Japanese Usagi Pottery - Little Rays of Happiness
There is something very special with the way usagi (rabbits) are depicted on pottery and fabrics in Japan. I started collecting blue usagi cha cups and fabrics twenty years ago. These are a recent addition to my collection.
The little rabbits look so happy and carefree frolicking together across the scenes. I can’t help but smile when ever I look at them or use them :)

Hello, I love your blog and art! I get really excited whenever I see you post, especially you're tmnt art but I have a question.
In your Welcome to the Nexus AU are there any large personality differences between Comic Usagi and this Usagi? Would your Usagi spend a day fixated on algae farming if he could?
ty! and while there are some differences i try to stick to his personality in the comics as much as i can
he is still the kind of nerd to geek out over something like making pottery, its just the circumstances he's in force him to focus on fighting

Chapter 15: Bonds
Tumblr media
A list of my ROTTMNT related fics under the cut. Most of them are illustrated! 💜
General [9/?]
help me believe (that i'm your brother) (G)
The road to recovery has been long but finally, the brothers are well enough to introduce Future Boy to one of the most comforting of habits - the turtle pile. Unfortunately, Casey has some doubts about his place in their family.
please don't be a hero (again) (G) (part 1 of a series)
Donatello needs his coffee. Leonardo finds him first.
lean on me (i'm strong enough) (G) (part 2 of a series)
Leonardo needs to get better, be better. If not for himself, then for Michelangelo - his baby brother shouldn't worry about him as much as he does.
you make me proud, little brother (G) (part 3 of a series)
Raphael worries and Leo's quip goes wrong. However, it leads to an emotional turnaround neither of them saw coming.
a lesson in trust (G)
Leo feels guilty for getting Raph caught by the Krang and refuses to let go of that burden. His big brother isn't having it anymore.
not quite kintsugi, but close (G) (ongoing)
The plan is simple. If all else fails, Michelangelo will make a time gateway for Casey to undo what Leonardo, in his youthful arrogance, started all those years ago; it will require sacrifice, but they are ready for it. Until the moment comes, of course. Or, in other words - what if Future Leonardo and Michelangelo both end up in the present with Casey? Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery") is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. (Wikipedia)
repeat until death (T) (Major Character Death)
A companion piece to Chapter 7 of not quite kintsugi, but close. Leonardo doesn't want to let go. In the end, as long as Donatello is concerned, he never did.
Cold Feet (G)
Leonardo is enjoying his lazy morning… until a certain human teenager disrupts his peace.
some boys do lay eggs (T)
Leonardo is just about to fall asleep when the weight of a body thuds against the side of his bed, startling him awake, but not awake enough to shake him out of the heaviness of near slumber. “Whassit,” he mumbles, sticking his hand out from his blankets and feeling about until his fingers touch the edge of a hard shell. Ah, he recognises the shape – it’s Leo. “...are we boys?”
sleepless (G)
Leo is so, so tired and goes to his dad. Splinter thinks up a plan to put into motion in the morning - but it seems that he's already helping.
Leoichi (Rise x Usagi Chronicles) [6/?]
with friends like these (G) (part 2 of a series)
Meeting up with his old friends and introducing his new boyfriend to them certainly hadn't been in Yuichi's plans for the day - but it turns out to have been a welcome surprise later when it helps him realise something important about his own feelings.
make your home in me (E) (part 4 of a series)
Click the link to read the summary!
world's end boyfriend (T) (AU)
Leonardo lost Yuichi to the apocalypse almost exactly five years ago. It's now been a year since he, Michelangelo and Casey made their impossible portal trip to the present day, successfully preventing the Krang invasion this time - so imagine Leonardo's surprise when his little brother tells him that they're going to rescue his mate. They only have one chance.
and just like that (T) (ongoing) (part 1 of a series)
What was supposed to be a simple shopping trip to the Hidden City turns into an embodiment of a romcom when Leonardo runs into an unfamiliar white rabbit. Or more accurately, the rabbit's dining table.
soft bunny, warm bunny, little ball of— uh oh (G) (part 3 of a series)
Leonardo feels so lucky. He has the world's softest boyfriend who doesn't mind being treated like a giant teddy bear! Too bad it made him forget something very important.
breathe (and let go) (M) (part 5 of a series)
Leonardo needs a break from his… everything, and Yuichi is always more than happy to indulge him.
cracks never healed (they can heal now) (T)
Their plans for a nice date go awry when Leonardo and Yuichi run into a giant rampaging robot. It's swiftly dealt with, but not without a price.
well worth the wait (G)
Hana has been worried about her adoptive father's new relationship. Yuichi puts those worries to rest.
And that's it! For now. <3

I was thinking about a cool idea for a highschool AU for ROTTMNT + Usagi bc I never really see any and it’s one of my favorite tropes. Also, since it’s the second semester at my school, all the clubs and sports teams are showing off to get younger students to join next year, and it kinda inspired this idea. Anyways, I present to you my headcanons for what electives they take and stuff :) (ps, this is based on how my school runs electives and it’s a bit janky lol)
Raph:
Wresting team (heavyweight CHAMP)
Football (he’s only on bc his coach makes him stay; usually in the offensive lineman position)
Art, pottery specifically (Mikey made him take it and he ended up liking it more than he though he would)
Home economics (he likes the sewing)
Donnie:
Orchestra (cello)
Band (Saxophone)
Track + field
science club (robotics/STEM)
Volunteers at the school library
Mathletes club
Student Council
Mikey:
Art (he jumps between which one specifically every semester, but he likes using paints and oil pastels)
Band (trumpet)
Cooking club
Makes posters and stuff for the school when they commission him
Baseball team (batter)
Basketball team (small forward position)
Leo:
Basketball team (shooting guard position)
Football team (running back position)
Track + field
April:
Orchestra (cello)
Volleyball (manager and setter)
Softball (pitcher)
Science club (robotics/STEM)
Student Council
Volunteers at the library with Donnie
Usagi:
Volleyball team (libero)
Basketball team (Point Guard)
AP math (Japanese school is harder than school in America, and math is math everywhere, so I imagine he would be a little ahead)
Student council (don’t ask him how he got on, he doesn’t know)
Does karate (Judo) at a local dojo
I don’t know enough about Usagi’s friends to write about them rn. I’m hopefully going to draw up some comics or something for this soon! Sorry for such a long post lol

Free-climbing up the side of a high rise in downtown Manhattan might be considered an extreme sport in most other circles, but Yuichi doesn’t know anything about those circles. They sound boring.
It’s drizzling a little, and the next window ledge he reaches for is slicker than he’s expecting. The second his grip slips, a huge green hand shoots out and catches him by the wrist.
“Thanks, Raphael,” he says when he’s found a better foothold. His heart skipped with the close call, but otherwise he isn’t fazed.
“You’re gonna have to break and call Raph by a nickname sooner or later,” the eldest turtle says, playfully stern.
Yuichi busily looks down at his hands as he climbs, flustered. It makes Michelangelo laugh, ringing and bright.
“I can’t believe we used to think you were scary,” the spotted turtle says. He’s perched on Raphael’s shell like gravity is a neat concept in theory but not one he’s particularly interested in.
“Come oooon,” Leonardo’s voice calls down from the roof. “¡Vamos hermanos! Hey Cottontail, I thought rabbits were supposed to be fast!”
“Hey Stripes, I thought turtles were supposed to be quiet,” Yuichi calls back without missing a beat.
There’s an immediate chorus of “oooh”s at the burn, and Leonardo makes offended squawking noises, and Yuichi is smiling when he finally pulls himself over the parapet onto the flat rooftop.
The view from here is breathtaking. NYC at night is unlike anything else Yuichi has ever seen. The blinding lights and the rumble of traffic and the kinetic energy of millions of humans going about their night.
It’s absolutely bursting with life, and they’re sitting above it all, a part of it and apart from it.
Yuichi’s muscles are pleasantly sore from the workout and he stretches out to cool down and get his breathing back. A nudge at his side makes him glance to the left to find a mechanical arm offering him a water bottle. Donatello doesn’t acknowledge his thanks, but he also gives Yuichi an energy bar.
It’s one thing to know that the Hamato siblings are ninja in theory, and it’s another thing entirely to see it in practice. None of them have broken a sweat, not even Casey.
“Do you guys do this a lot?” Yuichi wonders aloud.
“We try to patrol once every week,” Raphael explains, then seems to catch himself. He glances at Leonardo and gets a thumbs up before he goes on, “Otherwise, Donnie has alerts set up for suspicious activity, and we go check it out if it’s our brand of weird.”
Leonardo’s family has an impressive number of adversaries, though none they really seem to take seriously. The ones they call “mutants” all have a grudging understanding with the turtles—from the tone of the stories they tell him, Yuichi secretly thinks it’s pretty likely that these grown-up yokai just don’t want to deal with a handful of teenagers any more than they have to. There’s a mantis that runs a junkyard they’re at constant odds with, but in the manner of a grumpy old man chasing annoying kids off his property. And apparently they got invitations from the hippo and the worm to save the date for their upcoming wedding.
There’s some dissension among the siblings about this, but if Yuichi is understanding the thread of the argument entirely, it’s not a matter of whether or not they’re going. It’s a matter of the gift registry, and why the hell they should subject themselves to Pottery Barn for those guys when Target is right there.
The ones that call themselves the Foot Clan are another story. They’re a hereditary enemy, and the ones responsible for the invasion in the first place. The turtles and Casey all have dark looks on their faces when the Foot comes up.
It’s nice to have people to blame for the shadow that passed over Leonardo’s light. Yuichi unwinds his yo-yo a few times, sparks flying off the reinforced string, and looks forward to meeting the Foot on the street sometime.
“I’m glad Cass got out of there,” Raphael is saying. “What’s she up to now?”
Casey answers dutifully, “She told me when we went to lunch yesterday but she swore me to secrecy. She said ‘if you know, you know.’”
“Goddammit, it’s world domination, I know it is.” Donatello puts his head in his hands, staring into the middle distance. “She beat me to it.”
“I’m good with that,” Michelangelo says blithely. “When she’s finally running the show, we can take a vacation. Tahiti, baby!”
Leonardo is sitting on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the side, with what would would be considered reckless ease for anyone outside his family. Yuichi sits next to him, because he’s exactly the kind of reckless idiot who would risk a thirty-story fall just to sit next to a cute boy.
In the back of his mind, the absolutely certain knowledge that he’s completely safe with this cute boy—this insane, amazing family—thrums like gravity, constant and steady and unspoken. It doesn’t even occur to him to be afraid of falling.
It feels like this is where he belongs.
“You know,” Leonardo says suddenly, staring up at the stars he can’t see through all the light pollution, “I keep thinking of something the General said.”
The atmosphere changes immediately. Yuichi can feel the overwhelming, undivided attention of a small ninja clan sharpening into a point. Leonardo is freer with his words now than he was two months ago, but he still generally doesn’t offer information about the Krang unless he’s pressed.
Yuichi shifts his hand across the concrete, feeling the rasp of it through his fur, until it bumps Leonardo’s.
Leonardo still doesn’t look at any of them, but some small line of tension in his shoulders bleeds away.
“Oh yeah?” Donatello asks in a tone that anyone who didn’t know him might mistake for mild.
“Yeah. He said, uh. ‘Strength always prevails.’ He said a lot of stuff, but that’s what I keep thinking about for some reason.”
Michelangelo looks like the only thing stopping him from flinging his arms around his immediate older brother is the quelling hand Raphael has on his carapace. His amber eyes are big and wide but he manages to sound halfway normal when he nudges carefully, “How come, Leon?”
“‘Cause it’s funny, isn’t it?” Leonardo says, as if anything about that day could possibly be funny. But Yuichi is watching him closely, and only sees wry good humor in his face. “If strength always prevails, and he’s gone and I’m still here, I guess that means I’m stronger than him.”
No one speaks. It seems like everyone is holding their breath. Yuichi is the one who says, “Well, yeah, Leo.”
Leonardo grins. It’s a little shaky, but it finds its footing  the longer it goes. He stands on the edge of the rooftop and throws his head back and faces the empty sky again.
The thought occurs to Yuichi, unbidden: Now I know why his brothers call him Fearless.
“I’m still here!” he screams. “I won! Fuck you! You’re gonna die alone and you’re never gonna hurt me again and I’m going to forget all about you!”
Casey laughs out loud, a harsh, relieved sound. Michelangelo slumps forward, hands pressed to his own plastron, but he’s beaming in a way that takes up half his face.
There are unselfconscious tears on Raphael’s face. Donatello’s staring at his twin’s back with vicious satisfaction, golden eyes glowing in the low light.
Someone lounging on a fire escape a few stories down, indistinguishable in the dark, lifts their beer and shouts back, “Yeah, fuck him! You’re better off, babe!”
Leonardo stumbles backwards off the parapet, laughing so hard he can’t stand upright. Yuichi reaches out to catch him, and finds himself caught up instead as this ragtag, war-torn little clan clings to each other and dissolves into hysterics together. The kind that starts from the bottom of your stomach and works its way up, scrubbing you clean. The healing kind.
Afterwards, it feels like a party. They want to celebrate this nameless thing shaped like recovery. So they go to Run of the Mill.
They’re a rowdy crowd clustered around the hostess stand, just by virtue of their personalities. There’s a table opening up in the back of the dining room big enough for all six of them.
From behind the bar, Qiao gives Yuichi a very knowing look—seeing the group he’s lumped with and Leonardo’s arm draped comfortably around his shoulders—and he has to fight not to hide behind his ears at their smug scrutiny.
Sunita and April are here already, sharing a basket of garlic knots, and they both smile warmly when they see who just walked in. Kitsune and Gen are at a booth in the corner, wearing the world’s worst attempt at disguises and peeking at the foyer over their menus.
Señor Hueso is the one who seats them, looking annoyed by all the noise but making absolutely no move to subdue them.
He lays a hand on Leonardo’s shoulder, his sunken eyes soft with fondness if you know what to look for. The skeleton yokai says something in Spanish that Yuichi has no hopes of translating. Leonardo’s cheeks darken and he responds in kind, his tone rapid-fire and flustered. Señor Hueso confirms whatever he said with a perfunctory nod and then gathers a handful of menus and leads the Hamatos toward their table, leaving his honorary nephew sputtering behind him.
(“Podrías haberlo hecho peor.”
“Espera, ¿él o yo?”
“Sí.”)
Leonardo catches Yuichi by the sleeve before he can follow. He looks agitated, shifting his weight from foot to foot, and blurts, “Can you hang back? For a sec?”
Yuichi blinks and turns to face him. This doesn’t do wonders for Leonardo’s nerves, for some reason. The striped turtle glances anywhere but at him, and then finally darts a desperate look at Casey.
Across the room, the human lifts both his hands and gives him a double thumbs up.
“Okay,” Leonardo says. “Okay,” he says again, finally daring to look at Yuichi again. That only lasts about two seconds.
“Hey,” Yuichi interjects, tilting his head to the side. Concern is a little wriggling fish in the back of his mind, but he refuses to give it room to swim unless there’s real reason. “Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
He puts out his hands, an offer. He doesn’t know if it helps or not, because Leonardo snatches them up quickly, but he only looks more miserable by the second, in a vaguely seasick kind of way.
“Are you—” His cheeks darken. He’s still studying the polished tile beneath his feet like it’s the most interesting thing for miles. “I mean—if you’re free, whenever—would you—”
Yuichi sees the moment this cobbled-together courage starts to fail him. Give Leonardo a grenade to fall on and he’ll do it in a heartbeat. He’ll hold the line at the end of the world, he thrives in the eleventh hour. But an honest conversation? Way more terrifying than any of those things.
That’s okay. Maybe Yuichi can be Fearless this time.
And he wants this to be what he wants it to be. He’s willing to risk looking like an idiot if he’s wrong.
It wouldn’t be the worst thing, really. Leonardo is his friend. There’s real love between them already, no matter what shape it may take in the future, no matter if the edges of Leonardo’s feelings don’t quite match up to Yuichi’s.
It’s like sitting on the edge of that rooftop, feet dangling over cars that looked like toys in the street. He won’t fall. Leonardo would never let him fall.
“Yes,” Yuichi says, calling on all the bravery that belongs to his name, every inch of the samurai spirit he inherited from Miyamoto himself. “I am. I would.”
Leonardo’s head snaps up, eyes like headlights. “What? Really?” The sweet expression on his face falters before it even has a chance to settle. “Wait, are we talking about the same thing?”
This idiot. Yuichi loves this idiot.
He squeezes Leonardo’s hands, a mirror of what his heart is doing. He tugs the turtle in a step closer, so there’s hardly any space left between them except for the space they need to breathe, the slim margin left open to keep holding hands.
Leonardo is staring at him, and Yuichi recognizes the look on his face. It’s the way Leonardo has always looked at him, since that first golden afternoon at Run of the Mill, but Yuichi didn’t know him well enough to read him back then. Not the way he knows him now.
And now he sees warmth in those eyes. Admiration. And powerful, precious hope.
That hope outlasted the apocalypse. It’s outlived every night terror and panic attack and strangling episode of self-doubt since. Yuichi wishes, absurdly, that he could pick it up and hold it close and carry it safely the rest of the way through the world.
He’ll have to settle for meeting Leonardo’s gaze squarely and telling him, in no uncertain terms, “I’m talking about going out with you. What are you talking about?”
“Samesies,” Leonardo breathes, and then closes his eyes, like he’s just pained himself beyond recovery. It’s ridiculous. He’s adorable. “I mean. Yes. That’s what I—that’s what—please make me stop talking.”
Finally. Yuichi leans in to do exactly that.
There’s immediate uproar from elsewhere in the room, because of course there is. Leonardo’s siblings and Yuichi’s friends waste absolutely no time making complete nuisances of themselves, hooting and catcalling and shushing each other in turns.
But the only thing that matters is Leonardo kissing him back.
It’s brief. It’s clumsy, a little self-conscious. Neither of them know what they’re doing, they’re both really nervous. It’s better than Yuichi ever could have imagined.
“Took you long enough,” Yuichi whispers. He feels light as a feather, like the slightest shift in the weather might blow him clear away. “That’s what I get for waiting on a turtle.”
Leonardo scoffs, breathless and flustered. He’s flushed all over by now, and when he rolls his eyes it’s clearly just an excuse to let his eyes dart away. Then he spots something that makes him groan.
“Oh god. Look.”
Yuichi follows his gaze to his siblings’ table, where they’re clearly straining to listen in on this conversation. Sunita and April have abandoned their bread basket to attach themselves to the ninja huddle. When Leonardo gives them away, only Raphael, Casey and the girls have the decency to bury their faces in a menu and pretend otherwise. Michelangelo and Donatello are outright staring.
“Ugh, they’re the worst,” Leonardo says. “I literally can’t imagine life without them.”
“I get that,” Yuichi replies honestly. As they watch, Gen and Kitsune slink across the dining room to join the Hamato clan, and they all begin having what looks like a very animated, very involved conversation, occasionally gesturing in Yuichi and Leonardo’s direction. That can't be good.
Sometimes retreat is the better part of valor.
“Hey,” Yuichi says, lowering his voice into a conspiratorial whisper, “you wanna get out of here?”
The cheesy line is rewarded in a heartbeat by Leonardo’s blinding smile. He clusters in a little until their foreheads bump. He loves a scheme, he loves to be in on it. They’re back on solid ground together.
“Let’s do it. Where do you wanna go? Anywhere in the whole world.”
There’s something very earnest in the question, behind the chaos gremlin energy, the giddy good humor. He’s vulnerable, laying himself out for Yuichi to see plainly.
His ninpo is such an intrinsic part of himself, the thing that houses his soul, and he’s saying, Use it. I’ll let you use it.
It’s not a hard choice. Given his pick of any destination in the world, Yuichi has his mind made up in about five seconds. He doesn’t even really have to think about it.
“I kind of want to go to Hungry Burrito and try those carne asada fries you never shut up about,” he admits.
It’s the right thing to say. Leonardo tips his head back and laughs, and it sounds exactly like the very first time Yuichi ever heard it. Before the invasion, before the months-long recovery, before the monster that tried to ruin him and every good thing about him. Back when it had no reason not to be the loudest, brightest thing in the whole room.
Spirits. God. Yuichi isn’t ever letting this boy go.
The turtle reaches over his shoulder for a sword. The spinning blue portal opens right there in the dining room, and one of Leonardo’s brothers squawks in alarm, and there’s a ruckus of upset dishes and screeching chairs behind them, but Yuichi and Leonardo are faster.
They make their escape hand in hand. The whole thing feels equal parts silly and daring. The whole night feels that way.
They put their phones on airplane mode and eat spicy loaded fries on a fire escape in Queens and sit close enough that their knees and elbows bump every other time they move. They race each other over the rain-slick rooftops and wipe out a couple of times each and almost lose their voices in the cool night air from laughing too much.
As far as first dates go, Yuichi has no notes. He wouldn’t change a thing.
It’s time to head back when Leonardo’s eyes glow white between one blink and the next, and he sighs, like someone who just got a disappointing text.
“Curfew,” he says. “Let me take you home.”
“Are you going to survive your brothers tonight?” Yuichi asks fondly.
“God, I don’t know. Pray for me.”
In the blue light of the portal, when Yuichi is standing in the middle of his bedroom, Leonardo leans through after him to press a quick, shy kiss to his cheek. Then he flails a haphazard wave and disappears.
Ugh. Ugh. Yuichi can’t with this guy.
He collapses into bed, dizzy and breathless. He’s smiling so hard he’s half-afraid it might leave a permanent impression on his face. He feels drunk. He feels perfect.
He’ll have a lot of shit to answer for when his friends inevitably show up at his house tomorrow, furious at the missed chance to embarrass him in front of his brand-new boyfriend (!!). They’ll definitely rat him out to Auntie, and the cousins will eavesdrop like the monsters they are and never give Yuichi or Leonardo a moment’s peace for being gross and in love, but that’s entirely future-Yuichi’s problem.
If he’s very lucky, it’ll be a rest-of-his-life problem.
The last thing Yuichi does before he falls asleep is reach for his phone.
Usagi: Let’s do all of it again tomorrow.
The reply rolls in immediately, every bit as if a certain someone was waiting with their phone in their hands.
Leo💙: it’s a date!!!!!

so i was thinking abt leo’s cracked shell and i had an idea i’d like to raise you
have you ever heard of kintsukuroi? aka kintsugi? aka aka the japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold?
pictures for reference
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
what if someone(mikey) reinforced leo’s shell with gold?
While I love kintsugi and what that would symbolize for the story, I couldn’t do it in good conscience.
I’ve taken jewelry classes before and I learned a lot about specific types of metal. While pure gold isn’t toxic it’s not very strong. 24 karat gold (pure gold) is only a 2.5 on the Mohs scale.
The mohs scale is how hard an object is. So how easy it is to scratch, dent, damage, ext.
Tumblr media
Anything above 2.5 in the list is stronger then 24k gold. So gold is actually really soft.
Now you can strengthen gold by adding other metals to it. But it decreases the karat value of the gold as you add other elements. So for example you can never have 24 karat rose gold because they add another metal to it to change the color. That’s another thing adding other metals changes the colors as well as the strength. But some metals are toxic to the body and it’s not good to be putting metals near open wounds.
I could see Mikey painting the scars to look like gold when Leo is insecure about them. Or Donnie adding gold plating designs to a battle shell for Leo. But I can’t put it in the shell. It would be weaker then leaving the shell on its own.
Again I love the symbolism of it. As kintsugi is used to relate broken pottery and it is seen as more beautiful after it is broken. It ties is beautifully to the idea that Leo isn’t a failure or that the Krang invasion wasn’t all his fault. He’s still a good leader and a treasured brother. More so after his disappearance.
I can also see Usagi being a part of it as he would no the practice as well. Maybe him and Mikey paint Leo’s shell. Or maybe he tells Mikey about it one day when Mikey is self conscious about his golden scars.
But in practicality of putting gold in the shell, it’s just not happening.

🖤 🎵 🧚‍♀️ 🛩⭐️?
🖤 favorite hobbies outside of your blog
I really like pottery. I’m taking another “class” starting in April through June. I say class because I didn’t think the instruction was that good in the last one and I’m treating it more like open studio for wheel throwing than any intention-based class. I’ve done give or take 10 years of clay classes from middle school age through college so really the only instruction I need is if I’m trying to make something specific and I don’t really have any goals other than enjoy making stuff with clay.
My icebreaker/fun-fact hobby is cross stitch but I’ve barely worked on my current project in months so I’m not sure it counts right now. I should get back to it but pulling it out is a bunch of steps and I haven’t felt the urge.
🎵 favorite artists
Fall Out Boy. I’m gonna see them this week. I still adore early Halsey though I haven’t listened to her much lately. Also on repeat is Matt Maeson, Hozier, and Jukebox the Ghost but idk if I’d call them my favorite.
🧚‍♀️ favorite characters of all time
Blorbo shaped characters: Tim Drake, Ranma Satome, Percy Jackson, Steve Rogers, Stitch.
There’s others but now I’m questioning if I love the characters or the property. I love Sailor Moon, but is Usagi a blorbo of all time? Idk. Some of these are comfort settings and some of them are comfort squeeze toys and it’s hard to separate the two.
✈️ favorite place you’ve traveled
Well I just got back from Nevada which was very cool. There’s a bunch of photos in the gc but idk if you’ve back scrolled. Saw two different national parks. Idk the desert was gorgeous in March but it kept making me think of when I was in Ireland spring 2017. Idk if I could call it my favorite place to visit bc I don’t think I could spend a week there but I have very strong memory of visiting Blarney Castle at like 8 in the morning on one of those bus tours and it was green and misty and perfect. Id been depressed out of my mind while in school and struggled to get myself to Cork/away from campus so just walking in felt magical. I think it’s my favorite travel experience but I’m not sure it’s my favorite place y’know. I don’t think it would be the same if I went back.
⭐️ what is one of your biggest accomplishments? Why is it so important to you?
Being done with school. I don’t think graduating really meant a lot to me in terms of accomplishments and my degree really did not set me up to actually get a job in my field but that isn’t what’s important. Being done with that section of my life. Being able to say I’m in my late 20s, I’m done with school, I have a job that pays me enough to live comfortably by myself, feels like an accomplishment. High school was not the best years of my life. Neither was college. I’m so much happier now than I was 10 years ago and that feels like an accomplishment. Maybe the accomplishment is being happy where I am now, but I know I would not be living this life if I was still in school.

I fell in love with these postcards from the Girl’s Night Out popup cafe the moment I saw them! I knew I had to get my hands on them, and the lovely @blaze-rocket was able to help that happen.
I cannot get over how perfect these postcards are. To me, this is what Sailor Moon is; a testament to the little moments from the series that made us fall in love with the characters, especially how their personal preferences were reflected in their fashion choices. In a world of merch where it’s easy to just slap a random crescent moon on something pink and say “look, it’s Usagi,” the designer responsible for these graphics went the extra mile to take imagery from the show itself that needles its way deep into our nostalgia-cortexes.
How many references do you recognise? Quiz yourself against this comprehensive (image-heavy) list! 👇
The inners’ postcards all reference the eye-catching sign for Game Center Crown, the iconic arcade where Motoki Furuhata worked and the gang would all congregate to play games and share information.
Tumblr media
Starting in R they switched to hanging out at Fruits Parlor Crown, a cafe attached to the arcade staffed by Motoki’s sister Unazuki, which the Inners’ postcards all also reference. They would often get brightly-coloured drinks there, but the drinks pictured on these postcards seem to specifically line up with the real drinks available at the Girls Night Out popup cafe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sailors Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto’s postcards all reference “Café Étrangère,” which was the name of the cafe they were seen dining at in the Sailor Moon S movie. Even the logo is replicated faithfully from a scene only a few seconds long.
Tumblr media
All the girls’ clothes are hanging on coat hangers shaped like Luna/Artemis/Diana.
Ami / Sailor Mercury’s references:
Ami’s casual outfit is an unusual choice since she only wore it a handful of times over the entire series, and half the times she wore it, it was given a different colour scheme with a green jacket instead of the yellow version pictured here.
Tumblr media
Her “mini data computer” is her most iconic tool/weapon/accessory, revealed in episode 009, directly after her introduction.
The pink package is how Usagi and the other girls wrapped up her transformation stick and communicator watch as Ami’s going-away present in episode 062.
The ice cream may be a reference to the same episode, as she shared a cone with Chibi-Usa before she left, and returned to the store to protect her friends from the Droid Nihpasu.
The flash cards are a method Ami commonly used to help her study, and are particularly similar to the ones shown in the SuperS short “Ami’s First Love”.
Tumblr media
Rei / Sailor Mars’s References:
Rei wore her casual outfit fairly frequently, starting and most notably in the beginning of the Sailor Moon R movie.
Tumblr media
The small red o-mamori charm is from Hikawa Shrine, seen frequently but introduced in episode 010.
The paper ofuda ward was used frequently by Rei to fight evil, even before she could transform, but most notably in the attack sequence for “Akuryou, Taisan” (“Foul Spirit, Begone”).
To my knowledge the purple bag isn’t a specific reference, but Rei did throw a similar purse at a Cardian as a makeshift weapon in episode 048 before she got her Guardian memories back.
The gift-wrapped shopping boxes are the exact same ones as carried by Rei in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars opening sequence before she trips and falls, right down to the patterns on the paper...
... which in itself may be a reference/callback to Rei’s tendency to make Yuuichirou carry her shopping (maybe so she doesn’t trip).
The phoenix-shaped pendant is a reference to episode 183; it’s made of glazed ceramic, crafted by Rei’s cousin Kengo Ibuki, given to her as a child after she convinced him not to smash it even though he his pottery a “failure”.
Tumblr media
Makoto / Sailor Jupiter’s References:
Makoto didn’t start wearing her casual outfit until around S, but she wore it frequently after that, especially as she became more confident wearing “feminine” clothing. They even remembered her iconic gold wrist watch worn over her sleeve!
Tumblr media
Her uniquely decorated bento bag debuted in episode 026, her introductory episode, along with the rounded green cutlery. The pouch has been featured a few more times since and its design is a mainstay in almost every Sailor Moon canon.
The teal hairtie and the rose-shaped earrings are two of Makoto’s iconic accessories, some of the only non-magical fashion accessories in the entire series to stay the same whether the character is transformed or not (the other being Minako’s infamous red bow). Her earrings also served a dual purpose as makeshift projectile weapons in episode 025.
The blue book is 月夜の天馬 (Tsukiyo no Tenma, “The Moonlit Pegasus”), a novel which was written by Tomoko Takase and introduced in epsode 134. Makoto knew Tomoko from her old middle school, before she transferred, and was the first one to read her first draft after retrieving it from bullies. She encouraged Tomoko to try and get it published. Makoto meets with her again and helps her overcome her writer’s block to finish her sequel, 天馬幻想 (Tenma Gensou, “Pegasus Fantasy”).
Tumblr media
Minako / Sailor Venus’s References:
This is one of Minako’s most-worn casual outfits, especially if you consider the additional outfits based off it. Despite its prevalence, she didn’t start wearing it until the beginning of S.
Tumblr media
Minako’s red hair ribbon is her most iconic accessory, but did you know why she started wearing it? The Codename: Sailor V prequel manga explains that she started wearing the ribbon instead of her usual red hairtie on the suggestion of her “first crush” Higashi. But when he turns out to be an enemy in disguise, she decides she looks good with a ribbon anyway, and keeps wearing it for her own benefit.
The red mask is a reference to Minako’s role as Sailor V before joining the team as Sailor Venus. Sailor V was known as a mysterious vigilante superhero and a fictional video game character as early as episode 001, but in episode 033 Minako revealed herself to the rest of the Sailor Team, dramatically removing her mask one final time.
Minako was known to be a skilled volleyball player, especially in the manga, and it was especially relevant in episode 100 where she had to delicately return the serve of an energy sphere containing the Pure Heart of her old volleyball crush, Asai.
The sign with Minako’s name can be seen hanging off the front of her bedroom door in episode 192.
Tumblr media

Usagi / Sailor Moon’s References:
Usagi wore this outfit in the Sailor Moon R movie, making it a memorable choice. Although the movie aired roughly midway through R, Usagi didn’t start to wear this outfit casually again until the S season.
Tumblr media
Usagi is shown eating a lot of food, especially sweets, but she seems to have a particular fondness for crepes, snacking on them in several different episodes.
In episode 143 we can see that Usagi is very technologically trendy - for the times. She’s carrying that blue-and-pink pager which she and Mamoru use to contact each other by way of goroawase, that is, deciphering messages based on the different pronunciations of numbers, a precursor to modern texting. Mamoru pages her the numbers 84 51, which could be read as hachi yon go ichi; reading only the first syllables, and substituting go for the related sound ko, Usagi would interpret the message as hayo koi, which sounds a bit like “come quick” - she’s late for their date. Oops!
By the way, pagers were often called “pocket bells” (pokeberu) in Japan, and became so rapidly popular they even found their way into the lyrics of Rashiku Ikimasho, the ending song for the SuperS season; 「泣きたい時には ポケベルならしてよんで、戦士の休息」 [Nakitai toki ni wa POKEBELL narashite yonde, senshi no kyuusoku] “If you feel like crying, send a page thru the Pocket Bell, take a break from [being a] Guardian”
Tumblr media
Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon’s References:
Chibi-Usa doesn’t technically have a school uniform, but her casual clothes are often styled after sailor suits as a reflection of both her idolisation of the figure of “Sailor Moon” and of her desire to be seen as older and more mature than she appears. She changes “uniforms” every season, and this pinafore outfit is the version she wears in SuperS. She wore the other outfit in the SuperS premiere episode.
Tumblr media
The handgun is from episode 060, Chibi-Usa’s introduction to the series and arguably one of the most iconic absurdist scenes in all of Sailor Moon. The gun itself is actually a toy, probably a transformation of the Luna-P sphere, which Chibi-Usa uses to try and threaten Usagi into giving her the Legendary Silver Crystal. When she “shoots” Usagi, the bullet is revealed to be nothing but a suction-cup flower, also pictured. (By the way, if you were wondering, Chibi-Usa’s fake gun is based on a real Colt M1911A1.) She transforms the Luna-P into a toy gun to shoot Sailor Moon again in the Sailor Moon R movie, this time as a way to motivate Usagi to fight.
The Luna-P sphere was a mysterious gadget Chibi-Usa kept with her for the duration of R and parts of S. It’s unknown where it came from, but it could be assumed to have been created from advanced 30th century technology. It was a combination toy and tool which could transform itself into a variety of objects, formulas, and even weapons, though none were shown to be particularly powerful. It could also be used to communicate with Sailor Pluto at the Time-Space Door. When Chibi-Usa was manipulated into becoming Wicked Lady in episode 085, the Luna-P sphere also transformed into an “evil” and much more dangerous version.
The Space-Time Key was a special tool given to her by Sailor Pluto that allowed her to travel between the past and the future, though it was difficult for her to wield effectively.
The sunhat was given to Chibi-Usa by Ikuko, so she treasured it greatly. In episode 112 it got blown away and was retrieved by Hotaru Tomoe, which allowed her to meet Chibi-Usa and marked the beginning of their close friendship.
The blue-and-red package was a gift containing two manga books (”Drop Drop” vol. 1 & 2 by Ukon Katakuri) which Chibi-Usa intended to give to her new friend Hotaru in episode 113.
In episode 127, Chibi-Usa returned home to the future, and the girls all made her some going-away gifts. Ami made her a floppy disk (lol) to help her study, Rei made her a casette tape (double lol) of her music, Makoto packed her a lunch, and Minako made her a photo album of their time together. Usagi hand-sewed Chibi-Usa the rabbit-shaped backpack using a real outfit she used to love when she was a child.
Tumblr media
Michiru / Sailor Neptune’s References:
This is a somewhat unusual choice for Michiru’s casual outfit, as she only wore it for two episodes, and that’s only because they made up a two-part story. But perhaps because the episodes were so pivotal - with Haruka and Michiru almost learning Usagi’s true identity - the outfit itself became more memorable.
Tumblr media
Not only do they include Michiru’s violin, but they included the lemon she bounced off the instrument as she played to show off her skills in episode 093.
The teacup, teaspoon and saucer are the same set Michiru was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Michiru and Haruka both reference episode 095, where they had to enter a “true love” contest as part of their investigation. The contestants were asked to find their partner’s hand in an anonymous lineup, and Haruka was able to identify Michiru’s hand immediately.
Michiru used Haruka as a model for an illustration in her green sketchbook in episode 106.
Michiru’s Talisman is the Deep Aqua Mirror, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Submarine Reflection. She could also use it to receive prophetic visions. Visually, it was based on real-life art nouveau hand mirrors, and symbolically represented the mirror from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Tumblr media
Haruka / Sailor Uranus’s References:
Conversely, Haruka wore this outfit a lot. Maybe more than she should’ve.
Tumblr media
The teacup and saucer is the same set Haruka was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Haruka’s postcard also references the lovers contest in episode 095 (see above).
The purple scarf is from episode 096; Haruka was wearing it as a necktie when she almost ran into Makoto on her motorcycle. Haruka used the scarf to bandage Makoto’s road rash, which she returned later, though now smitten.
Not only is Haruka’s motorcycle included, they also referenced (one of) her car(s), the 1968 Toyota 2000GT.
Haruka’s Talisman is the Space Sword, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Space Sword Blaster. Symbolically it represented the sword from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Tumblr media
Setsuna / Sailor Pluto’s References:
Setsuna didn’t have a school uniform, since she wasn’t a student, so she got to double-up on her casual outfits. Her mauve outfit is her most recognisable, wearing it so often it may as well have been her uniform. In fact, she was rarely seen wearing anything else until Sailor Stars, where she started experimenting with other outfits, including the Time Lord-esque suit on the right.
Tumblr media
The potted plant is a Tellun, the energy-draining plant created by Tellu in episode 121. Setsuna was investigating it when it attempted to attack her, but she was protected by her Talisman, the Garnet Orb (also pictured, representing the jewel in the Three Sacred Treasures). She then went on to destroy the remaining Tellun plants and defeat Tellu with the help of Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Tuxedo Mask.
The teacup and saucer are the same set Setsuna is seen drinking from at Cafe Etranger in the Sailor Moon S movie.
In episode 182, the girls are discussing the mysterious arrival of Chibi Chibi while eating ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Setsuna appears out of nowhere to confirm their suspicions... carrying that popsicle of her own.
Tumblr media
Hotaru / Sailor Saturn’s References:
Hotaru tended to wear the same thing, mostly all-black, but she did occasionally adventure into rich colours like this bottle green two-piece outfit and iconic raspberry beret.
Tumblr media
The sunhat belonged to Chibi-Usa; it symbolises the beginning of their friendship, when Hotaru caught it after it blew away in episode 112.
Chibi-Usa gave Hotaru the rabbit backpack in episode 116, using it to pass a note inviting her on a picnic.
Hotaru collects lamps, and the two referenced here are seen in her bedroom, which she keeps dimly lit to manage her pain.
The window might seem random, but it was random in the series, too - it’s one of the curtained window which looks out from Hotaru’s bedroom, and when a Daimon experiment goes terribly wrong in episode 118 and transforms her house into a Bamboozled-like inter-dimensional maze, one window overlooks a vast ocean while the other overlooks a strange jungle.
Hotaru’s weapon as Sailor Saturn is the Silence Glaive. It’s said that she possesses enough power to destroy the world with a single drop of her scythe.
Tumblr media
That’s it! You made it! How many references did YOU know? 🌙

Fandom Ship Tag Game
Eeeee @jinpanman! Your answers were incredible! I found myself giggling and smiling through your responses. I felt all your emotions, haha. Thanks for the tag! And hiiii!
Tumblr media
Alright, I took a whack at it!
Note: Potential spoilers for (I feel silly for writing this first one) The Lion King, You’ve Got Mail, Fleabag, Insecure, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, Gilmore Girls, Supergirl, The Mindy Project, Parks & Recreation, and The Good Place.
Tumblr media
First Ship: Simba and Nala from The Lion King
Tumblr media
Like Mai, I too came away from this animated film with some feelings to sort out. 🤣 I mean, these are straight-up bedroom eyes!
Tumblr media
I really loved this sort of Disney introduction to friends-to-lovers haha. Their whole dynamic was just so fun! But I think it might’ve also helped me see more layers to love. I was only 4 when it came out, but my aunt told me that when we, as was our tradition, walked out of the theater and over to the Burger King to get post-movie Big Kids Meals (because I was a big kid), I surprised her with a response to a question. When she asked me if I was sad when Simba ran away, I said no, because Scar would’ve killed him and been the king instead. Then I wondered if Nala might not have loved Simba if he hadn’t run away, and if princesses always have to marry princes. So, this was the birth of angst.
First OTP: Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox from You’ve Got Mail
Tumblr media
Looking back now as a woman, I see that the relationship isn’t exactly the healthiest? Growing up in arguably the first truly media-heavy culture, I was inundated with the concept of a “perfect body”. So, in a fluffier, romantic world, and in my younger, impressionable mind, I found wonder in the idea of someone falling for you through your words. (Plus, they were just so darn smart, witty, and funny, and it made me a lifelong fan of Nora Ephron’s work!)
Your Ship Since the First Minute: Fleabag and Hot Priest from Fleabag
Tumblr media
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is indescribable. Fleabag is everything. You know how I like to carry on. But I cannot express to you how much I learned and felt when I watched this show. Truly. I’m usually a straggler on trends, so if you still haven’t seen it, go watch it now.
Ship(s) You Wish Had Become Endgame: Molly and Andrew / “Asian Bae” from Insecure
Tumblr media
I love Insecure so goddamn much it’s insane. It’s the show of my 30s. Of being in your 30s right now. Issa’s voice has been so curious, but kind. Expressive, but reflective. And generous. Molly’s whole arc with expectations about love has been eye-opening, and her character development is superb. Molly and Andrew in particular explored current themes in modern relationships, as well as what a relationship truly is at its core. What you have to give it. How much you have to give. And in some ways, how little. Technically, the show isn’t over yet, but so we don’t know if they’re not endgame, but also, we kind of do, don’t we?
Ship You Wish Was Canon: Harry and Hermione from Harry Potter
Tumblr media
I mean, I wrote a fanfic about it, lol. I thought they just made sense, and I like love that just makes sense. Love that fits. After seeing what they went through, I liked the idea of them not starting out on this path, but love growing from those shared experiences.
Ship that Most of the Fandom Hates but You Love: MamoRei from Sailor Moon; Rory and Logan from Gilmore Girls
Tumblr media
Wow, this picture, amirite?! 🤣 Obviously Usagi and Mamoru are OTP, but I remember being a little kid and getting so excited to see this dynamic! It was over so soon, rightfully so, but I was left wanting!
With Rory and Logan, I think it’s just about recognizing each other, and really seeing each other. Logan is Jess, contrarian and disillusioned with his past and environment, yet very happy to stay rooted in it. He’s just in a different environment. I think I liked that Logan understood that part of Rory’s life. And I liked how their relationship felt like an adventure. Kind of Rory’s true storybook romance. C’mon. “Ace”? 💔
Tumblr media
You Don’t Even Watch the Show, but you Ship It: Supercorp
Tumblr media
I literally know nothing, but every time I’d see them pop up somewhere, like on my old tumblr dash or in a commercial, I’d see the shippers, and I’d just feel so warm-hearted!
Ship You Wish Had a Different Storyline: Mindy and Danny from The Mindy Project
Tumblr media
Mindy Kaling brought so many things together for me. She helped me own my own identity. I really loved The Mindy Project. Not really a critique of their time apart, as the character development felt necessary and true to life --- I just love seeing them together, so I’ll always be greedy for more time with them! Also, I just loved the ending song choice. The Chromatics cover of “I’m on Fire”. I can’t tell you how obsessed I was with the original, and I like that Mindy said that she chose that cover because “it was a version of the song they could both get behind”. That detail. Amazing.
Favorite Ship that is Endgame: Leslie and Ben from Parks and Recreation; Chidi and Eleanor from The Good Place
Tumblr media
You know what’s interesting? Mike Schur is overwhelmingly responsible for my current take on healthy, happy love. The relationships he builds are so joyous, even in the face of complication or tragedy. Ben and Leslie show how you can be giving of yourself without sacrificing yourself. They display mutual, unconditional support. They already have so much in common, and they still enjoy each others’ “odd” quirks so much that they actively participate in them as well. Strong, unbreakable, unconditional love.
Then you take it out of Pawnee, Indianan and extrapolate that over stretches of vast, incomprehensible time and space? Chidi and Eleanor are essentially that hypothesis of joyous love being tested in simulation after simulation and holding strong. What I so valued from their expression of true, soulful connection, was the examination of when that is over, not because it ended, but because you truly realize you’re becoming something bigger than just the two of you, and that you simply are, as all things are. I still tear up when I think about the finale because it takes such a scary, awful, terrifying thing and somehow brings joy into that, too. Watch The Good Place if you haven’t already. If this hasn’t convinced you, then I’ll say that there’s a reason Namjoon admired it so much.

Naruto OCS???? Do tell us about them
oh now youve got me started!
i made a post about their history (very general) in this post so ill talk more about their personalities and things that stand out about them cuz i love them
so the tldr is that they’re an off shoot of the uchiha clan from the first great ninja war when yokumo fucked straight off from konoha due to 75% paranoia that turned to 99% paranoia when he left but cant go back now! hed be a rogue nin! so he settles down in the land of grass with Asaro the most best girl character ive ever made. She’s a tailor/seamstress/weaver in this tiny village and she just radiates chill, shes been your mom friend since grade 2 and will continue to be your mom friend until death
yokumo is Stressed and Strict because my dude has the sharingan so when they have three kids (not at the same time hot damn) he decides like any good parent to just refuse to let them use their eye powers at all (note: this is probably not a good parenting tecnique)
tenjo is the oldest daughter and she idolizes her dad so fucking much dude and shes fighty, boy pulls her hair and gets an ass whopping , shes the queen of the village kids but with different leading skills than her mom. she legit saw yokumo use jutsu ONCE and went “oh hell yeah time to be ninja”
yokumo said no
jiyuro is the middle kid and he just vibes dude, hes a normal easy going kid that reaps the reward of being the sibling of the queen of kids, hes also the kind of bastard that can and will use his sharingan to cheat in exams, something he can only pull of thanks to the babiest brother 30 under 30 ninja luminary chiban who cant use the sharingan but damn is that boy neck deep in genjutsu training
chiban put like all his dnd leveling towards genjutsu and some taijutsu so he wouldnt mcfucking die in the middle of a fight in the event that his genjutsu fails. his illusions are amazing tho and real specialised, he can make you believe that those eyes? those red eyes with weird dots in em? yeah totally normal, you didnt see shit. the same with cuts and bruises, dude specialices in detailed genjutsu instead of haha you got caught in a plant or some of the other ridiculus shit naruto characters do
now tenjo gets married not once, not thrice but two times, first time to your local imported bitch boy hatsunaio ha’ame whos playing the longest con in existance aka he “falls in love” with tenjo and gets married, has a kid, all so he can confirm that the clan has the sharingan to report back to konoha cuz that aint right, sharingan outside of konoha and even more sharingan outside a hidden village
fear not tought! imported asshoe gets killed by tenjo with the sweet loot of the mangekyou sharingan and Trauma!
her second marrage is 4-5 years later with drinker of respecting woman juice Tsumashin Aishika who had been a family friend since a bit after ha’ame got what was coming to him. Aishika is super patient and just Kind Man, if only he was stupid and buff he would be a himbo but he’s average and kinda smart so Good Dad will have to do. He likes to read and is a wood worker.
Tenjos kids are a fucking story too, btw hope you wanted a long long post cuz youve really gotten me started now
Renge, the kid she had with Ha’ame, is the oldest and she doesnt remember her dad at all, shes been called a clone of her mom with the fightyness and the “wow cool! need to learn that!” reaction to jutsu. Shes impulsive if shes on her own and the worlds biggest glass canon in a fight because she has trash chakra stores and the impatience to skip on learning to distrobute it properly, she also has the vibration style kekkei genkai (lightning + wind) which just eats up her chakra
first kid with Aishika is Hotoki whos like her mom but EXTREME, shes the naruto of the kadzuki fam, impatient, a brat and ready to throw down instantly, shes stubborn as fuck and she wants to be the Tsukikage, a position that doesnt exist for a village that doesnt exist in a land that already has a hidden village. her family is supportive tho
last kid is Makuto whos one of only three kids in this clan thats youngler than naruto. his life starts of great by killing his mom with complications during birth giving him absolutly no problems down the road, nope, haha. Hes pretty reserved and likes his grandmas craft better than his grand dads so he takes up tailoring and later pottery, hes a fast learner 100% because of the sharingan
then we have jiyuros wife Pantama Hoshi, shes friend shaped and radiates chill like asaro. they met while team one (aka tenjo, jiyuro and chiban) was out at another town for a mission. shes a gardener and grows medicinal herbs along with real good flowers. theyre by far the most calm parents in the family and basically became foster parents for Tenjos kids once she died so yes, they have two dads. Hoshi can and will support you in anything thats not plain out stupid
Jiyuros first kid is Nishi whos good and cautious, shes the single kid in the budding team 2 that thinks things through properly before doing something, but too much, shes a pesemist, and probably has anxiety, on the upside all of the plans shes involved with goes without a hitch because she provides endless “what if bad thing happens” scenarios, in the downside plans take so much longer because of said what ifs, she specialises in sealing and summoning but really really wants to be a medical ninja because you see what if someone gets hirt! what if renge becomes dumb bitch during a mission and gets hurt because shes a glass canon
the second kid is Takuhi whos the mediating voice of reason that pushes Renge to listen to what ifs and makes Nishi remember that sometimes improv is whats needed during a mission, hes on the cautious until proover otherwise side. He hangs out with Yokumo a lot and is slowly inhereting his paranoia and or world waryness
TIME FOR MY FAVE BRANCH
Chibans family is amazing because i love them, his wife Yamatora Seiho, usually called by her last name, is an ex shinobi from the land of grass (she freaked Tenjo out a bunch after the Ha’ame bullshit went down) thats just so fucking done with the kage and government so she went to do that good good farming cottage core life but shes really not suited for it. shes ready to throw the fuck down at any time but shes also kind to her kids and real serious
she also had a previous marrage that ended in good ol murder (not her killing her husband for once in this clans history) but basically she took her at the time 5 y/o son Usagi with her and Chiban said fuck it join the family instantly
Usagi feels so fucking left out tho cuz he wants to be included in the playing the other kids do but he cant manage to care about that whole ninja thing plus he doesnt have eye powers and just why bother, so instead he goes to Asaro and asks her to be his teacher, he also becomes a barber in the town because my god did Jiyuro really just almost cut his sons ear off???
THEN THE TWINS!!
Hikame and Yorukoi are twin girls and the other two that’re younger than naruto in the clan, theyre 9 when hes 12. They spend their time usually together or with Hotoki and Makoto since Usagi is 13 years older than them and Renge, Nishi and Takuhi are team 2 on missions a lot. Yorukoi really loves animals and looks up to Nishi because holy shit mom she can summon animals with only a lil blood holy fuck meanwhile Hikame likes art and drawing the aimals Yurokoi comes sprinting home to tell everyone she found
The twins and Hotoki will make up Team 3 just as soon as Yokumo lets them because oops a few years ago the whole konoha branch of the uchiha got fucking annihilated and we might be next.com
