Jayvik modern AU
Viktor frequents his local pool. Heâs always liked swimming, it takes the pressure off his leg and it helps his pain. Plus he likes going to the bottom of the pool and feeling like heâs alone in space. He refuses to swim in just trunks so heâs got a long sleeve swim top.
Sometimes he goes classes with the elderly group, just for fun. Sometimes he just shows up at the same time because they play music.
Jayce gets a job working as a life guard. He likes it. He mostly just cleans and reads his books when no oneâs there. Itâs an easy job, keeping the pool nice and making sure people follow the rules. Plus he gets to sit shirtless in a tiny pair of red shorts and get oogle at which strokes his ego like nothing else.
The first time he watched Viktor come in he was confused as he watched him lean his crutch against the wall, having changed and left his braces in the lockers in the changing room. Viktor was wobbly as he made his way to the shallow end, easing himself into the water, obviously favoring his leg that was scattered with scarring.
But once the guy got into the water, butt scooting down the edge of the pool till he got to the deepest end, he was a really well swimmer. His ankles crossed, his upper body and core must be strong⌠Jayce was amazed as the guy did laps, easy, not for speed but he was quick. It was impressive, having his legs crossed, and staying so horizontal.
When he was getting out Jayce hopped down, one eye on the older ladies who were chatting and doing their own exercises, as he went to offer the guy a hand. With his shirt sucked down Jayce could see how thin he was, but he was toned. And gorgeous up close. With his wet hair and dark eye bags he was stunning.
âIâm Viktor, by the way. Did you replace the old guard?â He asked as they made their way back to his crutch. They ended up chatting for a bit, how Viktor comes every few days, Jayce works Tuesday through Friday, Viktor is actually an assistant at the academy Jayce attends in the mechanics program.
They chat every time theyâre both around, sometimes itâs just them and Jayce sits at the side of the pool with his legs in the water so Viktor can enjoy it a little longer.
They grow close and eventually Jayce shows up at Viktorâs office asking if he wants to grab lunch.
It just grows from there.

VeronaHills, Round Two: Shikibu
Patricia's got her game face on and an axe to grind.
There's no gym in Riverblossom Hills. How can a town have no gym? What do people here do for exercise?
Patricia gets her answers when she asks Cleo, and she's not fond of them. Walking (boring), gardening, (dirty), iceskating (too much potential for embarrassment).
Cleo shrugs. "I dunno. Axe-throwing?" She chuckles. "Imagine you, with an axe! Run for the hills!"
It turns out Cleo didn't have to hold onto that vision for much longer, because it soon became reality. Patricia went online and researched home setups for axe throwing, ordered the equipment, and entered several competitions being held at Mission University. Hiffing axes is great for upper body strength! She also invests in a barre to work on her core. She's going to be fit, snoozy village town be damned.
Cleo benefits from the entertainment factor of watching her glossy, cerebral friend transform into a hulking, roaring beast when she wraps her hands around an axe. She shares this with aunt Catherine's good friend Betty over a cup of coffee at the market.
"There really must be something in the air," Betty remarks. She pauses. "Whatever it is, I hope it's good. For all of us."
Before Cleo can ask what Betty means, the elderly woman spins off into a tangent about the suspect of her yacht robbery a few years ago being in town. Cleo sips her coffee and nods along with the tale. The red-haired, rough and tumble pseudo-pirate sounds just like the woman she just had her first kiss with...

Bringing Comfort Home: Why a Patient Bed for Home Can Make All the Difference!Â
When it comes to recovery, healing, or long-term care, the setting matters just as much as the treatment. For many, the comfort of home offers emotional stabilityâbut replicating hospital-grade support in a home environment can be challenging without the right equipment. Thatâs where a patient bed for home becomes essential.Â
A standard bed, no matter how high-end, isnât designed to support medical needs, caregiver access, or therapeutic positioning. If youâre caring for an elderly family member, someone with mobility issues, or a loved one recovering post-surgery, upgrading to a specialized patient bed can make a life-changing difference.Â
What Makes a Patient Bed Different?Â
At first glance, a patient bed for home may look like a standard bed with a few added features. But under the surface, it's an engineered tool for recovery and care. Hereâs how it differs from regular beds:Â
Adjustable Positions: Both the upper and lower body can be elevated to support spinal alignment, breathing, and circulation.Â
Safety Features: Guardrails, adjustable height, and lockable wheels provide stability and prevent falls.Â
Ease of Transfer: Lowering the bed for entry/exit helps patients maintain independence or eases the load for caregivers.Â
Pressure Relief: Specialized surfaces reduce the risk of bedsores and pressure ulcersâcommon issues in long-term care.Â
These beds are designed not just for sleep but to support everyday tasks like feeding, reading, therapy, and even gentle exercise.Â
Who Needs a Patient Bed at Home?Â
There are many scenarios where a patient bed for home is more of a necessity than a luxury:Â
Post-surgical recovery (orthopedic, abdominal, spinal surgeries)Â
Chronic illness management (arthritis, respiratory conditions, heart disease)Â
Mobility impairments from injury, stroke, or degenerative conditionsÂ
Elderly care, especially when dealing with frailty or balance issuesÂ
Palliative or hospice care, where comfort and dignity are keyÂ
Choosing the right bed isnât just about medical supportâitâs about enabling a better quality of life.Â
Benefits of a Patient Bed at HomeÂ
Letâs break down the tangible benefits of having a patient bed for home use:Â
Improved Sleep Quality: Proper elevation can reduce pain, improve circulation, and reduce conditions like acid reflux or snoring.Â
Greater Independence: Many patients regain a sense of control by adjusting their own bed to eat, read, or change positions.Â
Reduced Caregiver Strain: Adjustable height and positioning make caregiving easier and safer.Â
Faster Recovery: A well-supported body heals faster. The right angles help reduce inflammation, stiffness, and soreness.Â
Safer Mobility: Bed rails and accessible heights reduce fall risk during transfers.Â
These features donât just improve physical well-beingâthey also support emotional and mental comfort during recovery.Â
Key Features to Look ForÂ
If you're planning to invest in a patient bed for home, make sure it includes:Â
Customizable Elevation Options for both head and legsÂ
Remote or App Control for easy, user-friendly adjustmentsÂ
Sturdy Guardrails that are removable or collapsibleÂ
Silent Operation to avoid disturbing sleepÂ
Height Adjustment for comfortable transfer and caregiver convenienceÂ
Mattress Compatibility with memory foam or pressure relief optionsÂ
Look for beds that blend medical-grade functionality with home-friendly aesthetics, so the space doesnât feel clinical or cold.Â
Patient Dignity Starts with ComfortÂ
When patients are confined to bed for extended periods, itâs easy to feel a loss of autonomy and confidence. A thoughtfully chosen patient bed for home can restore a sense of dignity by empowering users to move freely, sleep better, and manage discomfort without assistance.Â
And from a caregiverâs perspective, a supportive bed reduces the emotional and physical toll of daily routines. It transforms stressful tasks into manageable actions, allowing care to be delivered more efficientlyâand more compassionately.Â
A supportive bed can do more than cradle the bodyâit can lift spirits, speed up healing, and offer freedom at a time when it feels most limited. Choosing a purpose-built patient bed for a home is one of the most impactful investments you can make for recovery and comfort.Â
If youâre looking to create a healing space that doesnât compromise on care or comfort, explore the advanced at-home care solutions from Zero-G Beds.Â

Anorexia nervosa, which mainly affects young women, is characterized by refusal to maintain body weight, intense fear of gaining weight, and feelings of being fat even when the individual is emaciated (Gold). One feature of this disorder is 'paradoxical satiety,' which means that individuals feel full when they fast, but become intensely hungry when they begin to eat (Gold). Secondary effects include cessation of menstruation, hair loss, and upper respiratory infections. Complications of anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders include "cardiovascular disturbances, electrolyte imbalances, endocrine abnormalities, gastrointestinal problems, and iatrogenic problems" (Gold). Furthermore, laboratory evaluation often reveals decreased serum levels of albumin, globulin, calcium, potassium and sodium, and typically, the white and red blood cell counts are also decreased (Gold). Although denial by the patient can make treatment difficult, focus should be on weight gain and reduction of depression (Gold). Throughout history, there are accounts of women who refused to eat. For example in 1689, a British physician reported on two patients, one male and one female, suffered from 'nervous consumption' (Gold). In 1874, two physicians, Laseque and Gull, named the disorder 'anorexia nervosa, and described it as extreme emaciation associated with increased activity, episodes of binge eating, amenorrhea and low body temperature (Gold). Anorexia nervosa primarily affects young women, with onset typically between the ages of 12 and 25 years, however numerous cases of new onset anorexia in elderly men and women have been reported (Gold). The prevalence of this disorder varies between 2 and 5% among adolescent and young adult women, and carries a mortality rate of 5% in the first two years, yet among untreated patients, mortality can approach 20% (Gold). A perfectionist lifestyle, punctuated by one or more performance-related stresses, predisposes an individual to anorexia nervosa, as does a family history of the disorder in female relatives (Gold). Moreover, individuals of upper-middle socioeconomic status are most often affected (Gold). The typical anorectic individual has a distorted body image and has an obsessive need to maintain an ultra-thin silhouette. Regardless of the degree of emaciation, she sees herself as obese, yet, her perception of the physical appearance of others remains accurate (Gold). For example, a patient's drawings of family members are generally undistorted, while those of herself show an exaggeratedly obese figure (Gold). Although anorexia nervosa typically affects females, according to the National Association of Anorexia and Associated Disorders, this disorder also affects over 1 million males per year (Hayes). Despite this statistic, anorexia nervosa is usually misdiagnosed or overlooked by both mental health and medical practitioners because of the misperception that it is a female disorder (Hayes). In fact, males account for 5-10% of reported cases of anorexia nervosa (Hayes). Research suggest that males who develop anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders differ from females in three major areas of dieting behaviors: 1) while females diet because they feel fat, males diet because they have been overweight at some point in their lives; 2) males more often than females diet to attain certain goals in sports or to avoid some type of sports-related injury that would be related to a weight gain; 3) there is a greater preponderance of men who diet to avoid potential medical problems (Hayes). Generally, males believe that dieting and exercise will allow them to fell more masculine and more in control, which will lead to greater respect from others (Hayes). Anorexia nervosa can cause serious damage to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. Patients may experience a severe drop in pulse rate and blood pressure, and may experience irregular heart rhythms or heart failure (Anorexia). Other effects include calcium loss from bones due to nutritional deprivation, causing the bones to become brittle and easily broken (Anorexia). However, if the disorder is diagnosed and treated early, many of the complication are reversible when body weight is restored (Anorexia). While some individuals can be treated as outpatients, others with dangerously low weight must be hospitalized (Anorexia). Ideally, patients in treatment will gain one to three pounds per week. Treatment strategies that are most effective involve a weight restoration within 10% of normal, along with individual, family and group therapies (Anorexia). According to recent research, there are traits in individuals who develop this disorder that are considered risk factors that may be treated early, such as low self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, and dieting (Anorexia). If these risk factors are identified early and intervention is implemented, it may prevent a serious eating disorder from developing (Anorexia). Moreover, advocacy groups have been effective in reducing the number of media stories that glamorize being thin (Anorexia). Works Cited Anorexia Nervosa." National Alliance on Mental Illness. Advantages of Installing Stairlifts in Indianapolis and Columbus, OH
With age, the body tends to weaken and lose some of its function. Bone strength is often compromised, and the joints become weaker, too. Unfortunately, an older person with severe mobility issues can no longer climb the stairs or access the upper floors or the attic. Moving out into a smaller home or considering assisted living facilities is not an ideal solution, either. Installing one of the best stairlifts in Indianapolis and Columbus, OH, can be effective and the best way to overcome mobility problems.
Contacting the best dealer/manufacturer in the city can be the right way to proceed. Fortunately, stairlifts are designed for mobility-restrained individuals who find the device easy to use and perfectly suited to the purpose. Ordering the device is the only responsibility of the user, and experienced technicians are sent to install it properly and assist the consumer by revealing the right way to utilize it as needed.
Sure, not all homes are constructed in the same pattern. Well, the stairlifts differ, too, and each home is sure to find one that matches the architecture of their home. A simple straight stairway requires the installation of a straight stairlift, whereas a curved stairway or one that includes a landing in between can have a customized curved stairlift fitted to match the curvature of the stairway. Additionally, the homeowner may want to go out for some exercise each morning and may favor the outdoor stairlift built to endure the natural elements.
It is indeed pleasing to find the users happy to use the stairlift, which will eventually become an integral part of their home. The diverse advantages of using a quality stairlift include the following:
IndependenceâThe user becomes self-sufficient despite being plagued by mobility issues. The ability to access the entire home without the fear of experiencing the pain of climbing the stairs works wonders for the user's morale. Taking care of the daily chores is easier, and even carrying a heavy bag up or down from the attic can be manageable. This newfound independence keeps the elderly or disabled person happy and content to continue residing in their home for many more years.
SafetyâAdult children and other family members living far away are happy to know that their parents are safe and that there will be no mishaps, such as slips and falls. Sitting in a comfortable seat as the stairlift goes up can be pleasant for the user, who does not have to cope with a lack of balance anymore. Moreover, the stairlift is fitted with a sturdy belt to keep the user secure and safe. The lift will not move until all safety controls are in place.
The homeowner may choose to install one of the beautiful home lifts in Lafayette,IN, and Columbus, OH, as an alternative to stairlifts. This will not only solve the mobility issues but also add store space by eliminating the traditional staircase.

Low-impact exercises are great for elderly people, as they don't put pressure on the joints. So, try the hula hoop exercise for seniors to have fun while maintaining good health.Circling a hula hoop around the hips is something that will probably take you back to your childhood days. As you go down memory lane, you will see your happy face while swinging your hips with a colourful hoop. It might have been a long time but you can still use the equipment to maintain good health. Yes, it is not just for fun and laughter, but certainly not just for children. It can be part of your fitness routine too. There are hula hoop exercises for seniors too. From improving balance to coordination, this exercise helps the elderly people in more ways than one. What is the hula hoop exercise?Hula hoop exercise involves spinning a colourful hoop around your waist, hips, or other parts of your body using controlled movements. âIt is a fun, low-impact exercise that improves coordination, strengthens core muscles, and promotes cardiovascular health,â says fitness expert Abhi Singh Thakur. It can be done by beginners, fitness enthusiasts, and also elderly people. It is a low-impact exercise. Image courtesy: Adobe StockLow-impact exercise, which reduces the stress or pressure on the joints, has positive effects on physical health of elderly people, as per research published in the Jurnal Keolahragaan in 2022.What are the benefits of hula hoop exercise for seniors?Elderly people should do the hula hoop exercise for the following reasons:1. Improves balanceHula hooping involves constant weight shifts and controlled movements of the core, hips, and legs. âThis challenges the proprioceptors (nerve endings in joints and muscles that send signals to the brain about body position), improving balance and reducing the risk of falls,â explains the expert. During a 2001 study, published in Rehabilitation Practice and Science, researchers found that hula hoop exercise helped to improve balance function in the elderly.2. Strengthens stabilising musclesThe repetitive circular motion targets stabilising muscles in the core (abs, obliques, and lower back), hips, and legs (quads, hamstrings, calves). âBy strengthening these muscles, the hula hoop exercise helps to maintain posture and spinal alignment, and stabilises the pelvis during movement,â says Thakur.3. Enhances cardiovascular healthHula hooping is a moderate-intensity cardio workout. âEven a 10 to 15-minute session of hula hooping can increase your heart rate, promote blood circulation, and burn calories, which all contribute to your overall cardiovascular fitness,â says the expert.4. Improves coordinationThe rhythmic movement during the hula hoop exercise can enhance your motor coordination, as it requires synchronisation between the upper and lower body. âThis can help people, particularly seniors to stay agile and mobile in daily activities,â says the expert.5. Supports joint healthJoint health is usually a concern for many elderly people. âLow-impact rotational movements can gently mobilise the hips and spine,â says the expert. This can promote flexibility and reduce stiffness in the joints without adding extra stress or pressure on them.6. Promotes mental healthDoing the hula hoop exercise can release endorphins, which can help to improve mood, reduce stress, and combat anxiety. âIt also engages the brain, enhancing focus and cognitive function,â which gets affected as people grow older,â says Thakur.7. May reduce risk of osteoporosisThe rhythmic movement while hula hooping applies slight pressure to the hips and spine, strengthening bones and reducing the risk of osteoporosis. About 35.3 percent of older men and women in the world have osteoporosis, as per a study published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research in 2021. It is one of the most common bone diseases associated with a high risk of bone fractures. You may also likePeople with joint pain should not do the hula hoop exercise. Image courtesy:
Adobe Stock8 exercises with hula hoops for seniorsHere are simple yet effective exercises with hula hoops that seniors can do:1. Waist hooping To do this hula hoop exercise, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Place the hoop around your waist. Use small circular movements of your hips to keep the equipment spinning.2. Side-to-side hooping Hold the hoop at your waist. Move your hips side-to-side instead of circular motions. Focus on engaging your oblique muscles.3. Hula hoop walking Start waist hooping. Slowly start walking by taking small steps forward, maintaining the rhythm of the hoop.4. Arm twirls Hold the hoop in one hand. Spin it around your arm by gently twisting your wrist. Switch arms after a minute.5. Seated waist hooping Sit on a sturdy chair with the hoop around your waist. Use small hip movements to spin the hoop.6. Hula hoop stretching Hold the hoop overhead with both your hands. Stretch it upward, then lean side-to-side to stretch your torso.7. Hula hoop passing Sit or stand in a circle with your friends or family members. Pass the hoop around the circle without breaking the chain.8. Standing oblique twists Hold the hoop in front of you with your hands. Twist your torso side-to-side while keeping the equipment steady.Larger hula hoops are better for seniors because they rotate slower, making them easier to use. âA good diameter is 38 to 42 inches (measured from the floor to your navel when standing),â suggests Thakur. Also, go for foam-padded ones, as they are comfortable and reduce the risk of bruising while using.Who should avoid hula hoop exercise?Hula hooping can be beneficial for elderly, but some people should avoid them: People with arthritis or those with severe joint pain should not do the hula hoop exercise, as the hip and spine movements can aggravate the condition. Seniors who find it hard to stand or balance should skip it, as standing exercises may increase the risk of falling. Recent surgery patients should also not do it, as it may strain healing tissues.Hula hoop exercise for seniors is an effective way to stay physically, and mentally fit. But choose the right size to make it easier to use. Also, warm up to loosen your muscles and prevent injuries.Related FAQsDoes hula hooping flatten your stomach?Hula hooping strengthens and tones your core muscles, which can contribute to a flatter stomach over time. However, fat loss in this area depends on your overall diet and calorie deficit. Hula hooping alone wonât spot-reduce belly fat, but itâs a great addition to a full-body fitness routine. How many minutes a day should I hula hoop? For seniors, 10â15 minutes a day is a good starting point. As you build endurance, aim for 20â30 minutes, 3â5 times a week. Consistency is key to seeing benefits without overexerting yourself.

As the cooler months approach, the risk of catching the common cold or flu increases. These seasonal illnesses can make you feel miserable and disrupt your daily life. The good news is that with a little preparation and some preventive measures, you can protect yourself and your loved ones from the worst of these illnesses. One of the most effective ways to stay healthy this season is by getting the flu vaccine, and Avante Pharmacy is here to help you do just that.

Why Should You Get the Flu Vaccine?
Flu viruses change every year, which is why the flu vaccine is updated annually to protect against the most prevalent strains. The flu can lead to serious complications, especially for young children, the elderly, and individuals with underlying health conditions. Even for healthy adults, the flu can cause days of discomfort and missed work or school.
Hereâs how the flu vaccine helps:
Prevents flu-related complications: By reducing your chances of contracting the flu, the vaccine lowers the risk of complications like pneumonia, hospitalization, or even death, particularly in vulnerable groups.
Reduces the severity of symptoms: If you do catch the flu after being vaccinated, symptoms are typically less severe, and recovery is faster.
Protects those around you: Getting vaccinated not only protects you but also helps prevent the spread of the virus to others, especially those who may be at higher risk.
How to Prepare for the Flu Season
Get Vaccinated Early: The flu vaccine typically becomes available in the fall, and itâs best to get vaccinated early before flu activity peaks. Avante Pharmacy offers a convenient flu vaccine injection service that makes it easy to get vaccinated, whether you're at home, at work, or at one of our pharmacy locations.
Wash Your Hands Frequently: One of the easiest ways to reduce the risk of flu transmission is by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water arenât available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid Close Contact: If you feel under the weather, avoid close contact with others, especially those who are at higher risk of severe flu complications. Stay home when you're sick to prevent spreading the virus.
Boost Your Immune System: Eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, and exercising regularly can help your immune system stay strong throughout flu season.
Disinfect Surfaces Regularly: The flu virus can survive on surfaces for hours, so itâs important to clean and disinfect commonly touched items like doorknobs, light switches, and cell phones.
Avante Pharmacyâs Flu Vaccine Injection Service
At Avante Pharmacy, we make it easy for you to get vaccinated and stay protected this flu season. Our flu vaccine injection service is quick, safe, and administered by certified professionals. We offer the following services to make the process as convenient as possible:
In-Store and On-Site Vaccinations: Whether you prefer to visit our pharmacy or need the vaccine at your home or workplace, Avante Pharmacy offers flexible vaccination options.
Easy Appointment Scheduling: You can book your flu vaccine injection appointment online or by calling our pharmacy. We offer both individual and group vaccination services, so itâs perfect for families, offices, and community groups.
Expert Guidance: Our pharmacists are available to answer any questions you may have about the flu vaccine, its effectiveness, and any potential side effects. Your health and comfort are our priority.
The Flu Shot: What to Expect
The flu shot is typically administered as a quick and easy injection into the upper arm. Most people experience only mild side effects, such as soreness at the injection site or a low-grade fever, which typically subside within a day or two. These are normal reactions and indicate that your body is building protection against the flu virus.
Is the Flu Vaccine Right for You?
The flu vaccine is recommended for almost everyone aged 6 months and older, including pregnant women. However, some individuals with certain allergies or medical conditions may need to consult with their doctor before getting vaccinated. Our pharmacists at Avante Pharmacy can provide guidance based on your individual health needs.
Stay Healthy This Flu Season
Taking proactive steps to prevent the flu, including getting vaccinated, can help ensure a healthier, more comfortable season for you and your loved ones. Avante Pharmacy is committed to providing accessible and high-quality flu vaccine services, so you can protect yourself and others from the flu.
Ready to get vaccinated? Contact Avante Pharmacy today to schedule your flu vaccine injection. Let us help you stay healthy and prepared for the flu season!

Alleviate Discomfort with Shoulder Pain Physiotherapy in Surrey
Shoulder pain can be severely debilitating, impacting even mundane daily activities. With a simple lift of an object to position your arm above your head, shoulder pain can severely diminish one's range of movement and quality of life. At Legend Physiotherapy, we help relieve the discomfort of shoulder pain with individualized programs of physiotherapy to help restore function and prevent further injury. Let's take a look at common causes of shoulder pain, the benefits of physiotherapy, and how our team can help you get back to life without pain.
Understanding Shoulder Pain
The Shoulder Pain Physiotherapy in Surrey is one of the most complicated and movable joints in the body, composed of numerous muscles, tendons, and ligaments, thus offering mobility as well as stability. This complexity makes the shoulder mostly subject to injuries and pain, which can be caused by many different sources.
Causes of Shoulder Pain are Common
Rotator cuff injury The rotator cuff consists of muscles and tendons surrounding the shoulder joint. Injuries to rotator cuffs, such as tears, inflammation, or tendinitis, are one of the most common causes of shoulder pain. It arises due to repetitive motions, trauma, or the effect of time over repeated wear and tear.
Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis) It is frozen shoulder where the shoulder joint capsule becomes thickened and tight, preventing movements of the joint that were once normal. It may be a long-term condition and often occurs in the aftermath of a period of inactivity, such as following a surgical or injury condition, and can include painful stiffness to a degree.
Shoulder Impingement Syndrome Shoulder impingement occurs when the rotator cuff tendons are pinched or compressed where they pass through the narrow space under the shoulder blade. Irregularities in the structures lining this space often cause pain and irritation, especially with overhead movement of the arm.
Shoulder Dislocation A dislocated shoulder is a condition resulting from the displacement of the upper arm bone from its joint by either trauma or extreme stretching of its ligaments. The process can be painful and leads to instability. Most of these cases require emergency treatment.
Arthritis There are two common types of arthritis: osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, which can cause shoulder joint pain, stiffness, and loss of motion. Arthritis is known to affect the elderly, and its symptoms gradually become worse over time if it remains untreated.
Tendonitis This is a common inflammation in the tendons of the shoulder. It is caused by repetitive motion or overuse. Most commonly, it affects the athletes or individuals whose activities require overhead movement.
Bursitis is the inflammation of the bursa, which is a small fluid-filled sac that reduces friction about the shoulder joint. It often causes pain and swelling that worsen with movement.
Causes of Shoulder Pain
The symptoms of shoulder pain vary in intensity and type based on the underlying cause. Some symptoms are;
Itching or aching when lifting or moving the arm.
Stiffness or a reduction in the active motion.
Swelling or tenderness around the shoulder joint.
Weakness in the shoulder or the arm
Crunching or clicking noises when moving
Pain in the arm that seems to radiate from elsewhere
If you're living with chronic shoulder pains, or if you're experiencing any of the following, do not wait to get professional attention to prevent more damage from occurring.
How Physiotherapy Can Relieve Shoulder Pain
Physiotherapy is a rather very effective, non-invasive type of treatment used on the shoulder. Using these pillars-manual therapy, exercise, and education-at Legend Physiotherapy enables us to deal with the root causes of pain in the shoulder to enhance healing. Therefore, we want you to regain strength, mobility, and function while preventing recurrence.
Benefits of Shoulder Pain Physiotherapy in Surrey
Shoulder physiotherapy may be of great assistance both in acute as well as in chronic shoulder pains through joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, and electrical stimulation.
Inflammation and blood movement can be reduced. It promotes healing.
Reducing immobility Shoulder pain usually causes reduced mobility along with stiffness. Guided stretching exercise and manual therapy enable shoulder joints to be flexible once again through physiotherapy treatment.
Weak muscles around the shoulder joint may make someone unstable and even aching. Physiotherapy will focus on strengthening these structures, especially the rotator cuff muscles, the deltoids, and these surrounding structures to add stability to that joint and prevent the injury from reoccurrence.
Not to mention, a patient will be educated on proper body mechanics and posture by a physiotherapist. That way, you would not encounter the same kind of strain again, nor injury. Long-term strength and flexibility would also be taken cared of with exercises from a physiotherapist.
Customize your treatment programs Every case of shoulder pain is unique and varied, which means that physiotherapy services at Legend Physiotherapy are delivered specifically within the context of every particular case. Well-qualified physiotherapists will undertake a comprehensive assessment to determine the cause of your pain and then formulate a treatment program uniquely designed according to your needs and requirements.
Most instances avoid surgical activity because physiotherapy treatment is likely to be fully effective for shoulder pain without such surgery. Physiotherapy may resolve causative problems and strengthen the muscles in the joints in a minimal number of cases involving surgery.

Manual Therapy Techniques
Manual therapy is a hands-on treatment. It mobilizes the patient's joints and soft tissues through joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, and trigger point therapy. Its application is mainly seen in the handling of frozen shoulder, injuries on the rotator cuff, and the impingement of shoulders.

The Dedicated Farmers
The farmers were extraordinary caretakers of the animals, tending to them with unparalleled love and devotion. In times of urgency, especially during breeding seasons, their skills shone brightly, making them the best in their craft. Each farmer meticulously brought food and water to every animal, catering to the diverse collection of species that inhabited their farms.
The bond between the farmers and their animals was remarkable, forged through years of mutual respect and understanding. They knew each animal by name and personality, ensuring that their needs were met with utmost care and attention. Whether it was a newborn calf needing warmth or an elderly horse requiring gentle exercise, the farmers were always there, providing comfort and support.
The farms themselves were a sight to behold, sprawling landscapes dotted with various pens and enclosures, each tailored to the specific needs of the animals. From spacious pastures for grazing to cozy barns for rest, every detail was meticulously planned and executed, showcasing the farmers' deep commitment to their work.
The animals thrived under the care of these skilled farmers, their health and happiness evident in their vibrant coats and playful demeanor. It was a testament to the farmers' dedication that even the most challenging cases were met with patience and compassion, ensuring that every animal received the best possible care.
As the seasons changed, so did the tasks on the farm. Spring brought new life, with newborn animals requiring extra care and attention. Summer was a time of growth and abundance, with the farmers working tirelessly to ensure that their animals had more than enough to eat and drink.
Autumn was a season of preparation, as the farmers stocked up on supplies and made repairs to the farm in anticipation of the coming winter. And when winter finally arrived, blanketing the farm in a layer of snow, the farmers were ready, ensuring that their animals were warm and well-fed throughout the colder months.
Through it all, the farmers remained steadfast in their commitment to their animals, their unwavering dedication shining through in everything they did. They were more than just caretakers; they were stewards of the land and its creatures, ensuring that both thrived in harmony.
Their boss was a peculiar figure indeed, a mystical centaur. His lower half was that of a normal stallion, strong and majestic, while his upper body was like that of a hulking bovine, with arms that bulged with muscle and a belly that spoke of hearty meals. His face was a mix of bull features, complete with a pair of horns that protruded proudly, and atop his head sat a hat, adding to his already imposing presence.
Despite his intimidating appearance, the centaur boss was a fair and just leader, respected by all who worked under him. His deep understanding of both animal and human nature made him a valuable asset to the farm, and his mystical abilities often came in handy during times of need.
The farmers looked up to him as a mentor, seeking his guidance and wisdom in all matters. His presence on the farm was a comforting one, a reminder that they were protected and cared for under his watchful eye.
The centaur boss took great pride in his work, ensuring that the farm ran smoothly and efficiently. He was a master of organization, delegating tasks with precision and overseeing every aspect of the farm's operations with a keen eye.
Despite his busy schedule, the centaur boss always made time for his employees, listening to their concerns and offering advice when needed. His presence was a calming influence on the farm, and his mystical aura seemed to imbue the land with a sense of tranquility.
Overall, the centaur boss was a beloved figure on the farm, respected for his wisdom, admired for his strength, and cherished for his kindness. Under his leadership, the farm flourished, becoming a haven for both animals and humans alike.
The centaur boss watched over and managed his farm with a keen eye, entrusting the day-to-day operations to his trusted female employees. He had invested heavily in the farm, which he had built from the ground up with his own hands.
The farm was not just a business to him; it was a labor of love, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He took great pride in the collection of animals he had amassed over the years, each one carefully selected and cared for under his watchful gaze.
His employees, whom he considered more like family, shared his passion for the farm and its animals. They worked tirelessly to ensure that the farm ran smoothly, carrying out his instructions with precision and care.
Despite his imposing presence, the centaur boss was a fair and compassionate leader, always willing to listen to his employees' ideas and concerns. He valued their input and treated them with respect, earning their loyalty and devotion in return.
Under his guidance, the farm thrived, becoming a model of efficiency and sustainability. The centaur boss's dedication to his farm and his employees was unwavering, making him not just a boss, but a true leader in every sense of the word.
The centaur boss hired four female farmers to take care of his farm. There's Stella, the caretaker, with straight brown hair, a petite body, wide chest, and a small bottom; Gessica, the dairy farmer, with straight dark hair, a petite body, wide chest, and a small bottom; Sheila, a sweet farmer girl, with straight dark brown hair, a petite Latino body, light brown skin, wide chest, and a small bottom; and another farmer named Stella, with straight blonde-brown hair, a petite body, wide and heavy chest like a ball, and a small bottom. She wears a small crown on top of her head and has angel wings on her back. Both Stellas are caretakers, always under the watchful eye of the Centaur boss.
The four female farmers tasked with caring for the animals on the centaur boss's farm were dedicated to their work, but their favorite animals by far were the stallions. These majestic creatures held a special place in their hearts, and they had even given them names: Whitebrown, a brown stallion with a white stripe on his muzzle; Dark, a dark-colored stallion; Brown, a brown stallion; and Palebrown, a pale brown stallion.
The bond between the farmers and the stallions was one of mutual respect and affection. The farmers treated the stallions with kindness and love, as their boss demanded nothing less. The centaur boss had invested heavily in his farm, and he made it clear that the well-being of his animals was of utmost importance to him.
Whitebrown, Dark, Brown, and Palebrown were more than just animals to the farmers; they were friends. The stallions would often nuzzle the farmers affectionately, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. The farmers knew each stallion's personality quirks and preferences, ensuring that they were well cared for and content.
On the centaur boss's farm, the stallions were given the best of everything. They had spacious paddocks to roam in, plenty of fresh water and food, and comfortable shelters to rest in. The farmers made sure that the stallions were groomed regularly, their coats shining in the sunlight.
The stallions, in turn, were gentle giants, always eager to please their caretakers. They would often nuzzle and nicker softly, their eyes reflecting the trust and affection they felt for the farmers. The bond between them was unbreakable, a testament to the power of love and care.
As the seasons changed, so did the farm, but one thing remained constant: the bond between the farmers and their beloved stallions. Through hard work and dedication, they had forged a connection that would last a lifetime, a bond that transcended words and spoke directly to the heart.
âââââââââââââââââââââââThe story narrates the extraordinary dedication of four female farmers in caring for the animals on Centaur boss's farm. With unparalleled love and devotion, they demonstrate exceptional skills during critical times, such as breeding seasons. Each farmer meticulously tends to the food and hydration of all animals, which include diverse species. The relationship between the farmers and the animals is marked by mutual respect and understanding, built over the years. They know each animal by name and personality, ensuring that their needs are met with care and attention. The farmers' favorite animals are the stallions, with whom they share a special and affectionate connection, treating them with kindness and love. Â Â âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ

Achieve Your Physical Goals with Blood Flow Restriction: Physical Therapy in St. Pete
If youâve recently seen someone weightlifting with bands wrapped around their biceps, theyâre probably experimenting with Blood Flow Restriction Training, or BFR.
The goal of BFR is to keep arterial blood flowing to muscles while preventing venous blood from returning. Wrapping, banding, or cuffing the leg or arm while exercising is a type of exercise known as occlusion training.
This training plan is beneficial because it can induce muscle adaptations at much lower weights. BFR is said to provide many of the same advantages as heavy lifting while avoiding muscle damage. Blood Flow Restriction Training also helps with post-workout recovery and reduces atrophy during injuries.
Would you like to learn more about the benefits of blood flow restriction at our St. Petersburg clinic? If so, give Physical Therapy in St. Petersburg a call today!
What is blood flow restriction?
Blood flow restriction is based on the widely held belief that the therapies cause a âlocal hypoxic event,â in which the tissues in the affected area are briefly deprived of oxygen.
While this may appear to be a risk, local hypoxia aids in the accumulation of extra metabolites. During exercise, this process regulates the bodyâs anabolic response system (how the body grows muscle protein).
In essence, decreasing blood flow in the affected area promotes the formation of more muscle protein.
You can safely regulate the amount of tourniquet pressure for your specific needs with personalized blood flow restriction devices, such as the Personalized Tourniquet System (PTS) that we offer. Personalized blood flow restriction, according to the Owens Recovery Science website, has several advantages, including but not limited to:
Increasing hypertrophy with only 30% loads
Improving muscle endurance in 1/3 the time
Improving muscle protein synthesis in the elderly
Enhancing strength and hypertrophy after surgery
Improving muscle activation
Increasing growth hormone responses
Diminishing atrophy and loss of strength from disuse and non-weight bearing after injuries
Increasing strength with only 30% loads
How can this method provide pain relief?
Compression devices, similar to blood pressure cuffs, are used during blood flow restriction treatments. The pressure created by these compression devices is high enough to obstruct blood flow within the affected muscles by 50-80%. This deviceâs safety has been established through research.
At your initial appointment, one of our physical therapists who specializes in blood flow restriction will perform a physical examination, review of your medical history, and discuss your symptoms to determine if blood flow restriction is the best treatment option for you.
Blood flow restriction has been used to treat almost any upper or lower body ailment and is a type of post-surgery rehabilitation. The compression device itself measures the amount of pressure recommended for the affected area for the patient to complete each targeted workout and achieve the desired results.
The goal of limiting blood flow during workouts at St. Pete Physical Therapy is to exhaust the damaged area in order to activate the bodyâs natural healing and tissue-building processes. This will allow you to recover faster and return to your sport as soon as possible.
Muscle soreness may occur for a day or two after treatment, but this is nothing to be concerned about. âLimb fatigueâ may also occur for 20-30 minutes after treatment but should disappear quickly.
What else do I need to know about blood flow restriction?
Blood flow restriction can be combined with other types of exercise such as walking, running, or resistance training. In fact, when compared to workouts that only use resistance training, exercise programs that include both BFR and low-load resistance training appear to have numerous positive effects on the muscle.
This treatment method appears to improve strength, hypertrophy (increased muscle size), muscle activity, and post-exercise muscle protein synthesis. The combination of BFR and resistance training has also been shown to increase growth hormone levels in conventional resistance training. Resistance training programs incorporating BFR and low loads (20 â 30% of 1RM) appear to increase strength.
The goal of blood flow restriction during the exercises is to tire out the affected area in order to stimulate the bodyâs natural healing and tissue-building processes. This process uses 30% of the normally required loads while providing the same desired results.
This significant reduction in required load means less stress on any joint, allowing for strengthening where traditional strengthening would be ineffective. As a result, your strength will be accelerated, allowing you to reach your goals faster.
Before attempting Blood Flow Restriction Training, you should consult a physician if you are pregnant, have cardiac disease, high blood pressure, or varicose veins.
