The most surprising thing about the Voltron news is the complete and utter lack of reaction from any of the BNFs who were around at the time, on the platform where the fandom was largely birthed from.
the only post I found with more than 100 notes was understandably more concerned about She-Ra 's fate after May 2026.
I don't even got nothing to say really except that it truly makes you think

A lot of forces contributed to this separation, but what I really want to know is why people wanted Keith and Lance to kiss badly enough to help make this happen. Sure, they're cute, but at what cost?
tbh shoutout to the over 40s on tumblr, sorry the internet acts like yall belong in the retirement home when ur literally just regular adults with hobbies

If anyone here could name a more toxic and gleefully abusive fandom than OFMD fans I’d be shocked. They really do make Voltron look…okay not sane but still! I would say OFMD and Voltron are the worst two I’ve witnessed. And I guess Genshin too but they are mostly teens on TikTok so they hopefully have room to grow. OFMD was a group of whole adults that went full Moms for Liberty on a newly out queer actor for playing a character they hated. Just the worst kinds of homophobia and not to mention using anti racism smokescreen to be actively racist to black and indigenous fans they disagreed with. And they were doing it at the direction of a white guy pretending he was black! What a timeline.
--
I don't think OFMD is particularly worse than parts of Old Guard or the stories I've heard about that one drama llama from Phantom of the Opera or HIVliving or...
Racefaking is usually at the center of this type of brouhaha, though sometimes, it's just a self-appointed spokesperson for Morally Correct Art. The talking points about which ship or which dynamic is eeeevil are always the same, even when it's TJLC idiots wailing that putting the wrong middle aged white guy on top is pedo. The dynamics of clout-chasing and cults of personality around BNFs are always the same. The wank hitting the people with the least real world power the hardest is always the same. The Traitor To The Cause bilge is always the same, whether it's directed at nonwhite fans or at women.
This isn't just one anomalous wanker: it's a common pattern that fandom falls into by being extremely clueless about varied experiences on the one hand and intensely conflict averse until it's a literal call to action to harass someone out of fandom on the other.

How the members of Voltron wank (Lance, Keith and Hunk)
Tumblr media
(I am super British and have horrible spelling🥀)
If this dose good I can try and make a part 2!
Please make request guys!!!
Smut
Lance
Tumblr media
Lance is a SUPER vocal. Keith has frequently pounded on the door to lance’s room at 2 am because he got woken up by lance’s moans. The others occasionally also have to listen to lance’s ‘nightly activities’ and just have to deal with it because they know there isn’t a point in telling him to knock it off.
Lance has the lebido (sex drive) of a bull. He can and will self pleasure for multiple hours a night.
His most sensitive parts are his inner thighs, top of his dick and his nipples. Like the slightest touch can get him going.
He uses two hands to wank. One stroking his dick and the other hand pinching one of his nipples.
Keeps stroking his cock after he cums so he can ride out his orgasm.
Keith
Tumblr media
Pretty vanilla
Keith doesn't really get horny, he only masturbates to blow off steam.
Not as vocal as Lance but dose still make a little noise. Heavy breathing as he gets close and lets out a small grunt as he cums.
He prefers weaning in the shower, the warm water racing down his body, his hair slicked back, the water muffling his sounds and best of all easy clean up.
There is an added factor of risk but he will never admit to secretly loving it.
Hunk
Tumblr media
Super vanilla
Rarely touches himself but dose get horny more often than Keith.
Hunk is the kind of guy to just take a cold shower when he's hard.
When he dose wank he uses one hand to stroke his shaft and the other to stimulate is balls.
Prefers to do it in his bedroom over anyway else.
Doesn't think about anyone specific when he masturbates.
Is more vocal then Keith but not as no were near as vocal as Lance. Whimpers a lot

Man, children's (as in, target audience is not adults) media fandoms attract the most weird discourse over the most benign shit. I can't get into them, despite wanting to cause of the fandom bullshit. Kudos to you for surviving that and writing for them, could not be me
YO. i have SO much to say about this.
listen. i, like many of you, was a child once. i remember how very Vital everything felt, and even looking back at media that was once very important to me at crucial ages--PnF, gravity falls, etc--i sort of get it. the emotionality is on a slightly different level than fandoms i came into as an adult, such as House, Hannibal, etc.
BUT. the other thing i have on my side as an adult is that i 1. stand by everything i do, 2. I live and let live (unless you fuck w me, and even then i defend your right to fuck w me), and 3. if i cared what the peanut gallery thought, i would not be posting.
i was soured on fandom for a rly long time because i was here during peak Voltron/SU mania in the early-mid 2010s. i learned better by ending up in a fandom very heavily populated by older young adults + middle-aged folks, not that that precludes petty drama and shipping wars, but the development of a strong center of balance, shall we say, vis-a-vis fandom wank is the reason i'm still here not giving a fuck.
it's inevitable that i'll end up in some stupid shit over a few ideas i have in the pipeline. which is why it's especially hilarious and baffling to me that anytime i end up getting true and proper nonsense aimed my way, it's over, like...total non-issues, rather than, uh, the multiple non-con fics i've published.
i'm not gonna go on at length about this kid because you get from your online experience what you put into it. but i do think it helps people who might be in that uncertain spot i once was in to see, from time to time, that if someone's just getting you fundamentally wrong, it's okay to go ?????? with a jury of your more sensible peers.

So these days it feels like I spend more time calling out bad behavior in the pro-fic/pro-ship community (as well as ragging on "neutrals") than I do about openly anti-profic fancops. And that wording is deliberate, because the reason I'm yelling about other "pro-fiction" people so often is on the grounds that so many miss the plot and aren't pro-fiction at all.
And I realized there's a very harrowing and humbling reason for that. Aside from the fact that people who are willing to identify with pro-ship or pro-fiction are more willing to listen than someone who's expressly against it (making it more productive to reason with misguided proshippers than fancops), the main issue here is that the initial fandom drama that resulted in the term "pro-ship" is now ten years behind us.
I was 18 and freshly out of high school. I'm 28 now and I've been done and out of university for almost six years. That's how fucking long it's been.
While a lot of us who were there when the deep magic was written are still around, there's also a ton of people identifying with the labels who are so far removed from the original context of those terms, that they're using them for themselves without even knowing what they mean. We have people saying "I'm pro-ship but ONLY for the ships that aren't illegal! uwu" and "I'm pro-fiction but um if you like RWBY you're literally braindead /srs" not realizing that this is entirely antithetical to what those terms were made to represent, and regardless of how fancops try to redefine the terms, they have not stopped meaning the same thing they meant when they were conceived.
It's sad but at this point it feels like it's MORE necessary for those of us who were around during the Voltron fandom wank to keep reminding younger folks in the community (and I use "younger" broadly, because if you are 18-20 years old now then odds are you were not around on social media for the Voltron wank) that these terms do have meaning, and that if you aren't prepared to take on the weight of that meaning, then just don't. It's a headache to deal with.

Do you think the fandom could survive another type of 3H like discussion ?
Fandom is much more malleable than you're giving it credit for. The only instances I can think of one outright dying came from a TV show ending in a way that almost everyone hated, ex. the Netflix Voltron, or Game of Thrones. That's unlikely to happen with an ongoing game series, especially if future entries stir up a bunch of controversy and wank.

I'm a fandom old.
I just left this comment on a Reddit post. Thought I'd drop it here. Just to have extra access to it.
I've been around the block in fandom. There's always been holier-than-thou types, but they were... tamer.
I started on the peripheries of fandom in the late 90s, and then I was in a fandom that didn't have fanworks. I got involved, fully, properly, at 18 years old, in 2000, in the Due South fandom. I have the very distinct honour of being the reason a separate mailing list, "Due South After Dark", had to be created. I wrote a fic that involved either handcuffs or a blindfold. Some people were SO OFFENDED by this tiny bit of mild kink that it caused an uproar.
But it was kind of just pearl clutching. I wasn't called a monster or suicide baited or anything like that. In fact, a lot of the offended parties didn't even talk directly to me, just around me and about the fic itself.
And that's the flavour that sort of stuck with a lot of fandom drama for years. The shipping wars of the early 2000s were shockingly tame, and there was also a lot of--to use an antiquated term--wank about slash shippers; the first time I saw the "fetishisation" accusations dating back all the way to the early/mid 2000s.
I do remember that there was a small contingent of Harry/Hermione shippers who accused Hermione/Ron shippers of liking "abuse" because Hermione and Ron bickered (not unlike Han and Leia or Elizabeth and Darcy). One of the big things is that a lot of this was not actually targeted. It was people pontificating on their LiveJournals without calling out anyone by name. Not that there wasn't a lot of arguments In the Comments(tm) and whatnot.
The first time I ever saw the term "SJW" was actually in fandom, some years before I started seeing it in "mainstream" online discourse. It was in the late 2000s, and it was used by left-leaning fanpeople against other left-leaning fanpeople. Right or wrong, it was a term levied against a certain type of, and I'm not going to beat around the bush, middle-class white woman in her late 20s and older. To be clear: fandom, especially when involving middle-class white women, has long had problems with racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc. But this specific type of fan, the "SJW" type, held to their convictions so hard they would drive people out of fandom. This is when things started to get targeted. When individual fans would get called out not for behaviour (eg, MsScribe, Victoria Bitter) but for what they made. For their fic. One young person who wrote a thoroughly misguided SPN AU (I don't remember if it was RPF or FPF--she wrote the characters as aid workers in maybe Haiti?) was driven out of fandom over that one fic; there was no atoning for it. There was no ability to learn why she shouldn't have written it. She was just a monster.
I can see these threads all converging and leading to, for instance, the Voltron: Legendary Defender shipping nonsense and the demonisation of one pairing over the other on moral grounds. I can see it coming from the Due South ladies who were offended by handcuffs and/or a blindfold, from the Harry/Hermione shippers saying that Hermione/Ron shippers were okay with abuse, from the specific callouts by white women towards people who wrote things unthinkingly and out of ignorance without having the opportunity to make amends for their grievous misdeeds in fic.
I can see how it leads to this thing, where we have people telling folks to kill themselves because they like a pairing with a 5-year age gap. Saying it's immoral to ship two characters because one of them is "autistic-coded" and therefore a child even though the character is in their 20s, it doesn't matter, that's pedophilia somehow (hey, Critical Role fans). Painting people as monsters because of a video game where the main characters commit murder and cannibalism and incest and it's not the first two things that are a problem.
The antis make everyone out to just be monsters, even the people who don't even like the taboo and dark fics, they just don't believe in censorship, harassment, suicide baiting, etc, over fucking fanfic. It's become "with us or against us". It's... terrifying. Especially because it's targeted against oftentimes vulnerable people who don't have, say, studios and publishers and tons of money to keep them safe. They go after, y'know, AstarionsGirl292 and not George R R fucking Martin. Well, I think they went after Tamsyn Muir? But she ain't GRRM, is she?
It's a helpless feeling, seeing fandom get to this point. But I can untangle it. And it sucks.

PREACH! When I first started shipping none of the people in that fandom thought the ship would *ever* become real. And honestly it's crazy weird that people think a lot of the ships will become canon.
And the entitlement some people feel over a show and what the creators do is unreal.
I really liked Voltron when it first aired, but after the disgusting way fans treated each other and the creators I couldn't engage anymore.
It is like 95% positive your ship won't become canon (she-ra changed my mind on it being 100% to not become canon tbh)
Your ship is not more valid bc it has a "chance" of becoming canon.
All ships are good. Open up your eyes to multishipping and stop shitting on other fans.
Stop feeling entitled to shows you didn't create. You are sad or angry because you didn't like that something happened or how the show ended?
That is why we have fan fiction. Go change it yourself.
I know I sound like an old lady screaming on my lawn "back in my day!"
And there was still wank and fans hating on each other, but it was not justified by the chance a ship would become "canon".
And it could be my rose colored glasses, or that I wasn't in the right areas of fandom to see it (I was like 16-17 when I moved to LJ for fandom, like peak Stargate Atlantis times) and I didn't find out about the fandom wank community until later and I wasn't active there. But the authors I followed did not do that shit.
And it wasn't as vicious to people who shipped a different pairing. And by and large we had ship and let ship, and your cup of tea might not be my cup of tea. (yes there were other issues, racism in some things that are *still* an issue today, so yes I know it wasn't all fun happy times).
But like I get tired these days, going into discord servers and seeing these arguments about which pairing is more "valid", and people telling other people why their tropes or kinks are "not acceptable" and it just sucks.
Maybe sit down with a fandom old and talk to them. You'll learn some things, and maybe just maybe they could help better current fandom.
i will say, the worst thing that happened in fandom was when shipping just became “i ship this bc it’s gonna be real” and not just “i ship this bc i think it’s a fun dynamic to explore idc what the writers are doing that’s not my business”

I only watched the first season of Good Omens and enjoyed it, but from what I saw of the second season it just looked like filler episodes, doubt the third season is going to be any better.
Also a lot of Good Omens fans are absolute nut jobs, which put me off even more.
Normally I just scroll past fandom drama, but the Good Omens fandom are another level of awful.
I mean, yeah, man, I guess. Feel like you kind of missed the forest for the trees here, but yeah, it’s probably also going to suck balls and be a terrible finale.
And as for the fandom, they really aren’t. Maybe I’ve just been on here too long lmao but they’re the exact same as every other fandom? Every fandom, when it either starts or when it gets new content that attracts a new mass of fans, goes through a growing pains period, and nowadays these are all highly visible because of how interconnected fandom is on social media. Wank and drama that was once isolated to specific chatrooms, blog pages, or forums is now easily found and boosted by social media algorithms to drive enragement and engagement. Which is to say, nothing that’s happened in the Good Omens fandom is notably different. Toxic shipping culture? Already done everywhere else. Disagreements between book and show fans? Happens with every adaptation. A younger fanbase skewing anti? Been happening to most properties appealing to teens and young adults since Voltron was a thing, if not sooner. Even that whole debacle with the ‘season two was bad on purpose’ manifesto isn’t unique. Sherlock fandom pulled the same thing with TJLC, half of Supernatural fandom is still trying to say that the show’s awful writing was secret messages telling them it was queer-positive all along, and that one pirate show fandom went as far as to rent out billboards about it when they were sure that all that was needed to fix a broken show was another season.
They’re not uniquely awful; they’re just new, loud, and highly visible to you right now. That doesn’t make them not annoying, just puts into perspective that this happens, it’ll continue to happen, and the only way you’re ever gonna avoid it completely is to join every fandom at least five to ten years after it’s relevant and the worst of the drama has already moved on. Otherwise, block and live in peace.

I feel bad for everyone who has had bad experience or experienced harassment with f/f. I don’t think any of the behaviour is unique or even significantly more common with femslash though tbh. I’ve heard the voltron horror stories M/M fandom is not immune to any of this
--
Yup. And the battiness of hetshippers, especially those who wanted their ship to go canon, is legendary. Of course, even f/f and m/m have that type of wank these days when it's less unthinkable that they could go canon.
BTW, for people wondering where their ask went, I'm holding back some of the more repetitive femslash asks even when the individual asks are fine. There aren't enough other topics to alternate with, and it's getting boring.

Lance smut alphabet afab reader
Tumblr media
(I have horrible spelling lol)
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Aftercare KING!! Lance offers to help you clean yourself up and you guys just cuddle as he smothers you with kisses until one of you falls asleep.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Lance's favourite part of his body is probably his back/shoulders because he just finds his upper body well sculpted.
Loves your lower body. Thighs, ass and stomach. No matter how big or small let him rest his head on your thighs and then let him eat you out with your thighs clamping down on his head.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
He prefers to either cum inside or on your stomach/chest. The sight of his come dripping out of you gets him ready for another round faster than you can catch your breath back. And seeing his cum on your somatic/chest as you deeply breath in and out
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
When he isn't gonna see you for a while he takes clothes you recently wore. Hoodies, t-shirts, underwear he takes whatever he can get his hands on and you not noticing. He can and will wank to the sent of you. Once he comes back your missing clothes 'magically' reappear on your bed neatly folded with a strong sent of comforter.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
He talks a big game but is really not that experienced having maybe two passed relationships and neither of them being passed second base. Lance has learn the majority of what he knows from sex ed and his older siblings.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
When he has the engird for it his favourite is missionary with one or both of your legs over his shoulders, the position lets him hit just the right spots and the felling of your calves gradually applying more and more presser to his skull as you get closer to edge encourages him to going.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He doesn't take sex as a joke but if something funny happens he is gonna laugh like if one of you farts he will let a giggle the asked if your ready to cary on.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Lance is a smooth as a dolphin because he regularly waxes his whole body.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
He doesn't normally speak Spanish because the others can't understand him but when he's ready to get it on with you, even if you don't understand half the stuff coming out of his mouth, he will almost talk exclusively in Spanish.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
All the time and the rest of Voltron hates him for it.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
BDSM. He loves getting tired up and blind folded while eating you out. He would get on his knees with a blind fold on and a ball gag in his mouth begging you to let him cum as you tease him.
"But chains and whips excite me"
Praise. Tell him how good he makes you feel. From you moaning his name an clenching around him to just calling him "perfect" he loves it all
Pain kink. Not like harm fully stuff but like slapping him hard enough for that whole area to sting.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
He prefers his bedroom but it doesn't really matter because he is okay with fucking you almost anywhere. Even in the Blue Lion.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Small things like wearing his clothes and resting your head on his shoulder can give him a raging hard on. If you go over the top and dress up for him he won't be able to keep his hands off of you.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Stuff that could actually hurt you like weapons and stuff. But paddles and whips are on the tables.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He prefers giving, all you little moans and whimpers are just music to his ears, watching your face contort from the pleasure
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Depends on his mood. Normally he is on the faster side of the scale cause he knows he can hold out for a while but sometime he goes achingly slowly. Taking shallow thrust as his tip kisses your cervix as your walls fluter around him and he gradually picks up pace but still thrusting shallowly and it just makes you come undone in an instance.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
He is always down for a quickie and he can make it Really quick! He knows exactly what can make you weak in the knees and you guys can be in and out before anyone notices you were missing.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Has a slight risk kink. The thought of getting caught is such a major turn on for him the if you guys actually go caught he wouldn't leave his room for days.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
He can last two rounds but those two rounds are LONG. And his recovery time is like 5 minutes, just enough time for him to grad a drink and a protein bar.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
100% On Earth Lance didn't really have a chance to have his own extensive collection but after being sent into space he probably started a collection and argued that ever sex toy he got from a different planet are souvenirs. He regularly walks around with a butt plug in. I can just image him walking around the ship, then finding everyone hanging out and instead of just sitting down he stands in the door way in his rode fully commando and from the slightest movement his plug drops on the floor and everyone just stays in his direction as he kicks it into the hallway before then picking it up and running back to his room.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He loves teasing. Lance would buy sex toys then make you wear them the whole day. You guys would dare each other to see who can last the longest while wearing a vibrator controlled by the other.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
He has the volume of a pornstar. All his little moans and whimpers let you know how good you make him feel. When he gets close all he can say is "Si!" as he fills you.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Lance fr didn't think the clit was a real thing. All the boys he went to school with gaslighted him into thinking it was a myth and he didn't have the best sex ed.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Length> width. Lance has an above average pick that is 6.3 inches long.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Insatiable. Any time, anywhere. Lance just can't keep his hands off of himself.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
After making sure you're taken care off he will pass out. As soon as his head gets placed on the pillow his whole body goes limp.

I don't like weighing in on any sort of discourse beyond just tags, because I am just so tired and Voltron fandom wank killed all my ability to give a fuck about words on the internet like a decade ago now,
But seriously what owner of tumblr would expect to not get hated by the site? This is the anti-authority website. This is the website where everyone hates authority. We do not like authority or ownership here. Like. It's part of the experience, alongside being annoyed by other people not getting it, and people being unbelievably horny for the profane or monstrous.
