-valtiel is a fallen angel who fell from heaven around the 1950s. she was heaven-born and enlisted in the angelic "army" (the one that mainly focuses in killing demons) and was an active member she failed to kill a demon she had been assigned, resulting in the death of an angel, and she was kicked out and stripped of her angelic status(including wings and also eye i guess) (i dont really have too specific of a reason why she was kicked out might change it later but all that matters is she was forcibly exiled to hell).

-she managed to sneak an angelic weapon with her to hell before she was exiled (maybw there was a trial which gave her time to prepare?? im still figuring this shit out)

-initially she was extremely distrustful of the demons, and lied about being a sinner sent to hell as she did not want to attract attention to herself (being a fallen angel in hell will guarantee you a reputation) but she began to open up when she met charlie.

-she is very closed off and a very stubborn person. after falling from heaven she took an oath to become a pacifist, something she will inevitably have to break.

-her loyalty lies first and foremost in the hotel. despite being rejected by heaven she still believes that it is a better fate and that charlie's plan is ultimately helpful

-charlie is the only person she can really open up to. they just click. when they met valtiel was hostile towards charlie, but her optimism made valtiel realise that demons weren't inherently evil and gave her hope for the future

-charlie does not know valtiel is a fallen angel

-valtiel does not plan to tell her

-charlie finds out anyways

-it starts with valtiels spear that she is forced to use to protect charlie (maybe its like,, demons often try and kidnap or harm charlie as they wish to threaten lucifer/lilith and she is an easy target)

Every time I learn something new about Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss I feel myself die a little inside

The main problem with HH/HB isn't just the writing, Viv and her fetishes/favoritisms, world building, character designs, and all the controversial shit, it's the fucking concept of both shows

Sorry if I'm being vague at first I'll try to explain it the best I can

This is mainly targeted twords Helluva Boss but I'll also include some Hazbin in it too

So, y'all know the concept of Helluva Boss right? Blitzø, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona run a business where they kill sinners rivals in Earth, right? Well if you just think about that you'd know how fucking stupid of an idea it is for a show

I'm just convinced viv one day was like

"Hey! I should make a show with a bunch of horny demons who kill people in real life!"

Without putting even AN INCH consideration through it, she just made the show and was soooo surprised with all the backlash of it

The whole point of I.M.P is fucking pointless, there no point of getting revenge on people in real life cause when they die...omg, THEY'LL GO TO FUCKING HELL, STUCK WITH THE SAME PERSON WHO HATES THEM FOR ALL OF ETERNITY

And sure, there is like a 0.001 percent chance they'll go to heaven, but may I remind you they also share the same hell as Hazbin, and the angels can visit hell, so it wouldn't make a fucking difference cause idk they'd probably piss off the person who paid the I.M.Ps that killed them

As for Hazbin, the plot isn't bad, for once Viv has a good idea, but that doesn't mean it's not shitty, from the first episode it was doomed, this mainly has to do with the extermination

So as y'all know in Hazbin in the first episode Charlie explains how there's an overpopulation so evey year the angels just like fucking kill then all, that's where it doesn't make sense!!!

First of all, how can there be an overpopulation since hell (or I guess pentagram) is very, VERY HUGE, what's the need for an extermination?? Besides when Charlie sang Happy day in hell there where like a shit ton of background characters already getting murdered, hell can literally handle their own overpopulation 💀💀

Second of all, they're already dead, WHERE DO YOU GO AFTER YOUR DEAD?? In the finale where Sir Pentious (sorry if I spelt his name wrong lol) got killed by Adam, he was shown ending up in Heaven with Sera and Emily, so if that's what happens when you get killed, it basically means EVEN IF SINNERS GET KILLED THEY'LL STILL AND UP IN HELL AGAIN, VIV, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

Third of all is how people are born into hell, it's not really deep as people make it to be, since there's like a lot sex they could just like...yknow?

The whole extermination wasn't thought through and only used as a plot point for the show, and not to mention they never said why Adam moved up the extermination, which makes me pissed off given they don't even bring up again and probably won't cause Adam is dead (thank you Nifty 😭😭)

my hazbin hotel thoughts

Basically, I thought it might be cool to watch the new show, i watched the pilot and that was kinda it. none of the characters really stuck out to me but I thought the actual show would be different. WHOOOH BOYYY was i wrong. The show itself had weak characters who don't develop much and an incredibly rushed plot. The songs were ok, they weren't amazing or absolute dog shit. But lets talk about the characters.

Charlie: her character to me was so incredibly hard to watch. shes not funny, relatable or something I enjoy seeing. Her entire character arc is flat. It seems like vivzie just used the "adorkable" template that disney uses. Her character was just bad. Vivziepop is so bad at religious imagery it is laughable.

Vaggie: Holy shit. the voice acting was so flat and emotionless. Her whole angel reveal thing was so badly executed and just expected. when you want a plot twist you want it to 1. make sense with the characters and 2. be a twist. The whole vagina-vaggie thing wasn't funny.

Alastor: his character is just a tumblr sexyman. His character design is a much different thing, he is supposed to be a black character but his hair is straight and his skin is gray which seems to be a reccurring theme for vivzies "black" characters. (ie. The seraphim, velvette). If he was a black man who died in the 1930's whos parents would have most likely been slaves, the whole thing with him and husk with the chain and the being tied to him/being his slave thing wouldn't have happened. Alastor is boring.

Angel dust: the fetishized sexual abuse was terrible. he is literally just quagmire from family guy. His character is weak and undeveloped. that kinda it.

The plot:

The plot itself was weak and very rushed. the whole heaven is bad thing was terrible. If i was the one doing the show I would have done the same premise maybe stretched across a longer period. Also maybe having the group go to the different rings in hell and they would learn a bit about the character and maybe how they could be a better person so then they would have a reason to be redeemed. like in the greed ring, we learn about husk being an ex-overlord and him seeing the residents and realizing that if he doesn’t change he will become just like mammon. it would be cool to see a character battling addiction. Using daddy issues as a trope in your story is not an inherently bad idea. but the way it is shown in hh/hb is so...bad. the "funny millennial dad who is just trying his best" is the basis of 3 different characters in both hh/hb. Charlie and Lucifers relationship is so badly written and it portrays lucifer as doing nothing wrong. it would be cool to see charlie internally battling with weather to forgive her father for not talking to her/ neglecting her throughout the show.

anyway. thats kinda it. I am in the process of making a full length video making redesigns of the characters and re-vamping the plot

This is late but in regards of voodoo symbol use in Hazbin Hotel, they are in fact used incredibly wrong in context. Some symbols are literally just protection from evil spirits, but Viv would not know that because no one wants to research this stuff. They saw voodoo symbols they thought it looked demonic, they used it without thought point blank. And this is partly why voodoo is a closed practice. Colonizers are racist about it

I need help debating and deciding something deeply important to me..

I have an oc that is deeply important to me, or should I say multiple? Anyway.. I have this whole indie show idea and I'm not sure if I'm ready to show it to the public yet, especially because it's very patchy and stuff.. but maybe I can keep it open while I make it a dream come true? I would be willing to make a whole blog dedicated to it if you all want to see it, I'll give the name and a slight idea first.

It's called Headside and it's basically an idea i've had for an indie show or comic for awhile now, it's all based around item heads that live in a world that has good and evil together.. Now I have been skeptical for a very long time because I was afraid of criticism and being harassed for the whole thing unintentionally having a style similar to VivsiePop's..

Especially a character named Fikhar that I was really proud of, wich a few of my irl friends have already said he was similar to "Angle Dust" but just a cotton candy item head..

Anyways, I am still sceptical.. But, I'm open to the idea of showing it to the public

Sorry if this is random, but I found you through the Vivsiepop Critical tag, and I noticed a post where you mentioned something about Viv being like "Glitched Puppet"

Glitchedpuppet is an artist who got their start on DeviantArt, ran a Pokemon group and then a webcomic (one SFW, one NSFW), and like Vivzie, seemed to have everything going for them. They were friends with at least a couple of people in the industry, did guest comics, had merchandising runs. Personality-wise they were very similar to Vivzie, deeply allergic to criticism, but people liked their art and their content.

Then it came out that their husband, Marl, tried to groom kids into fucking the family dog on camera.

Glip and their other partner (who had gained some notoriety for saying child porn shouldn't be illegal) defended Marl at every turn, calling the accusers sluts and liars. They defended him until they couldn't anymore, at which point they changed tactics. Glip divorced Marl, moved away with their other partner, and started painting a picture of themselves as Marl's victim, all the while refusing to divulge information that could lead to Marl facing justice. Their merchandising partner pulled out.

Things have devolved over the years, and long story short, Glip's been caught in scandal after scandal (they admitted to having sex with a dog), incriminating lie after incriminating lie. They now spend all of their time on their discord server, an absolute hot bed of pedophiles, where they regularly engage in ritualistic attack sessions on members. It recently came to light that they actually had sex with multiple dogs and let their cat eat them out.

About Vivsiepop's Beelzabub

Lots of drama over Bee's design. My Thoughts:

Beelzabub's design isn't forein. She's a canine character, like the Hellhounds she rules over. She wears knicked tanktop and shorts- Just like Loona and Tex's everyday clothes. She even talks like Loona, which is the best way I can describe at the moment is City-youth culture.

About her colors-- the pink and blue aren't her true colors, those are for the "Cotton Candy" song she sings-- she's wearing cotton candy colors. When bathed in yellow. and when transformed, her clothes turn red and black, her glowy hair turns completely gold. Even her little tuft turns gold.

This Matches with the general colorscheme of the other hellhounds except for the Yellow/gold.

So her design matches other characters.

As for Bee's bug theme:

She's got six, thin, long limbs. Fly wings you can hear flapping around, antenae lashes and ears, and stripes. Which is all a call to the bug theme of Biblical Beelzabub, who may not have been specifically seen as a bee, but at least was a flying bug. Even so, there's no rule saying you HAVE adhere to previous depictions of an entity in a fictional work. You don't, and shouldn't have to know anything about the bible to track who a given character is. Biblical lore can help predict what a character's about, but the show's own writing is what makes and defines the character in that show (Something I get to later).

When it comes to character design basics, Bee's still pretty in-lane, being introduced with an easy-to-recognize silhouette.

When it comes to animation practicality, Bee's base design (clothes, patterns) doesn't seem much harder to animate than these guys.

Even then, Bee's animation is very high quality in this episode, like the animation in the "Truth Seekers" episode or some parts of "The Harvest Moon Festival". They were adding extra details to the animation for fun, not because her design required it. The Honey was globbier than it needed to be, her body movements more fluid and detailed than they needed to be. It was for fun.

They could have definitely animated Bee's honeymane simpler than this, if it were that much of a strain on the animators, and still retained the same design. Plus, there are shortcuts to pulling this off, like animating the basic outline first and having another layer behind it that doesn't follow the outline, but instead is cropped by it. They do this with Stolas' sparkly cape in "Ozzie's".

(Obv, Bee's honey was more hands on, but you can see a similar method used if you watch how the globules move.) They can also animate the lava effect by itself and drag that animation to stay inside the outline, which they seem to do for the lava belly.

Even then. The whole point of this episode was to celebrate the show's success and progress. They did all this out of joy and to have fun. The only thing I'd say could have been concretely "better" only really applies if you approach this as a serious, plot-significant episode (Which it isn't), and that's the writing of the Bee's introduction scene (which was a song that was more to celebrate the show and Spotlight Kesha than providing important context on the characters/setting/themes.)

Other than that, most of the criticism about Bee's design is preference (subjective), expectation (subjective), or an overreaction to furries (Ironically plenty of fans of this show apparently find furries disgusting or lame and saw Bee's design and went "A canine Sin? The Furries are taking over!") (Subjective).

Acting like this is Viv being lazy, uninspired, or unreasonable, is just-- unfair, and unwarranted negativity. People are really acting like this is their work, and not Viv's. Viv didn't do anything technically wrong with Bee's design. It's one thing to not dig it (I personally still haven't warmed up to Ozzy's, and prolly never will, but I warmed up to Bee's a lot faster- especially after seeing her personality) it's another to try to shit on the creator or act like their designs are "wrong" because of expectations or personal taste, ESPECIALLY for an episode that isn't plot relevant and was made to celebrate real-world things like Viv's success in producing her own show and being able to work with Kesha.

Chill the fuck out, and kudo's to the team.

-my nifty backstory is a bit less fleshed out so stay with me here

-she was an aspiring science fiction writer born in japan late 1940's

-unfortunatly she never got to live out her dream as she was married off into a mafia family at 15

-this may have been the mafia family angel dust belonged to ☺️

-neither of them know this☺️☺️

-from then on she was whitewashed and essentially brainwashed into the perfect housewife

-if she disobeyed she got hit, so she did what she was told- until one day it got too much for her. she snapped, and murdered her husband in her sleep

-this got her sent into a mental asylum where she got diagnosed with hysteria and lobotomised

-she died soon after

-despite the murder reasonably being in self defence, murder is still classified as a Damning Sin in heaven's eyes and she got sent down to hell

-she is obsessed with neatness and incredibly hardworking. she will often work herself to the point of exhaustion, in which case alastor will step in and communicate her worries for her - she never complains, doing so makes her feel useless

-her obsessive tidying has led to finding loads of Banned Objects in guest's rooms

-she is the hotel's maid, chef, waitress, gardener, pest control, room attendant and accountant. they are severely understaffed

-alastor is her best and only friend. he is the only one that listens to her odd ramblings (speaking of odd ramblings, the stuff she says would be less "i like to kill bugs murder death X3" and more,, just odd facts and weird sayings and fucked up things that happened in her life but like,, sugarcoated. like shes trying to convince herself that they were good-kinda like kitty from ghosts abt her sister). she spies for him, it is pretty easy for her to go unnoticed due to her small stature. nothing goes unheard that alastor doesnt hear about

-her and alastor sometimes just go for walks together, with her perched on his arm like a falcon. i imagine a side plot of an episode being them taking one of their walks when they come across a sinner trying to move out of the pride ring, they try to help him hijinks ensue ect ect

-she isnt in it for the money, which is good bc shes not paid much

-made an indecent living as a minor overlord by cheating at Soul Poker™ (poker but you gamble your soul)

-eventually people found out he cheated and they got Angry so he turned to alastor, who promised that these people would forget all about his lies if he gave alastor his soul

-on a very tight leash, he rarely gets time away from alastor and has to deal with him breathing down his neck at all times

-technically his henchman

-bonds with nifty over working at the hotel and having to deal with alastor and they gain a kinda father-daughter relationship
