The implementation of the Mumbai-Pune Hyperloop project will change the face of travel in India. The hyperloop is a steel tube maintained at partial vacuum, to transport passengers in high-speed pods that can carry people and cargo.

According to Virgin Hyperloop One, the state government has deemed the hyperloop a public infrastructure project. This ultra-modern project will connect the two cities from BKC in Mumbai to Wakad in Pune, covering a total distance of 117.5 km. The fares are tentatively set to be higher than first-class train travel but lower than flight tickets. The idea is to keep fares as low as possible to stimulate demand but not so low that will drive away project investors.

Hyperloop One eyes end-2019 to start building India's Mumbai-Pune route. The first Indian commercial hyperloop between the two cities is set to begin operations by 2025. Naiknavare is proud about this technological advancement which will transform the rapidly growing western region of Pune.
