Sneaking | Ocarina of Time | G

Link sprints across the courtyard and dives behind a line of shrubbery. Seconds later, a guard marches by, armor clanking noisily. Link watches him go, a grin quirking his lips.

He’s done this countless times before, but the thrill of it never leaves. 

No sooner has the guard turned his back, than Link is up, racing toward the tower in the distance. He’s always been good at sneaking, but this journey is never without a few close calls. Part of him actively invites them. They add to the rush of adrenaline, the feeling of victory when at last he reaches his destination. 

Of course, this would all be easier if he just used the stone mask. He could be across the castle gardens and up that tower in only a few moments. But that would take all the excitement out of it.

A dirt-eating grin still on his face, he glances over his shoulders to ensure Impa hasn’t materialized out of thin air and begins to climb.

A soft breeze blows through his hair, bringing the sounds and scents of the night to him. With the smell of the forest wafting through the air, and owls hooting and crickets chirping, it’s truly a beautiful night. One that he is eager to spend by the side of his favorite person in the world. 

He reaches the top and hauls himself over the window sill. 

“Took you long enough,” says a familiar voice.

Link looks up, smiling as his gaze lands on Zelda standing in the middle of the room in her Sheikah garb, arms crossed over her chest. There’s a grin on her face though, and when he steps toward her, she leans forward to give him a peck on the cheek.

“I’ve missed you,” he murmurs, brushing a stray hair back behind her ear. 

Between her duties and his, it’s growing more difficult than ever to see each other in an unprofessional capacity. Moments like these are painfully rare when they’re able to just be themselves. Zelda and Link, Link and Zelda.

“I’ve missed you too,” she replies, softly.  

She rubs a gentle thumb along the side of his face and he leans into her touch. For a moment they are silent, merely reveling in each other’s presence, but then Zelda gives him a quick kiss and backs away.

“Are you ready?”

Link grins. “Of course. Are you?”

She winks, already rounding him and heading toward the window.

“Always.”

It doesn’t take them long to cross the lawn. They climb the castle wall, quickly, stifling giggles as they sprint past guards and vault over. Epona is waiting dutifully for them on the other side. She gives a welcoming whinny when Link swings up onto her back. He pats her, then holds out a hand to Zelda.

“Your ride, My Princess.”

Her cheeks pink slightly as she takes it. “Why thank you, Sir Link.”

No sooner has she sat down in the saddle, than Link spurs Epona into a gallop. Then, they’re off flying across Hyrule Field laughing and cheering as they zip past trees and leap over obstacles. 

Moments like these are so wonderful, so freeing Link can hardly believe they’re real. But when he chances a glance back at Zelda, looking so beautiful and vibrant and alive, he knows he will treasure them forever. 

Just as he will treasure her forever—the princess who has his heart.

I love my auntie dearly, I really do, but good god is being around her nowadays pretty much akin to being in Alien...

And I feel so mean for saying that because I know she loves her kids and wants to have them, and it's rude in general, but watching her constantly groaning in discomfort and complaining and almost doubling over when one of them kicks, which happens at least once every five minutes... it's fucking body horror to me. The actual outline of a foot showing through her skin has burned itself into my memory and I wish I could forget it

In my defense she's very clearly reaching the end of her rope as well, always swearing and cursing out both her husband and herself for getting into this, repeating "10 more weeks" over and over again like a mantra, and just generally looking extremely exhausted, especially since she's got a hyperactive six year old on her hands too

And to think that this is technically the easy part, they're not even born yet... may whatever higher power there is give her strength, that's all I can really say

For some reason, this round of meds (same dose and everything as last time) is making me have very violent Realisations and Remembering Things moments. And by that I mean the Thing I Forgot and/or the Realisations show up with a bat and see how hard they can make my brain hit the wall. So anyway.

My mew oc Mud recently kind of redesigned by @lotusmew thank you I adore hims this is his new look (just credit where credit is due) meeting @phlurrii 's lovely ancient mew Meau

It was pleasantly cool under the treeline but still distinctly warm, the ancient mew roamed in search of berries to nibble upon, modern fruits didn't explode with an array of flavors like they used to having evolved to be mostly just one, but collecting enough and taking quick bites of all of them nearly replicated the same taste.

They glided effortlessly around a large tree with vines beginning to crawl up along the trunk half wondering if they should perhaps pull the vines off if the plant was parasitic in nature..

Meau pondered before their attention was brought to the sudden awareness of a psychic pattern, they stopped suddenly staring upon the, creature in front of them. It could have been some previously unseen psychic Marowak variant were the skull it wore clearly not its own, it smelt of houndoom smoke and dirt as it dropped some psychic held berries in shock at seeing her. She blinked quickly at them confused before their ears went back and a low but deep growl rumbled in the back of the others throat.

Meau quickly felt a snarl growing from her own throat in response to the aggression her own ears going back in response, the others hands bent in claw like emphasis held out in threat and Meaus own paws sharpened ready to strike if necessary. Both parties snarled growling and hissing digits flexing in emphasis, Meaus fur puffed out and the others hackles raised.

They continued to growl, muscles tensing ends of tails flicking in agitation, ready to see who struck first, leaves russeled with patches of light passing through gaps in the treeline as-

"mmmhhyyyaaa"

Meau quietened as her ears flicked upright at the quiet sound, a yawn, a kitten yawn for sure, the others hands relaxed slowly as they too stopped growling. Tiny blue ears popped out from the side of the others body as Meau stared in wonder, a mew kit poked their head out to look blinking large pink eyes at her and making a soft mewing as they crawled around from where they must have been clinging to this others back. A purple muddy paw caught the kitten as they attempted to float forward gently stopping and pulling them back holding the kitten to their chest, a second set of mews began.

Meau leaned her body to the side to look without approaching as the purple other twisted slightly to reach their long arm around their back to scoop and hold a second kitten, darker blue in color with bits of yellow with more curly fur. This one seemed less curious of her burying their face into the fluff on the others chest as they mewed, they leant their head down and chirped making various soothing kitten calls to comfort the youngling, Meau recalled herself making such sound when her own child was born.

The other regarded Meau again before they slowly turned, the berries lifted by psychic energy once more, Meau watched their tail unwrap from around boney protrusions along their spine stretching out into a significantly longer tail and tilted her head as she regarded them again. They didn't notice, looking over their shoulder and gave a warning growl that clearly meant not to follow as they flew away quickly.

Meau blinked after them in pause.

She pondered.

And she followed.

Sometimes all you can do is find something to do to distract yourself from useless worrying, and sometimes that distraction ends up going surprisingly well, so here's a WIP of the thing I've been working on this evening:

I'm redrawing a favourite screencap and aiming for as much realism in the colours as I can muster, and it's going better than I expected.

OBSESSED with it to be quite honest it never gets old like it's the most intimate you can get with someone, to take a part of them into you fully and completely, but it's also an inherently selfish act to consume another to satiate your own hunger, feeding your most base and animalistic instinct with the flesh of a lover.... LIKEEEEEE. I fear cannibalism is a bit of a banger

painted for a few hours. it didn't go super well (I forget everything way too fast and it's been like a month, I think?) but I'm making myself stop and go to bed now. almost forgot that I have to go get my blood drawn in the morning 🤦

so I've been watching the KH Union Cross stuff (in order, thank goodness, this would be so confusing to piece together otherwise), and like, I knew enough about UX that the appearance of the foretellers at the end of KH3 wasn't confusing bc I knew who they all were, but getting the expanded, explained lore and I'm like okay, actually these weirdos in animal masks are pretty cool, glad to know they'll show up (presumably) in future games

also I'm glad that memorizing the Latin names for the seven deadly sins is finally paying off

It’s wild how long it takes me to notice why my brain is all worked up sometimes, like I’ll be rocking more than usual or fidgeting or generally feeling anxious and buzzy and Bad™️ all of a sudden. Then 30+ minutes into it I’ll realize oh I just have too many lights on in my room, or my computer screen is too bright, or I just haven’t drank enough water in the past couple hours, or there are too many things on my bed with me (currently it’s yarn and crochet stuff), etc, and feel physically uncomfortable because of it. 

Like, buddy, pal, my dude, these are very common and easy-to-fix problems. Can we not like, remember to check that first?
