the trent and colin and isaac dynamic in the football kiddos au is. So Important To Me. obviously trent and colin have got their whole Only I Get To Be Mean To Me Da thing going on, and then isaac. oh isaac.

so. colin was adopted, right? and he and isaac met in kindergarten (u.k. equivalent. i will research this but i am. too tired rn sorry) and isaac was colin's first friend in the whole world and they imprinted on each other like baby ducks. and in this fic, isaac's mum isn't around a whole lot. she's a single parent and she works tirelessly to support him so isaac's around at trent and colin's all the time. to the point where he's got his own overnight bag, essentially his own bed, etc.

and isaac and trent are. trent wasn't expecting to adopt two kiddos when he adopted colin, but then isaac came along and he never left. and he and trent both LOVE cooking so they cook together, and trent tells isaac all the Shakespeare Lore he knows (english/lit majors moment) and isaac tells trent all about the shenanigans colin's gotten up to at school, and then colin bursts in and demands that they stop gossiping Or Else.

(on father's day, isaac makes trent pancakes. they're a bit burnt. but still good. they're still good.)

I'm soooo mad I found the SF2 animated movie and it's missing like the last 10-15 minutes but it's so so good I'm smitten. I really expected it'd be enjoyable in a corny sense as an obligatory 90's ova but I'm unironically getting so much enjoyment out of it even with it being the dub version

There's so much going on. Actually really good fighting choreography. Blanka shows up for like three minutes and in that time he graphically bites someone. Actually there's a lot of unexpectedly graphic violence. Literally the whole scene with Chun-Li and Vega in her apartment was peak. The use of grunge is so cheesy that it loops around to being unironically badass. Cammy is here for about five minutes but she spends most of her screen time committing graphic murder so iconic that they brought back both her outfit and the move in SF6. Seriously this movie is remarkably graphic and it works so well and doesn't feel like overkill. Chun-Li kills a man by stomping his face in and throwing him through a brick wall. I can't tell if her interactions with Guile were meant to be romantic or fatherly (I prefer the latter) but either way it's endearing. The fight choreography is so goddamn good. I've had Ultra by KMFDM stuck in my head nonstop. Honda is implied to be mildly telepathic and I wish he was my dad. Ryu is supposed to be globetrotting for the sake of training and fighting but he keeps accidentally making friends (god I wish the little Indian girl got to come back as a future playable character that'd be awesome). Bryan Cranston is in it. Ken's major role in the plot is pining for his missing bestie. We get Ryu headband lore and it was so good that they retconned it into canon. Did I mention the choreography?

head so full of football kiddos au, but especially colin jamie and isaac football kiddos. Like first of all, cannot wait to see Isaac's reaction to colin's new friend, a weirdly aggressive five year old he found at the park, and cannot wait to see what kind of unhinged behaviour the three of them get up too.

ME TOO BESTIE ME TOO. essentially..............colin bringing jamie to a playdate and introducing him to isaac is the kiddos equivalent of the kids bringing a puppy home and the dad initially being like Absolutely Not but in the end loving the puppy more than anybody else. like. that's what this is.

isaac has severe low-grade jealousy for the first few weeks but is also Very Aware that jamie is. tiny! and a whole lot younger than him and colin (in kiddo years)! and Does Not have the same qualms about isaac as isaac does about him! however. isaac refuses to forget the story of how jamie rammed into colin full-speed in the park while playing footie. that's his BEST FRIEND, OKAY. you DO NOT ram into him FULL SPEED (only isaac gets to do that).

but over time he realizes that jamie is actually a sweet sweet boy and soon he and jamie are bffs and it's colin's turn to have a bit of severe low-grade jealousy.

(jamie has no idea any of this is happening. he's still grappling with the fact that he's got Two Friends which is Two More Friends than he's ever had in his life.)
