Green is the underlying plant colour in a conservatory and this coupled with crisp white paintwork gives them that undeniably Victorian air.

Cleaned up the lineart for my crazy Victorian scene. I’m so nervous about coloring this one. Just look at that lineart.

The Crystal Palace
I love Kaoru Mori's 'Emma: A Victorian Romance' so so much but I also want to scream because all the scenes with the Crystal Palace exhibition awoke something in me. It's such a significant place for Emma and William, and it's so beautiful and symbolic and I could honestly just make a whole analysis post on it- but the point being is that ever since I got into the anime/manga, I have wanted nothing more than to dress up in a way inspired by the late 19th century and visit the Crystal Palace and daydream shamelessly about finding my own William. The problem? Crystal Palace burned down nearly a century ago, in 1936 to be precise, and for about a year now I've been filled with so much nostalgia and longing for a place I have never even visited but I just know I would love.

(Two of these aren't pics of the actual Crystal Palace but I figured they're kind of like what it might have looked like if it had survived today.)

A miniconservatory creates an intimate alcove with two plumply cushioned seats and a wrought-iron railing... the design team extended the room and roofed the new area with glass.
