I just wanted to ask if you could write a Lockwood x reader where the reader can't sleep because she had to much coffee in the day because of pervious nights events and she needed the energy. So Lockwood cuddles with her until she falls asleep

How much coffee can someone drink before the caffeine in it starts to give them adverse effects?

You stand in the kitchen of Portland Row, staring at the back of the tin of coffee. The only warning is: can lid and edges may be sharp after opening.

Fat lot of good that is, you think, snorting, and you’re about to spoon out another heap of coffee grounds into your mug when you notice your hand shaking a little.

Maybe it’s time to switch to decaf coffee. Or tea.

The kitchen door opens, interrupting you, and Lockwood saunters in. It’s the only way to describe his walk - although if Kipps is nearby, swagger works better.

He sniffs the air as he comes to stand next to you. “Not coffee again. Have you not tried tea?”

You shoot him a withering look. “Don’t you have any other jokes?”

He grins. “None you’d laugh at.” He takes a mug and a teabag from the cupboard, and looks at you again, and you get the feeling that he always sees more than you want him to. “Seriously, are you okay?”

You take a deep breath and sag against the kitchen worktop. “I keep thinking about the haunting last night. I expected it to be scary but instead, it was just…”

Letting your eyes drift closed, you picture the child ghost, scared, lashing out to protect itself from whatever, or more likely, whoever, had hurt it in life. 

“Sad,” Lockwood finishes, softly.

“And I don’t want to sleep, so.” You salute him with the empty mug.

He gently takes the mug from your hands. “I think I’m going to confiscate this and the tin of coffee. It’s about a hundred years old, anyway - definitely past its use by date.”

You chew your lip. “If you’re going to take the coffee away, I’ll need another way to stay awake.”

Lockwood shakes his head. “You’ve been awake for what, now - over twenty four hours? You need sleep, darling.”

The endearment makes your stomach flip in the most delicious way.

“But-”

“No buts.” He pushes aside his own mug. “What can I do to make you less afraid?”

A memory surfaces, but you hesitate.

He sees it. “What is it?

His voice is so gentle and his brown eyes are warm and bottomless.

“My mum used to curl herself around me, when I couldn’t sleep as a child.” Your face heats. “But I don’t-”

Lockwood nods, as if it’s settled. “That’s what we’ll do.”

You stifle a surprised laugh. You’ve been yearning after him for weeks and all you had to do was develop a little bit of insomnia?

Except it’s not really funny, is it? Not when you think back to the naked fear on that little visitor’s face.

“Are you sure?”

“I need my agents at full health,” he responds, but his tone is feather soft. He holds out his hand, palm up, and you put yours over it. His fingers curl around yours, and just that bit of contact sends every fibre of your being into a flurry of sparks.

Will you get any sleep with him so close?

“Where?” you ask.

“Your bed? If that’s okay, of course,” he adds.

That he’d repeatedly check with you is such a balm to your tired soul. “Yes. That’s perfect.”

Lucy and George are out. Lucy’s been drafted in as a deputy researcher today, so it’s just you and Lockwood at home. He leads you up the stairs to your room, and they creak under your steps, but it’s a happy, familiar sound.

You push the door open with your free hand.

“Pyjamas?” Lockwood asks.

“Nah.” You’re already wearing comfy clothes. Now that you’re faced with your bed, you’re exhausted. Tiredness drags at you with heavy hands. You yawn hugely.

“Excellent sleep prep,” Lockwood teases gently, as you toe off your slippers. 

You’re hesitant to get into bed, but he says, sensing your discomfort, “You go under the covers. I’ll go on top of them.”

“Thankyou.”

He inclines his head, says nothing, just waits for you.

You slip under the covers, but then your whole body tenses up. What if you dream of that small, sad face, frozen forever in fear?

Lockwood climbs on to the bed and settles in beside you.

“We put the child to rest,” he reminds you.

You turn to face him. “I’m afraid I’ll have a nightmare.”

Whisper-soft, he presses a kiss to your forehead. “I’ll stay here, so if you do, you can wake me up and tell me about it.”

You wouldn’t, you think. He always looks so tired. You wouldn’t wake him. You’d do anything to get him the rest he needs.

Maybe this will serve you both.

You snuggle up to him, as much as you can with the sheets and quilt between you. His lips are warm against your hairline. He folds his hands under his cheek and you do the same, facing each other like kids on a sleepover.

“Okay?” he asks.

Perfect. But you just say, “Yes. Thanks.”

But you can’t bring yourself to close your eyes.

Lockwood clears his throat and begins, “Did I ever tell you about the time George and I found a stray cat? It had this awful smell, and we decided to bathe it…”

The story is hilarious and sweet by turns, but you don’t hear the end. You fall asleep to Lockwood’s deep, soft voice and the feel of his warm body snuggled up to yours.

And in the morning, when you wake, rested, he’s snoring softly next to you, and it’s your new favourite way to wake up.

How do the girls get along

Pretty great actually!

Jenny and Kim are very good/close friends, since they met relatively early compared to others (they actually met each other first out of everyone, then others at one point and another) and had a shared adventure sometime after the ends of their respective shows (wink wonk).

But, their first meeting was not actually very um, positive. There was some conflict, but after it was resolved both of them gained a very solid friend for life!

Jenny, was glad to meet someone else (beside Brad) who treated her like a person/normal teenager (instead of an 8th wonder of the world or a freaky robot) and not to mention she got a fellow superheroine girl friend! After Misty, she kind of missed having someone like that to kick butt with (considering that like, 70% of her friends are dudes) or just hang out.

Kim was fascinated by Jenny, not because she is a robot (tho she does think its pretty cool) but because it kind of gave her a contrast to her own life in a weird way? Like, Kim was a normal teenager who got into superheroing on accident and just went with it, while Jenny was created with a goal of being Earth's defender but rebeled to have some sort of normal life. And now they both live those weird semi-normal lives, that led them to meeting each other.

Jun is around 5-6 years their junior and while they met each other much later on, when Jun was a little older (like not 11-12 age of the show), she still kind of looked up to them and both Jenny and Kim felt an instant kinship with the girl.

Before she met Jenny and Kim, Jun only knew a couple other guys as fellow heroes/magical protectors (guess who ;D lol), and while she had plenty of female role models (Ama/Jasmine being the most prominent) and friends, she kind of enjoyed meeting some cool older superheroines to bond with! It also helped that despite the age difference, both Jenny and Kim never looked down at her when it came to superheroing/fighting, but respected her abilities and expertise (considering that Jun was practically an apprentice to her Ama since at least 8-9ish of age, when her powers first awakened, she has a lot of experience).

They both are kind of like cool older cousins to her, who travel a lot for their work and come visit to hang out often and tell/share stories about their adventures. Their and her lines of work while similar, also run in completely different circles (human/interplanetary vs magical/supernatural), so its always a treat to hear about the things they do.

(And yes sometimes she feels jealous about the fact that both of them get to travel all over the world, and despite the developments, more often than not she has to stay town locked and limit her excursions to magical realms.)

Silly thing, but Jun absolutely adores Jenny, for one simple fact that she can travel to space just like that (she and Danny, fellow astronaut/space fans, share that, despite the fact that Danny kinda can travel to space just like that too.)

First repaint of 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci' is (kinda) finished! I'm still searching for my gouache paints for some highlights, but otherwise... I really prefer those classical repaints with watercolors.

I NEEEEDDDD vulnerable lockwood😭 just him having a really bad day mentally and on top of that a case gone wrong and he just lets it all out to reader ☹️ (why do i think that he’d be a rly pretty crier)

Portland Row is quiet when you arrive home. The sound of the door shutting behind you seems very loud.

“Lucy?” You call. “George? Lockwood?”

A sound from upstairs catches your attention. You listen for a moment.

It sounds a bit like… a sob?

You stuff your rapier in the holder in the hallway and take the stairs to the library two at a time.

Too late, you forget to knock.

Anthony Lockwood sits in his habitual wingchair in the library. When you see him here, he’s usually the picture of gentlemanly repose, reading the paper with a steaming cup of Earl Grey before him on the little occasional table. 

Today the scene is very different.

He’s hunched over, elbows on his thighs, head in his hands, bent almost double, sobs wracking him. His shoulders shudder as he cries.

You must make some sound of shock, because he looks up, and even with red-rimmed eyes, he’s gorgeous.

He swipes at his face. “Oh. Hello.”

“Don’t oh, hello me.” You cross quickly to him, kneel at his feet, reaching up to gently wipe the tracks of tears from his cheeks, and he lets you, quiet and biddable.

You gaze into his soft, sad eyes, and you know immediately what happened. 

“You went to see that client, didn’t you. We all told you to wait!” 

He sighs. “I didn’t want them to go elsewhere while we dawdled. We’re spread too thin at the moment.” The ghost of a smile tugs at his mouth. “Imagine that. Me complaining about the agency being too successful.”

You don’t smile back. “What happened?”

He swallows. “The clients are a couple with a young son. Dark hair, mischievous type. They’ve got a haunting and the wife’s worried that she and her husband are the targets, and they have no other family, so-”

“So if they did die, the boy would be alone,” you finish. “Like you were. Oh, Lockwood-”

“I had to get out of there. I fed them some bollocks about needing a second consultant with me.” His voice cracks. “I was stupid, going on my own.”

“Yeah, you were.” You cup his cheek. “Never again, promise?”

“Promise.” 

Your gazes meet and hold.

“Do you want me to go?” You whisper.

“No. No, never.” His hand slides into your hair. “I can’t think of anyone I want with me now more than you.”

Your eyes dart to the chair and then his lap. “Think there’s room in that big chair for us both?”

A real smile kisses his lips then, and he shifts backwards in the big armchair. “I think we could give it a good go.”

You kick off your shoes and you climb into his lap, and his arms come tight around you. You settle your head on his shoulder, and snuggle in, and you both stay that way for a very long time, until Lucy and George get back and find you, and you all go down to the kitchen for tea.

Lockwood sets his chair very close to yours, and you’re very glad that he’s let you find a little chink in his armour.

Allow me to explain: I want to watch any and all Murder Drones episodes blindly without knowing or seeing anything on them. In fact, that's how I enjoy watching this show. Why, you may ask?

Because that's how I first watched the pilot.

I knew literally nothing about it. I didn't know who voiced in it, what it was all about, who created it... nothing. I just saw a thumbnail for a show that had to do with robots on the internet, and decided to watch it on a whim.

I was blindsided by everything. The first thing I did when N spoke was to very loudly exclaim "MICHEAL?!" And you know what? I enjoyed what I saw! It may have taken me two separate occasions to finish, but I enjoyed my experience watching it!

Did I know episode two came out? I was hyperfixating on something else at the time, so I only found out about it months later. And like with the pilot, I knew nothing about it. I hadn't seen any teasers or anything on it, so once again, I was blindsided by everything I witnessed. So on and so forth, for each and every episode.

It was easy for me not to see anything, because I didn't have reliable internet at the time. Therefore, I was completely unaware of release dates, I didn't see any teasers, I didn't see anything for any episodes.

Obviously, I could not avoid the one featured in GLITCHX, so it was unavoidable and is therefore the only exception to this rule. I am willingly choosing to commit to how I watch these next episodes, because it's been an enjoyable experience for me to get slapped in the face by every episode of this series so far.

And I'd like to keep it that way.

Okay, this is turning out longer than I meant it to be, so let's get to the point I wanna make: while this is the first news we're getting in a long while and it's certainly exciting, I am purposely trying to avoid seeing it so I can continue enjoying it this way.

Anyway, here's N playing the trumpet as an apology if I came off as aggressive at the start there. :3

Hi! I saw your ask and my brain went BRRRRRRR!

Because, well, FASHION!!! So, before we get to the real deal—I just fucked around and here's some self-indulgent Mai sketches! Hehe.

She looks more like canon Mai without the makeup. (I coloured her eyes in the same layer, please ignore ⊙⁠��⁠⊙)

So, Fire Nation wedding dresses are white. What Ta Min is wearing here and what Ursa wore in the comics. I imagine Mai would sooner slit her throat with her own dagger. LOL. So, red it was. FN has heavy emphasis on the colour red. It's considered an auspicious colour in Chinese culture and I've seen traditional Chinese wedding dresses are predominantly red. (Please free to correct me if I'm wrong!)

Also, Mai has worn red without any hesitation in canon.

Sorry, I didn't do the Roku/Ta Min one that you asked for—for some reason I couldn't.

Pose inspiration for this one are Gomez and Morticia. I know Maiko is like the Addamses only aesthetically—but they were both traumatised kids; I don't see why they can't be like the Addamses when they're both grown up and adults and healed somewhat.

Plus, all that PDA? Definitely Addams family vibes.

And oh! I drew such glorious eyebrows for Mai but alas, her bangs came in the way 🥹
