My first drawing of Rauru and Sonia. Yay :D
In order to make my AU a little more interesting, I decided to make a couple of changes to the lore of the original game. And inspired by the Tailed Beasts from Naruto, I came up with this idea:
I will not go into too much detail, but I will say that once there were seven huge beasts that stood guard Hyrule. However, Demise wanted to take them under control by taking away their tears. As a result, the beasts (except the Light Dragon, which could not be transferred to the dark side) had to be sealed, and their tears given for safekeeping to the sages, including Rauru and Sonia. After a while, the Divine Beasts were created...
All this sounds quite interesting, but being relatively unfamiliar with the lore of Zelda games, I’m afraid that with my headcanons I will make the story of my comic as confusing as the story of FNAF. So it’s only a matter of time before the seven Divine Beasts remain in my AU. Maybe if I study the lore more closely, I can improve this idea…

In my totk swap au when Zelda finds all the Poe Collocters and gets the Tunic of Memories she's like. Woaagg my girlfriends shirt...
And then she uses it as pajamas .
I also replayed the Lucky Gazette quest line and in this au I'm. Not sure how people would describe link? Like for Zelda they say they saw a blonde haired lady . Would Link have some other descriptor??? Bright blue eyes maybe? Either way Ganon's Link puppet would def be a . Mini boss fight. That'd be sooo cool omg.

thinking abt linebeck’s coat. something very alluring about it for some reason. so im just gonna ramble about it here instead of in the tags for once
you can probably start a fight between the people who think it’s a coat and people who think it’s a jacket but i think it’s a coat moving on
the character designs are interesting to look at due to the proportions and art style so it is hard to imagine how long his coat would be but i think it would go down to a bit above ankles because i think that’s good. it’s a bit more dramatic a bit more impressive(?) that way and would probably lead to problems tbh
based on some of the official art i imagine that the stripe at the bottom might’ve been a late addition since it’s missing in the bit of official art most used to represent linebeck. tbh linebeck is inconsistent in very tiny ways in the official art but that’s mostly if you’re gonna be nit-picky or bored enough to notice
his coat is so good it’s simple but very recognizable and stands out among the other character designs in ph and its just. yknow good character design
its also surprisingly good for headcanons and stuff and because i mostly take a lot of canon as suggestion i have a good handful of headcanons tagged specifically onto his coat (one of which is the length of it ig)
i like to imagine that he made it himself. i’ve seen stuff where people write linebeck as being able to fix link’s tunic when it gets torn and i feel like the logical extreme of that is that he made his own coat. i think that adds a layer of. importance to it? it’s unique it’s solely linebeck’s it’s tied to him because he made it with his own hands and maybe it can represent something about him that way?
i like to imagine that in addition to the normal pockets one the outside he’s got a whole lot of little pockets on the inside of the coat, like so many pockets that he hides little trinkets or tools or things he steals in either to keep or to take back to his ship for whatever reason. some of the pockets have little flaps of whatever they’re called that can be secured in place with a small button to keep stuff in
he’s got like pencils and a compass and little notes and tiny figurines and cool rocks and feathers and all kinds of little things he thought was worth keeping around and due to that his coat is uncomfortable sometimes but if he knows for certain he’s going to be busy doing stuff he’ll empty out all of the pockets and only leave the important stuff so that it’s lighter and less uncomfortable. link finds his coat lying around at some point and is caught so badly off-guard by how surprisingly heavy it is with all of the bullshit he keeps in all of his pockets
i also imagine he values it a lot, maybe to the point of being really possessive and protective of it, not letting link touch it and if it gets torn or stained he shuts down and has to fix it before he can move on to anything else, and if he can’t fix it at the time it leave him kind of overwhelmed or upset until he can fix it. he has a lot stocked-up materials specifically for his coat to avoid a situation where he has to go for while with his coat damaged
backing away from headcanon territory, his coat is just a cool bit of character design and has just been lodged in my mind for a while. its cool and never brought up within the game (obviously) and i guess a last little closing thought is that in the cutscene where oshus teleports link above linebeck it kinda looks like his coat moves when he tries to catch link and i think that’s cool
#afraid of clogging ph tag so ill just tag this as#linebeck#character development not hiding in the tags this time#salty talks#this is how i talk on discord but i fear initiating social interaction so heres this#im in some kind if weird denial ever since that last totk trailer bc i think ive been lowkey constantly overwhelmed ever since seeing it#ugh. i miss linebeck. totk scares me and so does the fact that i cant get myself to be as excited as everyone else seems to be able to be#typing this was painful bc i turned off my autocorrect on my phone a while back bc it fucking sucked and now its like#man i am bad at typing on a phone holy SHIT#coat post thinking about linebeck helps me feel good. also projection he’s my go-to for projection when like anything happens#i imagine his coat as like. a comfort item to some degree. like it’s something he made himself and he’s had it for a very long time#like i have a comfort item or two of my own so its like. yeah i get how it feels to worry about it getting damaged or lost#so within the bounds of my ideas linebeck cares about his coat in a similar manner he does his ship. hes autistic abt both of them#his scarf falls into this category too but that actually has more actual backstory about it bc i can’t be normal about anything about him#still talking in the tags. oh well. im going to snap#i have planned a 17 chapter linebeck backstory. this is not related to that but i feel like its worth just. mentioning#i could probably make his coat represent some aspect of his identity if i wanted. like. maybe its a representation of what he really wants#i keep the coat in most au designs but the two au designs that dont have the coat are where linebeck’s identity is a bit fucked

Local resident Zonai knower, I have no knowledge about the Zonai and I've tried to engage in the theories but it's a complete and utter rabbit hole. I presume you know about the Zonai theories so I have to ask either where can I find the basic info or what is the basic info? I recently got the Barbarian Armour Set (I do agree it's very odd they're referred to as war-like and barbarians but setting that aside) and I've been looking at the ruins in Faron so an interest has been ignited within me.
pffft, I do not consider myself much of a Zonai expert, I haven't studied the theories or anything, but the thing about the Zonai is that we really don't know much about them at all. What they looked like, why they made mazes all around Hyrule, or what even happened to them. But, coincidentally, I am working on my own interpretation of them for my Priestesses AU and that involves a little bit of studying what we do know about them on my part so, without further ado, onto the lore and theories!
First of all, let's start with what we can infer directly from the game, they are often described as 'savage' and 'warlike', (which seems like Hylian racism if you ask me...) but that doesn't mean they were primitive or anything, they were had strong magic and invented rubber, a technology that was lost with them. (Though that's only implied as it's an 'ancient material' with the ability to create it being long lost and all the parts being found in Faron... it's not a hard inference to make.)
The statues that are scattered around Faron correlate to the pieces of the triforce or the golden goddesses, implying that they were what was worshipped instead of Hylia. There are primarily owls for Nayru, suggesting that they greatly valued wisdom, the dragon around the spring of courage and generally decorating a lot of their stonework, and a few boar heads here and there, though they seem less important and are much harder to find. (also creating a champion states that they worshipped a water dragon, and we've seen a water dragon in Faron before... cough cough sksw cough) Anyway, they seem to be a very spiritual people ignoring all the synonyms of 'savage' Nintendo shoehorns into their descriptions.
One of the most popular theories about the Zonai are that they are connected/ evolved from the Twili. This is mostly derived from the fact that the MIRROR OF TWILIGHT (or a replica) sits broken into several pieces around Palmore Ruins, the fact that Typhlo exists surrounded by an eternal shadow, and the idea that they have a very similar black and teal aesthetic going on. In Zelda we've seen races evolve over time, Kokiri into Koroks, the Zora just in general, all the monsters. So it's not crazy to think that some Twili had to adapt to live in the light world, at least they found a bunch of trees in a rainforest that has frequently overcast weather to help them avoid the light.
The idea that they were 'warlike' really bothers me though, you can see fragments of the Zonai everywhere but especially with the Sheikah and the Koroks. Those little metal blocks that the Koroks use for puzzles? they have the Zonai crest on them. A bunch of Zonai ruins surrounds so many ancient shrines, their labyrinths are probably made to house some of these shrines. They have towers far outside what would've been considered their domain. They clearly got along with at least a few people.
In any case, they were heavily associated with being magical 'savages' who disappeared suddenly, with no one really knowing what had happened to them, or if they did, it has long been lost to time. Knowing how well religiously centered monarchies treat indigenous people, it's likely far grimmer than just ditching the light world you know? (I have a feeling that with their connection to the sheikah, they could've been made an example out of by the King, as they were more resistant to stopping their technological advancements, with their histories erased and villanized by the royal family, but there isn't really much evidence for this, just my own ideas until more info comes out, the 10k king does seem threatened by entire races of people who are advancing the world...)
Side note: It's also possible that the descendants of the Zonai moved to Lurelin, as their little swirly icon can be seen in the beach town, slightly augmented over time but still recognizable. Perhaps they kinda just merged with the Hylians nearby.
I'm sure we'll get more information about them once TotK comes out, it seems to be pulling from the Zonai aesthetic a little too much to not include more lore about them.
Here's the Zelda Wiki about them if you want it

I hate taiten they made me think about my stupid au again and especially the post-botw pre-totk world where Tenma doesn't hunt down his memories and is still inexplicably drawn to him not even on purpose but he's traveling and boom it happens to be where the Stable Trotters are performing (wanwan combi are in the troupe in this ver of au) or he visits Yuki and Taichi just happens to be visiting at the same time and their lil souls are in love and always looking for each other but Tenma doesn't have any of those memories that Taichi does, just instinct and well i just.

Context: after Vah Medoh broke out of her imprisonment, Rito village began a real chaos, as a result of which it was completely destroyed. Tulin and his mother managed to escape unharmed, but Teba, Kass, and many other Rito were seriously injured. After exploring the ruins of the village, Tulin found a lot of dead bodies there, which left a deep impression on his young innocent mind. Craig, who had become a Rito after teleporting into the world, decided to support the little boy, and Penn offered the guys help to find out what the giant bird was and how to defeat her.
Once again I remind you that this is concept art for my crossover AU comic, where characters from South Park teleported to Hyrule and are now forced to take part in saving the world. I already showed Token and Clyde, only Tweek left.

Like okay I had a break down over Lady Impa while writing this story haha, the joys of actually exploring crossover aus and looking up to realize the colossal abyss you've dug yourself in
Tumblr media

Baby girl... oh my god
Home girl lost her best friend and her family and her purpose to live all in one fucking night and for 100 years she watches her ward Zelda fighting this fucking monster and she can't do jack shit but wait for Link's ass to wake up but that doesn't mean this woman's gonna let shit go to waist no sir. and like yeah she's old but that's not gonna stop her and NO she is NOT going to use the weird rejuvenating serum that her fucking sister made because she can do it by herself thank you very much! (it's totally not because she'd be the younger sister again plus some sibling angst that's i've been thinking up an)
*cough cough* I mean whaaaaaat?
seriously though sound off in the bottom i found another sad old person to fixate over
