“Are there any more pumpkin cookies left?” Leon asks faintly from his spot on Piers’ lap, long legs stretched out over the couch under a soft knitted blanket that had been part of Claire and Jill’s autumn gift basket, delivered to their doorstep a few days ago. Pier’s can feel him shivering, weak and sick as he is from being unable to keep anything down for almost twenty-four hours, now. He’s been complaining of nasty stomach cramps, a swollen feeling that Piers worries could be appendicitis, despite how adamantly Leon insists it’s not.

“Will you let that go, already? Those aren’t easy on your stomach,” Piers mutters, glancing over to check the time on his watch. “Why don’t you try some soup, instead?”

Leon makes a face.

“Claire said they’d go bad by the end of the week, and I want to enjoy them before then. Besides, they’re good, and I feel better.” He’s whining a bit, stubbornly trying to weasel himself out of eating healthy for what feels like the hundredth time today, and Piers sighs.

“You say that every time, and then what happens? Just let your stomach settle, first, and you can eat as many as you want when you’re not sick. I still think we should go to the walk-in clinic.”

Leon makes a face at that, pushing himself into an upright position.

“No. I don’t feel like being poked and prodded and… injected, today.” He shudders, and Piers fights down a wave of irritation. He understands Leon’s dislike for doctors; really, he does, but he’s starting to get worried, and Leon refuses to even consider getting looked at. He watches carefully as Leon rises shakily to his feet, stretching with a yawn. “I am hungry, though.”

He saunters off towards the kitchen, the clatter of the cookie jar almost immediately rattling around the house. Piers does his best not to seethe. Why the hell is he in love with such a pigheaded man? He knows he’s not exactly the easiest to bargain with, but Jesus. He stands after a long minute, scowling.

“Leon,” he calls as he rounds the corner, not bothering to hide his exasperation. “I swear to God, if you’re digging through the cookies again, I’ll—”

He stops short, met by the sight of Leon, collapsed and heaving for air on the kitchen floor. He’s pale, leaned up against the cabinets as he struggles for breath, and Piers throws himself to his knees in an instant.

“Leon?” he asks urgently, meeting wild blue eyes with his own panicked gaze. “Leon, what’s wrong?” God, has his appendix burst? Does Piers need to call and ambulance? Leon shakes his head, half-eaten pumpkin cookie still in hand.

“C-can’t breathe,” he wheezes, raising a trembling hand to sweep through his hair, and its then that Piers notices the raised, red rash creeping across the underside of his wrist. He eyes the cookie, noticing the tiny flecks of spices and sugar decorating its pretty orange surface, suddenly recalling the recipe that had been pinned to the gift wrap. Sugar, pumpkin, butter and eggs; vanilla, baking soda, and spices. Cinnamon, cloves…

“Leon,” Piers asks calmly, gently pressing his fingers to Leon’s thundering radial pulse. “How often do you eat nutmeg?”

“I–I don’t know,” Leon manages, eyes widening even further. His eyelids are puffy, something Piers had attributed to lack of sleep, and he knows with certainty that he’s right. Leon groans, letting himself slump against the cabinets. “Don’t tell me I’m—”

“We’re going to the hospital,” Piers announces, shaking his head. “I’m not playing around with anaphylaxis.”

Leon eyes the cookie mournfully.

“You don’t suppose I could finish this, first?”

Piers feels his eye twitch.

“No.”

“Sophie?” Marella startled, “why are you awake?” Sophie could ask the same, but when she opened her mouth, only an ugly choked noise exited.

Marella seemed to understand perfectly. Not dropping the bit of softly glowing fire in her hand, the pyrokinetic moved to Sophie’s side. “Do you need anything?” She asked softly, and Sophie, in response, began talking.

“I’m just so scared! Everybody is counting on me to make things right and be their moonlark and I don’t think I can do it. People need me and I’m failing them.”

“shhh, Soph.” Marella whispered, trying the nickname on her lips. “No one expects you to fix the whole world in a day. And certainly not alone.”

personally, i prefer the older designs, the newer ones are cute but I feel like they lose the entire idea of his character in them.

the larger brows and more human and comical they make him the more they lose of his entire person. He is a wild animal not a cute pet. He is not an animal sidekick but is just as much a main character as Hiccup which can be lost later on in the series. There is no reason for him to have bigger brows or comical expressions because no wild animal would need them, it makes no sense for him. He is literally a wild animal that is friends with a human. There was so much thought put into his design and its a bit of a waste to not honor that

sorry if im ranting its just a bit sad to see a wholly rounded character reduced to a cute pet for marketable purposes

Lily spent the majority of her school years being friends with a kid who invented deadly spells for fun in his free time, then ended up getting together with his bully, who also publicly tried to blackmail her into dating him once.

Girl is no Hermione Granger - Lily has a severe case of "I can fix him", she's attracted to toxicity.

Knowing she was close neighbors with Severus, who grew up in a very poor area + considering the nature of the relationship with her sister and the kind of man Petunia chose for a husband, I would say that it's not a stretch to assume that she comes from a lower-class background herself, most likely with a very bad father figure (which also explains the soft spot she obviously has for Severus and later on Sirius).

(I actually think the worst is Sirius and/or Remus, but i feel like that's already been talked about enough)

I am genuinely baffled every single time by how the Marauders fandom managed to turn him into sunshine, golden retriever, Mr. Nice Guy, when he is quite literally the very opposite of that in canon.

Maybe it's because my HP origins as a reader are Dramione, which was always very Snapedom-favouring, but it's always been clear to me that the MWPP are all portrayed as very morally grey (some more than others).

James' "goodness" does not come from a place of rejection of the bad, like Sirius, rather he is born into that, and he simply does not question what he knows. His morality is very black and white, leaving no space for anyone else. He sees no issue in abusing his power, which he has plenty of already at a young age.

I think that whether you're writing James with Lily, Sirius, Regulus or Severus, any ship's dynamic is so much more interesting if you lean into those parts of his character.

I ended up having so many ships that I split it into three different charts LOL

dr 1 2 and v3 ships below! i did not bother with udg or the dr3 anime but just know that i care quite little for any ships in those latter two titles

starting off with DR1 - I hold naegiri (& their respective ships with ikusaba + poly) in highest regard personally, and if i had to choose a least favorite pairing it'd be togami/naegi. just. doesn't pass my personal vibe check lol

i don't talk about it a lot but i am compelled by kirigiri/junko and naegi/junko, but only in very specific ways... the rival dynamic with kyouko and especially the dynamic with naegi as enemies who hold a certain level of fear or unease for the other. nobody ever really writes this dynamic though, so i have to content myself with my own imagination...

moving onto dr2...

this one is interesting because i just... cannot bring myself to ship most of the cast with anyone. i just don't see it. forget making sense, almost none of it compels me. i didn't even bother listing more common het pairings (think akane/nidai) bc it just doesn't even register to me. those two are beards at best.

probably the most interesting ones to note here are kuzu/hina (compels me bc of their FTEs) and komanami (which i love a lot in a qpr way, placed in "doesn't make sense" based off my perception that neither of them view each other in a romantic or sexual way, they just... are both Kinda Weird.

and finally v3! i find this cast most shippable personally... big fan of ou/mota in particular (or anything in the ou-sai-mota triangle). i like tenko/angie way more than tenko/himiko... personally don't like sai/matsu.

i'm not a fan of pregame in general. hoshi and kirumi don't even show up once on this list bc i just... don't really ship anything that strongly with them? oof

i read amami as sex and romance repulsed aroace and you can't change my mind, any ships with him are just a massive squick to me LOL

tsumugi/anyone is mostly a joke, but i am very compelled by messed up complicated (platonic, but if i'm in the mood for Very messed up stuff romantic works too) relationships involving her and others-- especially the ch 1 and ch 6 folks!

and finally: my most special ship hot take is that people largely ship ou//.meno because she's the only girl in the cast who's shorter than him, and even without them having any actual meaningful interactions outside of ouma occasionally being snide or rude to her, Girl Shorter Than Boy is enough for some people /shrug

The thing is does Belly really love him? The book tries to tell us that she does but then why did she gets jealous of Taylor during chicken? I have a feeling she had feelings for Jeremiah but didn't realize them because she thought she loved the idealized version of Conrad in her head but the reality is he was never that.

Hmmm, the show does too good of a job at keeping Belly’s feelings for Jeremiah a mystery.

Belly has a lot of "I can fix him energy" coupled with her being interested in chasing after guys who aren't available rn/resisting + her insecurity. I feel s2 Jere being so standoffish & sad (lowkey the traits we saw in Conrad in s1 👀) and maintaining his ground in not giving in, lowkey might have made him more attractive and pursue-able in her eyes for that reason. I think Belly being like this as a teenager makes sense and is valid but I want to see growth. I personally want to think that it wasn't just out of guilt and her saviour syndrome + feelings that she asked Jere for a second chance. Like she definitely had all those things going on too but I'm a believer in bellyjere being in love with each other so I would like to imagine that she's truly in love (at least that's how it is in my head lol).

I'm definitely a big fan of the belief that love creeps up on you slowly and I'm 100% of the headcanon that that's what happened with bellyjere. Like they were always soulmates and in love, and just needed some triggers and experiences to realise that and they just seem to fall deeper with every passing day. And the fact that the books call jelly as inevitable is 💖.

And personally I feel that being chosen everyday by a person is definitely superior coz like feelings and emotions are fleeting and ever changing and like not the best foundation alone for a relationship. Like you need more than that. Bonrad is just not a healthy relationship and feelings alone can't save it.

Remember that the dragons that attacked the Berk were under the Red Death control on the Dragon Island? This means that Cloudjumper was one of that pack and he never showed up again after Valka was kidnapped. This makes me to believe that he and Valka successfully escaped the Red Death, found the Bewilderbeast nest, and fought the dragon hunters.

They could make a separate animated series about Valka and I like it, she's a very interesting character.

What do you think about her?

ohhhhh ok that is quite a cool idea, now that I think about it, cloud jumper wasn't aggressive towards anyone when we first see him so maybe he was never under the influence of the red death? I think a series would be so good for valka, we could see other characters she would have come across!! there are not enough series with older women as the protagonists so this would be something lovely too see. i also wanna see more of the other dragons and their personalities. I'm legit coming up with so many hcs of how the red death's abilities work rn wanna hear about them????
