Glamrock Foxy and his Crew

While I don't think I'll have anything with Foxy for my Glamrock Kids- multiplayer au thing, I do have ideas for him.

TLDR: Cap'n Foxy served as the Pizzaplex's unofficial babysitter before the Superstar Daycare was built. Between this and his increasingly popular theater show (Cap'n Foxy's Pirate Adventure), it was decided he would be given two additional crewmates, Bangle and Bitty.

Serving as an extra pair of eyes and ears for Foxy, they help out in the theater show as well as fulfill duties the other animatronics are too large for, such as finding lost kids or helping run scavenger hunts across the Pizzaplex.

The Chaos Twins also live up to their Pirate heritage (much to everyone's chragrin) and have particularly sticky fingers.

COMMISSIONS OPEN

I choose to believe that Cap'n Foxy is normally a part of the pizzaplex, but during the events of the game was temporarily moved to a separate location to run shows there.

Cap'n Foxy is in charge of Pirate's Cove in addition to the Pirate Adventure Show.

The Pirate Adventure show's served as entertainment between the Glamrock concerts as well as a draw in for the older audience

shows ranged from thrilling acrobatics feats to comedic high sea adventures

these occasionally would have guest stars, most commonly Monty (this slowed down when he became an official Glamrock as opposed to the understudy)

there was a running joke where Foxy would accuse Monty of eating his hand and Monty would deny it with increasingly absurd alibis

he'd also assist Chica in her water show (Chica of the Sea) before that was shut down, serving as the villain

his hook can be exchanged for a hidden foldable sword hidden in back behind his coat in addition to a regular sword for his hand

he has two functioning eyes, tho the right one is typically only after flash photography (allowing him a quicker recovery time)

despite him being an older model, he is the fastest of the animatronics (excluding perhaps Bonnie)

before the Superstar Daycare was built, Pirates Cove was where parents would leave their younger kids for the day

likes puzzles- has a small stash hidden in his "room" in Pirate's Cove that he'll break out on occasion

HATES Parts and Service with a burning passion

it got to the point where he learned how to repair himself (and the others to a limited extent) just so he didn't have to go

with his increased popularity (and increased children being dropped off at Pirate's Cove, it was decided that Foxy was to be given "crewmates"

no one consulted him on this- Bangle and Bitty were just presented to him one weekend

Bangle and Bitty serve as Foxy's extra eyes in Pirate's Cove in addition to being his assistants in addition to being genia pigs for potential upgrades in the other animatronics

their smaller size allows them to access hiding places kids like to stow away in*

they also can be sent through out the pizzaplex to help out with the other attractions (Fazzerblast, Raceway, Gator Golf, etc) when they get overcrowded with guests

this requires a costume change per area

however, they have a programming bug: the only person (human or animatronic) they have to listen to is Foxy himself. Foxy thinks this is hilarious

Bangle

the unoffical "bard" of the group, Bangle is the one to provide the extra dramatic music in the middle of a show** when necessary

they can connect their instruments to a small speaker in their chest cavity

their voice box has the most range of vocals (prototype to Chica's), allowing them to fill different roles for the show as well, though they commonly work as Bitty's straight man

this has led to some confusion with guests as to whether or not they are supposed to be a male or a female (the answer is Yes.)

their joints have a unique locking system

any part of their body can be easily removed or reinstalled when unlocked (when locked they are slight less sturdy than a typical endo's joints but serve their purpose)

they can connect to them wirelessly and still have (limited) control

has a running gag on the show of "falling apart" particularly when they are stressed out or worried

occasionally takes off head and makes fun of shakespeare

is not fond of toddlers or infants

outside of shows, is given free roam of the Pizzaplex as a rule (so long as Pirate's Cove isn't too busy)

LOVES photobombing guest's pictures with Bitty

Left eye had to be replaced early on after they lost it mid-show (crashed a touch too hard into the stage set). That eye is far more sensitve to light, being designed for btter night vision

Bitty

smallest of all the animatronics in the Pizzplex (excluding Mini Musicman and perhaps Helpy if he counts)

they work with Bangle to bring the kids upstage and get them involved

Bitty rarely speaks of their own accord

typically they express themselves through sound effects projected from their chest speaker

Additionally, they can connect to the pizzaplex intercom system and have a microphone that allows stead or security to make impromptu announcements wherever they are out

through this they can make fake impromptu announcements through out the pizzaplex in any of the other Animatronic’s voices

eyes were upgraded to have better night vision and depth perception after crashing into Bangle too many times on a landing during Pirate Adventure's dimmer lit shows. (these were the prototypes for Roxy's eyes)

increases light sensitivity BUT their aim and accuracy has never been better

thinks Roxy is cool and so regularly steals her makeup

the pirate obsessed with treasure, Bitty has a bad habit of stealing things from both their fellow animatronics and the staff

they have hidey-holes across the pizzaplex crammed to the brim with stuff ranging from anywhere to staff badges to Freddy's top hat to enormous bags of Faz tokens

fond of riddles, if answered correctly they give out prizes (usually a large bag of faztokens but if a guest gives a particularly clever/funny answer they'll give them rarer items)

Ohhh the newest dad cove post the pregnant mc is so so good,,,,, rip though imagine just how clingy this makes him oh my god. (late riser mc) he’s constantly falling asleep on the couch next to you when it gets later, hand on your back or around your middle whether you’re showing yet or not because he can’t stand the idea of you needing something but not waking him up ‘cause he’s in bed(especially when you have bad “morning” sickness).

or something that absolutely makes my blood pressure absolutely skyrocket is strangers being touchy, (he’d obviously not be like? weird about it like if you want to let family or friends feel the baby kick; he’s honestly just nodding along with the biggest goofy-proud smile like “it’s the coolest thing ever right???”) but if random strangers are getting touchy or pushy because they seem to think pregnant people are free real estate? just this big ass man getting physically between the two of you and completely shutting them down without a word? 1000/10.

also rip mc but I myself am a Cove suprise twins truther and not gonna lie to anyone but unless you are well above average size? rip mc. late second trimester and on is just a mess because like the other post said? all fun and games having a giant husband until giant baby time. man is so conflicted(for a multitude of reasons tbh because if one baby almost being here wasn’t overwhelming enough? two?) because on the one hand there’s almost a twinge of guilt because you’re so sore and tired and sick of having to pee every five seconds, but also, not even a sexual(or maybe just a little) thing but some part of his brain is like you said just? that’s his baby- his babies, like it hits him so much that you are literally carrying his kids that you two made together and you trust him enough to be by your side and be your kids’ dad?? and sometimes he’s looking at you with big wet eyes and wobbly lips while you’re trying to hunt down the current craving and you panic that he’s crying, and when he explains… oh now you’re crying because of hormones being out of wack and he’s too sweet for this.

I LOVE YOU ANON. WE ARE THE SAME. literally sharing all my thoughts rn pls... i love the thought of my mc n cove having 1 kid (thru adoption) and their first pregnancy/baby being twins. just instantly throws them into the boiling pot of parenthood

n omg he's so fucking clingy after you get pregnant. if you're not a hugger, you are now. because he needs to be around you n touching you, he fucking loves you so much and just needs to touch n kiss n hold you

omfg, tries to feel the baby kick or anything like that before it's even possible. instantly starts talking to your baby before they're even supposed to be able to hear

if you're still sleeping, or napping, he'll cuddle up near your stomach and strokes the area, tracing hearts and stars and such, talking about how much he loves you. how great you are. tells funny stories from your shared childhood, tells your baby/babies about their future aunts n uncles n grandparents.

they're gonna be so loved.

n if you wake up in the middle of him doing this, try to stay still and listen because then he goes on about how much he loves the babe/s and how he's gonna take care of them, and you, and he'll protect n love them n he daydreams out loud about all the milestones, all the way up to their weddings which just makes him cry

you might even catch him rambling about how he'll make sure they never feel insecure, or like a burden, or anything like that, especially any feelings or thoughts he had from his childhood.

and yeahh, he'd be so overwhelmed and freaked out if your first pregnancy is TWINS!! he gets anxious. because now there's a double chance of failure. he's just so afraid for your future, and even if you're anxious and afraid too now with the news, he does calm down even if you don't comfort him.

bouncing your anxieties off each other, makes him realize you're both going towards a good path. if you're already worried about X, Y, and Z, then you know you're on the same page, and while parenthood is unpredictable.. your beliefs and wishes for your family are certain

takes a deep breath n just promises you it'll be okay. you'll figure it out. you can worry through parenthood together. and you'll figure it out together.

does call his dad and he talks to cove, helps him with his anxieties, etc.. it helps him relax when cliff says that, while cove was a very happy accident, at least he's prepared unlike he and kyra were. this was something you wanted, prepared for. that all the mental preparation, is the best it'll get and now you have to figure it out together, and that he, kyra, and your moms are here to help you figure it out.

n omg cove feeling bad about you being sore, tired, exhausted from the baby totally rearranging your guts and pressing against your bladder like a meat press.

always offers you massages, foot rubs. and helps you do any maintenance, like helping you shave or doing your names, put on lotion, etc. since your stomach is getting too big to work around

helps you put on your shoes if you need, too. he brings you all the snacks (ends up trying your cravings too. in fact, HE has cravings n now both of you are scrambling for the car and end up sitting in the parking lot eating whatever weird combo one of you thought of)

and you're so right about him finding you attractive when you're pregnant, not necessarily sexual like you said although it has undertones. in fact, since we're talking about it. it's kinda like they're satisfied they made their mark on you LOL

which in that case... cove probably doesn't even realize how.. happy. he is. that whenever you leave the house, people can easily see you have someone at home waiting for you. that you're taken.

literally read an article about men's thoughts on their pregnant wives, and they're so interesting (can't get over the guy saying ["my wife still doesn't believe i found her sexy during her pregnancy. i saw what a baby did to her and it just made me want to fill her with more."])

n their increased attraction all seems to come back to their wife carrying their baby, and their body getting bigger. not even just her boobs and butt, loves how her tummy gets bigger during the pregnancy, loves the stretches marks because it's a sign of the hard work she did carrying their baby

he just loves everything about you. loves your glow, your scent, your whole look.

also like i said before, pregnancy just kinda flipped a primal switch in cove's brain. happens to pretty much every man on the planet. loves when you ask him for help because you're too pregnant to do it. or if you call him "daddy", "papa" or something along those lines, just messing with him (same way guys will call you "mama"), he has to grip the counter n take a minute because omfg... he's a dad. he's your babies dad. even if you don't call him that, has to take a breather if you bring him up like that.

is so fucking ecstatic about you calling him your babies father that he will probably fall on the floor crying n throwing up like. he's insane.

ohhh and he'd just be at your beck and call the further along you get. imagine him with his arm wrapped around your waist or shoulder, just keeping you secure in his grip as you cross the road.

just becomes so much more protective. subtly of course, not overboard like growling n hissing but yknow he keeps you close, keeps an eye out.. etc.

oh and you're so right about him putting himself between you n touchy stranger number 8123901. even if you tell him it's okay, he still checks you out to see if you're uncomfortable.

but lets be real, i can't see many daring to get handsy and pushy with your over 6 foot, somewhere 'round 200lbs, husband next to you. that'd just be stupid.

so don't be afraid to just drag him to the store to be your shield LOL

still, even though he relaxes a bit as your pregnancy progresses and to strangers, he seems pretty relaxed and cool n all that. does go home with you and can't help but cry because you look so cute, and your family is increasing, n it's just all so much. he's a big baby still

When operational, the Toy redesign to Foxy had two counterparts. Both animatronics were intended to be the main childcare attendant for kids cove. They would come in and out of the cove-not always hosting together. They both represented two halves of playtime- with the more feminine, older-acting, and calm Foxy being a storyteller, would assign kids crafts, or coriograph plays and dress up centers with the kids; the more masculine, fast paced, and often ‘bratty’ acting foxy would play games that would require physical actions like tag, duck duck goose, red rover, etc.

For a while it was never established what their relationship with each other really was, as according to some staff and the main stage show; they’re reffered to as one entity-making it possible that Foxy was gender neutral and/or had a split personality. However, as the characters began to be developed more, staff started referring to them as ‘the twins’ and they started getting shows where they co-exist and interact, having a relationship similar to Ragedy Ann and Andy. That being said they’re both still referred to as ‘Foxy’

They were both easily exchangeable with one-another’s limbs and body parts, had easily removable clothes, and had accesable wardrobes so kids could dress them up.

I absolutely love how you guys made the MC more or less a blank slate, I find having a set appearance and solid personality to be a little bit jarring, but the way you are going to do it seems really good!

Btw, have you guys already found a proof-writer? If not, will you make a post searching for one or will you hire someone that you find online? Just curious since I'd be interested in the position.

About the MC, I (as the writer) wanted to try and create a balance between 'the player can insert their own headcanons' and 'the MC has their own personality, dreams and aspirations', because I find the latter more engaging and easy to both write and empathize with. River has some established traits about them that the player can choose how to 'channel', but there's also quite the amount of things that are never specified about them, which I think helps create this balance. You will be able to test this in the demo, so I hope we can get a nice amount of feedback about it!

✦ About proofreading—we want to hire a proofreader, but sadly I'm not sure if we'll be able to properly pay for one with our current funds. All the donations we get on our ko.fi page are destined for this, but reality is the demo script is long and we want to pay people what their work is worth. There's a bunch of options we can weigh (and we still have plenty of time), but there's a chance the demo script will not be 'officially' proofreaded and we'll wait to get funded to hire someone to both revise the prologue and the rest of the game!

Also, now that you have brought up the MC's appearance, I will take the opportunity to talk a bit about our plans so far! I hope you don't mind, anon! 💜

✦ The MC's physical appearance?

Our current plan is to not have any visual depictions of the MC in the demo, but create a 'default' River for the full game so the CGs can be more diverse and include direct interactions between the MC and the LIs / the world. Note that we won't force the player to 'have to see' the MC on screen all the time if we end up choosing to depict them.

Following this train of thought, we would like to add a Kickstarter backer pledge that includes designing and adding a custom MCs as a 'default' option, and even a character creator whose customization is reflected in the CGs as a stretch goal. This is what we really, really would like to do; for the player to be able to customize the appearance of the MC however they desire (to a certain limit). Emphasis on ' would like to', because it's certainly ambitious and not an easy or cheap task. So these are just dreams and wishes for now.

Obviously, both depicting the MC or not doing it has its pros and cons, and we want to seize all options, listen to opinions and then settle on something. There's a lot of devs who have approached this in different, creative ways, so I know we have options and combinations out there.

In fact, Twin Coves' dev is now running a poll about this that you can find here!

Our plan is just that, a plan; it's not set in stone, and after the demo drops, we will make a poll to see how many of you would like one option vs the other and get to know your opinions. As of the demo, the MC won't have an established appearance and that is official, so rest assured that we will have time to listen to you all and assess our options.

Romance in Twin Coves

Something I've been thinking about while working on the script for Twin Coves is how the romance works. I think I've talked before about how the romance in the game isn't just about flirting with the ROs enough. It's about who the MC is as a person, and thus not all ROs are going to fall for every MC. (You will know about halfway though the game if your MC has caught your desired RO's eye.)

I read an article awhile ago about treating romance in games like kindness coins vs a house of cards. (The article was here, but it now directs to a 404 page sadly.) With kindness coins... you just say the "right" thing the correct amount of times and voila romance unlocked. And that's a fine way to do romance. Certainly makes it easier on the writer. But that's not really how romance... works.

Saying the "right" thing to someone 15 times in real life doesn't equal romance. What about who you are as a person? What about who they are? Do you have things in common? How do you treat other people? Just complimenting someone, saying flirty things, and giving them a gift isn't how real love works.

Something I'm trying (emphasis on trying) to do in Twin Coves is have the romances be based on more then just saying a nice thing to get a point towards winning over the RO of your choice. The choices the MC makes throughout the game outside of the romance also effect the romance. Even little things like the song they pick in the car.

Of course, some ROs are easier to woo than others. That's true to life as well. Some ROs already have feelings for the MC, so there is probably very little the MC could do to ruin that. Some ROs are quite determined to keep their feelings out of it, and will take more effort. Not just flirting, but getting to know them and them getting to know the main character back. Building up a sense of trust. There is one RO who is very difficult to romance. I think it may even make some players mad as there is a very strict requirement for entering into a romance with him I don't think some players will want to make. (Actually, there's probably a couple that fit this description.) However, that's also true to life. Some things are deal breakers, for either the MC or the RO. Good news: there's eight other routes to pick from!

And, in a similar vein, not every route is going to appeal to everyone. You may have thought Eli was hot, for example, only to realize he's not for you once you get to know him. Or maybe a route you thought you'd hate will surprise you. That's definitely happened to me a few times. I put off a route thinking I wouldn't like the RO... only for that route to become my favorite.

This is also why there are no flirt indicators in the game. Because there are no kindness coins. I don't want players to think about choices as right or wrong - only as what's true to their MC. You may be surprised as to who you attract. Also, any option that is romantic is going to be pretty obvious. I also don’t want players to feel they have to make a certain romantic choice to win their RO over. Whether you go in for a kiss or feel it’s more true to the MC to wait… the RO isn’t going to be secretly keeping score on you.

(I am keeping score though. Just don’t look too far behind the curtain. Point systems are the only way I know how to program. I just don’t want it to feel like a point system, ya know?)

Arkhelios Adventures

Remy stared in her brother's direction, trying to make him do something fun by sheer force of will. All Adam did all day was mope and read, and sharing a room with him was beginning to grate on her nerves.

Adam moved, and Remy had a brief moment of hope where she though he might do something interesting. She was immediately let down however, when he simply grabbed a school book and started to read. Remy had thought sharing a room with him briefly as a kid had been rough, but she was wrong. Her younger twin brother had the exciting life of a shriveled up old warlock whose main excitement in life was the daily crossword puzzle. Clearly Theo had been a large part of Adam's adventurous side and if he didn't come back to make her brother fun again, she had the feeling that Adam would forever be as dull as he was now.

"A book? Why are you doing schoolwork? It's after hours and you could be doing anything! Literally, anything. Why don't you watch a movie or whatever you think is fun? Teenagers have fun, boring ass adults do schoolwork after class. You're only young once, Adam and you're blowing it."

"I don't know, it's hard to say what's fun these days. Theo liked watching movies with me. The really scary ones so he'd have to hold me when we watched them. Everything I could do, I did it with him first. Reading about magic might be the only way I can see him again. If I want to, that is."

"That's it! I can't take any more of this. You stay here and die of old age, while you figure out if you still love your boyfriend. I'm going to have fun. At least one of us should."

Remy cast a quick spell to freshen her makeup and hair, daring her brother to say something. Anything.

"Where are you going? You know you're not supposed to leave the school grounds," Adam cautioned. "Dad will be pissed if he finds out."

"No, he won't. He'll never catch me and if he ever did, I could just blame your constant moping making me insane. Seriously, if you went downstairs to even have a game of chess with a stranger, Dad would probably throw a party of his own."

"He would not," Adam grumbled defensively. "I'm not that bad."

"Yeah, you are," Remy confirmed, looking at her phone. "Don't worry, I have some fun planned for you despite your aversion to anything interesting. You can't just stay in here mourning Theo forever."

"Oh god, what have you done now, Remy?" Adam groaned. "I don't need your idea of fun. That usually leads to hangovers and possible academic suspension."

"You'll see," she teased, putting on a revealing dress in an instant and rechecking her hair. "I got your boy crush's phone number, why don't you try entering it on your new phone? Oh wait, I already did while you stared at the wall all day."

"Boy crush?" Adam repeated. "I don't have any crush, you're being deluded again."

"I've seen the way that you look at Josh from Crystal Cove," Remy laughed. "Oh, Josh, help me find this rare crystal. Josh, do you want to help me study? My boyfriend just can't answer questions like you can. Let's have little crystal babies together."

Remy made an obnoxious kissing noise and Adam whipped a pillow at her.

"That's not true!" he shouted. "Josh and I are just friends. He's dating someone from Arkhelios!"

"Just like you, see this is working out," Remy replied. "You have so much in common. I told him that you wanted to spend some alone time to talk about rocks and he was into it. Dad might not have told you, but he called the coven nearly every day after you got hurt. He likes you."

"Remy! You didn't!"

Adam's mind reeled as he thought of the damage Remy had done. Josh was an attractive, powerful warlock who Adam looked up to. He was a couple years older than Adam and currently had a boyfriend in college, Melvin Jr Hydes. Josh and Melvin always seemed so happy together, just like he and Theo used to be and the thought of Josh thinking that Adam wouldn't respect that relationship was horrible.

It wasn't like Remy was too off base though, if Adam was honest with himself. Josh was the great-nephew of the king of Strangetown and was named after Master Toyonaga, someone he had always longed to have as a teacher. In an alternate world, Adam would learn under Master Toyonaga and continue to pursue crystal magic as a major. The fact that Josh would also be there was just a bonus.

Josh didn't make Adam feel like he did when he was with Theo, but Adam could still feel his heart race when Josh helped him with a project. The fact that Remy had picked up on this fact was dangerous. If she knew about his silly crush, how obvious was it to everyone else? Did Josh know? Did Theo?

"Hey, Adam. I was just wondering if you wanted to do something together? Your sister said you might want to hang out?"

Adam's heart froze in his chest when he saw Simon Toyonaga appear in their doorway, looking optimistic. From the way his sister was beaming, Adam assumed that this visit was also her idea. Had she invited every member of the Toyonaga family in their age group to cheer him up?

"Remy!" Adam hissed, unsure if he was more angry or terrified by his sister's meddling. How on earth was she doing all of this?

"Oh, hi, Simon," Remy said sweetly. "Good timing. I was just going out and Adam could use some company. His boyfriend is still missing and he's feeling so hurt by him. Maybe you could cheer him up."

"Yeah, I can try," Simon said eagerly. "What do you want to do?"

Behind Simon's back, Remy was making obscene gestures with her hands, giving her brother suggestions for what they could do in her absence.

"Remy! Uh, yeah, I guess we could go for a walk or something," Adam said politely. It wasn't Simon's fault that Remy was out of control.

Simon was cute, and even Adam could figure out that Simon had a crush on him. Theo had always acted like he was oblivious to this fact if he did know. Unlike his father, there weren't several family stories about Theo going mad with jealousy and taking his anger out on people who simply looked at his partner. Roman was always the parent who made Adam nervous when he was at Theo's house because he was so predictably unpredictable. There was no way that Adam could picture Theo dumping Simon into a section of the Void because Adam thought he was attractive. No matter how Theo eventually returned to him, Adam knew that Simon would be safe if Remy tried to convince Theo that something had happened while he was gone.

But i thought that he would never hurt me. Maybe the Theo I thought I knew never really existed.

"It's nice out here," Simon commented.

After forcing Remy to go to her party or whatever she had planned so that she'd leave him alone, Adam and Simon had walked in near silence down to the outdoor balconies. Simon watched Adam in case he wobbled or needed assistance, but it wasn't needed. The majority of his physical wounds had healed, though Adam supposed that people couldn't have known that if they never saw him out in public.

"I never really come out here at night," Simon continued awkwardly. "It's peaceful."

"Theo and I always sat out here. You can see a lot of cool birds and there's a pretty good view of some of the royal residences."

"So, uh, do you know when Theo will be back in school?" Simon asked carefully. "Is he coming back? I've heard a lot of conflicting things."

"He'll be back," Adam promised. "Evren might burn down the school if he doesn't. All the adults talk in hushed whispers when Theo's mentioned, so I'd imagine that something is happening. Maybe he'll come back early."

"So you are still dating him? Remy made it sound like-"

"Remy doesn't know what she's talking about," Adam said quickly. "I don't know how I'll feel when I see him again, but I owe it to him to not break up with him while he's not here to know that we're done. Remy means well, but sometimes she goes too far."

"That's admirable," Simon replied. "Theo's lucky to have you...that is if you decide to stay together. Relationships aren't easy."

"No, they're not," Adam agreed. "I learned that the hard way."

"So what are you up to lately?" Simon asked, redirecting their conversation away from the topic of Theo. "You miss a lot of class, are you having trouble keeping up? I can always try to help, though my grades have never been as good as yours. Do you have any hobbies?"

Adam paused, trying to think of a response.

"No, not really. I haven't been doing much of anything lately. It's too hard to focus on anything but Theo...and everything that happened."

"You like crystals, though, don't you?" Simon pressed. "You made Theo that ring he's always showing off and I remember your year-end project from last year. It was the prototype for a new wand, right? Did you ever get that to work?"

Adam frowned, unsure of the answer to that question.

"I don't know, I dropped it after I could use the Maricourt wand," he replied. "To be honest, I've kinda forgotten about it. My dad gets upset if I don't show off the Maricourt wand in class."

"Well, what would you rather wield? I like my trusty carved wand personally. I don't think I'll ever use the Maricourt wand after I can summon it. It's bulky and too much of a hassle."

"Yeah, I've never really thought about it," Adam said. "It's just what my dad told me to do. It's tradition. It's how you prove yourself to the coven." He paused. "Now that you mention it, the Maricourt wand is bulky and hard to maneuver. I smacked myself in the head a few times when i first tried to cast a proper spell with it."

"You worry too much about what adults think," Simon declared, staring up at the night sky. "Forget about Theo for now and focus on yourself. I mean, that's what he's doing, isn't he? He's finding out who he is and how to be that person going forward and you're just crying about him. I'm not trying to be mean, Adam, but you should use this time to grow in your own power. Try something new. Take a risk."

Adam thought carefully about this advice. Sure, Remy and his father had told him basically the same thing, but it felt different coming from an outsider to their family. Maybe he really was missing a silver lining with Theo's absence. When Theo came back, did he really want to see his boyfriend miserable and barely leaving his dorm room? Adam's body and magical skill had been transformed and he wasn't even experimenting with his abilities or how they could interact with the power of crystals. Why did he use the Maricourt wand in class when he could barely feel the difference in magical power when he used it? His magic had always felt amplified when channeled through a crystal prism. Whenever he searched for his limited connection to Theo, a crystal wand always made him easier to find. His feelings for Theo always seemed to be perfectly in tune with a crystal, vibrating together with perfect clarity.

"You're right," Adam said slowly, a powerful thought beginning to crystalize in his mind. "No one is going to bring Theo back here or let me talk to him. If I want to get closure, I need to find Theo myself."

"I'm not sure that was my point exactly," Simon replied. "You should find out about yourself and then when you're ready-"

"I can feel him faintly. If I could get a wand that would amplify that, I might be able to talk to him. I could take charge of this situation and fix all of this."

For the first time in months, the tightness in Adam's chest began to ease. Why was he sitting around waiting for someone else to bring Theo back to him? He had all the tools he needed to try to fix this. He was so preoccupied with all the changes that had happened to him, that he'd forgotten all the things that had stayed the same. He was connected to Theo magically, which not only gave him a clue to find Theo, but also borrowed some of Theo's insane power for himself. He was a Maricourt and a Darktide and he could do whatever he put his mind to.

"You're right, Simon!" Adam exclaimed, feeling hope trickle back into his heart for the first time in months. "I know just who to help me find Theo."

"Please don't tell your sister that this was my idea," Simon whimpered. As much as he liked Adam, he was rightfully frightened of Remy, Bronwen and Elowen. If they thought that he had influenced their brother into something rash and dangerous, Simon was doomed.

Adam summoned one of his practice wands for dueling class and immediately waved it in a basic summoning spell. Using a practice wand dulled the spell's power so that the target wouldn't be summoned against their will. They could choose to ignore the summons if it was inconvenient for them. The last thing Adam wanted was to summon his guest if he was getting ready for bed.

"Adam? So are you are alive! I was starting to have my doubts."

A glowing figure emerged from nothingness before the two boys' eyes. Adam beamed seeing his visitor, consciously trying not to look too excited.

"Josh! Remy mentioned that you were looking to talk with me," Adam said, brushing his hair slightly so less of his scar was visible. "Simon and I were just talking, and I may have a project for us. I need to talk to Theo and there's no traditional way of finding him. From what my dad says, he's in a place we can't even summon him. His dad already tried and it's like wherever he is has some kind of shielding. I can barely feel my connection to him, but with the right crystal, I might be able to enhance it. So I was thinking-"

"Slow down, Adam, I haven't seen you in months and you're talking a mile a minute about a crystal? How are you? What happened? Your dad gave me your new phone number and you've been ghosting me. I texted you. Are you doing any better?"

Adam froze, the weight of his memories steamrolling over the limited confidence he'd felt.

"I'm fine," he said shortly. "I can walk like normal now, and I've gone back to regular classes. I'm fine."

Josh nodded, realizing that he'd pushed too hard in his excitement to hear from his friend. If he wanted to help Adam, he would have to slow things down.

"I'm glad to hear that. You can catch me up to date while we're working on this project of yours."

Adam's face brightened once more. As long as he didn't have to think about what had happened, he could maybe start to see a path forward.

"I need a new wand," he explained. "I was hoping that you or Master Toyonaga could help me make that wand I was working on before. If I can get the right wand, I might be able to talk to Theo. All I need is some help."

"And I can help you," Josh replied. "I made my own wand last year. Just about everyone in the coven has at least one wand that they've made themselves. It's surprisingly easy with the right crystals."

"I knew I could count on you."

Adam beamed with a new excitement now that he had a tangible plan in front of him. Finally, something in his life that he could control. Josh was going to help him find Theo and then things would finally change. He'd know just how he felt about both his boyfriend and his future once he could make a stronger wand.

"Well, I think we could start with coffee first before we jump right into magic," Josh laughed. "I get that you don't want to talk about certain things, but it's been forever since we hung out. Crystals resonate stronger when you are honest about your feelings and intentions, so let me help focus your magic. Does the coffee machine in the kitchen still work or did Travis break it again?"

"Travis broke the coffee machine?" Adam repeated. "I don't think he did, but-"

"It was about a month ago," Simon said. "He was testing whether he could brew coffee with the attributes of a potion he was working on. The kitchen was a disaster and the new machine only came in last week. There were a lot of pissed off people in the mornings."

"Really? I don't remember that."

"Because you haven't been outside your bedroom in ages," Josh replied. "The world kept turning despite Theo being gone. This is what I'm saying, let's get you back into society and when you're back, your magic will take care of itself. You know crystals are stronger when they're surrounded by others in tune with you."

"Yeah, I know. That makes sense." Adam paused, trying to summon the courage to move forward when the past was still so overwhelming. Crystals did need clarity and focus and if he wanted to find Theo and find himself again, Josh's suggestion made sense.

"Okay, one cup of coffee. But that's it."

Quite a lot, but a lot of them never get any love from me so idk if I should count them.

3 - who are/is your main(s)?

I've currently got 6 mains again. Which are Nebulae/Devlin, Belphie, Ichi, Cove, Qiu and Kaoru. I used to have Shion as a main as well, but I demoted him since I don't think about him as much anymore.

I started this blog when I only had Kaoru as a main. And slowly as interests shifted and rekindled the others came to occupy a big part of my love too.

For the main amongst my mains, that would be Nebu, since he's an oc fo and I feel like nobody could ever replace him.

7 - how did you meet them?

Meta answer: sort of:

Kaoru was while I was in middle school somewhere, I think. I was generally into romcoms already and this one was just, amazing to watch. I soon read the manga for it too and just absolutely fell in love with Kaoru (I also really loved twin characters so that was a win too). Belphie was during the moment the game just released, I was getting so many ads for it and upon seeing Belphie I just knew I had to play it. Nebu came to me in a dream. Qiu is because I played Cove's game and they are in the new game fron the same series and I finally caved and downloaded the beta. Cove, I don't remember how I stumbled upon the game, probably in a moment I was really into visual novels and wanted to see if steam had any free ones. Ichi I started to only fall for recently as well in consideration to how long I've been in the fandom, my favs changed quite often for them.

In universe: some of these are just the game's introduction

Kaoru: in middle school, when we accidentally talked to each other, I've known them from preschool but never interacted before now

Cove: as a child, he was the new neighbour and escaped from parental supervision so we had to go find him too (in poly au, my uncle introduced me to the neighbourhood kids when I came to live with him)

Qiu: as a child, I was the new neighbour and was exploring the neighbourhood and stumbled into their garden (this is the same in the poly au, just different circumstances, here my aunt introduced me)

Ichi: I've seen him around but never talked to him before that one fatefull rainy day when I noticed he didn't have an umbrella with him and went to offer up mine

Nebu: Officially met him during my last year in high school, but he was already an observor to my life from elementary school

Belphie: Got summoned to the Devildom and snuck up the stairs to the attic after getting Luci distracted (this stays the same in the double mc au)

Grandrapits

Hello everyone,

This is the last of my build a hood master posts. The city that started it all: Grandrapits!

You’ve seen me share these lots one by one for the past 2 years and I finally decided on the district names so I can share the map with you! I built this neighbourhood to play with the sims I created. I guess it’s also called build a hood challenge, or something similar. I’m not up to the lingo but I wasn’t really building or playing it as a challenge. This all started when I found myself bored with the premade hoods and when I found the pooklet method of creating new sims.

Anyway, enough history lesson. I’m sharing this hood and the district names with where every lot is placed in case if you also want to create your own hoods but don’t want to create buildings for them. I used the similarly named, because I’m so creative with naming, Grandrapits map from Modthesims made by Suhina-Lempi.

Here are the names of the districts. Each district has a distinct architectural style. New Beginnings and Downtown uses the “industrial loft turned residential space”, Silverpine is “suburbia with somewhat modern houses” and New Haven is going to be ”tropical”.

I, of course, have plans for more lots. I’m only on second generation so there are no distinctly rich households yet. I’m planning on creating rich household district in Goldenhills, beach tropical ones in Butterfly Cove and small, cheap apartments in Downtown. (I’m also thinking of making a one big apartment lot with apartments for 3 people each -like starting the founders with roommates- and 4 or 5 apartments in total for a mega starter apartment on that empty square in New Beginnings but we’ll see.)

New Beginnings is where my sims have started their journey, all of the founders have now moved to Silverpine and the first kids are almost off to university. Which made me get side tracked and start building a university hood for them called Evergreen Institute of Technology. Some of you may have come across its master post. At the time I’m typing this post my game is giving me a lot of grief like missing nightlife clothes and random crashing which kind of made me lose my enthusiasm for building more. I had to completely reinstall the game and decided to rebuild my downloads folder which is taking a lot of time. But I digress, let’s take a closer look at the lots and districts:

The Ancestor (Darkest Dungeon): The relative of the player character who unearthed the portal and caused this whole mess to begin with. Having committed suicide some time before the game's events, he now serves as the game's narrator…although that might be the Heart using his voice. As a young man, he tried to murder The Countess at a party, then fed her blood to visiting nobles, causing an orgy of frenzied violence and turning them into Bloodsuckers. However, he accidentally ingested her blood too, granting him a vision of the Heart of Darkness beneath his manor and the horrifying true nature of the world. He began searching for forbidden knowledge, learning from the Necromancers and the Hag and hiring mariners to retrieve artifacts and relics for him. Using blood sacrifice and summoning rituals, he put dark spirits in the bodies of pigs, creating the Swinefolk that he left in the Warrens. He murdered the Necromancers and reanimated them to prove his prowess, but then the undead necromancers started raising the dead too. When the mariners demanded more pay, he hexed their anchor to drag them into the depths, then sold a village girl who had a crush on him to the Pelagics of the cove (who turned her into the Siren, their monstrous queen/breeding slave) because he wanted jewels and was bothered by her following him around. A homeless man started preaching that The Ancestor would bring doom upon the world and turned the people against him, so after multiple murder attempts failed, he lured the man to the dig site and drove him mad with the terrible truth. He also hired a band of brigands to reassert his rule through force by culling The Hamlet’s population to manageable numbers. At some point in all of this, a miller approached him for help after his crop failed, so The Ancestor lured an eldritch comet onto the miller’s land, turning everyone into crystalline abominations trapped in an endless time loop. The Ancestor finally unleashed The Heart, bringing cosmic horror to The Hamlet, and killed himself after sending a letter to The Heir asking them to come fix his mistakes. However, he may have been faking regret to string The Heir along, since he reappears in the Darkest Dungeon as the Heart’s herald (although that may have been The Heart impersonating him). Either way, his foolish quest to unearth The Heart and all of the immensely horrible things he did to everyone around him to make that happen left The Hamlet in shambles and the surrounding lands infested with all sorts of nightmarish monsters. TLDR; the living embodiment of "fuck around and find out."

Stanford Pines (Gravity Falls): A paranormal researcher who came to Gravity Falls to study the town’s anomalies, which he catalogued in three journals. He made a deal with Bill Cipher to gain the knowledge necessary to build an interdimensional portal, but realized that Bill was tricking him so he could invade Earth. Spiraling into paranoid madness, he hid two of his journals and tried to get his twin brother Stanley to hide the third, but they got into a fight that sent Stanford through the portal. He wandered the multiverse for decades searching for a way back home and the means to defeat Bill, and eventually was brought back by Stanley. He then mentored Dipper in the supernatural as he sought to stop Bill’s plans, eventually defeating the dream demon after reconciling with Stanley and headed off to go on more adventures with his brother. Understandable that he didn't make it, because Stanley was also in contention and Ford veers too much toward The Eye.

Fiddleford McGucket (Gravity Falls): A scientist who studied the paranormal activity in Gravity Falls with Stanford Pines. After being traumatized by a Gremoblin showing him his worst fear, he invented a memory eraser gun to get rid of bad memories. Fiddleford and Stanford built an interdimensional portal, but when Fiddleford was briefly dragged through it during a testing accident, he caught a glimpse of the Nightmare Realm and prophesied that armageddon would come if the portal reached its full potential. He quit the project, but was haunted by memories of his supernatural encounters and plagued by paranoia and insomnia. He continued to use the memory gun, which became an inspiration for Fiddleford to found an organization within Gravity Falls known as the Blind Eye Society, hoping to give others a similar chance at alleviating their deepest regrets and awful memories. Unfortunately, continuous encounters with paranormal entities within the town and a heavy over-reliance on his creation deteriorated Fiddleford's mind, draining him of his sanity and increasingly devolving him into a crazed and lunatic old man. By July of 1983, Fiddleford was a ghost of his former self, estranged from his wife and son and now known as the garbage-dwelling Old Man McGucket, Gravity Falls' local kook. He also started making killer robots to get revenge and attention.

The SCP Foundation (SCP): The SCP Foundation, more commonly called simply "the Foundation", is an international covert non-governmental organization responsible for the containment of anomalous objects that behave against natural scientific laws. Their operational ability is expansive, covering scientific and military fields. Their command hierarchy is headed by the Overseer Council, an enigmatic council consisting of 13 members with classified identities. The Foundation enforces The Masquerade as part of their mandate to protect the world from the abnormal using coverups and amnestics. On a good day, the SCP Foundation is a group of individuals willing to go to extreme lengths to protect the human race, and despite their coldness can show kindness to many of the sentient anomalous objects. On a bad day, the SCP Foundation is a horrendously corrupt and even inefficient organization who don't care for humanity in anything but the abstract and that can even escalate the threats they create, but still work to prevent humanity from being destroyed.

Roy (DHMIS): Yellow Guy’s father, who created the simulation that Yellow Guy, Red Guy, and Duck are trapped in. He sends Teachers to give them “lessons,” which inevitably go horribly and turn out to be thinly-veiled torture sessions, seemingly aimed at punishing Yellow Guy for the faults Roy finds in him.

Lesley (DHMIS): A live-action human, and the presumed controller of the entire TV series. She presumably lives in the attic of the house. While she does not do anything directly antagonistic, it is implied that she is the reason why the trio is seemingly trapped in the show and why random objects keep coming to life and “teaching” them about various topics--which in practice means tormenting them physically and psychologically. She also wants to keep the students from investigating the true nature of their world: she noticeably keeps Yellow Guy from investigating further into the house's reality, and if she knew in advance that returning to the first floor would risk Yellow Guy losing his batteries (and thus being unable to understand or explain what he saw), then she also deliberately played on his friendship with his roommates to trick him into heading back downstairs. She clearly does have considerable power over the world, but there are stairs leading higher than her and she seems amused/enraged at the idea that she created everything. She could almost pass for a normal kids' show host with her colorful clothes and sweet demeanor, but there's clearly something off about her. It is heavily implied that Yellow Guy is a copy of her son, who died in a car accident, which is why she’s trying to “teach” him.

The Doctor (Doctor Who): A Time Lord who, like all members of his kind, has a life span measured in centuries/millennia, some degree of psychic ability, and the ability to regenerate when near death. Unlike other Time Lords, they became bored and/or terrified by the Gallifreyan way of life when they were “young”, stole an antique TARDIS, skipped town and "never stopped running". As the series progressed, it has become the norm that any villain who recognizes who this strange individual calling themself "Doctor" is immediately browns their trousers. A number of times the Doctor themself calls attention to their identity for that effect. The Doctor remains the same person throughout their lives and maintains the same core mindset and (for the most part) memories, but different incarnations have different appearances and somewhat different personalities, being anything from an angry, grumpy, callous, arrogant, ruthless Jerk with a Heart of Gold Anti-Hero to a fun-loving, eccentric, clownish, childlike alien with an unscrupulous, manipulative streak to a dashing, charismatic, heroic Cultured Badass Ace with Insufferable Genius tendencies to a sensitive, vulnerable, fallible Gentleman and a Scholar. Consequently, different incarnations have been predisposed towards different Entities: for example, Seven seemed to be drawn to the Web, Eight was Stranger-aligned, Thirteen could be argued as aligned with The Lonely, and so on; this means that while The Doctor is adjacent to many Fears, they’ve never really been pinned down as an Avatar of any particular one. Presumably disqualified because several Doctors had been in previous brackets.

The Collector (MCU): The person with the largest collection of interstellar fauna, relics and species (including sapient ones) in the galaxy, who wants to collect all of the Infinity Stones. He has several “assistants” tending to his collection, who he tortures and imprisons as part of the collection if they don’t do their jobs well enough, to the point that one of them (who may be his daughter) disintegrates herself with the Power Stone because she’d rather die destroying his collection than live as his slave. He has immense greed for rare and precious objects and beings; for instance, he wants to collect the Infinity Stones seemingly just to own the complete set, and tells Groot “You must allow me to pay you now so that I may own your carcass. At the moment of your death, of course." While the Guardians look quite horrified when they see footage of the Power Stone being used to cause death and destruction, the Collector seems rather fascinated by its formidable power and is practically orgasmic when he sees the stone out of the Orb, even calling it "beautiful". He also has the Tivan Group conduct illegal and dangerous mining operations to collect organic materials from Knowhere.

The Masters (Fallen London): SPOILERS FOR FALLEN LONDON: A bunch of disastrous space bats who dropped London into a cave to try and get a sufficient love letter for the Bazaar to deliver to the Sun so it’ll be able to get over being rejected by its crush. They’re an eclectic bunch of horrors ranging from “capitalist asshole who tries to get you to steal someone’s baby for it and attempts strikebreaking,” “mostly nice but sells very questionable meat,” “impersonating another Master and serial killing to get vengeance stories in order to save the Bazaar,” “hunts people for sport--and not even in the proper ways,” and “runs a murder game but that’s not so bad in the Neath because death isn’t as permanent as it should be.”
