Do you ever watch a Sherlock Holmes adaptation, and the moment John Watson comes on screen go:

"Yup. That's a John Watson. That is, 100%, no doubt, a John Watson."

YES ABSOLUTELY, personality aside Watson's appearance is super important for me to get immersed. I just become so hyperaware of the fact that it's an ACTOR when he doesn't look like Watson. For a specific case, one of my fave Watsons (outside of 1 to 1 depictions) would have to be Himesh Patel in Enola Holmes. As SOON as I saw that guy I was like 😮😮😮🫵🫵🫵🫵 YOOOOOO WAAAAATSOOOOONNNNNN

But in general, my criteria is as follows:

Have kind eyes. Not sure if it makes much sense but you've got to see some zest for life and love for humanity in Watson's eyes. Yeah, it can be tinged with sadness, but it's GOTTA be there (I think BBCs Watson failed on this front, but Miss Sherlock's Wato-san nailed it).

Be well dressed. Watson is always describing what people wear and how they look, he's a very aesthetically involved man. He once said he was happy a dude got murdered cuz the guy was just THAT butt ugly. If he's wearing some wack ass clothes im NOT watching 🤦🤦 Holmes can look crazy, but Watson absolutely cannot

Be handsome, but fluffy. I feel like CBS especially has a problem with the second half because Elementarys Joan and Watsons Watson are literal supermodels and I just can't get past it. (I haven't seen either, but a gif of CBS Watson came across my dash and in it he was literally like flexing??? In his SLEEP 😭😭?? enough is enough). I appreciate the effort to overcorrect after years of goofy, cartoonish Watson depictions but I'll take that over this tall mewing gigachad any day of the week.

like for example what animal/monster/pokemon (unsure fully what you were going for) he was combined with! it definitely looks mammalian, but at the same time.. FOUR SETS OF LIMBS..

i'm like completely obsessed with it and it's activating all the autism parts in my brain and i just. AUGHH ITS SO GOOD

WOOOO HI!!!!! thank you for liking it. It surprises me a lot. I did it for fun lol! And I didn't think anyone else would like idk like it that much lol, aaaand tbh hmm, I didint actually think much when designing it, I mostly used my dragon kieran design as a based! which is this one!

What I used for inspo for this design was Asian dragons, Furret, and Hydrapple! The amount of limbs in the chimera is for that, so basically all of does plus Kieran's human body! They are a mammal because of Furret. Plus, I like it when asian dragons have fur on their back lol. I didn't add the horns in the first doodles of it, but they are supposed to have hydrapple horns and I think some markings?? i don't remember much lol, but yeah it's was just fun :D!!

His POV was described shortly in Volume 1 of the light novel. Touko Amekawa said she will write about his true feelings and inner thoughts someday, though.

This is... properly angsty:

“I’m scared too, Violet,” Xaden whispers, and I’ve never heard him so vulnerable. I sink deeper into his arms, the comfort he’s offering me, hoping to give him some in return.

“It’s not your fault if I die,” I breathe. But we both know it won’t be only me.

“Don’t bother,” Xaden commands. “Save your reassurances for if you live, because if you die, I won’t have much time to feel guilty.”

But he would. This man I thought for certain was ready to kill me would feel guilty if I died brutally at his hands. 

That is a comfort in itself, that if death comes, it wasn’t on purpose, or of ill will. It was simply an accident.
