Fun fact: Despite being one of the main characters, Demitri Maximoff has had scant appearances in the Capcom vs. line of titles for one specific reason: his Signature Move Midnight Bliss. When it hits, Demitri changes his opponent into a genderbent version (if they are male) or a more cute/sexy version (if female) before sucking the life out of them. It works for Darkstalkers, which has an over the top tone and lots of non human characters to fight against. Plus the small roster of those titles makes it easy to make specific sprites for that one move. Midnight Bliss becomes much more difficult to apply to later games, which can have massive rosters and each character needing a model just for one attack that only lasts a few seconds. It becomes more of an issue if Capcom has to go through other companies like Marvel Comics or Tatsunoko Production to get approvals for female designs just for one attack. At the same time, it's not like Capcom could cut Midnight Bliss from his moveset, as it's so iconic to him. As a result, Demitri is usually benched in crossovers with Morrigan and Felicia representing the Darkstalkers series. The only crossover games that Demitri has appeared playable in have been Capcom Fighting Evolution, SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, and Project × Zone (which doesn't feature Midnight Bliss at all). It should be noted the latter two titles were not developed by Capcom.
