Maximize Your Growth: Unlock The Power Of Zero Trust Architecture

Boosting Scalability and Growth: The Quantifiable Impact of Zero Trust Architecture on Organizations
Amid rising security breaches, the limitations of traditional cybersecurity models highlight the need for a robust, adaptive framework. Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), operating on the principle of "trust no one, verify everything," offers enhanced protection aligned with modern tech trends like remote work and IoT. This article explores ZTA's core components, implementation strategies, and transformative impacts for stronger cyber defenses.
Understanding Zero Trust Architecture
Zero Trust Architecture is a cybersecurity strategy that revolves around the belief that organizations should not automatically trust anything inside or outside their perimeters. Instead, they must verify anything and everything by trying to connect to its systems before granting access. This approach protects modern digital environments by leveraging network segmentation, preventing lateral movement, providing Layer 7 threat prevention, and simplifying granular user-access control.
Core Principles of Zero Trust
Explicit Verification: Regardless of location, every user, device, application, and data flow is authenticated and authorized under the strictest possible conditions. This ensures that security does not rely on static, network-based perimeters.
Least Privilege Access: Users are only given access to the resources needed to perform their job functions. This minimizes the risk of attackers accessing sensitive data through compromised credentials or insider threats.
Micro-segmentation: The network is divided into secure zones, and security controls are enforced on a per-segment basis. This limits an attacker's ability to move laterally across the network.
Continuous Monitoring: Zero Trust systems continuously monitor and validate the security posture of all owned and associated devices and endpoints. This helps detect and respond to threats in real-time.
Historical Development
With the advent of mobile devices, cloud technology, and the dissolution of conventional perimeters, Zero Trust offered a more realistic model of cybersecurity that reflects the modern, decentralized network environment.
Zero Trust Architecture reshapes how we perceive and implement cybersecurity measures in an era where cyber threats are ubiquitous and evolving. By understanding these foundational elements, organizations can better plan and transition towards a Zero Trust model, reinforcing their defenses against sophisticated cyber threats comprehensively and adaptively.
The Need for Zero Trust Architecture
No matter how spooky the expression 'zero trust' might sound, we must address that the rapidly advancing technology landscape dramatically transformed how businesses operate, leading to new vulnerabilities and increasing the complexity of maintaining secure environments. The escalation in frequency and sophistication of cyber-attacks necessitates a shift from traditional security models to more dynamic, adaptable frameworks like Zero Trust Architecture. Here, we explore why this shift is not just beneficial but essential.
Limitations of Traditional Security Models
Traditional security models often operate under the premise of a strong perimeter defense, commonly referred to as the "castle-and-moat" approach. This method assumes that threats can be kept out by fortifying the outer defenses. However, this model falls short in several ways:
Perimeter Breach: Once a breach occurs, the attacker has relatively free reign over the network, leading to potential widespread damage.
Insider Threats: It inadequately addresses insider threats, where the danger comes from within the network—either through malicious insiders or compromised credentials.
Network Perimeter Dissolution: The increasing adoption of cloud services and remote workforces has blurred the boundaries of traditional network perimeters, rendering perimeter-based defenses less effective.
Rising Cybersecurity Challenges
Traditional security models often operate under the premise of a strong perimeter defense, commonly referred to as the "castle-and-moat" approach. This method assumes that threats can be kept out by fortifying the outer defenses. However, this model falls short in several ways:
Increased Data Breaches: Recently, annual data breaches exploded, with billions of records being exposed each year, affecting organizations of all sizes.
Cost of Data Breaches: The average cost of a data breach has risen, significantly impacting the financial health of affected organizations.
Zero Trust: The Ultimate Response to Modern Challenges
Zero Trust Architecture arose to address the vulnerabilities inherent in modern network environments:
Remote Work: With more talent working remotely, traditional security boundaries became obsolete. Zero Trust ensures secure access regardless of location.
Cloud Computing: As more data and applications move to the cloud, Zero Trust provides rigorous access controls that secure cloud environments effectively.
Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs)
Zero Trust's continuous verification model is ideal for detecting and mitigating sophisticated attacks that employ long-term infiltration strategies.
The Shift to Zero Trust
Organizations increasingly recognize the limitations of traditional security measures and shift towards Zero Trust principles. Several needs drive this transition:
Enhance Security Posture:Implement robust, flexible security measures that adapt to the evolving IT landscape.
Minimize Attack Surfaces:Limit the potential entry points for attackers, thereby reducing overall risk.
Improve Regulatory Compliance
Meet stringent data protection regulations that demand advanced security measures.
In the face of ever-evolving threats and changing business practices, it becomes clear that Zero Trust Architecture goes beyond a simple necessity.
By adopting Zero Trust, not only can organizations stand tall against current threats more effectively but also position themselves to adapt to future challenges in the cybersecurity landscape. This proactive approach is critical to maintaining the integrity and resilience of modern digital enterprises.
Critical Components of Zero Trust Architecture
Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) redefines security by systematically addressing the challenges of a modern digital ecosystem. Architecture comprises several vital components that ensure robust protection against internal and external threats. Understanding these components provides insight into how Zero Trust operates and why it is effective.
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
A cornerstone of Zero Trust is Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), which enhances security by requiring multiple proofs of identity before granting access. Unlike traditional security that might rely solely on passwords, MFA can include a combination of:
By integrating MFA, organizations significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access due to credential theft or simple password breaches.
Least Privilege Access Control
At the heart of the Zero Trust model is the principle of least privilege, which dictates that users and devices only get the minimum access necessary for their specific roles. This approach limits the potential damage from compromised accounts and reduces the attack surface within an organization. Implementing the least privilege requires:
Rigorous user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) to understand typical access patterns.
Dynamic policy enforcement to adapt permissions based on the changing context and risk level.
Microsegmentation
Microsegmentation divides network resources into separate, secure zones. Each zone requires separate authentication and authorization to access, which prevents an attacker from moving laterally across the network even if they breach one segment. This strategy is crucial in minimizing the impact of an attack by:
Isolating critical resources and sensitive data from broader network access.
Applying tailored security policies specific to each segment's function and sensitivity.
Continuous Monitoring and Validation
Zero Trust insists on continuously monitoring and validating all devices and user activities within its environment. This proactive stance ensures that anomalies or potential threats are quickly identified and responded to. Key aspects include:
Real-time threat detection using advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI.
Automated response protocols that can isolate threats and mitigate damage without manual intervention.
Device Security
In Zero Trust, security extends beyond the user to their devices. Every device attempting to access resources must be secured and authenticated, including:
The assurance that devices meet security standards before they can connect.
Continuously assessing device health to detect potential compromises or anomalies.
Integration of Security Policies and Governance
Implementing Zero Trust requires a cohesive integration of security policies and governance frameworks that guide the deployment and operation of security measures. This integration helps in:
Standardizing security protocols across all platforms and environments.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Implementing Zero Trust Components.
Implementing Zero Trust involves assessing needs, defining policies, and integrating solutions, requiring cross-departmental collaboration. This proactive approach creates a resilient security posture, adapting to evolving threats and transforming security strategy.
Implementing Zero Trust Architecture
Implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) is a strategic endeavor that requires careful planning, a detailed understanding of existing systems, and a clear roadmap for integration. Here's a comprehensive guide to deploying Zero Trust in an organization, ensuring a smooth transition and security enhancements to ensure a practical realization.
Step 1: Define the Protect Surface
The first step in implementing Zero Trust is to identify and define the 'protect surface'—the critical data, assets, applications, and services that need protection. Such an implementation will involve the following:
Data Classification: Identify where sensitive data resides, how it moves, and who accesses it.
Asset Management: Catalog and manage hardware, software, and network resources to understand the full scope of the digital environment.
Step 2: Map Transaction Flows
Understanding how data and requests flow within the network is crucial. Mapping transaction flows helps in the following:
Identifying legitimate traffic patterns: This aids in designing policies that allow normal business processes while blocking suspicious activities.
Establishing baselines for network behavior: Anomalies from these baselines can be quickly detected and addressed.
Step 3: Architect a Zero Trust Network
With a clear understanding of the protected surface and transaction flows, the next step is to design the network architecture based on Zero Trust principles:
Microsegmentation: Design network segments based on the sensitivity and requirements of the data they contain.
Least Privilege Access Control: Implement strict access controls and enforce them consistently across all environments.
Step 4: Create a Zero Trust Policy
Zero Trust policies dictate how identities and devices access resources, including:
Policy Engine Creation: Develop a policy engine that uses dynamic security rules to make access decisions based on the trust algorithm.
Automated Rules and Compliance: Utilize automation to enforce policies efficiently and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Step 5: Monitor and Maintain
Zero Trust requires ongoing evaluation and adaptation to remain effective. Continuous monitoring and maintenance involve:
Advanced Threat Detection: Use behavioral analytics, AI, and machine learning to detect and respond to anomalies in real-time.
Security Posture Assessment: Regularly assess the security posture to adapt to new threats and incorporate technological advancements.
Feedback Loops: Establish mechanisms to learn from security incidents and continuously improve security measures.
Step 6: Training and Culture Change
Implementing Zero Trust affects all aspects of an organization and requires a shift in culture and mindset:
Comprehensive Training: Educate staff about the principles of Zero Trust, their roles within the system, and the importance of security in their daily activities.
Promote Security Awareness: Foster a security-first culture where all employees are vigilant and proactive about security challenges.
Challenges in Implementation
The transition to Zero Trust is not without its challenges:
Complexity in Integration: Integrating Zero Trust with existing IT and legacy systems can be complex and resource-intensive.
Resistance to Change: Operational disruptions and skepticism from stakeholders can impede progress.
Cost Implications: Initial setup, especially in large organizations, can be costly and require significant technological and training investments.
Successfully implementing Zero Trust Architecture demands a comprehensive approach beyond technology, including governance, behavior change, and continuous improvement. By following these steps, organizations can enhance their cybersecurity defenses and build a more resilient and adaptive security posture equipped to handle the threats of a dynamic digital world.

you trigger my unskippable cutscene
Guys Divorcesteal is really good in a way that's destroying my sleep schedule!
Divorcesteal is a Minecraft SMP made by fans of the Lifesteal SMP (including a couple of my friends) with similar mechanics and more gay divorce.
On the server killing another player takes a heart from their healthbar and gives it to you. Which means you can only lose so many fights in a row before you're on zero and get banned. So you need to spend a bunch of resources either crafting new hearts or reviving dead players.
But unlike Lifesteal these aren't some of the best and sweatiest Minecraft PvPers in the world, they're… tumblr fandom dweebs. Which means there are fun fights, but mostly there's psychosexual torment, angst, and queerbaiting. Roleplay is king with everyone playing at least a heightened version of themselves, and so falling in love getting married and having an angry divorce is often a more significant kind of plotline than the combat.
But the really fun things from a viewer pov is the roleplay is just as competitive as the combat. Characters in the story keep secrets to advance their agendas, which means the players keep secrets from the other players. Because many people livestream their perspective or record it for youtube this means strict no stream-sniping rules. Players can't watch streams/videos marked :3 without permission and fans are told not to leak what they see.
Which is great!!! Because it means i get to talk to my good friend Will and say I'm so excited to see the next stream! And tell everyone else that I'm excited because :3 I know that next stream the person she trusts most on the server is going to murder her, which Will doesn't know!
^ Actually happened on Tuesday it was fucked up and beautiful!
The macro scale plot atm is the season ends in 2 weeks and various teams are firing off their endgame plans. Pathogen are building monumental architecture for obscure and sinister purposes. 1000 Suns formed with the plan of escaping to the End dimension and blocking access to it using advanced chunk banning tech so they could be safe. Pathogen found out by misc sneaky shit and they moved first. So now the server has no End portals at all and the whole dimension is inaccessible.
I'm currently fixated on Will's smaller team/polycule called Elysium, with Angel and ChipsEclipse. Will had secretly planned to join 1000 Suns in the End, but due to a combination of irl timing issues and personal (in character) beef it wasn't clear if Chips would be welcome. The plan became impossible due to not having an End to run away to, at which point Chips found out, felt hurt and abandoned, and decided to betray the team by joining pathogen and killing Will and Angel. Hence the :3 situation on Tuesday.
But of course being fucked up tumblr/ao3 kids everyone has decided to yes-and this situation to produce even more heartbreak and angst. Especially from the pov of Angel who wasn't involved in the murdering but was in the polycule and remains in love with both of them!
If you want to join me in experiencing this the tumblr tag is pretty active. There's lots of streams on these acounts:

Bad Buddy Ep 6
My thoughts on Ep 1 | Ep 2 | Ep 3 | Ep 4 | Ep 5
Me, at the end of this episode:
Something about the way Pran buttoned his shirt all the way up to the collar, like it's suffocating for him to share space with Pat for the first time since their rooftop kiss, is making me unwell.
Why is Pat's father on my screen? I do not like that man. He makes Pran uncomfortable and I can't allow that. Why does Pran make himself look small when interacting with Pat's dad? Is it just his way of showing respect for an elder or is there something more?
"We know how it's going to end; isn't it better not to start at all?" Pran, bestie, are we still talking about music here? It hasn't escaped me that Pran is leaving the guitar with Wai after Pat kept it with him for 3 years before returning it to Pran. I just hope Pat doesn't find out about this.
Now, What is Pran's mom deal? You're on a timeout along with Pat's dad. Go sit in the corner for a while.
Pa is a child of (PatPran's) divorce at this point. She has to put up with Pat wreaking havoc in his room with the drums.
Pa out her assuming that everyone likes Ink because she likes her. Understandable, bestie, but you're way off in this case.
Pat following Pran to the architecture faculty volunteer camp strengthens my belief that Pat is just a lost puppy following Pran around.
The irony of Pran ignoring Pat by using the earphones that Pat gave him isn't lost on me.
Pran hasn't counted on Pat's pesky persistence. I'm cheering you on, Pat; make Pran go off-kilter.
Now, let's all thank Uncle Tong for coming up with these activities at a volunteer camp and divine intervention for actually pairing them together.
PAT USED HIS HAND TO PROTECT PRAN'S HEAD FROM THE FALL.
Wai is officially on my shit list. Why is he being so damn possessive of Pran? Pran can make his own choices, and if he weren't comfortable with Pat lying on him, I can't imagine why he wouldn't be, he can take care of himself.
Pat, bestie, I love how brazen you are, and I appreciate it.
Pran saying, "Someone like him will quit bothering us when he has had enough," in relation to Pat, and Pat coming with a chair to settle between Pran and Wai is just too fucking funny.
Now, Pran is being the physical embodiment of "My having feelings for you has nothing to do with you. Don't talk to me."
Pat is using the child, Junior, as their unofficial couple's counselor.
So, the trip to the market counts as a date, right? Glad we agree on that. Even the vendor thinks that they look cute together.
PLAYING IN THE WATER TOGETHER!!! This episode is a gift that keeps on giving. The conversation by the beach.
Okay, but what did Pat do to have Pran transferred from the school? I get his anger at his mom, but what did Pat do other than be a part of the band?
I love how, although there isn't any direct mention of homophobia (yet) in the show, their (familial & faculty) rivalry, that they didn't ask for but was imposed on them, feels like an allegory for it.
Without people around, I can sit next to you just fine. But when there's other people, talking to you feels like amatter of life and death. What can we do? We were just born this way.
OMG. Their hands touched, and Pran didn't pull away!!!!
I'm not even mad about the product placements, and that's how you know the show got me hooked.
Wai and Pat sharing a room will be interesting for sure. I don't trust him, though; he looks like he's planning to hurt my boy.
I love how Pat has zero chill, just bulldozing his way to Pran.
Wai, you fucking asshole, who do you think you are?? Pran, save your man!!!
And he does. Pran's on-the-spot lore cooking skills need to be taught in school. It's a survival skill if I'm being honest. He wasn't lying, though. His first love did fall in love. WITH HIM.
Pat CAUGHT Pran's hand and stopped him from leaving. ASFFGHDGJ—
Oh, nothing to see here, just a pair of lying liars sitting by the beach and lying to each other.
Pat's face lit up like a Christmas tree when he heard Pran say It is so obvious that you like me.
Gotta love Pat's tenacity and how he maneuvered Pran into being the recipient of his flirting.
Everything's gotta be a competition with these two. However, in this scenario, both of them are going to win and have fun along the way.
Let the (flirting) games begin!!!
Pran's definition of flirting is licking Pat's finger. SIT WITH THAT INFORMATION!! Pran, my beloved, you are a fucking menace for pulling the big guns out this early in the game!!
Tagging the usual suspects: @shortpplfedup, @incandescentflower, @starryalpacasstuff, @7nessasaryevils, @greenteadumplings, @grapejuicegay, @madworld-bbs, @usodeshou. If anyone wishes to be tagged in the future, let me know.

“Chan, I will fall!” You protested as your boyfriend insisted you wear a blindfold as he helped you out of the house.
“Shh, trust the process, baby,” Chan cooed.
“What process? You are kidnapping me with zero details,” you whined.
“Three years, you have so little faith in me?” Chan asked, feigning hurt.
“You’ve blindfolded me and told me to dress comfy and said all we’re doing is something fun,” you said.
“Sorry baby, I need to be vague for our Valentine,” Chan declared.
“Shit,” Chan mumbled as he helped you into the car.
“That’s what we're doing?” You exclaimed as Chan mumbled a ‘yes.
“It was meant to be a surprise,” Chain complained as he got into the car and the driver's seat and you could hear the pout in his voice.
You blindly reached out your hand over the console, placed it on Chan’s thigh, and squeezed it slightly.
“All you’ve told me is it’s for Valentine’s, nothing else. Don’t worry, you haven’t told me anything,” you said, attempting to comfort him.
“Phew, then we’re good,” Chan said determinedly.
“Okay, you can take the blindfold off,” Chan instructed.
“Wait, you made me wear a blindfold just to walk from the house to the car?” You exclaimed dramatically as you ripped the blindfold off.
“Yes, if you saw how handsome I looked, I was worried you’d just drag me back to bed,” Chan said with a wink. You rolled your eyes at his admission.
“You are hot, and you’re right. I would have dragged you back to bed, but I do have self-control,” you joked.
“Not that I’ve seen,” Chan said with a smirk.
“Shut up.”
As Chan drove, you both embarked on your road trip through Seoul. The landscape unfolded before you like a painting. As you both left the bustling cityscape behind, you found yourselves slowly cruising along the winding roads that led you to the lush green countryside.
The journey was picturesque as you both navigated through serene valleys adorned with vibrant cherry blossoms, and their delicate petals danced in the gentle breeze. You saw mountains that stood majestically in the distance, and their peaks shrouded in wisps of mist, creating a scene straight out of a postcard.
You pass by quaint villages, where you catch glimpses of traditional Korean architecture, that had been so well preserved. You observed lush, emerald coloured rice paddies, that created a patchwork of greenery.
As the drive continued, the road meandered along the coastline, allowing you to steal a breathtaking view of the sea, the way it sparkled with the sun. You saw the waves rise and crash, and you took a breath, as you soaked in the tranquility of the sea.
You saw cascading waterfalls tumbling down moss-covered rocks, serene temples nestled in verdant forests, and ancient fortresses perched atop rugged hills.
As day drew closer to an end, you saw the sun starting to dip below the horizon, watching as the sky turned into hues of pink and gold, and in that moment you found yourself overcome with joy, love and emotion.
“Chan, this is beautiful,” you sighed as you saw the sights.
“Isn’t it? I wish I could do this more often, but time with you and the sights almost make up for the fact I’m not the best boyfriend,” Chan mumbled.
“Hush, you are the best boyfriend ever, and yes, maybe we have to do things a little differently than most couples, but that doesn’t mean you’re not amazing,” you said, reaching over to run your hand through his hair.
“I think Cupid shot me in the ass because I think I just fell even more head over heels for you,” Chan said smugly, making you roll your eyes.
“You are so lucky. I love you,” you mumbled.
“I am.”
“Holy shit,” you gasped as you walked into the beautiful house Chan had rented.
“You rented this for us?” You asked as he led you into the house, holding your hand.
“Yes, for the entire weekend. Notice that it's super isolated, too? So you can scream as much as you want,” Chan suggested flirty.
“Why would I be screaming?” You asked.
“Because baby, it’s Valentine’s Day, and I’m going to spend it showing you how much I love you multiple times, too,” Chan explained, making you giggle.
“But first, we must set the mood. I am going to get the strawberries and cream,” Chan said.
“Huh?”
“They’re aphrodisiacs,” Chan stated.
“You just want to start fucking straight away, don’t you?” You teased.
“Problem?”
“Nope, but I hope you don’t mind. I didn’t prepare as much for today. I’ve been strapped for cash after online shopping, so do you want to unwrap me instead?” You teased.
“Gladly, you’re the best present, plus I can eat you.”
“Chan! Shut up!”
“Can you please, for the love of god, get hard?” Chan yelled at the bowl of whipping cream that just would not seem to comply.
“Babe, if getting hard is a problem, I hope you realise that it happens to many guys, and there is medication if it persists,” you said. You were peeling the stalks off strawberries, being Chan’s dutiful sous chef, and making smart-ass comments like the last one was high on your resume, and Chan turned around to glare at you.
“Okay, one, don’t quote friends to me. Two shut up.”
“You look hot, by the way,” you complimented, focusing on your strawberries.
“I know I am.”
“Baby, I’m serious. Come here for a second,” you said, motioning him to the kitchen counter where you were sitting.
“Yes?” Chan said as he placed his arms by your legs. You pulled the hoodie of his zipper off and pushed the fabric off his toned body. Chan narrowed his eyes at you.
“Seriously, how is it fair that I am shirtless and you aren’t?” You smiled, rolling your eyes at his comment.
“I’m wearing a shirt. You, on the other hand, like a fucking idiot, wore a hoodie in a kitchen,” you quipped.
“Why are you, my assistant again?” Chan asked.
“Simple, you love me, and you’re a simp.”
“I am.”
You had to bite your lip when you saw your boyfriend’s exposed back. His broad, tanned shoulders and muscles were enough to have you drooling.
“How are the strawberries going?” Chan asked; you grinned as you hatched a plan.
“They’re good,” you mumbled, a mouthful of strawberries, and Chan dropped his whisk into the bowl.
“You’re not meant to be eating them,” he said as he turned around and glared as he saw you suck and bite into a strawberry. The fruit's juices coated your mouth, enough to make Chan snap.
“Okay! That’s enough!”
You looked at Chan innocently as you licked your lips.
“Baby? Is it sweet enough?” You asked, and Chan closed the gap between you as he pulled you in for a kiss. Chan’s hands went to the bottom of your shirt, pulling it off, groaning when he found you naked underneath it.
“Sweet,” he said against your lips.
“Fucking sweet,” he praised as his hands moved to move the glass bowl of strawberries to the other counter.
“Lie down,” Chan said. You nodded, gasping slightly at the cold marble hitting your back.
You felt something cold on your stomach, and it moved its way down to your cunt. “Fuck, Chan, what is that?” You asked.
“Whipped cream, god, and it is going to make that sweet little cunt of yours even sweeter,” Chan said as he lowered his head. You moaned as you felt the whipped cream trail further down. Chan pushed your legs apart as he leaned down to wrap his lips around your cunt.
“Fuck, I was right. So sweet,” Chan praised, making you moan as you tangled your hands in his hair. You felt his lips and tongue move in such delicate yet thorough movements. He left no part of you untouched. It didn’t take long; with the way his full lips wrapped around your clit, and the way his tongue flicked at your clit you came pretty soon.
“Fuck, you somehow taste sweeter than the cream,” Chan said as he helped you sit up on the counter.
“Come on, let’s get you to the shower. I want you to cream for me,” you glared at him.
“Do you ever think your jokes might be the biggest turn-off for me?” You joked, and Chan threw you over his shoulder and slapped your ass, making you moan. Chan smirked.
“Yeah, that moan proves otherwise.”

Rewatching Boy Meets World from S5-S7 is a wild time, because for all the emphasis this show places on the characters getting into college, we only end up finding out what one of them actually majors in once they're there. So, here's my ideas/thoughts that no one's asked for on everyone's eventual majors, from what I'm surest of to pure speculation:
Jack - Journalism & Engineering: First off, it's WILD to me that this is the only confirmed major we have from anyone on the show. Second, I have mixed feelings about it. Engineering makes total sense given his future career deals in the business of building pipelines/structures that could impact the environment but also make one very rich. However, why not make his second major be business then??? Even if the writers didn't know his future career then, they showed Jack has a propensity for entrepreneurship and is money motivated. It would've made way more sense for him to double in business or finance rather than a major we never saw him care for, as great as the journalism rep is. Or, if not business, do architecture! He mentioned wanting to be an architect and Eric said he'd be great at it! He had a highly technical and grand scheme kind of mind! Let him construct big things!
Topanga - Pre Law: Political-Science(?): We eventually find out in GMW that Topanga earns her Master's Degree in Political Science and ends up going to NYU law, but there's zero clue during BMW about her concentration while she's pre-law. Like...at all. I suppose she did political science given her later degree, but...maybe also not!
Shawn - English/Literature or Journalism: Shawn takes a lot of literature and writing courses in college (ignore that everyone else does as well), and he ends up working as a professional writer/photographer. I'd say he's an English major or something of the sort. Either that, or journalism adjacent. Very sure of this despite it not being mentioned directly.
Eric - Psychology: This is my strongest not-super-confirmed hunch. Not only do we see Eric take a ton of psych courses (ignore that everyone else does as well), but we're shown/told multiple times that the one thing he gets, even post-grad, is people. $20 what happened is he chose psych because, ah yes, I know people! I can study their minds!, only to reach graduation and realize he had no idea what to actually do with it. Panicked, he threw himself into community service/volunteering for a while as a way to still contribute to society/be helpful while buying himself time to figure things out. That built a solid rep for him with people -> people elected him mayor because he's great with people/the community -> people/the community elected him as senator because they trusted he cared about them/would work to advocate for their needs and what's right. Still think he should've been Feeny 2.0 or just studied meteorology like he wanted to from the start (screams), but I see the vision.
Cory - Education? History? Both?: Cory's college experience confuses me. He ends up a teacher, but we never received even a hint that that's what he was studying. I mean, you're telling me Mr. George Feeny, greatest teacher of all time, saw one of his favorite students majoring in education and didn't absolutely snag that boy aside to coach him in his image 24/7??? There's only two explanations I can think of here. 1) Cory majored in history (we see him take a few history classes) and went back to school to study as a teacher (since he later is a history teacher). 2) Cory switched majors to education after the show ended. I'm still mad he didn't just go into video journalism.
Angela - African American Studies/Literature(?): Angela mentions a few times doing papers regarding social justice/African American studies, but it's never really specified what it's all going toward. She also has a known love for poetry and literature (she owns lots of books/is seen writing and reading a lot), so she very well could've been doing something with that, too. I kind of like the idea of her becoming a prolific author writing on her feelings/experiences/thoughts on society/etc. It would be cool too if she ended up writing anything about her dad, especially in his honor once he passes.
Rachel - Social Work? Environmental Science? I think she mentions law at some point(?), but Rachel is kind of all over the place future-wise. We see her super unsure of what she wants to do in life, even right before graduation (ngl I giggled at the writers having her want to be so many things that require specific undergrad tracks & post-grad programs to even be considered for, be so fr you bunch). Given the fact she goes off to the Peace Corps, I'd like to think she was in the general realm of social work/sustainability/etc. and just went on to execute what she learned about that through the Peace Corps.

**Excerpt from Chapter 1 of "I want to go out with you..", a Zenless Zone Zero fanfiction by YakFruit**
--------------
I want to go out with you.
Hoshimi Miyabi listened to her heart beat quickly in her chest as she reread Wise's text for the hundredth time. Did that mean what she thought it meant? Was she going to Lumina Square… for a date?!
Surely… surely, not! No one asked her on dates. Outside of work, most people didn't even talk to her. They either said strange and obscene things, like requests to step on them- which Yanagi said she should absolutely not entertain and Miyabi was to pretend she didn't hear them; or they would approach her and as soon as she looked at them, their mouths would struggle to say anything, they would sweat, be nervous, and then eventually bow to her and leave.
A lot of boys in high school and university had done exactly that. Not a single one had ever asked her on a date.
Why? Had they changed their mind about speaking to her? Miyabi suspected perhaps they didn't like the way she looked at close range. Probably because they realized she was short and plain. Unlike tall and beautiful Yanagi who was always declining the advances of men, and some women, too. But no one ever approached Miyabi. So, there must be something very different between herself and Yanagi, and the most obvious thing was height.
But maybe… probably today would be different?
Today, the Proxy, HER proxy… wanted to go out with her!.
What did that mean? What was she supposed to do? Would Wise act like all the other men and get up close to her, hesitate, and then bow himself away? Miyabi could not decide if her heart was thudding of excitement or fear, it could be both; but regardless, she resolved to see this situation through.
She got out of the Hoshimi family car in a quiet back alley near Lumina and told the driver to return to the estate. She couldn't back out now, and Yanagi always told her she should relax with people her own age outside of work. She should relax with friends; of which, outside of work, Miyabi had none. But Wise the Proxy was only work-related. He was a man her age who was not a co-worker. He was a friend who.. Maybe… could be even more…
Miyabi's heart thumped harder.
Miyabi walked through the quiet alleyway, her eye catching the movement of a cat cleaning itself on top of a dumpster lid- it watched Miyabi pass as if mildly offended that Miyabi had the nerve to walk through its bathing area. Ahead of her, the murmur of a crowd gradually grew. Lumina Square was a popular place for civilians, and today was Saturday, so it was bustling with people. It was time to see if her disguise worked.
It was Yanagi's idea: dress as un-Miyabi like as possible and no one would recognize her. Hoshimi Miyabi the Void Hunter wore a traditional robe, was always in the color green, and carried a sword. So today, normal-person-Miyabi was dressed in light pink culotte pants, ((Miyabi had first tried some very short jean shorts but Yangi had frowned and told her that was going too far, and who was she going to meet in Lumina square, exactly?)) Also: a billowy white blouse with short, lacey sleeves, and a wide-brimmed, straw-gold whicker hat with holes cut in for her ears to go through.
Miyabi always had to have her sword with her, but she had it concealed within a large leather tube that was strapped to her back- Yanagi claimed the outfit made Miyabi appear as a trendy architecture student with her blueprint case. Miyabi trusted Yanagi's judgement in all things.
The moment of truth.
Miyabi stepped into the sunlight and onto the pedestrian walkway of Lumina Square, emerging near the H.I.A. VR building. No one seemed to notice her. Miyabi took a deep breath. That was a good sign. She was used to being immediately recognized. Her eyes sought out the newsstand and the caltrop sculptures that Miyabi knew from memory to be just across the street near the riverwalk, but with all the crowd, she couldn't see them from where she stood. Most people were taller than her and she couldn't see over the sea of the Saturday crowd.
Well, she knew where she was going, anyway. Miyabi stepped forward into the flow of people and was almost immediately bowled over.
"Hey! Careful miss!" barked a young man as his friends laughed at him.
"A- apologies," said Miyabi. She then tried to step forward again and bumped into an old woman.
"Oh, my! Careful, dear," said the woman.
Miyabi apologized again and realized something different was happening to her: People were not… just moving out of her way! They saw her… and just kept going in the direction they wanted to, rather than diverting themselves from Miyabi's path! This.. this made walking in a crowded place much harder than usual!
She cautiously moved forward, her eyes attentive to the sea of people around her, trying to understand all the tiny and fast body language signals that everyone else seemed attuned to. No one else was bumping into each other. They all knew how to move and walk in a way that flowed seamlessly about one another- but Miyabi would take a single step and suddenly people in front of her would stumble to a stop and look at her in alarmed annoyance, or someone behind her would accidentally bump into her back, presumably due to her unexpected stop in the middle of the sidewalk.
Miyabi began to feel flustered. She was used to cutting through crowds, through obstacles, through enemies. But apparently that was something Void-Hunter-Miyabi could do, while normal-person-Miyabi was just a small thiren woman in a very tall world.
Suddenly, she felt helpless, and that was an entirely alien emotion to Hoshimi Miyabi. She forgot her destination, her eyes became worried and frantic as she looked all around her at the moving crowd and yet somehow saw nothing. Where was she? Where was she going? How could she possibly get there?
Then a gentle hand took hold of hers.
She looked up and Wise smiled warmly down at her, a sea of other people passing all around them like they were a single stone in a brisk stream. Miyabi's heart thudded in her chest again. He was quite handsome. She had forgotten that somehow.
"Hey," he said with his soft, husky voice. "The river is this way, follow me."
Miyabi couldn't respond because her heart was clogging her throat, but she allowed Wise to pull her gently in his wake as he forged through the crowd like an icebreaker ship in the arctic. His hand on hers was soft and smooth- never scarred by labor or by martial training. Miyabi's father wouldn't like Wise' hands. He would say these were the hands of a weak man and Miyabi should instead look for a strong man with hands made tough and leathery with labor, effort, and skill.
But Miyabi now knew her father was mistaken. She'd seen Wise's abilities in hollows and in his Proxy work. In the modern world, one could be quite skilled and still have soft and smooth hands.
Miyabi knew her own hands were tough and leathery with callouses, her endless sword training leaving behind its scars. Oh, what did Wise think of her hands?! Did he find them disgusting? That sudden fearful thought almost made her left go of him, but she forced herself not to.
Meanwhile, Wise walked confidently, occasionally giving way when required, and expertly extracted them both from the main press of humanity and out to the more roomy area of the riverside walk. To Miyabi's relief, Wise released her hand and turned to smile at her, apparently not disturbed by the texture of her skin- though Wise seemed the type who would hide such a truth from her, anyway.
"Thank you, Proxy," said Miyabi.
Wise blinked at her and frowned suddenly. "Use my name Miyabi. It's Wise, remember?"

HELLO AND @veeeffvee THANKS AGAIN FOR INSPIRATION. I LIKED YOUR GHOST FAN FUSIONS SM SO I DECIDED TO DRAW ONE. QUITE A LOT???
I even gave him a name
✨Shuffle✨
I love Chris and Kennith so much so. yeah I gave them and their fusion much info and headcanons. hope you enjoy it
let's get started
✨Shuffle✨ is the fusion of Christopher and Kennith
He loves TV shows, design, music, gothic architecture, and smashing mirrors and faces of his bullies with a metal bat.
He has a pink metal bat, a microphone and a megaphone (I thought that would be a good mix of Chris and Kenny's stuff).
Shuff is quite a joyful and cheerful fusion. Easy-going, big hearted and broad minded, but tricky if he has any intention. Usually he doesn't carry violence first— only as a defense. During self-defense, he becomes ruthless since he doesn't feel sorry for the aggressors— he will attack and move on as if nothing happened.
Shuffle is rather less (passive-)aggressive and less impulsive than Christopher but he is much more brave and sharper than Kennith.
From Christopher, the fusion has a pronounced theatricality and mannerism— it won't be difficult for him to make the right impression and play out the right emotion. The only difference is that Shuff is actually able to feel emotions unlike Chris. The latter has a long way to develop and express his emotions.
From Kennith, Shuff has a vision of the world as an opportunity to turn any of his ideas into reality. Shuff is not shy at all about experimenting with many things— the eccentricity comes entirely from Kennith.
Kennith himself is a simple boy, he is very sincere. Thus the fusion is very communicative, talkative and has zero hesitation. Similarly with Christopher— this goes well with independence from the opinions of others and the ability to protect himself.
The main difference between Shuff and both of them is that he has a basic trust in the world, although that sounds like a paradox.
Shuffle doesn't mind doing anything active and social. However, Shuff will never do what might be annoying for one of his halves. Kennith dislikes to be watched by a crowd, and Christopher can't stand to be idle, either. Therefore, we find a compromise and something in between.
Shuffle is independent from his creators, he has his own will, his own personality and own hobbies. He is not just an appendage of Chris and Kennith. Although Shuff is very impressionable and sometimes not the most stable, especially in the case of a mental breakdown of one of his halves (often Kennith).
~Headcanons~
▷ Christopher is 190 cm (6'3") tall. Kennith is 165 cm (5'5") tall. Shuffle is 267 cm (8.76), very tall fusion
▷ Christopher plays in the theater. Kennith is passionate about technology and works in a modest electronics store (he graduated from high school and gave himself a couple of years to save money for college). Shuffle has skills in both of these areas but he isn't such a fan of electronics. He prefers social and active work
▷ Christopher is still able to transform into his shadow (distortionist) form or simply summon dark arms from his back. Shuffle can do that too :))) and this is the best feeling for Kennith in the fusion, and outside of it too, hugging and cuddling with six arms is great
▷ Crispy's sharp tongue and his perception greatly affects Kennith both in the relationship and inside of the fusion. Learning self-defense and reflecting back on himself, so to say
▷ His pronouns— Shuffle uses both 'I/me' and 'we/us' depending on his mood
▷ Shuffle has scars on his body. On his hips and arms most of all, the wrists, forearms and elbows are covered with striped scars. But Shuff doesn't have burn scars— he is afraid of fires
▷ Shuff looks at his scars with severe sadness. The scars are a reminder of his most difficult time when everyone was against him (Kennith, honey, all these b!tches will burn in hell which you will set up for them together with Chris). Shuff felt how helpless Kennith was during that time, and feels bitter that he couldn't help him
▷ Shuffle likes to wear colorful socks
▷ Shuffle likes to crunch his fingers and all bones
▷ If you think about their relationship, Christopher felt very bad about Kennith's scars. Usually a sense of justice only works towards Crispy, but he was surprised when he felt the same towards Kenny. Chris is of the same sexuality as him, and he would have smashed all who disagreed, to pieces with a metal bat. Also Christopher taught Kennith how to use a bat don't change my mind
▷ If Chris acts on a momentary decision, Shuff thinks about his feelings here and now. That is, first he feels, and then decides. Chris lacks empathy (which he began to develop in the relationship), but Shuff has enough of it, especially for himself
▷ Shuff knows how to be cheeky, this is both toxic from Chris and hostility to the world from Kenny
▷ Shuff drinks a barrel of wine at once. He doesn't get drunk at all
▷ Yes, Christopher loves red semi-sweet wine
▷ The first time Chris and Kennith fused, Shuffle was unstable and had a slightly different design. For example, unstable Shuff had pink hair with parts of white and chaotic mixed clothing from both members

i should probably wait for tomorrow's episode to get the full picture and closure and the promos might have misled me into thinking we have lesser of Patpran than there actually is BUT P'Aof ive got a bone to pick with you.
He literally created a brand new problem (Pat jumping to help Pran without letting him do it on his own) something that wasn't an issue in the OG show but it now is (which makes sense when you think about it especially given their impending separation because of singapore and both of them needing to learn to be separate individuals) and then solved another that didn't need to be solved, like wth was that about Pat "admitting" that he can't live without Pran, as if its brand new information, as if its something that he's insecure about, as if he's worried that its only him and that Pran won't feel the same way?
we're literally talking about the guy who was ready to throw away his family and friends and halt his entire education just so he could run away and live with you in a zero waste village away from all that he knew and was familiar with?? the same guy who said "i can be anywhere as long as im with you", the guy who has always been there alongside him, fighting WITH him, FOR him...Pat KNOWS that...and Pran knows that Pat knows that....thats what the whole ep11 was about! Them being the most SOLID, in love, 'if he goes down i go down with him', we're a team couple-couple there ever was! Both of them know of how much the other loves them, how their love is so strong it can withstand anything! they know that, their lives, their words, their actions, their choices have proved that!! so the grand declaration in this episode is basically the same thing we already know, we got NOTHING new.
at the same time the conflict that was actually relevant, that Pat thinks Pran needs his help when really Pat needs Pran to need him, he wants to always be the one to help him and Pran's need to do things on his own and prove to himself that he could do shiz by himself like he had all through his life before Pat and him met in college again. Pran needed to do things alone for himself and Pat needed to take a step back and let him do his own thing knowing that he got this. That was the conflict and that's what should have been addressed and instead we got a whole episode of unnecessary confusion and separating the two couples and i cant believe the realest 2 convos happened when Pat and Pran weren't even in the same premises.
and don't even get me started on Pran feeling insecure that Pat was the one sacrificing the most like hello? they both have sacrificed equally, its just Pat is the more vocal and ever ready to express affection with words and very obvious actions so from an outsiders pov Pat looks like he's carrying the relationship which he is not and YET like hello Pat is the one who feels that he can't admit that he cant live without Pran? the same guy who yelled out his love in front of the entire architecture branch? the same guy who wanted to flaunt their whole relationship on social media? the guy who from the day he discovered that he had feelings for Pran has almost made his entire personality about being in love with Pran Pat? that Pat?
but also that scene of Pran just looking on as Pat tries to put on the remedy cream bruh aint no way yall playing me Pran would NEVER watch on like that for so damn long without taking a single effort to help like aint no way hello who the hell was calling the shots, was P'aof even around cos if so sir HOW COULD YOU !?
ep 1 was underwhelming but ep2 had so much going for it but then ep3 was so meh and actually sorta undermines the OG by pretending that this "i can't live without you" is a HUGE thing when WE ALL KNEW IT, like WHY P'Aof, WHY YOU DO THIS TO US? Why to Pat & Pran? And pls the way this episode did next to NOTHING for phupha & Tian, its actually insane.
Despite today's disappointment i do (semi) trust P'Aof and i hope he ties it all up as clean as possible tomorrow and if nothing happens i will pretend this whole special was an AU and move on with my life. that being said we better get that finger sucking scene cos baby i didn't watch this special for ALL of that. Except for that scene in the house that withstood the "shake", the whole endeavor added NOTHING to the story of Pat-Pran and i will be mad about this. It's like they made the Taj Mahal and then decided to pour blood all over it and like yeah the blood can be washed away but why tarnish the glorious monument in the first place!?? for whomstttttttttt
#paof i need answers#its like he shot them with a bullet#and then tried to solve it by sucking the poison out#except there's no poison#and we didnt get no finger sucking either#ooh im mad#patpran#our skyy 2 x bad buddy x a tale of thousand stars#bad buddy

Rebels Rewatch: "Legacy of Mandalore"
A Mandalorian family reunion!
Live reaction version from 2017.
I do find it hilarious that the kids are in the front seats, driving and co-piloting, while the adults are hanging out in the back.
Ezra's little, "Wait a minute." moment lol.
Nice to hear this bit of spoken Mando'a.
Chopper banging on the outside of the Phantom II with his manipulators lol.
Remember what I said last rewatch about how the two of them develop into co-protagonists? Part of that seems to be that they start spending more time in the cockpit together. :)

~Under cloud, beneath the stars... over snoooooooow one winter's morn.~
*ahem* Pardon me there, visiting Krownest always puts those lyrics in my head.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The snow clumps being shaken off the tops of the trees as they're passing.

"Don't worry, I'll play nice."
Ah yes, one of the parts of the episode that almost seems like it's playing Ezra off as Sabine's "problem boyfriend" that she's bringing home to meet mom and dad. <3
So it was definitely the Supercommando armor that set Ezra off.
I do not know what it is but Disney has been pulling some really weird shit regarding age order of siblings lately, Tristan does not look like he's the younger sibling at all.
Also Isabella and Luisa should be totally switched around, c'mon.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: How their feet actually sink into the snow with realistic weight and powder compression.

Love the design of the Wren stronghold. Very Modern Architecture.

I love him. <3
Takes Sabine promising that the lightsabers will be safe before Ezra decides to give his up. (And yet later in the climax he doesn't even hesitate to throw it to her, aaaaaah!)

Don't mind me, just appreciating the design of this place.
Ursa sounds an awful lot like Fenn "I made a deal with the Empire to survive" Rau here. I doubt the parallels aren't deliberate.
So I guess the takeaway lesson is don't make deals with the evil empire because it will always screw you over.

*whispers* If no supposed to ship why have Ezra being adorkable towards Sabine's brother just like Kanan was adorkable at Hera's father?

Really can't get over the scenery in this episode it's so soft and pretty.
Ursa was so ready to be impressed that her babygirl kicked Maul's ass and so disappointed when that wasn't the case lol.
Does seem like Sabine had a difficult childhood even before the whole Dutchess fiasco. Maybe that was why she decided to go to the Imperial Academy in the first place? Who knows.
My genre-savvy called a lot of the beats this episode, which made it just a smidge predictable for me the first time around.
Not gonna lie, Rau sneaking through the complex is actually kind of hilarious.

I'll bet Alrich painted that for her. :)
Ngl, the dialogue in this scene is just a bit weirdly written, I dunno what it is but it bugs me.
Ezra's so proud that Sabine kicked Gar Saxon's ass lol.

Underappreciated Papa Wolf Kanan moment: Shielding Ezra from the guardsman's blasters.
You know I don't wonder why Sabine latched onto the Ghost crew as her new family, high-ranking Mandalorian clans seem overly obsessed with prestige.
Tristan is a blabbermouth lol, still can't get over that.

Oh man this expression. She must feel like she's relieving her family's disowning all over again.
*chanting* Don't make deals with the devil, don't make deals with the devil.
Saxon is a master at finding loopholes isn't he?
I don't think this brief fakeout from Tristan was necessary, I think he should have just immediately turned guns on Saxon from the beginning.
Nice to hear Sabine's theme in the score tho.
LOLOL IT STILL CRACKS ME UP HOW FENN RAU JUST BURSTS THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOW ALL, "SURPRISE, BITCHES!"

<333333
This moment made the episode for me.
Zero hesitation, complete trust and faith. He loves her so much omg.
Oooooh a nice rendition of the Force Theme here!

(Told y'all it became a running gag.)

Problem boyfriend so worried. <3
Sabine's theme is in french horns now, it sounds like. This iteration of the theme is less mournful and more action-oriented, with flute trills and timpani percussion.
The cracking ice is mostly symbolic I think. I did worry at the time of airing if someone was going to wind up falling in.
Sabine using basic lightsaber positions like Kanan and Ezra taught her. <3
...Was it implied that Sabine hacked off Saxon's arm there or...? Camera angle makes it difficult to discern.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Saxon winds up in a position like Dooku's or the Grand Inquisitor's in the Season One finale, lightsaber blades held crossed at their throats.
But Sabine, having been heavily influenced by the Jedi in her life, chooses mercy over revenge. The moment is even punctuated by a snippet of the Force Theme. Aaaaaaaah I love it, I love that Sabine has let Kanan's influence soak into her so much, has become so much more Jedi than Mandalorian and been made better for it.
Oh, his arm's intact, okay then.
I have... Thoughts™ about the entire Mandalorian mindset of needing chaos to become strong and refusing outside help to fight its battles and how the whole Proud Warrior Race thing so often works against them rather than for them but I'll leave them unsaid for now.

<33333
This status quo change was honestly completely unexpected, and frankly, the episode is eons better for it.
Sabine's theme is in a triumphant key now, as she watches the Phantom II leave.

:((((
So! This episode is not nearly as good as the previous one, and it's bit predictable, as I said. It's not bad, though, and it's obviously a necessary one for Sabine's growth and character arc, and the overall Mandalorian arc. I was weirdly a little bored this time? Aside from the cute Sabezra bits and the fact that they were bold enough to change up the status quo by having Sabine stay on Krownest, I really feel like this could have been so much stronger as an episode.
Maybe if we axed one of the fillers and made this a two-parter? Idk.
The episode is still decently entertaining enough and has lots of lovely quality Sabine content for those in fandom whose primary investment is her. She gets to really shine here, and show off how far she's come as a character. Which is great.
I think at the time there was a genuine worry that Sabine was being written out of the show. I know I needed a little bit of time to process the thought of her being absent the next couple episodes. But again, they made a narrative choice and stuck with it and I admire that. So I really can't hate this episode. :)
Of course next time we're at my favorite episode of the season and the whole inspiration for an accidentally giant-ass AU that I wrote. See y'all then!

What is Zero Trust Architecture?

Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) is a security model that operates on the principle "never trust, always verify." Unlike traditional security models that assume everything within a network is trustworthy, ZTA requires verification for every access request, regardless of whether it originates inside or outside the network.
Why is it Important?
In today's digital landscape, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Zero Trust Architecture helps mitigate risks by continuously verifying every user and device, ensuring that only authorized entities can access sensitive information.
How Does It Protect You?
1. Enhanced Security: By requiring strict verification, ZTA minimizes the risk of unauthorized access and data breaches.
2. Reduced Attack Surface: Limiting access to only what is necessary decreases potential entry points for attackers.
3. Real-time Monitoring: Continuous monitoring and verification help detect and respond to threats promptly.
Adopt Zero Trust Architecture with Century Solutions Group to fortify your cybersecurity defenses and protect your business from evolving cyber threats! #ZeroTrust #CyberSecurity #CenturySolutionsGroup

Edge Computing in 2025: Enhancing Real-Time Data Processing and IoT Integration
As someone who's worked in tech through multiple waves of transformation, it's clear: edge computing is no longer a buzzword—it’s the backbone of real-time digital infrastructure in 2025.
Whether you're deploying thousands of IoT sensors in a smart factory or running AI models at the edge in a hospital, the need to process data closer to the source is more critical than ever. Cloud is still important, but latency, bandwidth, and privacy concerns have pushed us to rethink how and where we compute.
Let’s unpack what’s changed—and what edge computing really looks like in 2025.
What Edge Computing Means Today
Back in the day, we pushed everything to the cloud. It worked—for a while. But with the explosion of IoT, AI workloads, and real-time demands, we hit a wall. Edge computing evolved as a response.
In 2025, edge computing means:
Real-time decisions without cloud dependency
Smarter endpoints (not just data collectors)
Integrated security, orchestration, and AI at the edge
The Shift: From Centralized to Distributed
In practice, this means pushing compute, storage, and intelligence to where the data is generated. It could be:
A camera on a highway
A robotic arm on a factory floor
A health monitor on a patient
This shift reduces latency from seconds to milliseconds—and that can mean the difference between insight and incident.
Real-World Use Cases I’ve Seen
Here are some real-world examples I’ve worked with or seen evolve:
Manufacturing
Quality inspection cameras running AI locally
Predictive maintenance models analyzing vibration data in real time
Healthcare
Edge-based diagnostic devices reducing hospital visit times
Secure, compliant local data processing for patient monitoring
Automotive
Vehicles using onboard compute for real-time navigation and hazard detection
V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) running on edge networks at traffic lights
Smart Cities
Real-time traffic management using edge video analytics
Waste bins alerting pickups when full—processed on-site
What’s Driving This Shift in 2025?
A few key forces are accelerating edge computing:
5G deployment has made edge even faster and more practical
AI hardware has gotten cheaper and smaller (NVIDIA Jetson, Coral, etc.)
Cloud-native edge tools like KubeEdge and Open Horizon make orchestration manageable
Businesses want real-time insights without sending everything to the cloud
But What About Security?
Security used to be the biggest barrier. In 2025, we're seeing more mature edge security practices:
Zero Trust at the edge
Built-in TPMs and secure boot
AI models detecting threats locally before they propagate
Security at the edge is still a challenge—but it’s more manageable now, especially with standardized frameworks and edge-specific IAM tools.
Final Thoughts
If you’re still thinking of edge computing as a future trend, it’s time to recalibrate. In 2025, edge is mainstream—and it's how smart, connected systems are built.
As someone who’s deployed both cloud and edge architectures, I’ve learned this: the best strategy today isn’t “cloud vs. edge,” it’s “cloud + edge.” You need both to build fast, reliable, scalable systems.
Edge computing isn’t just an optimization—it's a requirement for real-time digital transformation.
