actually i do have something to say about this chapter and it's quite critical of it but also i'm tired tonight and i've been talking about it long and hard on discord already and putting it all together in a coherent post feels like too much of a task tonight. all i'm gonna say is that part 2 was very obviously going in a certain direction from the start, and i loved that direction, and to an extent it is still going in that direction but now very obviously missing a huge chunk of what stirred it in that direction. and i'm hesitant to simply say it's fujimoto that's dropped the ball on this (though it might the idealization, who's to say) because from the actual shape of the writing + slump in paneling/art + recent bitter interview by fujimoto + japanese audience is apparently vocally not a fan of asa + my own cursed knowledge of shounen jump and shueisha editors and how they react to a fall in sales = i think the lack of focus on asa has really hurt the themes of part 2 when she was an integral part of it + i think this wasn't entirely fujimoto's doing and it's very likely because she is apparently strongly disliked in japan and there's good reason to believe that fujimoto was told to not focus on her nearly as much bc sales slump and people complain as soon as she shows up. which sucks. becaue what made part 2 work as well as it did was the synergy and parallel between the two protagonists' paths, and the absence of asa's path in the past few months (both in universe and by real time in the comic) feels like a genuine writing and thematic and emotional hole in the comic that to me shows that she WAS supposed to be there. fujimoto had fully intended to write her in there bc there's a hole in the shape of her where she is very obviously supposed to fit. it isn't simply a question of "author forgets his female character" it's a question of "this crucial part of the manga is missing and the author is painfully aware of it and bitter about it too"

I'm playing some old missions again to update my challenges and was surprised at how good I find the 7 Deadly Sins compared to the newer content (pff)
But playing Ambrose Island, I realised again how little we know about Lucas Grey's past.
Apart from the fact that Grey suddenly comes around the corner with a mission that also happens to have something to do with Providence, I'm sure it's down to IOI looking for content that fits in with the overall game. So no further questions.
But still I ask myself: Who was Noel Crest for Lucas Grey?
Because have you noticed that Grey sounds super, super sad when Crest dies? Or when he announces him? Or when he briefly talks about his past?
In general, Grey was extremely vulnerable in this mission. John Hopkins does a fantastic job as always, but I really wonder why Grey is so emotional. I mean, I melt every time he says "I'll see you soon" when the mission is over. It's very sweetly purred. Longingly, even.
Crest was probably one of Grey's confidants, they worked closely together. But for comparison, Sean Rose, the guy who ran the big militia in Colorado (on Grey's behalf), also seemed to me to be a confidant of Grey. Otherwise he wouldn't give him such a task. Grey himself worked in the house alongside all the others (we remember the cellar). Intense co-operation, as with Crest. And we see Grey directly after 47 has done his deed, namely on the hill with his sniper rifle. But here, he didn't look sad at all. More like "well, now they're dead, crap, I'll have to think of something else now"
With Crest, I had the feeling that he needed 5 minutes to himself to process the death of his former... friend? I don't know, maybe I am reading too much into it.
Are there any fan theories on Noel Crest and Lucas Grey yet??

Odypen definitely and equivalently adore each other BUT I weirdly can't see them as the type to actually say "I Love you".
They still definitely vocalize their love for each other but it's more so in "My Joy", and "Extraordinary Woman", "Strange Woman/Man", etc. And very cheesy lines (both say some cheesy shit in the Odyssey, and he definitely does in the Iliad as well. "Joy like a drowning sailor seeing land" bit???)
I could see "I adore you" but even then, that's probably during very specific moments but the actual "I love you"??? I just typed it just now for fic shit and... It weirdly just didn't feel right and I don't know why. 😅
Idk maybe it's kind of because I see them as over the top in ways, they love wordplay and riddles and I think they'd almost think "...That's not good enough >:( " about it??? I don't know???😂

Regarding your latest attempt at being relevant, Boston Dumb Fuck.
I don't know if we will see more of the ASP discussion in Chicago, but I sense it may have been a big swing and a miss, based on the small clip I saw (and combined with the waste of time Q&A in DC), particularly when one of the dudes, not sure if the Democrat or Republican, was whining like a little bitch about the media only wanting to cover hand grenades in the 24 hour news cycle. Unfortunately this is not going to change, so he can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first. Perhaps, viral moments and authentic policy for constituents are not mutually exclusive. Maybe he can set up some time with his colleagues, Katie Porter or Jasmine Crockett, who have navigated this territory just fine, and managed to teach us a bit about math and alliteration at the same time.
These discussions with high schoolers are fucking embarrassing and tantamount to the white washed history many of them receive in their schools that leave out key pieces like Black Wall Street, fail to give credit to trailblazers like Ruby Bridges and provide explanations that the Civil War was about economics. Even the Holocaust is being watered down so that no (white) person feels bad.
You and Mark look like the old white guys who still think lame, performative efforts, like Up With People, are enough to make a difference. As long as you feel good, what does it matter the actual impact. That, my friend, is ego.

Eve and Lilith discussing motherhood though 🫠
One who gave up EVERYTHING, sacrificed for her 50+ kids her whole life, the kids who were a punishment and the most human beings she had ever met, for whom rebellion (I like to think) looked like being endlessly understanding of the human condition, of how unfair it is to try to measure up to unknown divine standards
The other one who somehow got what had been divinely denied to her, who (assuming that fandom attitudes translate to in-universe attitudes) is criticized for not being good enough, who could never be a traditional mother what with her being the de-facto ruler and leader of Hell, duty-bound to her citizens, actively pushing back against the colonialist divine
