I love learning that some of that wardroom scene with crozier and jfj was improvised now. I always thought the way jared said "I was, in fact, ordered" was very interesting and low-key a little broken from the scene and it's like yes queen your eyes did not fail you now as they have never failed you that shit was on the fly

anytime there's production trivia for something i've actually seen like "& the director didn't tell any of the actors this was going to happen so as to get Not Acted Surprise, from the Actors" it's like that's so funny the way i didn't ever see that part as like wow that seemed so particularly genuine to me compared to other parts of this work or other works in general. but on the other hand there'll be scenes in something where a surprising event occurs around multiple characters and there'll be trivia like "wow the way nobody (else) knew this was going to happen beforehand, in so impactful a scene, that makes sense" and then someone involved will be like that's not true
#different to Beforehand be like okay yeah so there will be an element of surprise within these parameters#like how it's different getting jumpscares in media you can at all expect them & indeed jumping; scared#vs in any format where it is a fully unexpected complete disruption of the Established Conventions / Expectations#like that one's just attacking someone but like it doesn't count anytime you do anything to people if there's no Physical Contact Violence#like spoilers it's just abt consent. even for whatever little things like well actors aren't ppl you try to prank ''real'' reactions out of#or yknow ask that to be Their strategy like well just make the feelings & behaviors Not Acting. in which case everyone will have a bad time#or even when stuff Is supposedly not entirely acting. like unscripted reality things where like behind the scenes is supposed to work#Against whomever is in front of them to like corral them into Situations that they react to as Real. ramp it up until They ramp up &c#watched a movie that was enjoyable enough the other day & good for what it was even supposed to be doing#(which other things deemed more ''objectively'' good do too but w/whatever other elements that make it Worthwhile Art by Contrast)#(stuff that's like so yeah this could be a soap opera / technique of shows/movies considered more ''fluff'' & ''unserious'' but b/c like#the subjects styles characters plotlines &c aren't associated w/things the Fluffy Feelgood Unserious Art is; this is great though#or At Least decided to be ''self aware'' with it & thus using it Savvily vs the Unaware works using it b/c they don't know any better)#anyway & i was like now some acting performances do not feel like ah so Raw Real Genuine lol but yknow. they didn't need to#sure might not be the case in a different work doing different things but in This case it was like i'm getting what i need to get from it#meanwhile even in Any works like on the one hand ethically shouldn't be trying to get ''real'' ''unacted'' shit from Actors / Performers#on the other; firmly secondary hand; that the indeed Pranked(tm) reactions vs acted ones are effectively indistinguishable anyway also#even like mild Good(tm) surprises like; yknow; context needed. does the person know they're getting one. do they like Any surprises#do they have the ability to really trust your intentions re: A Good Surprise as well as you understanding what you'd consider That. & so on

From Primetime to Paddle Time: My Journey from Reality TV to Electric Rides
🎬 From HGTV to iSUP. HBO to SHE-E.O. For 15+ years, I scripted cliffhangers and produced reality hits for networks like NBC, CBS, HGTV, TLC, and more. But somewhere between the control rooms and red carpets, I realized I didn’t just want to tell other people’s stories—I wanted to live one of my own.
Tumblr media
Here’s how I went from producing Rock the Block to riding electric surfboards in Montana—and why I think the best scenes are still ahead.
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Libby—and once upon a broadcast, I was producing hit shows for NBC, CBS, HGTV, and HBO. Today? I’m editing jetboard promos, living on the beach, and riding lake waves like it’s my second job (because, well, it is).
I wasn’t always in the business of selling adventure. Somewhere between chasing deadlines and chasing waves, I realized I wanted more from my work than just producing other people’s stories — I wanted to live my own.
“I spent years scripting other people’s stories — now I’m living my own.”
Before E-BOARDERS was even a twinkle in my entrepreneurial eye, I was elbow-deep in edit bays, control rooms, and cross-country shoot schedules. I spent over 15 years producing and writing for nearly every major network in the industry — NBC, CBS, FOX, HGTV, TLC, HBO, MTV, Food Network, and Discovery to name a few — developing reality formats, managing story arcs, directing crews, and crafting emotionally compelling moments from raw footage.
“Behind the scenes used to mean sound checks and cue cards. Now? Board checks and battery packs.”
Tumblr media
But adventure?  That’s been woven into my life for as long as I can remember.
I was raised on the shores of Flathead Lake, Montana, with snow-covered winters on Big Mountain in Whitefish and sun-soaked summers paddleboarding, kayaking, waterskiing, and exploring every inch of the valley I could reach. My love for outdoor sports was always part of me — but I never imagined it would be my career.
“Riddle me this: How does a Montana girl turned TV producer then pivot to the adventure market? I got a story for you!”
Tumblr media
“Not a set. Not a scene. Just Tuesday from the Flathead dock.”
So how did I go from TLC to Electric Jetskis?
After attending the University of Hawaii briefly, then graduating with honors (and a letterman’s jacket as a UM cheerleader) from the University of Montana’s prestigious Journalism School in Radio/Television Production and Media Arts, I used my savings — earned working as a beer cart girl at the Missoula and Polson Country Clubs — to forge my way into the entertainment capital of the world and make my mark in Los Angeles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got my feet wet instantly on big hits like ‘Friends’, ‘Two and a Half Men’, ‘The Drew Carey Show,’ ‘What I Like About You,’ ‘The Jerry Lewis Telethon,’ ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ ‘America’s Got Talent,’ ‘The Biggest Loser,’ ‘The Bachelor,’ ‘American Idol,’ ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ and just about every Awards show and Celebrity Reality show that came out in those early days of my career.
Tumblr media
And yes, living the dream on the beach in Los Angeles, right next to the boardwalk where electric bikes, beach cruisers, and friendly neighbors zip by all day long — total score. And maybe even a little foreshadowing.
But for the sake of story, let’s fast-forward through 15 years of cross-country shoots, network deals, union strikes, L.A. fires, and the slow erosion of domestic production as projects shipped overseas. Somewhere in the chaos, I realized I was craving something more grounded. More local. More to my roots. More…me.
“Producing hit shows taught me to spot a great story. This time, I wrote one of my own.”
Tumblr media
It’s not that I don’t want to keep feeding people primetime entertainment — I absolutely do, and I still am. But I also wanted to offer something more hands-on. I wanted to bring the kind of adventure families were watching on TV and thinking, “I wish we could do that” into real life. I wanted to make that possible — not just aspirational.
That’s when E-BOARDERS was born.
What started as a simple idea to sell a few electric boards quickly became a full-blown mission to curate the most exciting, high-performance, and family-friendly outdoor gear on the market — products that didn’t just look cool online, but actually performed in real-world conditions. Whether it’s a golf scooter, a jetboard, an e-foil, a family-sized iSUP, or a surf-style paddle bike, I test every product myself and make sure it’s worth your time and your wallet.
“My beach cruiser has a better office view than any sound stage I’ve been on.”
Tumblr media
“Otis & B-Roll, our unofficial product testers (and DOG-E-O of snacks).”
Today, I look out from my beachfront patio in LA onto that same boardwalk or across the water from my dock on Flathead Lake, where an electric surfcycle or electric wakeboard might be gliding by. The whole thing feels like one big daily demo reel — and honestly, it all feels serendipitous. Like this path — however unconventional — was always meant to be mine.
“I didn’t leave TV — I just gave it a new set of wheels.”
And honestly, it’s wild how full-circle it all feels. With my degrees in Journalism and Media Arts from UM, storytelling has always been the throughline, the common thread of everything I do. From scripting cliffhanger finales to crafting viral product promos, I learned how to hook people emotionally — and now I get to apply that same creative energy to connect people to experiences they didn’t know they needed.
“And yes, I still edit my own promos. From primetime to paddle time.”
E-BOARDERS became the intersection of my production chops, my lifelong love of outdoor sports, and my obsession with adventure gear that performs. Somehow, every piece of my past came together perfectly — like storyboarding a scene that just clicks. The storytelling instincts I honed in television, my obsession with gear that actually works, the joy of outdoor adventure I grew up with, and my ability to apply production hours and personal deadlines to make it all happen. And I still get to produce content that’s just as entertaining and energizing. BOARDERS became the sum of it all.
“Producing hit shows taught me to spot a great story. This time, I wrote one of my own.”
E-BOARDERS; It’s not just a brand; it’s the convergence of everything I love, everything I’ve learned, and everything I want to share. It’s my greatest story yet — one that’s still being written with every wave we ride and every rider we welcome.
It’s not just a community hub for water lovers, outdoor pros, and families who want more from their weekends, it’s a lifestyle. We partner with resorts, summer camps, RV parks, country clubs, universities, sporting goods stores, outfitters, and property management companies to help them level up their offerings and give their guests something unforgettable.
“I built E-BOARDERS for the families watching those adventure shows thinking, ‘I wish we could do that.”
From journalism to jetboards. From scripting shows to scripting my own story. I’m Libby Riddle, and I built E-BOARDERS to help you ride, paddle, surf, and glide your way into the best memories of your life.
