It’s Christmas morning. The chill from outdoors has crept inside overnight, but it’s the feeling of mismatched lips brushing against your neck that stirs you from your slumber.
It’s not a bad way to wake up; it’s one of your favorites, actually. One smooth. One scarred. Both coming together over your pulse point to send a shiver up your spine and pull a moan from your own mouth.
“Touya..” you murmur drowsily, giggling as his lips climb up your neck to trail along your jaw.
“Doll..” he echoes your nickname in the same timbre, playfully mocking you, as he often did.
You can feel the his smile against your skin when he briefly nuzzles his face against yours. It’s then that you realize that his hands are also wandering, slipping beneath the sheets to skim along your sides.
“I can almost guarantee you that we do not have time for this today,” you say as you lock eyes with him.
He leans over you, propped up on one arm to stare back into your eyes with a devil-may-care grin.
“Maybe a Christmas miracle’ll happen.” He shrugs, leaning in again to attach his lips to your neck.
“Oh, you believe in miracles all of sudden?” You ask sarcastically as your eyes fall closed again.
A soft sigh leaves your lungs as you gently stretch and relax into the sheets, tilting your head to allow him better access to your neck.
Maybe a Christmas miracle would happen. You cross your fingers.
“Believe in ‘em?” He scoffs, warm breath blowing over your neck. “I’ve seen one firsthand. How the hell else could I have landed you?”
He smirks and sinks his teeth into your skin, feeling rather proud of himself for that one, because he can practically hear you rolling your eyes when you echo his scoff.
“Must be all the smooth one liners,” you tease, letting your hands roam to seek out the only present that you’re really hoping for today.
You find it without much trouble. His morning wood is just inches from your thigh. You slowly drag your fingers along his shift before wrapping your hand around the barely contained erection, concealed only by his boxers.
“Fuck,” he curses under his breath, sighing as he readjusts to swivel his hips towards you.
He starts bucking them gently, shifting upwards into your grasp while he starts sucking on your neck again to stifle the desperate moans threatening to spill from his lips.
“Shit,” you moan, eyes briefly rolling back when his tongue finds that special spot on your neck. “Baby, do you really think we might have enough time?”
“We can make it quick,” he mutters impatiently, tossing back the sheets in a hurry as he moves to position himself between your legs.
The both of you are veterans when it comes to quickies. You thought you were good at ‘em before you had kids, but now? It’s an art form that you have perfected.
You reach down to haphazardly bunch up the hem of your nightgown and pull your panties to the side while he tugs his boxers down far enough to let his pierced erection spring free.
“Remind me to eat you out later,” he murmurs, eyes flitting to yours as he dons a grin that makes your pussy throb even before he guides the head of his cock between your folds.
“Maybe I’ll just sit on your face,” you muse, eyes fluttering closed and a soft moan escaping you when he shifts his hips.
“Merry Christmas to me. I hope you do,” he replies huskily, smirking as he sheathes his length inside of you in one smooth thrust.
Both of you take a brief moment to savor the feeling, intentionally quiet noises of pleasure flooding the room. You lift your hips, grinding them forward while his begin to roll. He’s just about to pick up the tempo when the sound of little feet start pattering down the hall.
“Babe,” you whisper, pressing your hands to his chest as your head whips towards the door.
“I hear ‘em. Just know this means I’m pounding the fuck out of you later,” he murmurs as he leans in to steal a kiss, a handsome smirk lingering on his lips when he pulls away to fall back into bed beside you.
He tucks his suddenly softening cock back into his boxers and you adjust your clothes while he grabs the covers and tugs them over the both of you.
“Ssh!” You hear your five year old’s voice in the hall.
She’s giggling despite her warning to keep quiet and so is your 3 year old son as the sound of their footsteps grow closer to your door.
You and Touya employ your acting skills, pretending to be fast asleep just before the door slowly creaks open.
“I told you they’re still sleeping,” your daughter whispers as she crosses into the room, creeping closer to the bed with her brother right on her heels.
“Let’s get daddy!” Your son suggests in the loudest whisper you’ve ever heard.
You peek one eye open to look at your husband, who can’t seem to help the warm smile that graces his features. You close your eyes again and wait, though it doesn’t take long for your children to make their move.
“Daddy!” Your daughter cheers as she launches herself onto his side of the bed.
“It’s Christmas!” Your son exclaims as he joins her, pouncing directly onto his father’s chest.
“Oof!” He grunts, a huge grin spreading across his face as he let’s our a jolly chuckle that could rival even old St. Nick’s. “It’s Christmas? So what? What’s that mean?”
He sits up to wind an arm around both of them, his tickling fingers getting to work immediately, sending both children into laughing fits as they try to squirm out of his grasp.
“Santa!” Your son squeals, scrambling towards your side of the bed as you sit up, smiling fondly at the scene in front of you.
“Yeah! Santa came, daddy!” Your daughter manages to inform him through her giggles while trying in vain to protect her ticklish sides.
“Good morning!” Your son greets you, tilting his head back when he plops down into your lap as your arms wind around him.
“Good morning, mommy!” Your daughter echoes his greeting as Touya finally takes mercy on her.
“Good morning,” you reply, beaming as you press a kiss to the top of your son’s forehead and then lean over to do the same to your daughter. “So you guys already saw the tree? Santa came and left us all presents?”
“Yeah! I saw my name! And brother’s and sister’s and yours and daddy’s too!” Your daughter excitedly informs you, practically bouncing on the bed, which seems to give her an idea, because she rises to her feet. “Let’s open presents!”
Her brother joins her, climbing out of your lap to stand up as the two of them start jumping up and down in the space between you while chanting for presents. Touya chuckles and glances over at you to exchange smiles before he stands and loops his arms around the kids again.
“Alright, alright, we’ll do presents,” he says as he tucks one beneath each arm and starts carrying them off, making them squirm and giggle. “We gotta get your sister first though. Why don’t you two go find one with your names on ‘em and mommy and I will be right there?”
He sets them down near the bedroom door and they cheer before they take off. You rise from the bed, watching him as he watches your children go. There’s a smile on his face, but he looks a little lost in thought. He doesn’t seem to notice you approach until your hand reaches out to take his and he snaps out of it.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about?” You ask quietly as you slip your arms around his middle.
He folds his arms around you in return, peeking at you for only a moment before he looks down, a little embarrassed by the sheer amount of emotions that he’s feeling.
“How lucky I am. Thank you, doll. For everything,” he whispers, placing a kiss to your scalp as he gives you a long squeeze.
“Merry Christmas, baby,” you say softly, closing your eyes as you hug him back tightly.
He closes his eyes, holding you a little tighter while he sends off a prayer to any and every deity that he’s ever heard of. He never wanted to lose this. He’d lost a family once and he’d survived, but he wouldn’t make it through losing this one.
He feels a slight pressure just beneath his eyes and he knows what’s coming. Usually he tries to fight it, but he knows it’s hopeless this morning.
“Merry Christmas, doll,” he replies as a crimson tear slips over his cheek from under his stapled seam.
The baby starts fussing down the hall and you pull away, only to stop when you realize that she isn’t the only one who’s crying. You reach up to cup his face, delicately swiping the tear away with the pad of your thumb before your gaze finds his.
“Are you okay, baby?”
He nods, a tender smile on his lips as he cradles your head in both hands and plants a kiss to you forehead.
“I’ve never been happier,” he says sincerely. “I’ll go get her. You wrangle the other gremlins.”
With a gentle swat to your behind, he heads down the hall and you turn to look at him over your shoulder. A smile spreads across your face as you watch him swing open the door to the nursery and beam at your other daughter, who can be heard giggling inside, amused by the funny face he makes as he enters the room.
You shake your head, still grinning like a fool as you make your way towards the living room, where your eldest is doing her best with her newfound reading skills to sort out the gifts.
“Lemme help you, sweetheart,” you say as you pick up one of the wrapped presents from beneath the tree.
A few minutes later, Touya arrives with your 18 month old on his hip. She stares in wonder at the presents and start kicking her tiny legs while pressing on his arms.
“Down,” she requests in the most adorable, excited little voice.
“Yes, ma’am,” he chuckles, finding a place on the floor to plop down, so that he can set her free and keep a close eye on her.
He keeps an eye on all of you, basking in the wonder of a Christmas morning that he never thought he’d live to see, let alone celebrate with his own family.
He watches the children dance around while impatiently waiting to tear into their piles of presents. He watches you take you youngest daughter into your lap and help her tear away the wrapping paper on one of her gifts, which she finds more interesting than the gift itself. He watches you crawl over and reach way under the tree to retrieve a small, rectangular gift.
“This one’s yours,” you say as you sit down beside him and offer him the package. “Feel like it’s important to note that this one’s from me and not Santa.”
He furrows his brow, smiling curiously as he glances over at you before he turns his attention to the gift in his hands. He tears the paper away and finds a box, which he lifts the top of of to reveal a familiar looking white stick inside.
Pregnant is what it says.
You watch his face and are blessed enough to see the moment of realization on his face. His eyes go wide and he suddenly grins so wide that you’re worried he might lose a staple.
“I’m gonna be a dad again?” He asks excitedly, sounding the teeniest bit choked up, though he’d never confess to that.
“Yes,” you confirm, nodding your head as you mirror his elated expression.
He chuckles in disbelief and throws his arms around you, pulling you in to hug you tight and press his lips to your scalp again.
“I love you so much,” he murmurs, pulling away to cup your face in his hand and kiss you like he means it, because he does. He’s never meant anything more.
Before you can respond, he pulls away and looks down at your belly, placing his hand over it gently.
“And I love this one already,” he adds softly.
Tears of joy threaten to spill from your own eyes now as you place your hand over his.
“We love you too. We’re just as lucky to have you, baby. All of us,” you say quietly.
He leans in to press his smiling lips to yours again, his head already filling with what next year might look like. The sounds of the children squealing and screaming fade away as he presses his forehead to yours to look into your eyes.
“Merry Christmas, doll. Thank you.”

Still thinking of Silvio, just buried under a pile of children. Very likely all boys. Each time, Emma is hoping it'll be a girl. Just one girl. Maybe she gets one with her very last child, who is absolutely spoiled to high heaven (truthfully, they all are, the palace is constantly filled with the noise of rowdy children having fun who are just as loud as their father 💀).
The first kid isn't planned and he has a bit of a breakdown about it. He hovers so much during the first pregnancy, barely letting you leave the palace and worrying so much about when you try to lift things. He's leaving meetings to check on you and (begrudgingly) getting Rio to check on you when he can't. He worries about your food and drinks and wanting to make sure you're getting all the nutrients you need. He's thankful for being by the sea to get plenty of fresh fish, and pesters Prince Keith for trades in herbs and remedies to help your morning sickness and such.
Silvio learns how to braid hair just for his daughter. He loves bringing back all sorts of items from his trips overseas, different books and toys and artifacts. Carlo is accidentally like a second uncle (Emidio is completely blocked from meeting the kids). It takes a lot of convincing to allow Silvio's father to see the grandkids, and is only allowed with strict supervision for a short amount of time.
Silvio play fights with his kids all the time, often pretending to be a pirate. Or they'll act as the pirates while he's the dashing prince coming to save the kidnapped princess, Emma. He teaches them how to swordfight (including fighting dirty....) and takes it upon himself to show them how to work and command a boat.
Silvio, who's struggled with being honest with his feelings for so long and couldnt really be honest because that'd make him vulnerable, working so hard to overcome that for you and his kids. He tries his best to tell you and his kids how much he loves you guys. He really struggles with it, muttering it for a while, face red, blurting it out in a shout sometimes. But he improves with it. He wants to make sure his kids always feel wanted, in a way he never got to.
The first time he holds his first baby, his jewelry gets in the way, between baby trying to put a pendant in their mouth and Silvio almost accidentally hitting his kid with his heavy chain. He spends a long time after the birth of his first kid dressed down without his usual bling, and it's the most casual and least flashy the palace staff have ever seen him. Sometimes he has spit-up stains but of course they're scared to mention it to him unless he's going to an important meeting or something.
He puts his kids to bed with stories about his trips on the seas, the kinds of people he's met, countries he's visited, rare treasures and new creatures he's found. Usually they're enraptured by his stories. But once in a while, they surprise him by preferring your storybooks to his experiences, getting him upset that some fictional story is more captivating than his real life experience, making him pout for the next week.

having a pregnancy kink means doing a lot of discernment when it comes to the family portion of pregnancy. it’s a part of the process and it’s fluffy and lovely but when you have a kink, and that is the primary focus of your curated space… you have to be mindful when you are posting art of kids.
all the artists i know that draw fluff are wonderful human beings who can separate the angsty/cute family content from general kink posting and it’s awesome! i care about their characters and want the whole story.
Tumblr media
but when you use AI to generate an image of a man and his children cradling the object of your sexual affections… i feel like the point has been lost. your followers aren’t 100% liking this because they think it’s cute. they like it because it arouses then, and they don’t care that there’s children in the piece. please don’t do this.

The cold weather was getting harsher and harsher every day and although you loved the town of Jackson, you missed the Texas winters from before the outbreak.
You looked around the town. Sometimes you didn't appreciate everything that you had but as you looked around, you realised how lucky you were to have him and to have this safe haven.
The world was full of criminals and thieves and murderers, titles that you had once held the mantle of, but now you just wanted to settle down in your little slice of paradise.
You and Tommy had been best friends since you were 18 and he was 22, the two of you having met through mutual friends but not really becoming friends until you were 19 and 23.
When the world as you knew it ended, you found comfort in one another and eventually in the fireflies. When that didn’t work out, you ended up here in Jackson where you could finally
You looked up, watching as he worked on the construction of a new building. He looked down at you, his face lighting up at the sight of you, waving in your direction. He flashed you that infamous smile, the one that made you smile even on the darkest days and you fell in love with him all over again.
You waved back at him before walking towards the gate when all of a sudden, you saw a huge crowd of patrolmen riding into town. Everyone watched and they stopped as they saw you standing in the middle of the street.
Maria stepped off the horse, looking at the
“Give me the gun,” one of the men, Richard, said, holding his hand out as he looked at the girl, his gun steady in his hand.
Her eyes flicked between the his gun and her gun and she scoffed, “Fuck no, why do you get one?” She asked, holding it tight.
Joel reprimanded the girl, you assumed that he had already given his weapons over, and she turned to him with a scowl, repeating her statement in anger.
Richard raised his weapon, repeating his statement with the same aggression and you stepped in between them, the barrel of his pistol too close to your forehead, “Why don’t we put the weapon down Richard, Tommy won’t like it if you blow a bullet through my skull,” you said, knowing the leverage you had.
Joel’s heart sped up at the sound of his brother's name, he was here and he was alive and that’s all that mattered. He felt guilty for the way that he had treated his brother, and you, back in the QZ and now it was time for him to repent.
You turned your back to Richard as he lowered his gun, holding your hand out and stating your name, “I’m sorry about him, now can you give me the gun. I promise one day you’ll get it back,” you said.
She nodded, not many people stood up for her like you had just down, ready to take the short end of a bullet for her. She handed her gun over and you thanked her, placing it in the empty holster on your side.
When you looked at Joel, you saw his elated smile, “Where’s Tommy?” He asked and you smiled at him, looking over at where your husband was working. Joel's eyes followed your gaze and when he noticed Tommy, you saw the visible joy on his face,
"Tommy!" Joel called out and the man turned around abruptly at the sound. He hadn’t heard that voice in years but as he turned and looked at his brother, you watched as his face lit up.
The two quarrelled constantly back when you three lived in the QZ and that was one of the reasons why you two left but as you watched Tommy scrambling to get off of the scaffolding, you saw that all of the anger dissipated as he rushed to his big brother.
He ran over to him, pulling him in for a hug. You knew how Tommy felt about Joel, how he wished things had been different with his brother but now he was here and you saw all of his anger go out of the window. Family meant everything to Tommy and finally, after years, his family was intact again.
He pulled away, that wide charming grin that you loved so much present on his face as he chuckled to himself, "The fuck you doing here?” He asked, hands on his brother's shoulders.
"I came here to save you," Joel said with that matching Miller smile that reached his eyes, crows feet turned up.
You missed them being this happy together, like it was before the outbreak. You missed the infamous Miller barbecues where Joel and Tommy would bicker and laugh and just have fun together. And you missed Sarah too.
Joel had this wide smile on his face as he turned around, one hand still on his brother's shoulder as he looked at Ellie on the horse.
"This is my brother Tommy and his best friend for the last 30 years?" He said, stating your name to Ellie, the biggest smile on his face.
The last time you had seen Joel, he had stormed into the apartment that you and Tommy shared in the QZ, arguing with his brother over your decisions to go with the fireflies to a different QZ. You had made a mistake that day by leaving but it had allowed you and Tommy to come here so it was all worth it in the end.
"We already met," you said, a smile on your face as you helped Ellie down from her horse.
The girl wiped her hands on her trousers before looking up at you, eyes narrowed at you, "Thanks for saving my ass" she said.
"He was never going to shoot you, I would have had his ass for it,” you said, looking back at Maria who was getting off of her horse.
“You should come into the tavern, we will get you a meal,” Maria said, leading the group inside and Joel marvelled at the look of it.
It was strange that after twenty years living in a QZ, he was in a bar that looked just like one from back home. You could see the awe on both of their faces as they sat down at a table, Tommy and yourself sitting opposite them.
Once they got the food out, they both started eating rapidly, glad that they had some food. Joel looked up between bites at the two of you and Maria who sat at the head of the table.
"There's more if you need it," Maria said. She was basically the leader of the patrols even though there wasn’t a status quo and Joel had noticed.
He looked up at her, spoon still in hand, "Thank you ma'am, it's been a while since we've had a proper meal,"
"Actually I don't think I've ever had a proper meal, this is fucking amazing," Ellie said, her mouth slightly full of food, a smile on her face.
"Sorry, Ellie, let's mind our manners," he said, turning to the girl. It reminded you of when he would scold Sarah and it sent a pain through your chest as you thought about her.
"I want my gun back," Ellie stated, narrowing her eyes at the three of you. She was a mistrusting child and although you respected that, she had to learn that you weren’t bad people.
Maria looked at you and Tommy before turning her attention back to the girl, "I think maybe y'all got off on the wrong foot," Tommy stated.
"Maria was going to have her guys kill us, that douche bag had a gun pointed at me, she managed to save me" Ellie said, once again believing that you had somehow saved her.
"They were always going to let you in if you weren’t infected, and Richard never would’ve shot you or me," you reassured and Maria nodded.
“Richard was going to shoot you?” Tommy asked, brows furrowed in worry as he thought about it.
You chuckled, hand patting his shoulder lightly, “It was nothing, I’ll explain it later,” you said, not wanting to bother poor Richard getting beaten up by your husband.
"We've got to be real careful who we let in this place, we're just trying to scare off those who want to hurt us," Maria explained, looking at Joel. She had heard stories about the man and she didn't trust him already and it showed.
Ellie's eyes went wide as she spotted the ring on your finger, "That's one big diamond," Ellie said, reaching forward to get a closer look at it and you extended your hand, a blush on your face as you allowed her to look at it.
"Thanks, my husband always had a knack for finding things, this just so happened to be his best find," you said, a smile on your face as you felt Tommys hand rubbing against your knee reassuringly.
"Who are you married to? I'd love to meet him," Joel said with a smile and yours vanished as you narrowed your eyes at him, unsure of how he had never noticed it before.
You and your husband shared a look before you turned back to him, "Joel, we're married, me and Tommy," You stated and he just looked at you, almost like he had frozen in place.
"Oh shit, congrats," Ellie said, her eyes also going wide as she looked at you two, Tommys hand reaching for yours and squeezing it, "Say congrats,"
"Congrats," Joel said absentmindedly and you could tell that he was happy for you but there was something holding him back. You didn't know whether it was the shock or if something had happened that they didn't know about but he seemed distant after that.
"I know it's weird seeing us like that but we've been together for over a decade now Joel, have you never noticed?" Tommy said, his brows furrowed as he looked at his brother.
It was true, you had first realised you loved him around 8 or 9 years after it all started and after that, you kept your relationship under wraps. Not because either of you were ashamed of it but because in the fireflies, you decided that it would be too dangerous in case something happened to advertise it so freely.
"You never mentioned it," Joel said, his grip on the glass tightening as he looked at the two of you. What you didn't know was that the person that mattered to him most, Tess, had died only a few months ago and he never got to tell her how he felt.
There was a guilt weighing heavily on his chest as he thought about Tess, the look on her face when she admitted to being bitten burned into his memory. There were so many things that he wished that he could have said to her but it was too late. That explained the bitter taste in his mouth as he looked at the two of you, happy.
Joel turned to Maria as he listened to her talk to Ellie about not having guns in the area, "Ma'am, we're grateful for your hospitality but do you mind if we have some time just for family," he asked.
"It's okay, how about a tour instead and then Maria can be on her way, yeah," You said, standing up and looking at the group.
You stood up, feeling Tommys hand slip into yours as you walked out of the door together. Joel looked at the two of you, confused as to how he never noticed the way the two of you acted together.
There was this heavy weight in his chest at the sight of you being happy. It wasn’t because he was jealous, it was because it pained him to see how much had changed since the outbreak, it pained him that Sarah wasn’t here to see her uncle and the closest thing she ever had to a mother end up together
As they walked back into the cold, Maria led them around, gesturing to the town around them that flourished with all the people around. It was a real community,
"Me and a few friends settled here a few years ago, just a handful of us. We built the rest of the wall out from there. It stops most raiding parties but we still find pockets of them," she explained.
Joel looked at her, brows furrowed, "No infection?" He questioned.
"Usually smaller colonies that have wandered off from the cities, all this open country makes it like Turkey shooting," Tommy said with a smirk before imitating shooting a turkey.
You hit him on the shoulder, scolding his joke and he just smiled at you. You purse your lips together in an attempt to hold back a smile but like usual, he managed to pass your defences and make you smile too.
"How do you keep this place quiet?" Joel questioned, noticing how there really were no infected.
"Being in the middle of nowhere helps, we don't advertise what we have, we stay off the radio," Maria explained.
That comment made Joel tense up. He had been worried sick about the two of you, you were really the only family he had left, and all this time he could have reached you but this woman had been stopping him. It made him mad.
He was pulled out of his train of thought by you listing the places in town, "House of worship, multi faith, school, that's where I work," you said.
Joel smiled at you, "Your degree is coming in handy," he said, remembering the days that you would come to his and Tommy's house, arms stacked with work.
"Was hoping it would one day," you said, chuckling at the end before continuing to list the places in town, "That's laundry, old bank is the jail but we don't really need it,"
"We drew electricity from the dam, we got sewers, heaters, and light," Tommy explained, proud of everything they'd achieved here.
Joel scoffed in disbelief, "This place actually fucking works," he said, shocked that this was a real functioning town.
They walked towards the outskirts of town, away from the bustling life and towards the farms and the stables.
Ellie broke the silence in the group by turning to Maria "So, you're like in charge?" She questioned.
The woman looked back at her, shaking her head, "No one person is in charge, I'm on the council and so is Mrs Miller here," she said, looking over at you.
You smiled to yourself. You may have been married for just over three years but to hear someone call you Mrs Miller was still a bit of a shock to the system. You could also tell that it shocked Joel just by the way he flinched slightly at the words.
"It's democratically elected and there's about three hundred people here including children. Everyone pitches in and we rotate work except for specialist roles like teaching or doctors," you explained.
Tommy nodded, his hand still in yours as he used the other hand to gesture to the scenery, "Everything you see, everyone pitches in and it's all shared," he explained, nodding his head.
Joel's nose scrunched up as he turned to look at his brother, "So uh, communism?" He questioned.
Tommy made a sound in disbelief, something half between choking and a scoff, "It's not like that," he said, a smile on his face as he chuckled at the absurdity of it.
"It is like that, literally. This is a commune, it's communism," Maria said, looking back at him.
He froze in his spot for a second, his entire life flashing before his eyes as his entire belief system was flipped on its head. He looked like he was going through a hundred emotions in a minute as he comprehended the statement.
You laughed to yourself, hitting your husband's arm jokingly, "Imagine if 29 year old you could see yourself now Mr Desert Storm," you teased.
You started to walk away and he shook his head, trying not to think about the way he lived and started to follow you, arm wrapping around your waist as you stopped at the stables.
Maria showed Ellie the horses and you watched as she grinned at them, petting the horse like she'd never seen one before.
"I've got to go do some work but could you get them settled in?" Maria asked, normally it was her job to do that but it had been really busy recently and you understood.
"Yeah, of course," you said with a smile, "And could you bring Lizzy back, she's over at Linda's,"
"Of course," she said, placing a hand on your shoulder before turning to Joel and Ellie who were still standing by the horses, "I'm glad you guys are here"
Maria walked away and Joel watched her, eyes narrowed. You could tell that he still didn't trust her completely and though it was understandable, Maria was a good person and he needed to learn to trust her.
"So you can all get set up in the house across the street from ours, two bedrooms, it's nice," Tommy said, and Joel nodded.
You looked at him, "I can take Ellie over there if you two want to catch up," you said.
Joel looked at Ellie, the girl's eyes wide almost like she was scared to be separated from him.
"Yeah, okay, you'll be fine," Joel said, nodding his head. After years apart, he was glad to be able to spend some time with his brother.
You chuckled, "Come on kid, I'm not that bad," you said and she smiled at the joke, nodding her head.
You quickly walked over to Tommy, pressing a kiss to his cheek before walking towards Ellie again, the two of you walking away in conversation.
Tommy smiled to himself and Joel watched as his brother pressed a hand to the spot where she had kissed him, almost like a little child who'd been kissed for the first time.
It was the first moment where Joel really saw the love between the two and he smiled to himself, patting his brother on the back as they walked towards the bar.
It was empty when they got there, like it normally was at midday, and Joel sat down at the bar, still marvelling at the fact that it was all real.
Tommy stood behind the bar, pouring a glass of whiskey for his brother, watching as Joel's eyes went wide at the taste of fresh and real alcohol.
'It doesn't seem like you or sugar aged much," Joel stated and Tommy smiled at the nickname. The gang of smugglers you were running with back in the early years of the outbreak had labelled you with it after a series of events that lead to you being branded the nicest person in the gang.
"You on the other hand," Tommy joked as he walked around the bar to get to his brother, sitting down on the stool and taking a sip from his drink.
"How long have you two been a thing?" Joel questioned. He had always assumed that the two of you had feelings for each other but it was never confirmed to him.
He had always seen the way that you’d sleep in the same bed, holding each other after nightmares, going partying in your early twenties before the world collapsed, laughing even when the world was crumbling around you.
"Since 2010 probably, that's when I realised I loved her you know. Then obviously we were in the fireflies so we hid that from them and we've been married since we got here so about four years," he explained, a smile on his face as he reminisced.
He couldn’t imagine a life without you. When the world got too dark, you were the light that brought him back. You were the one who made him smile when the world seemed to be dull and boring, killing all the joy. You were the one who saved him from himself when he got too far into that hole of darkness.
"I'm glad you're happy," Joel said, a half hearted smile on his face. He meant it but there was something in his heart that burned at the idea of Tommy being happy in a world where he wasn't.
"Thanks for still giving a shit about me," Tommy said, raising his glass and the two men cheered to the alcohol.
Tommy watched as his older brother walked around the empty pub as it had not opened yet, he looked around at the decoration, being taken back to the time before the outbreak where this was normal, "How's Tess?” He asked. He knew you would want to see her again because you were both so close before the fireflies and he knew you regretted what you had said to her before you left.
Joel turned around, a vacant look in his eyes but a smile on his face, "She's fine, alright," he said, not mentioning the fact that she was dead because it was too hard. Joel Miller had always avoided the hard conversations.
"Good, you’ll have to bring her here, I know Sugar would like it. Who's the kid?” He asked and Joel shook his head, walking back over.
He shrugged his shoulders, feeling the weight being taken away for just a second, "Some fireflies daughter and she's trying to find her family. I was heading in this direction," he said and Tommy smiled, not noticing how he ignored the mention of bringing Tess here.
For the first time in years, he saw the good man that was his brother before the outbreak, the one that wanted to help, "Good to see your heart," he said, hoping his brother could stay. If he was able to stay then they could be a family again and his children could have an uncle and maybe it would bring some joy back to Joel's life.
"You know where they might be?” Joel asked, taking another sip from his drink as he sat back down.
"There's a base at the University of Eastern colorado but it's a bit fucked up in the weeks ride there," he explained, he knew how dangerous that trek can be with the raiders and the infected, "It's not an easy trip,"
"I made it across the country, the two of us can make it from here to Colorado," Joel said, a smile on his face. He wanted to spend more time with his brother and this was a perfect opportunity to have him back.
"I can't go," Tommy said, staring at the glass, his finger tracing the rim of it. He had too many things waiting for him here and he couldn’t risk his life, he couldn’t let his daughter grow up fatherless.
Joel scoffed, angry that his brother wasn't going to come, "Why, cause Maria won't let you? Is she the one who kept you off the radio, is that why you stopped messaging me back?' He questioned and Tommy could feel his disdain for the woman.
"After me and Sugar left the fireflies, she was in bad shape. I didn't think she'd make it and Maria saved us, that's when I realised that I wanted a normal life with her," he explained as he thought back to it.
You had been shot in a bad fight and he had stumbled across the group of men patrolling and Maria had offered to bring you two back in and help you out after they had determined that you were not infected. Her best doctors had saved your life and Tommy would be forever indebted to them for that.
"They didn't have to take us in and all we had to do was follow the rules," he said as he looked at his brother who stood up, an angry tone to his voice.
"I'm your brother," he exclaimed, looking at him,
"I'm aware, they're very protective of this place and for a good reason," Tommy said, standing up as well to look at his brother.
"I know, the wrong people may show up. Is that what I am? The wrong people?" He questioned, clearly feeling threatened. He knew what his brother did when he felt backed into a corner.
Joel scoffed, "The things you judge me for, I did those things to keep you alive, to keep your wife alive," he said, spitting out the second to last word almost like he was judging him for what he had to do.
"We did those things, they weren't just things. We murdered people and I don't judge you for it. We survived the only way we knew how but there were other ways,” Tommy explained. That was exactly why he had joined the fireflies, because that was another way and when they didn’t work out he came here and he was never planning on leaving.
"If you knew the shit I've been through the last few months-" Joel said and Tommy cut him off,
"I'm a father now," he stated, looking over at the man. He knew how that was going to affect his brother because he knew how much he suffered when Sarah died.
He had wanted to tell him from the start, tell him about his little girl and how amazing she was, how she reminded him of Sarah when she was a baby but he didn’t want to trigger Joel, he was witness to his anger when it all happened. "We've got a little girl, she's two and the missus is a few months along now, we think it's gonna be another girl but she wants to keep trying till its a boy,"
Joel had never seen his brother smile that wide, like there was nothing else in the world that he could ever want. Tommy was genuinely happy. You had given him everything that he didn’t think he deserved, a home, a family, somewhere that he didn’t have to be scared of.
"I gotta be more careful," he said, his voice breaking slightly as he thought about it. He had to stay because he couldn’t bare seeing his little girl like Sarah, bleeding in his arms, "I'm still scared of being a bad father but I feel like I'm doing well so far,"
Joel poured himself another drink as all of the thoughts ran through his head. He felt like he had failed as a father. His daughter should be 32 this year but she wasn’t because he had failed and it scared him that now his younger brother was in his position and he was making the choice he should have made, he should have protected his family better.
"Guess we'll see," Joel said, taking out his anger and frustration in the only way he knew, at his brother.
"Guess we'll see? That's all you got?" Tommy said with a scoff, angry that his brother wasn’t proud of him and that he didn’t care, "I want you to meet your niece, stay around to see the other kid and any more we might have,"
Tommy wanted to be upset that his brother was letting him down again but he had been letting him down since they entered the QZ and it wasn’t going to change now.
"Just because life stopped for you doesn't mean it has to stop for me," Tommy spat out, getting closer to his brother.
"I'll grab some supplies and be out of your hair by the morning," Joel said before storming out of the bar, leaving Tommy there.
The man reached up to a chain on his neck that had a locket, a picture of you and him and your little girl in there, the only picture he had. It was all he needed to remind himself of what he had built here with you, what he was risking even considering going with Joel.
Tumblr media
You took your jacket off, watching as Ellie went upstairs to get changed into some of the clothes that you had gotten ready for her as well as some things that you thought would be useful.
As you walked to the kitchen, grabbing two glasses and waiting for Ellie, you looked down at your stomach.
You were five months along now. You had never imagined yourself as a mother when you had met Tommy and you never imagined it when the outbreak started. Now you had this white picket fence life that seemed like something plucked out of a daydream - as long as that fantasy included infected and constant raiders.
Ellie was upstairs, looking at the spare room. You had given her some new clothes and a warm jacket for her to wear and she was grateful thaat you were giving this all to her.
As she looked at the house, she wondered if this was what people lived like back before the outbreak, if this is what her life would’ve looked like if she would have had a family before it all.
Once she was changed, she walked downstairs, looking at the living room. Ellie had never seen a real house before and this one felt like a home, with art on the walls and a comfy looking sofa and kids toys thrown on the sofa - she wasnt quite sure what that was about yet though.
That’s when she noticed the placard on the top of the mantelpiece. It was a sign that had two names of people on it, Sarah and Eliza, the two having died months apart at the start of the outbreak.
She watched as you walked around the kitchen, cleaning up small things on the side as you waited and that’s when she noticed the baby bump that hadn’t been evident before under your jacket.
"You're pregnant," she stated. Now that the girl was thinking about it, she had never seen a pregnant woman before.
"5 months," you confirmed, watching as she came in and sat down at the table, “Me and Tommy have another kid, a little girl, she’s two,”
She nodded her head, “That’s why there’s kids toys in the other room,” she stated ad you nodded, chuckling slightly.
“Yeah, I havent had time to tidy that up yet,” you said, looking at the other room and then at the girl at the table, "Did you get what I gave you?"
Her nose scrunched up as she remembered the menstrual cup that you had left her - Maria had been the one to find the extraordinary invention, "Weirdest gift ever," she stated.
You chuckled at her reaction, "You'll thank me for it one day," you promised, asking if she wanted a drink and then proceeding to pour her a glass of water, handing it to her, "Maria can cut your hair later if you like, she's really good at it,"
"Did she used to be a hairdresser?" Ellie questioned, having assume that she was just working on the patrols.
"No, she used to be a lawyer basically," you stated, sitting down next to her.
She looked at you, watching as you took a sip from your water, "What did you used to do?" She asked and you noticed that the girl was very inquisitive.
"I had just graduated university to be a teacher, I was 25 and then it all went to shit," you explained, remembering it all.
There was a part of you that missed the world before, the partying with Tommy at night and the laughing as you ran through the park, drunk off of your asses, and the laughs at the library even as the librarian scolded you. Now that you thought about it, you two were always destined to end up together.
As silence fell between you two, you looked into the other room, eyes falling on the memorial placard that you had seen Ellie looking at and brought it up, "You were looking at the memorial,"
She nodded, face softening as she remembered seeing it. The kids had been 12 and 22 when they had died, "I'm sorry about the kids," she said.
Your face scrunched up as you thought about it, hoping she didnt think you were old enough to have had a 22 year old in 2003, "They're not mine, Eliza was my little sister. Sarah was Joel's daughter," you stated, “I’m only 45,”
You thought that the shocked look on her face was from your age and before you could be too offended, you realised that she probably didnt know about Sarah and everything that had happened in Joels past.
"You didn't know, shit," you swore as you looked at her. You didnt mean to overstep, you knew how private he was and how he never wanted to discuss Sarah, hell, he didnt want to ever discuss life before the outbreak because it was that difficult and whilst you understand, you also believed he needed to talk about it.
She shook her head, "No, it's okay. I guess that explains him a little," she said, a half smile on her face that was almost apologetic.
"He's a good man even though we did bad stuff together," you said, recalling the smuggling missions that you went on with Joel.
Before the outbreak, he had been one of the kindest men that you had ever met, rough around the edges but soft when he got to know you. After Sarah died, you realised that she was the only thing that stopped him from losing faith in humanity and without her, lost a part of himself.
Ellie looked at you confused, "You were in the gang that killed people?" She questioned, having heard all about Joels escapades.
You nodded, you had done bad things to make your way through the apocalypse, "Yeah, Tommy saved me that night, brought me with him and Joel and Sarah," you explained, “I had to do what i had to do to survive, and that meant hurting people,”
It was difficult to think about that time but since then, you’d grown and tried to find a way to make the world better and when that failed, you ended up here where you managed to make your world better, your world with Tommy.
Tumblr media
Tommy had told you that Joel had asked him to take the girl to the fireflies, that he wasn't able to do it yourself and as much as he protested, he agreed. You knew that it was the right thing for him to do, that it was in his nature to help someone and you knew that Ellie would be in good hands with him.
He had said his goodbyes that night, holding you until the sun came up and he had said goodbye to his daughter in the morning, trying not to cry as he walked out of that door. You had sat there for a few minutes, trying to hold back the worry but you knew that you had to go and see your husband one more time.
So as you rushed to the stables, hoping to see him one more time before he left, you saw Joel and Ellie also standing there, “What are you doing here, sugar?” Your husband questioned, looking at you.
You looked between the group who were looking at you and your daughter as she rested on your hip, “I wanted to say goodbye, again,” you said, feeling a little stupid now that you said it out loud.
“Joels going to take her now,” Tommy stated and you nodded, the weight falling from your shoulders as you knew he would be staying with you again.
When you looked over at Joel, he was staring at your daughter with those wide eyes that you had only seen a handful of times. He seemed in shock as he looked at Lizzy, at the way that she looked just like Tommy, the deep brown eyes, the quirk to her little smile.
“She’s ours Joel,” Tommy stated and he nodded, pursing his lips as if he was trying to hold his tears in
You looked down at the girl who was hiding in your shoulder, not looking at the other man, “Baby, this is your uncle Joel. Joel, this is your niece, Elizabeth Sarah Miller,” you explained.
His eyes went wide, you’d both named her after Sarah, “Elizabeth?” He questioned. That was Sarah's middle name as well as your younger sisters full name and he tried to keep in the tears as he thought about it. And the fact that she had been named after Sarah made the tears well up in his eyes.
“Do you want to hold her?” Tommy asked and the man nodded, allowing his brother to hand him the little girl.
Joel held her in his arms, a smile on his face as she babbled to herself, hand coming up to his hair and tugging on it slightly. Tommy apologised, stating that she was on the stage and Joel didn’t care, gently removing the girl's hands and smiling at her.
“She’s named after those we lost,” you said, listening to the girl talk to Joel in broken sentences. He nodded, looking over at you.
Ellie watched the interaction; she’d never seen Joel’s smile be that wide before. That's when the little girl reached her arms out for Ellie, “You can hold her if you want,” you said and her eyes went wide.
She questioned you and you nodded, watching as Joel passed her over, “She’s adorable,” Ellie said, starting an easy little conversation with the girl.
You turned to Joel. Last night, Tommy had told you that Tess wasnt actually waiting back at the QZ, she had died. She had been a good friend to you back in the day and it hurt to imagine the infected finally taking hold of her, but at least she died fighting.
“I heard about Tess, was it fast?” You asked and he nodded.
“Fast enough, she didn't turn so,” he stated. It was the first time he had really discussed her death and maybe that was a step for him.
He was ready to let go of the past and to have this new family, a new start to his life that he didnt have before and that Ellie gave him.
“I’m glad,” you said, placing a hand on his shoulder, “Joel, if you want to come back here, the house is available for you,”
He smiled, “We might have to take you up on that offer,” he said and you nodded, looking over at Ellie who you assumed was the other half of the ‘we’.
You were glad that he finally had another start at having a family and as you and Tommy watched Ellie and Joel ride off into the distance, your husband wrapped a hand around your waist, the two of you knowing that he was going to be okay.

A/N, so as of releasing this, it is not a series yet but i definitely have so many ideas for Tommy and Sugar so if anyone is interested, I was going to write some prequel chapters like outbreak day or them leaving the fireflies. Also, this isn't my greatest work but I wanted to finally finish it and publish it because I love the idea so much <3

dating shouto is a hassle for a girl who doesn’t much like kids.
out in public, he attracts children like a magnet--everything from toddlers to preteens, obsessed with the action hero they see on TV, always wanting him to freeze something or set something on fire, which he does so patiently, every time. he talks to them seriously in his low tone, answering the most insane questions--“have you ever hit the sun with your ice wall?”--as though they were perfectly reasonable inquiries.
worse, he seems to attract babies, everyone from izuku & ochako to momo & jirou always fobbing their babies off on him at get togethers. shouto and the baby always stare solemnly back at one another for minutes at a time, until the baby invariably drops off to sleep. you’ve never seen one cry after it’s been put in his arms, and you always end up having to feed him from your plate while he holds them, sometimes for hours.
he’s good with them, you realize. good with all of them, calm and patient when they yank on the fiery red strands of his hair or drop their drooly binkies onto his nice slacks.
it’s cute, and it reaffirms how very steady and trustworthy your boyfriend is.
you’re still not having any, and you’re not about to take over baby holding duty for him.
but it’s cute, or whatever. a hassle, but cute.

This got me thinking. Before the cheating, I headcanon MC talking to ex like when they are watching TV and doing something domestic while talking about the future, they say “since as I was a kid, I always had thought of having a daughter. I want to name her Rose” The ex will go, “like the flower?” MC smiles, “like the flower.” Flashforward, years later. The ex meets MC again, holding their daughter and a wedding ring on their hand. They look happier and lighter than they last saw them. The ex asks, “what’s her name?” MC replied, “Rose.” The ex smiled albeit strained”like the flower?” MC affirmed, “like the flower.”
If the cheating never has happened, they could have a daughter that MC wished for that they would want to name Rose. But that never happened, the affair happened, the divorce happened, then they went to become strangers with memories. They meet each other again, this time MC has someone who had helped them find happiness and made them believe that it’s not too late and now started a family, they have this little girl with MC’s eyes and hair, mixed with features that they weren’t familiar with. The girl’s name was Rose, that name that was so sacred to MC and was their dream that they now made alive. It had become that little girl’s name.
What do you think the ex’s thoughts were before the cheating that MC shared their dreams, and imagine their child? And after the divorce, MC find happiness with someone and MC’s wished daughter has now become their reality, named Rose?
damn😭 you guys really know how to make my heart hurt!!! you know whats interesting? when i came up with all this etc i personally didnt want to include children into the mix because thats just too much pain for me haha. but loads of you actually mention kids in my inbox but yeah guys im sorry its not gonna happen😭 that would just be too upsetting to write and the dynamics would just be too complex and i know i wouldnt be able to do it all justice
anyway... i got a little off topic LOL sorry anon back to your question... i think of your MC and the ex-spouse broached the subject of kids and were both on the same page about it the ex would have smiled at the thought of having them with MC especially seeing how their parents are highschool sweethearts so theyve had something to look up to/go by
if the MC had a child with someone else theyd feel a little sad seeing MC live out their fantasy with someone that isnt them but what would ultimately crush them is the name. especially since it was supposed to be a name that connected the two of you... and to be honest youd probably never see them again cause at that point theyd give up... it would just be too difficult for them and since youre happy now theyd leave you be

I keep thinking of Silvio with his first kid, I feel like he'd end up with either all boys or at least majority boys. But generally thinking how soft he becomes for multiple reasons.
His family life was shit, one parent that manipulated him and the other that openly hated him. No luck with his siblings either, for multiple reasons. He grew up expecting people to only ever want something, specifically money, from him, and it skewed his view on relationships and family so much.
But now, now he has you.
Someone who was so ridiculously honest and and kind-hearted and sassy and stubborn that he had no choice but to fall in love with you. Someone that didn't just want him for his fortune or for special favors, but saw through his difficult sides and defensive nature and need to solve all things with money and accepted him anyway (even if it involved some fighting and arguments along the way).
He never could have predicted having a loving family, someone that treats him like an actual human being and not just a get-rich-quick scheme personified, being willing to touch someone with vulnerability and opening his heart to them. Honestly, part of him expected his work might kill him one day; before you, it probably would have been a blessing to die on the seas with his crew, away from the troubles of his kingdom and the hatred of his family. That, or maybe his thirst would finally consume him, the expensive wines he invested in finally taking him in the end.
It was a selfish thought, because he cared for his kingdom and worked hard to make it strong, that was his responsibility as prince. But sometimes, if he let himself think too long on it, it became too much for him. As much as he spouted that money was all that mattered, his heart still felt differently, and it was killing him inside. But meeting you saved him, in more ways than one.
Bringing you home to Benitoite, introducing you to the nation and the king and queen, getting married, it was all so unreal and like a fantasy. Sometimes Silvio was convinced he was just dreaming a drunken dream, and he'd have to slap himself or pinch himself to make sure it was reality. You did your best to assure him you really were there with him, your love and your warmth was real, but you couldn't blame him for how he felt knowing just a fraction of what he'd been through.
That dream-like feeling continued even as you eventually told him you were expecting, as he watched over the months as your belly grew and felt the small kicks of life. Of course he was happy, but he was terrified, too. Terrified that the only good thing in his life would be ripped away, like so much else, that someone or something would take the last bit of light from him and he'd go back to the half-alive existence he had before. He focused his anxieties into protecting you, staying by your side and holding you close. But sometimes the only things keeping him sane were your touches and your reassurances, reminding him you were always with him, that not even the strongest forces of nature could take you away from him. And he'd melt into your kiss, engraving the feel of your lips and your warmth into his heart so he'd never forget.
Things only stopped feeling like a dream when, after hours of labor and frantic pacing, he was finally holding his son, the newest prince of Benitoite and newest addition to the royal family. Just holding that wrapped, wriggling bundle in his arms, sharp wails of tiny lungs piercing his eardrums, finally cinched it all together. He wasn't adrift anymore, he wasn't ready to die with his boat or from excess drink. He had you, your unwavering love and resilience and wit, and this new life that you'd gifted him, that you'd made together. And he'd be damned if anything was going to take that away from him.
Having a family is foreign to him, a loving partner and a child that seeks him out (he will always think of the first time he heard "da da" and thought his heart would explode). Sometimes many times he worries that he'll do something to fuck it up, that he might act like his father or that you'll come to your senses and leave him for someone better. It takes a lot for him to unlearn these feelings, to work past these anxieties, because he wants to be the best he can be for you and his growing family. But he gets there, trusting in you and in himself that you two have got this, that it'll take more than an army to separate you from the people he cares about.
On occasion, he still thinks about if this is an elaborate dream, although the thought is more one in passing than a legitimate worry these days. But if this is a dream, it's one he never wants to wake up from.

IF ONLY I COULD - E.M
part 1 || part 2 || part 3 || alt ending || masterlist
Tumblr media
Warnings: tons, children, mentions or pregnancy, babies, mentions of trauma, mentions of violence, mental health, difficult familial relations.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Wife!reader
Summary: you and your boyfriend Eddie had been best friends since you could remember and he was the father of your child. How could anything go wrong?
Wordcount: 5.6k
Tumblr media
You woke up that morning to the dull sound of a baby crying in the other room and hit your head against the pillow, knowing you had to get up.
You reached to the left side of the bed for your boyfriend but he wasn't there, instead the bed was cold and the sounds of a baby crying had faded into the distance.
You sat up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes and when you opened them, the sight made you smile. Your boyfriend, Eddie Munson, was standing there holding a little girl in his arms, rocking her back and forth as she stopped crying. He was humming something under his breath, a song that you just so happened to recognise as Master of Puppets. The sight made you smile as you relished in the peace of the morning.
Eddie Munson had been your best friend since you were 3 years old and when you were 15, he had finally admitted all those feelings to you. You were happy, the perfect freaky couple who everyone hated.
Then you graduated, going to a local college as you still lived with your mother and still want to keep in touch with your boyfriend. Then it happened, the accidental pregnancy that you were hours away from aborting but you couldn't, not saying there was anything wrong with it, but you and Eddie had decided that maybe it was a good idea after all.
And now, as you lay in his bed in his trailer, well the trailer you now lived in with his uncle, you knew that you had both made the best decision of your lives.
He turned to you, a smile on his face as he held the now not crying baby in his arms, "Morning princess, you have a nice sleep?" He asked.
You nodded, still caught up in the surreal situation. You had never expected to be 19 years old, turning twenty in a month, and living in a trailer with your best friend, his uncle and your 2 month old baby girl.
"Yeah, don't you have to be at school Ed, first period starts in 10 minutes," you said, sitting back on your haunches as you looked at him.
He sighed, "I know, but she was crying and I couldn't wake you," he said, a soft smile on his face as he looked down at you.
He had changed since the baby had been born, he smoked less, he sold drugs to less people (only friends and devoted customers), had picked up a part time job at the record store to sustain the family and had just become softer.
Of course he didn't change too much, you had fallen in love with the heavy metal playing crazy boy and wouldn't want anything else.
"If you want to graduate and provide for us baby, you're gonna have to go to class," you said, watching as he gently placed your daughter back in her crib at the end of the bed and came to sit next to you.
He groaned, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to him so your head was resting on his shoulder, "I'm passing this class anyway, plus, it's your first day of spring break, I wanted to say hi before you went to your mums tonight,"
Your mum had requested a sleepover with you - which you found hilarious - so you and your baby girl Anna were spending the night at your mother's before spending the whole of spring break with your boyfriend, plus he had a big campaign tonight and would probably come home late.
"Why don't I drive you there? We get some breakfast and then You get to school ready for second period," you suggested.
He sighed, pressing a kiss to your head, "Alright sweetheart, but only for you," he said, leaning in to capture your lips in a kiss again.
You hadn't had enough of this since Anna was born, enough of holding each other at night and kissing until the sun rose again. You missed it, but maybe it was worth it for a little while.
You walked out into the kitchen wearing a corroded coffin shirt that Eddie had made and that was stained with breast milk and food and saw Wayne walk in through the door.
"Morning ma'am," he said, his body fatigued after yet another night shift. He had taken extra shifts after the baby had been born and you both needed more money, he was like a father to you.
"Morning Mr Munson, I'm making eggs and bacon, do you want some?" You asked, getting the ingredients out from the fridge.
Ever since you had moved in a year ago - when Eddie had failed to graduate for the second time - you had made the house more organised and more like a home, something that both Munson men appreciated.
"Nah, the guys ordered some food this morning, I'm just heading off to bed," he said, dropping his bag at the door, "How's Anna?"
"She's good," you said and just on cue, your boyfriend walked out with the baby girl resting against his bare chest.
"Morning Wayne," he said to his uncle, a smile on his face.
Wayne remembered when Eddie had fallen in love with you. He had been 15 and came back from one day at high school with his hair shaggy and growing out and a lopsided grin on his face. When Wayne had asked why he was in such a good mood, Eddie began rambling on about how you had kissed him under the bleachers.
He knew that you two were perfect for one another and it showed.
"Morning kiddo, shouldn't you be at school?" He questioned, eyes narrowed at Eddie.
"Yeah, yeah old man, I know. My girl is driving me after breakfast, plus, I couldn't let go of this thing," he said, a soft tone to his voice as he looked down at Anna.
Wayne smiled at the scene in front of him. He knew how Eddie's father was a bad influence and ruined the family but here, as he watched Eddie press a kiss to the top of your head and sit your daughter down into a high chair, he knew that as his uncle, he must have done something right.
“Well I’ll be off to bed, see y’all later,” he said and you both waved goodbye as he walked into the room across the hall.
Eddie wrapped his arms around you from behind, his face nuzzling into the crook of your neck. He pressed a few kisses to the sensitive skin of your neck, holding you tight against him and you just laughed at his antics.
The domesticity of the act brought up a cosy feeling inside of you. You wish that this moment could last forever because you never wanted to leave his arms, no matter what.
“I love you,” he whispered, “Thank you for giving this life to me,”
Eddie wasn't one to get sentimental or emotional but you had saved him in so many ways. He didn't know what his life would be like right now if he hadn't finally plucked up the courage to ask you out. Would he be a drug dealer, in prison or dead? Would he be depressed because he was never going to be able to graduate high school?
He didn't admit stuff like that openly often and it made you smile as you turned around, looking up at him and brushing his messy hair out of his face.
“I love you too Ed,” you replied, a soft smile on your face.
He placed two fingers underneath your chin, tilting your head up so he could get a better look at you and then he kissed your lips. Before you moved in, all the issues were rough and desperate but this one, it was soft and grounded, bordering on passionate like every one of his kisses did.
You didn't want to let go, to let go of this utopia that you both had but you knew that the breakfast was going to burn if you didn't so you pulled away, resting your forehead against his.
Anna babbled and you both smiled at one another, realising how perfect everything was at this moment.
You finished breakfast and carried Anna into your shared bedroom, grabbing some stuff and Eddie held your hand, pressing a chaste kiss to it.
“I have to go feed her quickly, I’ll be back in a minute,” you said, picking up the baby in your arms.
His brows furrowed, “You normally don't leave,” he stated.
“I know if I take my shirt off in front of you right then you wont make it to school on time,” you said, raising an eyebrow at him.
He smiled, holding his hands up in mock surrender, “You know me too well,” he said with a chuckle, watching as you walked out of the room.
Eddie always thought you deserved better than living in a small trailer right now and even though you never complained, he wanted to give you that white picket fence life he knew you'd always dreamt of.
He was going to graduate, he swore to you that he would. He was going to get a good job with promotions and be able to provide for this family. And it was all for you.
You sat at your mum's house, a cup of tea in one hand as you looked over at your daughter who was fast asleep in the mobile cot next to you. You turned the TV on and saw that one of the local reporters was in the trailer park, standing near your trailer specifically that was surrounded by police and ambulance and angry residents.
"A Hawkins high student has been found dead in the trailer park," the news announced and you wouldn't hear anything else, it was like you were drowning and the words of the reporter were muffled to you.
"Mum, it wouldn't be," you said, your voice breaking as you thought of what could have happened.
The worst ideas began to spin through your mind, making you feel sick to your stomach as you envisioned driving there, having to see Eddie's body lying there, covered in blood. Or to see him against the cop car, hands in handcuffs.
She drove you there and it hurt your head to keep thinking about all of it, that he wasn't going to be alive when you got there. You held your tears the whole time not wanting to cry in front of your mum.
You looked into the backseat of the car at your baby, she was sleeping peacefully, blissfully unaware that her father could be dead.
Your mother parked you a little further down and waited there with Anna whilst you walked down, determination
"I'm sorry ma'am, I can't let you through, this is a crime scene," the man said as he stopped you from walking in.
"Wayne!" You called out and the man turned to you, seeing the determination in your eyes as well as the genuine fear.
"Hey officers, she lives here," he said as he walked over and the man let you through.
Instantly, Wayne pulled you in for a hug, realising how upset you were. He had wanted to call but the only phone was in the house and it was currently an active crime scene.
"Is he okay, my Eddie, is he okay?" You asked, tears brimming in your eyes and he shook his head.
He could hear the shaky tone to your voice and sighed, not wanting you to go through any of this, "We found a girls body in the house this morning, no sign of Eddie,"
You held back a sob, hand clasped over your mouth as all of the worst case scenarios spun through your head, making you dizzy.
You kept thinking back to yesterday morning, the smile on his face and the genuine joy in his laughter. What has gone wrong? What had happened?
He placed a hand on your shoulder but you felt like collapsing, your mind swimming with negativity and your breathing fast. You loved Eddie, more than anything else in the world and now, something bad could have happened to him and you had no way to help. You kept thinking that you should have stayed with him last night.
You heard your last name being called out and turned to see Powell. He was the new chief of police since Hopper had died in the mall fire last year and he wasn't as good but he was learning.
“You are dating Eddie Munson, live with him and share a child with him, that is correct?” he asked, looking down at a sheet. You wondered how much time he had spent researching your past, “Can we talk to you?”
You nodded, following them to a picnic bench that was in the middle of the trailer park, away from the prying ears of the neighbours.
“How long have you been dating Mr Munson?” he asked, sitting down.
You sighed, your heart pounding in your chest, “Uh, just over five years now, I've known him for as long as I can remember,” you explained, watching as he noted it down.
You knew that he already knew about it, that you had moved in a year ago much to your mothers distaste and that you had fallen pregnant around the same time.
“When was the last time you saw Mr Munson?” he asked, and you looked over to see some of the other officers looking around your house, your bedroom. It made you sick.
“Yesterday morning, I drove him to the high school and then went to my mothers house for the night,” you explained. Your heart was racing, scared to accidentally say something incriminating that could hurt Eddie.
Powell nodded, noting it down on his notepad, “And was that a pre-planned event, potentially by Eddie Munson?” he asked.
You scoffed, you knew what he meant, “You think Eddie set it up so that I would be out of the house so that he could commit a murder,” you said, the words sounding like venom on your tongue.
You couldn't believe that someone had instantly jumped to the conclusion that it was him that committed this crime when he wasn't even there to defend himself. You didn't think he did it, not even for a second.
You knew that Eddie wasn't a violent person and the only time he had gotten into a fight was when you had both gone to a party in your senior year and some boy had tried to flirt with you and wouldn't leave so Eddie hit him, the two getting into a fight.
"My boyfriend is not a killer, you have to understand that," you said, tears burning in the back of your eyes.
"I'm sorry Ma'am, we can't confirm that right now," Powell said, a sad look on his face. He hated having to deal with murder cases and after the mall fire last year, he didn't want to have to deal with more deaths.
"You also can't confirm he did it. What if whoever killed Chrissy killed Eddie too? Did you think of that?" You asked.
You felt sick to your stomach at the idea that Eddie could be dead out there, his eyes ripped out of his skull. You hated that you didn't know where he was or if he was okay. You just kept thinking back to this morning, maybe you should have stayed in bed with him longer.
"And what if he loves murder so killed poor Chrissy and ran?" Powell questioned before sighing, "I'm sorry miss, we're just covering our bases,"
"He's got a daughter, he wouldn't run, he wouldn't kill a 17 year old," you said, your face shaky, "Eddie Munson loves me, he loves his baby girl, he loves his guitar, he loves his band, he loves sunsets, he loves heavy metal, he loves microwave meals, he loves his friends, he loves hellfire club, he loves gothic horror book, he loves poorly made films, he loves overcooked pizza. But murder, he doesn't love murder,"
He could tell that you were distraught, tears were welling up in your waterline and your voice was cracking as you defended him to within an inch of your life, you weren’t going to let them believe he was a murderer.
"I'm sorry ma'am, I truly am," Powell said before turning around, ready to walk away.
"This is my home Powell, just let me go grab my stuff," you begged and the chief of police sighed.
"You can get back in when it's not an active crime scene, I'm sorry Ma'am, it's just the rules," he explained.
You sighed, "I need some stuff for the baby, if I give you a list can you get it for me?" You asked and he looked at Calahan before nodding.
She grabbed a pen and a piece of paper, scribbling some stuff down before handing it to him, crossing her arms across her chest.
Powell walked in with the list, freezing as he saw the room. He hadn't expected the boy's bedroom to be like this. Eddie was labelled as demonic and evil but this, this was home.
It was neater than it used to be and there were pictures of you and Eddie on the walls from before Anna was born, pictures of Anna in little frames, a cot by the side of the bed.
He felt guilty for a little bit that he was trying to arrest this boy for murder but he shook it off, instead collecting the basic amenities for the girl.
You sat at your mothers house, your feet tapping against the floor as you looked at Anna who was asleep in the makeshift cot by the sofa. You were going to be staying at your mums until the investigation was over but you still missed your home.
You missed Eddie and the feeling of falling asleep in his arms, of his distinct smell of cigarettes and heavy cologne, you missed the smile that he would give you and your daughter that reached his eyes.
That's when the phone rang. Your mother sighed as she got up, walking over and answering the phone, confused as to the voice on the other end of the line.
"Hey, uh, is Y/N here?" The voice asked and your mother stood at the phone, confused.
"Um, yes, who is this?" She asked, mouthing something to you that you didn't understand. You got up, walking over to the phone as she passed it to you.
"Y/N?" The voice asked and you recognised it as Dustin Henderson, the voice of a boy who Eddie viewed almost like a son or a younger brother.
"Henderson? If you're here to call about Eddie, I know, and I'm sorry but I don't know where he is," you said, leaning against the wall, looking into the other room to where your mum was rocking Anna in her arms.
"That's what I wanted to talk about, we think we know where he is," Dustin said and you smiled, holding the phone tighter to your ear.
"Really? Where?" you asked, your heart pounding in your chest at the idea that you would be able to find him. that he was okay.
"Reefer Rick's, we found his residence near lovers lake, we're going now," he explained.
"Who's we?" you asked, brows furrowed as you leant against the wall.
"Me, Steve, Robin and Max," he explained and though you wanted to ask why he was hanging out with all the people who also wanted to find Eddie, you let it go because what was important was that you could help Eddie.
"Pick me up in 10," you said and he began to protest on the other end of the line but you cut him off, "No buts Henderson, I'm coming,"
"Who was he?" your mum asked once you hung up the phone and you walked back into the room.
"Dustin Henderson. He's one of Eddie's friends from Hellfire, he thinks he knows where he is. He's coming over now," you explained, grabbing your bag and packing your stuff that you would need for Anna.
"There is no way I'm letting you go out there, no way," she said, following you around as she tried to deter you from leaving.
She always thought that eddie was a bad influence so now that he was a murder suspect, it gave her reasons to hate him. You knew that he wasn't a bad person but she never seemed to believe you.
Your mother was a quiet person who enjoyed pool parties where they would eat scones and drink tea and she liked calmer music and nothing that Eddie liked. Eddie liked hard music and house parties and day old pizza that he would reheat in the oven.
"Please mum, I have to find him. He's my everything, I have to clear his name," you tried to plead with her but you didn't need her permission anymore.
You had moved out for two reasons, one, you wanted to live with your best friend and boyfriend so that you could prepare for spending the rest of your lives together. Two, you wanted to get as far away from the controlling household as you could. You loved your mother and always would but you didn't like the way she always wanted you to be perfect and normal.
"He shouldn't have run then," she said harshly and you froze, shocked that she would ver believe that your boyfriend could ever do something like that, "I'm sorry dear, he's a father now, he shouldn't be dealing drugs or killing young girls,"
"We're leaving," you said, grabbing your daughter and holding her against your chest.
"You're not taking your daughter on a man hunt for a potential killer," she objected sharply and you couldmt believe that she'd even entertain the idea of Eddie being a killer.
When your mum had first met Eddie, she wasn't too fond of him and his long hair and metal concerts but she had warmed up to him once she realised he was going to be in her daughters life forever. She still disagreed with his morals and beliefs but it didn't matter as long as he treated you right.
"We'll be back later mum okay," you said. If she thought that Eddie was a killer, then you couldn't spend any more time around her right now. There was no point in fighting and you had to go and find Eddie, that is what is important right now.
"I'm sorry, I don't think he's a killer I'm just, I'm worried about you," she said, trying to reason with you as you began to head towards the door.
"I know you are but I'm a grown woman now, I have to do what's best for my family and right now, that means finding Eddie," you said, smiling at your mother before walking out of the door.
You waited on your porch, too stubborn to apologise to your mother about the argument you two h. You knew she was right, that it was dangerous for you to go looking for Eddie seeing as he is a suspect in a homicide but you couldn't not.
A few minutes later, a car pulled up and Steve rolled down the window, looking at you. He narrowed his eyes as he spotted the travel bag you were carrying in one hand, your baby girl in the other.
“You brought a baby?” Steve asked and you nodded, hopping into the back seat between Dustin and Max. you had known the douchebag that Steve used to be in high school but now he seemed like a good person, someone who wasn't an awful human being - at least that's what Dustin always said.
Dustin smiled at you. He had known you throughout your whole pregnancy and was close with Eddie so you two were close and he loved Anna, always willing to watch the baby for an hour or two if you needed to go shopping or have a shower and Eddies at work or studying.
The drive was silent and it was almost uncomfortable. Nobody seemed to want to talk to you because they were scared of your reaction to the incidents they had faced. They assumed something supernatural had to do with this attack and knew they would have to explain it to you and Eddie eventually.
Your knee was bouncing up and down in the seat from nervousness. You couldn't help but be worried about how Eddie would react to seeing you again. You wondered if he was okay or even alive and it made your heart hurt at the idea of him not being okay.
When you zoned back into what was going on, you smiled at the sight of Dustin who was entertaining the baby on your lap, giggling when she did. She may have only been two months old but she seemed so mature, already smiling all the time.
When you arrived, you explained that Reefer rick had been in jail for a few months now so his house would be empty. Dustin checked through the windows anyway before Robin suggested the big shed round the back.
You walked back, shushing your baby girl as she was now wide awake. You didn't want your cover to be blown or for any locals to notice you were around and get suspicious; not like there were many locals anyway.
“Is anyone home?” Dustin called out as he walked into the shed.
Your daughter babbled as you held her to your chest and you shushed her, looking around at the mess that was Reefer Ricks shed.
“Look, there's food here, maybe he got spooked and ran,” Max said and you walked over, looking at the food. You knew he must have been here, you couldn't give up hope that he was not dead.
Steve began prodding at a boat covered with a tarp with an oar, him and Dustin arguing with one another about how they've almost died hundreds of times. You sort of shrugged it off but were still confused about it.
All of a sudden, a figure jumped out from under the tarp, pressing stve up against the wall with a knife to his neck. You recognized the tattoo creeping out from underneath his shirt and his long unruly hair that seemed matted, probably because he'd been running his hand through it constantly. It was Eddie.
“Eddie!” you exclaimed and he turned back to look at you, his eyes vacant as he took in the sight of you, Dustin and the baby.
It was almost like he didn't believe that you were really there, that he was going crazy and you were just a figment of his imagination, “Its us, that's just Steve, he's not gonna hurt you,” Dustin said, “Why don't you drop the oar steve,”
Steve nodded, dropping the oar but Eddie panicked at the noise, pressing the knife further to Steve's neck, the boy wincing.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, his voice strained, breaking slightly. He was shaking as he held the knife against Steve and you knew that something bad had happened, he hadn't been this shaky since you gave birth to Anna and had complications.
“We're here to help,” Dustin reasoned, his arms held up almost in surrender.
“Its okay Eddie, were here,” you said, beginning to approach him and he froze at the sound of footsteps against the floor, “It's me honey, its us,”
Eddie turned his head to the side, big brown eyes meeting yours and you smiled. Anna cooed, arms reaching out as she recognised her father, a wide smile on the baby's face.
He dropped the knife, Steve scrambling away and back to the group. Eddie was frozen in place, eyes flickering between you and Anna as he took in the sight of both of you, safe.
“Hi baby,” you said, a soft smile on your face.
He engulfed you both in a hug, careful of his baby girl as his head fell into the crook of your neck, just relishing in the sense of comfort he had from just being in your presence.
He had spent the last 24 hours being horrified that something had happened to you or Anna and now, he just wanted to hold you tight and make sure that nothing ever happened to you.
“It's okay Ed, you're safe honey, you're safe, we’re safe,” you reasoned with him and he nodded, stifling a sob as he looked at you.
Anna babbled to herself, a grin on her face as she reached her hands up for her father, her hands tangling themselves into his hair. It brought a grin to his face, a vacant one but a smile nonetheless.
“Hey baby girl, daddy missed you,” he said before looking up at you, “Can I hold her?”
“She’s your daughter too Munson,” you said and he nodded, worry evident in his eyes as he held her in his arms, inhaling the familiar smell of his daughter. His eyes were brimming with tears as he gently held her in his arms, hand supporting her head.
He was scared he would hurt her like Chrissy had been hurt but just the soft touch of the little girl made his shoulders become less tense and he tried to forget the images of what had happened last night.
The other four looked confused. They had always seen the confident and outspoken non conformist Eddie Munson who walked over tables at lunch time and didn't come to parties unless he was providing drugs.
This was a different side of him. He was soft and gentle as he held the little girl in his arms, a broad grin on his face as he whispered to her, the girl babbling back incoherently but it just made him smile even more. You had your hand on his shoulder, looking down at the little family you were fighting so hard to keep.
“Thanks for finding me,” he said, his voice quiet as he never took his eyes off of his daughter.
“It was Dustin who found you actually, I kind of ran away from home again,” you explained.
He chuckled, eyes leaving the big brown eyes of his daughter (that she had inherited from him) to look at the Henderson boy, “Thanks man,” he said and Dustin nodded.
“Eddie, what happened with Chrissy,” Dustin asked and Eddie shook his head, a wince-like expression on his face.
“You wont believe me,” he said, shaking his head.
“Try us,” Max said.
He sat down and you sat next to him, Anna in your lap. You were starting to think that this was a bad idea to bring the baby with you but you saw that she was making Eddie more comfortable.
He explained everything, how Chrissy had asked for drugs and because he knew her older brother, he had agreed. Then he explained about what had happened to her body as she died, her bones breaking as she floated up in the air.
You placed your hand in his and he sighed, taking a deep breath as he tried to explain all that had happened.
“I didn't know what to do so I ran away, as far as possible,” he explained, tears burning in the back of his eyes.
The group were listening intently to the words, sharing knowing glances between each other that you didn't quite understand.
“What I’m about to tell you might be difficult to take,” dustin said as he looked at both of you, “You know how some people say that Hawkins is cursed, they're not way ogg,”
He explained all about the upside down, how it would bleed into this world and that was what had happened to all these people who have died in the past few years.
Dustin hated that he had to bring you and Eddie into this, that you couldn't just be oblivious about it and leave this wretched town forever. Eddie would always talk about his girlfriend and daughter and he knew how much they meant to him so now, putting them in danger, he felt very guilty.
“Like ghosts and shit?” Eddie asked, his hand grasping yours for some sort of stability in the midst of all this craziness.
“They're worse than ghosts, and if they're back then we need to know,” Dustin explained and you could barely wrap your head around it.
He asked more questions about dust particles or anything weird going on but you kept thinking about how these kids had gone through so much because of this cursed town, you wanted to get out of the hell hole even more.
“No, Chrissy just wouldn't move, like she was in a trance or a curse or something,” he said, looking up at him.
“Vecna's curse,” Dustin stated and you remembered the villain from the camagins that Eddie had been so focused on for the last few weeks. Steve asked who Vecna was and Dustin sighed “An undead creature of great power, a dark wizard,”
The group began to talk and you just turned to Eddie, rocking Anna in your arms, “Come home with me Eds, I'm worried about you," you said, his hand coming up to rest on your cheek.
"You don't have to be, I'm going to be fine here. You need to go home, I can't drag you down with me," he said and she sighed.
"I'll come back tomorrow, I promise," you said.
He leaned in, pressing a kiss to your lips, "I don't doubt it sweetheart," he whispered.

Bartender comes from a big family? Can I ask how they'd feel about having a big family with mc 🥺
they do!!! I think theyd love to ultimately settle down and have a family of their own. but because theyve already experienced a household filled with lots of kids, im not sure if theyd be super ecstatic about having a bunch themselves, just because they wouldnt deem it possible to allocate enough time to each child (which is a must for them). theyd definitely want to compromise though, so theyd meet the MC somewhere in the middle (2/3). definitely no more than 3 rascals running wild though haha
