Let's talk about hotd's deleted scenes

Soo hotd has a lot of interesting scenes that were deleted. Some people love them, others believe that removing them was for the best.

Today I'll check em out and tell you how I feel about them, and how I think they could have benefited the show if kept in.

1. The infamous Daemon hug scene

Uhh I have.. feelings towards this.

And I already hear you go:

"How could you not like this, it's so wholesome!" Yeah I know I know, trust me, I think this is adorable, just a weird scene.

From what we know this shot was completely improvised by Matt and it shows.

Cause almost all of his character's nicer scenes that make people think "maybe he isn't that bad" were ideas Matt came up with. We can see throughout the show how the poor guy does his best to not make Daemon look like a psycho and it's nice on paper, but the contrast between his improvised scenes and the scripted ones is jarring.

I mean we go from him violently beating his first wife to death with a rock, to him tenderly breaking the news of Luke's death to Nyra or picking up Vizzy's crown and gently crowning him.

It does work more with his book characterization though so that's cool.

It's cute, it makes casual viewers go awww, but it's a bit inconsistent in the grand scheme of things.

I guess some people will interpret it as the softer spot Daemon has for the people he truly cares about, but knowing how he also treats them in other scenes...

Cough cough Rhaenyra choke scene cough cough.

I'm just left a bit confused.

Overall, I like it, but there's better.

2. Criston taking his Kingsguard vows.

God I wanted this to make the cut soo bad.

It's just that in the past I've already talked about how dirty Criston is done in the fandom, and I truly believe he deserves more screentime, he's a very interesting character.

So getting a scene like this would have been awesome, and by showcasing the pride and happiness Criston felt at achieving his dream thanks to Rhae, her eventual treatment of him would have hurt even worse.

Personally I'm not sure if it could have swung more people to feel for him and criticize Nyra, but it would have generally enriched his character and relationship with the princess and I would have looved it.

Only point against it is that it's probably one of the least important deleted scenes.

It sucks to say it, but I didn't really feel it's absence, you know?

If I had to cut a scene, I too would have chosen this one, but with a veery heavy heart.

Really solid idea though.

3. The Rhaenicent fight at the end of episode 2

Finally, we're moving onto Alicent related scenes.

And this... is my villain origin story.

I can't believe it was cut, wtf!

I get that maybe they wanted to stay loyal to the rule "show don't tell" cause it was already obvious that Rhae was mad at Alicent when she ran out of council meeting room after the announcement of her father's betrothal, but like... The possible angst!

Alicent crying, trying to explain the situation and appealing to their friendship to try and get Nyra to calm down while she screams at her and calls her names for not revealing the truth sooner, god this would have destroyed me even further!

The missed potential drives me insane, I would literally pay money to see how this scene was supposed to play out.

10/10

This awesome interaction would have also perfectly set up the hostility and tention that would characterize the next deleted gem...

4. Rhaenicent preparing for Ali's wedding

Godd, this is another one of those scenes that, in my humble opinion, should have stayed in the show.

Not only because of the possibility of more Rhaenicent angst to break my heart,(Yeess) but also because this is one of those scenes whose absence is really felt in the story for me.

We go from Ali and Viserys's betrothal to them being already married with a toddler and another baby on the way and even though I'm aware that hotd has a lot of time jumps, I do feel like we should at least have seen the wedding celebration before moving onto the future.

This event being glossed over really left a bad taste in my mouth.

9,5/10

I can just imagine the sad and awkward silence during that scene, poor girls.

5. Viserys testing Daemon regarding Aegon's prophecy

Soo, time to talk about the most incompetent targ king and his very problematic bro.

This scene had a loot of potential.

Apparently it was supposed to be about Viserys toying with the idea of revealing the Conquerer's prophecy to Daemon, but ultimately choosing not to after his brother showed little to no interest in what he was saying.

It would have been great to set up Daemyra's fight in the last episode

(honestly it would have been quite funny to see Daemon have a meltdown after hearing of the prophecy that he thinks his brother didn't trust him enough to tell him of, when he literally had the chance of knowing about it but threw it away lol)

And it also would have showcased how unfit Daemon is to rule, and given Viserys yet another reason to pick Rhaenyra as his heir over him.

9-/10

In conclusion:

Yes I know there are a lot more deleted scenes to discuss, but I really don't want this post to get too long, so I'm going to end it here.

Personally, I think all of these deleted scenes were good, and there genuinely wasn't a single one I would have hated to see on screen.

But unfortunately, for him, it's a shame to admit but the more he interacted with you, more he seems to fall into your weirdness, which even if he would feel dissapointed of himself, he quite change the path of his plans, quite enjoying this little relationship he has with you, growing attached eachtime you both start to connect. Now there you are, holding a frog and pointing it at Illusio, his eyes furrowing in confusion yet interest of why you're showing him a... Small dart-frog.

" Isn't it cute! I found hopping around the woods and decided to pick it up... The colors kinda reminded me or you! Except for the green eyes of course— " You say, bashfully, as your cheeks turns rosy by embarassment, especially at how Illusio is looking down at you in a firm neutral expression.

He asks about his purpose sometimes, doubting if is even that important like Wizeman says, but he would resist it for now... Yet never letting the idea die. " Will I... See you again? "

He smirks, like usually, before he turned his head to look at you. " Of course! Besides, I always come back! So don't worry, relax a little! I'll only come back once you're here again! " He starts to fly higher. " Ah besides! I might show you an special place once you come back to sleep, so, adeerya!~ "

Once you start to wake up and he fades away, in a distance enough around the void tunnels to come back to the dreamgates, his head starts to twist, along with his abdomen reflexing into an impulsion to let something out of his body. He spits out the frog who's still alive, holding the poor creature who's bathed in dark goo. His face is now serious after leaving the dreamscape, looking at the frog coldly. " .... You're coming with me, feel g r a t e f u l that I decided to accept you as an pet just because of t h e m. " The frog looks scared by him, before Illusio puts it in his pockets from the jacket. Like said before, is not the first time he had gifts from the visitor... He always save their trinkets in a special place of his domain, where nobody knows, neither them.

I feel like I'm in a cliche sappy song about unrequited love- watching the boy I'm in love with dance around his room with another girl, twirling her under his arm, laughing, throwing his head back with a big smile- it's miserable.

He doesn't feel the weight of my eyes as I lay on his bed, peeking over my phone veery once in a while to sneak a glance at their fleeting glances at one another, my heart dropping to my stomach at their proximity and forgetfulness, completely ignoring the fact that I'm here.

"I'm out of breath- fuck." Rue laughs, flopping onto the bed beside me as Elliot rests his hands on his hips, eyes fluttering up to look at the ceiling as he catches his breath.

"I'm gonna get some air." Kicking off the bed, I slide around Elliot, brushing his hand off of my waist before climbing down the stairs as quickly as I can. I can hear Elliot calling out for me and Rue telling him to let me go but based on the sound of his footprints getting ever so close to mine, I can tell he's running after me.

"Hey, baby- wait up!" Elliot calls as I force the front door open, almost throwing myself out into the cool night air, sucking in a big gulp of air.

"Hard truth Elliot, I'm in love with you and I have been for a while." There it is, the words that have been begging to escape me for months now- finally out in the air and finally digging into the front of Elliot's brain as he processes for a few seconds, blinking dumbly at me. "Time to wake the fuck up because you're not stupid and I know that you knew." My bottom lip wobbles and I watch his demeanor crack, fingers linking in front of him as his shoulders droop.

"So why ignore it?" I plead, head spinning at the thought of this being the end of our friendship, for this to finally be the breaking point of no return- the time that sends him running for the hills and right into Rue's arms.

"I don't know." He shakes his head, running his fingers through his hair as his eyes move down to the ground.

"Because you like taking advantage of the only girl who'll ever stay? The only girl who'll actually care?"

"Ouch." He hisses, rubbing a hand over his chest as if he's soothing a physical wound. "I wasn't trying to take advantage of you. I was just trying to avoid this conversation because I don't like talking about feelings." He groans, reaching up to cup my cheeks, forcing me to look up at him, eyes pleading with me to just relax. "You know you're my girl. I didn't know that needed to be said." He whispers, head tilting cutely at me and I blow out a breath of air, eyes fluttering shut. The words do seem to calm down the anxiety running rampant through my mind.

"It needs to be said and it needs to be clearer." I mutter, eyes suddenly widening as his lips press against mine in a simple peck, taking my and my worries completely off guard. He chuckles lightly and pulls away from me, hands moving down to link our fingers together.

"You jealous?" He asks and I nod before I can stop myself, lips still tingling from our unexpected kiss. "Alright. I'll make it clearer." He nods firmly, his words acting like a sort of promise in my brain and I know that I have to hold him to it.

"Start by making it clearer to me."

Partners for the Digimon Frontier Digidestined

In Episode 47, the Digidestined land on the Yellow Moon, courtesy to an attack from the freed Lucemon. There they meet the Baby Digimon and Digimon Eggs they had previously encountered, which had been under Swanmon's protection. And each of the Digidestined picks up a newly hatched Digimon, holding them in their arms. One day, I had the idea of making a list. Based on the Digimon they each picked up, what would each Digidestined's partner be if they had partners instead of Spirits?

I went according to what each Digimon would evolve in according to Wikimon, which contains all kinda official evolutions throughout all the different media (be it Pendulums, games, or whatever). At the same time, I tried to stick to each kid's theme where possible, like electricity for JP and wind for Zoe. Only ones that were impossible were Takuya and Tommy, since none of the Digimon they picked up had anything with ice or fire in their evolution trees.

Also, the Digivices would be the D3 from Adventure 02, cause I like the idea that these partners would also be able to Armor Digivolve - into armor Digimon we didn't see in anime yet as well (or at least not with the 02 kid's Digimon. We got Sagittarimon appearing shortly twice, but I'd loved to see Veemon actually evolve with the Digimental of Hope in an anime).

It would have been quite tempting to put the evolution line of Davis's Veemon. However, Paildramon and Imperialdramon are Jogress Evolutions, and we don't know what Exveemon would evolve into without Stingmon. Luckily, we have a very cool alternative option in the line of Tai's (probably) Veemon from the V-Tamer manga. So I went with that. Speaking of Tai - it's interesting that they gave him Chibomon and not Botamon/Koromon. The Agumon line would have kept the fire theme. But honestly... I would love to see the Veedramon line in anime one day. Or why not animate V-Tamer?

What can I say, with him getting a Tokomon...? Of course I had to pick the Angemon line. I only switched up the Mega level, picking Goddramon instead of Seraphimon. For... multiple, sometimes obvious reasons.

Oooff... my favourite Frontier kid, and he was the hardest to do. I wanted to keep a dark aestetic, since he does have the Spirits of Darkness. And I wanted to do like a dark counterpart to Koji. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of dark colored angel or angel-like Digimon that aren't evil. I think there are even none of those. That's why I was reluctant to pick LadyDevimon, since she usually is an antagonist when she appears in the anime. Isn't the only good LadyDevimon the one from Cyber Sleuth? But I think this is the list I feel most content with from all the option that I checked out. And Mastemon is pretty cool-looking. n.n I also could have gone with a cat aestetic, since, well, AncientSphinxmon, Löwemon and KaiserLeomon, but that worked out pretty badly as well.

Digivice color: Pink

Poromon - Hawkmon - Aquilamon - Sylphimon - Valkyriemon

Thank god they gave her Poromon. This made her list pretty easy. I mean, as holder of the Spirit of Winds, what better for her than a bird Digimon? Unfortunately we don't have a proper Ultra Level for Aquilamon, so I had to pick the Jogress Evolution Sylphimon. But I am not sad; it visually fits quite well with Aquilamon, and is also a perfect segway into Valkyriemon.

No ice for Tommy-boy here. However, I think he'd be very cute with Armadillomon, especially if it were anything like Cody's Armadillmon from 02. Here, I too had to pick the Jogress Evolution Shakkoumon for Ultra Level. But with SlashAngemon as Mega, I don't mind, since Shakkoumon serves as a good segway from earth to steel (and angel).

Story time!

Treasure Planet (2002) is Treasure Island set in space. It was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. They worked in Disney as directors for a while, and some of their other directive credits include movies such as The Great Mouse Detective (1986), The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997), and more recently Moana (2016). Before directing those they worked as character animators and writers in other movies, and then one day they went to the at the time chairman of Disney, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and asked him to pretty please let them adapt Treasure Island and set it in space. However, they didn't have the best timing because this was after the release of Black Cauldron (1985), which had flopped bad and they'd worked on as writers.

Jeff said a big nope and had them direct The Great Mouse Detective (1986). And after that movie came out, Clements and Musker asked again, and Jeff instead made them directors for The Little Mermaid (1989) and Aladdin (1992), and after each movie they made, they kept asking about Treasure Planet. By that point Jeff told them that if they directed one more film, Hercules (1997), he'd let them do Treasure Planet. They did and Treasure Planet got the greenlight.

The movie is amazing and I won't go into why to keep this a reasonable length, but one of its feats was how it combined traditional 2d animation, CG animation and deep canvas (a looot of deep canvas). It was very cool, very innovative and veeery expensive.

That's the factual part of the story, now we go into personal opinions and fan theories, which are that basically maaaybe Disney didn't really want to make this movie, and it only got the ok because it was the passion project of their two directors responsible for the Disney Renaissance. Between the movie's budget and the marketing they spent a whopping 180 million to make this movie (Aladdin cost them 28m, The Little Mermaid 40m, Hercules 85m).

However, when Treasure Planet came out in late 2002, it flopped. Another Disney movie that came out earlier that year during the summer and had done amazing was Lilo and Stitch. Great movie too, btw, and the marketing team had made sure people heard about it. Six months before it came out you got ads of Stitch disrupting iconic scenes, McDonalds toys... the whole spiel. Meanwhile Treasure Planet's marketing was a mess and their ads either didn't give out anything about the movie or spoiled a bunch of stuff. And they released the movie in December 2002. Do you know what other movie had released just a couple days before? The second movie about a certain boy wizard whose books were written by an author whose name I shall not utter. Oh, and another veery Christmasy Disney movie, The Santa Clause 2. These two both dominated the box office while Treasure Planet... didn't.

And the thing is that Disney knew. They were well aware that there wasn't much buzz about the movie and that it's sales projections didn't look good, and despite all the money they'd invested on it... they didn't move the release to a date that would help it perform better.

Also, while Treasure Planet's box-office numbers might have been lackluster, the movie received excelled critics and even received an Oscar nomitation for Best Animated Picture.

But why they would set up to fail their own movie?

Well, because then they could avoid doing a sequel. Remember Jeff, the guy that approved Clements and Musker's passion project? He hadn't been with Disney since 1994, and there'd been two other chairmen after him. Any loyalty and passion left for this movie remained with the people working on it, not with the top executive's whose job was to make money, not art.

And here's the tragic kicker: films like A Bug's Life or Monster's Inc, aka 3d movies were doing amazing in the box-office, so Disney wanted to switch directions. By setting the very expensive movie to fail, they avoid doing the promised (and likely just as expensive) sequel that was already in pre-production. Making sure Treasure Planet failed planted the first nail in the coffin where a couple years later they would bury their 2d animation studio. A couple more 2d animated movies later that didn't really do that great either they closed shop for good and switched completely to the 3d animated features we get nowadays.

(Also while the storyboard for the sequel is somewhere in a Disney vault gathering dust, there's some stuff on the internet with rough designs for the sequel and info about the plot and it looked SO GOOD AND THEY CANCELLED AND IT'S BEEN OVER 20 YEARS AND I'M STILL MAD ABOUT IT)

Imagine, if you will, a world where hybrids are the standards. (someday i will complete my full dsmp/general minecraft wordbuilding document, but today is not that day. Keep in mind we are talking of minecraft with related weirdness: player will be used as a normal person might say human, code instead of soul, and so on.)

Humans aren't unnatural, per se, simply a different kind of player; when Earth opened its doors, and showed itself a public server composed of 90% humans, it made a scandal. Why even do that? some say. It's not like we need a full server of sheep either, why one full of humans?

Earth wasn't entirely made of humans, of course, there was no segregation happening - and the Antartic Emperors liked to make that veery clear - but rumors run, and hate runs faster.

So we imagine, now, a world where hybrids are the standard and human are - not hated, not really, but the species version of your friend's little sibling you were forced to hang out with.

Undesired.

They tend to their own servers and their own people; that feeling of segregation was entirely self-made, but that didn't make it disappear.

Now, we set our gaze onto a very peculiar little village, onto an otherwise very unpeculiar server (a public one on peaceful, to be exact. The kind where unadventourous players and retired war heroes go to set up families and the like). This village is particulare because, after years and years of generally normal genetics happening, a human is born. And then, he disappears.

The little baby had appeared on a demon's doorstep at half past dawn, bundled up and crying. The crying hadn't been there before - like someone had pressed a button, the second they had opened the door. The demon was. well. a bit shocked to say the least. But they had a child already - which means they already had a crib, and formula, and the general mental attitude to suffering one needs to bear children. What was one more?

The child grew up indistinguishable. When the demon's original child, Eryn, was old enough to comprehend what had happened, he didn't care at all; when the human child was old enough to comprehend the luck he had had, he started praying.

They'd called him Tommy with no particular reasoning: it had been a human character in the parent's latest book, and they admit they hadn't had a lot of imagination - Tommy never complained about it, and he complained about pretty much everything.

about the cold snow outside, about bath times - which he absolutely Didn't Need, and how dare they assume he was dirty - about how Eryn didn't want to play, about how Eryn did want to play but not in the right way, about anything and all.

A very opinionated four year old, for sure. One that always made sure his voice was heard.

One night, the voice went silent.

The village searched for him for days, and then for months, and then for years- every crevice, every river, every frozen lake, finding nothing but a singular, small red shoe.

Eryn was devastated. But his parent moved on, and so did he.

In the meantime, Tommy forgot. He had been taking by a group that called themselves "The betterers". Awful grammar, for sure, and it didn't even manage to sound cool. An entire team of scientists working together to make the entire Game a better place, and they couldn't come up with anything better than that? Pathetic, Tommy will say. Absolutely ridicoulous.

But as bad as they were with names, they were half decent scientists with a very clear goal: getting rid of thos awful, boring little humans, so that every player in existance would be able to rejoice in Life's gifts.

(Life would like to add, from behind the scene, that She has absolutely no part in any of these. Her job ended at creation; anything the creatures want to fuck up beyond that is outside her competence.)

So to accomplish their goal they made what, in scientific terminology, was defined as "a careful mix of specified genetic traits, carefully selected, given intravenously".

Tommy would say they "fucked him up with a gene cocktail" and he wouldn't be any less correct. It started to have a visible effect at around twelve weeks post treatment - parenting got a whole lot easier for those scientists, since tommy needed to be on pain meds (some awful concotion of regen and weakness that definitely did Not aid his magic addictions later on) and was out like a light ninety percent of the time.

Who knew a toddler wouldnt be emotionally or physically ready to grow three more limbs?

When Tommy escapes - when they throw him out of the lab, freshly seven, freshly finished with his experiments - he finds himself what he likes to call a family. All of them are hybrids, two of them avians, and with the wings he sports on his own back it is easy to claim at least partial comformity.

He likes being like them, even though he knows, in the end, hes simply a human. Flowers sing to him when he walks, birds chirp in a slightly too understandable way, and the urge to hide and sneak and steal is sometimes too hard to ignore, and hes a happy avian with a happy (mostly) avian family.

All it takes is two weeks and a rusty axe to strip that identity away from him.

Theres no use being an avian without a flock; giving in to gis raccoon side had often just brought him trouble, and he is way too busy to tend to gardens now, as much as his moobloom genes has helped him in the past.

Every little bit of identity has been stripped from him, over and over and over. He had never been allowed to be himself, completely, not enough to figure out who himself really was; a fucked up puzzle missing half of the pieces, like the one Michael likes to bite down on. Tommy's pretty sure half the board is in his stomach by now, and whats left in the box is so completely unrecognizable they might as well throw it out. But they never do, because it has bits and Pieces of gold thorough it and Michael loves it more than his normal toys, for whatever reason, and Prime above knows they know what emotional attachment to useless shit can be like.

So they keep the puzzle. And Tommy looks at himself in the mirror when you ask - sees his moobloom horns, his raccoon tail. Remembers what it was like to feel the wind on his wings. - puts on one of those big smiles of his, and answers.

hello, here to share my opinions on troye's new album (sorry if it gets too long) 😌 as i said im absolutely OBSESSED with this album. like i always enjoyed his music, but to show this level of iconography????? CMON????? there is one problem i have with the album tho: every time i try to listen to it from start to finish, i get delayed by the fucking masterpiece that is "one of your girls" :/ every time this song comes on, i have to listen to it at least 5 times. wtf troye???? i would say it's my fave on the album, but that's an understatement. that's the best song of the whole year for me. god. isnt this giving daft punk like hello????? THE MV ALSO?????? 🤯 okay moving on to the other songs sjsjdhdhf u know that i loved all the singles, and they sound even better in the context of the album!! there is not a song i dont enjoy in this album, i couldnt even make a ranking because they are all so good. overall, THE BEATS in this album got me floating in space and shaking my ass at the same time. THE LYRICS???? i reallllly love the lyrics too i feel like they elevate the experience a lot which is so cool. the songs i find myself replaying the most (other than the obviously stated one above jsjdhf): in my room, honey, got me started (this one is a grower tbh). also i really feel like the songs are really cohesive and work so well together. i feel like every song will have their turn of being my fave in the upcoming months, because i intent to keep this on rotation ABSOLUTELY. this will be a contemporary pop classic and now troye is one of the main pop girls, sorry i dont make the rules... anyway, what are your thoughts? 😌

okay, first of all, i love your thoughts and i couldn't agree more about everything you said! <3 i keep coming back to this album, idk what troye put in it but it's SO addicting aaah! oh i absolutely understand the obsession with "one of your girls" bc GOD, it's amazing. chef's kiss on every level, the lyrics are perfect, the production is 10/10, the mv!!! (and yeeees, the daft punk vibes!!) are you kidding me?!! imo, the mv perfectly shows the transition between this album and troye's previous albums, he's confident, he's serving and he knows what he wants! and that's actually something i love about the whole album, it's very touching to see him being even more mature with his music and SO confident and it feels so freeing! genuinely, i'm so happy and grateful that i grew up with his music, it was veery important to me in my teenage years and it makes me so happy to see him grow as an artist (and person) waaah🥹 and i think that's also why i love this album so much, bc it's another step! I pretty much like all of them, they all have their own charm! My absolute favorite is Ludis Mergas because he’s a cutie cinnamon roll :,) fell in love with him ever since the Lukedonia Invasion arc came out!

I like and welcome all ships, (except for one) I think they’re all dynamic and interesting! My favorite is Ludis/Rozaria.

For other ships that I think are pretty cool (not in a particular order & a few are reverse flexible) : Tao/Takeo, Regis/M-21, Regis/Rael, Frankenstein/Lunark, Raskreia/Karias, Raskreia/Rozaria, Karias/Razark, Kei/Rozaria, Juraki/Dorant, Ignes/Maduke, Previous Lord/Muzaka, and many more that will just make the list too long XD

Other stuff and anything really… oh boy that’s gonna be LONG haha!! (there are mild spoilers below so take care; maybe only read if you’ve finished the series!)

To make it a lot shorter (still veery long) I have:

Rai: OMG. Our titular protagonist. Pure beauty and elegance. I think I first got into this manhwa when I was in 8th or 9th grade and I’ve never came across a protagonist that left such a deep impact in my memory until Rai. Just everything. I think every single one of my notebooks and homework papers had Rai doodles all over them, haha XD I love his cute sides too!!!! Ramen forever 🍜 Also I think his concept of being Noblesse is quite an intriguing. Being bound to loneliness due to his position/status as that silent guardian being, but eventually finding his own family and home. It all resonates too well ;-;

Frankenstein: tbh, in the past I was never too fond of him since there were some contradicting parts of his character that I found a little hard to like, but now I can see how him being morally grey has a charm of its own and he is a fascinating character . That maniacal side? And the purple from Dark Spear to contrast his beautiful gradient blonde hair?? So interesting!

M-21: Ahhhhh. Ah! ah! Another one of my favorites :,) his backstory and character growth is probably one of the most impressive ones. There is just so much DEPTH to him. Also his ever growing and changing werewolf transformation is just so fascinating!! Love his visual design very much too!

Takeo: Gun expert & purple hair beauty. Calm and has a funny side. That’s all I need to say ;,) His design in terms of outfits is probably one of THE BEST (especially in DA-5 form)

Tao: Computer expert mushroom boy!!! I love how chill he is, he’s always so funny!!! He’s always the one to suggest and do bizarre ideas which is part of why I like him! And the black nail polish Omg…

The four children: I love them for being there with us from beginning to end!!! Showing Rai what an ordinary life is like, and caring for him when they notice something is wrong. Little angels

Regis: Cutie pie!!! Landegre is one of my favorite clans and I love how interesting his personality is. Just being overly concerned with elegance and he tries so hard XD Love his determination and care for his friends! Also his design is just SO cool with the black streaks in his hair.

Seira: ahhhhh that long silver hair. Her fighting style with Death Scythe. A girl of a few words, but can sometimes be very expressive. And those blushes when she gets praised!!!

Rael: another one where we see HUGE character development!! I love his attitude, both before and after XD nice design too!!

Razark: Dutiful, determined, and cares for his family. Too beautiful. Him wielding Kartas? And his noble attire design and the Kertia bat matif in general??? Perfect!!!

Karias: I love how he doesn’t act like your typical noble and is very funny! His messy hair… the roses he always has at hand… that flashy outfit.. and his bow Amor!!!! Too good!!!

Gejutel: okay gramps is just like. One of my favorite characters. Who doesn’t love gramps the invincible!!!!

Ludis: Baby!!!! My absolute favorite from the series!!!! I love how he’s super interesting in human activity like tea parties and housekeeing,,, so cheerful,,,, and that round head?? Those bangs??? The green aura he emits and Izarok??? For me, the closest that gets to what people would call a fictional character crush!! He’s just smol and precious. Give him his tea party ;-;

Rozaria: one of the coolest big sisters on the block. I like how the clan leaders/noble families all have a different inspiration to them; a lot them are melee/fighting type and I really LOVE how they gave her a different approach with that witch/magic caster vibe. That red hair… those glasse… the fur coat and dress… the heels… she’s just beautiful!! I love her special sister relationship with Seira too!

Kei: I don’t see many people talk about him or at all really, but also one of my favorites! (i love nobles in general too) His guantlets are super cool and I love how he’s like on the extreme end of melee fighters. His messy hair and martial arts style in general… just so cool! I like how the theme just POPS out so much like that. And that Tiger motif. Probably one of my favorite subjects to draw!

Raskreia: oh my,,,, I just love her so much. Don’t even know how to put into words but her inner struggles really resonates with me somehow, relating with her to a certain degree. The things she has to bear and overcome, and she did it in her own way which is really fascinating! Also that design… the hairstyle especially the braided bun…. And her outfit… and SOUL WEAPON…. they come together to form a beautiful character. Also one of my favorites subjects to draw.

Previous Lord: He’s just too funny, I love how he has his quirks XD

Claudia: alsolutely beautiful design, I love her braids and pigtails. Wish we got to see more of her! There’s so much left unknown! I wanted to see her wield Dolor and show her true power so much

Roctis and Ignes: I love how their goals and personalities contrast so much. The extremes of Selflessness vs selfishness. And the whip with a sea monster/snake motif??? LOVE.

Gradeus: aggressive berserker Jack O Lantern, hehe!

Urokai: love his design. That eye patch.. ugh!! Too beautiful!! Also the reason behind his betrayal is very different from the others which is a detail I find to be very fool.

All the other nobles: will get too long if I list all of them but they’re all cool! Love that consistency with eye color design, the eye color is the same for all of them but they look so different on everyone!

Muzaka: our werewolf Lord ahhhhhh!!!! Love how creative they were with his design. That hairstyle is very unique. Love how carefree he is, until he gets serious.

Ashleen: BABY!!!!

Lunark: Perfection. One of my top three favorite female characters. Love that sass. Those pink eyes. Everything.

Kentas: Burger boy!!!

Maduke: One of the more interesting villains for sure! Also love that side swept hair and cunning personality.

Dorant, Juraki & other werewolves: I just love how… brightly colored they are. There’s at least one character for every shade of color on ghe rainbow. Like not humans or nobles…the werewolves are the most colorful bunch!!

Other stuff that I like:

-the ART STYLE OF THIS MANHWA!!!!! It’s so simple yet sophisticated at the same time. The character expressions? Fluid poses and gesture drawings?? Combat scenes???? Every scenes?????? So nice!!!!

-probably not like too related to the manhwa itself but there were mobile games released based on this manhwa! Sadly most of them had their servers shut down and it’s all in the past : the most notable one for me was the one released by Neowiz. That GAME did a superb job designing new outfits for all the characters (game-original and not present in the manhwa) a and honestly they were so good they could’ve totally been canon! The characters’ typing and stats were also based on characters’ nature in the manhwa itself so a nice touch. Sadly it got discontinued in 2021 I believe. I’ll remember it forever!

hii! im back from camping!! it was the most perfect camping trip i have ever been on 😭 my roommate and i are really well matched in terms of how we like to camp and the weather was great and the park was so beautiful and the birds were SO good

some lake photos:

saw lots of nesting warblers (canada, blackburnian, black and white, chestnut-sided, northern parula, black throated green, magnolia, and more) including some incredible views of canada and chestnut-sided warblers feeding fledglings. also saw ravens, red breasted nuthatches, white throated sparrows, all sorts of woodpeckers, pine siskins, bald eagles, so many loons, a canada jay, and veeries—the boreal forest in summer does not disappoint! saw several lifers (ruffed grouse, northern parula, and winter wren, to name a few) including one REALLY EXCITING BIRD: an american three-toed woodpecker! unfortunately it was only viewable for about a minute so without a photo that sighting wont make it into the ebird data but i know what i saw :) very very very happy and grateful about it

my roommate and i did a lot of chilling and a lot of hiking, and some kayaking on the one day it was calm enough to rent boats from the park office. some more pictures:

i learned that ankle instability is causing many of the problems ive been having in my right leg because my hiking boots have excellent ankle support and i was not in pain wearing them lol. good to know going forward!

on our way back we stopped off in ely to go to the international wolf center and eat lunch :) the wolves were super cool and their educational exhibit was excellent. really great interactive elements + the most beautiful regalia i have ever seen (no pic as my phone was dead lol). wolf center + ely pics:

my body is tired after a week of camping but honestly i feel great overall. im so so happy to have gotten to do this! 😊
