While I was looking through American McGee's Alice tagged fanfics on AO3, I came across Victor Van Dort/Alice Liddell (American McGee's Alice) fanfics that were done by Crossover_Chick. When I checked out Google for any fanart that might have been done on the ship, I noticed that Valice uses London Alice Liddell rather than Wonderland Alice Liddell. If I had to guess why, it must be due to the dark and gray colour scheme of Victor Van Dort and his film's universe.

Well, it took a while, but here we are, the final chapter of "Start At The Beginning...Sort Of!" Which is also the longest chapter, because -- as per the chapter title -- this is where all the exposition lives. Smiler: Huh. [leans in toward the head] I don't suppose we could ask what exactly you are?

Alice: I will never understand how you can just do that sort of thing.

maddie can barely hear the rapping on the door , given she's blaring her music as she applies her makeup . it's not until alice calls for her to answer the door that she realizes someone's there . groaning , she rushes downstairs and opens the door , and is greeted by a tall man dressed in a suit as well as a younger man , about madeline's age .

the shorter of the two sports a modern business fashion , half of his blueish hair covering an eyepatch while the rest is slicked back . the taller is dressed like he's attending a victorian ball , his suit almost competing with victor's normal attire . the three stare at each other for a moment before maddie finally breaks the silence , " can i help you ? "

she was expecting the taller one to speak first , and is surprised when the younger holds out his hand . " good afternoon , " he starts , his refined accent placing him from around london . boy he's sure far from home , she thinks before he continues . " my name is ciel phantomhive . i'm here to speak to alice liddell and victor van dort . is this their residence ? "

madeline laughs , glancing down at his hand in confusion . " uh , if by residence , you mean renting , then yeah . we're not interested in your religion or investing in your business , if that's what you're here for . "

the taller chuckles ; a devilish smile indeed . " oh no , my lady . we're just here to ask some questions . does the name angus bumby ring a bell ? "

chills roll down maddie's spine . who the hell are these guys ? " look , i don't know what kind of game you two are playing , but we're not interested . you can leave now . "

as she goes to shut the door , the elder man slips his foot through the crack , keeping her from closing them out . " sebastian michaelis , my lady . this is urgent , and we need to speak with your parents . "

maddie sighs , then opens the door , knowing she won't get rid of these two that easily . " fine . mom , dad ! these two weirdos are here to talk to you ! "

Sorry it’s a year late :/ life, you know! I had a few false starts with this one, a few discarded (and one lost) drafts, and then yet again a mad rush at the end because I learned nothing over the last year, so apologies if it’s not exactly what you had in mind but I think it came out pretty cute!!

My other lil birthday gift to you is yet another music recommendation: if you haven’t already, check out the new Amazing Devil album, Ruin. You’ll remember these guys as featuring rather heavily on the last playlist I sent you, well they’re back with the bangers, several of which have *excellent* Valice-y vibes- I would especially recommend the final number, Inkpot Gods, but the whole album’s worth a listen, gorgeous music with some on-point lines peppered throughout! Hello everyone -- I bring you the next chapter of "Start At The Beginning...Sort Of!" Chapter Two by my count, Chapter Three by AO3's. :p This is a meatier chapter than the previous two, covering the gang's arrival at the Mangled Mermaid, Victor explaining what's going on with him, and Emily arriving on the scene. Alice: What situation is not instantly improved by the addition of fishnets, I ask you. Maddie: Being a fish. Alice: Well, shit.

Victor: *chokes on something* Maddie: Jeez, Victor, don't die on us. Victor: Don't tell me what to do, I'll die whenever the hell I want!
