Equal Lady & Ganondorf, maybe something happened to force them to separate for a while...

But when they remeet, it's basically the Stoick & Valka scene from HTTYD2.

Just, ELady all worried that he's angry at her & understanding why he would be, but all he has to say is, "You're as beautiful as the day I lost you." With this expression of having found that piece of himself that he'd lost.

Followed by that hesitant little whistle, then the whispered hopeful words...

He hesitates, heart cracking as that little ember of hope inside him begins to flicker... Until she turns to him, finishing the verse... & continuing the song. And that ember burned bright again.

They're together again. For the Dancing & the Dreaming. ���💖💖

We're alive! Somehow!

And we found Valka Castle! Apparently an old well in the ruined village had a passageway into the castle. We found it by complete accident trying to escape from being fish food for this (photo taken from the safety of the castle):

I'm headed to the library to see what the hell is up with this Sharpedo. Apparently it's something of a local legend, given what GG and Oceana were saying. All I know is it shrugged off the Pulsar like it was nothing.

Nobility really knew how to make a place look grand, the chandeliers in the ballroom were gorgeous! Probably looked even better lit up and before 200 years of seawater took their toll.

what if their reunion is a bit more like stoic and valka still with angst but a bit happier

Although very sweet, I've never thought their reunion would be so heartfelt (except perhaps if Callum and Rayla had been separated for 20 years and even then). I think at most Callum will be relieved to see her, they'll exchange like 3 sentences, and then he'll immediately be pissed because she left him and now she's come crawling back, unharmed. If you want more thoughts about why / what I think their reunion may be like you can check out this post.

Before I thought they might reconcile quicker, but the more I think about it and what we know of Callum's character, presumptive Aaravos-Callum connection promo art, as well as season structure...

TDP is all about highlighting growth in big ways. It's one of the reasons why despite having only 27 episodes, it feels like by the end of S2 all the characters were radically different people than they were at the start of S1, and even more different from the start of S3 to the end of S3.

So for the beginning of S4 we have Callum, passive, staying back at the castle, somewhat denying his feelings for Rayla, unable to say them out loud, trying to distract himself, to resign himself to the fact she'll never come back yet also desperately wanting to see her again because like, he still loves her.

Then we have him being angry at her, expressing at least some of his hurt. Still, probably denying his feelings and some of what's laying at the heart of his anger: that she scared him, that he worried, that he wanted / wants to help her, to keep her safe. The pain of losing her for two years.

And this is, actually, the best grounds for something like Cube Hostage Exchange Theory to take hold. After a season of being stubborn and also slowly rekindling what they had (because it's Rayla, and she's his best friend, and they're always going to care about each other even when one or both of them is trying not to), Callum is separated from / loses her. Again. Something in him snaps.

Therefore, his character arc would take him from:

Sitting passively at home -> actively going after her this time

Stewing in his anger -> "It doesn't matter what you did before, I just want you to be okay again" and releasing the bulk / all of it

A reunion where he's mostly unhappy to see her -> a second reunion where he's so incredibly happy / relieved to see her (if also worried)

Denying / not saying his feelings out loud -> wearing his heart on his sleeve and stating it out loud to everyone / anyone / to her

Denying himself / his love / half truths -> Reconnecting with himself, his love, and his full truth (and possibly the Moon arcanum?)

And it would work beautifully, I think.

So the main ship would be hiccstrid and while hiccup isn’t a “beast” per say the difference is,

“the chief had made a horrible mistake. He had tried to cut down a light fury. She was freyja in disguise and cursed all the riders (except Astrid and snot loud tbe later) as kids to be trapped in a castle (where they befriended dragons) until someone could learn to love a dragon AND the chief’s son genuinely…” (not the light fury trying to get hiccup a date lol)

snotlout is the best friend and only friend of Astrid and he likes hearing her tell him stories and they protect each other like siblings! Especially against Eret son of Eret, the self proclaimed “promised child” of berk. Man picked up a sidekick (Gustav) and is trying to get Astrid to marry him lmao

also the relationship between heather and David would be brother and sister, not mother and son.

the second ship would be a bit of a slow burn rufflout that comes to fruition by the song “evermore” or “tale as old as time”

the village plot is to “kill the beasts” they’re after all the dragons in the castle but mainly Hookfang and toothless because of their species…

I chose cogsworth for fish legs for obvious reasons, being very smart and mistrusting of Astrid and her nature at first but eventually warming up to her.

and tiff it as Chadwick…. I mean COME ON! Man is dramatic as shit! Also the whole “be our guest song with him singing it is just… *chef kiss* (ha I’m funny)

oh and valka is kinda x-x

but hey! She can still talk to him! Through a life sized mirror!

I’m also thinking about giving Eref a last minute redemption arc at the very end… when a certain rumblehorn saves his life…

so anyway… that’s my idea lmao

also my boy eret being a bit of a cocky bastard with gustav running around behind him is so funny to me (I hope u go with the idea of a redemption arc cos he really would need it lol)

this has a lot of interesting ideas to play around with especially for all the character dynamics (ahhhhhh I cant wait for the dynamics (can you tell))

funny dream story let's go.

so it's a recurring one, and it's HTTYD adjacent and this one had new stuff. but originally it started out like a jailbreak and it was almost like hide and seek where we had to input a password before we were caught on a keypad above a door, and it was always 3 letters, but eventually they caught up and i hit behind a couch. then i was hiding in a lover's closet covered completely in blankets and laundry but when they started throwing them down the chute the guards who were chasing us earlier didn't care, and then we laid down and talked for a bit. then we were in a gift shop of sorts but with bags and shit and that's when HTTYD kicked in. and it switched between me being Astrid or being someone else. but valka told us to look at the solid lava flow after a massive fight in a castle thing where i had to red dead redemption style revive my horse, and sapphire, who was somehow riding with me, disappeared, and then it switched so the horse was toothless and the person was hiccup and i was someone else. but a lava alpha dragon burst from the lava and toothless assumed it was a threat and then there was a flood but the alpha was really only protecting the eggs so i grabbed a big bag and then googles but some kid was stuck in the water so i rescued him when a big wave barrel rolled us but broke over our heads, and then i got stuck with his sister being pushed into a fence before we boarded onto the alphas back and went to a restaurant type deal through teleportation or something, only now it was my family and not HTTYD or SU or anything. we talked about getting disinfected briefly, and then we were in a dog pound and me and my grandpa were looking through a booklet like they have for custom cakes in a sam's club or something, and we picked a dog that looked like if a wurmple was a dog, and then the dream ended.

TLDR; recurring trauma induced dream had me hiding while being chased, found and ignored, trying to be protective and failing, saving others before myself, and adopting a dog, all with body swaps and my lesbian awakening included
