in light of the increasing twitterification of this website and staff’s refusal to really listen to its core users, this seems like a good time to remind everyone that, while you can delete your blog(s) from either desktop OR mobile, you can export your blog on desktop ONLY
from the left nav, select settings, then click the blog you want to export from the right
scroll down to the bottom and select export
wait for the backup to be generated
once the backup is complete, you’ll get an email saying your export is ready for download
click the link or navigate back to your blog settings and you’ll see an option to download the backup along with the date it was created
you’ll get a zip file of your posts in html format, any media you’ve uploaded, chats, etc.
Anybody else notice the export process taking an extremely long time? When I have used it before it has taken maybe a day or two max. This has been pending a whole week now, since Feb 20.
Around the start of the recent ceo fuckery, but before the 404 media story about tumblr selling user data. I wonder if they are utilizing the same worker processes for the export as for the data sale, or if they removed some of the workers to slow down the most recent exodus.
Also, now that I see it phrased as a data sale, shouldn’t users get a percentage of the proceeds for their data?? 🤔
“Is that what those things are?” she asked. “Around your wrists and neck? Marks?”
“These?” He leaned forward, and the change in him was instant, the glowing eyes, the curling horns, the broadening of the shoulders. Without meaning to, Alex found herself scooting back in her chair. He was man and then monster in the space of a breath. The golden bands glowed at his wrists and throat.
“Yeah,” she said, trying not to show her fear. “Those.”
“These marks mean I am bound in service. Forever.”
“To hell? To Golgarot?”
He laughed then, the sound deep and cold, the thing at the bottom of the lake.
psst. once again it's time to back up ur tumblr blogs. three months ago it took well over a Week for my zip file to arrive in my email, and i can't imagine that wait time has changed, so. start sooner rather than later, friends.
