There's been a phenomenon in the last few years where certain shows botch the ending of their show so badly that either that becomes their legacy (HIMYM) or their cultural footprint is almost entirely wiped out immediately after (Game of Thrones).

At least I can rest easy knowing that whenever Doctor Who finishes this run (though we all know it will return eventually), it would be almost impossible to fuck up so badly that it erases itself. I feel better knowing that Doctor Who would survive shooting itself in the foot.
