I think aspec people in fandoms should be allowed to complain about how much of fandom is about shipping and I don't think it has to be taken as an attack on people who do enjoy shipping. I'm not really in any fandoms so I don't have a lot to say but often I think about how yeah shipping can be an interesting way to explore the characters but at the same time if the only value you see in a story is making characters kiss that's kind of a shallow way to enjoy it. At the end of the day there is a healthy balance

#anyways it's gonna come to a point where the word 'shipping' will activate my fight or flight response #why are there so many stupid no nuance takes here. for a site that makes fun of tiktok and twitter we sure have a lot of echochambers

We picked an interesting day to travel for our eclipse trip. The earthquake on the East Coast closed down our connecting airport and left us in a holding pattern for a solid 45 minutes, and delayed our next flight by several hours.

That said, I do love the immediate bonding that happens on a plane full of people who were just told that an earthquake of all things left us stuck in the air (can truthfully say that when the pilot announced we were clear to land, everyone clapped). It's also been very entertaining texting with my dad since -- he has a classic case of Airplane Autism and is the whole reason I know as much as I do about planes, and has been fascinated by the whole affair.

#i sent him a picture of the flight map showing the loops we had to take and he texted back that it was a 'beautiful holding pattern'#love him. i will literally always think about him teaching me the aviator's alphabet as like a kindergartner whenever i fly

Dreamt I was travelling somewhere and I had too many things that wouldn't fit in my luggage so I was going oh no, what should I do with these 😓 and then Han appeared with a large blue flannel bag and was like you can put your things in here and I'll give them back to you once we're on board :] and I was like Wow... Han Jisung :-)

i have a flight tomorrow that has a layover in denver and the first leg is supposed to get in at 12:15 and my connecting flight starts boarding at 12:40. so basically. im fucking stressed out of my GODDAMN GOURD about that right now. fuck.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is not a good book. I know that. You know that. It's almost not worth talking about the bad dialogue, the worse narration, and the abysmal world building. All of that is bad in a really normal, almost unremarkable way (though I did take an extremely high amount of glee in doing math with literally any number Yarros provided) (Yarros, please stop giving specific numbers at every opportunity).

None of that is nowhere near as interesting as the way in which Yarros-- who made sure to mention she is a second generation army brat who loves military heroes and has been blissfully married to hers for 20 years--uses the novel to argue in favor of American military intervention overseas.

It's bad, and I almost admire the sheer audacity.

Modern day school AU!!!

Chuuya was just homeschooled under an adoptive scientist father until high school and joins Sheep High(??? ig) but some circumstances ill flesh this out later lead him to change to Yokohama’s Port High.

also Odasaku is one of those assistant teachers who are like still in college and just show up sometimes to test-run be a teacher or take notes about teaching. Dazai is just that one wierdo who hangs out with the teacher assistant and that one guy in admin (ango) and doesnt make other friends until chuuya joins
