The Glaze Team at University of Chicago is conducting a survey which evaluates the ability of artists and software to distinguish between AI generated images and human made artwork
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Survey link here!
spread the word!
EDIT: As some users have already pointed out in the tags, opening the images in new tabs to zoom in will reveal whether they're real or AI generated in the URL. Proceed with caution. If you accidentally spoiled yourself just say you've seen the image before and move on to a new one.
EDIT 2: Reblogs have been disabled as the survey has ended.

Researchers design flexible electronics for stretchable OLED display
Imagine a thin, digital display so flexible that you can wrap it around your wrist, fold it in any direction, or curve it over your car's steering wheel. Researchers at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) at the University of Chicago have designed just such a material, which can bend in half or stretch to more than twice its original length while still emitting a fluorescent pattern.
The material, described in Nature Materials, has a wide range of applications, from wearable electronics and health sensors to foldable computer screens.
"One of the most important components of nearly every consumer electronic we use today is a display, and we've combined knowledge from many different fields to create an entirely new display technology," said Sihong Wang, assistant professor of molecular engineering, who led the research with Juan de Pablo, Liew Family Professor of Molecular Engineering.
"This is the class of material you need to finally be able to develop truly flexible screens," added de Pablo. "This work is really foundational and I expect it to allow many technologies that we haven't even thought of yet."

Alright I will showcase Glaze by the University of Chicago,
Basically,
Tumblr media
This is the interface. It is not connected to the internet (as claimed), and works on your PC without any browser assistance.
-> Input image
-> Define Glaze settings
-> Output
Below I will show how my PFP looks on different levels of Intensity.
Tumblr media
All are equally spaced on the scale, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of intensity.
I think it does kinda make sense since it might mess up the algorithm used by the AI model.
You can see those "trippy" effects on the image, similar to those "acid" filters you might've found before on the internet.
Tumblr media
Thing is, it doesn't change the content itself much. The image is glazed, changed, but is still recognizable as a depiction of something.
The effect it has on the drawing is not pleasant to the eye much, so it's up to you if you want to use it on your art.

What's out of this world is just part of our world 🚀🪐🌈
Scav 2000, Item 53: "Rocket 00000. The rocket has to be convincing (read: huge (read: to spec, between 1:2 and 1:1 (look it up if you don't know the details)) and strong enough to house your own Gottfried, dressed, of course, in Imipolex-G. If you can't get a Gottfried, get a Katje or a Bianca. [389 points. 15 bonus points for a "facsimile" of a newspaper being read by your Blicero as he launches the rocket, detailing the date of launch. For 45 bonus points, get a Bianca in addition to a Gottfried. 20 more bonus points if both the rocket and she are "to spec," natürlich]"
