love how user @vyathacov made a guitarist sasaki post and that has been the literal highlight of my uneventful day BECAUSE GUITARIST SASAKI CAN LITERALLY RUN TO BE THE PRESIDENT AND I WOULD GLADLY SUPPORT IT and now i know that japan is considered a constitutional monarchy and presidents don't really have the power and i don't even live in japan and sasaki is a fictional character and i suck at political science and this joke is unfunny and overused and this post is irrelevant but PLS DRUMMER SASAKI OHMYGOD

It's almost time for the first chapter of my most extensive fic yet! After starting it in early October when I was watching the full moon in the country, every bit of it has been beta-read by the amazing @persona4fantasy and it features some of @vyathacov's poetry. I hope my readers like it as much as I do!

This is a story of life and death. Of heroism and sacrifice. Of hope in the face of insurmountable evil.

Most of all, this is a story of longing and devotion that began with the first dawn.

1. Are you named after anyone?

if we’re talking real person name then no. if we’re talking dirtbrain name then also no, unless you count a joke from 50% off, which I do not. I like both names just fine though

2. When was the last time you cried?

I was shedding tears over silly things last night if that counts. real big emotion crying I don’t remember actually how long ago, but probably not very. I’m a crybaby I cry all the time

3. Do you have kids? / recommend a song?

got apollo justice on the brain and in the membrane so Solitary Confinement - Darkness Theme. for when you’re feeling nefarious and willing to take all of your many secrets to the fucking grave

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

well. yes. way way more when I was younger but I think it still makes up like a sizable fraction of my speech. I do think I’m a little less of an asshole now though

5. What sports do you play/have played?

Ha ha. ah. I did ballet and other dance for a spell when I was a kid but unfortunately didn’t keep that up, but I was generally pretty fast and halfway athletic then too. didn’t do sports after that unless you. unless you want to count marching band, which I wouldn’t because we were pretty lax about it. like marching band can be very impressive and deeply deeply athletic but ours was not, which was fine because I got sick and fucked up for a while anyway. and I’m not doing any sports now in college, but if it doesn’t get cancelled* then I’ll be doing table tennis this next semester. Guess why

*several similar classes I’ve signed up for previously have gotten cancelled. massive bummer

6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I guess from afar how tall someone is. up close more just expression, try to get a read on how they’re feeling and so on

7. Eye color?

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

I think. I can probably count on one hand the amount of horror movies I’ve watched. but then again I’m not much of a movies guy to begin with. so happy endings

9. Any special talents?

ahhhh I can clap with one hand with both hands. like both hands can clap without the other. I have gotten weird looks for this

10. Where were you born / what made you make a tumblr account?

a hospital that is not in the united states :) / my sister made one and the younger sibling follower gene compelled me to do so also. and that was. maybe 9 years ago. 2014 ish. I should be clear that I was not old enough to be making an account, or on the internet in general probably, and this is definitely a big contributor to the various things wrong with me

11. What are your hobbies?

video game slash reading slash talking to myself slash writing slash watching things when I can get myself to. I don’t leave the house. occasionally I will get into a big crossword and word search phase. I almost forgot photography That would’ve been silly

12. Do you have any pets?

two of them! a cat and dog we all collectively call them the kids even though dogs an old man. he is a human person with anxiety. cat is more dog than dog, who is as we just established a human person. they both get a photo with dramatic lighting

5’6” last I checked

14. Favorite subject in school?

when there was a good teacher then anything english adjacent. specifically with a focus on literature. otherwise. band. actually I lied the real answer is essentially always band

15. Dream job?

I don’t . have one. I know what I’m aiming for and I’m really pretty sure I’ll enjoy it but I think if we’re talking dreams like ‘I don’t have back problems nor the stamina of a grandparent’ then I’d do odd jobs I think. I’d probably be content picking up trash

If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

It's not often I use song lyrics but this year I did for chapter 3 here for "Green Flames, White Fur".

The chapter is inspired by Kehlani's Honey. And I got some cute, amazing fanart to go with it by @vyathacov ! When I saw I almost cried... or I did. XD

What's WIP are you taking into next year with you?

To name a few "Tragedy Wives" and "THERE IS NO RATIONAL EXPLANATION FOR THIS". The original plan for the first fic was to finish it by Halloween but that didn't happen. I'm not ultimately disappointed though. Honestly, I felt like it would be a fic I would have rushed on and I hate that.

Your favorite character to write this year?

Like I can choose one! I really like writing for Miruko and Midoriya. With Miruko, it's about exploring more than what she's seen as first glance in canon. Not saying my interpretation of her is better than anyone else's though. Hell, I don't even expect for people to like how I write her. It's more so... just giving her more. I guess it comes from her being my favorite character overall.

Midoriya is also a favorite, tied with Miruko. He's probably the easiest BNHA character to write because our personalities are similar.

A surprise though for me is Iida and Bakugou. I don't think I'll ever get both characters down, but how I write for them isn't bad. I enjoy writing them, too.

For Iida, it's keeping embracing more of his lesser known traits. Often in fics, he's written as so stricken with rules and having no fun. In my fics, he does still have that leader role, he's still "by the book". However, he has a little sass to him, cracks joke. He does have fun.

For Bakugou, he is definitely a challenge, but I have fun with it. Sometimes, I feel like I don't capture that aura of his, but I like trying new things. A lot of his lines in my fics do be my favorites.

Which work has the most comments?

I am honestly shook that it's "Beware of the Bunnies". I know I say it a lot, but I'm surprised I got more feedback than expected for that fic. Hell, at a time I didn't think people would touch it.

After that, a fic that started this year, is "THERE IS NO RATIONAL EXPLANATION FOR THIS".

Civilian AU Spinneraki Headcanons ~

I love au's where Tenko gets found by All Might before AFO gets to him, so I'd like to say that's what happened here

but after living with Toshinori for a few years, it's clear that Tenko doesn't want to be a hero himself, for many reasons

Spinner just lives a normal life, mostly, but still has issues with getting discriminated towards for his quirk

the two of them meet when they start going to the same college, where they're both studying computer science

at first they don't really talk much, both of them sticks to themselves a lot, but Spinner is low-key already having a crush lol

then they get paired up for a project and Spinner tells himself that this is it!!!

but my god, Tenko is so oblivious and hard to talk to, and he only ever wants to talk about computers and school stuff

until they sort of randomly gets into talking about gaming, and suddenly Tenko is very interested in talking!

they do disagree on a lot of things, but at least they're talking for real!!

and before they are parting ways for the night, they've agreed to meet some other day, just to game and chill

it ends up not being chill at all, rather very competitive and loud, but... it's fun, and real

it takes a while (and a very, very awkward conversation with Toshinori) for Tenko to even realize that he's having... feelings...

after they get together tho, everything suddenly seems stupidly clear in hindsight lmao

they're very much that couple who falls into a routine right away

Tenko only has a couple of friends, but they all like Spinner right away

Touya swears he likes Spinner more than Tenko, actually

the only huge surprise in their relationship was Spinner finding out that Tenko's "annoying ass Uncle" is All Might?!?!??!?!

🎁 Hmm... okay, so I haven't started the story, but I do have an idea for a short side fic for the "Beware of the Bunnies" AU. It involves the infamous "Katsuki wakes up in the hospital and freaks out about Izuku" scene. I have an idea to add Miruko's POV on the whole situation.

🏷 Whatever I'm in the mood for! I'm not too picky about tags. Lately though, I've been into reading fluff or fics where the characters are protective.

Okay, there are a lot of glorious scenes I think back on that I wish I could draw myself.
