Pecco's wedding outfit ratings
Enea 8/10
Tumblr media
he got 2 points added to his total just because i love those glasses. kinda on the safe side but with how everyone else was dressed it was probably a good idea. the design on his shirt is nice. tan suit at a summer wedding pretty fair
Celestino 3/10
Tumblr media
easy little improvements such as proper sizing and wearing a jacket on top would've really fixed his ranking. i like the little hat he has it's cute.
Marco 0/10
Tumblr media
one of your best friends is getting married don't show up looking like a mime that's running a gondolas down in venice. so awful but it doesn't even circle back to being good it just stay awful. not even going talk about the polka dots on the back of the vest. was going to give him one point because i don't mind the whole brown look but nope the more i look at it the more angry i get
Luca 7/10
Tumblr media
i was expecting better from you. whoever gave any of this guys access to hair gel for this event should not have. grateful the shirt wasn't polka dot like i originally thought. could've worn a plastic garbage bag and i still would've given a 5
Franco 6/10
Tumblr media
if the shirt had been tucked in i wouldn't have minded the outfit. appreciate that he wore a jacket and didn't shave off his hair. every pic i've seen of him i've been distracted by his girlfriend's dress so 1 bonus points for that
Andrea 5/10
Tumblr media
Very much giving kentucky derby vibes. i think it's the hat that causing that. really don't hate it but don't really love it either. it's average. he almost lost a point cause it was hard to find a pic of him.
Valentino wedding look 9/10
Tumblr media
i was as surprised as everyone that he was appropriately dressed for once no converses, no paisley print shirts. are we sure it was not a body double? lost a point for the hair. guessing they were all sharing a tub of hair gel because all of them went overboard with the hair gel.
Valentino reception look 7/10
Tumblr media
like i really want to like this outfit i do but its very much giving my drunk uncle at our last family vacation vibes. why did he have to an outfit change? the side angle pic he has with the back of the outfit is doing some really hard work cause i found it very hot.
Uccio 9/10
Tumblr media
don't judge me i know i have a problem in judgement when it comes to uccio. he was dressed in a semi properly fitted suit. the hair gel wasn't as bad as it was on some other. and every pic his wife has posted they looked they were having a blast. did lose 1 point cause i think he changed into a white t-shirt at the reception

hi my sweet friend. returning the favor to you:
nancymarjan wedding (because they’re married to you and i)
what does their wedding look like? who does the majority of the planning? does clipboard marjan make a comeback? who is in the wedding party? and anything else you’d like to share with me!
since you wrote such a beautiful proposal fic i felt like you were extra qualified to talk about their wedding! 💕
i love this question, thank you friend for letting me ramble about our girls and your kind words about my fic 💕
clipboard marjan becomes wedding binder marjan, she is lowkey terrifying, she has clipboards, lists, colour coded binder tabs and an elaborate network of pinterest boards. nancy finds it very endearing, she doesn't really care what the placecards nor bridal party pocket squares look like as long as marjan is happy. marjan also buys a cricut machine and makes all their wedding stationery, and does all of the flowers for the wedding herself so they can have the bougie look she wants and still stay on budget.
they do a roller rink party with the catain crew as a joint bachelorette party, nancy pretends to be worse at rollerskating than she is so she can hold marjan's hands all night, marjan knows she's pretending but goes along with it to hold her hands.
i think they have a small, but very much elaborate wedding, it's mostly their families, their 126 family, some of marjan's derby friends. the wedding is in texas, and marjan's parents, sister and extended family fly out for it.
marjan has a floor length gown, with matching hijab, i'm picturing floaty chiffon fabric with a rainbow irridescent sheen. nancy wears a really crisp white pantsuit, with flared pants and no shirt under the waistcoat, and her hair braided into an updo, with some loose wavy pieces like her tarlos wedding hair. they both have a colourful wildflower bouquet.
judd officiates the ceremony, it's secular but with elements of both their cultures woven throughout. tommy and tk are nancy's co-maids of honour, and her sister is a bridesmaid. marjan has paul as her best man and carlos and her sister sahar as bridesmaids. charlie ryder is the flower girl. it's an outdoor ceremony, with a tonne of colourful wildflowers. marjan's dad gives a big speech at the reception about how proud he and marjan's mum are of her, and how happy they are she found nancy, everyone cries.
they have a signiature mocktail on offer at the reception, it's colourful and glittery. they have a rainbow colour scheme but it doesn't look tacky, leaning into the colour mostly in the florals table arrangments, and a bar with colourful glassware. they have a charcuterie snack table that tk and carlos help them put together to cut down on catering costs so they have can splurge on a dessert table with a tonne of colourful desserts, fresh fruit and a really simplistic white cake, it's an orange and vanilla bean sponge with white buttercream and decorated with candied oranges and flowers.
they have a pink and white dance floor, that gets plenty of use. in the spirit of overthinking my answers to all the asks i've gotten today, i made a moodboard for this:

The Elegance of Formal Dress for Men for Wedding
Weddings are momentous occasions that call for the finest attire, not just for the bride and groom but also for the guests. In many cultures, wedding ceremonies are steeped in tradition, and the attire reflects the significance of the event. While much attention is often given to bridal wear, it is equally important for men to dress impeccably. A formal dress for men for a wedding embodies sophistication, elegance, and respect for the celebration.
The Importance of Dressing Well for Weddings
Dressing appropriately for a wedding is a mark of respect towards the hosts and the event itself. It signifies that you value the occasion and are honoring the union of two people. For men, a formal dress for a wedding typically includes a well-tailored suit, a crisp dress shirt, polished shoes, and accessories like a tie or bow tie, cufflinks, and a pocket square. This ensemble not only enhances the wearer’s appearance but also boosts confidence and ensures they fit seamlessly into the grandeur of the event.
Choosing the Right Suit
The cornerstone of a formal dress for men for a wedding is the suit. The choice of suit can vary based on the wedding's formality, the season, and personal style. Here are some considerations to keep in mind:
1. Suit Color and Fabric
Classic Black Suit: Timeless and versatile, a black suit is suitable for most formal weddings. It exudes elegance and pairs well with various accessories.
Navy Blue Suit: A navy blue suit is another excellent choice. It’s less formal than black but still highly sophisticated and versatile.
Gray Suit: Light or dark gray suits offer a modern and chic look. They are particularly suitable for daytime weddings.
Fabric: Wool is a popular choice for its durability and breathability. For summer weddings, linen or cotton suits provide a lighter, more comfortable option.
2. Suit Fit
A well-fitted suit is crucial. An ill-fitting suit can detract from the overall look, no matter how expensive it is. Tailoring services can ensure that the suit fits perfectly, with attention to shoulder width, sleeve length, and trouser hem.
The Dress Shirt
The dress shirt is another vital component of a formal dressing  for men for a wedding. White is the most traditional and versatile color, but light blue or pastel shades can also be appropriate, depending on the wedding's color scheme.
1. Collar Style
Spread Collar: Suitable for wider tie knots and gives a modern look.
Point Collar: More traditional and versatile, works with most tie knots.
Wingtip Collar: Often reserved for black-tie events and pairs well with bow ties.
2. Fabric
Cotton is the preferred fabric for dress shirts due to its breathability and comfort. For a more luxurious feel, you can opt for shirts made from Egyptian or Sea Island cotton.
Ties and Bow Ties
Tumblr media
Ties and bow ties add a touch of personality to the formal dress for men for a wedding. The choice between the two often depends on the wedding's formality and personal preference.
1. Ties
Silk Ties: These are classic and available in various colors and patterns.
Knitted Ties: Offer a more casual yet stylish look.
Patterned Ties: Stripes, dots, and paisley patterns can add interest to the ensemble.
2. Bow Ties
Bow ties are typically reserved for black-tie events. They come in various fabrics and patterns, allowing for some personal flair.
Footwear
The shoes you choose can make or break your formal look. Classic choices include:
Oxford Shoes: The epitome of formal footwear, perfect for almost any suit.
Derby Shoes: Slightly less formal than Oxfords but still suitable for most weddings.
Loafers: Suitable for more casual weddings or as a comfortable option for the reception.
Ensure your shoes are well-polished and in good condition. Black shoes are the most traditional choice, but brown or tan shoes can work well with lighter suits.
Accessories
Accessories add the finishing touches to a formal dress for men for a wedding. They should complement the overall look without overwhelming it.
1. Pocket Square
A pocket square adds a dash of elegance. White is a safe choice, but you can also opt for colors or patterns that complement your tie.
2. Cufflinks
Cufflinks provide an opportunity to express personal style. Silver or gold cufflinks are classic choices, but you can also find options in various shapes and designs.
3. Watch
A sophisticated watch can be a subtle yet powerful accessory. Opt for a classic design with a leather or metal band.
4. Belt or Suspenders
Ensure your belt matches your shoes. Suspenders can be an alternative if you prefer not to wear a belt.
Groom’s Attire
While guests have a broad range of options for formal dress for a wedding, the groom’s attire often stands out. The groom’s suit or tuxedo should be tailored to perfection and align with the wedding’s theme and formality.
1. Tuxedo
For black-tie weddings, a tuxedo is the standard. It typically includes a satin lapel, satin stripes on the trousers, and is worn with a bow tie.
2. Three-Piece Suit
A three-piece suit, which includes a vest, is an excellent choice for a Pakistani  formal dresses yet distinguished look. It offers the flexibility of removing the jacket during the reception while still looking polished.
3. Custom Tailoring
Many grooms opt for custom-tailored suits to ensure a perfect fit and personalized details, such as monogrammed cuffs or unique lining.
Seasonal Considerations
The time of year can significantly influence the choice of a formal dress for men for a wedding.
1. Spring and Summer
Lightweight fabrics like linen and cotton are ideal for warmer weather. Lighter colors, such as light gray, tan, or pastel shades, are also appropriate.
2. Fall and Winter
Heavier fabrics like wool or tweed are suitable for colder months. Darker colors, such as charcoal, navy, and black, are more fitting for the season.
Cultural and Regional Variations
Cultural and regional traditions can also impact the choice of formal dress for men for a wedding. For example:
1. South Asian Weddings
In South Asian weddings, traditional attire like sherwanis or kurta pajamas is often worn. These outfits are richly embroidered and paired with churidar pants and traditional footwear like juttis or mojris.
2. Western Weddings
Western weddings typically favor suits and tuxedos. However, regional styles, such as kilts in Scottish weddings, may also be seen.
3. Middle Eastern Weddings
In Middle Eastern weddings, men might wear dishdashas or thobes, which are long robes, often paired with a headscarf.
Conclusion
A formal dress for men for a wedding is more than just a set of clothes; it is a symbol of respect, elegance, and personal style. From the choice of suit to the finest accessories, every detail contributes to a polished and sophisticated look. Whether you are a guest, a groomsman, or the groom, dressing appropriately for the occasion enhances the experience and ensures you are remembered for your impeccable style. Embrace the opportunity to dress up and celebrate love with confidence and grace.

The Bandhgala: A Timeless Piece of Indian Menswear
The Bandhgala, also known as a Jodhpuri suit, is a classic garment that has become a staple in Indian men's ethnic wear. Combining sophistication and tradition, it offers a versatile option for various occasions. Whether you're attending a wedding, a formal event, or even a festive celebration, a well-tailored bandhgala can elevate your look and make a lasting impression.
Decoding the Bandhgala: History and Style
The Bandhgala's origins can be traced back to the British Raj era in India. It emerged as a fusion of the Achkan, a long coat worn by Indian royalty, and the formal European suit. This unique blend resulted in a garment with a distinct character – a short, knee-length jacket featuring a mandarin collar and a closely fitted front with a single row of buttons.
Key characteristics of a Bandhgala:
Mandarin collar: This signature element adds a touch of elegance and cultural flair.
Close-fitting front:  The single row of buttons creates a clean and streamlined silhouette.
Knee-length jacket:  The typical length provides a formal and balanced look.
Paired with trousers:  Bandhgalas are traditionally paired with fitted trousers for a cohesive ensemble.
Bandhgala for Men: A Versatile Choice
The beauty of the Bandhgala lies in its versatility. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and your personal style.
Formal Events: A classic Bandhgala suit in rich fabrics like silk or brocade is a perfect choice for weddings, receptions, and formal gatherings. Opt for muted tones like black, navy blue, or beige for a timeless look.
Festive Celebrations:  Incorporate festive colors and patterns into your Bandhgala for a celebratory vibe. Sherwanis with Bandhgala jackets are popular choices for Diwali or other Indian festivals.
Modern Twist:  For a contemporary touch, explore Bandhgala blazers in lighter fabrics like cotton or linen. These can be paired with a kurta and churidar for a stylishly ethnic look, suitable for semi-formal occasions or even a fusion wedding.
Choosing the Right Bandhgala for You
With the growing popularity of Bandhgalas, there's a wide variety of styles and fabrics available to suit your taste and budget. Here are some factors to consider when choosing the perfect Bandhgala:
Fabric:  Silk and brocade offer a luxurious look for formal occasions. Cotton and linen are more comfortable options for everyday wear.
Color:  Opt for classic black, navy blue, or beige for a timeless appeal. For festive events, explore vibrant colors like burgundy, emerald green, or even printed fabrics.
Fit:  A well-tailored Bandhgala should fit comfortably around the shoulders and chest, with a clean line down the body.
Styling Tips for a Polished Look
Accessorize: Elevate your Bandhgala with a pocket square or a statement brooch. Consider adding a Nehru cap for a more traditional touch.
Footwear:  Opt for formal shoes like Oxfords or Derbys for a polished look. For a more relaxed setting, loafers can be a good choice.
Underneath it all:  Pair your Bandhgala with a kurta in a contrasting color or a simple white shirt depending on the formality of the occasion.
Bandhgala vs Sherwani: Understanding the Difference
Both Bandhgalas and Sherwanis are popular ethnic wear options for men, but there are some key differences:
Length:  Sherwanis are typically longer than Bandhgalas, reaching down to the knees or below.
Closure: Sherwanis often have a side closure with buttons running diagonally across the chest, while Bandhgalas feature a central front closure.
Formality:  Sherwanis are generally considered more formal attire compared to Bandhgalas.
Ultimately, the choice between a Bandhgala and a Sherwani depends on your personal preference and the occasion.
The Bandhgala is a timeless piece of Indian menswear that offers a unique blend of sophistication and tradition. With its versatility and range of styles, it's a must-have for any man who appreciates classic elegance. So, embrace the charm of the Bandhgala and elevate your ethnic wear wardrobe!

De Algemene Verwarring #110 - 15 April 2024
Episode one hundred and ten of De Algemene Verwarring was broadcast on Monday, April 15, 2024, and you can listen to it by clicking on the link below that will take you directly to the Mixcloud page:
Pictured below is Claire Mahoney, the woman behind the project Thistle Group, who has just recently collaborated with P. Wits to release a 7" on the I Dischi Del Barone label from Sweden. The 49th release on the label that only releases singles. Both artists are from New-Zealand. Thistle Group until now only released a cassette on 20 copies and a 7" on the Soft Abuse label. P. Wits might be a bit more known thanks to the 7" release on Belgian label Knotwilg Records. And it's an excellent single, maybe one of the highlights in the IDDB catalog. But contrary to what I said in the radio show, the most recent releases on the label were not less interesting to me when I look at the list now. I was under the impression that the last few releases were less appealing to me, but there's releases from Troth, from Eyes Of The Amaryllis, 番長 Taste, and the very last one was the harsh noise banger from Zwangsbeglucktertum, so what the hell was I thinking, seriously. Excellent label, excellent series of singles, buy them all if you can find them. Also, IDDB50 might be the last one, not sure about that, and I would be extremely sad if the label stops, but knowing that in the beginning they were 8 euro and now they are already 12 euro I can understand why it's not exactly rewarding to release singles... You really have to be a total freak like me for buying them and an even more total freak to put your money in such releases. Anyway, it's been quite a ride, so thanks to Matthias for all these wonderful releases.
Other music in this episode comes from surf rockers Krontjong Devils, ukulele expert Fabian, Les Yss Boys, Plexi Stad, The Drin, Honey Radar, Magazine, Desenterradas, Myriam Gendron, Brainman, AUS, Théorème, Juho Toivonen, and more! And beneath the photo you can find the playlist for the show. Enjoy!

Why Women Are Embracing The Roller Skate Trend?
 The trend of roller skating is back, and it's not just for kids anymore. In fact, I've heard that women are embracing Best roller skates women online trend more than ever before. Why? Well, it all comes down to the fact that roller skates are pretty much as comfortable as sneakers (not to mention they make you look cool).
But aside from that, I think there are other reasons why women have been so receptive to them lately:
A Fun Way to Stay Active
A roller skates women collection is a great way to stay active and healthy, especially if you're looking for an effective cardio workout. Roller skating can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour when done at a moderate pace, which means it's more than double the calorie burn of running or cycling!
Roller skating also improves your balance and coordination as you learn how to navigate around obstacles on wheels. This skill will come in handy later in life when you need it most--when walking around town with friends who are wearing heels or trying out new dance moves at a wedding reception (or both).
A Creative Form of Self-Expression
If you're not a skater, it may seem that roller skating is just for kids. But these days, the trend has been embraced by adults who are using the sport as a creative form of self-expression.
Roller skating is an artistic expression and way to express yourself through movement, colour and music. It's also an opportunity for people to connect with others in their community by participating in events like roller derby tournaments or skating parties at rinks around town (or even at home!).
A Nostalgic Throwback
Roller skating is a throwback to the past, but it's also fun and fashionable. It's a great way to get out of the house and socialise with friends or family. It's also a great way to exercise! Roller skates are not just for kids--they're making a comeback among adults as well!
Roller skating has been around since the 1800s, when it was first popularised by John Merlin (an American). He created wooden wheels that were attached to boots with leather straps, which eventually evolved into metal plates attached directly onto shoes.
Skating is fun
Women are embracing roller skating because it's a fun, creative and nostalgic way to express yourself.
Roller skating is an active sport that can be enjoyed by anyone at any age. You don't need any experience or special equipment to start skating--just some roller skates, which you can rent or purchase at your local rink and lace up as soon as you arrive!
Once you're on the rink floor, all it takes is a little practice before you'll be gliding around like an old pro (or maybe even pulling off some tricks).
Skating offers many benefits: it's good exercise; it boosts confidence; and if done in groups with friends or family members who also enjoy roller skating, it creates opportunities for bonding time together in which everyone has fun while staying active at the same time!
Conclusion
We hope this article has helped you understand why Best Impala roller skates online is making a comeback. It's fun, nostalgic, and it gives you a great workout! If you're ready to give it a try yourself, check roller skates women selection today and enjoy skating.

Just realised I never dropped my “huntlow in the future raising a kid together” au here.. uh here’s me rambling
• Hunter owns a bakery; he works 4 days a week and spends his Fridays looking after his daughter
• Willow is a professional flyer derby player! She also volunteers in helping restore the palistrom trees with eda
• Hunter never misses one of willows games, whenever she gets a point hunter yells “THATS MY GIRLFRIEND!” Everyone knows this already, he tells them every week
• (Hunter still plays flyer derby btw, just not on a professional level)
• T4T couple swag real
• Their adoptive daughters name is Poppy Park! She’s five years old and loves gardening, hitting people with sticks and just being silly in general
• She has a special interest in plant magic! She loves watching willow making all sorts of flowers and vines using her magic
• Hunter is extremely nervous about being a dad at first, but the second he holds baby poppy in his arms they are basically inseparable
• During the first few months after poppys adoption, willow would often wake to find that hunter had snuck out of bed at 6am to just watch over poppy in her crib. Most of the time he’s crying
• (Here she is using an owl house picrew, she’s around 15 here, she studies all magic but specialises in plants and beastkeeping)
Tumblr media
• Gus is absolutely the cool uncle, he’s poppy’s favourite playmate because of his illusions
• Luz is her favourite when it comes to storytime though, she’s read her every Azura book at least 5 times. Amity tags along sometimes too
• Hunter and Willow wait a while to get married, “who proposes when they do?” Both of them, duh.
• Luz: “hey gus,,, funniest thing, willow just told me she plans on proposing to hunter tonight”
Gus: “…”

Like a Raisin in the Sun
Saint Tropez, France
June 28, 2021
Despite all the trouble it caused them, all of their family liked the sun. Even Jasper, whose ruthlessly military affinity for the dark had taken decades to overcome, lay stretched out on a chaise, his eyes closed, with Alice curled up on his chest. Emmett and Rosalie were curled up on another set of chaises, Rosalie’s head on Emmett’s shoulder, his fingers stroking absently through her hair.
The estate they’d rented had a private beach, of course, and two large pools, and the main house itself was large enough that they couldn’t always hear from one side to the other. Small mercies after the beginning of the pandemic, when the nine of them had somehow managed to cram into their five bedroom cottage in Toulouse. Here at the coast, they all had plenty of room to be apart.
That turned out not to matter much, however. Except for a handful of times of day, when one couple or another would peel off into one of the suites so expansive they were large apartments unto themselves, they were together. Four pairs of chaise lounges feet from the water’s edge. Nine players around the Monopoly board Rosalie and Jasper had designed which was much more punishing and required a buy-in of two thousand euro from anyone who wanted to play to fund the “bank.” Seven in the audience around the Steinway, as Edward and Renesmee worked through the entirety of the four-handed Dolly Suite.
The water made an arrhythmic whoosh as it met sand over and over. Sometimes two waves came almost together, huge and frothy; other times it was the more gentle swish of a small, barely there swell of ocean. It was strange, beautiful, percussion-only symphony, and Edward could almost hear a melody over it, feeling his fingers begin to itch with the desire to compose.
Only one set of chaises sat empty, and as he gazed toward the horizon, he could see them: bright flashes of light between the two-foot swells. They were much farther out than would be safe for humans, having allowed the undertow to take them probably an eighth of a mile out to sea, to a sandbar where the waves crashed prematurely before building up again to come ashore. Between the waves, they stood only waist deep in water, the sun glinting off their shoulders and backs, sending shimmering rainbows across the dark sapphire of the waves.
Carlisle dove through a wave, emerging with hair dripping down his back. He ran a hand through it as he laughed and took a few strokes through the water to be closer to Esme, whose definitely-designed-to-scandalize-the-adult-children string bikini left more of her skin exposed than her husband's long swim trunks did his. Once together, a few steps further out took them both into deeper ocean where they treaded water, having a conversation Edward could not overhear.
So intent was he watching, he barely felt he hand on his shoulder as the chaise beside him became occupied, its regular owner having returned from retrieving a new book from the house. His wife settled in next to him, immediately following his gaze out to the distant sandbar. Together they listened to Esme’s giggling shriek as Carlisle picked her up and threw her full on into a large wave, followed immediately by Carlisle’s deep laughter as Esme recovered her footing and immediately picked him up and did the same. They slapped each other’s shoulders playfully, wiping water out of their eyes and shaking it out of their hair.
“They’re having so much fun out there,” Bella commented quietly.
Edward nodded, saying nothing. After several minutes more, his wife poked him in the side, making him chuckle.
“Sometimes I’d like to have your gift,” his wife said. “Know what you’re thinking.”
He laughed. “That makes two of us.”
It was their private joke, how Bella was his one silent mind. From time to time, she let him in, but it was difficult and she didn’t do it often. So he had scaled the uneasy cliff of learning to ask her to voice her thoughts, and to be more forthcoming about his own.
“I forget so often how young they are,” he answered, his voice quiet. “They should just be at the beach, splashing each other.”
“And then coming in and having mojitos,” Bella added.
Edward stared back out over the water.
“He would be just out of his M-1 year,” he muttered.
Bella laughed. “Carlisle? He’d be a rising M-3 at a minimum. You think he somehow didn’t finish college at least a year early?”
He laughed. “True.”
Bella leaned into him. “And she’d be the rising star architect at the boutique firm. Nobody can believe she has so little experience because her designs are so good.”
Edward slipped an arm over his wife’s bare shoulders. “How did they meet?”
“Mmmm.” Bella’s gaze returned to the ocean. “She designed the art museum and he went to a gala. He’d be looking at the Cezanne. And she would come up from behind him and start telling him about it.”
“Yeah and then he would compliment the architecture of the building and make her blush.”
Bella laughed. “A coincidence, or does he know who she is?”
“He knows who she is. He’s hitting on her.”
They both smiled.
“Does it work?”
Edward nodded. “She lets him buy her a glass of wine from the cash bar. And it’s generic and not very good so he offers to take her to a real wine bar after the event. And they sneak out of it a little early. He orders something way too fancy for his budget and he’s just going to put it on his credit card but—”
“—Esme sees straight through him and gets the check.”
Laughing again, Edward nodded. They both fell silent for a moment, the only sounds the breeze, the birds, and the gentle whoosh of the Mediterranean.
“How long do they wait to do it,” his wife asks mischievously.
Edward threw his hands over his eyes. “Bella!” When he opened them, he saw his wife, one eyebrow cocked, and when they spoke, it was as one:
“Third date.”
They dissolved into laughter.
“His place or hers?” This was Edward.
“His. It’s a mess. He wasn’t expecting to invite her home. His sheets aren’t clean, either.” Carlisle, for his master command of anywhere between two and ten people’s laundry, somehow almost always managed to forget the sheets even with an inhuman memory. Bella’s invocation of one of her father in-law’s few marital imperfections made Edward laugh.
“She doesn’t care,” he added.
Bella shook her head. “She’s kinda charmed, really.”
“They move in together very quickly.”
“But they don’t get married for a long time.”
Edward nodded. “Until he’s in residency.”
His wife smiled. Then she mischievously leaned into his side, putting her lips at his ear and whispered, “They pull the goalie before the wedding.”
This made Edward laugh, but it rang true. In this world of events his mother would be thirty, and worried. They would both want to get started as soon as they were sure of their commitment, and neither of them had ever been much for suffering other people’s opinions about what might be proper. He listened, smiling, as his wife went on.
“They find out the day before and everyone is gushing at the reception about how sappy in love they look. It’s not until she starts showing that they tell everyone why they were so gooey that day.”
Edward smiled shyly, sitting up, dragging his toe in the white sand.
“Boy or girl?”
“Girl,” Bella answered immediately. When he cocked his head and frowned, she smirked and added, “There is no alternate universe in which you are not Rose’s little brother.”
At this, Edward guffawed. But it was true, he knew. When he saw them, in their minds, the shadow-dream family his parents both had, he was always the youngest. Sometimes there were three children, the oldest a boy whom each of them imagined differently—Carlisle imagining caramel hair and brown eyes, and Esme imagining a softened version of Charles, usually, but sometimes a boy with Carlisle’s hair, and blue eyes the exact hue of which she didn’t know and Carlisle didn’t remember. He would have been twenty years younger than Edward, chronologically, yet somehow in all their imaginations he was the oldest—the lost child, the child she ran for, the only person in their family who had ever died.
It weighed so heavily on them. All they had lost, all the things they had won in their stead. They had been so weary a week ago in the morning, when they’d met the rest of the family on the tarmac in Castres. A pandemic year was taking its toll on them both.
The couple who splashed in the waves seemed too young to have experienced all the loss they had. They looked so unburdened, chasing the waves, laughing at each other, catching the sun. As they watched, Esme put Carlisle on her shoulders and he fought until they both fell backward and went under.
Bella squeezed his hand. “Which ones do you think are happier? The imaginary ones or the real ones?”
Edward pressed his lips together. He could see them, in his mind’s eye: the beautiful couple settling comfortably into middle age, the doctor coaching his daughter’s basketball team, the architect leading the pine car derby for her son’s scout troop.
But he could see this couple, too. The joy on their faces as they hugged each of their six children. The way their skin had glowed in the light of absolutely unnecessary birthday candles, a “1”, a “2”, and a “0” on a cake only Renesmee could eat, and in all likelihood wouldn’t. The night before, when they’d watched In the Heights, his daughter fighting sleep as she leaned on her grandfather’s shoulder. How contented Carlisle had looked as he nudged her awake, knowing she considered herself far too old to be carried to bed.
They were old and young. Happy and sad. Yin and yang, like the ancient forces: equal parts the hard amidst the easy, the pain amidst the joy.
“The real ones,” he said, and was rewarded with another squeeze of his hand as his wife smiled.
“I think so, too,” she said.
In the distance, they both watched as Carlisle and Esme disappeared again under the waves.

Fun Spring and Summer Bridal Shower Ideas
Tumblr media
Planning a wedding is a ton of work, even a virtual one. Aside from the actual reception and ceremony, there's the dress, the flowers, the cake, the bridesmaids… the list is so long it's stressing us out. That's where your bridesmaids come in. It's their job to plan the bachelorette party and most importantly, the wedding shower. So to help your lovely ladies of honor out, we've rounded up a list of bridal shower inspiration.
Tumblr media
1. Coral: These coral-colored wedding invites set the scene for an elegant soiree in a fresh hue. (via Minted)
Tumblr media
2. Paper Tropical: Green doesn’t suit everyone as a color palette, so mix it up using pastels and summery shades. With paper, anything is possible.
Tumblr media
3. Retro Brunch: There’s a reason you’ve been collecting all that kitschy cute dinnerware. Put it to good use for your trendiest friends.
Tumblr media
4.  Lemon Theme is colorful and refreshing
Tumblr media
5. Slumber Party: No boys allowed. Need we say more? Iridescent unicorn streamers, PJs and balloons for all!
Tumblr media
6. Greenery provides the perfect excuse to eat all kinds of healthy snacks.
Tumblr media
7. Outdoor Movie Night: You probably haven’t done this since you were a kid, but a movie night outside is the epitome of summer fun. Don’t forget to rig a wicked sound system, otherwise you’ll all be crowded around your laptop speakers.
Tumblr media
8. Ice cream Social: Dust off your finest ice cream scoop, and start looking for the best waffle cones. A retro vibe is lots of fun, but you could update it to suit your needs.
Tumblr media
9.Moroccan Oasis: Instead of placing floral arrangements in vases, hang them among balloon lights and air plant terrariums for some unexpected drama. Rock the Kasbah!
Tumblr media
10. Roller Disco: Gather the squad for some roller derby action and bust out the jams and disco balls. Bonus points for jumpsuits, big hair, and way too much eyeshadow. Boogie night references are welcome.
Tumblr media
11. Waffle Brunch
Tumblr media
12. Lilly Pulitzer: Finally, an opportunity to use every single color of tableware you have. Pink cutlery? Do it. Funky florals? You better be using those. Oh, and don’t forget the bold and punchy citrus. Slowly but surely, you’ll be able to pull together a playful party full of pattern-heavy shift dresses.
Tumblr media
13. Movie Night In: Not everyone has a yard, or a projector, but everyone has a TV. What’s more? It’s a budget friendly way to catch the latest releases, or the squad’s faves.
Tumblr media
14. Coachella: Tickets are legit expensive, and getting time off work to go is tricky. BUT, you can recreate the Indio Desert in your backyard, complete with rich textiles, a wicked playlist, and a whole lot of tassel fringe.
Tumblr media
15. Chanel: Celebrate in utter luxury, with quilted this, and scented that. With a bigger budget, having everyone create a custom perfume is as classy as it gets. (Inspired By This)
Tumblr media
16. Fiesta: Who doesn't love a piñata and tacos? Boring people, that's who.
Tumblr media
17. Martini Masquerade: This one could easily take a 50 Shades vibe if you wanted. But you can keep it sexy and simple with masks and lavender bubbly.
Tumblr media
18. The Right Note: Does the Bride to Be love to rock-out? Is her beau a musician? The answer is clear: music themed everything.
Tumblr media
19. Beauty & The Beast: Because your BFF Belle, finally found her Prince aka the Beast.
Tumblr media
20. Prickly Cactus: No need to go over the top with the theme. Cactuses and succulents are trendy, simple, and allow you to pull from your extensive collection, and even add to it!
Tumblr media
21. Sustainable & Earthy: How much can you borrow or upcycle for this bash? Impress the eco friendly bride with your environmentally conscious choices.
Tumblr media
23. Spring flowers: These cheery little blooms are hopeful, feminine, and won't clash with anyone's outfit (hopefully). Plus, you can DIY everything you need, so you can use your existing party essentials.
Tumblr media
23. Dessert Bar: Not digging a theme? Cool. Just put out a bunch of desserts, and suggest everyone do their photos before cake stains are a problem.
Tumblr media
24. Spa Night In: Grab some matching bathrobes on Etsy and DIY some spa treatments. This is how you relax and pamper yourselves for cheap.

Roguish Women Part 17
Summary: Kate Rosseau is an American who fled to Paris to escape her past life. Now she's dancing and playing the part of a courtesan at the Moulin Rouge. There she meets Tommy Shelby who thinks she can be useful in expanding his empire. But has he been blinded?
Part 16: Tommy confronts Kate.
Tumblr media
           “About?” Kate kept the distance between them. There was no reason for her to get closer to Tommy, not in any sense of the word.
“In the field, after Derby day.” His hand left the door handle, indicating that he wouldn’t be leaving any time soon. “You said I meant more to you than I knew.” He reminded her.
She chewed on her lower lip. She had said that, although it was in the context that she thought he was going to be killed. Therefore, it would be something they wouldn’t discuss further. “Yeah, and?”
“What did you mean by that?”
“It was-it was just something I said, Tommy, it didn’t-” She sighed heavily and looked for an escape route. Something to say to make him drop the matter and never bring it up again. Unfortunately, she couldn’t come up with one in the heat of the moment. There didn’t seem to be anything that would distract him. “Why are you bringing this up now?”
“Because-”
“You could’ve asked me the day after or-or whatever but now? You’re bringing it up days before your wedding? Are you looking for trouble?” She exclaimed.
“Because you said you loved me,” Tommy spoke over her so she wouldn’t interrupt again.
Her cheeks went red and she glared at him. “No, I didn’t. I never said that to you.”
His defenses went down a bit as he leaned against the wall nearest to him. He ran a hand over his face, preparing himself for the Pandora’s box he was about to open. It had taken him such a long time to work up the courage to talk to Kate about it. He got even less sleep than usual because he was so at odds with himself. “You said it to me that night John brought you to my flat.”
Horror crept up on Kate. She thought she was in the clear but her own drunken self had admitted everything, apparently. “You must have misheard me.” Her voice was significantly quieter and she was finding it difficult to look at him.
“I didn’t. You said you loved me but I was marrying Grace.” He recounted for her. “I heard you clear as day, Kate.”
A mixture of embarrassment and heartache settled in her throat like a rock. She wasn’t waiting for Tommy to reciprocate her feelings. He wouldn’t be marrying another woman if he loved her. If anything, she was waiting for him to laugh at her or remove her from the company.
Frustratingly, she felt tears forming in her eyes. God, she didn’t want to cry in front of him. “Okay, so what?” She asked. “That doesn’t change anything.”
Tommy took a few steps toward her but stopped halfway across the room. “So, what you said is how you feel?”
“If you want me to look you in the eyes and say it, I won’t.” She swallowed and averted her eyes to the lavishly designed carpet. “Because I know it doesn’t change anything.”
“How do you know that?” It was a standoffish question. Tommy never liked to have his actions assumed.
“Because you’ve known for weeks and you didn’t call off the wedding. Because she’s pregnant and you won’t leave her.” Kate told him the two reasons she had to remind herself every night. The two reasons that they would never end up together.
“Kate…”
“It doesn’t change anything.” She reiterated. “I think you know that as well as I do. And if this is why you asked me to come earlier, then I’m sorry. I don’t know what you were expecting.”
Tommy shook his head. “I don’t know.” He admitted. She was right, he had no idea what he was expecting when he confronted her. Certainly, he didn’t expect her to get down on her knees and beg him to cancel the wedding. That wasn’t like Kate in the slightest. Maybe he hoped she would clarify things. Tell him that she wasn’t in love with him, it was simply a joke. But she was far too honest.
“Then, I would urge you to put it behind you.” She took in a shaky breath and straightened up. “You want things to run smoothly for the wedding.”
He watched her pick up a sweater to throw on over her dress. It felt like a punch in the gut when he caught the scent of her jasmine perfume. Mostly because he realized for the first time that he recognized it as hers. “Yeah.” He muttered.
“This place is beautiful, Tommy, maybe you should consider this a step in the right direction. You’re finally getting what you wanted.” Kate forced a smile and stepped around him to leave the room. It felt as if she had been stabbed. But instead of crying out in pain, she simply removed the knife, tossed it aside, and placed a hand over the wound to hide it. She’d done this a million times, walk away with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face. It just had never hurt as much as it did with Tommy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grace greeted Kate like an old friend. It appeared she wanted things to go as smoothly as could be, just as Kate had implied upstairs. So, the tense stand off in Epsom was placed behind them.
Kate followed suit. She wasn’t going to make a scene; it wouldn’t be fair to anyone. She needed to keep a good reputation with everyone in the Shelby family, not just Tommy. And if she kicked up a fuss, then she risked the protection she needed.
So, things looked perfect on the outside. Kate was just a friend at the wedding, a work acquaintance even. And when the wedding came, Kate had been faking it long enough that she felt numb. Numb when they exchanged vows. Numb when they looked into each other’s eyes and kissed. Numb when everyone cheered for their union. She simply smiled and clapped along.
Utterly numb.
~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a good thing drinks were flowing at the reception because Kate was starting to get worn out. She desperately wanted to leave, go back to Birmingham to lick her wounds, but she promised Tommy she’d be there. So, she sucked it up and grabbed a flute of champagne whenever a waiter passed her by.
Polly found her after dinner and Arthur’s disaster of a speech. They stood together watching people dance and generally have a good time. No one else seemed to have a qualm about the marriage. It was all in good fun.
“She’s not pregnant, you know,” Polly said before taking a sip of her drink.
“How do you know?” Kate wasn’t about to jump on any information like that, even if it was coming from Polly.
“I’ve seen enough pregnant women and helped birth enough children to know.” The older woman replied. “But Tommy won’t listen to me.”
It wasn’t much of a surprise that Grace had lied. But lying about a pregnancy was something entirely different. Kate chewed on her lip. “Well, it probably won’t change anything.” She sighed and frowned when she saw the bottom of her glass.
“Why wouldn’t it?” Polly challenged although she kept a level tone. It was risky to be talking about the bride and groom in such an open space. “That’s why he married her.”
“No, he married her because he’s still in love with her. And that won’t change.”
Polly looked over at her. “I know you’ve been upset all day.” She said in a gentler voice. “Is there something I need to know?”
Kate shook her head. “I’m happy. Tommy’s a friend and he’s found happiness. Why wouldn’t I be happy?”
“Hm.” Polly wasn’t convinced but didn’t push the subject. “Tommy needs you outside.”
“Why?”
“Well, while you’ve been so happy, there’s been business going on under your nose,” Polly explained. “Go on, now.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
Kate stepped outside as one of Tommy’s cars pulled up. He parked and got out. “Are you supposed to go off-site on your wedding day?” She asked.
“I had business,” Tommy replied as he shut the door.
“Business, right, Polly said something about that.” Kate wrapped her arms around herself to keep warm in the chilly night air.
“It’s business about what Churchill wants me to do.” He said and stopped right in front of her. “I wouldn’t have you involved except you were there in the field that day.”
“So now I’m involved by default, fantastic.”
Tommy didn’t seem to be in the mood for her attitude. “I don’t have a fucking choice in this matter. Are you going to help me or not?” He demanded.
Kate pursed her lips and glared at him. “Not if you’re going to talk to me like that.” She went to turn away but he grabbed her by the arm.
“This is serious.” He snapped in a low voice. “My family is at risk and that involves you too.”
“I’m not a part of your family.”
“But you need my family to stay together. Or it’ll be back to playing hide-n-seek across the globe with that Italian of yours.”
Kate ripped her arm away from his grip. “Are you threatening me?” She hissed. “Tommy Fucking Shelby, King of the world. I forgot you can threaten whoever you want. Oh, except for Churchill though, because you’re right under his thumb, aren’t you? He says jump and you say ‘how high?’.”
“You’ve never questioned me before. You’ve dealt with Alfie Solomons because I asked you to. Now you’re acting like this because of what you said to me? Because you said you loved me, aye? Now you’re kicking off?” His voice rose. The night was really starting to wear on him and he just wanted it to be over.
“How dare you?”
“Don’t-” He groaned and ran a hand over his eyes.
“Did I kick off? Or did I sit there in that church without saying anything? Did I play nice with your wife? I kicked off? Because I questioned you!?” She shouted, her voice bouncing off the nearby architecture.
Tommy paced a few steps away from her, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You don’t know the position I’ve been put in.”
“You’ve put yourself in that position, Tom. No one else put you there. That’s what happens when you keep pushing. Someone takes advantage of you.”
“My family will fucking hang if this doesn’t go right.” Tommy dropped his hand from his face to look at her. “Forget about me, forget about whether you think I deserve or not. Does anyone else in my family deserve it? Polly, Arthur, John, Finn, Ada? Aye? Should they hang?”
Kate went quiet because he’d hit a nerve. She loved Tommy but she loved his family too. They had taken her in and made her feel at home. They gave her more reasons to smile than anyone else did. No, she wouldn’t let them be tried for the crimes of Tommy Shelby. “Fine.” She muttered. “I’ll help you, whatever you need me to do. But you will not speak to me like that.”
Tommy nodded. “Fine.”
She held his gaze for a long bit. “Do you want to know why I care about you?” She decided to leave out the word ‘love’.
It had piqued Tommy’s interest. He assumed a woman like Kate was smart enough to avoid a man like him. Romantically, at least. Business-wise, she was very savvy. So, he thought she was wise enough to keep her feelings professional. “Okay.”
“Because you protected me. No one else has ever put themselves at risk for me.” Her eyes flicked to the ground before she took a deep breath. “I think that’s admirable. And I can only assume it’s why Grace loves you too. You deserve happiness, Tommy.” She nodded, content that she had said as much as she could muster. She turned around and headed back to the reception.
“You deserve happiness too, Kate,” Tommy called after her.
“No, I don’t.” She whispered to herself. “Not after everything I’ve done.”
