Six sketch sunday
Thanks so much for tagging me @thewholelemon
I actually have something pretty exciting to share if i do say so myself!
In november 2022 i did a master study of romeo and juliet by frank bernard dicksee. I was very happy with it. But over time I’ve become less and less happy with it, specifically how baz looks :((
This is due to the fact that i traced A LOT in late 2022 (I was 15 ok, I’m sure we’ve all had one of those phases😭) I traced the whole painting, but baz was hard bc the original painting featured a woman, and her whole figure was covered by a white loose dress. 2022 me did their best interpreting the shapes and forming a new body for baz, but honestly they didn’t do it very well. Ive hated Baz’s face and body for a while now, but still loved simon and the painting in general. Which is why I came to the conclusion that for me to be at peace and happy with it again, I have to remaster it!
And again I’ve had this on my mind for a while now, mulling it over, because it’s quite a big project. But 7 days ago i finalized my decision and started looking at references and whatnot. It took me so long to find references bc I was confused of the angle of Juliet’s head in the original painting (so I’ve changed the angle whoops) and i needed to make sense of it all. Before i knew it i had spent 5 hours (according to procreates tracker) drawing, and literally nothing had changed.. but then i spent like 2 hours more and THAT did it. It was like digging a whole in the ground searching for water. You dig a little and nothing happens, and when you finally dig deep enough the water reveals itself like a goldmine.
Anyways, i haven’t gotten around to do any recoloring yet, so ill show you the sketch (ahem, traced) of my 2022 version versus what I have now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one on the left is the 2022 version. The one on the right is the current sketch.
I’m trying to incorporate a lot more body language from baz this time around. I think the old sketch of baz was very rigid. His torso is very short 💀 my biggest issue was his face though. It was far too feminine. The bone structure wasn’t exactly giving baz, in fact the whole face didn’t look like baz to me. The expression also bothered me, it was too superficial. Like it’s exactly the predictable expression you expect him to have. I tried to spice it up in the new version by making him appear a bit more anguished. It’s romeo and juliet after all.
Im currently looking at references to what clothes he should be wearing (don’t worry, i wont cover up his sleeves. Even if it’s more time period accurate) so if y’all have any inspo or suggestions, feel free to share them with me!
While baz is the inly thing getting completely redone, I’m also touching up some other thins. Just giving it a more refined, finished look overall. The plants in the original were really messily done, so i’m gonna work a lot on those. 2022 me also slacked on the curtains, so I’m repainting those to match the original frank bernard painting.
Once I’m done with it all i think i might sell some prints. Ive gotten requests to sell prints of this one before, but never really got around to do more than research. If i do make prints, I’m a bit worried they’ll all go to waste bc they’ll have to be shipped from denmark, and shipping in expensive :(( (I’ve tried to set up middlemen and it didn’t work for me. Red bubble wont even allow me to add a credit card😬) but if y’all are still interested in prints, do let me know! Ill definitely put in more of an effort to make it happen if i know it wont be in vain :))
Thats all from me for today :3 see ya next time
(Also check out what my COBB partner @thewholelemon is doing! It’s gonna be so good!)

Rules: Make a 24 hour poll with the names of your WIPs, let it run, then work for 10 minutes for every vote the winner receives.
Thank you for the tag, @angelcasendgame!!!!! I am not sure I will be able to work on anything very soon just because life came after me again, and turns out I'm gonna be moving over the next month or so, but I really do hope I can find time!!
None of these have names yet lol. I put the SPN ones first, but technically I've been trying to break my writer's block by returning to The Great Gatsby (It's all Nick/Gatsby btw, just realized that might not be immediately evident) with limited success. It's always come easier for me. But all of this is stuff I do actively want to work on.
Ohh I don't know who to tag. I'm sure everyone in this circle has been tagged already, and most of the people I talk to regularly enough to know about their projects have more or less left Tumblr... I do absolutely want to pass this your way though, @antique-ro-man!! (It's Wes, btw!) I also wanna tag @heyfagbutt! And then anyone else who sees this and wants to participate, I also encourage it!! This is such a cool idea :D !!
Long, rambling explanations down here ⬇⬇
I think the name is pretty explanatory? The gist of it is they go after the same guy and become pseudo-enemies but they keep bumping into each other like this and decide to work together after a while 👍 this is a really bad hook LMAO. Anyway, I'm trying to build on the idea that they work REALLY well together when they do it intentionally but fail comically when they don't.
Pretty much what it says on the tin as well. No Supernatural AU. Dean goes to a community college to get a certification to help with his work elsewhere, but Cas, a figure drawing model, catches him drawing (which Dean's been doing on and off as a hobby) and tries to get him to sign up for the arts program.
I technically only have a summary of this, and I'm not entirely sure if I will write it all out, but I do want to at least put more time into the development before I dedicate to giving up on it bc of scope lol. I just have SUCH a soft spot for fake relationship AUs. Also, I just found out that while I have FINALLY aged into independent FAFSA eligibility, I am once again tax bracketed out. Anyway, financial abuse is real and I want to project my suffering onto Dean. Also immigrant Cas, but I haven't decided where I want him to be from yet. I think this has a lot of potential for some pretty hefty character redesigns too so it's also compelling to me from that angle. I guess I could also write it for TGG, but I did initially think of it for Destiel, so.
I don't know how to explain this one very well except that I had unhelpfully written "poolboy au" in my notes and then proceeded to forget what the hell I meant. This fic was an attempt to resurrect that but ended up being a funky modern West Coast re-imagining where Gatsby can't even "make it" as much as he wants to, and Nick can't find a place to live except for a less-than-legally rented pool house. It's not meant to be a full rewrite or anything though.
Uhhh yeah, I'm keeping the details private for this one ahaha but that's just because it wasn't supposed to be a big deal and I told a friend she would see what it was when it was done...like oh god probably a month ago at this point... My original scope for this was quite small, but research for it, indecision, and a nasty case of writer's block that I've had for nearly a year now have kept development a bit slow. Hopefully, I'll finish it before the year comes to a close.
I also don't know how to explain this one well other than "after being rejected by Daisy (Canon Divergent), Gatsby attempts to buy his way into a bewildered Nick's heart. Though the fic is from Nick's POV, Gatsby's just had his worldview shattered and is in a bit of denial, but instead of pursuing Daisy harder, he channels all of that energy into Nick (though he's not really sure why he's doing it at first). I wasn't sure what to put up at the top because I absolutely don't want my code name for this public at least until it's done LMAO.

And more info dumping. Part 5. It'll slow down for a few days while I work out some kinks in the plot and beef up some info I just glossed over. If I had to guess I might make two more of these entries, maybe three.
Also without spoiling this entry ends with a happy note for once!
The TWs are pretty mild in this one. It's just some mention of what happened to Jelani and I guess you could say some victim blaming.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Nuka World:
A few months passed and Varg came to visit. He, Jelani and Angelus spent hours just chatting away and Varg told the boys that he heard rumors that Nuka World had been attacked. Angelus was of course worried seeing as how he hadn't been to Nuka World in months. After Varg left Angelus told Jelani he needed to go back to Nuka World and Jelani said he'd go with him.
Once they arrived the raiders were weary of Jelani as he was an unfamiliar but Angelus vouched for him. Turns out that the plan to get rid of Colter went off without a hitch. Gage welcomed the new overboss and showed them the area and what they needed to do. Kiddie Kingdom had been cleared and given to The Pack but after that the new overboss was hanging around the market too much until one day everyone within the market came out guns blazing led by the overboss. Most of them died but several well placed bombs made short work of most of the gangs' members. The overboss was killed and before anyone could blink Gage had disappeared.
Nuka World was in shambles, leaderless, key figures were dead including Shank and anything could set off a civil war. The leaders of each gang had survived and while The Pack and The Operators tried their best to rebuild The Disciples just wanted blood. Many dead Pack and Operator members were blamed on Disciple members. There was an unspoken alliance between The Pack and The Operators but there was a lot of mistrust as well. Not one of the leaders thought to continue clearing the rest of the park or even continue with the plan. They were all in a stagnant stalemate.
Now, hanging around the outskirts of Nuka World were 2 other raider gangs. The War Birds, a gang formed from Commonwealth raiders that tried joining Nuka World but were rejected for whatever reason so the rejected got together to form their own gang. They'd occasionally attack Nuka World especially now that they knew they were weakened.
The other gang was The Syndicate. The leaders were Tyrone "Ty" Radek and Lamar Bourne. Their entire gang were remnants of descendants of people from the SAS and MI6 from London. This group in particular had flown across the ocean over 5 years ago and settled in Georgia but moved and soon found themselves near Boston. They were well trained, organized, and armed to the teeth with weapons in excellent condition and eager to use 'em. The Syndicate were sympathetic to Nuka World's situation but if they didn't ask them for help they weren't gonna bother.
Further from the outskirts were dozens of raiders and raider gangs dying to take over Nuka World especially after hearing about their misfortune. A massive group of Gunners had cleared out and taken over Bradberton and the power plant. Nuka World found itself between a rock and a hard place.
Normally Jelani couldn't be bothered to give a flying fuck about raiders. He'd been killing all kinds of raiders since he was 14-years-old and plenty of his caps were made from assassinating raiders. But he saw how Angelus was at the sight of his home and his gang in shambles and Jelani couldn't help but feel the need to somehow help. That first night Angelus said he was gonna permanently leave the gang as there was no fixing that mess. While Angelus slept Jelani did some research of his own and started to plan out ways to expand the gang's reach across the entire park. He went to Angelus with the plan and while grateful he told him they'd be on their own as none of the other gangs would even bother; not at that stage. Jelani said they just needed ammo and time, that just the two of them would be able to clear shit if they organized well and were careful.
Angelus went to Mason with the idea and while he was reluctant to trust an outsider again he said there was not much more damage Jelani could do so he had his gang hand over most of the ammo they had. It was a good sizable amount but Jelani preferred more so Angelus went to The Operators, specifically two of its members that he was friends with and more importantly friends that owed him a big favor. The twins Cass and Jazz agreed to talk to Mags on Angelus's behalf but it took a lot of convincing. In the end Jelani stepped up and promised the next location they cleared out belonged to The Operators. This swayed Mags so she relinquished a good portion of their ammo to Jelani and Angelus so they set off towards the Galactic Zone.
Having done his research Jelani knew that the robots within that section had gone haywire and were hostile to anything and everything that moved. In their inventory they had a few plasma grenades and mines but not enough to wipe them all out. So Jelani suggested they somehow draw the robots out to them, Angelus volunteered to run in, fire at them and then run back towards Jelani. Jela wasn't a fan of that idea but Angelus convinced him he was fast enough. So for 3 days and 2 nights they baited about 90% of the robots to run out and Jelani shot them down while Dagny kept patrol of the area for stragglers.
Once it was mostly safe to go in they found the mainframe which Jelani was a little more than enthusiastic about hacking into but without power being drawn into it it was lost. However, Angelus found some cores that powered it up. They found some and it was enough to get the defense systems shut down. Once it was completely safe Jelani, Angelus and Dagny returned to Nuka Town and went directly to Mags to tell her the Galactic Zone was hers. Impressed that the two of them managed to overtake the GZ and Jelani kept his promise Mags said that whatever he needed all he had to do was ask. The twins asked if they needed any extra hands and Jelani took them up on that offer as his next target was the zoo.
Before heading to the zoo Jelani asked Angelus if he could somehow arrange a meeting with The Syndicate, the more allies the better. Angelus agreed but told him that Radek was one of the leaders. Yeah, Jela got nervous and a little nauseous but he wanted to continue with the meeting.
Radek and Bourne heard him out and agreed that Nuka World was fucked so they agreed to help. They were honest and said they were getting bored and a little action might do them some good. Before leaving, Radek asked to talk to Jelani alone and apologized about their first encounter. Jelani just shrugged it off but Radek said that he thought Jelani's reaction was due to trauma but Jelani cut 'im off and said he was dealing with it.
You guessed it, he had a pretty bad nightmare that night but this time Angelus was there to help him through it.
The next day Radek, the twins and some Pack members met up with Jelani, Angelus and Dagny at the zoo. Cito and his family had been forced to leave and search for a new home due to the population of gatorclaws growing out of control. The beasts basically took over the zoo. At first Jelani mistook them for deathclaws and a rage he hadn't felt in a very long time possessed him. Some of the Pack members wanted to keep a few alive but that kinda went south when Jelani went a bit overkill with a few he bumped into. The idea of keeping a few alive kinda got scrapped when two Pack members were torn to shreds and eaten. This endeavor took damn near 2 weeks and used up a fuck ton of ammo. Once they dropped the population they found the cloning machine and removed the gatorclaw aspect from it. The Pack wanted to keep the machine working though as it could prove useful for duplicating animals for the purpose of entertainment.
The zoo naturally went to The Pack. With 2 locations under their control The Pack began to look favorably at Jelani. The Operators were still friendly but they reminded Jela not to forget about them and even hinted that they favored the Nuka Cola Bottling Plant for themselves as it seemed to be a standing monument to their beliefs. Jelani was going to tackle that one next but the meeting between him and Mags was disrupted when two of Nisha's goons called for him. While Mags didn't appreciate it she was sure she knew why she sent for him and told him not to worry.
Once they escorted Jelani and Angelus (who was forced to wait outside) Nisha basically began to threaten to "slowly kill him with a dull and rusty butter knife" if the next 2 locations weren't claimed for The Disciples. Jelani being Jelani didn't appreciate that one damn bit and the two basically got into a sort of back and forth of threats that amounted to a verbal dick measuring contest between the two. In the end Nisha said that she would be sending one of her guys with him and if the next 2 locations weren't hers he was ordered to kill Jelani on the spot. He left and the Disciple assigned to him, a big and muscular brute of a man named Otis, tailed him.
With the change of plans Jela snuck away to talk to Mags. He said he'd be clearing out Dry Rock Gulch and giving it to Nisha but that after that he was gonna clear the bottling plant for Mags. He was honest about Nisha's threats and while Mags couldn't do anything about it Jela said he told her just so she knew what was happening and to keep an eye out in case The Disciples tried anything cute.
Dry Rock was somewhat similar to the zoo in that it had an animal problem. However, the beasties were a problem due to how they attacked and traveled. Mags and Mason gave Jelani and Angelus more ammo and a few people to help, the twins Cass and Jazz returned. Otis was just there to keep an eye on Jelani. However, Jelani had Dagny follow from far and occasionally could be heard yelling commands in Norwegian to the little nightstalker. Otis kinda caught on and demanded he say what he was saying in English but Jelani ignored him. Dagny was basically ordered to tail Otis and watch him.
At Dry Rock the bloodworms had also grown in population and had basically taken over the section. Their soft bodies were easily shredded to pieces by bullets but their method of traveling and numbers made the ordeal a challenge which lasted long into the night. Once the root of the problem had been taken care of all they needed to do was get the stragglers that were roaming in the area. Everyone inside the park was relatively safe as the bloodworms learned to avoid the sound of gunfire but Otis who'd been outside the park and keeping watch had been snatched by the few remaining bloodworms. He obviously yelled for help and tbh letting him die would've made Jelani thrilled but there was no way Nisha would've believed her goon was eaten by the worms so he and the others rushed to save his ass.
Once the worms were dead they packed up and left back to Nuka Town to tell Nisha that her little gang could move into Dry Rock. When they were close to Nuka Town they noticed Otis was lagging really far behind. Out of some weird sense of misplaced compassion Jelani checked in on him and noticed all the bite marks. He actually tended to the wounds and noticed the big brute had been poisoned. After letting out the world's most annoyed groan and rolling his eyes Jelani actually treated the poison with some antidote he had, it was sort of a universal one so it would take time to heal. He also noticed Otis had hurt his leg pretty badly so Jelani took care of that too. After Otis regained some strength back they continued and Otis gave Nisha the news that Dry Rock was theirs. She ordered him to tail Jelani again but he said he wouldn't be able to with his injuries. After a massive bitch fit Nisha went to Jelani and threatened him again. And again Jelani and her got into an argument which ended in both walking away pissed off.
The last place that needed to be claimed was the Nuka Cola Bottling Plant. The plant had a unique problem though. It had become the new HQ for an off branch group of Gunners led by an unknown man in a mask. This group of Gunners were very heavily armed, very hostile and knew what they were doing. This was gonna be a problem as the only ones fit to effectively fight them were Jelani and The Syndicate. There were even rumors of ghosts running through the area of the plant. Jelani and Angelus sat down with Radek and Bourne and asked for reinforcements which they gladly gave due to their boredom and desire to get out there and do something. However, they requested a sit down with whoever ran Nuka World to join as allies. Jela was honest and said there wasn't anyone running Nuka World and that basically it was the leaders of the three gangs that sorta ran it. Radek and Bourne weren't too thrilled with that answer but they decided to help anyway.
The next day a dozen soldiers from The Syndicate arrived at Nuka Town to join Jelani, Angelus and Dagny. Cass and Jazz as well as a few Operators and a few more Pack members showed up. They wasted no time and marched on the Nuka Cola Bottling Plant.
*cue the Call of Duty montage!*
This shit took damn near 70 hours but with Jelani and Radek leading the assault they managed to steer a group of raiders to victory. The "ghosts" rumored to circle the plant were actually assaultrons using their cloaking abilities. This wasn't that big of an issue as Jelani sniped them from a distance using the thermal sight on his modified scope. Once they breached the plant itself they rushed forward and suffered some casualties due to traps set up by the Gunners but they managed to push through. The leader, the masked man, had barricaded himself in the upper control room but Jelani broke through with Dagny's help. She seemed overly protective of Jelani and very vicious once Jela found the masked man and confronted him.
The man began to laugh and said, "Back for more, kid?”
Jelani froze in place while Dagny backed up against him and snarled viciously as her tail rattled. He recognized that voice, it was seared into his brain. It was one of the voices that plagued his nightmares almost every night. The man removed his mask and sure enough it was one of the men that had raped him. More specifically the first one that started the assault. The man was gonna say something but Jelani woke up from his frozen state and emptied an entire clip of a pistol directly into his face. Angelus found Jelani pulling the trigger and breathing heavily as he cried and kept aiming the empty gun at the body a few feet in front of him. Angelus lowered his arm and hugged him while he tried to calm him down. Radek followed close by and walked in on them. He didn't understand what was going on but by the state of the body on the floor it was personal. Radek asked if Jelani was okay but he shook his head. Angelus asked if he was one of them and Jelani shakily said yes.
After a few minutes Jelani composed himself and noticed a map of the area on the wall with the plant and Bradberton circled. He figured the rest of the Gunners were there and if one of the men that assaulted him was there the rest might be there. Jelani simply reloaded his gun and said they needed to go to Bradberton town to wipe out the rest. When Jelani left Radek asked what the fuck was that. Angelus said that Jela had been attacked when he was 17 and the dead guy in the corner was one of them and left it at that as he went after Jelani. Radek ain't stupid though, he put two and two together and referenced that with the first time he met Jelani and understood what Angelus said.
NOTE: The entire encounter was more dramatic but this is an info dump, not story.
Jelani told one of the Operators to go to Mags and to let her know the plant was hers but they needed to take care of the Gunner problem or else it would come back to bite 'em in the ass. Jelani marched straight into Bradberton with a scorched earth determination. The town had far less Gunners but nevertheless he and the others gunned down the entire town. Jela was on the lookout for any familiar faces but didn't find anyone else. After half an hour Radek yelled out that one of them was making a break for it and Jelani spotted one of them running away. He and Dagny gave chase.
At the Northpoint Reservoir Dagny managed to catch up to the runaway Gunner and brought him down. He managed to get back up but a well placed .50 bullet right into his right knee put an end to his running. As he writhed in agony Jelani ordered Dagny to stand down though she acted as viciously as she did with the man at the plant. Jelani disarmed him and kicked him over. Turns out the leader of that group of Gunners was Christian.
Christian began to laugh when he recognized Jelani. Like the guy Jelani killed in the plant he mocked him and asked if he was back for another round and said all sorts of foul shit to Jela. How if he didn't want it to happen he would've fought harder, how it wouldn't have happened had he and his brother minded their own business, how Jelani liked being raped because he was touching himself when it happened (Christian forced him to do that while holding a knife to his throat) and other rancid shit to get a reaction out of Jelani.
Jelani was quiet and had a blank expression as he drew his knife and his pistol. He shot him twice on each antecubital fossa (socturns out that the name for the front area of the elbow lol) and cut his throat from ear to ear and left him to slowly bleed to death. After watching Christian agonize for a bit he left back to the town. Angelus was waiting for him and hugged him again. Jelani got teary eyed but honestly he was just numb. Didn't make him feel better, didn't suddenly mean he was cured of his PTSD, it didn't change the fact that it happened, wasn't gonna stop the nightmares or flashbacks/memories, sure as shit wasn't gonna mean just anyone could touch him and he wouldn't jump or anything but he felt a weird type of satisfaction knowing he killed 2 of the men that raped him.
Once they got back to Nuka Town The Pack and Operator leaders reported that Nisha had rebelled and taken over the power plant. All of Nuka World as well as The Syndicate stormed the power plant. In the end Nisha made her last stand and was gonna shoot Jela but Otis turned his gun on Nisha and blew her brains out instead. The day before taking the bottling plant Otis came to Jelani and told him Nisha had planned to kill him regardless of whether he gave The Disciples the plant or not but since Jelani helped him Otis went rogue but stayed undercover under Jelani's order.
Once the power plant was theirs they turned the power back on in the entire park. The Syndicate was welcomed as part of the main roster and all the leaders had a sit down to make Jela the new overboss given how he was the one that revitalized the idea to take over the park again and actually pulled through. However, he turned it down. He was adamant that one lone asshole leading the whole thing was a bad idea and suggested that all leaders should form a sort of council. Still though, they added him to the council due to all of his hard work and kind of made him overboss of the council. They still had a lot of work to do. There were other gangs and raiders itching to take over Nuka World and dozens of areas ripe with caps for them to take. Not to mention that with Jelani, Radek and Bourne's help they could shape up The Pack and The Operators into lethal raiders that could rival even the Gunners in terms of fighting for and defending Nuka World.
Jelani agreed to stay within the council but wanted to make it clear that he could come and go as he chose along with Angelus. It was agreed and so Jelani, Angelus, Dagny, Ayo and Alyona returned to Kingsport Lighthouse after speaking with Ginger through a ham radio. It'd been a few chaotic weeks and Jelani just wanted some peace and quiet.
Once they were at the Lighthouse, Ginger and Abigail told Jelani he had a visitor who was waiting for him in the kitchen of the main house. Jela was kinda puzzled but he went to check anyway. Dagny was sniffing around the front door and let out a few happy yaps as she rushed into the kitchen with her tail wagging wildly. Jelani called her but she rushed in and was jumping up on a man. He petted Dagny and laughed but when he saw Jelani he said, "Hei, lillebror (Hi, little brother)."
Jelani dropped everything he was holding onto, ran towards Loke and hugged him as tight as he could while gasping for air and repeating over and over again that he saw him die. Loke hugged him back as hard as he could and kept apologizing. Jelani sort of felt faint and both siblings fell to the ground when he lost his balance but kept hugging each other and crying into each other's arms. Loke wiped Jelani's tears away as he kept apologizing and kissing him repeatedly.

So before we pop into Nier Automata household again, we had something weird happen with 701 ZenView. Like the preview screen for the home had all of it’s furniture but when I thought to test and move someone in, because the lot said it had 0 value, I was like, “What, why?” And it turns out that somehow it was completely unfurnished! So I also went back in and saved the bathrooms and kitchen because I can accept the bedrooms and living rooms being completely barren but I like my plumbing and my kitchens to be set up, thank you very much!
2B is hungry. Why? I dunno. Something something uncontrolled Sims. Anyway, it’s a few hours until work for her so I have her take care of her needs. 9S is at an interesting part of his aspiration. He needs 50 romantic gestures towards his spouse and then 3 gold dates. I would but 2B has work to do. Have nothing really to do with 9S so uh, chess practice for his job, I suppose. ...he would have a Social Bunny, aka Twitter, though. 2B nah but 9S, absolutely. Time to work from home and it’s...research historic battles. Alrighty then. That’s easily done from home. After 2B finishes her yoga, we can do that. I checked the calender and oh fuck. It’s Geekcon. Of course it’s Geekcon. Annnd we got another Welcome Wagon thanks to the moving in and out for that one apartment. Nah, no thanks. Hmm. Don’t know when 9S is gonna wake up so we’re going to head off to fish somewhere with 2B! To the...ah, that shopping area!
Third location fished at and now we got her whim of fishing with bait finished. Woo! Next stage is to mount or bowl 5 fish and to fish for 10 hours. Already got the skill check finished as well. Everything she fishes today will go straight into the fish tank! Holy carp! Caught a sturgeon worth 133 simoleans! Jesus! Once it’s in fish tank, it’s getting sold. Fish bowled. Now it’s just a matter of time. But now it’s time to check in on 9S.
So 9S finally got his hug and got to talk to 2B about his brilliant ideas. And got a woohoo in before heading off to work. Anyway, time for 2B to fish some more. Alone preferably. -stares at the Sims who head to the fishing spots- Got four fish and one treasure. Time to head home, meditate a bit, gain the Time for Fun mood, and then head to bed. Same for 9S. He needs to head to bed as well.
Neighborhood Watch!
Kendra Donnelly in the Donnelly household left her job as an Assistant Manager in the Business career.
Riya Anand in the Anand household has died. Riya got on the bad side of a chicken.
Windenburg: The Stanford household has moved in.
2B is up and we got a little bit before work so more fishing time! Man it’s nice to have a fishing spot right next to your home. 9S is up and wants to date 2B. And hang around her so he doesn’t miss her. ...so we could have a date, if we manage to get an easy work-from-home. And I mean, it’s working from home so it won’t be that bad. Miko dropped by to hang out so let’s play a game of chess. It works for his job! She drifted off from the game – oh he won. Ah but let’s just play some more chess then. Annnd she decided to prank him by saying she’s a criminal mastermind. Alongside missing 2B, that pushes 9S into being tense. Annnd Liberty decided to be mean in 9S messages so she’s getting smack-talked! Online, of course. Work-from-home is write a report. Hmm. We’ll see how long that exactly takes.
Miko dropped right back in and asked to be best friends with 9S. Considering the tense moodlet, nah. You know what 2B can do? Other than fish and get onto the next stage of her aspiration? Give massages. She can help with 9S’s tense feelings! ...well it at least took him down from very tense into tense so let have 2B go fishing again! Ironically enough, the very tense now is from doing yoga. Sedentary lifestyle after all! Now 9S is feeling better and that report didn’t take long at all. Let’s ask 2B out!
...oh dang it. Both of the goals post the initial one are to be in flirty or playful moodlets. That’s no fun! (With Meaningful Stories that is) Thankfully we somehow didn’t need it, as we had one stage already clear. Welp!
Tumblr media
Why yes! I did just add in a bush so that 2B and 9S could woohoo. Mweheheh. Annd it started raining. Welp. Might as well end the date early so we can head back home. And both still got great sentiments out of it! Huzzah! I’m at least getting the romantic gestures up to 10 before I go anywhere else. 9S wants to debate with geeks after all! 2B is no nerd so he must find those other nerds! And since online socials are heating up between the nerds in the Best of Friends household, might as well see Eddie instead.
Eddie’s scared. Likely because of the house he lives in and passes on his fear to 9S! Thankfully we are ultra focused so it doesn’t matter. We manage to successfully calm him down as well! Nice. And with some chatter, we are now good friends. Wooo! And with a quick check in done, it’s time to go home and time for-

The Visit
I didn't know what time it was but the sky was orange outside. With all the will I had in me I turned my head towards my nightstand, the purple neon light blinding me while trying to check the time. A long yawn escaped my lips as I rubbed the sleep off my eyes, it was around 16:12 pm •Fuck, I slept in again.• I got up and went to the bathroom to take a hot bath, still feeling the tiredness from the last 2 night shifts in Nightshade. I filled the tub with warm water and stepped in, I could feel my body finally relaxing. I felt like I was working 72 hours straight with a 5 minute break every 10 hours. I hissed when the warm water touched the new cut in my arm. Some asshole in the bar the other night started a fight to make a girl notice him and he broke a bottle, threating her and the boy who was with her. Of course I stopped him but the bastard managed to cut me in the arm before the police came in and took him. After some time my eyes felt heavy again and I almost fell asleep but the water started getting cold so I got out, put on a new bandage and wrapped myself in a towel as I headed to the kitchen to eat something. The fridge was empty again and the only thing I had in were a pizza box and 2 cans of soda •Ok, πρέπει να πάω για ψώνια κάποια στιγμή.•  (1). I heated up the last 4 pieces and threw the box in the trash when the phone rang •Frankie! Always not happy hearing your voice. What you've got for me?...when?...I don't know...how much?...I want double...I'm doing the info part and I demand double for that...you know I won't do that...good...well fuck that fat whore, I'm not gonna repeat myself for the 5th time...tell her to go fuck herself because no one is brave enough to fuck her...what about it?...ask Joel or Zack...Wendy is still in rehab...I will ask again and won't hesitate, you know that...unlike you...if I don't see the money in my account the next 48 hours we are gonna have a problem...I know he is listening, I can hear him breathing, don't need to repeat myself now, do I boys?...good...deal.• I turned off the phone with a huge grin •Finally payday.•.
After finishing eating I decided to clean up a bit my apartment before leaving, it looked like it looked back in school but in a much better state. 20 minutes later I finished and returned to my bedroom to get ready. I threw away the towel and dried my hair quickly with a blow-dryer while searching for clothes. I grabbed a pair of black jeans, a black hoodie and my black combat boots, I brushed my hair and put on my jacket and a black beanie as I grabbed the car keys from the living room. After making sure that I had everything on me I left.
I got into my car, started the engine and drove towards the apartment block but not before I made a quick stop to a nearby flower shop. I parked outside of the apartment building and got inside, almost running to the elevator and pressed the button quickly for the penthouse, avoiding Mr. Evans and his interrogation successfully. What is it with old people and asking questions? •It always feels a little odd walking down the huge hallway towards the door...• few seconds past and I started knocking. The door finally opened, revealing my favorite photographer wearing nothing more than dark grey sweatpants. After staring for a few good seconds I talked •Hi Stef.• he didn't say anything, he just let me in with a small smile and as much as I loved that eye candy, he wasn't his usual self, I could tell...maybe it was because of the day... •Give me few minutes to get ready mia cara.• (2) •Take your time.• I said and sat on the couch "If I'm gonna be greeted like that again, I need to come here more often.". I was staring at the 2 photographs on the table smiling because I helped a lot by choosing the "materials", I just knew the blonde girl would be a better choice than the ginger one. My phone rang, Frankie had send me the files I needed for my research but I didn't pay much attention to them, after all I wasn't gonna be the one pulling the trigger so I could focus on that tomorrow or the day after. Besides, we had 1 month to complete so I was a bit more relaxed. I was staring at the photos when I heard Stefano entering the living room, this time wearing a dark grey shirt with black jeans and black shoes •Ready?• he asked me, putting his long black coat on "Handsome like always." I nodded smiling and we left.
We got into the car and he noticed the flowers in the backseat •I know you said that it wasn't necessary but I told you I wasn't gonna come emptyhanded.• he gave me a sad smile and we drove to Krimson's cemetery. We didn't talk a lot because I was paying attention to the road, following Stefano's directions and he was staring at the flowers in his lap, lost into his thoughts. We reached the cemetery, I parked and we went inside...searching for Emily's grave. The cemetery was a maze but Stefano found it quickly and then froze on spot when he saw a woman standing in front of it crying. I froze as well and examined her, she was tall, in her late 50's with long dirty-blonde hair that reached her waist and her beautiful blue eyes were red from crying. It was Emily's mother, Helen Lewis. Stefano gasped and grabbed my hand staring at her, he was beyond shocked and so was I because I didn't expect anyone to be here but we had to move on. I entwined my fingers with his, letting him know that I was still there with him, and we approached her. She saw us but recognized only Stefano and her eyes lift up of joy only for few seconds when he approached her. They knew each other because he and Emily were close friends and also he was the one who helped her with her modeling career...they were talking about Emily and Ms. Helen started crying again. She hugged Stefano telling him that it's been 6 years since Emily's murder and that nothing had changed. 6 years that she couldn't visit the grave. I could see in his eye that he wasn't prepared to see her here but not surprised. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her after handing me his flowers and pated her back trying to calm her down.
Her words were like knife stabs in the heart...I felt so bad for her, I haven't met Emily but seeing her mother like this was devastating. Dad used to look the same after the accident...a shell of his former self...
Ms. Helen turned her attention to me •I'm sorry I didn't notice you dear, who are you?• she said wiping her tears off her cheeks •There's nothing to apologize Ms. Helen. I'm Jane. I'm so sorry for your loss.• there were literally no words to comfort this woman but I tried by telling her that they will find the killer...but of course she had heard that before. Few minutes passed and when she said goodbye we tried to talk her into staying with us or escort her at least but she refused politely and left in a crying mess, talking to herself. Stefano stared at her before placing the flowers on the grave and took my hand after I placed mine down as well. Silence filled the air as I leaned on his arm. After checking that no one was near us I turned to him •Please tell me it isn't you!• it was more of a scream than a whisper and I tightened my grip around his arm, not waiting for an answer but demanding one •No...but I feel responsible.• the sadness and the regret in his voice took me back...it was odd •What do you mean?•. He didn't want to talk and I decided to go along with it. I didn't want to upset him because he was a wreck the entire week. I rest my head on his arm again and payed attention to Emily's photo and I was astonished. She was so young in the photo probably 23-24 years old with beautiful dark brown hair and hypnotizing blue eyes. She looked like her mother. The whole situation made me feel so uneasy and sad...I almost teared up but I managed to hold back my tears. She was so young and according to the things Stefano had said from time to time in conversations she was a sweet, a bit bitchy sometimes, helpful friend and a good person with an undying love for modeling and acting. Such a shame her life journey ended...so violently. I took a deep breath, all this was too much. I didn't expect to cry for a person I had never met...
Stefano sat at the end of the grave and caressed the marble while staring at the photo, the atmosphere was so heavy...I haven't been in a cemetery since 2007, was it always so gloom? So depressing? I don't remember...maybe I don't want to...
We stayed at the grave for a little while when he whispered something •Mi dispiace Emily...• (3). I took a few steps away, trying to distract my thoughts but I couldn't hold back the few tears that streamed down my face. Suddenly Stefano's voice broke and he started crying in front of the grave. I approached immediately and hugged him from behind, he buried his head in my collarbone and touched my arms. The only thing I could do was to hold him and comfort him. I was shocked because this was the first time I had seen him crying, even when he was experiencing a phantom pain he wasn't acting like that and seeing him like made me feel awful. He turned around and wrapped his arms around my waist and cried in silence, it hurt my soul seeing him like that but I understood his pain. He groaned in pain but he was still holding me tight. He wiped the tears off his face carefully, letting a few more escape and I checked his eye. Thankfully everything was fine and he buried his face into my neck again. Even though I hated being in cemeteries I was willing to stay longer if he wanted to. His gaze fell to the floor and I stayed right next to him with my arms still wrapped around him as he whispered some things in Italian and I rested my chin on his shoulder, looking around and let him have a moment. Tears were definitely streaming down his face again. •How do you get rid of it?• •What?• •That pain in my chest...every year it gets worse.• he let me go and buried his face into his hands and I ran my hand through his hair •You can't get rid of it, you just learn to live with it alongside...no matter how painful it is.• he exhaled and looked at me •You're asking the wrong person my soul...• I said wiping a tear from my cheek and got closer to him.
After some time he calmed down and stared at the photo of Emily again and so did I •She was very beautiful.• he turned to look at me and caressed my face with a sad smile •You know...you remind me of her sometimes.• •Really?• he nodded •You have the same spark in your eyes.• I smiled and looked at the picture again •Who knows? Maybe me and her would be good friends.• he gave me another sad smile and touched my hand •Or fight every time you saw each other. You would be like day and night.• •That different huh?• •Worse. Much worse.• I chuckled and gave him a small kiss in his cheek and finally the atmosphere wasn't so heavy anymore. But his glossy eye still hurt my soul.
The orange afternoon sky had turned dark blue hours ago and the cold weather of Krimson started making its appearance as well. After all it was mid January. A thunderstorm could be heard in the distance and I sighed, even the weather wasn't having it. Stefano stood up from the grave and I understood that it was time for us to go so I stood up but without taking my eyes off the picture and caressed the marble as well •Αναπαύσου εν ειρήνη Emily.• (4) he smiled at me •What?• he took a few steps forward and hugged me, I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face into his chest. He held me close for few more seconds and I run my hands up and down his back, no words were exchanged between us. There was no need to. He kissed my crown and let out a sigh •If you want to stay longer, I'm more than happy to do it.• he gave the grave one last glance •No mia cara...it's ok...come on.•.
It left like centuries since we left from the cemetery holding hands.
It was late at night when we returned to my apartment, around 20:55 pm, I opened the door and headed immediately to the kitchen to drink some water because I needed a moment to calm down from today's events. Stefano closed and locked the door behind him and sat on the couch staring at the void, I joined him and we both sat there in silence. I was staring at my hands, the coffee table, the TV, my guitars, my gaming consoles, the crack on the ceiling that I had to repair at some point but nothing could take my mind off what happened today. Time seemed to had stopped. •Emily wasn't one of them.• I turned to face Stefano and I've never seen that look in his face! It was a mix of sadness, guilt and anger •What?• •That night when she was murdered, I was at the gallery for work. She wanted to come and help but I refused...she was out and then it happened. 2 days later it was all over the news. After her death I decided to make a tribute.• •Emily triggered this?• I asked referring to his "art pieces" and he nodded negatively, never taking his eyes from the void •I was already making art before her but she was the only one who supported me, motivated me, been through everything with me...I couldn't lose my muse. Μy friend...• my heart skipped a beat when he said that but I stayed silent. It was the first time I've heard him talking about someone like this. Or act like that. He is usually so...calm. •What about the police? I'm sure the town had never seen something like that before. It was one of the first cases I learned about when I arrived to Krimson 3 years ago. They must have found something. Even a small clue.• •No, and that detective was on the case, of course they suspected me but I had an alibi.• •Ωπα μισο! O Sebastian?!• (5) he nodded and I learned a bit more about the night of Emily's murder and I didn't know what to say. But I believed everything. Stefano could manipulate and lie easily to other people with a smile but not to me or the people he trusts, I have worked with people like him and I knew when someone was lying, hell I am one of those people too. And he wasn't. But the question was still in the air: Who had followed the same MO to kill Emily? And why?
The conversation ended rather quickly but the silence that followed again was unbearable. I moved closer and wrapped my arms around him •Well that was an educational day.• he sighed and the atmosphere was heavy again...no jokes could save it. Stefano rested his head on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around my waist as I ran my fingers through his dark hair, while my head was filled with thoughts about the case. What the Hell happened 6 years ago? One thing I knew for sure was that I wouldn't let him return to his house in this state •You're staying here for the night. And you're in charge for what we will order because the fridge is empty. Come on.• I wiped the tears off his face carefully and kissed his forehead. I got up to prepare for the night.
Thankfully, the food had arrived fast •Good job Harry, 10 minutes earlier.• I tipped him and closed the door fast, not giving him a chance to flirt with me again and rolled my eyes. I placed the bags on the the coffee table and grabbed the plates and the wine glasses •Ok everything's ready.•. I went to my room •Stef food's here, come on.• he was laying on my bed, holding my polaroid and staring the little board above the desk with photos I've taken with it •I knew you would stare at them.• •When did you go to New York?• •2015. I had already graduated and was in France for a mission when a teacher emailed me, asking me if I wanted to join the class as a volunteer. He was my favourite so I couldn't say no.• •I see...• •Come one, let's go eat. And I better see the polaroid there later.• he chuckled as he put it down and we went to the living room.
Must admit that dinner was the 3rd most awkward dinner I've ever had in my life, we were talking and Stefano was staring at the plate lost, not eating anything and only drank some wine •Please eat something, you haven't eaten since yesterday.• •I'm not hungry.• he kept drinking and I joined him after finished eating but after some time I convinced him to eat something from his plate. I think he did it so I would stop annoying him but that was a victory in my books. We sat on the floor with our glasses in silence, the mood had changed again but I wasn't gonna have any of that. I took a sip from my wine and so many questions started floating in my head •How was she?• •What?• •Emily. You have told me a few things about her, but I would like to learn a few more. If you don't mind of course. How did you two meet?• a sad smile decorated his face and I couldn't hold back mine either as he started telling me stories about the things he had lived with Emily and her family. He was 25, 3 years after he had returned to Florence after the war and had finished his studies, packed everything over a night and moved to New York for a second degree in design. After a few months working as a modeling photographer a 18 year old Emily had come for a casting and they met when he stood up for her because the people from the magazine were rude to her and some other girls because their English were a bit broken. After that they started hanging out, or more correctly she was chasing him around and they decide to leave for Krimson after 3 years. They were working together and helping each other with everything. Emily always talked about wanting to be more than a "stupid doll" like they called her and started studying to become an actress, she was young, she had a flare for the dramatics and really loved being in front of the camera. According to Stefano she had achieved taking on few roles in small theaters, drama and comedy and managed to have a role in a well known crime anthology series here in Krimson during the mid 2008 to 2015. More stories came after this one. Some of them were crazy and some of them had police in them but the point was that Stefano was smiling, truly smiling and that made me smile •Wait! How the Hell did she knew that her parents were coming back?• •I had warned her after seeing them at a coffee shop. They had come from New York to surprise her and the young man she was with the whole weekend climbed down the fire escape after they had cleaned the entire house. He left when her parents had just arrived and I was a block up their street, watching everything. But at the end they found out about them a few weeks after because I was supposed to cover them and I didn't.• •Γιατί?• (6) •I was working in a studio I was renting that time and I had lost the track of time. And her phone calls. I had an awful fight with a newspaper "journalist" because of my photographs. I had burnt myself out, working day and night and lost a lot of sleep over it.• •Now look at you being the best and worst look out in the history of look out.• we laughed and clinked our glasses. The atmosphere sure had changed a lot after a few more stories. There was still sadness in the air but not that much and after a few more glasses we had reached the end of the last bottle of wine I had and I decided to raise my glass •To Emily.• Stefano smiled and raised his as well •To Emily.• and we drank the last drops of the wine. We stayed up for a while just talking and messing around.
It was now very late, around 2 or 3 am and we were on my bed, the rain was hitting the windows like it wanted to get in and Stefano was lying on top of me and had managed to fall sleep but I could still feel the tense from the day on him. His whole body was slightly shaking. It was a miracle of itself that he slept and didn't stay up late again for no reason but I couldn't sleep at all, my mind was processing every single thing that had happened today at the cemetery and what I had learned. It was clear how close he was with Emily, they had a brother and sister relationship. Always taking care of each other and defending one another...I could feel some tears creeping towards the edges of my eyes but I wiped them off quickly. Carefully, not to wake him up, I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and text the only person who could help me right now.
J -"David! David! I know you're in!"
I waited for few seconds when finally the person on the other side started typing and by the looks of it he was annoyed.
D- "Do you have any idea what time is it Doe? I was finally getting some sleep!"
J- "Ok first of all that's a total bull because it's probably night in Berlin right now and not after midnight, secondly I know you staying up late and sleep when the sun is sky high and that's what you're gonna do today, fucking vampire. Thirdly I can see that you're online and so is Whitney. How's the game going? 30-45?"
D- "..."
J- "..."
D- "I'm losing."
J- "I can tell. Whitney messaged me the money you're gonna give her. She is in rehab and still kicking your ass."
D- "What do you want shorty?"
J- "Help."
D- "I'm not a psychologist."
J- "I'm not in the mood for jokes. Today was a difficult day."
D- "What do you mean?"
J- "..."
D- "Oh fuck! How did it go?"
J- "We were in a cemetery and the mother was there. What exactly do you think that happened?"
D- "You're sad but I can feel the sarcasm through the screen."
J- "I'll add that to my resume."
D- "How is he?"
J- "I've never seen him so broken and that messed me up for good...but I understand his pain. At least I managed to convince him to stay here for the night."
D- "Good, it wouldn't be a good idea to leave him alone."
J- "Ok enough of that, I didn't text you for emotional help. I'm a wreck already."
D- "As you wish. How can I help you shorty?"
J- "Do you still ''play'' with cold cases?"
D- "Always."
D- "Joel called and gave me a few the other day and I've been back on the game baby!"
J- "Perfect. I want you to find everything you can about a murder that happened 6 years ago."
J- "And fuck you, I'm not short you fucking tree!"
D- "Hehehe. You said the magic word. Which one?"
J- "It happened here in Krimson City."
D- "Ok, your little city is a real pain in the ass. I mean seriously are all the bad guys there?"
J- "Do you really care about that?"
D- "To be honest not really."
J- "Then don't complain."
D- "Fine, fine give me the name and I'll see what I can find. Your little town isn't only a pain in the ass, it's secrets are very well hidden."
D- "Professional work if I may say."
J- "The name is Emily Lewis."
D- "Ok, I'll look it up and text you soon. Vacations aren't over yet."
J- "Drinks on you when you'll return and I'm expecting a gift."
J- "Oh, and Nadia really missed you."
D- "I know, we talked yesterday."
D- "Ok then shorty you've got yourself a deal and a gift apparently. See ya soon."
J- "ΜΗ ΜΕ ΛΕΣ ΚΟΝΤΗ!" (7)
D- "Τoo lazy to translate that shorty."
D- "See you soon kid."
D- "Good morning."
J- "Good morning."
I turned off the phone and put it down carefully. I wrapped my arms around Stefano again and stroked his hair, kissing the top of his head. He was still tense but a bit calmer. The wine helped of course. It always does. I stared out of the bedroom's window and enjoyed the sound of the rain. The effects of the alcohol started kicking in and my head and eyes started getting heavy. Stefano tightened his grip around me and I yawned a few times while fixing the blanket on top of us and slowly surrender to the need to sleep. Today was a heavy day...

Thank you for reading and I’m sorry if there are some grammar mistakes, English is not my first language but I have a degree which I’m trying to honor it by writing XD. Like I had said in a previous post, Jane Doe is Greek and in a lot of fanfictions I have written for the evil within 2 fandom, she speaks Greek here and there so I will always have at the bottom of the fanfictions the translations of what she is saying. Same goes for Stefano as well for Italian.
Every single OC I create has a characteristic of mine and in this case Jane Doe has my nationality.
Translations:
(1) Ok I need to go to the supermarket at some point
(2) My dear
(3) I’m sorry Emily
(4) Rest in peace Emily
(5) Wait a sec! Sebastian?!
(6) Why?
(7) Don’t call me short!

I just had an idea based on my recent health experience: What if Spence had to wear a Holter for 24 or 72 hours to measure his heart's activity (maybe as part of the FBIs health checks) ? And he has to take notes of everything he does so that they can match it with the information collected so he cannot have sex or masturbate unless he's willing to justify his increased heart activity to a team of doctors. So, reader being reader, decides to drive him nuts, teasing him again and again because she knows he can't do anything about it. (Does he end up cumming in his pants because he's trying so hard not to touch himself and increase his heart rate?) ☺️🥰
Love ya! Have a great day!
Let's Get Physical
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Warnings: 18+, edging, blowjob, grinding, coming in pants
Word Count: 1380 (i'm inclined to just call this a full fic)
A/N: First, an apology. This has been in my inbox for quite a while and I am very sorry about the wait. Secondly, I made this entire scenario up after doing some minimal research on Holter monitors so it might not make sense.
Spencer gave Hotch’s door a light tap before taking a deep breath and then giving two sharp knocks. “Come in”
The door swung open and Derek patted him on the shoulder with a smile as he exited, no doubt having just received a glowing report regarding his physical health. Spencer dropped into the seat, casting a quick glance at the team of health professionals on Hotch’s couch and immediately regretting it. They were very clinical looking - pressed white lab coats, hair combed and gelled back, clipboards piled with papers, already scribbling away and speaking among themselves in hushed voices. “Ok Dr. Reid, we just have a few questions to ask you regarding your health practices and then we’ll take a look at the results from the Holter Monitor. Is that alright?”
“Um yeah. Yeah, that’s fine” he glanced over at Hotch who was leafing through Spencer’s notes with a raised eyebrow. The first few questions about his diet and lifestyle practices were easy but then came the dreaded evaluation of the Holter measurements. “Now we just have a few questions about some of the readings from the Holter. I see there was a bit of a spike right after you put it on that you attributed to nerves?”
“O-oh uh yeah, I was just a little nervous about having it on. That was it.” But that wasn’t the exact truth.
---
You had Spencer sit cross-legged on the bed without his shirt when he came home with the Holter. He was explaining how it worked as you studied the diagram detailing how to put it on. You slipped the wearable recording device over his head and climbed into his lap, surreptitiously rocking your hips into his as you untangled the wires. His hands encircled your waist, adjusting your angle so your clothed core ran against his entire length. You attached the electrodes carefully, kissing each patch of skin before covering it. His breath came out in soft pants as his release mounted and he squeezed his eyes shut. Just as he was about to come, you clicked the machine on and his eyes flew open.
“Wait, Y/N! I can’t - I’m supposed to keep my heart rate down.” The panic in his voice was evident and you smirked. If there was one thing you knew about Spencer it was that he liked succeeding. One might even say he liked winning - 3 Ph.Ds, prolific poker player, unsubs behind bars - so it didn’t come as a surprise to you that he was keen on passing his health evaluation. You trailed a hand down his chest, feeling the pounding heart he was trying to calm with deep breaths. “If you say so, doc”
---
The evaluator’s next question snapped him from his reverie. “That sounds fine but there was a concerning increase in your heart activity at 2 AM. It says here that you were exercising, specifically sprinting?”
Spencer dropped the pen he had been twirling and dove under his chair to get it. “Ah yes, I - uh - those are my nightly sprints.”
If Hotch’s eyebrows went up any farther they’d disappear in his hairline. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing a hand across his face in exasperation when he spotted your face peeking out through an opening in his office blinds. You darted away quickly, sprinting back to your desk. Meanwhile, Spencer mentally chastised himself for his lack of self-restraint, saying that he was doing sprints at 2 AM was stupid but it was the only thing he could think of that could somewhat explain his elevated heart rate without revealing his actual activities.
---
He couldn’t sleep with the monitor on, tossing and turning in your arms until he rolled onto his back and let out a frustrated huff. You sleepily propped yourself up on your elbow. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?”
He scooted in closer, curling his body into yours and burying his face into your tits. He whined, “Can’t sleep with this thing on me”
“Oh, poor baby. Do you need me to make you feel better?” You dipped a hand down the front of his pajama pants and he automatically pressed his hips forward, used to you soothing him in this way after nightmares. He was already half-hard and you stroked him softly before sliding down the bed. His whimpers at the loss of your breasts exploded into loud moans as you swallowed his length, running your tongue up the underside of his cock and sucking at the tip before taking him back into your throat. Usually, you would take your time but you were feeling particularly wicked tonight, bringing a hand up to cradle his balls as the other forced his wild hips down onto the bed. Once again you pulled away just as his orgasm began to materialize and he threw his head back against the pillows, whines devolving into a choked sob. “We wouldn’t want to mess up your Holter results, now would we?”
Needless to say, he didn’t get any sleep that night.
---
“Well Dr. Reid, this kind of activity is most unusual and frankly quite concerning. Your heart rate even shot up right before you returned the monitor which you again attributed to nerves.” Spencer’s face reddened as he recalled the events that transpired that morning.
---
He was pacing down a vacant hallway in the basement of the Bureau, willing his nerves away. He was sure he would fail. Could you even fail one of these evaluations? Probably. If anyone could fail it would be Spencer. Between the events of the last 24 hours and the fact that Derek was going right before him, he knew he was screwed. And then as if the universe were conspiring against him there you were coming out of the printer room, heels clicking against the floor, hips swaying, a form-fitting blouse leaving just enough to the imagination. And Spencer had a very vivid imagination. Watching you float towards him was really all it took to have him standing at attention, heart rate skyrocketing. But you were ever the overachiever, threading his tie between your fingers and pulling him in for a kiss. Your knee came up between his legs and he automatically rocked into you, still worked up from your relentless denial. You ran your tongue over his bottom lip, deepening the kiss and applying even more pressure. “You’ve been so good, sweetheart. Trying your very hardest to control yourself. It’s adorable.”
It didn’t even occur to Spencer that he had to return the monitor along with his notes in less than 10 minutes, he was cumming in his pants as soon as the praise left your lips, whining into your mouth as he finally attained his long-awaited release. He looked down at you in shock as you stepped back. “Shit, Y/N! What do I do? They’re gonna call me up in 5 minutes!”
You gave him a mocking look of sympathy as you smoothed the wrinkles in his dress shirt. “Guess you better get cleaned up then”
---
“Dr. Reid, I’d like to see you again for a follow-up.” The doctor on the left scribbled their name on the bottom of a form and handed it to Spencer. He gave the paper a quick glance before looking over at Hotch with wide eyes. Help me.
Hotch sighed, taking the form from Spencer and giving it a quick scan before returning it to the evaluation team. “As we know, Dr. Reid has had a tumultuous history with these physical assessments. However, he is an invaluable member of this team and has proven himself in the field time and time again. I don’t see any reason to prolong this evaluation. Now if you’ll excuse us, I believe Dr. Reid was your last appointment of the day”
They protested but Hotch fixed them with his trademark stare and they stood up to leave. “Very well, but Dr. Reid will not be exempt from his yearly fitness test this time.”
Spencer gulped, watching them file out the room. He turned to Hotch thanking him as he took his file and turned to leave, glad it was over. But before he could leave, Hotch cleared his throat. “I take it Y/N will be helping you train for your fitness test”

Heya. I know that requests are closed and I totally respect if you ignore this because of that. Two hours ago my dog had a seizure and my mom and I are currently in the parking lot of the emergency vet waiting for an update. I’m normally “the rock” for my family (if that makes sense) when shit hits the fan, so I feel like I need to hide my panic so my mom doesn’t worry more. I claimed to need to use the restroom (there’s those portable bathrooms outside) but I’m actually just having a panic attack on a stairway nearby. Most of my friends are asleep or offline right now so I don’t have anyone to help ground me. I know my mom would, but she’s already dealing with enough. Your writing has never failed to calm me down or cheer me up, so I was wondering if you could maybe make headcannons or something about how texts or a quick phone call with the SBI would go and how they would help a teen friend who’s going through this situation.
I don’t want you to feel pressured to do this because of guilt or anything of the sort. I understand that requests are closed, but I thought it was worth shooting my shot. So it’s completely okay if you ignore this.
(A/N): I wrote this as fast as I could, so there might be a few mistakes here and there. I really hope your dog gets better soon and nothing major is wrong with them, I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts. If you wanna talk about it, my DMs are always open love <3
Warnings: mentions of dog seizures, vets, panic attacks
Your pleasant day had gone so wrong so fast
You had a blast hanging out with your neighbor and childhood friend Techno and his brothers
You spent most of the day at the park hanging out and generally goofing around
That was until you received a phone call from your mother
She was in a panic telling you to come home, telling you that there was something wrong with your dog
You quickly excused yourself by telling them that your mom wanted you home as soon as possible suddenly and ran home in tears when you were out of their line of sight
When you were running you could feel yourself being filled with dread
Your chest felt tight as you fought off a panic attack, you needed to be strong for your mom
You were her rock
It was only natural to comfort her, she helped you so much with your anxiety and panic attacks even when facing her own troubles and stress
So you did your best to stifle your panic
When you got home, you could hear the loud sobbing of your mother, the faint sound of heavy breathing, and rustling
The sight in the living room broke your heart
Your beloved pet was on the floor having a violent seizure while your mother was looking on in horror
You quickly took action, moving the stuff around the dog away from it
The only thing you could do was wait it out, so you made quick work of comforting your mother
After the seizure, your dog was looking around confusedly and whining slightly
He seemed very tired
Doing some research, you found out that it was best to let the dog rest after such a seizure because it takes a lot of energy out of it
The nearest emergency vet was about ten minutes away so you picked up your dog and escorted your mom to the car
You drove to the vet, your mom was too distraught to drive
The vet immediately took him in and got to work, leaving you and your mom in the car waiting for an update on the pooch
She had calmed down for the most part, but you could still feel the panic brewing in your chest threatening you with a full blown panic attack
You held it off so you could be strong for your mother, but you were spiraling and fast
When it got to the point where you couldn’t hold it back anymore, you quickly excused yourself to the portable bathrooms
You ducked into an abandoned staircase and the panic attack quickly reared its ugly head
Your breaths came out in short hyperventilations, your chest feeling like an elephant was sat on it
You couldn’t breathe
When it got to the point where you were dry heaving, you knew that this one wasn’t one that you could calm yourself down from
You had to call someone
Your mom was immediately out of question, even if she would gladly help you
In your point of view, she had enough to worry about
Your best bet would be to call Techno
You had extreme difficulty finding his contact because your vision was tunneled and blurred and your hands were shaking, but you eventually found it
He and his brothers should still be at the park
You felt guilty for calling, but you knew you needed help and Techno and his brothers were your best bet
“Hey (y/n), uh is everything alright with your mom? You left in a hurry.” Techno saw his twin and Tommy look at him in question. He wove them off.
He was only met with heavy breathing and sobbing from your end, which worried him to no end. He knew damn well about your anxiety and panic attacks, in fact he was the one that encouraged you to open up to your mom about it and ask her for therapy sessions. He’s calmed you down from enough panic attacks to know exactly what to do to help you.
“Hey you’re alright,” he cooed to you in a soft voice, “take deep breaths. Where are you?” His brothers looked at him in alarm. They also knew about your panic attacks as you were basically like another sibling to them. Wilbur grabbed the car keys and the three made a dash towards the family car.
“Techno…” Your breathless and strained whimper on the other end made his heart break for you. “Where are you?”
When you told him that you were at the nearby emergency vet, he could feel his heart sink. Your dog was growing older and older and his health was declining. That dog was with you two through thick and thin when your family got him in middle school. You were seniors in high school now, so that dog was old for his breed.
“We’re on our way, just hang on tight buddy. What’re five things you can see?”
After you got through the 5-4-3-2-1 technique, you still were in the midst of an intense panic attack and it worried Techno to no end. Usually you would be calmed down by now. Luckily, they arrived at the vet and quickly found a parking space.
You could hear running coming towards you and looked up to see the brothers running towards you. Techno kneeled next to you and attempted to give you a smile, “we’re here. Is it okay for me to touch you?” At your nod, he grabbed your hand and put it on his chest. “Breathe with me, okay? Do you think you can do that for me?” You didn’t respond to him. Your hazy eyes darted to his face when he gently called your name and asked you again. You nodded making him smile at you, “good, we’re gonna do the 4-7-8 breathing technique,” he told you softly, “do you remember that? You breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold it for seven, and exhale slowly through your mouth for eight. I’ll do it with you,” he took in a deep breath through his nose and you tried to follow suit but failed. Your breathing was just too erratic.
“Tech, I-I can’t. I…”
“Hey you can do this, I know you can. Let’s try again, it takes time to even out breathing.” He said something to his brothers you couldn’t hear and they ran off. “Deep breath in,” he breathed in and you tried to follow him, “hold,” you held in the breath for about two seconds, “and out,” the breath ripped itself from your lungs. “You’re doing so good, I’m proud of you (y/n).”
The breathing continued for a bit with you getting nowhere before you heard the boys return. They had a couple of ice cold water bottles in their hands. Techno let go of your hand and grabbed one of them. He turned to you with an encouraging smile, “okay, we’re gonna try something new. I’m gonna have you touch this, is that alright?”
You reached out with a shaky hand to touch the plastic and jolted slightly at the temperature, a gasp ripping itself from your lungs and your eyes focusing slightly better than before. “I’m gonna run this up and down your arms, focus on the feeling of the temperature and the feeling.” As he ran the bottle down your arms, you could feel your heart rate drop at the temperature and your heated skin cooling down. Your breathing eventually evens itself out leaving you panting and shakily reaching up to wipe at your tears.
“Are you good now?” You nodded and leaned against the brick wall tiredly. An open water bottle was put into your hands. You drank it and relished in the feeling of the ice cold drink slithering down your throat. It even heightened your senses.
Wilbur sat on your other side and slung an arm over your shoulders, giving you a side hug. Tommy sat across from you while Techno sat on your other side holding your hand, lazily rubbing his thumb over your knuckles.
“Do you wanna talk about what caused this?” You nodded and told the three everything that happened today and why you were at an emergency vet.
After you finished telling them, Wilbur turned to give you a full hug. Your face was against his chest, faintly you noted that he smelled like grass with hints of earth. “He’s gonna be alright. He’s a fighter, do you remember when he ate that bee?” You nodded, remembering that even if he was swollen, his tail was still wagging and he was as happy as he could be. He recovered quickly from that, never once losing his excited and loving personality. You thought about how even in the car he was licking away your mother’s tears and nuzzling into your hand even though he was exhausted.
“That dog has lived through so much health shit,” Tommy chimed in, “a seizure isn’t gonna take him out anytime soon.”
They stayed there for a while with you giving you reassurances and reminiscing on stories of him until you felt better
Eventually you had to go back to the car to wait with your mother, so they left to go to their house
Your dog was returned to you and your mom with the instruction to give him some medicine and come back for further examination
They didn’t find the cause for the seizure, which bothered you but relieved you that he was alright
When you got home, it was late at night and you honestly felt so drained
The next day, your dog was still slightly tired but he was slowly returning to his playful nature as the day progressed
When you were laying in the grass in the backyard with him reading a book, you saw Techno poke his head over the fence and smile at you. “Hey, how’s (dog name)?”
You ran your fingers through his fur as he slept peacefully, “he’s doing better. The vet still doesn’t know what’s going on with him, but he’s still himself.”
“We’re having some cookies and lemonade over here, do you wanna come over? (Dog name) can come too.”
“You’re more than welcome, (y/n)!” You could hear Philza’s voice chime out from their backyard. You got up and (dog name) followed you into their backyard slowly. They were sitting at the picnic table that was there since you and Techno were kids. The paint had long since chipped and faded with each year that passed. Tommy loudly cheered while Wilbur and Philza gave you gentle smiles as you walked next to Technoblade.
You sat next to Techno and a glass of lemonade was placed in front of you. (Dog name) laid at your feet and resumed his nap. You grabbed a cookie and took a bite, humming at the taste of your favorite flavor dancing across your tongue.
Being with the family was something that always made your worries fade away into nothingness and get replaced by lighthearted and refreshing happiness. You spent most of the day laughing with the family and petting your sleeping dog. Everything was going to be okay with them.

A/N it's my entry for song association event, I hope you like it, and also don't forget to check out other entries ^^ they must be all out by now lol
“Are you ready?” Johnny inquired as he set his fourth coffee of the day on his desk and plopped onto the swivel chair in a cubicle next to mine. It was a really long day at work, and we both had trouble sitting through the end of it. Heaving a deep sigh, I looked at the pile of documents that required my attention, groaning before I sprawled across my workspace.
“I thought it’s canceled tonight,” I spoke as I looked at my wristwatch, wincing when I realized there was still one more hour until Johnny and I could finally clock out.
A few months ago, our lovely firm, instead of giving us a well-deserved raise, had decided to provide us with a variety of extra activities. Though I’d rather get some monetary benefits, together with Johnny, we chose dance classes. Our company was paying for it, so we might’ve as well attended.
Ever since then, every Thursday, we would go to a dance class to sweat out all of the pent-up frustration. I didn’t have plenty of expectations, still bitter after the company’s decision, but the dance class turned out amazing. Seulgi was our teacher, and although she was a bit demanding, she was patient enough to teach us some sick moves. If that didn’t scream talent™, I had no idea what did.
“Well… last week, she said she might be absent today, but I got a text from school that someone will fill in,” Johnny spoke matter-of-factly. I sighed, checking my phone, reading the same text message from the studio. I really didn’t have energy for dance classes, but there was no way Johnny would let me skip.
“Do you want to grab a drink after? I think I need one, or a few,” I proposed as I sat back in my chair, trying to let my eyes rest from the computer’s screen.
“Does a bear shit in the woods?” Johnny asked rhetorically, smiling at me as if I just read his mind. It was almost Friday at this point, and we deserved a little treat.
Though it felt like an eternity, the clock finally struck 5 p.m., letting us leave our claustrophobic cubicles. Tomorrow we would come back for another dose of torture, but right now, we were free. Only for a few hours, though.
Quickly, I returned home to get my gym bag. Thankfully, I lived within walking distance from both – my office and the dance studio, so it wasn’t as troublesome to commute as it was for Johnny, who got stuck in traffic almost every day.
A few minutes before the dance class, I was already changed into my gym attire, waiting for Johnny. Though no one was texting me, I stared at my phone, furiously typing away. Moon Taeil, also known as my secret crush, was leaning against the wall on the other side of the corridor, and I tried every single trick my mind could come up with not to look desperate.
“At this point, he must think you hate him,” Johnny commented as he conjured in front of me out of nowhere. “You should hit on him instead of trying to bolt every time he approaches you,” he added, and I rolled my eyes at his yet another one shitty advice.
“Can you remind me why I don’t take dating advice from you?”
“Why are you attacking me? I just wanted to help. There’s no need to get so aggressive,” Johnny defended his case, not really answering my question. Johnny was a self-proclaimed love expert, but to me, he was more of a pathological playboy. Either way, he seemed to understand the secrets of flirtation to pick up girls whenever he set his mind to it.
“I am just trying not to be obvious,” I commented, stealing a glance at Taeil. It was a silly crush, and though Johnny encouraged me to go for it, I never decided to act on my feelings. Taeil probably didn’t feel this way about me, so remaining idle actually saved me embarrassment after an inevitable rejection.
“Speaking of which, I figured out why Seulgi is so resistant to my charms,” Johnny announced proudly, and I raised my eyebrow, waiting for the big reveal. Everybody in our group knew that Johnny was attracted to Seulgi, but every time he tried to approach her, she would brush him off.
“By figured out, you mean you stalked her, right?” I commented when Johnny handed me his phone, showing me Seulgi’s profile. According to what Johnny dug out in social media, Seulgi was getting married to Irene – her girlfriend of five years. “Huh,” I mused as I gave him back his phone, trying not to laugh at him. Seulgi was already madly in love with someone else, no wonder she could resist his charm.
“Call it whatever you want,” Johnny started, putting his phone away. “Just don’t hold me down when FBI finally recruits me for my impeccable detective skills,” he argued, and I laughed as I imagined him leaving our lovely company. That would be a shame; I couldn’t imagine anyone else sitting in the cubicle next to mine.
“The room should be open,” someone hollered, mentioning for us to open the doors and get inside. I had seen him a few times around the school, so I deduced he must’ve been our substitute teacher today.
Once everybody took their spot on the dance floor, the man cleared his throat. “Hello everybody, my name is Taeyong. Together with Seulgi, we run this school, and I hope we will have a lot of fun today with new choreography,” he announced politely with a practiced professionalism. Perhaps Taeyong didn’t seem as cool as Seulgi, but we had to give him a chance to prove us wrong.
Taeyong was intimidating. I wouldn’t want to be left alone with him. When he showed us a few moves, he was immensely focused on delivering one hundred percent. It was impressive and admirable, but at the same, Taeyong gave off a scary fierce aura. Though he was a great dancer and teacher, Seulgi was just better.
“I think I have a heart attack,” I panted, gasping for air. The new choreography required lots of jumping, and I didn’t expect so much cardio today. I wasn’t out of shape; however, after dancing to Taeyong’s choreography, I had some doubts.
“We should’ve skipped,” Johnny commented, bending over with his palms on his knees, supporting his huge body. Taeyong’s dance routine was too much for us, and we weren’t the only people struggling to breathe. Thankfully, next week Seulgi would be back.
***
“You’re not gonna believe this,” Johnny announced, craning his neck to look inside my cubicle. Heaving a sigh, I put my pen down, giving him my full attention.
This better be good.
“What is it? Who are you stalking this time?” I inquired, giving him the attitude. Johnny was spending too much time on his phone during working hours, but I couldn’t really frown upon it because I often caught myself doing the same thing.
“First of all, I thought we agreed to call it researching, not stalking,” Johnny clarified, and I rolled my eyes. “And second of all, it’s Seulgi. She and the other guy from the dance studio qualified for some dance competition. Check this out,” Johnny explained, handing me his phone.
Seulgi and Taeyong rocked the stage. Though I had nothing to compare their performance to, they just oozed charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Without any shred of doubt, they would make it to the grand finale.
“Wow,” I mused, not sure how to appropriately respond. I was happy for their success; after all, their performance was broadcasted during prime time on national television. At this point, Seulgi and Taeyong were celebrities.
“I can’t wait for today’s class,” Johnny added in excitement, hiding his phone away inside the pocket of his jacket. “I have to congratulate her.”
“Them. You have to congratulate them,” I corrected Johnny as he seemed to forget about Seulgi’s dance partner. It wasn’t a solo competition, so both Seulgi and Taeyong deserved praise. “And as if you’ve forgotten, Seulgi is not and will never be interested in you. You gotta let this one go, man,” I added, hoping Johnny would stop his relentless flirting with Seulgi. Though it was funny at the beginning, it was evident Seulgi would appreciate it if he stopped.
“I am all over her. Trust me,” Johnny reassured me, and I let out a shallow sigh, wanting to believe him. “Do you know Wendy from the HR department? I think I’m gonna ask her out. I am all over Seulgi,” he added, and it actually convinced me. Although Johnny didn’t seek anything serious at this point in his life, and when something didn’t go according to his plan, he would shake it off and forget all about it.
“Ok, I believe you,” I said, giving him a genuine smile. “Oh, and I was thinking… how about some beer and chicken after dance classes today? I’ve been craving them the whole day,” I offered, and Johnny enthusiastically nodded. It did sound like a solid plan.
Thankfully, this week Seulgi was back, and everybody appreciated it. Taeyong was a great teacher, but we were a group of beginners, and it was difficult for us to follow his routine. We just weren’t ready for such complex choreography.
Everybody had so much fun today. At first, we practiced some old routines, working on synchronization. Later on, Seulgi taught us a few new moves, which I recognized from her television performance. Admittedly, they weren’t as difficult as they looked. Maybe it was a little bold of me, but I was thinking I was doing a pretty good job today.
At the very end of the class, Johnny delivered a dramatic congratulatory speech, making people laugh out of utter cringe. It was a nice gesture, and Seulgi’s embarrassment was adorable. She would cover her blushed cheeks and turn around, hoping the ground could swallow her up. In all honesty, it seemed to be the only way to shut up Johnny.
Just when we were about to be dismissed, I heard someone calling my name. Surprisingly, it was Seulgi. She must’ve wanted to discuss something with me. Damn it, was she going to scold me for not improving? Or was it because I sat half of the song out? I just needed a short break; I had no idea it would get me in trouble.
“I am sorry,” I apologized even though I wasn’t sure what for yet. Seulgi would enlighten me in a second, so I cleared my throat to apologize to her once again. However, when she giggled instead of yelling at me, I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
“I’ll wait for you outside,” Johnny hollered before he strolled out of the practice room.
“Am I in trouble?” I asked, and Seulgi smiled, shaking her head.
Great, it was a relief.
“Actually, I may sound crazy to you,” she started, fidgeting a little. It was strange, Seulgi was a strong and confident woman, but right now, she seemed rather bashful. “Would you like to participate in a dance competition?”
Her question took me aback.
“What?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around the topic.
“Let me explain,” she offered, and I reluctantly nodded.
By the look on her face, I could tell it wasn’t going to be a quick chit-chat. Seulgi had a lot of things to explain, so we decided to sit on the floor before she began her speech.
Patiently, I listened to everything she wanted to tell me.
Seulgi and Taeyong wanted to participate in a dance competition ever since they had decided to open up a dance school together. Last week they really thought they were going to achieve their dream. Unfortunately, as soon as they qualified and received the schedule, complications started to follow.
Maybe it was a little bit overconfident of them to think they’d make it to the finals, but it still made them anxious. Regardless of their talent, they wouldn’t be able to perform in the grand finale. Apparently, on the very same day, Seulgi was getting married.
At first, I wanted to interject that they could reschedule, but Seulgi beat me to it.
“It would be the third time we reschedule it, and I just can’t let that happen. I don’t want Irene to think I prioritize dancing over her. She means the world to me, and I’d quit a thousand times to get married to her,” Seulgi confessed, and I tried my best to contain my feels. There was something raw and pure about Seulgi’s love, and it moved me.
Seulgi’s proposition was genius in its simplicity. Together with Taeyong, she would perform, climbing up the rankings. And if by any chance, they would make it to the final round; she wanted me to fill in. Given I had been dancing at their studio for about four months I couldn’t comprehend why she chose me.
I was a rookie, for crying out loud!
Finding a substitute dancer made a lot of sense, actually. Instead of dropping out, they could find a replacement. This way, Taeyong could still make his dream come true. And next year, together with Seulgi, they could try to defend the title.
However, once again, Seulgi read my mind and answered my question before I voiced my doubts. She must’ve really thought this through before approaching me. It seemed she had rehearsed all possible inquires and came up with perfect answers.
“All of our dancer friends either compete against us or failed during qualifications,” she declared, and I hummed in response. “Unfortunately, people who already attempted joining can’t fill in for other dancers.”
“That sucks,” I commented, and Seulgi dryly chuckled.
“I think you would be a perfect fit,” she started, and I held my breath, wanting to hear what made her think I’d be able to rise to the challenge. “Everybody can memorize moves, but you have a natural passion for dancing. I can see it in class. Maybe you can’t see it yet because dancing is a hobby to you more than anything else, but I can tell you have the it™ factor.”
I was speechless. Seulgi, the dance prodigy, was praising my dancing skills. I couldn’t believe my ears. What kind of self-indulgent dream was it? Why couldn’t I dream like a normal person? I had tendency to toot my own horn sometimes, but it was just too much.
“I bet with proper training, you and Taeyong could win.”
“Let me think about it, okay?”
“Sure, of course! No pressure!” Seulgi replied enthusiastically, giving me enough space to clear my mind and think about it.
“See you next week.” I waved at her, exiting the dance room. Absentmindedly, I changed out of the gym clothes and walked out of the building, almost walking past Johnny.
“Hey, what did Seulgi want?” Johnny asked, grabbing my wrist, pulling me out of trance.
“She wants me to dance in her place if she and Taeyong ever make it to the finals.”
“What?!”
 ***
At first, I was hesitant about this whole thing. I wasn’t a professional dancer, and I really didn’t want to contribute to them losing the competition. However, Seulgi really made a point that they would have to drop out anyway, so in some twisted way, my participation gave them a slimmer of hope for victory.
Once I explained everything to Johnny, he really insisted I should help them out, spitting nonsense about fame and recognition and how I couldn’t doubt myself and just go with the flow. Opportunities like this rarely occurred, and I ought to welcome them with excitement.
So I did.
Every Saturday and Sunday, I dropped by the dance studio for practice. Taeyong still intimidated me, but I could deal with it. Seulgi was always around me to nag him whenever he demanded too much from me. They balanced each other very well, and it was fun working with them. Even though each practice left me with sore muscled, I was still excited. It was tangible proof I was improving.
Seulgi and Taeyong smoothly went through the contest, winning each battle with ease, slowly climbing in the ranking. There was still plenty of work until the grand finale, but everything looked they were to make it to the very top.
Unfortunately, the closer to the D-day, the less time Seulgi had to help us during practice. With her wedding coming up, she had a lot of preparations to deal with. As a result, Taeyong and I had to practice the dance routine on our own.
“No, you’re doing it all wrong,” Taeyong yelled in irritation when for the nth time, I turned to my right instead of my left. “Do it again; five, six, seven, eight,” he added, playing the song from the very beginning.
To say I was frustrated was an understatement of the century. I was aware that Taeyong really wanted to win the competition, but he didn’t have to be a dick about it. With no Seulgi to supervise him, he was unbearable.
“I think I need a break,” I declared once I turned to the wrong side again before Taeyong managed to scold me for it. Even though he shouted something again, I ignored it. With a deep sigh, I walked over to my gym bag to get my water bottle.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Taeyong asked, staring down at me with his arms folded across his chest, his demeanor dominant. His eyes were drilling holes in my head, his jaw was tightened – it was evident I was driving him up the wall. It was just a matter of seconds before Taeyong would snap, lashing out at me.
“I am taking a break,” I answered quickly, ignoring his angry stare. I was at my limit. If Taeyong didn’t back off, it would be the end of the practice for today. One more mean word and I’d storm out of the studio. I was here voluntarily. I was doing him a favor, and I didn’t deserve this type of treatment.
“Is it a joke to you?” Taeyong carried on, and I rolled my eyes. Of course, it wasn’t a joke to me. But at the same time, I was sick and tired of his shenanigans. I wanted him to win, but not when my mental health was on the line. He was pissing me off, and I wouldn’t let him walk all over me. “I thought you decided to help us out, but you’re not trying at all.”
He did not just say that.
“What?” I rhetorically asked, standing up, poking his chest with my forefinger. “I am trying my best here. You’re the one who makes it impossible to have fun dancing. You’re making it a chore, sucking all the fun out it.”
“Then tell me what I should do for you to finally make some progress? We’ve been stuck at this part for two weeks, and you still haven’t learned how to turn right!”
“Then go ahead and find someone else who can put up with your shit. I’m out,” I spoke, bending down to pick up my stuff, ready to leave the studio. Unfortunately, before I managed to exit the practice room, the doors opened, and Seulgi walked in with a confused expression on her face.
“Hey, what’s going on here?” She asked in worry, trying to put two and two together. It wouldn’t be the first time Taeyong and I argued, but it seemed to be the most intense one so far. It didn’t sit right with her. “Please don’t tell me you fought again.”
Briefly, I summarized what happened, and Seulgi looked down at Taeyong disapprovingly. I was glad Seulgi took my side; after all, she knew Taeyong could be too demanding.
“I am a dancer, but why does it feel I am a couple counselor? You two really have to learn how to work together when I’m not around,” she scolded us, making her point. If this whole arrangement was to work out, we both needed to establish some ground rules and learn how to put our differences aside. “I have an idea.”
Oh, no.
There was something mischievous in her tone, and I didn’t particularly like it.
“Let’s finish for today,” she proposed, and I smiled, thinking it was a great idea. Taeyong and I needed some time to chill, and calling it a day seemed like an appropriate way to do it. “Let’s go out clubbing instead!” Seulgi added cheerfully, clapping her hands in excitement.
“What?” Taeyong and I asked in unison, a bit surprised by Seulgi’s statement.
“That’s my prescription for the two of you,” she started, and I rolled my eyes. Taeyong and I didn’t get along as well as she wished for us to, but it wasn’t that bad. We didn’t need to bond over a few drinks in a crowded club. We would do just fine if Taeyong learned to go easy on me. “I believe we all can benefit from clubbing.”
“How come?”
“First of all, it will remind Taeyong that dancing is about fun, not overworking oneself,” Seulgi spoke, and I hummed, agreeing with her. “Second of all, it’ll give you a chance to loosen up. Your moves are still a bit stiff during intimate parts of the choreography,” she added, and Taeyong nodded in agreement. “And I really need something to drink because wedding planning is stressful as fuck.”
Not even thirty minutes later, we were inside the club.
“It’s a very sensual song. And you two really have to work hard to convey emotions through your dance,” Seulgi started as she sipped her tropical cocktail. “You must feel comfortable around each other and just ooze longing and sexual attraction,” she added, and I almost choked on my drink.
Performing with Taeyong was going to be more difficult than I had anticipated. When Seulgi and Taeyong showed me the choreography, I was amazed. Absolutely blown away. The way their bodies moved in synchronization left me speechless, but at the same time, I was a little bit nervous because I didn’t see myself living up to their level.
I wouldn’t consider myself particularly sexy. It made me feel awkward when I thought how seductive the dance routine actually was. I wasn’t sure I could pull this off, but Taeyong still had a lot of time to teach me.
“Take her to the dance floor,” Seulgi elbowed Taeyong, almost spilling his drink. Unenthusiastically, Taeyong looked at me before standing up and extending his arm.
Drunken people were jumping around us to the rhythm, and I awkwardly swayed from side to side, staring at Taeyong. With godlike precision, he moved, getting lost in the music. One could tell straight away Taeyong was a professional dancer.
Upon noticing how stiff I was, Taeyong shook his head, yanking me against his lean body. “How about you take a five-minute break to get that stick out of your ass? You look like you have no joints,” he yelled into my ear, his breath tickling my sensitive skin.
“I’ve had too little alcohol,” I replied, but Taeyong wasn’t having it.
“When we perform on the stage, will you need alcohol to let loose too?” Taeyong challenged with a playful smirk, and I rolled my eyes, too prideful to admit he was right. I couldn’t participate in that competition drunk. We wouldn’t win if I wasn’t able to come out of my shell and show everybody I had a sensual bone in my body.
“No,” I yelled into Taeyong’s ear. “How do I let loose?” I asked, hoping to hear some words of wisdom from him.
“Mirror what I’m doing,” Taeyong guided, and I nodded, focused on my new task. I could do that. I had been mirroring Seulgi’s movements during our classes, and I was pretty good at doing it. I could copy Taeyong’s moves.
At first, Taeyong danced a few classic moves we usually did during our warm-up routine. It was easy, and I think I nailed it. Later, he wiggled his upper body, feeling the rhythm. With envy, I observed how his body executed every single move, owning it. I wish I was half as good as Taeyong. Next to him, I probably looked like a crippled kid.
Upon noticing my struggle, Taeyong began jumping around, throwing his hands in the air. He looked ridiculous, but I remained focused on my task, dancing as if I was his shadow. Our bizarre moves earned some attention from other people, but our eyes were trained on each other, slowly getting lost in our own bubble.
I was sober, and I was on my way to owning the dance floor. I couldn’t believe it was happening. Maybe Taeyong’s charisma overshadowed my poor attempts of showcasing mine; however, I was sure I made a big step in the right direction. Slowly, I was improving.
“How about we spice it up a little bit?” Taeyong shouted into my ear, and I cocked up my eyebrow, thinking what he meant by that. “Don’t be shy,” he added, yanking me against his body. Taeyong was so close I could feel his legs rub against mine. “Come on, sweetheart. Touch me, tease me, feel me up,” Taeyong snickered, getting on my nerves. Not only Taeyong was smug for no reason, but he also quoted the song, which I was slowly growing to hate.
Taeyong must’ve assumed I’d back out. Surely, he didn’t expect me to follow his instructions and actually run my hands across his chest, shoulders, and back while simultaneously swaying my hips, earning approving stares from impressed men on the dance floor. At first, he was surprised he talked me into it, but a second later, he smirked, resting his palms on my sides, slowly exploring the valley of my butt.
I had no idea I had it in me, but Taeyong helped me discover it. We were basically grinding against each other, and it somehow didn’t feel awkward at all. We were just two people having fun.
“I’m sorry I was so harsh on you,” Taeyong apologized, shouting in my ear. “I’m just stressful all the time, and I think I may sometimes take it out on you,” he added, and I looked at his face, which was dangerously close to mine.
“It’s understandable,” I replied as I wrapped my arms around Taeyong’s neck, finding it much more comfortable. Now with our bodies pressed together, it was easier to have a conversation. “I know how much you want to win this competition. I’ll try harder,” I promised, and Taeyong released a relieved chuckle.
Who would’ve thought an adult conversation would work better than shouting at each other?
“Thank you,” Taeyong spoke genuinely, and I pulled away, staring at his face. His eyes were trained on mine. No matter how many hours we had spent at the dance studio, his gaze still intimidated me sometimes.
“Ekhm, I need a break,” I said in a desperate need to break eye contact with him. The dance floor was crowded, and it was making me dizzy. I was getting dangerously hot, and it seemed like heaven to get back to our booth and finish our drinks.
“Of course, you need a break,” Taeyong teased, sending me a lopsided smirk. “It’s okay, though. We still have plenty of time to work on your stamina,” he added as he grabbed my hand, leading me out of the crowd. Carefully, we zigzagged around drunken people, trying to make it safely to Seulgi.
Unfortunately, by the bar counter, someone walked into Taeyong, almost knocking him down.
“I’m very sorry,” a man shouted, but I could sense the words weren’t genuine.
“Doyoung,” Taeyong spoke, gritting his teeth, staring at the other man. Taeyong’s grip tightened around my hand. I figured he didn’t particularly like Doyoung.
“Taeyong,” Doyoung sighed, checking Taeyong out from head to toe before his gaze shifted to me. There was something spiteful about his lingering eyes, but I couldn’t pinpoint it. For sure, there was some bad blood between two men, and I suddenly felt an urge to know more. Inquisitiveness got the best of me.
Taeyong and Doyoung kept glaring at each other almost as if it was a competition. The tension was so intense one could cut it with a knife. I cleared my throat in a poor attempt to break their stare contest, but they didn’t even acknowledge my presence.
“I saw your last performance,” Doyoung finally spoke, scoffing. “You’re getting out of it, and here I expected to kick your ass in the finale. I wouldn’t be surprised if you and your partner got eliminated next week.”
I thought I had seen Taeyong furious, but right now, I was proven wrong. The way he looked at me whenever I was a handful during our practice was nothing compared to the way he glared at Doyoung. Taeyong was scary, and I decided to not get on his wrong side ever again.
“I’d gladly kick your ass here, but I’d rather wait for the finale. You know what people say about prolonged gratification,” Taeyong talked back, and I gasped, trying to comprehend what I just heard. Taeyong was getting cocky, and it made me nervous. I was already stressed about the possibility of performing, and he just added more pressure on my shoulders.
“We’ll see about that,” Doyoung replied, focusing his scrutinizing gaze on me. “But I have to say I kinda look forward to seeing you cry again. The way I beat you the last time was spectacular.”
“Let’s go, Taeyong. Don’t waste your breath on him. He’s not worth it,” I exclaimed, pulling Taeyong’s hand, reminding him I was there the whole time. I couldn’t listen to Doyoung talk trash about Taeyong. If Taeyong wasn’t going to walk away by himself, I had to intervene and pull him aside. Doyoung was provoking him.
“And who is that?” Doyoung asked in a mocking tone, displeased by the way I looked at him. Though I didn’t know the back story, I took Taeyong’s side. At least, Taeyong didn’t try to humiliate his rival, while Doyoung had already tried a few tricks to tick Taeyong off.
“You’re right,” Taeyong said, looking at me. It was evident he was holding himself back, trying his best not to take the bait. “Let’s go,” he added, pulling me away from Doyoung.
“Who was that?” I asked as we approached our booth. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my response. Upon arrival, we noticed that Seulgi was sprawled on the table, giggling to herself.
“Is she always like this?” I inquired, concerned about how drunk Seulgi got in such a short amount of time. We were gone for thirty minutes tops, and she was barely conscious after drinking her and our drinks.
“Aww… there you are… my dear friends,” she cooed cutely, trying to attack Taeyong with cuddles. She was adorable, but it was kind of irresponsible to drink by herself when we were on the dance floor. Thankfully, nothing happened. We returned just in time to collect her and escort her home.
“I can’t believe my plan worked,” Seulgi grinned, pointing her finger at Taeyong. “You no longer have a stick up your ass,” she exclaimed at Taeyong, too drunk to realize she should be talking to me. “And look at you! You were having fun!” Seulgi yelled, extending her arms to hug me. “I am so proud of you!”
“I should take her home,” Taeyong reasoned, considering it the safest option. He could call an Uber for Seulgi or just phone her fiancée to pick her up but bringing her home himself seemed to be the most rational solution. “Will you be alright by yourself?” He inquired, and I nodded right away. It was sweet of him to look after me too. Thankfully, I barely touched my cocktail; I could get home safely on my own.
“Don’t worry about me,” I replied casually, sending him a reassuring smile. “Just make sure Seulgi makes it home safe,” I added, warming up at the way Taeyong hauled up Seulgi, carefully leading her out of the club. It made me wonder if Johnny did the same to me. Probably. He wouldn’t be that gentle, though. If anything, he’d throw me over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes. Or just drag me out like a corpse.
“Give me a call once you get back home,” Taeyong demanded before we parted ways.

“You went clubbing without me?” Johnny dramatically asked after I told him everything that happened on the weekend. Despite my detailed narration, it seemed as if that was the only thing he caught on to. “How could you?”
“Relax, dude,” I rolled my eyes, shuffling around my desk, getting ready for work. It was Monday morning – it was about time we start our gossip routine.
“And I was wondering… would you mind helping me researching this shady dude? There’s some conflict between him and Taeyong. And I need to know what happened,” I started, wondering if Johnny would cooperate with me and put his stalking abilities to good use.
I was too embarrassed to ask Taeyong about Doyoung. Besides, I had a hunch he would either brush me off or scold me.
“Do you know anything about this dude besides his name?” Johnny pulled out his phone, no questions asked. “Please, don’t tell me that’s the only thing you know.”
“I mean… he’s probably a dancer,” I added with a sheepish smile, making Johnny heave a deep sigh. “He must be a big deal, though. Apparently, Taeyong lost a competition to him.”
“I’ll try to find some dirt, but it may be difficult given how little info you gave me,” Johnny declared as he began his thorough research.
It took Johnny five minutes to find the correct Doyoung. It was remarkable. If it wasn’t enough for the FBI to hire him, I’d gladly present them a recommendation letter. Quickly, I opened Doyoung’s profile on my phone, scrolling through his feed.
At first glance, Doyoung seemed to be a regular bratty internet star with an overgrown ego. His follower count was impressive. Studying his profile, I learned a lot about him. Unfortunately, it had no value. There was nothing specific about his conflict with Taeyong.
“How was your date with Wendy?” I asked Johnny as I gave up on my research. Whatever was the root of their bad blood would have to remain a mystery.
“It was fine,” Johnny started, but I could tell he wasn’t entirely honest. His disappointed tone betrayed him. “She left before the waiter brought the dessert. Apparently, she didn’t particularly like when I kept calling her Wanda.”
“Ouch.”
“No hard feelings, though,” Johnny shrugged it off, trying to focus on the positive aspect of their terrible date. “At least, I’ve had two slices of cheesecake. Besides, I’m kind of into Sooyoung from the creative team now. I think she is the one.”
“Every girl you’re into is the one,” I interjected, rolling my eyes, done with his antics.
“Oh, by the way, I’ve forgotten,” Johnny chimed in, staring at me in excitement. “Taeil asked me about you,” he revealed, and I almost spat out my morning coffee.
“What?”
“Are you still into him, though?” Johnny inquired, rubbing his temple in deep thought. “I haven’t heard you gush about him these days,” he pinpointed, and I wondered if my crush on Taeil was still as intense as it was a few months ago.
Taeil was insanely hot. I kept drooling whenever I saw him operate the printer. It was inappropriate to check him out whenever he bent down to change the ink, but I couldn’t help myself. Or whenever we met by the vending machine.
Good old times.
Right now, though, I rarely caught myself thinking about him. At first, I thought it was due to a hectic schedule. I was either at work or at the dance studio or getting shit-faced with Johnny on another wild adventure with him and his friends.
It was difficult to comprehend how easily my crush faded into thin air. Taeil was still sexy as fuck, but while I appreciate his looks, I wasn’t daydreaming how to get into his pants. At this point, I was just admiring his attributes in the most nonsexual way imaginable.
Apparently, the lack of response on my part was everything Johnny needed to confirm his suspicion.
“So what? Are you into Taeyong now?” Johnny asked boldly, and now, I actually choked on my coffee, thinking I heard him wrong. How did he jump to that conclusion?
“What?”
“Don’t get me wrong, but it kinda looks like you’re into him,” Johnny commented, playing with a pen. “You talk about him all the time with lots of passion. I think there’s something going on between you two. Is he single?”
“I talk about him all the time because I live to complain, and recently he’s the sole reason why I gotta vent,” I defended, but Johnny didn’t seem convinced. “And I don’t know if he’s single. I don’t really care,” quickly, I rejected all accusations, but in all honesty, his words got me wondering.
Was I attracted to Taeyong?
Surely, Taeyong was ridiculously attractive. He danced well, too. Unfortunately, we didn’t click much. There was passion between us, but it wasn’t romantically stemmed. We just kept annoying each other. I wouldn’t consider it sexual. We were just getting on each other’s nerves often, unable to properly solve our differences.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night, honey,” Johnny teased, and I fought the urge to throw the stapler at him. “I bet fifty bucks you’ve imagined him naked, fucking you dumb.”
What the fuck, John???
I did not imagine Taeyong naked!
Not until now, at least.
“I seriously hate you right now,” I complained, deciding it’s about time I focus on work.
 ***
After Johnny had planted naughty thoughts in my mind, each dance practice was unbearable. My mind was running wild, coming up with different scenarios involving Taeyong and me in intimate situations. It was wrong on so many levels, but I couldn’t bring myself to stop.
After months of practicing the dance routine, we decided it would be best to make some changes to the choreography. Though it was still sensual as hell, with our hands roaming each other’s bodies, we found it crucial to accentuate Taeyong’s talents.
It was a strategic plan. While typically male dancers helped the female dancers shine, we put a little twist to it. Though our performance was still pretty balanced, Taeyong had a few crucial parts of choreography, in which he would snatch everybody’s hearts.
Seulgi didn’t object to our strategy. Well… she was never there, to begin with. Seulgi was a ghost, never present during our practice, always busy doing some last-minute wedding prep.
“Let’s take a five,” Taeyong hollered as he turned off the music, sending us off to a short break. It sounded weird when it came out of his mouth, but I didn’t complain. We’ve been practicing nonstop for the past hour. At this point, I was panting.
Lying down onto the floor, I rested my head on my towel, reaching for my phone. Quickly, I unlocked it to see a series of notifications from Johnny. He had sent me a link to a video, telling me in all caps to watch it.
Having left the earphones in the locker room, I played the video quietly through my phone’s speaker. It was a short film with Doyoung. It must’ve been his performance from last year’s competition. Jamming to the music, I studied his moves.
Doyoung was really good. I mean… it wasn’t professional expertise, but I could tell he had talent. His body control was impeccable, his hip thrusts must’ve impregnated plenty of women in the audience, but his shoulder rolls were just otherworldly. Along with the female dancer, they showcased quite the performance. From the beginning to the very end, I couldn’t look away, failing to notice Taeyong approach me.
“What the hell are you doing?” Taeyong shouted, tearing my phone from my hand, double-checking what I was watching. “Why are you watching this?” He angrily asked, locking the device, wishing for it to stop playing music.
It was difficult to explain.
I couldn’t exactly tell Taeyong that I asked my best friend to do research on Doyoung in hopes of finding out what was the root of their conflict. Though we had never found anything substantial, Johnny would send me more footage to check out. However, regardless of how much stuff Johnny had provided me with, I was still clueless.
“Why are you shouting at me?” I spoke, biting on my bottom lip. I was in big trouble, so it was only logical to play dumb.
Taeyong stared down at me, demanding a genuine answer. His jaw was tensed, his knuckles around my phone turned white. It was just a meaningless clip, but it got him fuming at me. Regardless of what I’d tell him, he wouldn’t like the answer. I figured this much.
“Why were you watching that?” Taeyong yelled, raising his hand, almost smashing my phone against the floor. Thankfully, he held back and gently put it on my bag.
It was incredible how much the video affected Taeyong. The movie worked on Taeyong like a red rag to a bull. One moment he seemed fine, but once he figured out what I was watching, he snapped.
“You really want to know?” I challenged as I rose to my feet, staring at him. It was my turn to raise my voice. If he kept shouting at me, I was going to give him the same treatment. “Ever since that night at the club, I was curious. You were basically throwing daggers at each other, and I really wanted to know what happened between you two. You never bothered to explain it, and I didn’t want to push you.”
“Do you have your answers now?” Taeyong exclaimed, and I rolled my eyes, agitating him even more with my fed-up behavior. He was scary right now, but I refused to let him intimidate me. “Or do you want to read my diary too?!”
I resisted the temptation of saying yes to his offering. Taeyong wasn’t the type of person to write a dairy. He was exaggerating, but I didn’t want to provoke him further. At any mention of Doyoung’s name, wrath took control over Taeyong, turning him into his destructive self.
“If it makes you feel any better, I know shit about him,” I confessed, throwing my hands in the air. “I wanted to know what he did to you, but I came up with nothing. And believe it or not, the way he treated you that night made me worry. You’re my dance partner, and I care about you a lot, and it really hurt me seeing you in distress,” I spat, not thinking about consequences. I was talking without filter, probably spilling too much information.
My verbal diarrhea confused Taeyong. His huge eyes were staring at me in astonishment. He was studying my expression, wondering if everything I said was true. Oh, no! My reckless words made him uncomfortable. He must’ve grown to hate now.
In embarrassment, I looked down at my shoes. I felt terrible, and I needed to come up with something clever to say to save my dignity and ease the tension. However, before I managed to voice my sincere apology, I felt Taeyong’s hands cup my cheeks as he surged forward and kissed my breath away. It was sudden, but I reciprocated the kiss in an instant.
Stress, anxiety, anger, sexual frustration, and probably many other factors led us to this very moment. I had been daydreaming about Taeyong’s mouth on mine for a while now. And when it finally happened, I eagerly swept my tongue across his lips, deepening the kiss. Though I had tried my best to withstand the tension between us, I wasn’t oblivious to it.
Taeyong already knew almost every inch of my body, so his hands naturally began roaming across my skin. Moaning into the kiss, he held me closer, keeping me pressed against him.
“Taeyong,” I breathed out as I pulled away, only for Taeyong to smash his lips against mine again, successfully shushing me. This time around, the kiss was even more passionate, making my knees weak. In a rush, Taeyong pushed me against the wall, pushing his thigh between my legs. “We shouldn’t,” I spoke, but my tone wasn’t convincing at all. I wasn’t even sure who I was trying to convince that it was a bad idea.
“Shut up,” Taeyong demanded as he tilted his face, sucking on my bottom lip. His hands were on my butt, kneading my flesh, trying to make me moan into his mouth. In all honesty, it worked. Maybe, I whimpered incoherent sounds, but it’s was just a poor attempt to encourage him to keep kissing me.
Regardless of how much he was to gift me, I needed more. I wasn’t going to stop until I’d take everything Taeyong was willing to give.
I craned my neck to the side, and Taeyong quickly caught on, leaving a wet trail down my neck. His lips were delicate, careful not to leave a mark, while his hips were grinding against me, letting me feel how stiff he already was.
“Legs,” Taeyong ordered, gently slapping my thigh. Obediently, I spread my legs apart, letting his hand cup my sex. It was ridiculous how horny he was making me. Once his raspy voice echoed in my ears, I fulfilled his wish, waiting for another command in excitement.
“Please,” I begged, needing more of him. Whatever he planned on doing to me, I needed it now. Whether he was to tease me with his beautiful fingers or fuck me raw with his cock, he better do it now.
“Patience, sweetheart,” he whispered against my skin, pressing feather-like kisses along my collarbone. His touch was driving me insane. His hands were everywhere but where I wanted them the most. This type of teasing should be illegal.
It was more than I could take, so I took matters into my own hands. I could play this game, too. With a mischievous smirk upon my face, I hooked my forefinger under the band of his tracksuit bottoms. Unfortunately, Taeyong quickly swept my hand away.
“You’re such a bad girl,” Taeyong commented before he captured my lips again, sliding his tongue into my mouth, knowing I’d talk back to him. “You have to do everything your way. Would it kill you if you listened to me at least once?” Taeyong muttered, staring into my eyes.
Yes, I was a brat. Taeyong wanted me to submit to him, and I would do it eventually, but not before I’d tease him first. What was fun in that?
“Don’t answer that,” he added, and I rolled my eyes. Though we barely hung out outside the dance studio, Taeyong learned a lot about me. Having an answer to everything was one of those things he had the pleasure of discovering.
“Just fuck me, please,” I said nicely, staring into his eyes, hoping it would be enough to make him cave. “I can’t take it any longer,” I added, rubbing my loins against his restrained cock, making him let out a guttural moan.
My plan was working. Slowly, Taeyong was giving in, probably taking his time to think about the consequences of letting me experience instant gratification. Orgasm would’ve been sweeter if he made me wait a bit more, but it was difficult for him to control his urges.
Without any doubt, Taeyong wanted to bury his cock inside of me as much as I wanted him to fuck me dumb. We withstood so many practices without jumping at each other – I should consider it foreplay.
“Fine, but I’m gonna eat you out first,” Taeyong spoke, and I almost lost it by just imagining his jaw going between my thighs. Swiftly, he knelt in front of me, pulling my leggings down to my ankles in one fluid motion. Having kicked off my gym shoes, I wiggled the fabric off my feet, sending it flying across the dance studio.
Taeyong ran his fingers across my panties, inspecting how soaked they already were. With a smirk upon Taeyong’s face, he pressed a chaste kiss against my skin above the waistband before he yanked the undergarment down.
“Beautiful,” he said under his breath before he surged his face, taking my clit between his gorgeous lips, making me tilt my head in pleasure. Frustration got me sensitive. Even the slightest touch got me purring in delight.
Taeyong licked and nipped at my entrance, and I run my hands through his hair, encouraging him to keep going. He flicked his tongue, and I buckled my hips, wanting more.
“I need your fingers,” I pleaded, looking down at him. Taeyong looked breathtaking, with my juices were dripping down his sharp jaw, with his lips turned into a satisfied smirk. He was proud of how he was making me feel. His glistening skin was the very evidence of his skillful moves. “Taeyong, please, I am so close.”
Though I didn’t expect him to, Taeyong listened to my humble request. His middle finger slid right it, making me purr in satisfaction. I could finally feel him inside of me, and it was heavenly. His palm moved quickly, working me up.
The first orgasm was building up. Taeyong was fucking me now with two fingers while his mouth was fiddling with my clit. If it wasn’t for Taeyong’s palm, holding me still, I’d buckle right into his face for more friction.
“I’m about to come,” I declared, shutting my eyes close. As tempting as it was to peek at the mirror on the other wall and check out the view of Taeyong eating me out, it was more than I could take. My instinct to squeeze my eyes shut and welcome the orgasm was too much.
Unfortunately, it didn’t happen.
Before tiny tingles of electricity could unite and explode, shooting through me like a lightning strike, Taeyong pulled away, denying me of my orgasm. It physically hurt when instead of a blissful peak, I felt nothing.
“What the fuck?” I barked angrily, ready to pull him by his hair against my sex and press him against me, so he could finish the job.
“We’re coming together, or we’re not coming at all,” Taeyong sternly replied, standing up. His lips were swollen from all the work he was doing, and they looked even more kissable.
“I’ve never pegged you for such a teaser,” I stated matter-of-factly, still a little bit butt-hurt over the way how smug he was about not letting me come first. Maybe I was a handful most of the time, but I didn’t do anything wrong to deserve such treatment.
“I’m not,” Taeyong chimed in, biting down on his lip. “There’s just something about you that makes me want to punish for your misbehavior,” he explained, and I got it where it came from. I wasn’t the best student he could work with. “Isn’t it the sweetest torture?” Taeyong challenged before he surged forward, smashing his lips against mine again, raising my thigh and giving it a gentle rub.
“Please, Taeyong, I need you inside of me,” I begged as I ground my sex against his rock-hard cock. I couldn’t comprehend how self-disciplined and patient he was; his budge was throbbing underneath his pants. It must’ve been painful for him, and he did all of that to teach me a lesson. “Fuck me, already.”
“Relax, sweetheart. I got you,” he softly spoke as he hoisted me up, pressing me tightly against the wall. “To be honest, I expected you to lose it sooner,” Taeyong added, and I hoped he was talking about my sanity. I endured more than enough; his teasing was too much.
“How should I fuck you?” Taeyong asked, looking around the practice room, seeking a perfect spot to stuff his cock inside of me. We didn’t have a lot of options, but I didn’t care. He could fuck me in the middle of the room, and I’d eagerly spread my legs for him. “Screw it,” he cursed, gently lowering me down onto the floor. “Do you mind?” Taeyong inquired, and I shook my head as I wrapped my legs around his hips, pressing him against me.
“Strip,” I ordered, and Taeyong smirked before he pulled his T-shirt over his head, revealing his lean physique. My eyes marveled at his beautiful shoulders and toned muscles. I had touched him more than I could count, but I never saw him bare, and when I finally did, I gawked.
“What about you, sweetheart? Come on, I am waiting,” Taeyong teased, and I took off my T-shirt. I was only in my sports bra, and Taeyong bit his lip, staring down at me, admiring my simple beauty. With no further comment, Taeyong leaned in, attacking my collarbone. It was hot how attentive he was, but right now, all I needed was his cock buried deep down my cunt.
Desperately, I reached to his sweatpants, palming his erection through the fabric. As soon as I touched him, Taeyong released a needy growl, rolling his hips into my hand, finally giving in to the pleasure. He lost his self-restraint, and now, he seriously needed to fill me up with his throbbing length.
“Take them off,” I breathed out, pulling by the hem of his pants. With a lowered head, Taeyong tsked before he yanked them down to his knees, wriggling out of them. Just as I expected, his cock urgently entailed my attention.
Though the thought of blowing him crossed my mind, I eventually decided not to entertain this idea too much. It was apparent Taeyong wanted to him inside of my pussy. I’d suck him dry on a different occasion. Hopefully, it would happen soon.
“Fuck me, Taeyong,” I moaned as I trembled when the tip of his cock brushed against my folds. I was embarrassingly sensitive after his ministrations, and he dared to tease me again. “Please,” I begged as I gave his length a few gentle strokes, aligning it with my entrance.
“Aaahh…” Taeyong growled, slowly pushing his dick inside of me. Inch by inch, he filled me up, stretching my walls. A lot of different sinful noises came out of his mouth as he began steadily thrusting his hips.
Taeyong’s stamina was no joke. It was hard to believe how long he could snap his hips without messing up his rhythm. His low voice mixed with my desperate moans echoed inside the room, creating a wicked symphony along with the sound of our sweaty bodies smashing against each other.
He was fucking me hard, and I was in seventh heaven. Taeyong was filling me up so good; I could come undone on his cock anytime.
“Taeyong,” I moaned his name as I watched him fuck me. Though it was hot to look at his cock disappear in my pussy, it was even sweeter to stare in the mirror. With my head turned to the side, I studied the whole picture how Taeyong was fucking me.
“I am coming,” I screamed as I felt the bliss approach. Taeyong was panting, struggling to maintain his tempo with the way my walls tightened around his sensitive cock. Once he hit my sweet spot, I was a goner. After a few thrusts, I came, digging my nails in his back.
“Fuck,” Taeyong cursed, shouting my name as he shot his load inside of me, collapsing on top of me. We were a breathless mess, our bodies sticking together, but neither of us minded. At this point, we were too spent to care. “You were incredible,” Taeyong whispered as he pulled out, rolling to the side.
“You weren’t that bad yourself,” I panted, giggling, still recovering from the mind-blowing orgasm. Thankfully, Taeyong didn’t pay much attention to my playful jab. “I meant it what I said,” I added, turning around to look at him.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you,” Taeyong started, staring into my eyes, showing me his sincerity. “I just can’t help myself but get angry when I see him or hear about him,” he continued, and I nodded my head, letting him know I was willing to listen.
I didn’t expect that Taeyong would agree to vent to me, but when he did, I patiently heard him out. After all, I was pretty sure we were at least friends now.
“It all happened about a year ago. We were competing in the same contest, and he made my dance partner quit. Doyoung seduced her, toyed with her, and once the trophy was his, he dumped her. Because of him, I was disqualified, and she quit dance altogether.”
Listen to his story made me both sad and angry. Doyoung had been a dick to interfere like that – he must’ve known he hadn’t stood a chance against them in a fair fight. My blood was boiling in my veins as I put all the pieces together.
Sadness took over next. The way Doyoung had manipulated Taeyong’s dance partner was upsetting. The wound had been cut so deep, she couldn’t have forced herself to keep going. Doyoung had wrecked two lives, and it made my blood boil, too.
“We’re gonna beat him. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure we do,” I spoke, reassuring him. It was impossible to tend the wounds, but the least I could do is help Taeyong win. For what he had done, Doyoung deserved punishment. If I were Taeyong, I’d not hesitate to beat him up.
“I hope so,” Taeyong muttered, reaching for my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “It’s still fine if we don’t. I’m pretty sure karma will get to him eventually,” he added with a sigh.
“I’ll work harder,” I declared, feeling an extra wave of determination wash through me. “I’ll try my best,” I said, and Taeyong smiled fondly, content to hear me say it.
“Thanks. It means a lot to me.”
For a while, we were staring at each other. It felt nice and somehow more intimate than all the fucking we had done. If we were in bed, I could do it all night. Unfortunately, we were still lying on the uncomfortable floor.
“Let’s get washed up before we get too sappy,” I added, trying to ease the tension. I really enjoyed it, but it was getting a little too much.
“I hope you don’t mind sharing the shower with me. You know… water bills are a bitch,” Taeyong spoke, and I giggled at his bullshit excuse, finding it incredibly cute, considering what we had been doing a few minutes ago.
“Of course they are,” I deadpanned, chuckling. Though his excuse was lame, I liked Taeyong enough to go with it. “Come on. Let’s go. I don’t want anyone to catch me naked.”
 ***
After that one time at the dance studio, Taeyong and I made it a regular thing. However, we kept it civilized. We wouldn’t jump each other’s bones in the open like animals like we had done the first time. Usually, we would go on small kind-of-dates, which consisted of picking up food, going to my or his place, and then rolling in the sheets.
We were having lots of fun. It was a perfect way to de-stress. After all, the finale was this Saturday, and we were nervous as hell. In all honesty, I was still scared, but these orgasms were numbing my anxiety.
“I think that’s it,” Taeyong spoke, and I smiled brightly, unable to contain my joy. It was the first time Taeyong ever approved of our performance. Most of the time, he was nitpicking, complaining about the slightest mistake, but finally, he was satisfied with it.
I was ecstatic; I never expected to live up to Taeyong’s approval. Through hard work and persistence, I managed to earn his eulogy.
“What should we do now? How about we order some food?” I asked, feeling in a celebratory mood. Maybe it was a little bit too early to drink to this small success, but it’s still worth a shot.
“We should do it again. We should dance it flawlessly at least a couple of hundred consecutive times before celebrating,” Taeyong seriously replied, and I rolled my eyes. Despite his painstaking nature, a couple of hundred times, it was a bit too much. Even for him. “Don’t give me that look. Let’s start again; five, six, seven, eight.”
Though usually, I’d complain and try to force him into a five-minute break, right now, I was oddly energized. We were dancing for the past two hours, and I was panting out of exhaustion. Nevertheless, the thoughts of finally mastering the choreography kept me going.
“I’m pretty good at this,” I confidently commented while roaming my hands across Taeyong’s shoulders before he twirled me around to the rhythm. I could tell that Taeyong was just waiting for an excuse to pause the music and scold me for making a mistake. However, much to his dismay, I executed every move impeccably. “I had a pretty good teacher,” I added, stroking his ego. The D-day was approaching, and Taeyong obviously needed an extra boost of confidence.
“I must admit you were a piece of work. I have no idea what kind of sorcery is this,” Taeyong teased, staring into my eyes. We had practiced the routine plenty of times; we could probably perform it in blindfolds and not make a single mistake. “I must be a magician or something.”
“Don’t push it,” I warned him in a very non-threatening tone, making him smirk. “But it’s only partially your success. Seulgi told me I have the it™ factor,” I proudly said, cracking Taeyong up, messing the choreography. “Is it a student-has-become-the-master kind of moment?” I asked, laughing at Taeyong. For the dance prodigy, he was getting distracted way too easily. It was suspicious.
With a broad smile upon his face, Taeyong grabbed my wrists, making me look at him.
“How about we finish up for today? I have a surprise for you,” Taeyong said, and I cocked my eyebrows, biting my bottom lip. “Not that kind of surprise,” he added, rolling his eyes at me. “We might get it on later, though.”
“What kind of surprise then?”
“Wait a second,” Taeyong spoke, quickly jogging out of the practice room. In a minute, he was back with a garment bag in his hands. “Here, that’s for you. Seulgi came in the morning to drop it off for you,” he explained, and I pulled down the zipper. It was going to be my costume for the contest, and I was curious how it looked.
I was speechless. At first, I thought it was a joke. I wouldn’t be able to perform in that. However, the more I looked at it, the more sense it made. It was a simple white suit shirt, but when mixed with a leather body harness, high-waisted shorts, and boots, it fitted the concept beautifully.
“Do you like it? I thought it was too revealing, but Seulgi insisted you would look amazing in it. I mean… it fits the mood, but if you’re not comfortable with it, we still have some time to find something else,” Taeyong blabbered, and my heart swelled. It was very sweet of him to consider my comfort above anything else.
“It’s skimpy, but it’s fine. I like it,” I replied, having no idea where my confidence was coming from. A few months ago, I’d be anxious to even try it on in the confines of my bedroom. However, now I was planning on showing a lot of skin on national television during prime hours on the weekend. I must’ve gone insane.
“Do you want to try it on?” Taeyong challenged, pulling the hangers out of the bag.
“You mean… here?!”
“Come on, it wouldn’t be the first time you took off your clothes in the middle of the practice room,” Taeyong concluded, smiling at me mischievously.
“Pass,” I firmly rejected his dare, even though it felt tempting. “It’s not fun when I’m doing it alone,” I added, and Taeyong grabbed the hem of his T-shirt, more than ready to discard his clothes in a blink of an eye. “Don’t fool around,” I warned him, placing my hand over his before he managed to take his T-shirt off.
“You’re right. Let’s go to my place first,” Taeyong agreed, zipping the bag before he grabbed my hand, leading me out of the practice room.
 ***
On the day of the performance, I woke up with a terrible stomach ache. No matter how much fantastic sex Taeyong and I had, I was not mentally prepared to perform in front of the whole nation. I felt sick, almost as if my body was telling me to quit before I’d embarrass myself on national television. Stress was eating me from the inside.
“What are you doing up so early? Let’s go back to bed,” Taeyong purred in his raspy morning voice as he sneaked his arm around my waist, pulling me against him. “You need to be rested before the performance. Trust me, you don’t want a camera to catch you yawning,” he added, nuzzling his nose in the crook of my neck, breathing hot air against my skin.
“Thanks for giving me one more thing to stress about,” I deadpanned, heaving a deep sigh, staring at the ceiling. It was a mistake. I should have never agreed to Seulgi’s proposition in the first place. What the hell was I thinking? “I think it’s a bad idea. We should quit.”
Taeyong wasn’t in the mood for my nagging so early in the morning; he was having none of it. “You’re being ridiculous. We’ve practiced so much. We’re gonna win it with ease,” he declared, pressing a featherlike kiss against my jaw. “But for real,” he added, climbing on top of me, trapping me between his thighs, “we’re going to win. And even if we don’t, it’s fine. Really, if somehow we lose to Doyoung and his partner, I’ll just punch him backstage.”
“How can you say that?” I said with a sigh, running my hands across his thighs, finding it rather calming. “I know you said we should rest, but how about…” I trailed, and Taeyong smiled before eagerly capturing my lips, reading me like an open book.
“Say no more,” Taeyong whispered before his hands traveled under my shirt.
Unfortunately, Taeyong’s phone started buzzing on the nightstand before he managed to pull my panties down. With a groan, he extended his arm, staring at the screen.
“It’s Seulgi.”
“What are you waiting for? It’s her wedding day. Pick it up,” I yelled at him as I fell on the pillow, admiring his handsome face when he was talking to Seulgi.
“Please, not you, too,” he barked, rubbing his face in annoyance. Though I barely could make out what she was saying, I figured this much Seulgi and I were suffering from the same stress-fuelled illness. It was her wedding day, after all. Even if it was obvious she loved Irene with a burning passion, she wasn’t immune to pre-wedding anxiety.
Seulgi was talking her stress away, and Taeyong just hummed and nodded his head, registering her words. For some reason, the pressure didn’t seem to bother Taeyong at all. It was weird, but at least he was the voice of reason, which could help me and Seulgi cope.
“Breath in, breath out,” Taeyong spoke when Seulgi made a pause long enough for him to interject. “I know it’s a big deal, but there’s nothing to worry about. You’re getting married to Irene. You love her so much,” Taeyong reminded her, winking at me, expecting Seulgi to end the call soon. “Everybody’s a little nervous; it’s completely normal.”
It was beautiful how close Taeyong and Seulgi were. They had each other’s backs in all types of situations.
About ten minutes later, Seulgi finally calmed down. Taeyong’s reassuring words swept the anxiety away, and she was more than ready to get married to the love of her life.
Once Seulgi hung up, Taeyong threw his phone on the bed and secured my legs around his hips before he leaned forward, giving me a quick kiss. “Seulgi says hi, by the way,” he added, sneaking his hand under the hem of my panties.
“What?”
“What do you mean what?” Taeyong looked down at me, creasing his eyebrows in confusion.
“She knows?” I yelled, unable to comprehend how, on Earth, Seulgi figured out I was in Taeyong’s bed. She couldn’t know. She wasn’t even there when our romance bloomed. “How?”
“Yeah, is it a bad thing, though? You didn’t want to fuck me in secret, did you?” Taeyong challenged, not really answering my inquiry. Did Seulgi figure it out on her own? Or did Taeyong told her about us? And, the biggest question mark was: what were we to begin with? “Seulgi must have some sort of sixth sense. She was bothering me about the sexual tension between us since day one of your training.”
“I wouldn’t call it sexual tension per se, but there was something going on,” I replied, reminiscing how rocky our beginning was. “But I think we were interrupted…” I reminded him, and Taeyong with a playful smirk on his face dived right between my thighs.
 ***
The streaming should begin at 8 p.m., but we had to arrive before 5 p.m., so the make-up artists and stylists could prepare us for the performance. Sitting in that chair and waiting for all pampering to be over with was stressful as fuck. I tried to preoccupy myself with an idea of Taeyong, but whenever someone threw a question in my direction, I was being pulled out of my train of happy thoughts.
I wanted to get on the stage and be done with it. Unfortunately, whoever funded that contest didn’t think of the mental health of its participants when making today’s schedule.
Punctually, the show began its transmission at 8 o’clock. However, at the very beginning, the MC had to introduce all sponsors. Going through them took him about twenty minutes. Then, they interviewed some of the eliminated dancers, asking them questions either about their experience in the competition or simply who they thought would win.
Later, they decided to rewind the contestants’ moments in the show. At first, they showed Doyoung and his partner, and a few experts analyzed their performance, wondering what the odds of them winning were.
When the host announced the rewind of Taeyong’s and Seulgi’s stages, the jury only talked about the sudden switch up, confirming it was the first time it ever happened in the grand finale. It startled a lot of people why would Seulgi drop out, but Taeyong explained it in a brief interview.
“It was a crazy coincidence, but Seulgi couldn’t participate today because she is getting married today,” Taeyong revealed, and the audience cooed loudly, obviously supporting her choice. “I was stressed at first, but Seulgi found an amazing dancer to take her spot. She really chose well,” he added, and I looked at him, trying not to cry in front of everyone.
It was almost impossible to fish out a compliment from Taeyong during practice, but right now, he did it on his own accord, melting my heart with his words.
“Everybody is dying to know more about your partner,” the MC started, shifting his attention to me. I didn’t particularly like to be put in the spotlight, but before I managed to spit some nonsense, Taeyong butt in, rescuing the day.
“Although she doesn’t have much experience in dance competitions, I think she’s a great dancer. To think of it, she is my secret weapon,” Taeyong added, and I almost ran into his arms, feeling too overwhelmed by his speech.
“Alright then, let’s see what you got after a short commercial break,” the MC cheerfully announced before I bolted out of the stage as I felt the stress crept into my head.
“Calm down,” Taeyong softly spoke as he approached me, holding my hand, drawing circles with his thumb. “You’ve got this. Just focus on me,” he added, flashing me a reassuring smile before kissing my knuckles.
“Awww… isn’t it adorable?” Someone snickered, and I didn’t need to turn my head around to know it was Doyoung. He was like a venomous snake, trying to sneak into our subconscious and make us even more anxious. It couldn’t be fair play.
“Buzz off,” I barked as I didn’t want to let him tick Taeyong off. Taeyong was my safety pin, and I didn’t want him to go full rage on Doyoung. Their backstage battle would make it to the news, but I’d rather prevent it from happening.
“With Seulgi on your arm, I was giving you a five percent chance of winning,” Doyoung started, ignoring my warning. “Now, when she’s gone, I won’t even have fun beating you on the stage,” he added, and I almost surged forward to punch him. If it wasn’t for Taeyong, who held me in my place, I’d definitely rearranged Doyoung’s face.
“Don’t let him get into your head,” Taeyong whispered into my ear, and I nodded my head, sighing. Then, it struck me. Doyoung’s motive wasn’t to mess with Taeyong but with me. He knew I was the weakest link, and he wanted to guarantee his victory by making me doubt myself. His words rung in my head, but one look at Taeyong helped me relax. We had practiced it a thousand times; there was not a chance I would make a mistake.
“Come on. Let’s go. They’re calling us out,” Taeyong mused, pulling me towards the stage.
The silence filled the auditorium when we got on the stage, taking our respective places. I stole a glance at Taeyong – he was mouthing words of encouragement seconds before the MC announced our performance.
I can hear it callin'
Loving the way you wanna talk
Touch me, tease me, feel me up
Callin', something in the way you wanna talk
On two sides of the stage, we moved to the rhythm, telling the story of two strangers lusting over each other from afar. With hunger in our eyes, we tried to seduce each other with sharp movements, showcasing our attributes.
You got me sayin', you got me sayin'
How you doing? Tell me what's your name (Ey, tell me what's your name?)
What's your sign? Feeling like you are into me
Taeyong ran up to me like a man enchanted by the siren’s voice, rolling his body against mine. It was his moment to shine; everybody’s eyes were on him as he owned the stage with his overflowing charisma.
Baby, we're two distant strangers
I know you don't speak my language
But I love the way she's talking to me (Talking to me)
I can hear it callin' from where you are
Loving the way you wanna talk
Touch me, tease me, feel me up
Touch me, tease me, feel me up
It was a classic game of cat and mouse. Though our bodies were so close to each other, we moved in perfect synchronization, careful not to brush against each other. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and the feeling of yearning was visible from the very last row.
Max, max, max, we can have it all (To the max)
If you back, back, back, back, back it up (Back it, back it)I'll take you where you wanna, got the gas in the tank (Wow)
If you really wanna make it last (Git, git, git)
Finally, as the song slowly progressed to the end, we were showing intense frustration. We were portraying two individuals, yearning for intimate contact, who were hastily losing their minds over uncontrollable passion.
I can hear it callin' from where you are (Callin', woo)
Loving the way you wanna talk (Love the way you talk)
Touch me, tease me, feel me up (Yeah, yeah)
Touch me, tease me, feel me up
The song was to end soon. The last chorus rolled in – it was our cue. After all teasing, we finally made the connection, ready to combust out of raw craze. After three minutes of painful longing, we were to reach completion.
I can hear it callin' from where you are (Callin', woo)
Loving the way you wanna talk (Love the way you talk)
Touch me, tease me, feel me up (Yeah, yeah)
Touch me, tease me, feel me up
It was all or nothing. We were finally together, touching each other with fervor.  The audience was eating our performance up – particularly when Taeyong showcased his flexibility and body control.
Tell me how you like it babe (How you)
I don't even know your name (How you, ey)
I love the way you're talking to me
It was finally time to finish our performance with a bang; we needed to show something spectacular, something Doyoung wouldn’t ever think about. As the singer began the last verse, it was my cue to run into Taeyong’s embrace. The second the last syllable rolled of the singer’s tongue, Taeyong caught me in his arms, and the lights went out to add a dramatic twist to our performance.
For a while, the audience was silent. However, a few seconds later, they roared in excitement, clapping loudly, showing how much they enjoyed our stage.
The MC was congratulating us, but I was too thrilled to register his words. I still couldn’t believe I performed on national television and didn’t trip and smash my face.
I had no idea how I found myself backstage, but there was a high chance Taeyong led me off the stage. I was too overwhelmed to do it on my own.
I even forgot that Johnny, together with Yeri – the love of his week, had backstage passes. I only remembered that when he wrapped his arms around me in a bear hug, congratulating me.
“You gotta quit that office job and start dancing professionally,” Johnny ordered, and I smiled, glad that he enjoyed my performance. “We both gotta quit. You’ll be dancing, and I’ll be a badass FBI agent.”
“You two were great,” Yeri politely said when Johnny let me go. “Thank you so much for letting me backstage.”
“No problem,” Taeyong replied as he grabbed my shaking hands. “Are you okay?” He asked, cupping my face, making me look at him. “You rocked the stage,” he added before he leaned forward to peck my lips.
Ignoring Johnny’s perplexed expression, I wrapped my arms around Taeyong in a comfortable hug. I hadn’t suitably introduced Johnny to the concept of me dating Taeyong, but hopefully, our interaction got the message across.
Emotions were slowly fading away, but I still needed Taeyong’s support. I was a rookie, and I had no experience with this type of stress. Something was calming about Taeyong’s aura; I couldn’t pinpoint what exactly, but I wasn’t going to question it.
“Anticipation is killing me,” I muttered against his skin. “Can he already go on that fucking stage?” I yelled, wondering why Doyoung’s performance didn’t start yet. I knew the MC was building up tension, but it was too much for me to handle.
“We could always skip,” Taeyong casually spoke, and I pulled away to look at him. What the hell was he talking about? I hadn’t agreed to help him out, so we didn’t wait until the end. “If we lose, we lose. If we win, your friend can accept the prize, can’t he?”
“Are you insane?”
“Maybe a little bit,” he answered with a bright smile, brushing stray hair off my forehead. “I just want to know the result already so we can go to Seulgi’s wedding and congratulate them,” he added, and I nodded my head. Though we couldn’t participate during the ceremony, the least we could do was to show up ridiculously late to the reception.
“Can they hurry the fuck up now?” I craned my neck, trying to find Doyoung and his partner. They were arguing about something right behind the curtain. Everything seemed they weren’t in the right headspace.
“I don’t think I want to see their performance,” Taeyong whispered, tightening his grasp on my waist. “How about a quickie in the dressing room? What do you say?” He proposed, and I smacked him, telling him to behave. It was tempting, but we really shouldn’t. I wouldn’t walk up that stage with messed-up post-sex hair.
“Get a grip,” I added, gently elbowing him. “Let’s just hit the snack table. I am hungry,” I spoke, pulling him away when the MC invited Doyoung and his dance partner onto the stage.
While munching on snacks, we stared at each other fondly. In some weird way, we were helping each other cope with anticipation and stress. Though it was tempting to check out their performance, we decided it was for the better if we didn’t.
They performed to “Hips Don’t Lie,” and it was almost impossible to turn my head around to check out Doyoung’s sick moves. Having considered all the videos I had seen of him, I was sure he looked gorgeous.
“What about a little peek?” Taeyong questioned, unable to control his urge to see his rival’s performance. “I thought I could endure it, but I can’t,” he added, and I nodded, giving in. Instantly, we ran to the nearest screen to watch their stage.
It was everything I imagined. Their moves were executed with precision and grace, but entertainment-wise, I was bored. They had the skills, but something about the general concept didn’t fulfill my expectations.
No matter how great of a dancer Doyoung was, he just could not pull this song off as the original artist did. Regardless of how hard he swayed his hips, it just didn’t live up to its potential. Though I wasn’t educated enough to give an honest review, it felt meh.
The audience in the studio whistled and shouted once they finished their performance, giving them a round of applause. With genuine smiles, Doyoung and his partner bowed before they ran off the stage.
Now, only thirty minutes of aggressive advertising, and we would know the winner.
“Is it too late to agree to that quickie?”
“You should’ve said so earlier,” Taeyong answered with an innocent smile as he reached to hold my hand. “The best I can do is cuddles,” he added, leading me to the couch, letting me rest my head on his shoulder. “It feels nice.”
“It does, but it doesn’t take my mind off things like a quickie would.”
“Don’t even try. I am not going on that stage with a boner in my pants,” Taeyong warned, peeling my hand off his thigh, pressing a delicate kiss against my knuckles.
Though it wasn’t as preoccupying as sex, it was still nice. And most importantly, it took our minds off the unbearable anticipation. A staff member actually needed to gently shake Taeyong’s shoulder to remind us that the MC was calling us to the stage.
Taeyong’s hand didn’t leave mine once we were waiting for the big reveal. It was fine if we lost. Next year, Seulgi and Taeyong would definitely make it to the top.
When the MC announced the winner, a few confetti bombs exploded. The audience roared in excitement, but I had no clue what was going on. Uncertainty was over – one of us won.
Stress, anticipation, and anxiety slowed down my reactions. However, I figured it would be weird if Taeyong picked me up and spun me around in his arms if we lost. It could only mean one thing – we did it.
We won.
Taeyong’s acceptance speech was short and simple. He thanked everyone who succored him discover his passion for dancing, who supported him throughout his dream, who directly helped him get this far, and me.
When I was handed the microphone for the first time that evening, I basically rephrased Taeyong words. Maybe it wasn’t my dream, but it felt damn good to assist Taeyong in achieving his. It was a bumpy road, but overall, it was all worth it.
The MC handed me a statue after shaking my hand, congratulating me once more. Taeyong, on the other hand, was gifted a huge check for 20 thousand dollars.
“Let’s go,” Taeyong whispered to me, running off the stage with me.
 ***
It was shortly before midnight when the Uber parked in front of the hotel where Seulgi’s and Irene’s reception took place. It was beautifully decorated with lights and flowers, making it look like a magical castle.
Though the security didn’t want to grant entrance, one of Seulgi’s aunts recognized Taeyong and told the man to let us in. She was nice enough to help us out, but she still found some time to glance disapprovingly at my stage costume. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gossiped to her entire family I was a prostitute.
As soon as we walked into the ballroom, Seulgi noticed us. She was sitting by the table, eating the wedding cake with Irene. In an instant, she rose from her chair and ran up to us, throwing herself on Taeyong’s neck.
“You won! I knew it!” She shouted as she gave Taeyong a bone-crushing hug. “Irene and I sneaked out for a while to watch your performance. You smashed them,” Seulgi added before she turned to me, congratulating me too.
“You were amazing,” Irene approached us, sending a polite smile. Unlike Seulgi, Irene was much calmer and collected.
“You are finally married,” Taeyong spoke, beaming. “You better have everything recorded. I gotta know every embarrassing thing that I missed,” he added in a teasing manner, earning a playful jab from Seulgi. “I bet you cried during your vows.”
“Congratulations,” I chimed in, breaking their friendly banter before it properly started. It was Seulgi’s wedding day, after all.
After we caught up, Seulgi and Irene walked off to the dance floor, leaving us by the table alone. For a while, we admired them. They looked absolutely stunning in their white suits, dancing, basking in happiness.
“Do you know where the gifts are held?” I inquired suddenly, looking around.
“Why? Did you have time to get them anything?” Taeyong asked before he stuffed his mouth with a chocolate glazed strawberry. “Or are you thinking of stealing some?”
“I just want to give them my part of the prize,” I started, making Taeyong choke on the fruit. “Seulgi’s the rightful winner, and I think it’s only right.”
“Are you sure? It’s a lot of money.”
“Yeah, I know, but I really want to do that,” I replied, fiddling with my fingers. “I don’t need this money, so I want to give it to her.”
“You’re so hot right now,” Taeyong said, making me turn my head in embarrassment. “If that’s what you really want to do, do it. But remember, you earned it.”
“I am sure.”
“Then let me spoil you with my prize,” Taeyong offered, staring into my eyes. At first, I thought he was joking, but when his gaze didn’t even falter, I understood how serious he was. “Well… look at that. What are the odds?” Taeyong spoke as a familiar melody echoed within the walls of the grand ballroom. “It’s our song. Shall we dance?”
Having glanced at Seulgi, who whispered something to the DJ, I smiled at Taeyong. Though I was sick and tired of Love Talk already, it was kind of our song. We had been listening to this song too much, and regardless of how good it was, the prospect of it being our anthem terrified me.
“One last time,” I gave in, accepting Taeyong’s invitation, letting him lead me to the dance floor. Despite having mastered the choreography to it, I just wrapped my arms around his neck, slowly waltzing to it.
“That’s nothing like we practiced,” Taeyong pinpointed, and I chuckled, shaking my head. “I don’t mind, though. It’s comfy,” he added as his hands found purchase on my hips.
“Seulgi doesn’t look pleased. She didn’t expect us to perform, did she?” I whispered into Taeyong’s ear, hugging him closer. “Also, it can’t be our song. We have to change it; the sooner, the better,” I complained, but Taeyong just chuckled into my ear, humming softly.
Instead of giving me an actual answer, Taeyong decided to sing it.
“I love the way you're talking to me.”

Hi, it's me again. Can I request h/c's for Spinner with an s/o who gives him a baby iguana as an anniversary gift or something and bursts in the house like "SHUICHI YOURE GONNA BE A FATHER-"
Thank you in advance and for your time
So I didn't go with a baby iguana just because i have more experience with Crested Geckos. I own one, and they're arboreal (so they can climb) like Spinner can. Yes, Iguanas can too, but its just that I've got more experience with Crested Geckos. I'll put a picture of my geckos at the bottom ^-^
Tumblr media
Best pet for spinner is hands down an arboreal species of lizard, doesn't matter which one
I feel like its always something that was in the back of his head but I don't think he'd ever get one himself
So when you show up with this tiny little gecko with things that look like eyelashes, its a little surprising to him
He'd be like a little kid getting their first reptile, just watching it move around the tank until it goes into hiding
You always joke about it being his son and honestly, with how much pride he takes in it, it might as well be
The first time he holds it will probably be a month after you got it, bc yknow, baby has to get used to its new home first
Its so soft compared to his rough scales, and he treats it like an egg
^ by that i mean he will literally cradle it
The first time it wraps its tail around his finger, he's in love
He spends hours researching the species the first time he sees it. Everything from what it eats to what kind of morph it is (like the design)
With crested geckos specifically, I think he'd like the "crest" or what I described as the eyelashes (even though it runs down their backs too). It just makes them stand out a little more
He sits on the floor with it because baby Cresties jump quite a bit
He tries to get it to chirp without bothering too much, but it never works
He offers to pay for the tanks and whatever you put in the new one once it gets bigger
Whenever he's on a mission, he checks in on you and the lizard and reminds you to feed it (if he didn't before he left) or spray it's tank
He LOVES taking it out of its tank and just watching it walk on his arm, scaling him like it would a tree
His wallpaper on his phone and computer is you holding the gecko
^ gotta have his two favorite beings everywhere
He probably shows it around the hideout like it'll be anywhere except your shared room and its tank very often
^ probably not because Shigaraki and Dabi, I feel like Toga would be gentle with it once she realizes its his son pet
Yknow how some people have those stickers like "proud mother of a german shepherd"? He has a whole pile of those and he puts them everywhere
His whole photo gallery is just you with the gecko and you can't change my mind
^ yes its excessive but hey, a simp's gonna simp
He'll let you name it but he has a photo album titled "Spinner Jr." but he still calls it whatever you named it
^ he let you name it only because you bought it for him
He talks to it just as much as he talks to you so it can get used to his voice (yes, that's a thing)
Literally wants to cry when it stays still in his hands because he thinks it trusts him

So the brown one is my crested gecko, I named him Caspian. His crest isn't as visible as it usually is in that picture, but you can always find better pictures of it online. The other one is Henry, and she (yes I said she bc my brother named her before we found out she's a girl) and she's, if I had to guess, 5 or 6 years old. I got Caspian somewhere in March I'm pretty sure

summary: literally just birth + harry
dad!tom x reader
warnings: childbirth, mentions of fainting, squint for suggestiveness too
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
“Your doing so good darling, just keep breathin’ like that for me, in-out-in-out”
That had pretty much been the soundtrack to your last 3 hours. And yes it was MORE annoying than it sounds. Of course, that’s also ignoring the insane amount of pain your uterus was putting you through - as it spasmed while the little bug in there was wriggling away. Giving birth was not easy but giving birth with a husband-turned-midwife wittering away in your ear? Un-fucking-bearable.
“Tom…. I love you but..” Everything had really been starting to ramp up in the last half an hour, you were a panting sweaty mess now. “Please… SHUT THE FUCK UP” Tom would’ve recoiled completely away from the bed because of your tone, if it wasn’t for the absolute death grip you had his right hand in. Instead,  Tom settled for straightening straight up and staring helplessly and dejectedly across the room at his brother - who of course was trying to hold back laughter, knowing it would be very easy for you to switch your target to him.
Clearly it wasn’t a social call to the hospital, Harry was here under the premise of taking photos when the baby arrives for Tom;  but really to stop his brother from having his own breakdown - as commissioned by you. Lets just say, however scared and mortified Harry was of this ‘event’ he was taking a lot of enjoyment from how his brother was acting currently.
“It’s okay sir, if you were pushing a watermelon out of hole that normally was the size of a whiteboard marker, I’m sure you’d be a bit tetchy too.” That lady was your favourite midwife and in a lull between the sets of contractions, you actually managed a laugh. Wide-eyed, Tom just nodded jerkily, murmuring some sort of agreement. It was at this point a flash of light reverberated around the whole room, causing you to breathlessly laugh, Harry’s face informing you the picture he just got of Tom was priceless.
The laughter didn’t last long though, the next contraction had you bearing down on the bed, face contorted in pain as you sucked desperately on the gas and air tube.
“Okay Y/n I think we might be getting there, let me call the senior midwifes in okay?” The midwife had your legs hiked apart, a blanket attempting to cover your modesty - but at this point she was basically sticking her face in your noon. Modesty was out the window.
“Already?” Tom was shocked to say the least, from all his reading and research he’d learnt that the average labour time was more like 5 hours. Lets just say, Tom never exceled in school, never much enjoyed reading - which made the hours of highlighting baby books and pregnancy leaflets all the more extraordinary.
“Babies don’t stick to the script sir.” You could tell she was proud of the pun there, because you know, Tom’s a moviestar. “Professional improvisers, the lot of them.”
The cream walls of the hospital room very quickly filled with more and more people - Harry staying like a fly on the wall, now nervously biting his nails as he watched an obscene amount of medical people all take their turn oggling his sister-in-law’s bits. This was a weird ass situation.
Almost immediately it was at the point the midwifes were telling you to push, which after 9 months of holding a baby in (as well as your ill functioning bladder) sounded like an absolute dream. But it was also absolutely terrifying and exciting and horrifying all wrapped in one. Naturally then, after nodding hesitantly at the midwife between your legs, you’d craned your neck across to tom .You might’ve just told him off, for trying to encourage you, but now? You needed his encouragement.
What met you though, was his face completely drained of colour, mouth hanging slightly open as he hadn’t moved - still staring intently at the midwife. She followed your gaze, only taking half a second to survey the situation before knowingly smiling.
“Can we get a bit of help for dad please?” Immediately one of the more junior looking midwives was directing (pushing) Tom into the chair next to the floor. Suddenly actually concerned, you looked with wide eyes to the lady between your legs, who you felt bad for not remembering her name. With a comforting squeeze of your ankle she reassured you he’d be right as rain after a few moments of having his head between his knees. Also sensing you needed your support, she arched up, beckoning over to Harry who had an equally bemused look on his face.
“No - I-um I’m not.” His squeaking protests were interrupted by a large scream on your part, as another contraction tore through your body. Helplessly Harry glanced between Tom, who was still hunched over on a chair with a nurse squatted infront of him; and you, writhing around on the mechanical bed. He didn’t hesitate then, in jumping right to your side, allowing you to start crushing all the bones in his hand too.
And then it was all happening, a blur of activity and screams. It didnt take long for Tom to pull himself together and then you were flanked on both sides by Holland boys - both giving cheesy encouraging words (which you would’ve again told them to shut the fuck up for, if you’d been able to), Tom also stroking the top of your head. He found it pretty impossible, watching the woman that he loved go through such immense pain - especially when he was technically half the cause. Well… actually more that that, it had been him who had been… well shall we say *needy* those nine months ago.
“Okay Y/n the heads crowning, I know you’re tired but we need a few more big pushes, can you do that for me?”
Merely 5 minutes later and the most beautiful sound in the world echoed through the 4 creams walls. You were absolutely spent, eyes closed as you panted, knowing tears were flooding down your face too. Immediately though, familiar hands cupped both sides of your face, a forehead resting on yours.
“You did it Y/n/n.” His eyes were glassy, watering and red and the way he scoffed a smile in disbelief had you mirroring him exactly.
“We did it.” Your voice was hoarse and scratchy from all the yells of pain but it didnt matter. The midwife calling you by the name ‘mum and dad’ got both of your attention, a title you’d no doubt start getting used to.
“Meet your beautiful baby girl.” Another choked sob escaped your throat, as  this little roughly wrapped up pink alien looking thing was placed onto your chest. Both you and Tom just gazed at her, completely transfixed at the way she wriggled her head slightly, nuzzling into your chest. Tom gently hovered his palm against her little head, while you pressed down the blanket gently, just so you could see all her features.
Then a flash echoed around the otherwise silent room, making you all look up to Harry who was gritting his teeth in apology. “Do mum and dad want to smile for the camera?” The question was posed so hesitantly and quietly, really it wasn’t funny either. That didn’t stop you and Tom both pulling out the biggest grins and chuckling away, allowing Harry to capture the perfect moment. Being referred to as mum and dad - it was bloody comical.
“You gonna tell me her name now?”  You looked from Harry to Tom, nodding in approval for him to spill the beans.
“Amber. She’s Amber.”
You’d squabbled for months before ending on Amber. It had been a long relentless process, Tom claiming that your baby might just have ended up as ‘as yet untitled’ which you and your hormonal state had stormed out at. It hadn’t taken much to forgive it though, Tom had long since worked out that Ben and Jerrys was the way to your heart.
The nurses took Amber back to do some tests, properly cleaning both you and her up and after that everything was weirdly calm. Harry had left to give the twothree of you a moment alone and Tom was about to do his turn of skin to skin.
“This really is it isn’t it?” He murmured, whilst carefully scooping Amber from your arms.
“Mhmmm… your stuck with two girls who’ll go psycho on you without a moments notice.” He seemed to accept it though, just nodding in response.
“And I still can’t bloody wait.” His eyes penetrating deep into you, had you blushing like a nervous teenage girl. “ ‘m still so proud of you, you grew this little human.”
“Your not allowed to call her little because you didnt have the ‘little’ thing rip your insides apart.”
“Hey! I’m upset about it too! Was like I had to watch my favourite pub being burnt down.” Of course, trust Tom to make a dirty joke at a time like this.
“Don’t kid yourself, you weren’t watching, too busy fainting.”
“I didn’t actually faint!” This time he protested a bit too loudly, causing Amber to mewl a little and bury her head into the crook of her Dads arm. “I think Ambers just told you to shut it too.”
“You annoy the hell out of…” Your grumbling was interrupted by an impressive, ear-splitting yawn. “ You annoy the hell out of me.”
“But you love me?” He sing-songed, now back to a hushed tone.
“I hope so, otherwise we’re in a bit of trouble.” He scoffed, but nodded his head, taking the hand that wasn’t cradling Amber to tuck some sweaty, knotted strands of hair behind your ear.
“I do owe Harry though, he was at least able to stay on his feet.”
“He was a better birthing partner than you too, much much less condescending and annoying.” You sniggered, making Tom pout once again, only wiping the look off his face when you yawned again, rubbing an your eye like a toddler would.
“If your done insulting me… get some rest love, I got you.” All you did was nod, with a small groan (because below your waist still hurt like a bitch) rolled over so you could fall asleep to sight of the two of them.
“Got you both, my two beautiful girls.”
hope you enjoyed, would love to hear any thoughts <3

i could not choose between 77-80 so i overbearingly ask u to use each of them with spencer reid if u wish 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
80. “Your comfort and happiness is more important to me than some stupid dinner.” + 77- “If you want to leave, we can leave.”
send a prompt + character from this list!
pairing - spencer reid x gn!reader
warnings - stress?? mostly fluff
a/n - tysm kenna for requesting this i love you and i loved writing this. i also went overboard on this one bye! ive also never posted something this long in an ask reply before so if this looks weird BYE!
Your car had long gone cold, but you still couldn’t find the energy to pull yourself out yet. It was futile to try and wrestle your emotions into a tightly sealed box; as soon as you crossed the threshold of the town-home you shared with Spencer, you knew he’d be able to read you like a book. Damn genius profiler skills.
Taking a quick look at the time you knew you had to suck it up and go inside; you were pushing how ‘late’ you could be without him worrying something had happened on your commute home. With a deep sigh, you grabbed your bag from the passenger seat and exited the car; taking your sweet time with locking the car behind you and digging your house keys out of the bottom of your bag.
To put it simply, it had been a difficult year. It was the final year of your Phd. program and while- all things considered- you had had an amazing time, the past few months had been both physically and mentally draining. What was once your lifelong passion had suddenly started to feel like a chore; a chore you felt you weren’t even good at anymore. Almost every day was spent either in your own classes or teaching undergrads. Almost every night was spent on the final edits of your thesis or grading work from your students. The few moments of freedom you found were spent doing the boring parts of adult life: housekeeping, getting your car fixed, calling elderly family members, etc.
Neither of you had formerly addressed it, but you knew it was taking a toll on your relationship. Spencer being busy was a constant, but it was normally balanced out by your typical 9-5 schedule. But recently, even on the nights he was home you’d be too wrapped up in your own work to even sit down and eat dinner with him. By the time you crawled into bed he’d be long asleep and in the mornings you’d been leaving for work earlier and earlier in order to get research time in at the university library. It felt like the two of you hadn’t even been awake in the same room for weeks, let alone do anything relationship-y.
Tonight was supposed to change that. Kind of. His team was having a fancy dinner to celebrate some major milestone that you couldn’t remember. It’d been on the books for months, but kept getting pushed back by surprise cases. It felt like everyone held their breath this week, waiting for a case to pop up, but instead everyone was left pleasantly surprised when no such thing happened. It was going to be a great night: classic Rossi pasta dish, all partners and kids invited. Even though the two of you wouldn’t be alone, it’d still be a perfectly good excuse to get out, put on some nice outfits and have a fun evening with friends.
Spencer had been particularly excited. The past week, you felt as if it was the only thing he ever talked about. Not that the two of you were having extensive conversations. He kept talking about how great it would be to get out of the house and how much he was looking forward to having a totally work free evening. His excitement warmed your heart.
Which is why you were taking so long to find your keys. Today had been one of the hardest day you’d experienced in a long time. The thesis meeting you had with your advisor- that you’d been staying up late every night editing for- had gone horribly; it was as if everything you prepared was wrong. Almost every student in the class you taught scored poorly on the latest assessment- on a unit you considered yourself an expert on-, something you viewed as a failure of your ability to convey the info. And to top it all off, even though you felt as if you’d spent hours upon hours working yourself to the bone the past week- in order to clear space for tonight-, you still felt as if you had piles of work to catch up on.
You knew the stress and tension of the day would read clear on your body as soon as Spencer got a look at you. And with how excited he’d been, you absolutely didn’t want to ruin the dinner. You’d hate for him to feel as if you were being selfish or that you couldn’t even prioritize him in your schedule.
You took one last deep breath, before going to put the key into the doorknob. Just as you touched the handle, the door swung open from the other side.
“Jesus!” You exclaimed, one hand clutching your chest as you nearly jumped out of your skin. In front of you was Spencer, smiling down at you with that irresistible grin of his.
“Did I scare you? Sorry. I thought I heard you car pull up earlier and when you didn’t come in I thought maybe something was wrong so I wanted to come check-”
You quickly cut him off- even though you did find his worrying a bit endearing- by pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
“A good song came on just as I pulled in, couldn’t just get out.” You lied, adding a small laugh for effect. It was an on brand situation for you, something certainly believable. If Spencer had any doubts, he didn’t question you, simply moved out of the doorframe so you could step in.
Inside the house, you set your bag down by the front door like you always did. While kicking your shoes off, you pulled your jacket off, smiling when Spencer had his hands already open to hang it on the rack. You knew he had that ridiculous memory- and you had a pretty set routine-, but it still made your heart swell every time he anticipated your next move and went the extra mile to be helpful.
“So, how was your day?" Spencer asked, as the two of you made your way to the kitchen area. “What’d Professor Addams have to say in your meeting?”
You clenched at the handle of the fridge, grinding your teeth before pulling the door open. When you turned to look at Spencer, you saw he made himself comfortable on one of the countertop stools.
“Went well. They gave me some uh, um, some comprehensive revisions.” You said flatly, turning back to face the fridge; missing the skeptical look Spencer was throwing you.
“That’s good?” He said slowly, before adding, “well how was class? You just wrapped up the last unit didn’t you?” You both knew he knew the answer, but was just attempting to further the conversation. Had it been any other day you would’ve found it endearing, but today just wasn’t that day.
You slammed the fridge door shut, just hard enough to be cause for concern. “I thought tonight was absolutely no shop talk. Huh? Why don’t we just start that rule now.” You said, a slight edge to your voice. It’s not his fault, it’s not his fault.
“Are you okay-”
“Yes! I just don’t-”
“If there’s something wrong, you know you can tell-”
“There’s nothing wrong-”
“Do you need to stay-”
“Stop!” You exclaimed, bringing an end to the constant cutting each other off. “Everything is fine. Okay?” You said, unable to maintain eye contact.
Spencer slowly nodded, though you could tell he didn’t believe an ounce of what you had just said. Luckily for you, he seemed to let it go, falling back in his seat.
“I’m gonna go shower and get ready and then we can leave, alright?” You asked rhetorically. When he just nodded again, you very quickly walked up to him and pressed another quick kiss to his lips. “Love you.”
“Love you too.”
---
The ride to Rossi’s was silent, something that normally wouldn’t have bothered either of you had it not been for the borderline argument you had in the kitchen. As you pulled up a few cars down from the house, you caught Spencer staring at you from the passenger seat, a slightly concerned look on his face.
“Stop doing that.” You huffed out, but there was no real bite in your voice.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked gently, reaching out to push a piece of your hair away from your face. God that was sweet.
You quickly nodded and threw a very forced smile his way, not quite meeting his eyes. “I’m fine. I promise, come on.” You said, killing the engine and pushing open your car door.
Before you could fully open the door, Spencer’s arm shot out across your body and pulled the door back shut with a bang.
“Spencer!” You yelped, startled by his sudden movement. You turned and gave him a bewildered look.
“You always look over my head when you lie.” Spencer stated.
“Oh I do not-” You started, but letting the sentence fall flat as soon as you realized you currently were looking over his head.
“Your favorite song came on the radio, twice, on the drive here and you didn’t react at all either times.” He said. When you still didn’t say anything he continued. “What’s going on? You know you can tell me.”
The look he was giving you was making you feel all sorts of guilty. Of course he cared, that’s why you loved him so much. You just didn’t want to ruin something that’d been in the works for so long, all because you had a bad day.
“Spencer,” you started, giving him a very pointed look and making sure to hold eye contact, “I’m fine. Can we just go in?”
Spencer shook his head, externally searching your face for more clues while also internally thinking back to any clues from your kitchen fight. “We aren’t going anywhere, until you talk to me.” He urged.
It probably wasn’t the best move on his part, seeing as you both were incredibly stubborn. The two of you were unrelenting, both staring blankly at the other; hoping the other one would break first. After nearly 5 minutes of silence, it became very clear that neither of you were standing down anytime soon.
Spencer reached his hand out again, gently cupping your cheek; internally you cursed your body’s natural reaction to lean into his touch. “What’s going on?” He asked, voice much softer than earlier.
You were internally screaming over how caring he was. Damn him! You cursed yourself for not being able to just play the role of perfect partner for one night.
“I’m exhausted.” You said, voice quiet. “My meeting went horrible day. I absolutely failed at teaching my students the last unit. I’ve been bringing so much work back to the house I haven’t even been able to give you a second of attention. And now we have this dinner that you’ve been looking forward to for months and I don’t want to ruin-”
This time, it was Spencer that quickly cut off your rambles with a kiss.
“Do you want to leave?” He asked, as if it were the most simple thing ever
You gave him a shocked look. “Spencer, you’ve been talking about this dinner for weeks. I, I can’t ask you to put this off, you and the team rarely get time to-”
“If you want to leave, we can leave.” He said. His voice was so sincere it made the whole thing that much more difficult. He was too good.
“Spencer, no.” You said, putting special emphasis on the ‘no’. “We haven’t even walked in the door, there’s nothing to leave yet. I’m not going to ruin the dinner we’ve all been planning on for months. I’ll be fine for a couple hours.”
He didn’t answer, instead pulled his phone out and quickly started to type out a text.
“What are you doing?”
“Texting Rossi, I’m gonna tell him you aren’t feeling well and we can’t come anymore.”
“We’re outside his house! It’s not a big deal-!
“Your comfort and happiness is more important to me than some stupid dinner!” Spencer cut you off, giving you a very pointed look. You weren’t sure your heart could take the swelling much longer.
“Spencer, you’ve been planning-”
“I don’t want to hear it-”
“You’ve wanted to get out of the house for so long!” You stressed, giving him a ‘duh’ look.
“We can go do something else!” He replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Just us, no pressure to be ‘on’ in front of anyone else.” That did sound good- No!
“I’m not gonna be the one who keeps their boyfriend away from his friends-”
“I see them every day. Every day. One dinner means nothing.” Spencer said confidently, clasping your hand tightly between his.
You contemplated for what seemed like hours; though it couldn’t have been more than twenty seconds. “Are you sure?”
“I’ve never been more sure of something in my life.” Spencer said, giving you a very mock serious look; you couldn’t help but laugh at that. “There you are.” He said, smiling to match yours.
You turned the car on, clicking your seatbelt back into place. “So, where to pretty boy?” You asked.
“Well, I heard of this new ice cream place that just opened up. Their ‘claim to fame’ is they make over 50 flavors in store every single day. Did you know on average it takes nearly three hours from start to finish to make a single batch of ice cream? Or that when ice cream-”
You shook your head in amusement, chancing a couple glances in his direction as you were driving. You loved his excited ramblings and animated hand motions as he further explained the history of ice cream; as well as all the random facts about the place he was directing you to. As you got closer to your new destination, all you could think about was how lucky you were to, to be loved by someone who always knew just what to say.

49. 5 times harry was a pain in the a** until he wasn't
Prompt used- holding onto others shoulder for support |
Harry and Draco still hated each other, only this time they gave titles or did they really.. ? | ENEMIES to FRIENDS to LOVERS TROPE | SEXUAL TENSION |
The first time draco gave harry the title of being a pain in the ass was when they had lost the quidditch match out of dispute Between the match. And it happened so because they both caught the snitch and wasn't ready to let go. They remained there fighting for an hour until professor McGonagall had to practically drag them by their ears into her office
" explain " professor McGonagall sighed as she pushed her glasses over the bridge of her nose
And they began babbling like idiot, swearing at each other and going on and on about who caught it first.
" o-okay- mr. Potter- mr. Mal- okay shut up you two. I didn't bring you both here to listen to you babbling like a bumbling band of baboons " professor McGonagall sighed. It was hard to believe Harry had held back his laugh
" you're both 18 years old, mature enough to put away your rivalry, but instead you both fight like mind numbing idiots about who caught it first. I've never met any of the two people who so desirably cannot tolerate each other for even a single minute. What is the matter with you two? I thought you had signed up solidarity? Mr. Malfoy is one thing but harry you, I didn't expect this from you " draco looked thoroughly offended as professor McGonagall sighed.
" i promise you this is the last time I see the two of you creating dispute and therefore to solve this, as captains of the teams, you will be in the field, looking for the snitch for as Long as it takes for you two to apologise to each other and settle this and learn how to play together "
" but prof-"
" not a word, mr. Potter. I said what I said. Now take your brooms and settle this or I will have you both banished from the team " she sternly said.
Draco and harry rolled their eyes at each other, mimicking their lip syncs and stomping towards the field.
They remained for almost one hour, still yelling at each other and pushing away, arousing another dispute until darkness invaded and it was becoming harder to see, harry suggested the Wildest idea
" Oi malfoy !" Harry yelled catching draco's attention
" what ?" Draco snapped
" stop being fucking dramatic, listen to me -"
" I won't-"
" shut up. It's getting late and I need an out just as much as you "
" I'm listening " draco raised an eyebrow
" one of us should fake an injury, that way we won't have to stay here the entire time and we can just pretend around professor McGonagall . What do you say ?" He suggested, stumbling Little in the air
Draco thought for a moment, before he sighed " for someone so dumb, that's a clever idea "
" who's faking the injury?"
Harry smiled viciously
__________________________
" your a fucking pain in the ass " draco sneered as he hopped on one leg, his arms around Harry's shoulder for fake support
" that's what you get for calling me dumb sweetheart " harry smugly smiled
" never call me sweetheart or I'll chop you off in pieces " draco snapped lightly
" okay, sweetheart " harry smirked as they reached the hospital wing and before draco Could've said anything else, harry had started talking to madam pomfrey and then basically ran away.
" what an ass " draco mumbled to himself, laying on the bed thinking about harry.
__________________________
The second time draco honorably gave him the title was when they were working on a project on muggle sports for muggle studies.
" if you know it so well, why don't you just do it " draco Snapped
" because I don't want to. not like this anyway. I've only got the material, you can write it " harry shrugged leaning back against the common room chair comfortably
" the information you basically stole from the library. That's not even called researching " draco threw a fit
" okay Smarty pants, calm down. How else do you even suggest us to do this? Want me to watch a muggle tv show or something or what? This is the best I can do " harry frowned
Draco rolled his eyes, groaning to himself " I want you to share your thoughts on this potter, not just copy down Ron's work which by the way is abysmal "
" hey, we worked together on that-"
" save it. I'll do it on my own, while you can sit there and just- b- just bloody enjoy your whatever it is that you're drinking " draco irritatably replied as he stood up
" fine by me " harry shrugged.
Draco groaned, throwing a pencil at harry " you're a fucking pain in the ass "
" you too sweetheart " harry chuckled as he watched draco walk away.
Harry although did ended up writing up his Portion and better than draco.
" what an ass " draco mumbled to himself in class with his chin over his palm, rolling his eyes.
" I know sweetheart " harry whispered as he settled down next to draco.
Draco narrowed his eyes, throwing a fit before mumbling something to himself and looking away.
" such a darling you are " harry chuckled lightly
_____________________________
The third time draco called harry by the so title was when harry had pulled up a prank. However It wasn't meant for draco.
" what the fuck is your problem !" Draco exclaimed, drenched in slime
" fuck- holy shit " harry pressed his lips to control his uncontrollable urge to laugh " it wasn't- it was for Seamus. We just had a bet and you- you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time "
Draco rolled his eyes trying to wipe off the slime from his black suit " you ruined my fucking suit "
" well- that- I mean who wears a suit at school really. That's your fault " harry poked his bottom lip out, shrugging in innocence until he recieved the death glare from draco "nope definitely my fault "
" you're such a pain in the ass "
" you call me that often " harry grinned as though it was a compliment
" you deserve it " draco sighed, tired from all the snapping, still trying to get that thing off him.
" I'll make it up to you, alright. I mean of course you're gonna say I am ass but your suit looks expensive, what say, I treat you at hogsmeade, take you to shrieking shack and show you the wonders behind ?" Harry suggested amusingly
Draco contemplated for a moment " you better get me a nice treat and if you dare so leave me alone there-"
" you'll chop me off into pieces. I know " harry smiled lightly.
Draco however much furious was not so anymore, he discovered the whole thing to be actually quite funny but dared so not to give harry the satisfaction of laughing.
" you've got something on your shirt " draco pointed as he Walked towards harry.
" what ?" Harry looked bemused at his shirt until he felt arms wrapped around him
" oops, sorry, now you got something on your shirt " draco smirked as he broke the Taunting hug and Walked away, smiling to himself.
Harry was almost furious at draco, Only until he saw draco casting the most impressive cleaning spell over him walking. Harry was thoroughly impressed, and somewhat attracted, not that he admitted it to himself.
" what a sweetheart " harry Chuckled.

The fourth time harry recieved the title from draco was when they were working on an auror mission together and harry had accidentally petrified draco along with the criminal.
The criminal was taken by the team to azkaban while harry took draco back to the hotel, supporting him over his shoulder.
Draco had broken out of the spell only when they reached the hotel room and his first instincts were to push away harry and basically grabbing a pillow and throwing at his face.
" what In the fucking sorcery was that for ?" Harry hissed, throwing the pillow on the bed
" for casting me under the spell, you fucking moron " draco hissed
" I'm never working with you again, I swear" draco snapped
" oh stop being dramatic, you were just a collateral damage, I had to throw the spell, you just accidentally got hit because you were too close. These things happen draco"
"and what if you had thrown a curse or what if it would've backfired. Would you had taken the responsibilities for it and took care of me while the criminal would've ran away" draco angrily yelled
" draco- just calm down- it's all fine-"
" no it's not Harry. You're fucking reckless and careless and you make awful lot of mistakes unknowingly and you just assume that a sorry can fix it but somethings are not fixed by sorry and guess what you haven't even Apologized" draco Snapped as he started packing up his fastly and almost left the room until he turned around one last time at harry
" you're a fucking pain in the ass, potter" and he left to wait by the car for harry.
Guilty, harry packed away his things and picked up the watch Draco had left and sat down in the car next to draco, who hadn't calmed down even a little bit and simply ignored harry.
It wasn't until the night when harry was helping draco into his apartment that he finally spoke
" for the record draco, I would've took care of you if something had backfire, risking the criminal away because your life is more important. I'm not that idiot but I deserved it"
Draco nodded understandably " I know "
" and I'm also very sorry " harry pressed his lips in a thin line, pocketing his hands and walking away backwards to get back to the car
" oh by the way- you didn't say I'm an ass " harry wittily said
Draco shook his head, " what an ass "
" there's the sweetheart of a draco malfoy I know" harry chuckled and ran away downstairs.
" fucking dork " draco mumbled to himself smiling as he watched harry driving away from his window.
_______________________________
The fifth time draco called harry a pain in the ass at a bar when they were all hanging out with their friends, joining in a celebration and draco was dancing away with a random Stranger and he much enjoyed it until of course harry had to interrupt
" excuse me but can you please put away your dick from my boyfriend " harry possessively said.
The stranger immediately walked away in a rush before draco Could've even said a word
" what the fuck did you do ? I was having fun- and who the fuck made you my boyfriend " draco snapped, standing still watching harry standing silent
" I can't believe this. You're a fucking pain the ass harry " draco rolled his eyes, walking away until without even so of an anticipation he was whirled around and met with a pair of lips on his own, leaving him gasping.
" harry-"
" shush " Harry mumbled against his lips and draco finally gave in, pushing his hands into Harry's hair, tugging at the roots erupting a low moan from harry, inappropriately sloppily kissing harry, pulling their bodies closer if possible and definitely ruining their so called friendship.
_____________________________
" how did it happen ?" Ron asked as he slurped his lemonade draco made him
" well you know- he's just a pain in the ass " draco shyly said
" I thought I was last night, wasn't I " harry whispered smirking as he put his arms Around draco's waist from the side and pulling him closer, kissing his neck.
" fuck you" draco Blushed as he bit on his straw
" sweetheart, we only did it last night " harry Chuckled as he kissed behind Draco's ear
Draco's eyes widened, his cheeks attaining a much deeper tone of red
" get a room for fucks sake " Ron groaned as he walked away, mimicking puking.
" we had until you came in " harry yelled back
" harry " Draco whined as he slapped Harry's chest Playfully, shyly laughing.
Harry laughed away until he got kissed by draco, sloppily, leaving him gasping in shock.
" what ? You thought you're the only one with a dirty Mouth " draco raised an eyebrow suggestively
" fuck me " Harry melted away as he kissed draco again.
Well, this was fun...

Yeonjun was following you around the house like a lost puppy as you were running around like a crazy person, gathering stuff you needed while you were half-dressed and half ready to leave the house.
“Baby, slow down,” he says as he zipped up your dress from the back while you were putting on your heels.
“No, we’re gonna be late for our best friends' wedding. Ugh, I knew we shouldn’t have showered together, that always ends with dickstractions.”
Yeonjun stopped in his tracks, unable to suppress his laughter. “Did you just say dickstrations?”
You turn around on your heels, a little startled at how close he was. You hadn’t looked at him since he changed into his suit and suddenly you feel your mouth grow dry at the sight.
He noticed how you were gawking at him and grinned, holding you by your waist. “Like what you see?” he asks all seductively, running his hands through his roughly slicked-back black locks. He looked ravishing, even better than the runway models of his own fashion shows.
You nod, biting your lip as he inches closer for a kiss, but you stop him as realization hits you. “Babe no, my make-up.”
He rolled his eyes, letting go of you so you could finish getting ready, and sat down on your king-sized bed, watching you put on the diamond choker necklace he got you for Christmas last year.
“I can’t believe they’re getting married,” he mumbles as he stares into distance.
“That’s usually what happens when you get engaged, babe.”
Your tone was a little bitchier than you intended, but after 5 years of being together while all of your friends were getting married left and right, you had no idea why you hadn’t been proposed to yet.
The thing is, between Yeonjun starting his own luxury fashion brand and your demanding job at a scientific research facility, you haven’t had the time to even think about having a wedding of your own, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want one.
Yeonjun looked at you a little puzzled and just as he was going to open his mouth to speak, his phone started to ring.
You looked at him through the mirror as you put your diamond earrings on and by the frown that had taken over his features you knew it had to be work.
He picked up with a sigh. “I thought I told you not to call me today unless it was an emergency, so this better be good.”
Yeonjun as a businessman was a full 360 from who he was at home or with his friends. It’s not like he was an asshole but…the reason why his brand got to showcase its creations next to majors like Balenciaga and Céline so quickly wasn’t because of his soft side.
You make eye contact and you raise your brow in question, but he just silently mouthed that it was work as he opened your bedroom door.
He walked out, not wanting you to hear him rant to his employees about some fuck up on their side.
You quietly put your lipstick in your clutch as you hear him close his office door behind him. Well shit. It must be bad if he doesn't want you to hear.
You hoped that whatever it was wouldn’t spoil the mood.
Tumblr media
You fix a piece of Yeonjun’s hair as he’s driving and pout. He was stressed and nervous, you could tell by the way he was biting the inside of his cheek. he was Soobin’s best man, and you were Mia’s maid of honor; so, you were heading there earlier to welcome the guests and help them wherever you could.
“Are you nervous baby?” you ask as you intertwine your fingers with his.
He sighs, raising your intertwined hand to his plump lips to give the back of your hand a sweet kiss before putting both of your hands in his lap. “I have so many responsibilities tonight, I thought weddings were supposed to be fun,” he mumbles, anxiety evident in his voice.
Yeonjun is a perfectionist, so everything had to go perfect today. And given the fact that he had quite the role to uphold tonight, if anything were to be less than perfect, he’d be to blame.
At least that’s how he sees it.
After all these years Yeonjun is still hard on himself, but since it comes from a place of love for Soobin and Mia his perfectionism is even worse.
“It’ll be funnnn” you drag your words as you shake his shoulder to get him to lighten up and it seemed to work as he displayed his pearly whites to you in a boyish smile.
When you arrive at the venue, you’re in complete awe of how beautifully the place was decorated.
White flower walls and branches were set up throughout the place, they had starlight projectors, big round tables for their guests and the stage was beautifully decorated with polaroid pictures of them and their loved ones.
It was breathtaking and absolutely adorable. From the details of the engraved silverware to all the guests' names on their respective champagne glasses, they literally thought of everything.
You excitedly look around as you hold on to Yeonjun's arm as you drag him around the empty venue. “Oh my god, and this! They’re polaroids from our college days look!” you point at one of the pictures on the flower wall in front of you and Yeonjun leans forward to look at the group picture of the boys, Mia and yourself.
“This was at my welcome home party, look. I’m knocked out on your lap.” You giggle excitedly and start looking at the other pictures with childlike enthusiasm and suddenly Yeonjun finds himself simping over how cute you are right now.
He looked around him and noticed how a few staff members were fixing some flower arrangements or plates without minding the two of you, which gave him the perfect reason to be clingy.
“You look so beautiful,” he says as he snakes his arms around your waist from behind, leaning his head on your shoulder.
You’re surprised by his sudden display of affection and try to turn around but he holds you in place as he softly kisses your neck.
“Yeonjun, stop. I swear if you leave a hickey, I’ll kill you. Both of our parents are coming.”
He smiles against your skin. “We’re adults.”
“No, I’m the adult, you’re a man child” you argue with a smile and he let out an amused chuckle, reluctantly letting go of you.
“Fine. Just wait till we get home.” He threatens as he casually smacks your ass.
Your moment was interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat and when you turn around you are met with Soobin’s tall and handsome form.
He was wearing the white suit Yeonjun designed for him, his hair was slicked back and he had the prettiest smile on his face as he laid eyes on both of you.
“Soobin!” you yell as you launch forward to hug him. He stumbled a step back and chuckled as you hold him at an arm's length. “Wow, you clean up nicely. You look great! So handsome.” You compliment him with a wink and he smiles at you all giddily. “Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself.”
“Ok, enough doting on each other,” Yeonjun says rolling his eyes as he pulls you back so you’d stand next to him again. The action made both Soobin and yourself burst out into laughter.
“What are you jealous of, I’m literally getting married.’ Soobin boasts all confidently as he wraps an arm around Yeonjun. “I’m jealous that no one’s complimenting me.” Yeonjun pouts and your eyes nearly roll out of your skull as you hear Soobin trying to heal Yeonjun’s ego with compliments.
Tumblr media
You softly knock on the door before you peek your head through and make eye contact with Mia through the full body mirror she was facing. Her parents were next to her as well as her brother and her make-up artist.
You both look at each other with shocked facial expressions and when you lock eyes with her, you immediately start to tear up.
She looked beautiful. The strapless lace mermaid gown she was wearing was absolutely show-stopping. Her hair was down, long and wavy, and her make-up was also flawless. You had never seen her like this, and suddenly it hit you that two of your best friends were getting married to each other.
“Mia…” your voice was almost inaudible and when she turned around to see the tears in your eyes, she started to choke up as well.
“Shit, no. Don’t make me cry, my face will melt,” she says as she starts waving her hands to fan herself and the two of you start to giggle as you move closer to embrace her carefully without ruining her attire.
You greet her family before they left to give you a moment alone and turn to her again once they left.
“How does Soobin look?” she asks all excitedly. They hadn’t seen each other today and looking at Mia you were sure that Soobin would start crying once he saw her. “Almost as pretty as you do,” you joke as you walk to the small window of her dressing room that had a view of the main entrance.
“Are you nervous?”
The place was already getting packed with friends and family, and you spotted the table you’d be seated at, seeing that the boys and their partners were already there.
“Nah, well maybe a little. I’m sure the nerves will go away once I look in his eyes.”
You pout at her cute statement and look at the clock. “Half an hour till showtime.”
“Oh, shit. Well, I have to get going. I’m taking some pictures with my family before the ceremony, I’ll see you in a bit!”
You nod at her with a smile as she rushes out of her dressing room and make your way down the stairs. You were scanning the halls for Yeonjun but couldn’t find him or the boys when you swore you just saw them.
Your parents would arrive any minute now too, so your mind was in overdrive trying to find any familiar face at this point. You decide to just make your way to your table but halfway there you felt a slight tug on your wrist.
“Y/n? Is that you?”
You turn around a little bewildered because you were so focused on finding either Yeonjun, your friends, or your parents but when you see the man in front of you, you almost want to disappear.
It’s your fucking ex-boyfriend. Of course, he’d be here, he’s Soobin’s cousin.
You try not to look too startled but when he goes in for the hug you can’t hide your shock at seeing him again after all this time. “Minjae?”
“The one and only.”
Ew. He’s still smug. What did you even see in him?
You look around quickly to find an excuse to leave but everyone was still missing from your assigned table.
“Can I just say, you look gorgeous. Red is your color,” he states while biting his lip as he looks you up and down. The action made you awkwardly scratch your neck in response. “Uhm, thanks.”
“Why are you alone?” he asks as he bit his lip, unapologetically looking you up and down.
“Oh, I can’t find my boyfriend, I think he went to prepare something with his friends.” You made sure to mention that you were seeing someone and that that particular someone was here with you right now, but Minjae didn’t seem to be fazed by the information
Your relationship ended on bad terms since he cheated and you. You left for college right after your breakup so you never really got closure, of course, you had to run into him here. Just your fucking luck.
“Hmm, is he in his right mind leaving a pretty girl like you all by herself out here?” he asks with a smirk while you try your best not to gag.
If you could tell him off, you would. But the last thing you wanted was to cause a scene at your best friends’ wedding.
“Uhm, I think I’m gonna go find him.” You try to escape but Minjae follows your figure and stops you from walking away by standing in front of you again.
“Wow wow, not so fast sweetheart, let’s catch up.” He caresses your upper arm and you flinch at the contact, subtly avoiding his touch.
“I know we didn’t end things on great terms but I’m a changed man, I swear,” he says as he takes a step closer. He was trying to intimidate you and clearly wasn’t fazed by the fact that people were passing by the two of you left and right as it started to get busier and busier while you only got more and more uncomfortable by his presence.
“Yeah…that’s nice Minjae but I-”
“and I mean, how serious could that relationship of yours be? I don’t see a ring on your finger.”  He interrupts you, wiggling his fingers around to show that he wasn’t wearing one either.
You’re at a loss for words and just about had it. The audacity?
Soobin always hated Minjae, and now you are starting to understand why.
“Do you see the man on her arm?” Yeonjun’s voice was crystal clear.
He showed up out of nowhere, grabbing your hand to snake around his arm as he nonchalantly put his hand in his pocket while he looked Minjae dead in the eye with a stoic expression.
You cling onto him, relieved that he showed up. He checked on you quickly but when he saw the distress in your enlarged pupils his jaw clenched.
“Was he bothering you?”
Yeonjun didn’t give a shit. People were starting to look your way, including Soobin and his parents.
“I-”
“Oh, wait. You’re Choi Yeonjun, right? That designer.” Once again you are cut off by Minjae, and Yeonjun wasn’t having it, rolling his eyes as annoyance got the best of him.
“Yes. I’m surprised you know of my brand. Looking at your H&M suit I wouldn’t guess you could afford it.” Yeonjun says with a smug grin and all you can do is snort at his comment.
Minjae stiffened, not expecting Yeonjun to come for his throat like that but he tried to act nonchalantly; laughing it away.
“I-it’s Zara.” Minjae tries, but Yeonjun licked his lip as he looked down with a smirk. He pulled you into him and placed a kiss on top of your head. “Let’s get going baby. Soobin needs us to be ready.”
Yeonjun placed his hand on the small of your back to guide you to where Soobin was standing and you finally start to breathe normally again.
“Who the fuck was that?” Yeonjun asks visibly annoyed.
“Choi Minjae. I used to date him in high school,” You explain in a hushed tone as you make your way through the venue.
“Choi as in Soobin?” he asks wide-eyed
“Yes, they’re cousins.”
Yeonjun stayed quiet but you knew this would be a topic of discussion later on.
He wiped the annoyed scowl off his face as he approached Soobin and replaced it with a smile.
“What was that about?” Soobin asks as he turns to the two of you.
“Just Minjae being a dick. What else is new,” You sigh, making Soobin clench his jaw as he eyes Minjae who had by now sat down next to Soobin’s aunt and uncle at their assigned seats.
“It’s ok, Yeonjun told him off he won’t try it again. What’s a wedding without a little family drama am I right?” you try to calm Soobin’s protective side down a little, but even after all these years, nothing has changed in that aspect.
“He’s the ex that cheated on you right?” Yeonjun asked and you nod, giving him a look. “Let’s just let it go ok, the ceremony is about to start.”
Your attention is shifted to Hueningkai, who hugged Soobin from the back, making Soobin jump at the sudden attack. “Hiiii” he cooed as he rubbed his belly.
Soobin and Yeonjun start beaming at him and you watch them have their moment until he turns to you for a hug. “Hi babyface,” you tease, making Hueningkai cringe.
“Stop calling me that, I’m 25,” he complains, but he secretly loves it and before you knew it you were joined by Beomgyu and Taehyun.
It wasn’t long before the ceremony would start. Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai stood on Soobin’s side of the altar, and you stood on Mia’s side with Ryujin and some of Mia’s childhood friends and cousins.
As both yourself and Yeonjun were appointed as maid of honor and best man, you stood in the front. Yeonjun stood with his head held high, eyeing you and giving you a mischievous wink as you made eye contact. You winked back with a smile which made him chuckle and look down to control his facial expressions.
When you look out on the crowd you make eye contact with your dad who was shaking his head with amusement at how childish the two of you were being and suddenly embarrassment flushes over you, especially when you saw that Yeonjun’s mother had the exact same expression on her face as she was seated next to your parents. A sight you could never get used to.
The music started to play, all of the guests stood up simultaneously and the large white double doors at the entrance opened to show Mia holding on to her fathers’ arm. People started to cheer including yourself and the boys, and without much time Soobin was already choking up and biting his lip to suppress tears.
Yeonjun looked at Soobin with glistening eyes, patting his shoulder to show comfort as Mia approached.
It was beautiful. All of it. From their vows to their first kiss as husband and wife, it was like a scene out of a movie. The pure happiness you felt for your friends was almost overwhelming and after congratulating the newlywed couple and dinner with soppy speeches by the boys, yourself and their parents it was finally time to party.
Tumblr media
You helped Mia change into something more comfortable in her dressing room and sighed as you looked at her. “How does it feel to be married?” you ask with a smirk, which Mia reciprocated. “Not much is different, other than the fact that I can call him my husband.”
“Must be nice, I’m in my late twenties and still call Yeonjun my boyfriend. It’s getting weird. The questions of people around me are even worse.”
“Like what?”
“Why aren’t you married, don’t you wanna settle down? Are the two of you in an open relationship, are you sure he’s not cheating on you? The list goes on.”
Mia’s face contorted from confusion to disgust. “Who the fuck says that.”
“My co-workers.” You huff. “But enough about me, I’m sorry. This is your day.” You try to laugh it off, but Mia is a literal psychologist, so she wouldn’t just let this go.
“Hmm, no. The dance floor can wait,” she says as she sat down on the couch, patting the empty spot beside her to tell you to sit down.
You try to protest but she grabs your wrist and pulls you down with her, making you look her in the eye.
“Have the two of you talked about marriage?”
“Yes and No.”
“Does he know you wanna get married?”
“Yes.”
“Ok, then…why hasn’t he asked.”
“Girl, you tell me.” You sigh. “Do you think he’s having second thoughts? With his brand and the people he’s around, they're a different caliber of gorgeous.”
“Y/n.” Mia scoffs. “Yeonjun would die without you, and you know he isn’t that shallow. He loves you more than anything. He still looks at you the way he looked at you in college. Just talk to him…”
“And say what? Hey dude, why haven’t you proposed to me yet?”
“…yeah.” She shrugged, not getting why you wouldn’t just talk to him about it but you honestly didn’t know how to bring up the conversation. If you both talked about it and he proposed somewhere in the future, it’d mean that he did it because you wanted him to and not because he wanted to.
“I can’t do that; my pride is in the way.” You explain giving her the short answer to your thoughts.
“I can talk to him.”
“No Mia, please. No.”
“Ah, come on. I won’t make it obvious; you know me.”
Tumblr media
Mia plopped herself down on the seat next to Yeonjun.
“So, when are you two getting married?” she says without a filter, making you choke on your drink. You had fire spewing from your pupils as you look at her, mouthing a ‘bitch what the fuck’ to her which she just shrugged off, turning her attention to Yeonjun.
“Uhm…” Yeonjun chugged his champagne in one shot and bit the inside of his cheek.
Shit.. he only does that when he’s nervous about something.
“I mean, we haven’t really had the time. Our jobs are too demanding right now.” He explains with a soft smile, hoping that Mia would leave him alone about it, but he knew better.
You awkwardly shift in your seat and wanted to avert the conversation, but the other boys were already busting it down on the dance floor with Soobin, meaning the three of you were alone.
Yeonjun looked at you and noticed that you weren’t looking at him or Mia and sighed.
“I don’t know, the whole concept of marriage is kinda outdated right? I mean no offense of course. You just got married.” He gave Mia one of his hypnotizing smiles but if you heard that right then that was the confirmation you needed. He got up, kissing the top of your head. “You coming to dance with me?” he asked innocently but you just shook your head.
He isn’t planning on proposing to you. Not now, not ever.
“I’m sitting this one out.”
Yeonjun nodded understandably and walked towards his friends, making a dumbfounded Mia look at you with concern.
“….He…thinks it’s lame?” Mia says confused as ever.
“I don’t know Mia, I’ll just let it go for now.”
“No, listen to me y/n. If this is what you want for your future, then you have to let him know. Otherwise, he’ll never get it. You don’t want to have to explain to your kids why daddy never married mommy.”
You sigh loudly, slouching in your seat while rubbing your forehead. “Wait,” Mia says. “He does want to have kids, right?”
“Yes, he does.”
“Ok…at least you have that in common.” She tries to joke to lighten the mood but you glared at her.
“Mia…”
“Ah, I’m sorry. I know it’s not funny.” She shrugged, holding out her hand. “Wanna go dance?”
“No, I’m gonna look for my parents and Yeonjun’s mom.” You say looking around to find them.
Mia pouted at your rejection but she understood that you weren’t in the mood right now. “I expect at least one dance with my best friend, ok?” she pouted at you and you give her a weak-hearted smile.
“Ok, I promise. But later, ok?”
She nods and you both get up as you part ways.
Yeonjun kept an eye on you and frowned when Mia approached without you.
“Where is she going?” he asked as he looked at Mia. “To say hi to her parents and your mom.”
Soobin wrapped an arm around Mia’s waist and pulled her into him with a twirl. “There’s my lovely wife,” he says as he pecks her lips.
“Oh, Jesus.” Taehyun says shaking his head. “We’ve entered a new era.”
“Let them be, they just got married.” Beomgyu chuckled as he swayed to the beat with Ryujin’s arms wrapped around his neck.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of calling you, my husband.” Mia says with a laugh as she threw her head back in laughter as Soobin attacked her with kisses,  and suddenly the puzzle pieces fell into place for Yeonjun at the sight.
The realization took over his features and he was immediately alarmed.
“I’m gonna go find y/n.” he says without looking back at his friends before he storms off to find you.
“What do we do now?” Hueningkai asks in confusion.
“What was planned,” Mia says shrugging her shoulders.
Tumblr media
Yeonjun arrived at the table both of your parents were seated at, but you were nowhere to be found.
“Hey dad, have you seen y/n?” Yeonjun asks putting a hand on your father’s shoulder.
Your dad looked up at him with a smile and shrugged. “Haven’t seen her kid.”
“She went that way.” Yeonjun’s mother says pointing to the main entrance.
Yeonjun nodded and wanted to bolt off into your direction but your mother stopped him. “Everything ok?”
“Y-yeah, I just need to tell her something,” he says as he rushed off.
The three of them follow Yeonjun with their eyes in confusion while his mother lets out an exasperated sigh.
“I hope it’s not serious.” Your dad says raising an eyebrow.
“Knowing my son, it’s serious.” She states as she downs her champagne,  grabbing another one of the waiters’ tray swiftly as they passed by.
Tumblr media
Yeonjun made his way outside of the venue. The sun had set and it was chilly out; making him worry even more because if you were out here, you’d probably be freezing.
He walked around the perimeter of the venue and stopped in his tracks when he saw you sitting alone on the steps, looking out on the lake with a wine glass in your hand.
He sighed as he watched you take a sip while you were lost in deep thought and took off the blazer to his suit as he approached you.
He draped it over your shoulders, startling you in the process but when you look up at him you instantly relax.
He sat down next to you with a low groan, taking the wine glass from your hold while taking a sip.
“That’s mine.” You try to sound playful but your tone of voice sounded rather sad, making him sigh while putting the wine glass down next to him.
“Why didn’t you tell me you want to get married?” He asks as he stares into what seems like your soul. It made you feel incredibly vulnerable and small.
“What did Mia say to you?”
“Nothing. It clicked to me when you walked off and then she called Soobin her husband and it just…”
He cut himself off as you avoided eye contact and closed his mouth with a slight pout.
“Baby…tell me.”
“Nothing I say will make sense to you,” you say with a bitter smile as you stare at the fountain in the middle of the lake. Your eyes fixated on the lights that changed color and your vision got blurry.
“Try me.” He says as he put his hand on your thigh but you stiffened at his touch, which made him frown. Having had enough of your vagueness he laced his fingers through your hair and made you look at him.
His sweet demeanor had shifted to a sterner one. He wanted answers, even if you thought they wouldn’t make sense.
He cocked his eyebrow and licked his lips, waiting for you to speak.
“Yes, I do, but I…” you take a deep breath to collect your thoughts and start rambling.
“Of course I want to get married to you Yeonjun. It’s been five years. Incredible years at that, but as time passes, I want to be able to call you my husband. I’ll be 80 years old with grandchildren and a boyfriend, and call me old-fashioned but that’s not exactly how I pictured my life to be.”
He pursed his lips together as he listened to you attentively, furrowing his eyebrows a little to understand.
“Yeonjun. If I have to tell you that I want to get married, then you’d only propose to me because I basically told you to do so and I don’t want that. I don’t want you to do something because you feel like you have to. If the thought never crossed your mind, then…that says enough”
“Y/n…I’m sorry. I just never thought that-”
“It’s ok. I’ll get over it.” You say interrupting him.
“No. Baby, hear me out.”  He made you look at him again. “You have to realize that the only example of a marriage I ever had was the one my parents were in. They hated each other. Married out of a business agreement and stayed together because a piece of paper tied them together. I don’t want that for us.”
“Yeonjun, we’re nothing like your parents ever were.”
He wasn’t helping his case with that comment. You took his hand off of your cheek and reached over for your wine glass, taking a sip once you retrieved it.
Yeonjun’s eyes were darting back and forth, trying to find the right thing to say but he knew that nothing he’d say right now would make a difference.
“I’m sorry…” Yeonjun says with sadness. He looked like a lost puppy. Truly unable to grasp why you were so upset about this, and honestly you had enough of trying to explain to him why marriage was so important to you.
Your parents were the perfect example of a successful marriage, and all you wanted was something as genuine as their love.
“Can we just talk at home? I don’t want to spoil the mood for our friends. They must be wondering where we are.”
He sighed, rubbing his forehead in agony. He watched you get up and jolted upwards in lightning speed to match your tempo.
“I don’t want to go back in there like this, we need to talk about this somehow.”
“We just did Yeonjun. I want to get married, you don’t, and last time I checked I can’t marry myself so I’m just gonna have to deal with it.”
“Y/n..”
By now you had arrived at the entrance. You downed your drink and set the empty glass down on a random tray and waltzed inside of the ballroom with big strides.
“Hey bitch, catch!” Mia yells as she throws you her bouquet.
You hadn’t even noticed how the music stopped and look at her wide-eyed. What the hell was she thinking? Wasn’t the look of thunder on your face enough of a hint that you weren’t in for her jokes right now.
You look back and Yeonjun somehow disappeared from your line of sight, making you even more confused and annoyed than you already were.
“Mia, what the hell.” You furrow your eyebrows at her and notice how suddenly all eyes were on you.
People were standing in a circle and most of the tables were set aside to create the space that you were now standing in the middle of right now.
Soobin smiled at you, he wrapped his arm around Mia’s shoulder, pulling her into him as his eyes disappeared into crescent moons. He watched your eyes widen as Tae, Gyu and Kai approached you. Tae covered your eyes as Beomgyu and Hueningkai sat you down on a random chair they brought with them.
What the fuck was going on?

- Before the wedding -
“I can’t believe they’re getting married,” he mumbles as he stares into distance.
“That’s usually what happens when you get engaged, babe.”
Yeonjun looked up at you in surprise as you were looking at him through the mirror while putting on your earrings.
Are you on to him? He dumbfoundedly stared back at you, trying to find the right words to avert your attention to a different topic but then his phone started to ring.
It was Soobin.
His eyes widened. Lying wasn’t something he was good at, but he didn’t want you to catch on.
He picked up with a sigh. “I thought I told you not to call me today unless it was an emergency, so this better be good.”
He looked at you, mouthing to you that it was a work thing as he disappeared from your shared bedroom and into his home office.
He closed the door behind him, pacing back and forth.
“Sorry, y/n was in the room,” Yeonjun says with a relieved sigh.
“Is she suspecting anything?” Soobin asks a little worried.
“No, at least I don’t think so.”
“Good. We planned this for way too long for it to be ruined. Everything is set up. She won’t know what’s coming for her.”
Yeonjun smiled, retrieving the square box from his back pocket as he opened it, staring at the 12-carat diamond ring in its case.
“I hope so.”
Tumblr media
As Taehyun removed his hands from your line of sight a still image was projected on the wall in front of you.
You blink a couple of times to look around and see how Mia and Soobin were giddily smiling at you. You give the boys a look but they just laughed it off, motioning you to look at the monitor, and that’s when the video started playing.
It was a full timeline of your relationship with Yeonjun, videos and pictures of your college days, videos of yourself and Yeonjun decorating the house for Christmas, family dinners, important milestones; he documented all of it.
Deep down inside you knew what was about to happen but after everything that just went down, it was incredibly hard to believe.
You're entranced by what you were seeing, completely frozen and in shock to even move until the video cut to a clip of Soobin and yourself as kids, you guessed you were about 5 years old at the time.
Little Soobin and yourself were having a pretend wedding ceremony, making everyone in the room swoon and chuckle.
You still remembered this day clearly. You made Soobin dress up with you and play house but 5-year-old you came to the genius realization that in order to play house, you’d have to get married first.
Your eyes started to water at the sight, and then your dad who was behind the camera cleared his throat in the video.
“Soobin, are you going to marry y/n when you’re older?” he asks panning the camcorder around to show that both of your moms were present too.
“Ew dad, no.” you crossed your tiny arms over each other and gave Soobin a grossed out glare.
“No, probably not.” Soobin agreed too as he shrugged his shoulders.
“But when I do get married, I’ll make sure y/n gets married too.” He says with a small lisp, determination evident on his features as he pursed his lips together to show off his dimples.
Your parents started to laugh in the clip. “That’s not how it works Soobin.”
“Yes it is!” little you agreed with Soobin, linking arms with him as you stared straight into the camera.
“Let’s pinky promise.” You grinned at him, linking your tiny pinky with his. “Promise!”
The video stopped and you wiped a tear from your face as you give both Mia and Soobin a sentimental smile. Beomgyu helped you stand up and ran off to stand next to the others, who were by now joined by your parents and Yeonjun’s mother.
Both yours and Yeonjun’s favorite song started to play softly, and you turn around to see where it was coming from as Daniel Caesars' voice rang through the speakers.
‘Through drought and famine’
‘Natural disasters’
‘My baby has been around, for me.’
You were met with Yeonjun’s charming smile as he walked closer to you, taking your hands to lace his fingers with yours.
“What is all this…” you look at him with watery eyes,
“Aren’t you going to keep the promise you made to Soobin?”
He smiled at you as he let go of one hand, taking a tiny black velvet box of out his pocket as he got down on one knee.
You cover your mouth out of shock, tears welling up in your eyes once more as you give him a small nudge.
“You asshole.” You huff in tears, making everyone in the room laugh including Yeonjun. "And all of you were in on it?" you ask looking back at your friends who were nodding their heads in unison.
You chuckled through your tears, averting your attention back to Yeonjun who was still knelt down before you.
“You’re my home y/n.” he says with watery eyes. “Throughout everything, you are the one thing in my life that is unchanged. I know it was far from easy to love me for the past 5 years, but with all the craziness you have stood by me. With this ring, I want to show you that I’ll stand by you too…until death do us part” he states with a soft smile, and by now your mother has started to cry, including Yeonjun’s mother; the ice queen herself.
“Y/n.” he says taking a deep breathe. “Will you marry me?”
You sniff your tears away, scrunching your nose as you start to nod furiously.
“Yes.”
Yeonjun smiled up at you, quickly putting the ring on your finger before he got up and spun you around in his arms as people started to cheer, even Minjae was bitterly clapping his hands to congratulate you.
Yeonjun hugged you tightly as you buried your face in his chest, crying at the surreal and perfect moment. He giggled as a tear ran down his face too. Burying his nose in your hair as he held you as close as possible.
“I love you,” you manage to get out before you lean in to kiss him.
“I love you too.”
Tumblr media
- 1 year later -
“Oooh my god Mia, you’re about to pop.” Yeonjun says with big eyes as he opens the door for Mia and Soobin to enter your home.
Yeonjun and yourself had gotten back from your month-long honeymoon a few days back and you invited everyone over for a Sunday dinner.
“Gee thanks. It’s not like I’m 8 months pregnant or anything.” She huffs as she waddles to the living room to sit down next to Taehyun and his boyfriend of two years, who had already arrived prior to them.
Yeonjun chuckled, throwing an arm around Soobin.
“How are you holding up, father to be?” he asks as he squeezed Soobin’s shoulder
“I can’t wait till the baby comes. Her hormones have been crazy lately, she made me get cheese nuggets last night at 2 am.” Soobin says as he rubs his eyes.
“Oh, y/n makes me do that without the pregnant part.”
You emerge from your kitchen at the sound of your name. “You talkin shit Choi?”
“No, I just told Soobin how much I loved you.” Yeonjun says through his teeth with a smile and all Soobin could do was laugh at the interaction.
You roll your eyes, wiping your hands on your apron as you take it off.
“Dinner will be ready in like half an hour.” You announce as you walk into the living room.
When you lay eyes on Mia you immediately run over to her, squeezing her as you rubbed her belly. “She’s gonna be the cutest baby ever.” you pout.
“Have you thought of a name yet?” Taehyun asks as he reached over to touch Mia’s baby bump as well.
“We’re still deciding,” Mia says with a smile, and at that the doorbell rang once again.
You got up to open the door and were greeted with the smiles of a by now engaged Beomgyu and Ryujin, followed by Hueningkai and his girlfriend Won-young
The night was spent enjoying the food you made, you reminisced about your college days and talked about everything from your honeymoon to brainstorming baby names for Mia and Soobin.
Time flew by when you were all together.
The group was enjoying a drink at the bar area of your kitchen and you were pouring yourself a virgin martini in full concentration mode.
Yeonjun snakes his arms around your waist from behind and kissed your temple sweetly as he came to check on you. You leaned into his touch, the both of you stared at the group of people that you call your family, smiling contently as you look up at Yeonjun to peck his lips.
“When do we tell them?” he asks as he rubbed your tummy.
You turn around to face him, giving him a nervous smile. ‘I’m worried that Mia might give birth on the spot when she hears the news.”
Yeonjun snorted at your comment, touching your stomach once again as he stared down in wonder. “I still can’t believe it,” he comments as he's lost in thought to a month ago when you told him about it.
Yeonjun was quick to serve everyone a brownie for dessert, carefully instructing them to wait before they took a bite.
You got up to stand next to him at the edge of your dinner table and had the giddiest smile on your face.
“…Brownies?” Beomgyu asks wide-eyed.
“The last time you made these I developed PTSD.” Soobin says, reminiscing back to the night where you told everyone you had bagged an exchange to Brown University.
“So, you have news again?” Taehyun asks carefully and Yeonjun just nodded with a smile, pulling out his phone to record their reactions once they broke off a piece.
“You’re not immigrating to another country or anything this time, right?” Mia asked, making you and Yeonjun chuckle at the absurd guess.
“Come on guys, open it up.” You clapped your hands excitedly and waited for them to break off a piece with their forks.
Ryujin was the first one to catch on as she discovered the blue and pink cream filling, followed by loud gasps and screams from everyone.
‘WE’RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY IN THE FAMILY!?” Hueningkai yells with big eyes, asking for confirmation as everyone looked at the two of you with anticipation.
All you could do was smile and nod and suddenly you were bombarded with hugs, kisses, and even tears from an overwhelmed Mia.
“I-I’m s-so h-happy for you!” she sniffed through her tears as she hugged both you and Yeonjun clumsily yet tightly.
Soobin approached you next with a huge grin on his face. “Our kids are going to be just like us, like all of us” He said with watery eyes, looking at Yeonjun and the rest of the boys with proudness and love emitting from his pupils.
“Together forever.”

Chapter Two. characters: ransom drysdale x reader. warnings: none (for now), slow burn type of thing. summary: Hugh Drysdale is known for being a well known playboy; the only son of real estate mogul Linda Drysdale, the oldest grandson of famed Author and Publisher Harlan Thrombey. Not knowing what real love is, not knowing where and who to get it from until he meets someone... something that could possible change him and his life all together. But it'll take a real good woman to do so. a/n: second installment of this Ransom fic. I hope you all love it. if you see mistakes, no you didn't. this was written on my phone and not thuroughly proofread. whoopsie.
Homecoming Dance was just around the corner and I was the lucky member of staff to be a chaperone. Voluntold as they like to say. I had no choice but to agree. Not like I had anything planned for the weekend, especially Saturday night.
“Tickets will be sold at the day of the dance. And if any one has someone that would like to volunteer for the dance to be a chaperone, please contact me or the principal or even Mr. Levinson,” I said, putting my number up with the principal and Mr. Levinson number.
“Please let them call or text us before Friday, please!” I expressed, the bell ringing. Dismissing the class, I smiled at each one and waved them off.
Sighing softly, I sat down at my desk and sat back against the chair. Spinning slowly toward the board and looking at the names of those that needed to turn in late assignments.
“I’ve gotten four calls in the last hour,” Ari said, sitting at a student desk that was in front of mine. His hands gripping the front of it as he sat. He chuckled softly. “All of them women. But I did say yes to all of them,” he muttered, leaning back against the seat.
I smiled at him, shaking my head as I watched him. “Well aren’t you so lucky. It must be because they think their kids' teacher is very attractive. I haven’t gotten any!” I said, soon hearing my phone vibrate on my desk. Scared me too. “Looks like my luck is about to change!”
“Hello?” I answered, a familiar voice on the other end. “Hu- Ransom! Hi there. You’d like to…. Chaperone? Didn’t peg you for the chaperone type. For a high school homecoming dance,” I teased, I could see Ari lifting his brow.
“Yeah well, I don’t have much to do on a Saturday night,” Ransom said. He did, but he’d much rather get to know her.
“Well, I’ll put your name down. I’ll even use ‘Ransom’ as preferred name,” I said, smiling as I wrote his name down. “Great. Saturday. 5 pm. Sound good?” I confirmed and he answered ‘yes’. “See you then,” I said, hanging up.
Ari looked at me, smiling wide as he let out a soft chuckle. “Was that… you flirting?” He asked, tilting his head slightly.
“What? No. He’s cute but no. Agh, maybe. He drove up next to me when I was walking to my car. Said he wanted to make sure I got in my car safely,” I confessed, smiling softly to myself. My eyes glanced at Ari, who was just watching me thoughtfully.
“Seems he might think you’re cute too,” he said, soon standing to his feet and smiled softly. “See you Saturday,” he said, knocking his knuckle on my desk before exiting.
SATURDAY NIGHT --
The weekend had finally rolled by. Every student telling me about their dresses, suits, and other forms of attire they were planning to wear. Some even showing me pictures. I was happy my students were excited to show me, that they liked me enough to share.
Having been sent home to get dressed, I took the opportunity to look nice. After all, Ransom was going to appear. If he did. Shit. He might’ve changed his mind. Decided chaperoning was something dumb to do on a Saturday night.
‘Why are you even worried? Why do you even care? Jeez,’ I thought, shaking my head. The thoughts fleeting as I applied my mascara. Doing the final touches to the natural looking make up I decided to do.
I had dressed in the knee length red dress that had a floral pattern and the sleeves weren’t that long; cutting at the middle of my upper arms, strings tied into a not so perfect bow.
I slipped on my nude, two inch heeled sandal. The one that didn’t have the strap that wrapped around my ankle. Looking myself in the mirror, I fixed my dress. Leaving my bed room, I made it to the front door of my apartment. Unlocking the door and grabbing my small purse in the process. I walked out and made my way down the stairs, happy I only lived on the second floor.
Getting into my car, immediately locking the door, I started it up and leaned against the seat while pulling on my seatbelt.
I made to the school in time, an hour before the gym doors opened for the dance. Getting out of my car, I locked it and rounded the back of my car when I heard someone say my name. Walking up next to me, Ransom slowed. Wearing a tan overcoat, a Persian scarf, and cable knit sweat underneath with slacks for his pants. His shoes a light brown to tie in the tan jacket. I smiled at him, while his lips turned up slightly.
“Wow. You clean up very nice,” I said, smiling warmly. “Wasn’t sure if you were actually gonna show up.”
He tilted his head at me, as if I was joking.
“Only because… who really wants to spend their Saturday night… chaperoning a high school dance,” I explained further, walking with the male toward the entrance of the gym.
“Wasn't too sure, either. Dances were never my thing unless I had a hot date and we hooked up behind the bleachers on the track field,” Ransom said, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched me. His eyes scanning me.
“Well, I definitely owe you one for coming. We only have you and another guy chaperoning today. Most are women. I was voluntold to be here,” I said, chuckling softly as we approached the gym. One of the yearbook committee kids at the table with another person; assuming someone to keep her company.
They greeted me, and I smiled at them. “Hi Maxine. Hi Danny,” I said.
Ransom opened the door for me and I walked in. He was soon beside me again, as if not wanting to get lost. “Don’t worry. It’s very hard to lost in a school like this,” I teased, walking to the large group of women that surrounded the refreshment table.
“All right, I’ll be giving everyone their duties! I have about ten of you. This is great! Oh, hey!” Ari was speaking to the group, waving at me when he saw me. “About time!” He exclaimed, eyes shifting to the male beside me.
“You must be Hugh Drysdale,” Ari said, “I’m Ari Levinson. Welcome!” He continued, looking at the list on his clipboard. I could have sworn I told Ari to call Hugh Ransom.
“It’s Ransom! Don’t call me Hugh,” Ransom said, smirking softly as he eyed Ari that soon shifted his gaze toward me then back to Ransom.
“Sorry man. Ransom. Got it,” Ari confirmed, and I nudged Ransom softly. I smiled and I could see his lips slowly turning into a smile.
Calling my name, Ari said, “I want you and Ransom at the refreshment areas. Around an hour in, we’ll rotate so everyone can get a chance to dance if they’d like to. Vilma,” he continued, telling the other ladies where they’d be.
“You look really beautiful tonight,” Ransom said as we walked around the table to set up the cups of punch. I smiled, letting a small chuckle escape my lips.
“Thank you,” I said, filling the last cup that would fit on the table.
The lights soon dimmed, the DJ playing a song as kids started to flow the gymnasium. Some dancing to the fast beats of the new music, some throwbacks being played. I continued to fill cups of punch, Ransom busy at the side of me and handing out plates of food. From the stage, I saw Ari come up to the mic. “Staff and volunteers, time to switch,” he said, telling the DJ to keep up the good work.
Ransom and I moved to the side as Vilma and Jackie took over the table. We covered the exit nearest us and that’s when a random slow song began to play.
“Wanna dance?” Someone said, and I looked to my left to see a student. Hand extended. “Why it’d be an honor!” I exclaimed, taking it and glancing at Ransom. Making my way to the dance floor with Frankie, I rested my hands on his shoulders as he didn’t quite have a growth spurt just yet. His hands rested in between my hips and waist.
“Sorry kid, but imma cut in. She owes me a dance,” Ransom interjected, hand on the kids shoulder. The kid nodded, stepping to the side and that was when Ransoms moved from my hip to his arm wrapping around my waist, his free hand taking mine and letting my other hand wrap around his neck.
“Why, Hugh. Didn’t know you could dance,” I said, smiling softly as I watched his features lighten.
“Hmm. Dancing is fun when you have someone beautiful as your partner,” he said, and I had to shake my head. Eyes looking into his, hand wrapped in his, my other playing at the hairs at the nape of his neck. It was a surreal moment.
In the corner of my eye, I could see Ari in the corner of the gym. Eyes locked on me. When I made eye contact with him, he smiled and looked away to tend to a task the he saw on his clipboard.
The song soon ended, and we drilled our movements. Eyes staring into his, I licked my lips nervously as his hand moved from my frame and his hand cupped my cheek.
“I don’t know… why or how, but for some reason I couldn’t get you out of my mind,” he muttered, eyes slowly drifting to my lips.
“I know your type Ransom Drysdale. And I will not be played,” I whispered, slowly moving from his trance. “One more dance?” I asked, continuing to play with his hair. He nodded in agreement, pulling me close.
From what I research about Ransom was that he was a playboy, a womanizer. Why was he so sudden in wanting to kiss me (at least I assumed he wanted to)? To be near me? To have his mind filled with thoughts of me? It burned in the back of my head. My guard was up, and it would never come down around Ransom. Not now, anyway.

little bumps in the road (pt. 13)
Previously on LBitR...
For the first time in quite a while, things seem to be going well.
It’s not even an exaggeration--the RV lab, though a little on the rudimentary side compared to all Lena is used to--is actually very well-equipped, and after only a few days of further research and a little tinkering, Lena finally feels confident to get things going.
She’s been eager to start working on this--she’s been desperately eager for it to work just how she knows it will.
Lena announced her plan to get started only a few days ago, and ever since then, Kara has been grinning like an idiot, following Lena around the small space of the RV and listening, completely enraptured, as Lena explains what they’ll be doing and how.
“So, how are we doing this?” Kara asks when Lena finally has everything in order, excitedly rolling up her sleeves to start the first session. She flops onto the pull-down cot as Lena connects different tubes and wires to the machine.
“Well, blood comes out one arm,” Lena explains, tapping the barely visible vein on Kara’s arm with her finger, “and then goes through this incredibly high-tech, extremely advanced Kryptonite filter--” Kara snorts “--and goes back into your other arm, hopefully Kryptonite-free.”
“Awesome!” Kara exclaims, only to crinkle her brows in confusion as Lena straps her arms down. “Wait a minute, I can’t use either arm?? Lena, I’m going to die of boredom!”
Lena shoots her a look as she tightens the left strap. Kara has the grace to look slightly apologetic. “Too soon for I’m-gonna-die jokes, gotcha.”
“It will always be too soon for I’m-gonna-die jokes,” Lena mutters, thoroughly unamused. “And anyway, you’ll survive sitting still for two hours at a time,” she continues, pressing a button on a hidden panel on the RV wall. “There’s TV.”
Kara lets out an actual squeal of happiness when the monitor pops out of the wall, at the perfect angle for her to lie back and watch—Alex had the forethought of adding a hard-drive full of Disney movies so Kara would be entertained during the filtration process. She knew her sister well.
The main problem with the filtration device was that the machine itself could only run for a couple of hours at a time, meaning several sessions would be required for Kara’s blood to be well and truly Kryptonite-free. Lena assumes this is why Alex had given them this mobile lab—they couldn’t afford to stay in one place for too long. This way, Kara could lie back and let the machine do the work, and Lena do the driving, if required, though Lena herself would much rather keep things stationary when messing with needles.
They settle on a routine, more or less. The RV is mostly self-sufficient with its discreetly enhanced solar panels and a full water tank; if they’re fully gassed up, they can stay off the grid much longer than they could with the Jeep. This reduces their stays in small towns and roadside motels to the bare-minimum (meaning, whenever Lena complains enough that they absolutely need to do laundry or when they have another checkpoint call with Alex).
Lena doesn’t mind—she’s almost enjoying these secluded spots they’ve been finding along the way; so empty and desolate it is like they are practically untouched by civilization. It’s almost peaceful, with Kara snoring while she dozes watching Hercules for the fourth time (she even convinced Lena to join her on the cot one time so they could watch together) and the filtration device beeping and whirring rhythmically.
The amount of Kryptonite being collected each time is minimal—a dusting of microscopic green each time, barely enough to be seen with the naked eye. The progress is slower than Lena would like, but they’re progressing steadily enough considering their circumstances, and she tells Alex as much during their next call.
They’re all the way in Illinois, and the weather is beginning to turn. Lena holds onto her green flannel as a gust of wind chills her, seeking refuge into the cabin of the payphone.
It’s all done by rote, now—Lena’s been the one calling Alex more and more often now, giving updates to Kara’s condition, and occasionally dealing with Alex’s barely contained frustration at the crawling speeds it goes by.
Lena dials, and waits for the requisite two rings. The ‘hello, yes,’ is always said gruffly, but Lena can usually tell there’s undeniable relief in Alex’s tone.
“Twenty-one, Illinois,” Lena says. “Progressing as usual.”
“Good.”
“We’ll be at the next one by Tuesday.”
“Good.” Dial tone.
And so it goes. It becomes… comfortable, in a way, to have clear goals and tasks to accomplish. Tracking the Kryptonite collected each day, analysing Kara’s blood, checking in with Alex—all of it gives Lena something to focus on, and she takes it gladly.
Even when Kara gets a little cranky after being strapped in for too long.
“Leeeenaaa…” she will occasionally whine. “Leeeeenaaaaa.”
Lena has to hold back her sigh, and look over from her calculations—she’s trying to see how long it will take to cleanse Kara’s system, and it’s taking annoyingly long. “What is it this time?”
“I’m hungry.” Kara pouts.
Lena raises a brow, glancing at her watch—a brand new one Kara won at a bar back in Arkansas that, inexplicably, featured a claw-machine. The watch is bright yellow and has a picture of Tweedy Bird on the face—it’s atrociously hideous. “You just ate two hours ago.”
“And I’ve been here for a whole hour!” Kara points out through her pout. “It’s important to eat every three hours, don’t ya know?”
Lena can’t help rolling her eyes. “Well, can’t you wait another hour?”
Kara’s stomach, growling loud enough to be heard above the gentle humming of the machine, seems to disagree, and that’s how Lena ends up sitting on the cot, squished against Kara, hand-feeding her individual Pringles chips.
Lena eyes the can with disgust. “Pizza-flavoured? I didn’t even know this was a thing.”
Kara nods, munching happily. “It’s delicious! Try one.”
“I think I’ll pass,” Lena quips, brushing some Pringle-dust from where it’s gathering on Kara’s shirt. “You know these are not even real potatoes, right? They’re like. Potato dust.”
“Marvelously delicious potato dust.”
It’s like that, day in, day out. Lena isn’t really complaining—oddly enough, this is the most normal things have felt between them since… well, since everything, and right now she’s not too worried about looking a gift horse in the mouth.
They’re in Maine the next time they have to check-in, and all things considered, everything is going swimmingly. Lena had looked at a fresh sample of Kara’s blood just last night, and there are fewer and fewer traces of Kryptonite in her system, which is incredible news. Her powers seem to be returning, as well, little by little. There’s no super-strength or invulnerability yet, but two nights ago, Kara had been hovering in her sleep. So, all in all, things are looking up.
Kara’s finishing up a session in the parked RV when Lena goes to call this time, bundled up in a jacket they acquired two towns over—it’s beginning to get really cold, really fast. They parked a few blocks away from the nearest payphone, and it’s on the way there that Lena feels something is off.
Always trust your gut.
She pulls her baseball cap over her eyes and puts her hands deep in her pockets as she idly looks around—there are a few shops open in town, and she uses their bright storefronts as an excuse to linger and examine her surroundings. Lena’s almost to the payphone when she spots him.
On the street corner, leaning against a building, lighting a cigarette.
Lena can’t decide whether to run back to Kara or to the payphone, to tell Alex they’ve been spotted. The man hasn’t looked at her yet, but Lena has no doubt in her mind—it’s the same man she had seen in Texas, the one she thought had been watching them.
She practically sprints to the phone—she’s so, so close. The man doesn’t seem to notice her as she scrambles with the chord and punches in Alex’s number, but he turns his head just as she hears Alex’s voice through the receiver after the first ring, and Lena feels her heart in her throat. Their eyes meet, and he smiles, slow and dangerous.
“This is Danvers. Hello?”
Lena drops the phone—it bounces and dangles from the chord, hitting the booth walls with a deafening clatter—when she looks up again, the man is gone.
