Throwback Thursday/obligatory salon chair comparison! The girl on the left knew this new life would come. It’s why she took the picture, but actually living it is beyond what I imagined back then. Life’s freaking good!! I haven’t really talked about dating on here, but I’m going to start sprinkling it in here and there because it’s fun for me now. I don’t worry about things I used to and it feels good! I say that because I’m about to go on a first date with a guy. It’s not my first date post-op, I’ve dated off and on since surgery and lemme tell ya, I have some storiesssss 🤣 but the first date has typically been grabbing drinks and then doing something. This is my first dinner first date and it will be interesting. I don’t bring up the weight loss/surgery thing until it gets brought up naturally when dating, definitely not a first date thing for me. But, I don’t want him to question my leftovers🤣 I’m not going to bring it up, but it’s the only thing I’m nervous about 💀I’ll keep y’all updated though. Let’s talk about self care. A while back I wrote a book, in it I mentioned the oxygen mask analogy: if you ever traveled on a plane and was bored enough to pay attention to the safety presentation you’ll remember the flight attendant mentioning: In the event the shit hits the fan and oxygen masks deploy YOU MUST make sure your mask is secured before you help others. Even your loved ones next to you!! WHY? Because you can’t help them if you’re knocked out. (I’m paraphrasing the in-flight lesson; however I think you’ll agree my way would get more attention.) on the ground we rarely take the time to make sure we are breathing first. We put others first and we very rarely make / take sacrifices for our own wellness. That’s NOT healthy. There’s no moral justification to this either because again.... you can’t help someone when you’re knocked out.
