Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I uh. Finished the first chapter draft for Ouroboros. Little sneak peaks below the cut I suppose.
“Deep down, you know that something has changed. You can’t quite put your finger on it yet.
-
That’s what it is. You’re alive.
-
Death does not always mean an end. It is simply a pit stop on a very long highway. You still have many miles to travel.
It is best if you get back in your car and begin to drive again.
-
How long can you take it? The way you have a mouth but no voice to speak through.
Can you take it?
-
You realize you are being rebuilt. It is uncomfortable and itchy knowledge. You feel it in the prickling numbness at the tips of your fingers, the eternal ache in your temples, and most of all, you fear.
Your aches and pains are all fear.
You are no longer human.”

PLEASE SAY MORE ABOUT HOW YOUD WRITE WARREN i'm a warren stan first & second and a human being third
POSES CUTELY. OH WELL I MEAN IF YOU INSIST,
The ideas me and my friend had for how we'd write warren as a character go smth like this:
A sort of feeling of distance from the other xmen, because of his status as someone highly wealthy and upperclass. Smth i like to explore in the xmen universe is how different characters' backstories might "interact", for lack of a better word, with their status as marginalized people. In this case warren is essentially in another dimension compared to the other xmen since hes from a family of extreme wealth and privilege, and thus his lived experiences, mutant or otherwise, are different compared to his companions
Internalized xenophobia. Blasting that mf with it. Smth i WISH theyd explore is the fact that warren would likely feel extreme conflict abt his mutation bc like. On one hand bc of his father and his upbringing warren would likely feel like an absolute freak, on the other his mutation grants him a sense of freedom and expression hed never have otherwise
Transgenderism be upon him. Personally i lean towards transfem warren bc um. I can but seriously TRANSGENDER METAPHOR
Id LOVE to put him in contrast with hank as a character bc they seriously work so well as narrative foils AND as character contrasts like. The dynamic between "My mutation is, at it's best, something that people would find grotesque or unusual [his funney feet]" vs "my mutation is something that elevates my beauty and ive been mistaken for a literal messenger of god"??? Insane. Please may i see more of it. Also like. The fact that both of them have mutations that are extremely physical in nature vs the other xmen is insane please may i see more. Im tired of warren/bobby as a dynamic thats just two white twinks everyone ships together please can i see warren and hank.

New Scotland Yard: The Come Back (1.2, LWT, 1972)
"This wasn't a sudden impulse. It was deliberate and calculated. He had to break in to get at the old man, and then - well, you saw what he did to him. I don't know if he's a psycho or not, but I do know he's a sadist and I know what treatment I'd hand out."
"Yeah, I can guess."
"It's the only way."
"You've a right to your opinion, just don't try and convert me."
"I wouldn't dream of it, I know what you think."
"I think it's just as well your job ends when we catch him."

whenever i watch midnight mass i am always struck by the contrast between bev and annie in their last moments
annie who meets the sun with faith and leads what’s left of her congregation in song, even knowing what they’ve done and that she is about to die because of it
and bev, who finds no fellowship and no forgiveness because she has never actually wanted to cultivate the first and she doesn’t think she’s done anything in her entire life that she might need forgiveness for, not even from god

my mother: *has a diverticulitis flare-up and problems at her work, leaving her in a constant volatile bad mood that is very difficult to be around*
me: *dealing with my own insomnia and joint problems flaring up with the season change, stress, physical strain from driving/sfx projects/whatever else, so i'm pretty much constantly tired and stressed and in pain*
also me: *suddenly experiencing a weird form of writer's block where the only thing I can write is Nikoletta and Abner fics*

sometimes youre like "hey, remember that lawsuit from years ago where warner brothers would have had to prove ghosts were real, i wonder how that whole thing ended. i should look that up."
and turns out you shouldnt look it up. or at least not when youre gonna be going to sleep within the next hour.
because turns out the legally proving ghosts are real thing is one of the easier things to digest in that clusterfuck of copyright claims.
the warrens are/were bad people who seem to have given away exclusive rights for their lifestory at least twice, maybe thrice, and its all downhill from there
