Worst Video Game Song Tournament - Round 1 Match 23
Drawbridge Dilemma - WarioWare: Get It Together!
youtube
VERSUS
Fight Theme 1 - Omikron: The Nomad Soul
youtube
FIGHT!
I would recommend listening to as much as you can of each song before voting, but how you choose is up to you! Remember to be civil in the tags and replies!
Propaganda under cut:
Drawbridge Dilemma:
"idk it appears at the most unfair boss stage of the game (or at least one of them. the most unfair one is Ashley's)"
Fight Theme 1:
"this one is often forgotten and it sucks so bad 😭"
"Anyone who used to watch Super Best Friends will be deeply familiar with this song. It's almost normal for a while... until the actual vocals kick in. I especially appreciate how the song seems to literally fall apart towards the end."
Feel free to add more propaganda in the tags and replies, or send it to me in the ask box and I'll try to share it as soon as I can!

May i suggest the lion kid from warioware get it together i forgot his name/j for the ask game?
Send Me a Character!
(YES I'M STILL DOING THIS LATE)
Tumblr media
First impression
Who's this punk???
Honestly he kinda flew past me cuz my first playthrough of GiT was at a party and casual players don't sit around for the cutscenes. I know cuz...I was a casual warioware fan once...soon I'll return to being that...maybe...gasp...
Impression now
...Honestly I don't know...I mean he got plot potential...like bullying the twins, having a one sided crush on Ana that he struggles with (hc, think spyxfamily anya and damien), maybe villainous team ups, or just him being a brat around the other characters...
But I don't know...I'm fumbling with him. Let's just say I think he's a lot more popular than what others claim.
Favorite moment
Tumblr media
I don't know when or how this thing happens but:
Them fightin' girlies.
Idea for a story
Really need to sit down and write one of those times where Leo is a bully to the twins, moreso Ana cuz of the after-mentioned crush. Like idk...Ana has an oopsy and Leo insults her for it, the Kat kicks his ass. Nah they'd have a struggle, we ain't dissing Leo's strength here. We just know that it feels like Kat prefers being the only one who can make fun of Ana.
Unpopular opinion
Again, I don't think he's underrated. A bit ignored by the general population, kinda, but the vocal part of the WarioWare community adores him the last time I heard from them. And I've been trying to keep my distance. help me.
Favorite relationship
It bears repeating I love the potential conflicts he has with the twins. While I do think some of the other kid ninjas don't think highly of the twins, Leo is like...the epitome of this idea. But I can only say canonically I love his rivalry with Kat. I'm just making up his crush on Ana, but it's a concept I like.
Favorite headcanon
Tumblr media
I'm just making this up just now cuz I realize the color similarities but what if he was one of those yellow-clad ninjas led by Ana? I headcanon those guys to not view highly of Ana cuz she got knocked out fast after their asses were handed to them, plus her timid nature...and that the grown ups praise the twins for being so young and talented. Why do I imagine bullying among kids, I am so cruel, oh my gosh...sorry I rambled.
Anyways, beyond that "pulled out of my ass" idea and the crushy blushy one sided terrors that happens cuz Leo can't figure out his emotions, I like thinking he's a lil bro to Vanessa. They spat a lot :3 He feels like a mini Dinosaur to me.
ALSO ALSO, he looks better with darker skin. Stop making him pasty pale Intelligent System. Ko had envisioned him with dark skin >:0 If Daisy can change complexions, then he should be able to too.

Cicada has come a long way.
Started as Young Cricket's partner for his Rhythm Heaven guest appearance, before we even knew that was him.
Then we got confirmation it was him, leading her to cameo in his Gold character trailer and GiT proper.
And now she's in Move It, with a name and dialogue, fully cemented as part of the WarioWare series now.

This is October is #Waretober!
Day 1&2: Favorite character
I'm gonna do a rapid fire of my old WarioWare art (that has never been posted here!) with some new stuff sprinkled here and there if school doesn't affect my schedule and mental health too much...
First up, some of my first pieces I made on my pc and graphic tablet back in summer of 2022 featuring... the Gamer Boi, 9-Volt! (who would've guessed?)
I tried my best at emulating the official art styles of Get It Together! (Ko Takeuchi's classic vector and personal sketchy Character Gallery watercolor drawings)
But the main reason for me to make these was to showcase 9-Volt's pocket and V-signing in action! (why no official depictions of the boi exist doing this gesture? It makes SO much sense)
And I also wanted to include Fronk in my new GiT render since my pipe dream for the game was devs adding dlc with new characters and Fronk would join his 'owner' after a small extra campaign with new levels to form a duo and help 9-Volt turn around and hop in the air a bit
(don't ask why, in my headcannon Fronks, like the Pokémon Porygon, are living computer bugs able to shift between pure data and a plasticy body with no bones and organs, they can change their size at will and stick to any surface

And now, a Warioware get it together meme
Wario: has a Jetpack and can bash things
Mona: Rides on a scooter and uses a boomerang
Jimmy T.:
Tumblr media
(Get it? Because both Jimmy and Killer Bean has the same voice actor, Vegas E. Trip! And because in GiT, Jimmy’s ability is just launching himself into the air and you aim it)

1 4 and 15 😊😊😁
1. What WarioWare games have you played? (And do you have favourites?)
I've played Mega Microgame$, Touched, Smooth Moves, D.I.Y, Gold, Get it Together and Move It!
I own Game & Wario, I just need to find my gamepad charger to finally play it. And I'm currently searching for physical copies of Mega Party Game$ & Twisted to go on my Wario shelf!
I think Get it Together & Move It are my current favourites - I love the gameplay of GiT, but the cutscenes & storyline for Move It are my favourite (the gameplay for MI can be very tiring for me since I suffer from chronic pains - so I find it harder to pick up & play than GiT)
4. Do you have any personal headcanons or interpretations of the characters? (In relation to design, hobbies, connections to other characters, etc)
Ohhh boy, do I! I'll mainly keep it to general headcanons I have and only to 2-3 per character, also not doing EVERY character in this since if I delve too far into it it'll be a whole essay. Most of these hcs are for canon and Diverged, btw.
(If someone wants me to share more or hear about the others, just ask me this question again! Or ask about a character directly)
Wario speaks german fluently, and was born & raised on a farm. Often crashed at Jimmy's house when they were kids/teenagers
Lulu owns a dog, and stays with Mona when she's visiting.
Cricket has social anxiety, and works part time as a waiter when he's older
Mona runs the company's social media accounts, and she sees Ashley and Lulu as little sisters to her
Ashley has solar urticaria (allergic to sunlight) and the stuffed bunny she owns, she's had since she was born
Crygor is disabled, having prosthetics for his left arm & right leg (I don't see them as power gloves n stuff. They've always been prostheses to me) - he has autism & adhd, and his dancing are a type of stim
(Not gonna say it for the rest of the Crygor family, but they're all neurodivergent to mee + quite a few of the others. Like Orbulon-)
Mike falls asleep cuddling his microphones, he has a phobia of insects and he idolises Jimmy
Orbulon is an artist - uses painting & sketching to connect further with human culture. His species speaks telepathically which is why he struggles so much with talking verbally, and he has a fear of yelling/conflict
15. If you've played Gold, which microgame type is your favourite? (Mash, twist or touch)
Touch! I have a faster reaction time visually. I have a score of 100+ on Orby's level in that game

What started as a strategic discussion ended up with thoughts about Lulu.
Cricket has changed a lot since the last time that the outside has heard from him:
---------------
Cricket (DG): "I just thought that by talking to Mona, I'd see if there was a way to get through to [J (my friend)] a bit more, seeing as though they're the same personality type. Or at least just to know what we're working with. And... I forgot to mention; we bumped into 18-Volt on the streets, so he came with us too".
Me: "You don't sound too keen about the idea of 18-Volt".
Cricket (DG): "Well he is annoying, and we do have our differences, but I guess we both know you really well now and that's an interest that he and I share in common. Plus I guess it's admirable for you to call my judgments out, just like you tell your father to respect [G] even though he doesn't agree with him...".
Me: "That does beg the question; would you attempt to make it up with Lulu as it were?".
Cricket (DG): "Uhh... I'm not too sure if I'd be comfortable doing that? I just think the age difference is not very appropriate; and with how young she is, she doesn't understand that herself. It's like the situation with you and [A]. See Lulu has some sort of heightened attachment to me, so even if I give her just a bit of myself, she'll take it all the way to a hundred. And I just can't handle that".
Me: "How about to make peace with her more for yourself? Like for the sake of your soul so to speak".
Cricket (DG): "I get it. To make amends with those who I've hurt through my weaknesses. My point still stands that she's not mature enough to respect boundaries yet. So I don't want to let her in on everything about myself. But I certainly have no problem being friendly to her within Warioware as a whole, or at least in a controlled environment where someone can pull her in a bit or just be there with us".
Me: "That makes sense. Like to make it nothing more than an informal relationship".
Cricket (DG): "Precisely!".
Me: "My question is, then, what do you do to clear your conscience for the Illumination ... ?".
Cricket (DG): "Oh gosh that's a hard one. I could always take it to RE class with Mrs. McGraw and write a prayer to be forgiven as it were. And then maybe going forward, I'm simply not as rough with Lulu and try to be more straightforward with her if I need to. Spending time with you has certainly helped me work on my patience as well as the fact that it's okay to be honest sometimes and tell someone the truth. It's just that confidence that I need to exude within myself all while being humble at the same time".
Me: "And maybe when Lulu sees a difference in you, she might back off. Remember that your insecurities are the gateway to repeated suffering. Heck she might even be shocked and put off by the change, and that you're no longer any fun to mess with".
Cricket (DG): "Heh, that would be interesting to say the least, but perhaps a little scary for me too".
Me: "Because you're used to the trauma loop".
---
Extra trivia: Cricket AND 18-Volt were both supposed to my Warioware dream guides way before WW-GiT came out... So how on Earth did my soul predict that WW-GiT intro sequence? 🤯
Cricket was actually supposed to be the first dream guide, but I didn't have the maturity (/compass drive) to connect with him before 2020.
So I moved on to Jimmy T as my second choice, BUT! Somehow during Warioware Gold, I got his graphics confused with 18-Volt's, and that's how it started off with 18-Volt in 2018. By the time I realised it was 18-Volt and not Jimmy, it was too late 😅.
Cricket was forgone and I actually interacted with him the least, if not 'zero', in 18-Volt's time of dominance. But somehow in mid-2024, Cricket was sent to me by Master Mantis 😳 and now the blue Kung Fu boy is dominant today.
Summary: The original blueprint was Cricket and Jimmy. I got Cricket and 18-Volt. The WW-GiT blueprint is Cricket and 18-Volt.
---
1. Cricket supposed to enter at WWG release.
2. Silence (crickets) -> 2nd choice transferred to Jimmy T.
3. I confused Jimmy T as 18-Volt.
4. Contract initiated with 18-Volt = too late.
5. Relationship with 18-Volt developed from 2018 to 2020.
6. After 2020, stressful situations required more mature dream guides. Didn't think I'd hear from Warioware again after 18-Volt became jealous and dropped.
7. Cricket came out of nowhere in 2024; not until 2025 that relationship was recognised and amended. Return to 'karmic/ōriginal' DG.
8. Now that Warioware has influence again, 18-Volt contributes at times as an aid to Cricket.
Perhaps the time delay was needed or Cricket would never agree to being a DG. His master was observing me all this time, since the entrance 18-Volt (and therefore the Warioware community).
---
The WW-GiT sequence was imprinted when 18-Volt erroneously signed instead of Jimmy.

A new WarioWare has come out and I got enough playtime in to feel comfortable talking about it in full, so I’ll do just that.
Right off the bat I can say in short: this is a good game and a good WarioWare. Not up there with my favs, but it does a lot right. My experience did end up quite differently than anticipated and I’ll explain why soon enough.
First I want to talk about the presentation, which I think is an easy high point. Everything is vibrant and colorful, the art keeps showing the strengths of the current style and everything feels very much like it should. Microgames run that perfect mix of genuinely nice looking and deliberately cursed and the cutscenes are the best of both worlds, being smooth and lively, while returning to Gold’s full voice acting.
Speaking of cutscenes, that brings us to the story related stuff and that’s where the game shows some interesting tricks up its sleeves. In terms of structure it’s a return to the pre-Gold era, with the closest to an overarching theme being the vacation set-up.
I do think the Ware crew is in top form, likable, fun and full of life as always and two stories in particular even do something major.
Kat and Ana’s story marks the shocking return of Cractus, bringing a Wario Land character into WarioWare and Young Cricket’s story sees his Kung-Fu Ball partner finally brought into WarioWare properly. Both of those are really massive and show a willingness to more heavily utilize elements from other parts of the verse, which I find incredibly exciting.
Oddly enough, the weaker link of the story for me this time is Wario himself. Now don’t get me wrong, everything that happens here is usual Wario antics and I do like how non–english versions of the script like japanese and german, have him be actually be nice about bringing the others along. His confusion at the Crygor drawings and later ascending to godhood, with the cast roll confirming he got a happy end, are all good too, plenty of nice stuff here.
He just feels weirdly absent here. Having no presence in the Remix stages, no bonus mode in his image and even the final stage has him stuck being cursed to have his face be the avatar of an angry volcano. It doesn’t really feel like Wario and ends with him being the only one of the cast with no moment to shine during the climax, which I can’t help but find a little disappointing.
Still, it’s not a big deal, after so many games Wario taking a slight backseat isn’t a dealbreaker, it just stood out a little.
Moving away from that, there is the audio side of things. The music as usual is full of unapologetically catchy jingles and some major stand-out tracks such as MegaGame Muscles and the Form Guide theme.
We got full voice acting again and with it our first taste of Kevin Afghani as Wario. Pre-release stuff had me very on and off with how I felt about it, but having heard all of him in the game: yeah, I like him! He does have some wonky deliveries, but the overall voice still feels like Wario and has its own fun appeal. Certainly more noticeably different than Mario and Luigi, but I am optimistic Kevin will greatly grow into the role, as he gets to play him more and more.
Then we get to the big one, the gameplay and this is where I was thrown for a loop the most. With this being a direct Smooth Moves successor I thought I’d know what to expect, but was quite caught off-guard in many places.
This surprisingly ended up being the most difficult WarioWare for me by a long-shot, enough that I actually had to take advantage of the second chance mechanic, which I never had to do in Gold and GiT.
If I had to sum the game up in one word, it would be demanding, Wario commanding you to move it is not just a funny title, it’s the name of the game.
With the Wiimote, you could get away with just sorta doing the poses in a lot of cases, but Move It really demands you do the exact poses, down to holding the Joycon juuuust the right way.
More than anything I was surprised how strict it could be in that regard, not following the form instructions is asking for trouble, but I have to say, at the same token I was amazed how well things worked once I got the hang of it.
I’ll admit, I was ill while playing the game, so maybe that caused me to be a little more daft than usual, but it took me a bit to really get into it and I had to consult the museum several times for some microgames to figure out what I even needed to do.
I do think the game is a touch more complicated than usual for WarioWare, since you have to take effectively two controllers and specific poses into account, on top of grasping what each microgame demands of you, but once it clicks everything feels well thought out and purposeful. Getting things down is immensely satisfying and shows some really stunning results of what the Joycon can do.
That said the game isn’t entirely without jank, Hand Model being a notable culprit of it. The game finds several fun applications for it, but anything regarding reading forms or how many fingers you hold up, can be really clunky in the heat of the moment. In general, the strictness of the forms also means you need to really be prepared for every microgame, since slouching with your form could lead to a bad desync
Still, even with some jank I do think stepping up to the challenge to get a feel of it and get better is very much worth it. I wasn’t sure how to feel at first, but my opinion on it only went up the more I played.
That covers it for the main stages, as for the side-content though, yeah, that is where the game shows a weaker side of itself.
Not so much in terms of what’s here though. You got your standard towers, as well as MegaGame Muscles, which no joke, may be my favorite stage in the game. It’s frantic, fun, the music slaps and the set-up of Mr. Sparkles having ascended to being a literal god of fitness, is pure WarioWare.
The new Pyoro game of the day is a fun, different take on it, much like the one in Smooth Moves was as well and Dirty Job is a cool bonus game expansion of a more stand-out microgame concept.
That is really it as far as the single player content is concerned though and it does feel a liiiittle on the meager side. No souvenirs, which Smooth Moves and GiT didn’t have either, but Smooth Moves had more bonus games and GiT had the final Pyoro stage, Penny Remix, more bonus games, unlockable art and the Wario Cup.
We do still have a decent variety of multiplayer modes to work with and I did get a friend to come on by to try them, save for the 4 player exclusive one.
I think it’s a good selection, in concept it has the best multiplayer mode offerings since Mega Party Games (though I did like GiT a lot too), but there is one issue I have with it and I think GiT was a little guilty of it too.
As I mentioned, I do think there is a learning curve on how to play this game most effectively and you feel that even more in multiplayer, where someone not as in the know, is naturally gonna accidentally grip his Joycon slightly wrong, despite doing the pose and need some extra instructions, much like the characters in GiT can take some learning.
It is something you can overcome and have a good time with, WarioWare is a very good ‘’don’t take me too seriously’’ kind of multiplayer experience, but on the whole, if they want a true party game WarioWare, I still think something simpler like Mega Party Games is in order and by all means, I wouldn’t mind them doing something like that again.
On a side note, I also find it a bit of a shame that the nice new models for the cast, updated to resemble their designs in this game, are ultimately watered down to sprites of their heads during multiplayer gameplay. With how much emphasis is being put on multiplayer to carry the game for longer, I think it would have been nice if they put in the work to fully animate GiT-style models for the multiplayer modes.
That small gripe aside, as I said, I think multiplayer is fine, but not quite the pick up and play experience for people new to the game, as I feel they wanted it to be and I do think a bit too much of the game is locked behind multiplayer.
But yeah, that’s WarioWare Move It. It’s good and if you like WarioWare, you’re getting what you wanted out of it. It’s not one of my top games in the series and feels a bit too lacking on the side content front, but on the whole, I had a good time and it gets a surprising amount out of a controller that I have an openly low opinion on.

#Waretober, Day 5&6: Favorite gang or duo
The rest of my 9-Volt & Fronk-related art content:
Icons made to look like high-ress, non-pixaled ones from Get It Together (planning to do all main characters eventually), somewhat inspired by the icons from Pokémon Cafe ReMix and other Pokémon puzzle games by Genius Sonority (it was James Turner's idea, actually!)
Pencil drawing of 'Hero' 9-Volt and 'Wizard' Fronk from Gold (love that it's referenced in GiT's character gallery!)
Rough draft of a big piece I was planning to release for WarioWare's 20th anniversary in the style of 'joke manga' (you know the ones, where the faces and expressions are stretched to their limit, the characters usually look super cutesy and chibified and a ton of weird crap happens, ie Animal Crossing manga) I hope I'll get around finishing it for the series anniversary some day...
