hi you dont know me and i dont know you but i've just ended up on your mdl account in the process of trying to find new things to watch and i opened your //Worst krdamas// list and holy shit the vindication that shot through my body was indescribable. i feel like i am looking into a mirror and seeing myself for the first time after decades of being forced to stare at walls. all the gaslighting i've been subjected to on the internet evaporated in an instant the moment i saw these 3 entries. all of your opinions are so correct and right. alright sorry have a nice weekend
Hello! Congratulations on having good sense and taste 😊 .You should know that I totally owned myself my spending most of 2020 writing fix it/ spite fic for one of the dramas on my list 😂 but hey, I guess we can't be sensible all the time! Have a good weekend too!

I just finished Backstreet Rookie and I really liked it. I binged it in 2 days, I thought it was super cute.
Lately I’ve been having trouble getting passed episode 1 of dramas & somehow this silly show is just what I needed. I found myself smiling a lot of the time, and I also realized I can ignore side plots I don’t like pretty easily as long as I like the main couple lol.

Singles inferno season 3 was mediocre at best compared to the last seasons. It seemed more low budget and the whole 2 separate island thing seems unnecessary bc it only lasted for about 2 episodes.

Kdramas i've watched this year
Some of these are older dramas but i'm a procrastinator
Black Knight (2023): Loved this one! I have watched it probably 5 times now. Kim Woobin kicking ass is all i need!
Under the Queen's Umbrella (2022): I didn't watch this when it aired (no idea why). I was worried that the plot would be overrun by romance but thankfully i was wrong. Loved Kim Hye-Soo's performance (i cried a little).
Island seasons 1 & 2 (2022-2023): Honestly i only started this one for Kim Nam-Gil. I loved the cast, but the flow of the plot was a little off (don't know how, i can't put a finger on it). Was positively suprised by Cha Eun-Woo's acting, i think he needs more roles like this! Hot villain alert no.1! Sung Joon as a bad guy is either a blessing or a curse. Cgi could have been better.
Taxi Driver season 2 (2023): Loved the first season so of course i had to watch the second one. Love Lee Je-Hoon. Love the main characters. Love the plot and the message of this drama. A masterpiece. Waiting for season 3.
Weak Hero Class 1 (2022): Only heard of this drama wayyy after it aired (thanks tiktok) and god does it deserve every award there is! I was a bit hesitant because Park Ji-Hoon was the main lead, but boy was i wrong because his talent got me speechless (weren't we all). I cried, i cheered, i shadowboxed, i cried a little more and in the end i called my therapist. Thankfully season 2 is coming.
Bloodhounds (2023): Woo Do-whan and Lee Sang-Yi in the same drama beating people up? Yes please! The plot wasn't mindblowing, but sometimes just simple ass kicking is enough. Bromance was bromancing. Park Sung-Woong with another great villain character.
Revenant (2023): After dropping Mr.Sunshine i wanted to see Kim Tae-ri in other dramas, so when this aired i gave it a go. Her range is phenomenal! I have only seen couple spookier dramas, so i made a mistake and watched this at night (slept with the lights on). The eerie vibes and plot twists were well made. Hong Kyung had great chemistry with Kim Tae-ri and his cop role was refreshing to see after his performance in Weak Hero Class (if you know you know).
Flower of Evil (2020): Okay, this is one of the dramas i procrastinated hard on. It's been sitting on my "have to watch" list since it aired and i'm the only one to blame (i hype up a drama in my mind, then don't want to watch it because now i'm afraid it doesn't go the way i think it does and then i get disappointed blaablaablaa). This year i finally got over myself and why. didn't. i. watch. it. sooner!!!! It is all i ever wanted in a kdrama. 1. serial killers 2. a psychopath (but is he really?) w/ an effed up childhood 3. mindgames 4. marriage problems (but has a lot of soft & cute scenes) 5. Lee Joon-Gi. Also as a plus (hot villain alert no.2) the bad guy is kindaa (i'm sane i swear). I would be lying if i didn't say that i found the wife slightly annoying (might be me, but she went too much back & forth and sometimes i had to take a breather while watching), but all in all this drama will be hard to top and i fell in love with Lee Joon-Gi.
Moving (2023): Honestly one of the best dramas of the year. I don't usually really go for plots that have a lot of romance in them (if you haven't noticed), but i found this one to be really well balanced and the romance scenes weren't "cringy". Although Bong-Seok and Hui-Soo were great and had great chemistry, i looooved the background stories of the parents. Park Hee-Soon also pops up as kind of a non-villain villain. I hope there is a season 2.
Song of the Bandits (2023): Kim Nam-Gil again. 1920s Korea and gunslingers... what more could i need? After Mr. Sunshine left me with a disappointment (this might be an unpopular opinion) i craved for a drama set around the same time period, but with a little less romance (i know, i am defective). I think dramas should explore this time period more, but i understand it might still be a touchy subject. The skills of the cast were obviously great, Kim Nam-Gil killed his role like always, but Lee Ho-Jung as Eon-Nyeon shined with her performance (i am now a new fan). Hot villain alert no.3! I have seen Lee Hyun-Wook in Remarriage & Desires and seeing him as a villain made me feel things. If there isn't a second season i will cry.
The Killing Vote (2023): A "serial killer" in a dog mask making the public vote on punishing criminals and everyone suspects each other? Cyber crime? Chemistry between two cops? Major hot villain (no.4)? Sign me up. I love when crime dramas make you question your people reading skills (i have the tism so i really got none) and have all kinds of theories flying around. I liked that even Kim Mu-Chan and Joo Hyun had obvious chemistry between them it didn't overshadow the main point of the plot. I liked Seo Young-Joo's delivery and i hope he gets more bigger roles. Kim Kwon.... why does the psychopath have to be hot? He also needs more bigger roles. !spoiler! Also Park Sung-Woong killing (heh) yet another morally grey character.
The Worst of Evil (2023): Okay, first of all i have to say... the wife ruined everything (some agree and some don't). We get another bromance duo of the year with Wi Ha-Joon and Ji Chang-Wook. Loved the crime organization infiltration plot, heavily despised the romance plot (sorry Bibi baby). I was constantly on the edge of my seat and the characters started to get so morally grey that in the end everyone needs group therapy. Action scenes were chefs kiss. A honorable mention goes for Lee Shin-Ki as Seo Jong-Ryul (or Chief Seo, knife guy, the man has many names) and Bibi for her performance as Lee Hae-Ryeon.
Evilive (2023): Heavily underrated. Kim Young-Kwang doing what he does best, playing a psychopath. This combined with a bromance plot with the one and only bromance master Shin Ha-Kyun? I'm sold. The dramas literal title "villain story" really sums up the plot. Sometimes you are not sure who to cheer for. Sometimes you are not really sure about your own sanity. But to be fair, so aren't the main characters.
Vigilante (2023): Love it. Currently re-watching it. Needs more attention. Needs more episodes. I'm in love with Nam Joo-Hyuk. The best crime drama of the year, the title is all i needed to hear. Beating up criminals in well made action scenes is my favorite genre. No romance. One sided bromance? Morally grey characters (am i repeating myself now?). Yoon Ji-Tae as a beefy cop and Lee Joon-Hyuk as a slightly insane admirer? If we don't get a season 2 i will start a riot.

Love Next Door Rant
I was really defending this kdrama up till now but tbh Seung Hyo has managed to properly get on my nerves! With him being constantly rude and mean to her eventhough he has been the one at fault for so many fucking times !!! I think atp Moeum would have been a better love interest for Seok Ryu smh.
I like that this kdrama is realistic enough to not show Seok Ryu's mom change 180° magically after hearing about her cancer. Like she's still infuriating even after everything and as much as I hate her for it, it's really realistic for her personality to not change overnight.
The complicated relationship of Seung Hyu's parents has been dragged out for too long and for no good reason. Like I was invested and I AM invested in their story ngl but they should've wrapped it up by ep 4 or ep 8 or something but no instead our ml has to deal with the news of divorce (that's ofc not going to end up happening anyway) of his parents when we should finally be having the focus on the main couple's romance! Also unpopular opinion maybe—although I think a divorce of your parents at ANY age would wreck you, but come on Seung Hyo is like 34 & he has seen how awkward his parents have been around each other so to make him that shocked or upset over that news seems very silly!?!
The main couple started off with such great potential and I don't mind slow burns and I was quite enjoying this one until the writers decided to overdo the tsundere thing with Seung Hyo and make Seok Ryu be too freaking shy to even properly consider Seung Hyo. Like idk but it is just a major turn off in a ship when the female lead isn't shown to be head over heels or a complete goner in love for the male lead. Like the lack of romantic energy from Seok Ryu's side puts me off. And it was cute at first but they overdid it. Female characters being so reluctant and hesitant and just coming across as being not that into the guy just makes it hard for me to ship. I need my ships to be equally in love, like it's supposed to be 50/50. Like they overdid her shyness and running away thing and it just comes off as a she's not interested vibe (I mean I KNOW that's not true but they failed to portray it).
And all of this is very disappointing because Haein and Somin really are very talented actors so they deserved a better plot but they really did their best to make the best of what they were given to work with though. Wasted potential of such great actors, I feel.

jjkers posting tweets after tweets about Jk’s "chemistry" with the model in the SNTY MV is a bit hilarious. what chemistry? their scenes together are barely a few seconds, Jk looks stiff as usual, what am I not seeing? even with So Hee he had more chemistry, at least their interactions were cute. but ofc dare to talk about his insane chemistry with Jimin and you’ll get call all sorts of names lmao they just sound so desperate at this point it’s ridiculous they don’t even listen to him when they’re supposed to be his fans…
Lolllll. No but I completely agree anon. “What chemistry” indeed 🤣 I swear it even looks like he is staring at her forehead and not into her eyes. Tbh I’m still cackling at Jungkook’s “no thoughts” comment when asked about interacting with her in the music video. I’m sure you could ask any big named actor who is really trying to portray the role they are given and they would tell you that they have a lot of thoughts on how to act convincing. I love Jungkook to pieces but actor he is not. I don’t need to see him in a kdrama ever. 😆 And unpopular opinion, I don’t see or want that for Jimin either 🤐
You know what is chemistry though? Something that was natural and instinctive? Jungkook’s drop down gaze to jimins lips as Jimin gets closer. This is chemistry. Even in the non slowed down version of this, it’s extremely obvious.
Tumblr media
And if you just want just an eye contact gaze that oozes with chemistry, this is the one. Source on all this chemistry: a chemist 👩🏻‍🔬

What are your unpopular opinions abouts bls?
Few of Mine would be ...
I don't care if a dark bl has a sad ending like modc. Though they didn't specify it was going to turnout like that or it was a dark one
I hated Kiyoi for all cliché bully things he did but the one that tips me off is that graduation pull-kiss-shove I would still like to punch him for that.
I don't like cartoony edgy women like tiffy from lovely writer.
Tumblr media
Oh sure why not just get me into trouble, why don't you?
You all ready for this?
Here's the 10 I can come up with off the top of my head:
The Untamed is way overrated and so is KinnPorsche
Censored Chinese bromances should NOT count as BL and should always be watched illegally
Most Korean BL is absolutely fine at the shorter length
NO SECOND SEASONS
Make it Right is great
The stepbrother trope is super sexy and so is age gap
High school set BL is ALWAYS welcome and university set BL is fine too
Most Thai BL pulps have better chemistry in mere cheek kiss than all Korean BL Kdramas in general (and Cdramas for that matter)
IRL shipping is absolutely gross and extremely creepy
If the story doesn't need high heat, it shouldn't be in there (I know, I shocked you didn't I?)

Thank you so much for the recs, I've already seen he is psychometric and that revelation of who the killer actually is? It made perfect sense and they gave us so many clues but it was also a gut punch and I never thought they would actually go there. I'll check out the others, I was actually interested in watching wonderland of love but I think I saw someone say it has a power imbalance I think it was @dangermousie and that turned me off. I haven't watched many cdramas vs hundreds of kdramas. I think every good love story should be two people falling in love and taking the time and effort to support protect and care for each other and compromising and sacrificing for each other instead for just one person going to multiple extremes and it's not returned and I might be wrong but a lot of recent cdramas fall into the second category even modern ones. Maybe they're trying to compensate for the years of air head female leads and psycho male leads who treated women like sh*t lmfao ( not that kdramas didn't do this a lot too). Just something I've been thinking about because now that I'm watching a lot of cdramas I'm noticing a pattern. Also idk if you've seen them if you haven't you should, ming lan and yanxi palace are both amazing, they're 70 eps but so worth it, two of the smartest female leads I have ever seen and it's shown instead of just repeated to us by multiple characters like a lot of dramas do, the otps are great but they're both essentially character studies of the women of that era and what they had to go through as they showcase multiple female characters of ranging moral standings but all treated with sensitivity and understanding and the highlights are watching these women form beautiful bonds and use their genius brains to f*ck people up.
Omg yes @ the reveal for psychometric!! I was shook and had to bodily recover for a few days lol
Re: wonderland of love, there is an arc where things are definitely lopsided in the FL's favor (I call it the Grovel Arc), so I get why that could be a pass for you. I'm still gonna rec it though just because the dynamics are fun and the leads are both interesting together and apart which I don't usually find in dramas (plus their world views are so different, but in a way where imo neither is wrong it's just the innate opposition of idealism vs. pragmatism)
Oh I've seen minglan! I always forget about it when making rec lists for some reason but I do love it a lot. Yanxi has been on my to watch list FOREVER
And yeah, to your point, I do think a lot of it's course correcting re: power balance. That said, there's still a lot of Male Lead Is A Genius Who It's A Privilege To Chase present in newer dramas as well (unpopular opinion, but I couldn't STAND the ML in lighter and princess, for example).

ha rin & seo jun as well….
harin:
how i feel about this character
i love her. i honestly don’t have much more to say than that she’s just so likable and cool… ngl top 5 characters of all time for me she is so funny and real to be honest
all the people i ship romantically with this character
well seojun OBVIOUSLY LIKE who do u think i am. but she’s a little gay. the idea of sujin or hyemin is funny but not serious
my non-romantic otp for this character
WELL. SUJIN. OF COURSE when they briefly had a friend breakup lemme tell you i was about to jump over the edge. genuinely nothing more upsetting than that and seojun got murdered
my unpopular opinion about this character
i don’t even think people have opinions on blue birthday… but i do think she’s well written! i saw people saying in reviews they thought the writing was bad so. i disagree
one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i wanted her to mess w seojun more soooo bad before they found out ab hyemin killing him (before the sign fell on him yk) it would’ve been so funny cause he was so nervous about just holding hands. like harin should’ve kissed his cheek i think. he would’ve freaked out. seojun loserboy
seojun:
how i feel about this character
i love him… i admit i didn’t get it at first mostly because they portrayed him as such a jerk in the first episode for no reason 😭 but second ep won me over to be honest i Love him. he’s perfect
all the people i ship romantically with this character
harin. he would kill himself (Ha. Ha.) before he ever likes anyone that isn’t harin. i think
my non-romantic otp for this character
his friend group w harin, sujin, uiyeong, and eunsong they’re so funny i love the scenes where they all hangout cause it’s also a really believable friend group. i feel like it’s kinda hard to do that, like in a lot of shows the friend group (which is secondary to the romance a lot) seems a bit stilted like in a love so beautiful (ik that kdrama is shit and not a good example BUT LIKE.) i was like this shit isn’t reallll that’s not a real friend group. heon isn’t even a friend wtf… but no seojun fit in perfectly with the friend group, it didn’t feel as if he was just harin’s crush the same way it felt like heon was just sol-i’s crush 😭😭😭
my unpopular opinion about this character
well i’m not too sure if this is unpopular cause nobody really gaf about this show but he’s a good love interest and i think hongseok was good at acting his character too so 🥸 the show isn’t Just good because it has yeri in it. i love her but seojun is really cool and also adds to the show
one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
he comes out as a he/him butch lesbian

I binged watched part 2 of The Glory and I have THOUGHTS and OPINIONS but overall liked part 2 a ton, really need Song Hye-kyo and Jung Sung Il to be in another drama where they get to fuck nasty tho saw someone say a spy thing and now all I can think about is a Korean remake of Mr and Mrs Smith staring them
anyway thoughts and opinions, obviously spoilers and some unpopular opinions to boot:
so like, off the bat I am firmly neutral on the JYJ and MDE romance. Sorry y’all. I thought some of their romantic moments were just out of place tonally in the show - the fondue scene especially with the standard kdrama romance music playing, the running hug scene, both come to mind - I wished the show leaned into the dark romance aspects more. Like, my issue with JYJ is he’s way way way more interesting when he’s unhinged and covered in blood. But the show seemed determined to make him a “green flag” which is a term I’m growing increasingly eye-rolly with in fandom which made him way more boring and also inconsistent.
I was actually salty he didn’t get to stab anyone! Why tease me with a murder knife drawer and not do anything with it??? His best moment was when he put PYJ under and was so wonderfully creepy and intimidating. That was peak. That was his best moment for me in part 2 and the rest was kinda...meh? I didn’t want him to be cutely romantic I wanted him to be secretly unhinged!! Him being a ~green flag~ was meh his other best moment of the show was his monologue to his father’s murderer. Literally one of the best moments of the show and 100% his best moment as a character. I wanted more of THAT and less of him simping after MDE tbh.
That said, I’m not like against their romance or anything it’s just firmly - fine. It’s fine.
I’m also very meh/eye-rolling over the concept of a woman being a man’s savior and salvation. I find that trope really boring tbh
It was nice to see MDE have a partner in crime, and I did like the tent scene with them. I think if there’s fic written if it’s fluff squeecore fic I’ll pass but I’d love a take on them that embraced the darker aspects of YJY’s character. Like dude was an obsessed stalker - which is another reason this green flag thing is weird to me - after spending like what 3 months with MDE if she didn’t like him and also wasn’t a bit unhinged herself he’d be a horror movie char lol like he moved entire ass cities to be closer to her without telling her and lied to her about knowing So-Hee’s mom all in a longcon effort to get closer to her like embrace the unhinged!
Anyways
We didn’t get much of HDY and MDE this part but know what, I really liked how subtle their relationship was tbh like HDY taking off his shoes before entering her home was a peak moment for me. It’s subtle, but it was a bit of kindness that was so often and so thoroughly denied MDE repeatedly. And obviously that meant a lot to her b/c she was willing to drop her whole ass extended revenge plot and give PYJ a chance to turn herself in. I liked that he didn’t immediately divorce PYJ too b/c it gave him all the opportunity to slowly and symmetrically tear her apart emotionally.
Like, PYJ realized she actually loved this man, so knowing that MDE got into his head and heart - I loved that he basically admitted yeah he had an emotional affair with her - was clearly so damaging for her ego. And that’s what PYJ cares about most, her ego, her image, her self-preservation. And I loved how HDY tore that down every chance he got. He knows about her affair, he knows HYS true parentage, he knows all her little secrets and when she tries to defend herself he gives her rope to hang herself with it. And she does b/c of course she does!! Oh it was great.
It shows that PYJ’s idea of love is possession. She’s mad HDY cheated on her, without considering her years long affair with JJJ. She loves her daughter, but not enough to take TWO, TWO different chances to actually protect her daughter (sidenote loved that both MDE and HDY gave PYJ two different chances to take responsibility for her action and make amends and both times she spat in their faces) and she denied them.
Also what the heck is up with the fact that Mr “Who Should I Kill For You First” didn’t kill a single bitch but HDY killed one of the MAIN bitches??? Like, I loved it but what the heck??? That said would’ve really liked a follow up or sideways scene where MDE gave HDY the info on JJJ and that she knew~ he killed JJJ. I think they should’ve had a final scene together like that b/c it didn’t make much sense to me how JJJ got out of that car accident and ended up at that construction site where HDY followed and killed him after. Plus it didn’t make sense to me that MDE wouldn’t have kept tabs on JJJ and would have left his fate ambiguous like that. He was the one most loyal to PYJ and probably the only person who wouldn’t abandon her in the long run so like, that felt like a weird missing piece to the ending.
I’m glad PYJ didn’t die tho, I’m kinda meh on main villains always dying tbh sometimes it really works - like JJJ’s death - but other times it feels like an easy out for them. I’m glad she’s in prison suffering especially not knowing one of the people she killed she actually didn’t. Knowledge that MDE can hold over her forever. I loved that I loved that was PYJ’s endgame.
All that said, I wish the show incorporated more of the publics viewing of PYJ in her downfall. I think The Devil Judge and Hellbound did this way better with how social media and the news really influence the public perception. We got that one news conference and that was it but like I wanted more. I wanted to see more of the public takedown of the crew and have all the victims smiling as they listen to the gossip and chatter around them.
Everyone’s fates were pretty dope though. KHN was a highlight, so glad her husband is dead, she didn’t forgive his ass in the end, and she’s happier now. She’s one of the best characters of the show, the way she flourished and grew - that SLAP she gave PYJ like no one topped that - was just amazing to see. HDY and his adorable daughter going to UK was so earned (made no sense but earned), the crew’s different deaths like loved that for all of them hahahah suffer. Glad MDE found happiness and fulfilment at the end with YJY.
My last and only quibble with the finale was two things: 1) I wanted a follow up scene with Soo-Hee’s mom and MDE I think this was a hugely missed opportunity tbh like for MDE to tell SH’s mom we got them all not just PYJ but all of them went down you’re daughter can rest now. I was really disappointed we didn’t get this. 2) I really disliked how the last 20/30mins was dedicated to like a long set-up of a potential s2 about YJY’s revenge. Idk this was MDE’s story and it felt like the ending stopped being about her and became about an ad to watch a potential s2. It dragged on and on and I felt there were other things we could’ve explored instead to really wrap MDE’s story up completely.
Overall, hands down one of the best kdramas I’ve watched and a high fave.

I’ve recently started watching Wednesday club and faceless love. Plot wise both are pretty average. I might drop faceless love but I’m planning to watch Wednesday club till the end.
Acting wise, Nani and Dew are the weakest links in their respective series that it’s getting painful to watch their scenes 😅
I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I think they keep getting main roles only due to their popularity thanks to F4 series. No hate to them, they seem like nice guys in real life. But they really really need more acting workshops 😅
hi anon!
I agree for the most part but I'm actually enjoying Faceless Love a lot more than Wednesday Club as it's overall a much better production. I'm very fond of Kao's acting, she's definitely carrying the show. Dew's acting falls behind but it doesn't bother me so far and I wouldn't say it's painful lol. He's too young for the role but Vee's juvenile traits are intentional and entertaining at times lol. Plus he definitely fits into the kdrama/lakorn/remake genre. Speaking of weakest links, that one definitely goes to Luke lmao I'm sorry but he's abysmal. I have to skip his scenes which sucks because he's a main character lol. But oh well. I wish they hadn't replaced the original actor. Overall the show is still a good watch though imo.
Nani in wednesday club on the other hand jesus christ lmao. This is the first time I'm seeing him act and wow he's terrible lol. The show is overall too random for my taste, I get confused a lot, but I will stick around. When it comes to acting I'm clearly team Dew lol but also F4 is definitely their wild card, I don't even know why they got cast in that to begin with??? but oh well. Nani is giving me nothing so I won't be watching any of his upcoming shows but I like Dew so I hope he gets the chance to act in more suitable roles and improve his performance ✌🏻

💭🔮🌄⏳️🙄😡
oh hey anon! ooh okay some more. thank you for sending these!
from the bl ask meme.
💭 what I find annoying is that often the more sexually explicit bls have messed up power dynamics or dub/noncon or coercion played as romance. you can be sex positive and not portray those dynamics. It makes me prefer ones that depict sex less because it doesn't go over lines for me. But people who care about consent should get to enjoy those kinds of stories too. I am really paying attention to only friends because I think whatever messed up dynamics are involved, the sex is consensual and the manipulation is not seen as romantic. And I love to see it.
🔮no no never second seasons, nev-er. I have not watched a second season of a bl ever that I felt like was a solid continuation and didn't taint the first season. Movies or bonus episodes like our skyy have been good. they don't seem to feel the need to blow everything up for drama. I am good with fic to continue stories I love, thanks.
🌄this is such a hard one - I'm not sure I have one favorite scene, but the one that comes to mind is pat and pran standing in front of their houses ready to go back home at the end of episode 11 of bad buddy, our song playing over them as the first time showing that the theme song was pran's song he was writing for pat all along. there was something about how all those threads came together there. and yeah, it's a cheat because it's part of a whole sequence that brings together what they've experienced together. I will never forget it and even now knowing what comes next, I cry every time I watch it.
⏳️longish episodes. Not full kdrama length of over an hour, but I do think the thai BL length is the perfect length for me. many of the jdrama ones still feel too short even. kbl is waayyy too short.
🙄 oh boy, I have unpopular opinions here. I usually keep these to myself because I don't feel like I need to yuck anyone's yum, but I did not enjoy until we meet again at all. And ultimately, I am not a fan of kinnporsche in terms of the main pairing dynamic. I loved the bonkers mob stuff (the finale for perth's character is so the stuff I love) so it does have an artificially higher rating on my list than it probably should.
😡 fighter in why R U or kinn in kinnporsche. they both play out the tropes I mentioned hating in my other post. again, look, ykinmk. I'm not going into tags to piss in anyone's cheerios, but it does really bother me that they are so romanticized by such a large group of people. and for the record, I didn't have any problem with vegas or pete (as characters) because the story acknowledged their fucked up ness. It's when the story shows some really twisted power dynamics, does not acknowledge them and plays it as the most romantic situation in the world that makes me go blech.

This is just for fun probably not gonna do this again. I’ve been watching a lot of kdrama series lately so I thought I’d rate them.
note: My ratings are mostly based on my attention span. If it’s a good show with good characters, I usually look past acting and stick to it. Also, I always finish a series I started because I’m just built that way.
above 5 means it’s watchable, less than 5 means it’s trash and I’m dying.
Some are on going, some finished, some I’m still finishing
1. Destined With You 7/10 (Finished)
Rowoon’s acting man, he keeps it nice and fresh. His chemistry with Jo Boah…chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 So cute. The story isn’t interesting enough for me to pay attention to tho, in fact it makes things confusing. Like do they like each other because they like each other, or because of their past lives, or because of the love spell. Up until the end, the book of spells things had no relevance to the story whatsoever.
2. Strong Girl Nam Soon 7/10 (finishing)
It’s hard not to compare it to strong do bong soon, which is like one of the staples of kdrama. Started out way too fast paced, it was giving me a whiplash and then it dragged in the middle. Namsoon and ML has barely any chemistry. It was like they just like each other, like it was already decided they were going to be together from the start. RYU FUCKING SHIO. Carried the fucking show. His little interactions with Namsoon, his back story, him blushing at her. Everything. 2 points just for him. They did him dirty. Why do writers keep doing this? Make us think he has a chance and kill him off at the end? like wtf
3. A Good Day to be A Dog 8/10
Airing once a week makes it hard to remember the story and because of that the recaps takes time off the actual episode. I read parts of the webtoon. The show is very similar except for the part in the past life. Light and funny, but that’s it. Idk in my head i’m comparing it to business proposal (another feel good show) and it just falters in comparison. Also, idk if this is an unpopular opinion but CEW acting isn’t as good as it was in true beauty. I understand the characters are similar but him in true beauty was much better or am i biased? here he seems more stoic and he does this poses in some scenes that feels like he knows he’s good looking and it’s funny to watch 😂 like yes sir you are good looking we get it. Who is directing him to do this.
4. Moon in the Day 7/10
Good but exhausting. Every episode there’s a new plot, new plot twist. It’s trying to be so many things at once and forcing all the pieces to fit in that the main leads are neglected. Tho there are a couple of scenes where they were so cute and adorable but not enough. Before you know it they’re professing love to each other like when did that happen? Is FL the same person she was in her past life or not? Is ML in love with her or because she looks like his wife. The curse thing is also so confusing. Over-explains itself.
5. The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract 6/10
Not enough episodes to have an opinion but with the recent ones, i just think it’s cute. It’s cute and fun. Nothing that makes me excited to watch it again. It’s always the last I watch on fridays and saturdays. I like the actors. But the ML feels like a miscast. I know he’s a good actor but he just feels way too boy next door-y. Which is so confusing because I could’ve sworn I’ve watched him in another show where he was a chaebol and he was fine. Idk if it was the director’s fault but he just doesn’t feel like a rich chaebol ceo yet. Hopefully he falls into the character more in the next episodes. FL is so freaking beautiful tho and her acting 📈
6. My Demon 9/10
Visual Couple, Funny story, amazing scene. Also props to the writers and directors like how they thought of tango/fighting scene is beyond me. It’s currently the only one i’m excited to keep watching. And the story isn’t too complicated that it’s confusing to understand and still feels logical, even though it’s fantasy. 100% recommend you jump into the bandwagon. could be 10/10 if happy ending but we’ll have to wait for that.
7. My man is cupid 8/10
Feels like my demon. I like it. I kinda like my demon more not sure why. I think my demon keeps us in out toes while this show is more of a slowburn. It just feels like any other fantasy show rn obviously it’s only been two episode but still interesting. Attractive actors. Nana is so freaking pretty. ML and SL is also good looking.
8. The Matchmakers 7/10
trying to focus while watching it. It’s very slow paced and I have the attention span of a fish. That being said there some funny scenes that made me topple over laughing but I think I’m going to wait until all episodes are out and finish it.
9. Castaway Diva 8/10 (finishing)
Just started but already the scenes are so pretty. PEB can literally make me watch anything of hers she’s such a good actress. Story is very fresh and easy to watch. Don’t know who ML is yet but I have a feeling it’s not my pick. Woo Hak just goes above and beyond for her, if he’s not Ki Ho (?) I’m going to be so angry. Does FL have to always end up with the childhood love?? To hell with star-crossed lovers.
10. Perfect Marriage Revenge 6/10
It started out good and then it was just exhausting to watch. Every problems have easy solutions that the antagonists don’t really feel like villains. Very telenovela-y. I did read the webtoon so the story wasn’t that much of a surprise. I do however have a bone to pick. I am very confident in Sung Hoon’s acting skills. I’ve watched his other series previously. So why…Why is he making his voice lower than it is 😂 It’s so obvious it’s funny. I try to ignore but in some scenes where he’s supposed to be angry, it sounds more like he’s growling. I can’t take him seriously at all.
