I will unfortunately never be normal about these two. The yearning in Ismark's eyes. The horrors in Doru's. I just want the best for this sweet golden retriever and his sad vampire boyfriend. 😭

Doru doesn’t want to admit that anything about his current predicament is something he should feel grateful for. But a fierce ache takes root inside him, and for the first time that he can remember, he’s at least somewhat glad he’s here, and that there are some idiots here with him who insist on loving him even when doing so has brought them nothing but trouble.

Speaking of things that I read as a child, I loved reading those "Years Best Fantasy & Science Fiction" anthologies. One of them happened to have a 1-2 punch of stories that irrevocably Did Something to my developing psyche. Plus another Arnason story that was in a different volume.

Seekers all have a full map of all recorded space in their heads. When in an unrecorded area, they tend to become anxious, with trines flying close together and attempting to map out the area. This pattern of behavoir makes it seem like theyre looking for something, hence the name seeker

Sometimes I forget how evident it is the types of characters I gravitate towards f/o wise like. Romantic, Platonic, Familial, no matter what their are certain characters I tend to feel that connection with that tend to have a visualization or connection to one of four things You've got The Sun/Day - Sun, Gojo, Jackie, Nemona, Astrid, Luffy, Shanks, Wukong, Mari The Moon/Night/Stars - Moondrop, Cassandra, Howl, Stardust Cookie, Moonlight Cookie, Stardust Cookie, Luna, Nebula, Carol, Jim, Arvin, Silver, Giovanni, Mihawk The Fire - Sanji, Red Son, Axel, Capsaicin Cookie, Ember, Mei, Ace, Toriel, Asgore The Neurodiverce - Axel, N, Metal Sonic, Thistle Whistle, Link, Robin, Hifumi, Penny, Tails, Sunny/Omori, Mihawk

Commissioned @niacart_ on Instagram to draw my sweet sad nightmare son Doru from Curse of Strahd (and the fanfic he bullied me into writing for him two years after my party left him stuck in the basement).

It’s almost impossible for Doru Lukavich to remember anything before the hunger set in. He knows there were days spent dreaming with Ismark, but he can’t recall those dreams anymore. Hunger is a millstone that’s ground him to nothing. It’s stolen any sense of past or future and trapped him within a dark present, where all that exists is a constant and unrelenting need for blood.
