Greetings!

The adventurers have made a great journey across the underground depths. They’ve fought valiantly and well. And now they’ve found it. The fortress where the artifacts are held.

But getting in won’t be easy. Several patrols are on the lookout for anyone who seeks to steal the items of power. Not to mention the creatures from the depths that still lurk in the shadows.

Can the adventurers begin to infiltrate the fortress without being caught? Or will they leave a trail of blood and destruction in their wake?

At the top of this rocky hill is the mouth of a deep, deep shaft that descends into the bowels of the earth. The inhabitants of a nearby village have established cautious, tentative trade with those who live beneath - water, wood, and other surface commodities that are rarities underground in exchange for ores and gems. A crane has been constructed to transport freight, but the crew makes money on the side by providing adventurers a means to go below - safety not guaranteed. +++ This map is sized for a 30x30 grid. Hello, everyone!

There's a secret entrance in an old castle that leads to a magical cave full of weird glowing mushrooms and all kinds of magical critters. Your players begin exploring the beautiful caverns, at first glanced amazed by everything they see.

But soon enough some vines ensnare one of them, a giant beast comes out of the shadows to attack and an unseen force tries to bring them to their end.

As you can see, exploring is never easy and it's something the adventurers eventually have to learn.

The creature tokens for this map are a Brain Construct, a Tentacle Mass Abomination and a Vengeful Sorcerer Demon. Emerald tier gets the Brain Construct while Diamond tier gets all three. In addition, Sapphire tier gets extra creature token variants.

As of writing this, this map is one of the most liked and viewed on my website. I think people just love glowing mushrooms, or at least that's what I relate it to.

The adventurers have been traveling the caves for days now. They've braved many dangers and slain many dangerous monsters. And now their journey has brought them to an underground temple.

This place of worship has certainly seen better days, and its twisting halls tell the story of an old cult who worshiped a demon lord.

What sort of dangers (and treasures!) will the group of heroes find in this blasphemous place? And where will their adventure take them next?

These small caverns have been dug out by the confluence of two underground rivers, carving out the rock over a period of thousands of years as their waters swell and ebb. Nutrient-rich mud from the surface has been deposited across the cavern floors, and now hosts a thriving ecosystem of fungi and other exotic Underdark flora.

Such a source of water, food, and alchemical resources is of extraordinary value to any Underdark civilizations nearby, and will be jealously guarded from competitors and trespassing adventurers. +++

oh man i also played bg3 a little (only a few hours though) on my laptop before i got a pc. did you get that...... weird lag in the dialogue where after every line the models would go through like 3 or 4 facial expressions really slowly. it was driving me nuts. "blah blah blah mindflayer blah blah blah tadpole" and then as soon as they're done talking just an extended 😒😖🤨😔

(also. astonished at your ability to persevere. my new gaming pc crashed when i got to the underdark and i can't imagine how badly my laptop would've exploded if i was still playing there.)

LOL YES. I did click skipskipskip through dialogue to the next line tho so that made it less frustrating. But when I didn’t it cracked me up to see everyone’s little micro expressions
