Hello Everyone!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted and I just wanted to give an update, if you’re curious.

If not, just know that I’ll be posting regularly again next week 🩵

Anyways…

So as you may or may not know, I was in a car accident in January that left me with a concussion and injuries. I had to take time off work and have been dealing with non stop headaches since then. Luckily I work for a personal injury lawyer and we’re able to have the other person’s insurance pay for everything. My treatment and new car plus extra for pain and suffering.

I work on computers all day for work and looking at screens for long periods do hurt so that’s why I’ve been not posting so much(although I do have a lot in the drafts). I just wanna make sure I can properly proofread and post accordingly.

So my injuries plus emense amount of stress has made it difficult for me to do many things. I also had a brain injury as a baby so me getting a concussion is worrisome. I can’t stand and move around for too long at a time without needing to sit or lay down… I’m gonna be seeing specialists to make sure it didn’t mess something up 😅

Also. Update with my dog, Mocha.

I took her to the groomers 2 weeks ago and the groomer injured her. Basically the groomer choked her too hard and cut off some circulation?? She was having weird twitches. I complained to the company(who is a big pet store chain) and they didn’t take me seriously until I had my boss(a lawyer) threaten them so they paying for her vet bills now. She’s doing better now.

It’s been a rough 2024 so far. But things are finally getting back on track! I’ve also been picking up drawing again like I used to. As I mentioned, looking at screens hurts a bit so my digital art has been hard to keep up with.

Also my birthday is coming on the 26th and I’m trying to come to terms that I’m gonna be 25 and in my mid twenties 😭

Just giving a little life update…

Ignore if you want. Just giving explanation for my sporadic posts.

So I’ve been recovering from my car accident from 3 weeks ago. Really messed up my back so I’ve been treating with chiropractor. I also had a bad concussion so I had to recover from that. I think it’s fine now. I still have light headaches but I think that’s from the whiplash.

Life has been meh.

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD so now I’m trying to manage that on top of my already severe depression and anxiety. Depression also has been hitting pretty hard. I turn 25 in a month and it’s making me incredibly depressed.

On another note, I’ve been working on my art more lately (specifically my digital art.)

I was always told that going to art school is useless but I’m thinking of going to community college to get an art degree(community college is free in California luckily). I really really wanna be a storyboard artist. It’s something I’ve wanted since I was little.

Anyways, I’m coming back slowly. Now that I have a stable job, I’m also doing my best to save more. I’ll be posting more soon 🫰🏽

When I first watched One Piece when i was a teen it was inspiring. It was about dreams and being able to achieve everything you wanted, if you only tried hard enough. And that was exactly what i needed back then, being able to dream and thinking i could conquer the world.

And then i stopped watching because life caught up to me and I was faced with the truth that i wouldn't be able to achieve everything i wanted, maybe not even my biggest dream. Much later (now) I gave it a second chance.

And when I watch it now, it about something different for me. Of course they're still all chasing their dreams. But it's more than that.

It's not (only) about becoming king of the pirates. It's about frindship and sticking to the people you trust the most.

It's not about becoming the greatest swordsman. It's about being loyal and keeping your word.

It's not about mapping all of the seas. It's about freedom an being able to make your own decisions.

It's not about becoming a great worrior of the seas. It's about being brave and doing what's important to you, even if you're afraid.

It's not about finding the All Blue. It's about caring for each other and found family.

It's not about finding the ultimate cure. It's about valueing live in each and every form.

It's not about saving your country. It's about taking responsibility for those who were entrusted to you and to not tolerate injustice .

It's not about finding the lost history. It's about truth and how knowledge never should be kept away.

It's not about having build the ship of the pirateking. It's about following in the steps of the people before you, honoring their legacy and building a meanigful life.

It's not about finding your old friend. It's about reliability and keeping a promise made, come what may.

In my opinion this is why it was no problem at all für Luffy to die there and then in Logue Town, it did not matter, that he would die or wouldn't reach his dream, because on every step, he did exactly what was important for him and was guided by his values.

And this is what made it inspiring a second time to me, this was what I needed at this point in my life. It's not about achieving your "dream" or a goal. That may be nice, but whats after? It's about living true to yourself and following your values - that compass - wholeheartedly. And truth be told, you will never be finished, but isn't that what makes it so beautiful?
