I decided I am going to rewrite that response Tumblr shredded after all. So the original post was from a Vettel fan who called out HAM and LEC fans for being so upset about the DSQs when there had been plenty of drivers in the past getting disqualified.
First of all, it has been a while since someone was disqualified. And it was actually Sebastian Vettel at the 2021 Hungarian GP for not having a sufficient fuel sample after the race. I'm pretty sure people were upset then too, as it cost him his podium.
As for plenty of drivers, there have been a total of 93 (out of 775) drivers who have been disqualified over the years. Of the current grid 7 drivers now have a DSQ:
Daniel Ricciardo (2014 Australia - fuel mass flow too high; 2019 Japan - brakes infringement)
Lewis Hamilton (2009 Australia - misleading stewards; 2023 USA - rear skid below minimum)
Sergio Perez (2011 Australia - illegal wing)
Esteban Ocon (2018 USA - fuel mass flow too high)
Kevin Magnussen (2018 USA - fuel consumption too high)
Nico Hulkenberg (2019 Japan - brakes infringement)
Charles Leclerc (2023 USA - rear skid below minimum)
Source: Stats F1
But the rear skid being below minimum has only ever led to one other DSQ: Michael Schumacher at the 1994 Belgium GP. Something by the way, I was already thinking of a few weeks ago when I was making my "predictions" for this weekend:
Tumblr media
In case you don't recall or heard about it: the Red Bull drivers were thought to be lifting through Eau Rouge to avoid too much plank wear, after they set up the cars for wet weather, and the race ended up being in dry weather. Brrrake did an in-depth video analysis on this at the time:
youtube
Interesting unrelated tidbit: Martin Brundle has 8 DSQs. Looks like this mostly stems from his team Tyrrell getting disqualified, because all but one are from 1984. In fact, the top 3 drivers on this list have a combined 23 DSQs, with 21 of them from 1984 when they were driving for Tyrrell.

i got this ideia on my mind for a couple of weeks now so here it is, as i need to say: this is fictional, and does not have any compromise with reality, the teams here are real and are the teams i support during the volleyball season, this will be a short one
The Beginning | Lewis Hamilton Imagine | Prologue
pietra caspari is one of the most successful volleyball players in the world for the past 5 years, bronze medalist in rio olympics in 2016 and gold medalist in tokyo olympics in 2021, combined with lewis hamilton, 7 times world champion, they made one of the most genuine couple on the 2022 grid, but they story started years before.
2014
everything started in 2014. "lewis hamilton signs with mercedes" was the news it was on every motorsport vehicle, the magazines, blogs, the radio, tv, everything was about hamilton going to mercedes and it was when alan caspari decided he wanted to join the formula one world, he was rich, had a successful company and he made an offer expecting mercedes to say yes, and they did, so when hamilton signed with mercedes, alson alan became one of the main sponsors of the racing team.
2014 was also the year priya left college and went to her first pro season in turkey, she was playing with vakifbank, she was in her last year of college when someone from turkey went to watch the ncaa finals, and they liked what they saw, they picked two young players and offered them an adaptation season, if the girls outperformed they had the interest on keeping them. priya and dahlia went to turkey knowing that pro life in volleyball was cruel, tough and very different from college volleyball.
2014 was a year of turning over, hamilton signed with mercedes and became a two time world champion, on the other hand, vakif season wasn't great, they won the turkish supercup and it was all. priya was already thinking about options, where she could go if they choose to not renew her contract? does she had was it was necessary to play in the biggest volleyball team? does she had what it takes to be a volleyball player? she knew the difficulties about that life and she choose it anyway, and she didn't regret it.
2015
considering that the turkish season ended earlier for them, they got the chance to watch the spanish gp and monaco gp; because during 2015 summer break priya and dahlia were summoned to the usa national team, the were a year from the olympics and they wanted to put a solid team together and seeing what the girls could do together, the smartest decision was to put them together again. they spent the whole summer training in california, they got closer with the other players, they grew as a person and as a player.
it was during the spanish gp that priya met lewis for the first time, she went alone to spain, it was a family time - a much needed one after the exhausting season, her parents and siblings were there, sitting inside mercedes garage, watching the race from the most privileged spot. nico rosberg won that one, it was a win-win to the constructors championship, but it wasn't him who got priya's attention, it was the british man. lewis went to say hi to your father and introduced himself to you and your siblings, samuel, who was just two years younger than you was already one of his biggest fans, and lewis treated him so well that warmed your heart, even the youngers who were 16 and 14 and didn't exactly see the appeal about it got hypothesized by him, and when he extended his hands to introduce himself to you was the moment you fell in love with the sport. it was all it take, a spain gp and a hand shake and you were watching all the races from that day on.
the 2015 season started pretty nice for the turkish team, priya was playing with olympic players, she could see the biggest opposite from all the times every day at practice, and she learned so much that season that she wouldn't make any moment different.
2015 was also the year that lewis became a three times world champion, the caspari family went to the last race of the year, and at that point all of them (lauren's exception, the third daughter) were mercedes supporters. and they celebrate that win. priya did insane things that weekend on november 2015, she took a flight in turkey on saturday afternoon and landed in abu dhabi on the same night, she watched the race, celebrated the win and on monday morning she was inside a plane again. that celebration night was also the first time pietra and lewis kissed each other, and it was a deep kiss, it was full with luxury, the adrenalin was high, they were feeling so much in so short time, the kiss led to more than a kiss and when the morning arrived that november 30rd, priya was collecting her clothes from the floor, she left like she had never been there.
2016
it was olympics time, once the 2015-16 season started everyone knew it would be a shorter season, after all, all the world would watch the show who was getting ready in rio.
2016 was a great year for vakif as a team, they won the turkish league, they were silver at the supercup and the european league, but what it was amazing for pietras caspari was being one of the twelve names on the rio list, she was there, dahlia was there, they would share one of the happiest moments in her life. when the team went together for the first time the coach said to team for them not to let it grow, they were coming in case of a much needed inversion, they already have an excellent setter and a better outside hitter. in one hand, team usa got the silver medal on the other hand, lewis lost the championship to his teammate.
2017
the 2016-17 season was a great season, vakif was europe champions, they won against conegliano and became champions of the europe and it was priya last season in turkey, but it was also the season she becamefor the first time champion of europe.
2017 was the year lewis gave everything, he was a four times world champion, and once again pietra was there to the last race, they celebrated all over again, exactly how it was in 2015, it was like a big deja vu, but on monday she had to left again, that time they said goodbye, they properly shake hands and moved on.
2018
at the end of the last season priya received an offer to play in brazil, in the minas tênis club team, they were one of the biggest teams in the country and the national league there was really strong, her contract with the italian team was just for a season, so she packed it up and went to brazil for the next 2 seasons, 2017-18 and 2018-2019 and watching the races became harder than she expected, but her professional life was better and better, she kept growing and evolving day by day.
2017, 2018 and 2019 was also years lewis won the championship, he was a 6 times world champion, she was there for every last race and they celebrate all of them in the exactly same way. they spent the night between expensive sheets, they knew each other's bodies like their hands and yet, all the 3 years they said goodbye on monday.
2020
it was when everything changed. during one hard match in january, priya shattered her left knee, everything she had done all these years were falling from her hands, when she landed after spiking that ball she felt it, she knew something was wrong, she kept thinking "my career is ending here or i still have a chance?"
alan put her inside a plane as soon as the team doctor said it was better for her to recover from home, after all these years in formula one, priya's mom who was italian convinced the family to move to california to south italy, but she never went to italy, she went to monte carlo, an expensive hospital with one of the best orthopedist and the best physiotherapy in europe, she had her contract terminated because of injury and was when she and lewis switched more than moans and a few words.
he was there, every step of the way, he even let priya to have angela taking care of her once she could walk again, and they became closer, all the nights they had in past stayed in the past, they were starting over, they were grow up adults and the days where hooking up with someone for one nigh each year was gone. they became friends, and more than friends, and thats how the story starts, from here.

25 Days of BeChloe Christmases 2022
Day 13 - Santa Baby
Prompt from FanFiction User RJRMovieFan: I would love a sequel about Beca Noelle Claus and her wife, Chloe Claus (Chapter 6, "The Mrs. Clause" from 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases-2021). Chloe wants to have kids, so she and Beca go to a fertility clinic in "Barden, GA."
Note: I'm asking you to suspend your belief and just accept that getting pregnant at a fertility clinic is quick and easy.
"So, we're really doing this?" Beca asked Chloe as she helped the elves ready the smaller sleigh for their trip.
"We've talked about it enough," Chloe said. "Now it's time to do something about it, dontcha think?"
"You're right, dear," Beca said.
"Of course I am," Chloe said, kissing Beca on the cheek.
"Okay, guys, make sure you set the GPS coordinates to Barden, Georgia, USA."
"We know, Santa," Elf Randy said. "It's not our first rodeo."
Beca glared at him. "You know there are a lot of elves who would love to have your job."
"Santa, leave Elf Randy alone," Chloe said. "He and the other elves have been getting you where you need to be for a while. And they haven't sent you to the wrong place yet, have they?"
"No, dear," Beca said.
"Now apologize to Elf Randy," Chloe said.
"But, he-"
"Apologize. And, make it sincere."
"Yes, dear," Beca said. Clearing her throat, she said, "Elf Randy, I sincerely apologize for questioning your abilities to set the correct GPS coordinates."
Elf Randy stood looking at Santa Beca.
"Elf Randy," Chloe said, getting the elf's attention. "Tell Santa thank you and that you accept her apology."
"Yes, Mrs. Clause," Elf Randy said and cleared his throat. "Thank you, Santa. I accept your apology."
"Good," Chloe said, smiling at everyone. "Let's go. We do have an appointment to keep."
Beca helped Chloe into the sleigh as the elves finished the takeoff preparations.
"This is it," Beca said.
"Let's go!" Chloe said excitedly.
"On Snowcone," Beca called out, snapping the reins.
Snowcone snorted and started running; soon, the sleigh was airborne.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
"I can't believe we're almost there," Chloe said, her excitement palpable.
"Engaging the invisibility shield," Beca said as she flipped the switch. "Now, we just need to find a place to land. Oh, there!" Beca pointed out a clear space and guided Snowcone toward it.
The landing was a bit bumpy, and Beca and Chloe were jostled. They exited the sleigh, and Beca made sure the coast was clear before stepping away.
"That was a bit rough, Snowcone," Beca said. "We'll practice your landings when we get back to the North Pole."
Snowcone snorted, lowered his head, and pawed the ground.
"Don't get sassy with me," Beca said.
"Beca," Chloe said, putting a hand on her arm. "We have to check into our hotel and go to the clinic. If we don't leave now, we're going to be late for our appointment at the clinic."
"Oh, right," Beca said, grabbing their suitcase from the sleigh.
Beca took Chloe's hand and pulled out her phone to see where they had to go. "It's this way."
After checking in, Beca called an Uber to take them to the clinic. A short while later, Beca and Chloe made it to the fertility clinic. Once inside, they were greeted by a buxom brunette.
"Welcome to the Barden Family Fertility Clinic, may I help you?" the brunette said.
"Yes, thank you, Stacie," Beca said. "We have an appointment."
"How do you know my name?" Stacie asked, furrowing her brows.
"Um," Beca mumbled, looking at Chloe.
"She read your name tag," Chloe said, pointing at Stacie's chest.
"Oh, yeah," Stacie said. "Of course. May I have your names please?"
"Beca and Chloe Mitchell," Beca said.
Stacie looked them up on her computer.
"Ah, here you are," Stacie said. "You'll both be seeing Dr. Posen. She has a ninety-five percent success rate. Have a seat and we'll call you back shortly."
"Thank you, Stacie," Chloe said, taking Beca's hand.
Chloe led Beca to a seat and sat down. Beca was chuckling.
"What's so funny?"
"Oh, it's nothing." Beca said, looking around before whispering, "It's just Stacie is on both the naughty and nice list. That doesn't happen very often."
"Hmmm," Chloe said, nervously bouncing her leg up and down.
"Are you okay?" Beca asked.
"Yeah," Chloe said. "I'm just nervous. We're about to find out if we can have a baby, Beca. That's huge."
Beca smiled and kissed Chloe. "I love you. You are going to be the best mom."
"Thank you," Chloe said. "I love you, too."
"Beca and Chloe Mitchell," Stacie called out. "Dr. Posen will see you now. Follow me, please."
Beca and Chloe got up and followed Stacie.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
Beca and Chloe were both examined and given clean bills of health. They were sitting in Dr. Posen's office to discuss the next steps.
"So, which of you wants to be the carrier?" Dr. Posen asked.
"I do," Chloe said, raising her hand.
Beca smiled at Chloe but spoke to Dr. Posen. "We'd like to use my eggs if possible."
"We can do that," Dr. Posen said. "Since your wife will be the one carrying the child, we can start today on the Reciprocal IVF Process."
"What does that entail?" Beca asked.
"It's a basic four-step process," Dr. Posen said. "First, we will give you both medication to synchronize your menstrual cycles."
"We've lived together for quite some time," Chloe said, chuckling. "We're already in sync with each other."
"Oh, really?" Dr. Posen said. "Well, that's good. So we can move on to the next step and retrieve eggs from Beca and fertilize them. Then we wait a couple of days to transfer the fertilized eggs into Chloe. Do you have a donor in mind?"
"Not yet," Chloe said. "We want to use an anonymous donor."
"Great," Dr. Posen said, standing. "Let's have you take a look at our donors so you can pick one."
Dr. Posen showed Beca and Chloe into a room with shelves of binders.
"What are you looking for in a donor?" Dr. Posen asked.
"We'd like someone with the same color hair and eyes as Beca," Chloe said.
"Okay," Dr. Posen said as she went to a shelf and pulled out a binder. "This binder has brunette men with blue eyes. Take a look through here and see if anyone catches your attention."
Dr. Posen set the binder on the table, and Chloe pulled it to her.
"Once you've made a selection, press the button next to the door," Dr. Posen said. "A light will come on, so we know you're ready."
"Thank you, doctor," Beca said.
Dr. Posen left the couple alone; Chloe opened the binder and started looking through it.
"Oh, I like this one," Chloe said, pointing at the man's photo. "He has brown hair and dark blue eyes like you. Ooo, and he's a doctor."
Beca looked at the photo and nodded. "I like him, too."
"Okay," Chloe said, continuing to look through the binder. She went back to the first photo they liked and asked, "I like him the best. What do you say? Have we decided on this one?"
"Yeah," Beca said. "I'll press the button to let them know we've made a decision."
Dr. Posen entered the room, and the couple informed Dr. Posen of their selection.
"Okay," Dr. Posen said. "Beca, if you come with me, we can retrieve your eggs. Chloe, you can go back with her if you want."
"I want you with me," Beca said.
"Okay," Chloe said.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
A few days later, they went back to the clinic, and Beca's fertilized eggs were transferred to Chloe. Once Dr. Posen finished the procedure, she took off her latex gloves and threw them in the trash. She turned to look at Chloe.
"You can take a home pregnancy test in two weeks to see if it took," Dr. Posen said. "If it's positive, take another one. If that one's positive, call and make an appointment with us to do a blood test to confirm you're pregnant."
"Okay," Chloe said.
Beca took Chloe back to their hotel and went back out on her own. She came back with dinner and five pregnancy tests to take home with them.
"I want to make sure we are prepared," Beca said when Chloe saw all the tests.
The next day, Beca and Chloe returned to the North Pole with as much fanfare as if Santa was returning on Christmas Day.
"How did it go," Beca's mother asked as soon as they got out of the sleigh.
"Well, I got Beca's eggs transferred into me," Chloe said. "And we should know in two weeks if it took."
"This is so exciting," Mrs. Claus said, hugging Chloe.
Beca smiled as she joined her mother and Chloe, hugging them both.
The next two weeks seemed to take forever to get here.
"Today's the day," Chloe said and took the pregnancy test into the bathroom with her.
Beca, Mrs. Claus, and Elf Polly paced outside the bathroom door, narrowly avoiding running into each other.
"Beca?" Chloe called from inside the bathroom.
"Yeah, Chlo?" Beca called back through the door.
"I can hear you guys pacing out there," Chloe said. "Go find something to do, and I'll let you know when I'm done."
Beca turned to her mother and Polly, shooing them with her hands. "You heard her, go find something to do."
"I'll make breakfast," Polly said.
"I'll help," Mrs. Claus said.
The two walked away, and Beca put her ear to the bathroom door.
"I meant you, too, Beca," Chloe called out.
"Sorry," Beca said and went to the kitchen to wait with her mother and Polly.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
"Congratulations," Dr. Posen said. "You are indeed pregnant."
Beca and Chloe squealed and looked at each other.
"This is wonderful news," Beca said, teary-eyed. "When are we due?"
"If my calculations are correct," Dr. Posen said. "You'll be having a Christmas baby."
"Seriously?" Beca asked, wide-eyed.
"Seriously," Dr. Posen said, chuckling.
"Thank you, Dr. Posen," Chloe said. "This will be the most amazing Christmas gift ever."
"You're welcome," Dr. Posen said. "See Stacie before you leave so she can schedule your next appointment. I will want to see you in three months."
"Okay," Chloe said. "Thanks again."
Beca and Chloe made their appointment and went back to their hotel.
"I'm going to call my mom," Beca said.
"Can we just fly back home instead?" Chloe asked. "I want to tell her in person."
"We can do that," Beca said, kissing Chloe. "Why don't you pack while I go check us out."
"Okay," Chloe said.
A short time later, they were in the sleigh and on their way to the North Pole.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
Three months later, Santa's village was abuzz with excitement as Beca and Chloe prepared for their trip to Barden for Chloe's first checkup since finding out she was pregnant.
"Are you going to find out the sex of the baby?" Mrs. Claus asked as they were getting in the sleigh.
"We were going to talk about it during the flight," Beca said. "I think I want to be surprised and not know until the baby is born."
"I feel the same way," Chloe said, smiling as she kissed Beca's cheek.
"I guess we're going to wait and see," Beca said.
"Good luck, " Mrs. Claus said, stepping back from the sleigh.
"See you in a couple of days," Beca said as they started off.
Later that afternoon, Chloe was lying on the table with Beca holding her hand. Dr. Posen was moving the wand over Chloe's stomach.
"Everything looks good," Dr. Posen said. "Do you want to know the sex?"
"No," Chloe said,
"Yes," Beca said.
They looked at each other.
"I thought you wanted to be surprised," Chloe said.
"I did," Beca said. "But I thought about it on the way here, and I changed my mind. I like the idea of calling him or her by name, so we can stop referring to him or her as it."
Chloe chewed her lip for a moment and then looked at Dr. Posen.
"We'd like to know," Chloe said.
Dr. Posen smiled. "You're having a girl."
"Yes!" Beca cheered.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
The first thing Beca did once they were back at the North Pole was to tell her mother they were having a girl.
"We're naming her Kristine, with a K," Beca said. "So, she'll be Kris Kringle like dad."
Tears came to Mrs. Claus's eyes. "That's wonderful. He would be so excited to know the Kringle legacy will live on."
Beca was saddened for a moment thinking about her father, but one smile from Chloe brought her back to a euphoric state.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
Months passed, and all was well with Chloe's pregnancy. It was December 1st, and Santa's workshop went into high gear, getting ready for Christmas.
Two weeks before Christmas, Chloe had another appointment with Dr. Posen for a routine checkup. Beca was too busy to go, so Mrs. Claus and Polly accompanied Chloe.
When they returned, Beca was pleased to learn that everything was going well and that Dr. Posen expected Chloe to deliver on time.
Christmas Eve was here, and Chloe was at the sleigh to see Beca off.
"Don't have Kris until I get back," Beca said, pulling Chloe to her.
"I'll try not to," Chloe said, kissing Beca. "Have a good night! I'll see you in the morning."
"I love you," Beca said, pecking Chloe's lips one last time before getting into the sleigh.
"I love you, too," Chloe said as the reindeer readied themselves.
Beca called out the reindeer names and snapped the reins. Chloe and the elves waved as Beca took off.
Chloe sighed and grabbed her side.
"Chloe, dear, are you alright?" Mrs. Clause asked.
"Um, yeah," Chloe said. "I think I'm in labor."
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases ~~
Beca watched as the last batch of gifts magically made their way down the final chimney.
"That's it, guys," Beca called to the reindeer. "Let's go home."
The reindeer glided through the night and were soon landing in Santa's village. Beca looked around to see only a handful of elves to help secure the reindeer and put the sleigh away.
"Where is everyone?" Beca asked one of the elves.
The elf ignored Beca and quickly began unhitching the reindeer. Beca huffed and stomped off to her house.
The elves snickered as she left. "I wish I could see Santa's face when she finds out."
Beca's eyebrows were furrowed when she saw most of the villagers outside her house.
"What's going on?" Beca asked as she made her way through the crowd.
"Get in here, Santa," Beca's mother called from the front door, motioning for her to hurry.
"Did something happen to Chloe?" Beca asked as she hurriedly entered the house.
Just then, Beca heard a baby's cry and her eyes widened as she ran toward the bedroom she shared with Chloe. She burst through the door to see Chloe lying in bed with Kris in her arms.
"Welcome home, mama!" Chloe said.

Sarah Dunn, 31 (UK 2020)
Tumblr media
Sarah Louise Dunn was 31 years old and already raising 5 children in a pandemic. She decided to get an abortion when she discovered she was pregnant with her 6th child, but she had no idea that she would die along with her baby.
The abortion industry advertises abortion as “safe healthcare”, but the opposite is true. After being given the chemical abortion pill, Sarah began to experience alarming symptoms such as excessive bleeding, abdominal pain, severe leg pain and severe leg pain. She tried to seek medical attention, but her symptoms were dismissed and the warning signs of rapidly advancing sepsis were overlooked.
Days later, Sarah called an ambulance for herself and was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital. She had severe blood poisoning from her sepsis and her organs were already failing. Shortly after, she had a seizure and was transferred to the ICU, where her condition was found to be unsurvivable. Her five surviving children were brought to her bedside to say goodbye as she died of Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Louise Rae, Assistant Coroner for Blackpool & Fylde, reviewed Sarah’s case and wrote to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) warning of the need for greater training on sepsis risk. Her report has been sent to Maria Caulfield MP, DHSC Parliamentary Under Secretary, and notes that symptoms were missed by a GP, who apparently hadn’t noticed the recent abortion in Sarah’s patient records.
Sarah’s case is not an isolated incident. Even when used legally, the abortion pill has killed many others in a strikingly similar way, including but not limited to 18-year-old Holly Patterson, 18-year-old Manon Jones, Chanelle Bryant, Anita Koli, Ashwini Thavai, Oriane Shevin, Hoa Thuy “Vivian” Tran, Maria Del Valle González López and many known only under pseudonyms, including: “Summer” (Canada 2022), “Corrie” (USA 2021–2022), “Carmen” (USA 2008), “Jane of Canada” (2001), “Marcie” (Australia 2010), “Belle” (USA 2009), “Ella” (USA 2009-2010), “Wanda” (USA 2006), “Olivia” (UK 2010), “Janet” (UK 2020), “Crystal” (Canada 2003), “Jess” (UK 2004-2005) and “Janice” (UK 2004-2005).

Ok so firstly.. it’s so sweet and humble of them to acknowledge their incredible achievements and insane records they hold, personally I’m sure it means a lot to them but they certainly had and do have the mindset that those medals and records aren’t everything and it’s what they did for each other- the experiences they shared and what they built together that mean the absolute most- this was soooooo much more than a sport to them.
For T to say to S that she believes he’ll be coaching some team that blows all their records out of the water is a huge complement to him and I know she believes he will change this sport for the better, and that coming from her who he sees on just this completely unreachable pedestal, it must be hard for him coz frankly he said no one will be as great as her and he has to remind himself of that when he’s working with teams ‘I can’t expect these girls to be TV’. 🥲
BUT…
For the sake of it.. let’s explore the possibility for a team- from any country to break TS Olympic medal tally record:
Remember: their record is 🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈
That’s over 3 Olympics.
The first one was from Vancouver: 1x🥇.There was no team event at this point.
Next was Sochi: 2x🥈🥈 the first year the team event was held.
And finally Pyeonchang: 2x 🥇🥇. Gold in the team, gold individually.
So to break TS record a team would need to achieve any of the following combinations (once you get into 6+ medals the colour is interchangeable as long as least 3 are gold and at least two are silver).
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥈
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥈
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈
🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈🥈
🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈🥉
So: a team needs to win AT LEAST 3 gold: that could come either individually or in team event. Individually seems the most likely, however with the rate that the sport is changing, over 8 years, and don’t forget ageing/ teams splitting up/ politics/ judging… there’s a chance.. but not a huge one. Really the only team who came close to this was.. drum roll please 🥁 VIRTUEMOIR. The team event scenario is less likely. This requires there to be a STRONG AF national figure skating team across the board- all disciplines averaging essentially top 5 finishes consistently over 8 years.. so if you look at the state of Canadian figure skating right now, heck just look at the 2022 olys.. that country in particular needs to completely rebuild their national team. And frankly, VM’s era really was a golden age across the board in Canadian figure skating.. multiple times world champions in dance, mens and pairs, world medalists in ladies and WC winner at the worlds directly after the Olympics. There haven’t been any world medalist from Canada after the 17/18 season (that I can think of, GP got a bronze in 2021). This team situation goes for the USA as well, but they are in better shape, a lot of ‘great’ skaters retired after either 2018 and 2022, and as a team they are yet to win gold (still don’t know what’s happening with medals from Beijing) and then Russia I’m not gonna bother talking about coz you know.. they’re currently committing war crimes..
These 5+ medals will of course need to come from both success in the team and individual events- because an even more unlikely scenario is an ID team attending 5 Olympics and winning either 5 gold or 4gold and a silver in either event.
So, those are the broadest examples, and really everything after that are just derivatives from those scenarios.
A “possible” instance for eg: is 6 medals across 3 games: 3 gold coming from a combination of the IE and TE, let’s say 2 individual gold and 1 team gold (same as VM), two silvers- one from the team and one individually (same as VM) and lastly either another silver or bronze from another team event..
For the reasons pointed out above.. that is possible.. but a long shot because it depends not only as a single ice dance team’s success, by the strength of the national team as a whole, and again removing Russia from the equation, coz they have always been strong but also.. doping, the Canadian team in 2018 was somewhat of a unicorn, and they just happened to have strong af skaters in every category- all of which medaled individually in 2018 or had medaled previously (Patrick in 2014) (+Gabi who didn’t medal but was still a world medalist). Individually it will require a team to essentially be.. really top 3 in the world over 8+ years, and or mount an iconic comeback.
The most recent ID winners did not compete in the team event at either olys (18/22) and their team won’t ever be a team medal contender (in the near future anyway) so they have no chance of beating VM’s oly medal record.
So with that mostly covered.. let’s move onto some of their other records.
Let’s examine their reign as the youngest ever oly champs:
They were 20+22 when they won in YVR. I do not watch ID religiously so I don’t know every team or exact ages, but everyone currently competing and even attended the previous olys are already past VM’s age record- all the medalists in Beijing were in their mid- late 20’s/early 30’s, and the next crop behind them- the next 10 teams let’s say, were all well into their 20’s, so at the next olys it would have to be a new team, probably currently in juniors. Now I’m even more uneducated on the Junior Circuit, but I believe the majority of those teams, even if they were to rise above the level of seniors now, wouldn’t age wise be able to cut in under VM.
And a note on that as well, the ID landscape has shifted since VM.. they were an anomaly. They shouldn’t have won when they were that young but they did. An odd sequence of events- the change in the judging system and therefore the athleticism of the sport started to favour younger teams, but now that isn’t so much the case and the younger teams have grown up with this new system and are now older, and are just as athletically capable as the younger ones, but also have the maturity to service the artistry side.
So probably at least in the next several Olympics that record seems pretty out of reach.
Winning at a home games:
(This won’t be breaking a record but only being the second to do it).
This really just depends on luck of the draw. The olys are decided 8+ years out so there’s no way a team 10 years away can guarantee a win that far in the future. The Vancouver olys were announced in 2001 and at that time VM were 12+14- hadn’t moved away from home yet, we’re still growing, no injuries, anything could of happened but as we all know it just worked for them (and they worked for it) so the stars just kinda aligned on that one.
Winning an olys before a worlds title:
(Again will be second to do so).
This is probably the most attainable, but really the least significant, esp since VM have already done it, and it can only happen once coz once you win them both you can’t do that again.
Finally let’s look at the Super Career Grand Slam (my personal point of pride for my dancing bbys):
On the surface this seems possible, but when you think about it..
A team has to first win both the JGPF and Junior worlds, this achievement is very possible, but they then have to first; stay together (if teams split it is often between juniors and seniors) now they can achieve the SCGS with separate partners- but to be second after VM they need to stay together. They then need to win either 4CC or Euros, the GPF, World champs AND the Olympics. That last one is understandably the most likely place to fall flat because they only have once chance every 4 years. The olys and the junior titles are the most critical pieces to complete to gain this title. DW couldn’t do it because they didn’t get the junior titles, PC couldn’t do it because they didn’t get the junior titles. It requires a sustained and gaining excellence across both circuits and about 10-15 years of reign at or near the top.
That’s where VM stand out against everyone else.
There are of course numerous other records regarding points which will easily be broken coz the rules get changed every year, and number of national titles- which they don’t even hold, but ALL OF THE ABOVE… it will take a team with sustained, decades long greatness in a single partnership with the right chain of events and strength of the sport as a whole to top them. It’s a subjective sport so of course people will develop new favourites.. but what’s on the record on paper.. well there’s a reason there’s an acronym for it:
GOATs.
I rest my case.

JGP Istanbul ice dance -one of the lighter fields, especially with the Cypriot team injured and not competing:
youtube
Mariia Pinchuk/Mykyta Pogorielov 🇺🇦 UKR (17/20 yo) they skated a split season last year: were 12th at Junior Worlds and 15th at Senior Europeans. Pinchuk and her mother fled to Austria at the start of the war, and she and Pogorielov train there. they both still have family in Ukraine. they have flair, and at their best, nice skating skills, they hit their key points consistently last season. twizzles were a little less reliable. they're skating a Bon Jovi/Joe Cocker RD and Madonna FD
youtube
Yahli Pederson/Jeffrey Chen 🇺🇸USA (16/21 yo) a newly formed team- she was a solo dancer til recently - i didn't realize she's this young. he skated with Katarina Wolfkostin for 4 seasons, winning a US Jr title and getting 2 senior GP assignments last season. So far, Pedersen/Chen have been 5th in Dallas and won the Lake Placid Jr qualifier. their newness can make them unpredictable, but if they can skate relatively clean they have a strong chance of medaling here. They train at MIDA, and their FD is Phantom, and RD is Queen.
dailymotion
Dana Sabatini-Speciale/Nicholas Buelow 🇨🇦CAN (17/16 yo) this team works with Mitch Islam at Mariposa, so they're probably going through it 😢 they had a JGP last season and were 6th at Jr Nats and 2nd at Next Gen this July. their RD is Jack and Diane and a Stevie Ray Vaughn blues, their FD (at 1:02:45 ⬆️) is Il Postino and Josh Groban. Alexandra Paul was one of their choreographers💔
Tumblr media
they're a sweet team - their big height difference (6'3 and just under 5') makes matching lines a little more challenging, but they do pretty well, and they have a soft flowing quality
youtube
Ambre Perrier Gianesini/Samuel Blanc Klaperman 🇫🇷 FRA (16/16 yo) They were 5th at JGP Linz this past week. their RD is Pointer Sisters, and their FD is to Berlinist
Giulia Isabella Paolino/Andrea Tuba 🇮🇹 ITA (19/20 yo) were 7th at JGP Bangkok
Gina Zehnder/Beda Leon Sieber 🇨🇭SUI (18/19 yo) they have a RD to Yello and Vanessa Paradis. previously skated on the JGP in 2021. 2x National jr champions
Emma Goodstadt/Christian Bennett 🇨🇦 CAN (18/20 yo) she had been on the Next Gen team and had JGP assignments with her previous partner in 2021 and 2022, but he had to stop suddenly for personal reasons. this is a new pairing - they train with Carol Lane. they're skating to B-52's and Black Velvet for the RD and have a James Bond FD. they were 6th at the Lake Placid Jr International and 4th at Next Gen.
