“Never take me lightly, silly fool.”
-
Lilia's scene from chapter 25 of And You Think, “No Escape” by @therosefrontier has lived rent free in my mind and also irrevocably changed my perception of Lilia's in-game little victory line for the battles/exams. (The whole fic lives rent free, but I particularly wanted to come back and draw Lilia for this one, because Lilia is a terrifying badass and he deserves it.)
I won't say too much here (though I may ramble in the tags) so as to not spoil one of the finale scenes that much but it's a really good fic, high recommend.

" Good. We're on the same page then aren't we? "
Sumire doesn't care to put up the falsities she normally does for people, not in front of someone who desires the very same thing as her, killing the bastard Shido Masayoshi. Sure it's for their own separate reasons but they still want to kill him nonetheless no? Someone who sees an enemy of hers as an enemy of theirs is someone she can get along just fine with without her innocent act.

" I must say though... you're certain you want to do this? I can't have someone being a loose end should they decide to chicken out on me after this point, so don't take this as me thinking you're weak because I know you're far from that, but more so asking if you want to keep going. There is no turning back if you say you're certain. Don't think I won't kill you if you try to cross me. " As much as she has... come to like him, it doesn't mean she'll hesitate to pull the cord and pop a bullet into him should he try anything funny or back out.
She's shown him trust to some degree afterall, and she doesn't take kindly to those who betray her trust.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers!
tagged by @extraordinarilyextreme 🕺🏻
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 86… wow! 61 of them are from the past 3 years (2020-2023) and then the other 25 span from (2011-2019) (would not recommend)
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 827,446!
3. What fandoms do you write for? Right now I’m writing mainly for Oz and 成化十四年 (if you count a very slooooow moving WIP). Other fandoms: X-Men comics, Hamlet, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, HxH, Need for Speed, Avengers, 狂飙, TWD, and Nikita (lol). I have also written for a couple fandoms that I left behind in my ffnet days/orphaned works for on ao3.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
We Who Have The Souls (part 3 of a series) - HxH - Hisoka/Illumi Zoldyck (681 kudos)
The Horror Not To Be Surveyed (part 1 of a series) - HxH - Hisoka/Illumi Zoldyck (660 kudos)
Amethyst Remembrance (part 2 of a series) - HxH - Illumi Zoldyck & Killua Zoldyck (483 kudos)
Suppositions - The Walking Dead - Daryl Dixon/Glenn (444 kudos)
Ash is Purest White - 成化十四年 - Ding Rong/Wang Zhi (179 kudos)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Once I actually started participating in fandom, I realised that this was something people strive to do, so I try to respond more now as well. Previously I did not respond to comments because I didn’t like how Ao3 counts author comments in the number of comments/reviews a fic had. I used to want to know exactly how many other people commented on my fic, probably because I got so few comments lol, and then it was just a habit not to reply. I try harder to reply now because I also like it when authors reply to my comments :)
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? LOL major character death fic, When Tomorrow Comes, EASILY. I legit cried while cooking when I was making dinner during the time that I was writing this. The masochism was real but the sadism was realer (making the group chat reap what they sowed lol)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hm! I have a couple that are rather fluffy but I would say the harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun (yeah yeah... hozier lyric title. sue me). They get married~
8. Do you get hate on fics? I tend to write small ships and rarepairs, so I think that’s sort of impossible tbh. I did get flamed a couple of times on ffnet back in those days, but... the joke was on the ppl flaming me, probably. You were expecting greatness from a 12 year old.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I write really cringe explicit scenes (not on purpose... that’s just how they turn out imo) but I've nver written pwp or anything.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? We shan’t speak of it and you’ll never find it, either.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of… again, I don’t really write stuff that gets on anyone’s radar, I don’t think.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! I have had 5 fics translated into Russian and one translated into Chinese! <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? The crossover that shall not be named.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I know my url is literally rongzhi but believe me when I say I don't have one lol
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? (puts head in my hands) I don’t want to way I won’t finish things but I have multiple rongzhi wips still on the back burner (I’m committed to finishing at least ONE of them for sure)… Ugh, but of the fics I've already started posting, I doubt I’ll ever finish The Nineteenth Year of Chenghua or after the autumn breeze. Sadly, I was a little too ambitious about starting both multi-chapter fics. I’m more broken up about the former though, because it is EXACTLY my cup of tea… as a reader! Lol. I don't know... Maybe... I have bits and pieces written but 🙄
16. What are your writing strengths? I wanna say uhhhh dialogue?? According to trusted sources (much screaming and cursing), I have also been known to write some pretty devastating angst!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description for sure… Plot… sometimes, if there is one… Probably not the best…
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'll write other languages into the dialogue of a fic if it's in character/appropriate. I don't see any issue in that—only issue is for ME... if I don't speak the language, I have to research how to make it not sound too machine translated, because I know how silly that will come across to native/fluent speakers if they read it. Even for my cfandom fics, there are some words like honorifics that I just romanise because I don't like to translate them to whatever the eng subs say.
19. First fandom you wrote for? I wrote Harry Potter fanfic in third grade before I knew what fanfic was, I guess. And then I wrote Harry Potter x Twilight fanfic in middle school once I did ... No, I do not come from noble beginnings... No, the HPxTwi crossovers are not the one that shall not be named. I also wrote a lot of X-men (comics) fanfic before I knew what fic was!
20. Favorite fic you've written? HMMM… Kind of partial to Bolt From The Blue (Is it bc Susu has gassed me up about it so much? Who can say?) (jk, I am very proud of that one and I did enjoy write it a lot!). More recently, I really like writing In the Blink of an Eye, just because it was in 2nd person which I haven’t written since my Homestuck days (you’ll never find those fics either). It was just fun to write!

Daily Devotionals for April 29, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 15:10-12(KJV): 10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. 11 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more than the hearts of the children of men? 12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise. Proverbs 15:10-12(Amp): 10 There is severe discipline for him who forsakes God's way, and he who hates reproof will die (physically, morally, and spiritually). 11 Sheol (the place of the dead) and Abaddon (the abyss, the final place of the accuser Satan) both are before the Lord; how much more than the hearts of the children of men? 12 A scorner has no love for one who rebukes him, neither will he go to the wise (for counsel).
Thought for the Day
Verse 10 - Correction and reproof keep a man on the path of life. Just as a child requires correction to learn the things that will help him grow and mature properly, we all need the correction of our heavenly Father to avoid the things that can destroy us. Notice that the death spoken of is physical, moral, and spiritual. All who are without Christ are spiritually dead, though they do not know it. Only with Christ and by His guidance can we safely journey through this life.
"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)" (Ephesians 2:1-6).
Verse 11 - If hell and the place of the dead are visible to God, how much more are men's hearts visible to Him? We may be able to deceive people into thinking that we are good Christians, but God sees our hearts. If we are not walking in the truth, He knows it. We will reap what we sow. If we belong to Christ, our lives should show it.
Verse 12 - Fools despise correction and their pride keeps them from coming to the wise ones for guidance. Their lusts and desires lead them. If they do not repent and turn to Jesus, their end will be hell. The Lord does not desire that anyone should perish, but because He has given each of us the gift of free will, we choose whom we serve, either God or Satan. We may think we can choose to serve ourselves, but this is not an option. If we serve ourselves, we are serving Satan. God has given us, His children, the task of sharing the Gospel with those around us so that they will have the opportunity to accept Christ as their Savior and escape hell (2 Peter 3:9). May we welcome the Lord's correction so that we will not open the door for Satan to attack us through our rebellion and sin. May we also pray for and witness to the lost so that they may be saved and escape the torments of hell.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Father God, thank you that You are a good Father to me. Deliver me of any rebellion that would cause me to ignore Your leading in my life. Strengthen and help me, so that I will always be an obedient child. I do appreciate Your patience toward me. Give me patience with those around me who do not know You. Let me share the gospel in love with each of them. Thank you, for delivering me from hell. I am grateful for the promise of Your presence with me in this life and the promise of heaven to come. Lord, watch over all of Your children and keep us from evil. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. From: Steven P. The Parable of the Ten Virgins
1 “Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made: ‘Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.’
7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, ‘Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out.’
9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Not so, lest there be not enough for us and you; but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.’
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us!’
12 But he answered and said, ‘Verily I say unto you, I know you not.’
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.
The Parable of the Talents
14 “For the Kingdom of Heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his several ability, and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them another five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained another two.
18 But he that had received one went and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and reckoned with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought the other five talents, saying, ‘Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents. Behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.’
21 His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’
22 “He also that had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.’
23 His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’
24 “Then he that had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strewed.
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth. Lo, there thou hast what is thine.’
26 His lord answered and said unto him, ‘Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed.
27 Thou ought therefore to have placed my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with interest.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that hath not, shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man shall come in His glory and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory.
32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations, and He shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I hungered, and ye gave Me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took Me in;
36 naked, and ye clothed Me; I was sick, and ye visited Me; I was in prison, and ye came unto Me.’
37 Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when saw we Thee hungering and fed Thee, or thirsty and gave Thee drink?
38 When saw we Thee a stranger and took Thee in, or naked and clothed Thee?
39 Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?’
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.’
41 “Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I hungered, and ye gave Me no meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave Me no drink;
43 I was a stranger, and ye took Me not in; naked, and ye clothed Me not; sick and in prison, and ye visited Me not.’
44 Then shall they also answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when saw we Thee hungering or athirst or a stranger, or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister unto Thee?’
45 Then shall He answer them, saying, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to Me.’
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal.” — Matthew 25 | 21st Century King James Version (KJV21) The Holy Bible; 21st Century King James Version Copyright © 1994 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. - 2 Corinthians 9:6-9 KJV
How many of us have ever started a garden before? It is common knowledge that if we only sow a few seeds, we might not get the result we hope for. In this Bible passage, Paul was talking about their generosity to support other Christian communities that were in need. However, as important it was and is important for all of us to support missionary activities, both at home and in countries where there are missionaries at work, we should also consider this in light of the parable of the sower. The more we spread the seeds of faith to those around us, the greater will be the harvest of believers.
It is not just the role of the missionaries to spread the Good News that is the Gospel Truth, it is the job of all the baptized. Money is important, that's true, if those who are sent into mission fields will have the resources necessary to help, as those fields are generally in impoverished areas often without clean water, enough food or medical equipment. Jesus Christ knows and reminds us that we have a responsibility to the body as well as to the soul, and that it is difficult for someone to listen when they are hungry or homeless. Paul is asking everyone to give according to one's means and to sow the seeds of faith bountifully. God endows us with faith and asks us to be humble and generous in sharing it. He gives us what we need and asks us to share as we are able. May He also give us a spirit of generosity, so that we can share the Good News of the Gospel worldwide and also provide the means necessary for others to hear it. If even the Son of God was a servant of Father God Almighty, it's vital that we ourselves must also willfully and faithfully consent to love and serve Him and to help all those in need.
Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for calling us to Him and to serve Him. May He equip us to do all that He has called us to do so that as He works through us, He may use us to produce fruit, to reach others, and to encourage all brothers and sisters in Christ. May He work all of these things in us and through us for His Kingdom and His glory. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all His creation, for His miraculous ways and for everything He does and has done for us! Keep the faith and keep moving forward in your walk with Jesus!
Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His Holy Word and for sending His Holy Spirit so that we might have His grace, not only to awaken us and transform our hearts in our spiritual rebirth and guarantee our eternity with Him, but to also call upon Him whenever we are in need. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all the reminders of His love and mercy and faithfulness within His Holy Word. He is bigger than any challenge or circumstance in our lives. Knowing this within our minds and our hearts, nothing can deter our faith in Him and His Truth. May we all accept Him and His eternal gift of salvation and ask that He would transform our hearts and lives according to His will and ways. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His Holy Spirit who saves, seals and leads us. May we always thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His almighty power and saving grace. For He is our strength, and He alone is able to save us, forgive our sins and gift us eternal salvation and entry into His Kingdom of Heaven.
May we make sure that we give our hearts and lives to God and take time to seek and praise Him and share His Truth with the world daily. May the LORD our God and Father in Heaven help us to stay diligent and obedient and help us to guard our hearts in Him and His Holy Word daily. May He help us to remain faithful and full of excitement to do our duty to Him and for His glorious return and our reunion in Heaven as well as all that awaits us there. May we never forget to thank the LORD our God and our Creator and Father in Heaven for all this and everything He does and has done for us! May we never forget who He is, nor forget who we are in Christ and that God is always with us! What a mighty God we serve! What a Savior this is! What a wonderful Lord, God, Savior and King we have in Jesus Christ! What a loving Father we have found in Almighty God! What a wonderful God we serve! His will be done!
Thanks and glory be to God! Blessed be the name of the LORD! Hallelujah and Amen!

How to prepare your heart for revival Part 4/4
Examining your own heart Hosea 12:10
Break up the fallow ground;
Breaking- humble yourself before the Lord.
Confess that your heart has become hard, fallow, and shallow.
Acknowledge it is your own responsibility to break up the fallow ground.
Ask for his help and guidance in the breaking – the Holy Spirit will assist us.
Confess all known sin-all the usual suspects- found in the Ten Commandments
Include unforgiveness, bitterness, grudges, and resentment- then forsake them.
Examine your heart...
Examine your heart for unbelief.
Examine your heart for prayerlessness.
A sinning man stops praying, a praying man stops sinning [1].
Examine your heart for the lost.
Examine the priorities of your heart.
Is your first priority in the material world?
Is your first priority in human relationships?
Is your first real priority to get money, power, or possessions?
Is your heart, seeking first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness knowing that all these things shall be added unto you?
What are you living for? Who are you living for?
Next, deal also with the questionable things in your life. It might not be outright sin, but does it glorify God?
Examine your friendships and associations –do they please God?
Develop convictions to protect yourself from falling into sin.
Convictions help integrate our hearts (inward) with our actions (outward)
Job made a covenant with his eyes [2]......
For it is time to seek the Lord;
Seeking – the time to seek God is now –the time to seek his face is now- the time to seek his face in faith is now- believing he wants you to find him now.
It is God’s will for you to find him- when you seek him with all your heart.
Til he comes and rains righteousness on you, Persisting- how long O Lord?
Persist until he comes – he will certainly come if we persist.
If we focus on the persisting –He will focus on his coming-
Yes, the very presence of the living God will come down on you- History testifies to this in the Lewis revival.
Prepare ye the way of the Lord in your own heart- remove every obstacle – and bring the presence of the living God in a new way into your heart.
God wants to do a new thing in your heart today.
Raining-Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high [3]
And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field.
And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.
God wants your heart to be an orchard.
God promised to pour out his Spirit on the dry and thirsty ground[4]
He promised that the crocus and the rose would bloom in the desert place.
Imagine fragrant flowers and sweet fruit trees in planted in the soil of your heart.
God desires to breathe in your fragrance.
God desires to taste the sweet fruit of your character.
Jeremiah says, ‘break up your fallow ground and do not sow amongst thorns.’
Conclusion
The reason we do not have revival is that we are willing to live without it. [5]
The alternative to revival is progressive decline into barrenness.
Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
Let us bring the plough of God’s word into the fallow grounds of our hearts today asking God to empower the plough by his Holy Spirit and that he shows us exactly what needs to be removed.
Are you willing to break the fallow ground in your heart? are you willing to be made willing?
God is willing and God is able to help each one of us break up our own fallow ground.
Amen

FIC COMPLETED!
Summary:
"No! No, mummmmyyyy!" A child's piteous, shrill cry rent the air, "Mummmyyyyy!"
Little Sarah Sanderson was screaming at the top of her lungs, absolutely hysterical as she and both her siblings desperately struggled in an iron grip. Their skinny arms were easily held behind their backs by a couple of jeering townpeople, effectively immobilising the children while they were cruelly forced to witness the imminent disaster from the front row.
The setting sun's soft, warm beams made their beloved mother cast a long shadow as she walked by them with empty eyes, each step bringing her inevitably closer to meeting her untimely demise at the gallows.
What, pray tell, is to become of the young Sanderson sisters?

Luke 12:22-34 KJV
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Feelings Chapter 32
AO3
The memory of justice for Sara and Fergus, lingers. They work on getting past it, knowing as awful as it was, it was necessary.

With a harvest due in and growing families, there isn’t much time to dwell on it.

Ethan is soon walking and following his sister and brother around. They take him around as eggs are gathered, cows milked. Then, he is left with Claire as they do chores that aren’t safe for him to be about for.

Both children are learning to shoe the horses, to muck the stalls and repair the fences.

“Julia needs to know how to do all, well most, of what Fergus does.” Jamie explains to Claire. She sits rocking Ethan to sleep, “I want our daughter to be as capable as our son. The world is a dangerous place, after all.”

Both think of the late Ray Grant, buried in the back field, ironically not far from where Sara was found.

“That it is. I am glad you are teaching her to handle herself. Their skills have come in handy.”

He looks at their sleeping son and smiles.

“A year later on and it still amazes me that they delivered him. If she can handle that at 10, I guess I shouldn’t worry to much about her ability to handle a crisis.”

“She does have a good head on her shoulders. They both do. Still, they need prepared.”

Julia is turning into a real beauty.  At eleven, she is tall with her daddy’s  red curls flowing down her back and his piercing blue eyes. Jamie has been approached by potential suitors already. They both want her to marry for love.

“Not until she is eighteen.” Her mama insists, when told about them, “I want her to have a childhood and time to learn her own mind.”

Jamie agrees.

“No one would dare touch her.” He says, “they would find themselves buried.”

There are rumors. No one says anything to Jamie directly. But the rumors float around. Everyone believes he deserved his fate. No one faults their Laird for doing as he had to. Many, if not most, would do the same.

“As ye sow, so shall ye reap.” Is the natural order of things, after all.

To bother the Laird’ s daughter, the young Lady Fraser, is unthinkable. Still, she is developing into a beauty. Her daddy shall teach her to hunt. He tells her mama as much.

“Good, I trust you to make sure she doesn’t shoot herself or anyone else.” She lays Ethan in his cradle and climbs into bed.

“I shall take the children out tomorrow.” He decides joining her in bed. His daughter will know how to shoot. How to use a dirk as well. He nods, satisfied, and wraps himself around his wife.

Chapter 9-Chrono Story; Scene 6
Original Sin Story: Punishment, pages 194-199
“—And that’s all that I know,” Lich said, bringing his story to a close.
There were many things that Nyoze wanted to ask about, but first and foremost—
“Elluka…She was alive!?”
“The woman you spoke of, and the sorceress that I witnessed…I don’t know if they’re the same person, but I am certain without a doubt that that was the name Held called her by.”
“Right, so there’s a chance that she’s someone else…Actually, the odds of that are probably higher than the alternative.”
“Why do you think that?”
“First, I verified Elluka’s dead body with my own eyes. That at least I’m sure of, she did die. Though naturally…maybe a god could bring her back to life…”
LeviaBehemo had enticed Kiril to the “Sin” using that as a pretext.
Only, that had been nothing more than a lure. It was somewhat doubtful that LeviaBehemo actually had the power to resurrect a dead person.
If they were able to do that, LeviaBehemo would have easily taken possession of the bodies of “Twins of God” a long time ago.
There was one other thing that didn’t coincide between the Elluka that Nyoze had known and the woman who’d appeared in Lich’s story.
“This ‘swap technique’…It’s a very high-grade spell. It’s said there’s hardly anyone who can use it. They would need to have a considerable amount of magical power—”
“You’re saying Elluka did not have that much power?”
“…I can’t say anything for certain. Her ability was high enough to make her suitable for queen. But from what I investigated during the queen selection process, I never found any indication anywhere that Elluka could use the ‘swap technique’.”
“It could be that your investigation wasn’t thorough enough. Is there a chance that she skillfully hid it from you?”
“You say that, but still—”
Now that the Magic Kingdom was destroyed, there was no way to know for certain.
There had indeed been rumors that the shrine maidens of Lighwatch would commune with Held.
But Elluka had given up being a shrine maiden, and in his research he had found no evidence that she had left the country at the time.
“It might be fastest just to meet with this sorceress directly…Lich, do you know where she is now?”
“I can only move about inside this forest. So it’s impossible for me to follow the whereabouts of anyone who leaves it.”
“I see…”
Speaking of people who had left the forest, he was also concerned about what became of those twins.
But of course, this too was something Lich didn’t know.
“Not if they’re alive, nor if they’re dead. …Though, now that they’ve already unleashed the ‘Demons of Deadly Sin’, there’s no point in you hunting those twins down and killing them, yes?”
“I…suppose so.”
“The ‘Demons of Deadly Sin’ will bring destruction…Assuming that your brother’s words are true, then it’s only rational that you should work to recover them, just like that sorceress.”
“Are you…okay with that? These ‘Demons of Deadly Sin’ are your friends, after all.”
“I have no memories. I’m not friend or foe to you. If you’re too discouraged to go on, that’s fine with me too. Even if you find the demons, recover them, and destroy them, then they’re just reaping what they sow.”
“…”
“Well, if a time ever comes where I leave here someday…I hope that it doesn’t result in me having to oppose you.”
Lich looked up.
A beautiful blue sky lay above them.
“Shall we bring this to a close now?” he uttered. “This is probably the first time I’ve ever spoken this long with a human. Most ordinary people tell each other that I’m mischievous, and so will run away from me out of fear.”
“Do the other animals really speak as you do? For example, that…bear that you mentioned in your story, Eater.”
“No. None of the older inhabitants of this forest can understand human speech, nor can they speak it themselves.”
“I see. I’d probably be able to get quite a lot of information if I were able to converse with them.”
“I would keep it to a minimum. Held isn’t as peaceful a being as humans imagine he is. If you pry too closely, you might incur his wrath.”
“I’ll bear that in mind, thank you.”
“Well then—farewell, human.”
At that, Lich flew off into the sky.
.
……
………
.
…Or, he was going to.
The black bird once more landed before Nyoze.
“What’s wrong? Did you forget something?” Nyoze asked.
“No…I have one last present to offer you, it seems.”
“…?”
“Or to be more specific, I suppose I should say it’s information. When I looked down from up in the sky just now…I happened to see her. That woman, walking through the forest.”
That woman—
He didn’t need to ask who.
.
It was Elluka Clockworker.

WIP Wednesday
Was tagged by @undyingembers, so i guess i will post a translation of a tidbit from my most recent chapter of World of Quest fanfic "What I Sow I Shall Reap", because it WAS still a WIP on Wednesday :D Sorry in advance for my grammar ^^'
"Wait, you're the "diplomatic mission leaded by a royal bra-" in the very same moment when prince's eyes began to wide, Meriaen bursted into a coughing fit. It sounded pretty fake, "By His Highness, who told my parents to shove their money where suns don't shine?!"
"Alright, that's enough," Quest left the table in a decisive stride, "We should be returning to the business at hand, not chit-chating with some offsprings of an aristocracy."
The other members of the team, eager to leave the conversation which suddenly bacame awkward, followed his lead and went to the restaurant's exit. But someone decided to not back down:
"You have misunderstood me!" von Rithe Jr. rushed forward, blocking team's path, "I am actually in awe with you! Honestly, it is about time somebody told them off..."
"Yes, right after those somebody spent all day on completing the count and countess' mission and received absolutely nothing in return, because someone among those somebody suddenly decided to become pain in the butt, am i correct, runt?" Quest rudely, although not too hard pushed the girl away, clearing the path once again.
The runt in question looked like he wanted to say something, but haven't found the words yet, and then the time was up.
"Hey, who taught you to talk to a lady like that, you yok-?!" raged the girl in a way that was very similar to another high-born midget, before she abruptly stopped herself. Instead of crossing their path again, Meriaen simply tagged along with the team, "I propose a mutually beneficial exchange!"
"What, your allowance can buy a whole army, titmouse? I don't think so," said Quest without turning his head.
The girl pouted even more, but nonetheless continued:
"It's Meriaen. You see, i am, too, on a very important mission!"
"What kind of a mission?" suddenly inquired Anna.
Realizing that the team had almost reached the exit, von Rithe once again jumped forward, trying to slow down their advance:
"It's… a secret*! But!" Meriaen put her hand to her face, like she wanted to whisper conspiratorially, "I will share it with you, if you promise to take me with you to the Saywer's Sepulchre!
"Not interested. We already have one little girl and one little boy, we are out of space," the swordsman indeed stopped in his tracks, looking very displeased, and started to glare at the "interruption", letting her know that he won't stand here for long.
"I am not a little boy!" angrily shouted Nestor in a middle of this sudden hitch.
"Fine, we already have two little girls, see, we are filled to the brim," quiet chuckles, as well as angry snuffling, were heard behind the Quest.
"And if i say that it's about the dirty deeds of Their Excellencies and the discrediting evidence, that you, for example," the titmouse put her hands on her hips, elbows wide apart and raised her eyebrows, defiantly staring into the warrior's eyes, "Can use to put some pressure on them?
"What kind of a daughter turns in her parents just like that?" asked a completely stunned Nestor, when he stepped to the right side of his bodyguard.
"I suppose… a very dissapointed one, Your Royal Highness?" Meriaen spreaded her hands briefly before placing them back on her hips, "Besides… who in Odyssia even remotely likes my parents, except for them? And I'm also willing to pay you if it's necessary-"
Suddenly the tall doors behind her, despite their considerable weight, instantly swung open wide, and behind them the group saw the questers' missing member:
"Of course it's necessary, and I am signin up!" Graer's smile turned into an expression of confusion, and he scratched the back of his head with his paw, "What's need to be done, anyway?"
