I received this conditioner as a complimentary gift from Influenster & Dove and I was immediately excited to try it (it arrived in the mail just after I got my hair cut and highlighted). Since I highlight my hair, I’ve always been conscious to use a color care shampoo and conditioner, but seeing as how my hair is normally fine and on the dryer side, this conditioner was perfectly suited to test it out. It has a great scent, and I love the foam consistency. I was a little disappointed because after using it for about two weeks, I didn’t notice that my hair seemed more moisturized or silky smooth. It is lightweight, which is definitely a desirable quality in a conditioner if you have hair like mine, but my color care conditioner seems to do a better job at keeping my hair healthy and moisturized.

Dove UltraCare Influenster Review

Guys, I was surprised with another great voxbox from influenster! This time I get to review a Dove product for you guys, keep reading to find out what I got and my thoughts on the product! 

I received product in exchange for my honest review and feedback, regardless of this all opinions are my own. 

Dove is a super well known brand in our household, Curtis uses their men’s products a lot. I personally have used Dove products in the past, but it’s never been a go-to really for me, so I was excited when I got the opportunity to try out one of their foam conditioners. 

So obviously the major difference between foam conditioner and regular conditioner is that it comes out kind of like a mousse or shaving cream foam, versus like a creamy lotion. 

I’ve used foam conditioners in the past and they’re super weird to me. Maybe that’s just because I’m used to regular conditioner, but I never feel like I’ve got enough foam to condition my hair with. 

I loved the smell of this Dove foam conditioner though, it was really just clean and fresh smelling. It also did a pretty good job with conditioning my hair. I definitely think the minute keeping it in my hair as the instructions inform helped tremendously, if I had washed it out prior to that I don’t think any of it would’ve really conditioned my hair. 

I didn’t grab enough the first time, my hair is getting pretty long and sometimes I underestimate how much shampoo or conditioner I need to wash my hair with. So I did have to get a little more foam into my hand, but after that it was perfectly conditioned. 

Overall, I did like the Dove foam conditioner. I don’t know that I would buy this all the time because I don’t feel like it gives me nearly as much conditioner as the normal conditioner does - but maybe that’s just me.

I was so excited to try this new formula, & Dove products continue to WOW me, the milk gel conditioner is specially formulated for "fine and damaged hair", which I need from over-processing and bleaching. What I liked about this conditioner is that it didn't leave my hair feeling heavy or greasy like some other products have. It gave me the moisture and nourishment that I wanted without weighing me down. I love the fresh, clean signature Dove scent. I used it per the directions as a deep conditioner in the shower, and also tried it overnight as a hair mask, both times I got amazing results. I am quite curious to try this foam conditioner. @dove has released a new line of UltraCare conditioners which is a series that comes in 3 different formulations (foam, creme, milk-gel) to give the right level of nourishment for your hair. Dove created this line to give a customized experience for your hair type because there's no such thing as a one size fits all approach. I received the weightless volume foam conditioner which is for fine, flat hair. My hair is fine but I have a ton of it and it can get weighed down easily if I use too much product. I also wanted volume in my hair as it does kind of lay flat on it's own unless I use a styling product and blow dry it. I'm interested to see if this conditioner does give me weightless volume while also giving my hair the necessary moisture and nourishment it needs. Most people probably don’t know this, but my hair is actually naturally wavy. I straighten it EVERY DAY. My poor, thin hair is totally damaged. When I leave it wavy, it’s frizzy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ .
