Personal Friend Zine

I don't have a specific design in mind this week, but I did make a lot of progress on a friendship zine this past weekend. Being new to the zine making world, I truly didn't know where to start or how to tackle this personal art project.

But after browsing through Pinterest, I was inspired by the collage aspect of certain designs. Instead of a clean cut, digitally designed zine- I was gravitating towards designs that reminded me junk journaling and crafting.

Layering of different papers. Pens. Markers. Pencils. Writing over images. Magazines. Paper bags. The list goes on!

This is a simple meal but with an overwhelmingly price. It is designed to serve the rich people, to offer a sense of superiority over regular fries.

From sketch to monogram. After some bad and really bad ideas for a monogram that combines my initials J and W, I finally ended creating something I actually enjoy. I was getting frustrated that I wasn't getting anywhere and I knew that I had to drop all the constraints and just sketch out whatever comes to my mind. As soon as I drew this one out, using a Faber-Castell brush pen, I couldn’t stop grinning, I finally had something that could get digitised! So I took a picture and took it into Illustrator, I tried working around the Golden Ratio. The monogram still need some tweaking, but so far so good.

[Week 04 - Tech Thoughts] 

Customer Discovery: Interview Planning and Hypothesis Testing

Week four’s discussion, which was also the first of the live lecture series was initiated by Ms Diane D. Eustaquio, an insightful discussion about customer discovery. She mentioned the critical points of formulating the right questions to familiarize better and know the target market of any startup company and how the hypothesis helps in visualizing the outcomes of the product/service from a customer’s point of view.

We were then tasked to interview three strangers to represent our general market and formulate the right questions and construct a hypothesis. Our team took time to interview these individuals and ask them the questions we thought would help us get to know them better as individuals and prospective consumers of our application - NavigaTour.

We asked about their demographics, why they visit malls in CDO, their choice of malls, their decision making processes, and their wants, desires, or goals. We then aligned our product according to the responses of the people we’ve interviewed. Further, we created a hypothesis that mentions what would have happened if our consumers utilize our product.

The task was sort of time-consuming as we had to take the time to understand their perspective and analyze their responses and ensure whether or not they aligned with the team/company’s goals and objectives.

Overall, it was an excellent way for us to realize where we can improve and what we can do to cater to our future consumers’ needs.

skincare routin ala ala

Hae gaes~~

Mencoba eksis seperti mamak milenial lain nya, kali ini gue akan menulis yang isinya 80% kurang ada faedah nya yakni skinker rutin ala ala byuti vlogger (pret 😂).

Tobe honest gue termasuk yang rada telat pake skincare sih, berdasarkan info yang gue dapat bahwasanya pemakaian skincare pada perempuan itu paling tepat dimulai di umur 20an. Why? Karena pada usia 20an, kulit lebih cepat kering dan banyak masalah karena pengaruh ketidakstabilan hormon dalam tubuh. Selain itu, aktivitas yang mulai meningkat membuat banyak terpapar polusi dan radiasi sinar UV A dan UV B dari lingkungan. Ciyeh, ude keliatan pinter belum ngomongin ginian? btw gue dapet info nya dari sini yha 😂😂

Sebenernya gue udah beberapa kali nyoba nyoba skincare (tapi tetep telat karena baru mulai di awal 30an) dari mulai skincare premium yang digadang-gadang best ever asian skincare yang toner nya dijuluki "magic water" yang mana kulit gue terlalu ndeso sehingga yang terjadi adalah breakout jerawatan dan bikin gue males lanjut (dan males beli lagi karena nanti dompet jerit-jerit segitu juga alhamdulillah waktu beli milih nya yang ukuran sample 😂) sampai skincare yang ringan banget (secara harfiah di kulit muka gue dan pun di dompet gue 😗) yang saking ringan nya ya gak ngaruh apa apa juga dikulit gue 😂.

Dan berikut adalah skincare yang lagi gue pakai beberapa waktu terakhir:

1. Micellar Water - Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Pure Active

Ini sebenernya bukan item yang gue pakai tiap hari sih. Gue hanya pakai ini saat abis make up serius aja. (Ceileh cem bisa aeee make up serius 😂😂😂). Micellar Water ini adalah cairan pembersih yang tekstur nya ringan kayak air. Saat dipakai pun terasa ringan, gak bikin lengket dan berminyak dan terasa segar di kulit.

2. Face Wash - Emina Dot Brush

Sabun cuci muka dari Emina ini memang terasa ringan dan cukup lembut, tapi setelahnya memang kulit terasa lebih kering. Ada gak sih sabun cuci muka yang setelah pake tuh gak bikin kulit kenceng? Gue pernah pake Cetaphil tapi rasanya kayak yaudah aja giti, gak berasa cuci muka 😂. Gue penasaran sama facewash nya Nature Republic dibawah ini sih, pengen nyoba tapi nunggu yang ini abis dulu deh 😗

3. Face Scrub - Emina Sugar Rush Face Scrub

Ini gue pake kalo lagi inget aja. Dan kalo lagi gak males 😂. Face Scrub itu fungsinya untuk exfoliate gitu alias mengangkat sel sel kulit mati. Face Scrub dari Emina itu sendiri berbahan dasar alami yaitu Granulated Sugar ditambah Olive Oil. Kalo di gue, pas pake kulit berasa lebih anget dan gak disarankan untuk di gosok yah sist.. nanti iritasi.. di usap usap gak niat aja sebentar, diemin sampe berasa menyerap baru bilas bersih.

4. Mudmask - Jafra Mudmask

Inipun sama macen face scrub diatas, gue pake cuma pas lagi inget dan lagi rajin ajah. Diluar ini banyak sih mudmask-mudmask lain yang lagi happening semacem Freeman atau St. Yves, gue belum nyoba karena yang ini aja belom abis abis dari taun kemaren 😐.

5. Toner - Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner

Ini gegara ke 'mure' an gue saat buka yutub yang diliat ya byuti vlogger. Gue jadi penasaran sama si Benton yang katanya cocok disemua jenis kulit (esp berminyak) dan gue pun memberanikan diri untuk membeli versi share nya yang banyak bertebaran di marketplace indo. Ya emang. Gue anaknya super irit dan hogah rugi. #bangga 😂. Sebenernya lebih ke sayang kalo sampe gak cocok dan kebuang sih 😯 #tetepngelespadahalmedit.

Toner ini gue lebih sering pake tanpa kapas karena gue anaknya oemalas aja sih alesan nya. Jangan di tiru yha. Tapi sofar gue seneng sih sama si Toner ini. Berasa seger tapi gak tajem di kulit. Mengembalikan kekenyalan setelah cuci muka pake facewash.

6. Essence - Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

Ini essence juarak sih buat gue. Dikulit berasa kenyal dan lembut tapi gak lengket karena nyerap nya cepet banget. Setelah pakai ini selama beberapa wakru, gue merasa kulit wajah jadi lebih ternutrisi aja gitu, jadi lebih seger. Will definitely buy full size nya. ❤❤❤

7. Lotion - Benton Snail Bee High Content Lotion

Ini share jar paling awet dari seri Benton yang gue punya. Gue rada kurang favorit sih sama ini produk. Menurut gue kayak too oily gitu dan pas gue pake rada kurang nyaman, jadi biasa gue pake dikiiit banget cuma buat basa basi busuk ajah 😂.

8. Moisturizer - Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Shooting Gel

Ini juga jadi salah satu produk kecintaan gue setelah Benton Essence sih. Bener-bener gel serbaguna karena bisa dipakai sebagai moisturizer, alas bedak, sleeping mask sampai buat ilangin kering kering di tumit maupun siku. Saat dipakai terasa sensasi dingin, cukup cepat merasap di kulit dan efek setelah pemakaian kulit terasa lebih lembut dan dewy.

Naaaah.. itu tadi rangkaian skincare routin ala ala gue. Untuk saat ini hasilnya di gue ya masih begini begini aja, gak tetiba kulitnya jadi semulus Song He Kyo juga seeeh tang mentang pake ploduk koryah 😂😂😂 tapi atleast daku ada sedikit usaha buat merawat kulit yang bentar lagi rentan kerut dan flek hitam yhaa hahahahah 😐

Semoga meskipun sedikit, ada faedah yang bisa dipetik, salah satunya : biasakan membeli versi sample ataupun share saat coba-coba skincare karena kulit kita bisa aja ndeso dan gak cocok pake ploduk mahal yess.. daripada mubazer gak kepake yekaaan.. yatapi kalo cocok tinggal repurchase aja versi fullsize nya 😘

Week 04: Something Awesome Bandit Game Levels 18 - 19

Level 18 -> 19

Logged in and was immediately kicked out with a message byebye! Hmm

Password for the next level is stored in a file called readme in the homedirectory

Someone modified .bashrc to log you out when you log in with ssh

Does this mean I have to work on this level while logged into bandit17?

So I logged back into level 17, but I couldn’t find find readme

I tried cd .. to go back a directory, and cd /bandit18 to get into the bandit18 folder

I can see the file but I can’t open it

Taking a break 6:30pm

Back at 6:50pm, I’m stumped

Update 7:03pm - So I googled how to stop .bashrc from running

I found a forum page with this exact scenario, where .bashrc disconnected you once you ssh’d in. It didn’t mention CTF bandit game at all, so maybe it was just a coincidence.

I tried su bandit18, it didn’t work

I tried ctrl+c the moment I logged on, but that didn’t work

Someone in the forum said you can pass commands after the ssh line so I tried

ssh bandit18@bandits.lab.overthewire.org -p 2220 cat readme

It worked! Got the password

Level 19 -> 20

I read up on setuid

There’s a file called bandit20-do, which can allow you to run a command as bandit20?

So I guess I need to find my id? and bandit20′s id?

I tried id, it said my uid was 11019, I assume bandit20′s uid is 11020

./bandit20-do 11020 doesn’t do anything, says there’s no such file 

Huh, I tried ./bandit20-do cat /etc/bandit_pass/bandit20 and I got the password

Reflection: What did I learn

You can pass in commands after the ssh commands, on the same line 

setuid, allows temporary elevated privileges to perform some tasks

Week04 HW #3 - 2 Flags

As someone with a growing collection of matcha tins, it would be ridiculous of me to not make a MATCHA FLAG.

On the left side is a design following flag rules. We have three colors: off-white, a shade of matcha green, and a darker shade of green. In the center of the flag is the handle and center of a matcha whisk. Surrounding these two whisk components are matcha leaves. The handle of the whisk also has a circle to represent matcha's Japanese origin. Finally for the background of the flag, we have a wave of green to represent matcha when it's whisked with water.

On the right side is a design breaking two flag rules: only using 2-3 colors and no lettering or seals. To represent the Japanese origin of matcha, I added Japan's signature red dot/sun into the background. And just in case someone is not familiar to matcha, I added the Japanese characters/translation for matcha in the upper left corner of the flag.

Week 4: Tutorial - Secret

So you are a Google Security Engineer setting up a new research lab. 

What are the main things that need to be protected and the key features of the physical design.

Key features: 

Method of storing the data: private servers, internal network. 

Method of accessing data - encryption of hard drives, airgap the network, entry requirements such as biometrics. 

Physical gates, passes for entry and 24/7 security - Ensure that security following procedures so if someone impersonates as an authorised person they must have proof, try not to be social engineered or provide tutorials of how not to be socially engineered. 

Corruption - Make employees sign NDAs and understand if anything is leaked then there will be consequences. 

Make sure that personal information of employees such as location, full names, extensions are not provided to anyone. 

Consider other possible points of entry and access levels for employees - if the employee doesn’t need to be there then they do not need access. 

Confiscation fo electronics - when entering facility all electronics are taken and everything will be provided.

Not all brands have monograms. Some have built their presence with their wordmarks/logotypes. It is usually a distinct text-only typographic treatment of the name of a company, institution, or product name used for purposes of identification and branding. The wordmark becomes a visual symbol for the brand.

Week 04 - Apologies for not posting the Part 2, was unable to do so

Actual Status Updates:

Progress? This week I spent it working on doing the line art and preparing it for coloring (which I am doing over the weekend and finishing a little next week along with starting the next piece). I was unable to finish the line art during class due to me running out of time, but I will finish it along with the coloring in my free time before next week!

Adjustments? Generally, I did not change anything significant both appearance and procedure-wise, but detailing wise I did change the position of some hands, but it isn’t quite noticeable.

Challenges? The less amount of time was a challenge for me as well as the fact that my hand got tired after a while of sketching and using my hand. Though there is a simple solution that I could give my hands a break once in a while to make sure it does not cramp or shake so the finished product would look as good as possible, but that would cause my time to actually work on it to decrease. My time may decrease, but I will still be able to accomplish those things in my free time and will manage it better in the upcoming weeks. This piece specifically will take longer than the other pieces of the masterpiece because it has the most characters in details. In the upcoming weeks, I expect it to use less time since there are fewer characters and details.

Overall Progress:

Still on track? Derailed from the track a little, but I will make my way back on track in the upcoming days I will use out of my free time to finish the big piece and begin working on the small, minimal pieces that will be easier to draw and finish. 

What are you going to do next week? Next week I’m planning on finalizing this big piece and begin the smaller pieces, starting with Mulan and transitioning to the next pieces as the weeks go by. As a reminder, I am only spending 2 weeks on each piece so that I could split the time evenly.   

Announcements and Other:

Apology? My big apologies for forgetting to update the Part 2 out of 2 for Week 03. I completely forgot but as you can tell from this update, there were significant changes. I changed the posing of some characters, removed some characters and added some characters. All in all, I finished the sketch entirely for the biggest piece. Once again, I apologize.

Ohya, kenapa saya sebut ini resep untuk pemalas, soale dulu pernah coba bikin kulit risoles dan bawaan nya esmosi jiwa karena ribet dan kalo salah takeran adonan jadi gampang sobek. Dengan menggunakan roti yg di pipihkan ini sangat2 menghemat waktu lohh 😂.
