From Value Streams to Team Streams: Designing for Flow
Designing for flow is the cornerstone of modern digital delivery—but many organizations are still stuck optimizing for output instead of outcomes. Features are delivered, tickets are closed, yet customer impact remains unclear. Why? Because the way work flows through teams is just as important as what gets done. To unlock real performance, we must rethink how value flows—through people, teams,…

I love the jacob egg video but also wanna remind everyone that hes not necessarily like .. closeted or anything or like an actual egg. I feel like hes been pretty open with his gender feelings on sss streams and we respect and believe every word he says! Sometimes a guy isnt exactly nonbinary but his gender doesnt fit within the binary. And we love that.

Wondering if people realize that “Solas is a liar” is not like. A definitive statement on everything he says.
Solas is, first and foremost, an unreliable narrator. It’s not that what he says is ALWAYS a complete falsehood- it’s that he spins the truth in a way that best suits his perspective, whether he realizes it or not.
He believes, with his full chest, that bringing down the Veil and destroying the world is what is best for the world and will fix his mistakes. This does not make it objectively true. But it is true to him.
His takes on the Veil and spirits and elves and magic are often factually true! But he uses those facts in manipulative ways to suit his ends. And it is difficult to tell when he is conveying an objective fact and when he is telling you His View on it.
This is what makes him so fascinating as a character and an antagonist! And this is why Veilguard is such a fascinating piece of fiction. In a way, they should have left the title of Dreadwolf so people understood that the ENTIRE game is actually about Solas- all of the companion narratives are aspects of his story. Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain exist as a mirror to him. Rook is a foil for him. The game is asking you questions about Solas’s thinking, his choices and mistakes via every part of it, culminating in the realization that Rook can face their mistakes and move on from them, rather than being possessed by them and making a continual sequence of bad choices in an attempt to alleviate guilt.
Solas is a fascinating antagonist, a sympathetic character, a walking contradiction- a rebel leader who did not want to be revered but still very much utilized the power the role gave him. I fully believe he does in fact want to be a god, he just thinks of Elgar’nan as his model of a god and says “I will not be that.”
And he won’t become Elgar’nan. He won’t Blight the world for his own glory and power. But he will destroy it for his own absolution. And THAT is why he’s the ultimate antagonist of Veilguard.

the fact that bobby nash got one of the worst deaths imaginable really doesn’t sit right with me. after all that they decided to give one of the most beloved characters on the show an exit that was traumatic for literally every single character, one where he couldn’t say a proper goodbye, one where he experienced pure agony right until the end. he couldn’t say goodbye to his kids or the rest of the 118. he was afforded no physical comfort in the end. he died as a sacrificial lamb for his past mistakes which so often happens to characters with significant trauma in media (which i hate). when he told athena ‘this isn’t how i wanted to leave you’ i feel like that about summed it up. absolutely no dignity in his death besides saving chimney but even that is a decision that comes with fucked up consequences for chim himself which i feel like going forward is going to invalidate that sacrifice narratively.

I'd assume you'd be into the Yugioh Abridged series but there's a lot of references to the dub and you don't really care for the dub so... *shrug*
I am into the songs but I once tried watching the actual series and only got like two episodes in. Might pick it up one day tho

I'm still not well so this isn't going to be articulate, but I wanted to say something anyway.
In the wake of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (amongst other titles) being purged from streaming I've seen countless posts saying "This is terrible, we need to stop this practice -- they might purge a good show next!" and yeah, for sure a lot of titles being impacted by streaming purges/lack of physical media/a decline in archiving right now aren't going to be remembered for changing the world.
However, I think it is vital that we fight to preserve these titles for their own sake not just because "What if next time it's something we actually like?!" There is value is preserving things widely regarded as "bad" not just because I have firm beliefs about the absurdity of taste, but because who gives a shit if something is deemed "good?" Actual human people put their time and energy into realising these artistic visions. Even if the results are arguably not "good" or "popular", should the efforts of these artists be lost to the sands of time? No, no they fucking shouldn't.
I share a lot of art on this blog from titles very few people consider culturally important or valuabe. However, I don't look at the things I collect & share like that. Even some of the most objectively absurd titles I own are still pieces of art that were developed, published, and consumed by humans in the real world. Whether they've turned out to be broadly memorable or not is irrelevant because they existed and that in itself makes them worthy of preservation so that others can choose to familiarise themselves with them long after the original creative team is gone.
So yes, we should all be trying to preserve the media that's important to us and not let corporations try to stamp out every trace of a financial (though not necessarily artistic) misstep. However, it shouldn't take the threat of something we, personally, like being taken away to stir us into giving a shit.
Even the demise of less admired works should concern us and make us start to burn copies of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies because it might not mean anything to you or I right now, but to some kid in 20 years it could be a seminal experience that leads them to follow their dreams. Or it could become a cult classic that people reflect on at watch parties years in the future. Or it could continue to be a footnote in the history of television that nobody really cares about.
Ultimately I don't think it matters what level of value we arbitrarily assign to media now or in the future, we should be trying to preserve as much of it as possible so that generations from now people can enjoy the option of engaging with these titles should they so wish.

Card game mechanic idea: You only play 1 card per turn, but (most) cards have slots to add "bonus cards", and (most) cards have a "bonus effect" that applies when they're used as a bonus card. Like, a card that has a healing effect could have a weaker heal as its bonus effect, a card that deals damage might have a bonus that increases the damage dealt by the main card.
This gives a way to diversify cards without needing a resource system. Power can be scaled by having different numbers of slots; you can make weaker cards that have 3 slots, or strong ones that have 0.
There's also variety to be had in the bonus effects; two cards can have the same main effect but different bonus effects. If a card's main effect is kinda strong, it can be balanced by having a weak or nonexistent bonus effect. The strength of bonus effects can also be varied by requiring a different number of slots.

so. today's stream. did you see it?
yessir! and i liked that one very very much. chapter 5 as a whole is chock-full of react-able moments, even moreso after the motive starts. it was super fun to see their reactions to, gestures vaguely, everything.
some fun moments i noted down before we get more serious:
a comment in the chat during wada's interrogation: "mom and dad are fighting again (Shigeki is mom, Mai is dad)" all of these, during [defense game] i think, "please tamba, don't do something stupid…which is like asking tamba to not do anything" "this isn't the stupid olympics" and something something "ohh the slash is not so bad as these other things" i was like yeaah, you'll see! first drunk ojima ep, bubbles talking about what's currently ailing everyone: "and mai has back problems cause she's been carrying the entire group!" and. ngl. not gonna repeat it but, that one off-colour joke bubbles made about hayashigeki in the cage game made me HOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLLLLL!!! not exactly a fun moment, but i liked how moved TA was by hearing sasaki's voice again. "we interrupt this wild goose chase for a student spotlight!" "yknow what. YKNOW WHAT. YKNOW WHAT! you two are EXACTLY THE SAME!!"- TA about tamba and hiroaki arguing in [loyalty game], that was some great delivery.
there were a LOT of fun and exciting moments. but my absolutely favourite part of the stream, hands down, was during mai's spotlight, when they talked about what they miss about the dead students alongside her. it was super touching, and it made me reminisce about them as well...even okazaki, cause TA said some nice words about her that i agreed with. i liked her a lot before chap 3, she was fascinating, unconventional, and endearing. i miss that about her.
i also realized that i really, really miss tsuno, our brightest star, more than i'd known, and hama. hama... he was so kind. he thought he was damned, that he deserved to go to hell... and he read someone a bedtime story, in the softest and lightest voice he could make. ...i miss all of them, really.
the stream was very enjoyable overall. i really needed that rewatch too, it gave me some new insights. for example, it was interesting to watch [defense game] with what we know, cause it turns out that wada is not that bad of a liar, his "it wasn't mine either!" sounded pretty good. after the game, hiroaki and mai were grilling the bodily integrity person to reveal themselves. during an opportune moment, wada piped up to ask tamba softly what her sacrifice was, and luckily, she had the halved investigation time which you could argue is worse, and the focus immediately shifted towards her. ngl, that was pretty cunning of him, it surprised me. it's intriguing. i still don't think he's mai's killer tho.
speaking of mai... because of this stream it finally, finally hit me that she's truly gone, and that her death was a horrendous tragedy. the hayashigeki episodes became very painful to watch, the things she was saying in them... i hope to make an entire separate post about mai, so let's leave it at that. but, shigeki...shigeki, shigeki, shigeki. jfc.... he JUST said that he was the one most deserving of death in that building. a month ago he offered himself up to be executed instead of sasaki and that was for sasaki, they weren't even close, what he felt for her was shallow infatuation, but he knew mai and loved her. he felt sasaki killed someone because he didn't support her enough, and he woved to never repeat the same mistake again with mai. he was going crazy from worry, even when it lead to stupid as fuck arguments all the time, he tried, he begged her to let him help... and in the end? he was right. she died because she was alone. and he wasn't there to protect her. .....i'm extremely worried about him. for real this time.
