THE SUBMISSION RULES ARE:

- CANNOT interact in canon! We are talking the obscurest of obscure. I need to have to hunt these character down and edit them into a photo in order for them to be valid. If I google their names together and can easily find official pictures of them hanging out it’s invalid(exceptions can be made depending on circumstances)

- CAN be from different source material. Literally anything goes!! Anime character and Spongebob? OKAY!!! Two characters from the same show who’ve never interacted?? YES!! I’m looking for ships you need to explain the development of. There needs to be a lore.

- CANNOT have a mass following. Once again, I’m looking for ships that can only be comprehended by a group of friends with insider knowledge. So things like BBC Sherlock’s mormor, despite being a ship wjere one of the characters technically doesn’t exist, doesn’t count on account of being immensely popular and having several hundreds of fics made for them. WE’RE TALKING WEIRD. RANDOM. OBSCURE. There’s gotta be like 5 fics of them MAXIMUM(exceptions can be made if they’re all by the same one or two very dedicated ppl)

- ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE JUDGED BY DEDICATION NOT NUMBERS!!! I want you FIGHTING for your LIFE to justify why your blorbos are not only weird but extremely valid to ship. I want to see essays with the same passion and effort youd put into your English paper worth 50% of your grade.

- I have full control of who gets in or not. Once again, we are going by dedication, not numbers. Please don’t be upset if your blorbos do not make it in. I f things go well, I’ll probably do this again, so you’ll likely have more chances to see them submitted.

- I DO NOT HAVE ENCYCLOPEDIC KNOWLEDGE OF EVERY MEDIA EVER. while i will go out of my way to do background checks of any character I don’t recognize, I’m not very smart. If a ship gets in that’s in some way notably problematic, I assure you I did not know!! Please just DM me about it if it happens!!!

- I don’t want to see any trash talking towards other opponents. This is a for fun poll! Please have fun. Discover new weird ships to have. Form weird ship polycules with the opponents and kiss or smth. If I see any vile behavior in the polls you will be blocked.

- unfortunately I am a human bound by feelings and bias. This was originally just going to be a ‘weird a3 ships’ thing before I decided to branch out since I doubt I’d get many submissions sticking to one fandom. If you see a lot of a3! Specific ships thats because I have a lot of friends who are all individually buckwild about certain weird ships.

WAHHHH I LOVE THIS 🥺🥺🥺 the pining and flirting and slowburn of it all… model!satoru and his favorite designer suguru geto, both of them undeniably skilled and born with an eye for fashion….. well-known and adored……..

designer!suguru who gets tasked with showing you the ropes, who’s always so patient and kind despite your inexperience. diligent with his teaching but also so laidback, so easy to talk to… he looks intimidating, but he’s so polite that you can’t help but swoon a little. and he admires your enthusiasm so much…… grows fond of you soooo quickly bc you’re just such a breath of fresh air compared to the divas he’s forced to work with all the time. he thinks you’ve got real potential and he wants to nurture it.

and ofc you end up running into model!satoru eventually…. bc he’s always hanging around suguru whenever he gets the chance. and he’s maybe a little jealous that you’re hogging so much of his personal designer’s attention, but… he also thinks you’re so cute . T_T like a little puppy following suguru around… so excited to be apart of something you’ve dreamed of for so many years……… he looks into your eyes and sees the same sparkle he had before he made it big, and it makes his heart race.

yeah . i’m just thinking abt the peaceful coffee breaks with suguru….. how he’d insist on paying for your drink, ”since he’s your senior” (he wants to be your favorite </3)…… and how he’d just be so protective over his little intern. don’t get me started on the close proximity with satoru when you’re taking his measurements, the glance and smile he sends your way during an impromptu shoot… the way he always calls for you with a sweet coo of ”how’s my favorite intern doing today?”

Listen, Ethan Hunt is at his core a silly goofy guy. Can he improvise? Sure! Guy loves to do it, does it all the time in fact, favorite way to do things. Anything that requires an actual thought?? A single thought spanning more than the next hour?? Nothing. Not a single braincell of his is working. This man hopped into the helicopter knowing nothing other than the fact that it was constantly yelling at him and that was a Bad Thing. Why? He doesn’t know. Listen. Listen. The man is smart; we all saw him do physics in the third movie when he pendulumed across a building. But also?? This man gets by with the Bare Minimum amount of Critical Thinking Skills (tm). The amount of times (at least two) he has gotten through a mission hoping the targets had never seen each other before?? Jumping into/through/generally towards something with the wish that he makes it and then doesn’t!?! I love Ethan, but it is because the only two thoughts going through that man’s head is Love Friends/People and Jump/Climb Things.

YES okay so he is, such a goof right? Loves food. Loves his friends. Loves having his friends as food. I feel like eating people would be something he considers petty normal tbh. After all, there are way weirder things in just the East Blue alone, so it’s honestly not that out there of a concept. I’m not sure what would have prompted him to first try it, maybe accident, maybe curiosity, but with his whole stretchiness thing it’s definitely something that’s very easy for him to do. He’s actually a  character I see same size working well for because he’s already made of rubber lol, and the full feeling from eating someone same size would be something he’d like way more than someone who’d been shrunk. Combine all that with how absurdly physically affectionate he is and bam, you’ve got a very clingy pred. 

He’s guilty of eating pretty much everyone in his crew at least once and no they do not have a say in it lmao. Usually he’ll just go for Z.oro since he’s his first mate and L.uffy usually tends to be the most physically affectionate and clingy with him. Does Z.oro say he hates it? Yes. Is he lying? Also yes. L.uffy can usually be found lounging in a hammock on the deck with a very visibly full stomach and is completely unashamed about the whole thing. Will gladly tell you what you taste like and ask if he can eat you without even a hint of embarrassment. He’s just like that. He loves eating S.anji with the food he makes and oh boy is U.sopp fun to randomly snatch up and startle lol. N.ami has threatened to kick his teeth in before and he does not care, but also won’t eat her all that often since she really isn’t overly fond of it. Sometimes though....sometimes it’s the best way to remind her how much she means to L.uffy, and that safety is worth being a little grossed out for. 

Oh, also L.uffy’s stomach is full of weird little things like silverware and small trinkets he thought were cool or valuable, and if you shake him he jingles like a coin purse. Sometimes you’ll even find like. A bowl or something in there. This man is a vacuum cleaner he does not chew

a year or two of wishing people would watch true detective s1 so that there’d be more true detective content on this website and now that it’s happening i don’t like it lol so predictable i know but it’s that classic fandom-ization thing where it’s like everybody likes this the wrong way except ME and of course there are contrarians who are like ACTUALLY here’s why this show FUCKING SUCKS (insert total misinterpretation of the show here) and then very valid points about why it’s disconcerting to see people dump on the new season that ISN’T about two white guys at the same time the season that is about two white guys is having a “renaissance” as the new season brings attention to the series as a whole…. and of course the tag is muddied by people who only want to talk about how hot rust cohle is like FINE i get it but i don’t care and how many people are even talking about the new season which i actually would like to see more of as it’s being aired? not to mention seasons 2 and 3 which are completely ignored <- i’m a hypocrite btw. and then there are people who are like FAKE FANS FAKE FANS about people who didn’t watch season 2 and 3. and are they wrong? they’re not wrong about us. but on the other hand it’s fun to see more content esp. art so i won’t complain too much

oh, yeah, another thing i noticed that was odd about s5 in comparison to earlier seasons was how much they relied on like. not the history of the doctor, exactly, but the image of that history. whether from little easter eggs of the first doctor’s picture popping up everywhere to i think the two(?) times in the season we get a montage of past doctors. and i honestly can’t remember anything like that happening earlier (with the exception of the time crash short, which felt more substantial to me and was also like. 7 straight minutes of david tennant being allowed to fangirl.)

and i say ‘the image’ because hell knows the RTD era was pulling from doctor who past left, right, and center, but it rarely felt like a moment of ‘look at this old thing, you remember old thing? old thing was cool and so are we for continuing it.’ and more like ‘here’s a species/character/etc from classic who. and here’s how they’ve changed and fit into the new world we’ve built for the show.’

I guess, the difference here for me is that. i haven’t watched classic who. s5 shows me a slideshow of doctors and to me, those are the guys i once ranked by how sexy i think they are. and not much else. i don’t have an emotional connection to an image. but take, say, school reunion? an episode that was my favorite even back when i was a kid specifically because i adored sarah jane? i had no idea who she was then, i only just figured out a little bit ago which doctor she traveled with, and exclusively all i’ve watched of her is that episode in s2 and the sarah jane adventures. and yet, that episode, without the context there for me, managed to make sense to me. i’m sure it was probably even more impactful to fans of sarah jane from classic who, but it didn’t lose its impact without that knowledge.

so, that’s a shift. i don’t want to say it’s a negative one, exactly, because maybe people who have seen classic who like these references and i’m missing something. but, to me, it feels a little more shallow.
