tell my we i just got a strangely pro-ai blog on my dash-
#the post itself wasn’t pro-ai but i checked their blog and jesus christ#im sorry but typing words into a prompt box does not make u a writer/artist#by that logic if i had actually written that zukka prompt my dear mutual gave me he would actually have been the writer not me#bcz he sent the idea in my dms#which uhhh no the pnly thing u get from writing a prompt for someone/something is being the idea maker#u might get credited in the notes of the fic as the inspiration or smthn but ur not the cowriter#and yes copywriter laws are flawed and hurt fic writers but the concept of them in general yk is kinda necessary#considering what used to happen before them (yk blatant content theft of wild precautions weren’t taken)#like i’m not an expert in copyright but having it absolutely makes sense#there’s a difference between someone seeing ur work and being inspired to write smthn abt it#and actually taking parts of it and claiming it as ur own#especially considering it takes NO WORK TO “MAKE” AI STUFF#like again i’m sorry but it rlly isn’t ur art if u just type into a prompt box for it#and sure ppl LOVE to bring up disabled ppl to claim that it’s “helping us” but stfu#as a disabled person who’s disabilities make it hard to draw/write sometimes shut up and stop using us as an excuse to steal content#i could open up chat gpt or whatever and type in prompts all day and put out a hundred fics every week if i wanted to#but they wouldn’t be mine#u can call urself a creative if u don’t actually do the creative process#like is it hard? yeah but that’s part of writing/art for everyone#it’s hard and practicing WILL make u better at it even if ur disabled#there are tools out there to help u make ur own art/stories that don’t require theft#and yeah it can be frustrating when u can’t write/draw bcz ur brain/body says lol no :) but the solution to that has never been “get#something else to write it for me and then claim it’s my own :)” or whatever#look if u wanna use ai to get a reference pose or smthn go for it#no stealing there and references can be hard to find#but if ur just typing a couple sentences into a prompt box ur not an artist and that isnt ur art#and if its a bot thats been fed nonconsenting artists’ work to spit out then yeahh its stealing i’m sorry#and stop using disabled ppl as an excuse for lazy content theft bcz i know 90% of u r abled or at best have a disability that doesn’t affec#ur ability to create art in the slightest#idk kinda went on a rant here lol

Hey!! I just stumbled across your blog and I’m in LOVE! I was wondering if I could request a lil smthn smthn? If you’ve got a lot backed up tho it’s totally fine. I’m a writer too and I know requests can get overwhelming. If you’re too busy, then just <3 ur doin amazing bestie! :]
if u do have time tho,, could u do Yelena x reader where reader is like. maybe reader has insomnia but mostly reader has nightmares, insomnia mostly being avoiding sleep because nightmares. But also like they do fall asleep and lena comforting them from a nightmare. Like. Ok. Let me be more clear.
Smthn where reader has nightmares and, two things: A—they avoid sleep bc of nightmares and not wanting them B—when they do eventually sleep and then have a nightmare, Yelena wakes them up and like, comforts them. Maybe it’s a recurring thing. Maybe not. Ur choice.
Honestly go wild with it there’s no thoughts in my head besides angst/comfort nightmares. Can u do gender-neutral reader pretty pls?
Ok bestie thx luv ur work bye

Y/N had only ever lived through one, singular war during their lifetime. A war that seemed never ending, like the wintertime in Narnia until the Pevensies’s showed up. Yet for Y/N, this war did not have a prophecy of hope that they could cling onto for hope. When they were younger, they army consisted of two soldiers — their mother and father, who fought bravely with their weapons — a storybook and a glass of milk. Yet the enemy, who prowled in the night sky and preyed behind the moon, was faster, stronger, and stealthier.
Throughout this war, Y/N remained the one constant fighter, for they were the one on the receiving ends of all the attacks. Every night a new battle raged, and every morning it would be a toss up on who was the victor. At least, that’s how it appeared. Secretly, Y/N was the one who always lost, for even when they’d beat the enemy and fall into a slumber, a haunting nightmare was there to wake them back up.
Despite this, Y/N never succumbed to the nighttime, but they also never told their long-time girlfriend of this battle. Yelena had enough on her mind, working through her own traumas and her own nightmares. The last thing she needed was to carry another war on her back, whereas Y/N was perfectly happy and content with taking care of the blonde. Not only did holding her during the night sooth themself, but it distracted them from their own war. It prolonged it.
Yet, even after years of being the lone fighter, the weight of the war would become too much, and Y/N would have to allow another fighter to enter, so she could turn the tables.
It started on a particular chilly night. Y/N was home alone for Yelena was on a mission with her sister for the first time in awhile. The mission required minimal contact, so Y/N was clueless as to when their best friend would return. However, they still did not get any sleep, no matter how much they tried.
Perhaps it was the snow thudding against the ground, their worry for Yelena’s safety, or their fear of whatever nightmare their brain wound conjure up — whatever it was (with Y/N’s luck, it might as well be all three) it had built itself a barrier that was keeping Y/N from sleep.
Little did they know, someone was coming to smash that barrier into tiny pieces.
Yelena couldn’t keep the smile off her face as she unlocked the apartment door, doing her best to do it as quietly as she could, sure that her friend was fast asleep. Once she got inside and locked the door, she took her pajamas that she packed and changed in the bathroom. Then, she went into their bedroom, preparing herself to curl up in the bed next her friend.
However, when she laid down. Y/N turned and rolled from their side onto their back. “Yelena?” They said, voice between a croak and a whisper. Yelena’s own eyes widened as she met Y/N’s tired ones.
“What are you still doing awake?” Yelena asked, surprised but still able to keep her voice low.
In her exhausted state, Y/N forgot to lie. “I have insomnia,” they muttered, the last part of their sentence muffled as they turned their head against the pillow.
Yelena’s eyebrows scrunched up in disbelief, never having heard of them say this before. “What?” She asked, a small chuckle accompanying her words.
Y/N let out a huff. “I barely sleep and whenever I do, I have nightmares,” they answered.
Yelena thought for a moment, connecting the dots. Every night, she found, she always managed to fall asleep before Y/N.
“Oh god, have you really not slept at all lately?” Yelena asked, sitting up.
A small nod from Y/N gave Yelena her answer.
“We’ll just have to change that,” Yelena murmured, scooting over to hug Y/N’s. Often it was Y/N holding Yelena, but the blonde hoped that if it was the other way around, her friend would get some sleep.
After a couple minutes of lying in silence, Yelena decided to soothe Y/N but running her hand through their hair. This seemed to work, because it wasn’t long until Yelena peeked over and again, couldn’t keep the smile off her face when she saw her friend’s eyes closed.

When the rays from the beaming sun hit Yelena, she opened her eyes to spot a very adorable sight. Y/N must’ve turned over in their sleep, because their arms and legs were wrapped around Yelena, almost clinging to her. Giggling, she gently removed Y/N’s limbs from around her body and sat up, checking the time.
9:03 AM. Y/N had gotten a good amount of sleep, but since they were deprived of it for a little while now, Yelena left them to sleep.
It was around 9:30 when Y/N’s nightmare started. Yelena had been sitting in the bed, her laptop on her lap as she typed away the start of the mission report. At first, Y/N murmured in coherently, and Yelena merely looked over at her with a smile and brushed some of her hair out of her face. However, it wasn’t long until the nightmare got worse. Y/N’s murmurs evolved into whimpers and what really got Yelena’s attention was when they started tossing and turning.
Yelena quickly put her laptop on her bedside table and reached over, shaking Y/N’s shoulder with one hand and using the other to cup Y/N’s face.
“Y/N, darling, wake up,” Yelena said, kindly but firmly when her gentle shakes did nothing.
Y/N let out a small groan as they were pulled from their sleep, face contorting into disgust until they laid eyes on their girlfriend. Y/N’s face went blank as the memory of the nightmare washed over them. It truly lived up to its name, since it was no ordinary nightmare. Y/N didn’t even know that they were crying until they felt Yelena wiping their tears away, and they sniffed and trembled from the horrors of it.
“Oh, Y/N,” Yelena murmured, saddened to see her partner distraught. When Y/N’s tears grew into light sobs, Yelena pulled them close, wrapping them in a hug. “Hey, hey, don’t cry. The nightmare wasn’t real. You’re safe.”
It took Y/N a moment, but they were able to get out a “They h-hurt you, Lena.”
Those words physically pained Yelena, and her grip around her partner got more secure. “It wasn’t real. I’m fine. I’m not hurt. I’m fine,” she continued saying, hoping that this was soothing Y/N.
It did. Within minutes, Y/N had stopped crying and calmed. Yelena went to lean back only to discover that her partner had already fallen back asleep. Chuckling, she laid Y/N down and patted their head, returning to her report but keeping an eye on Y/N in case of another nightmare.
