#what you seek is seeking you. (headcanon)
I think a lot about Leo’s tendency to push his way into the spotlight despite clearly being a natural in the shadows. Hell, you could argue that his worst moments are when he’s forcing himself onstage, and his best are when he does things no one notices until it’s already been done.

homestuck is just one of those fandoms where i hate almost all of the big blogs. not even necessarily because of their opinions, but more because every one of them is so adamant that their interpretation is the only valid interpretation and if you don't agree you're bigoted/unable to read/stupid etc. and then they start a week of discourse over someone's offhand comment, and yeah they act like a clique of mean girls. over fucking homestuck.
also some of them are so weird about trans men

I've only now noticed Eva Yan's scars on your drawings of her, is there any story or headcanon behind them?
keeping it real babygirl [gender neutral] the story is that this woman canonically kills herself, canonically contemplates suicide, quite explicitly mentioning the method she intents on using to you (with implications that she has, at the very least, thought about it/thought it through before), and lives with broken mirrors so she cannot (/doesn't have to) see her face like i just think She Is Mentally Unwell. like as a long-term, enduring, persistent thing, She Is Mentally Unwell and the plague is just worsening her condition, while it didn't cause it. the storey/headcanon is that she is mentally ill, openly and canonically has self-destructive tendencies, so. the scars are here because she lives with a lil something something in her mind which drives her to plenty of destructive acts in ways big and small. ywkim

nobody asked but i want everyone to know that when i draw karlach doing a happy tail thrash, it's stimming. i'm drawing her happy flapping. i'm not trying to compare karlach to a dog (or, rather, i'm not trying to condescend to her or minimize her pain or awareness or intelligence). i think everyone knows she's got big feelings and she's a very physically emotive and fidgety person (we've all seen her little dance) so it just makes sense to me that she would vent her excitement physically somehow.
also it's what i would do if i had a tail. i'm stuck using my hands lmao

Aight I'm awake and writing this in class :3
So, what's up with the shadows in this post? Is that Whole? Ehhh yes and no. That's just a shadow.
Kind of like in Light.
"But wait isn't that Whole" EXACTLY. Whole is a shadow.
And here's where my interpretation steps in. (tossing in a read more this got long)
I think that HMS have always been Whole, in dissonance and harmony alike. There is no higher being they will become when they are harmonious, there is no total being that they make up. They ARE Whole, and there is no Whole. (side note I'm using the "mental illness as a loop" interpretation instead of an actual time loop, there is potential for growth)
So if there is no Whole, why does the shadow exist?
A shadow tends to be what's haunting you, and not what you aspire to be in the mirror. I see HMS pursuing becoming Whole as literally chasing their own shadow, something that doesn't exist yet is still inherently themselves.
Whole, to me, is a shadow that is cast when HMS are together. 'Whole' is a concept that they chase, so he is the concept that they cast.
HMS doesn't reflect Whole, Whole reflects HMS.
As a kind of additional slap to the face, his name is not Whole or Harmonia. He is less than HMS are after all, nor is he the ideal human they are chasing. He is "a sad sulking mess, this human you're being", so he is not Whole. He is also formed regardless of dissonance or harmony as long as they are together, so he is not Harmonia.
His name is Me. ("I AM ME")
There is no god here for you to find. At the end of your faith, there is only Me and Me and Me. You are the gods and titans you have always searched for, Apollo and Artemis and Atlas.

I'm thinking again about how much it annoys me when fics make Parmak a follower of the Oralian Way and Garak a scornful atheist when the material they draw on for that characterization portrays Garak as religious and as this being apart of his heritage- and connects Parmak to the Oralian Way in no way whatsoever. Aside from my general feelings about Hebitians and class in Cardassian society it makes my eye twitch because it almost feels like its implying they're like this because of their respective moralities and implying religious people are inherently good and kind and atheists are... whatever you want to call Garak... is pretty fucked.

It is so important to me that Stanley Pines has ADHD, person who struggles so much in school and then just stops trying because it hurts too much to try only to fail, especially when you're compared to someone else and hyperfixating on a dream and promise that was made in your youth, even when other's grew up to think it's "childish", because it's Important to you just. the inability to make something stick, trying again and again and again and again and it just doesn't work, hiding and lying when you messed up because it hurts too much to be caught and to disappoint and just !!! The anger issues the struggling the intensity of his love and how much it burns him---

Tag Dump because I'm tired of not having my tags handy.
Also NSFW headcanons because i forget my headcanons.
I have headcanons but I only write smut when the stars align and two blood sacrifices have been made in my honor so no one needs to know these.
HIM's eyes go black when they c*m.
They are a nonbinary-shapeshifter but they prefer to have a pen*s.
Head game is insane.
They are EXTREMELY vain so when it comes to talking during its usually stuff like "you like my *blank*" "i know it feels good when i *blank*"
Believe it or not, HIM is a switch. They have no preference for either though. It's really just whatever they feel like at the moment.
They love to leave marks in visible spots.
Finally, the tags:

#dang it do i have a new oc now
Sounds like!! I'd love to hear more if you've got it!
(referring to my tags on this post)
You will meet a stranger, sometimes, if you make a habit to frequent taverns, inns, halls for game, or even the one tree where the young Bracegirdle cousins sneak off to play marbles. Well, you will like as not meet many strangers, except in the last case, but this one will be different. Or perhaps you get lucky, and don't frequent such places, but find yourself in one unexpectedly, and meet them regardless.
Everyone in Gondor knows someone who knows someone who met Lady Luck, no one has met her themself. If you do, starry-eyed romantics say, you'll be blessed with good fortune for all your days. The pragmatists tell you you'll be blessed with the good sense to discern a scam.
He may smirk at you after winning a bet, some dark-haired man, using his earnings to buy a round for the bar. It's always a different man, but it always goes to Alwed's tab. It keeps the crowd from getting too rowdy, even if the more superstitious get on edge.
No one remembers meeting them the first time, but dwarves with common sense avoid Audr's shell games and silver-toothed smile- you always win, but it's never worth it.
A woman with greying-gold hair and stiff fingers might call herself Eadrun, and challenge you to a game of dice. Few decline, and far fewer win.
For as few elves remain in Middle Earth, the one who calls himself Herendil and laughs as though his name is a joke should be recognizable. He seems young and lighthearted in a way most have lost, but he will play you cards, win just as much as he loses, and disappear, never recognized.
A hobbit-lass may giggle, red curls gleaming in the sun, and introduce herself as Peony Sandheaver, her family is visiting from Bree, and she wants to see how Shire-hobbits play Jacks.
Sometimes an orc prays over a set of knucklebones, knowing that at least one god will hear one prayer. Orcs have little luck in battle, but uncanny luck with dice.
There are countless stories, just as many true as not. Countless names, far more unnamed figures, always just out of place enough wherever they are to be interesting and promise new tales, never enough to provoke suspicion, not at first.
Even those in the Blessed Realm may find this dark-eyed stranger. Always dark-eyed, like bottles of dark glass. They stop by Aulë's workshop on occasion, to learn and suggest and play new games. They never win the first round, but most have the sense not to bet anything they aren't willing to lose on the second.
Oromë's people call them Umbarnica with a laugh and a toast in welcome. They thrive in the drunken revels after a successful hunt, sharp as ever as they dance from game to game, cackling at ill-advised propositions offered as collateral for or against a bet. Usually this means them winning to avoid it, a frequent enough occurrence as-is, but every now and then they'll decide to let someone get lucky. The bragging rights are the real reward.
And there are no guarantees with this stranger. No way to ensure their favor, though many ways to get their attention, few good. They like irony, take pleasure in hubris reaching its fall. They love superstition, even if they don't always honor it, and they love stories. There are gods that can be mistaken for kind, they are not one of them, created to serve the king the Dark Lord could have been. Their favorites are fickle, their grudges subtle but long-held. They love cheaters, unless they're at the end of the attempt. They will always catch you, and you will always regret it. They slink through candle-shadows and pipe-smoke, grinning, dance in town squares turned to faire grounds, curl up on comfy chairs indoors on rainy days.
But sometimes, in these days, you won't meet a stranger at all. Sometimes your storyteller will get a bright-dark glint in their eyes, and some dice will roll strangely high and some dice will roll strangely low and either way the story will be better for it. And if the next time the group meets you need to take a moment to remind the storyteller exactly what happened last session, well. That's why you take notes.
So pray to the dice-god, card-master, quick-sighted. It might do you no good, but they love superstition, and they love stories. And when you play a dark-eyed stranger, don't cheat at cards.

20. what is something your muse wants to tell others, but is too afraid to?
hey, @absensia! thank you very much for the ask (: it means a lot to me that you'd drop one in my inbox, if i'm being honest!! but of course... i'm incredibly grateful for everyone's submissions in regards to the prompts i posted for barton! alright, so my answer to this one is probably going to be long like the last, so please bear with me while i pour out all of my thoughts as to what i believe barton has wanted to tell people for years. and that is that he might need help — which, considering how much blood he has gotten on his hands + the very poor state of his mind, isn't that unreasonable at all. though barton doesn't want to bring this up to anyone for a multitude of reasons; one of which is because he fears he'll be seen as weak and because he's pretty much convinced himself internally that he doesn't deserve it. though i feel as if most of the time, barton not only feels this irrational as well as powerful hatred towards everyone else, but towards himself, too. which are both dangerous mindsets to be in within their own right.
when you feel like you are completely unlovable but are also so chronically lonely at the same time that you will quite literally seek people out who you know hate your guts, because in a way, seeing them almost validates what you feel about yourself + you also feel so lonely sometimes that you feel like you're going insane ( or more than he already was before anyhow ) ; in barton's opinion, that is probably one of the very definitions of ' something's wrong. ' especially since this has led him down some pretty dark paths before: both with things like self-medicating using alcohol and getting into this relationship with someone that he knows is bad news, but who he believes he belongs with on some degree. this is because they're both terrible, and they feed into each other's desire to receive their own extremely unhealthy idea's of what love is. an idea that love is inherently violent when that is anything but what love actually is.
and barton knows that it's wrong deep in the back of his mind because he is at his absolute worst when he's with this person, but like i mentioned previously, he doesn't believe he deserves any better than them so he hasn't told anyone about what he's been feeling. however, when you disassociate like barton does sometimes in which you genuinely do not remember what the hell happened for a certain amount of time, since your brain is struggling so hard to cope with all of these bad feelings you're feeling and terrible things you're exposing it to that it feels the need to tuck it away somewhere... you should absolutely seek help as he has subtly alluded to how he often feels a few times around his kids, and they were probably the most concerned about him that they've ever been.
but the problem remains that the action of actually reaching out to people feels impossible for barton. both in the way that he wouldn't even know where to begin explaining his feelings into words, on account of them feeling so complex that he feels like he can't even name them a majority of the time, as well as that he was taught that seeking help was something to look down upon by wesley. this is also attributable to the desire that barton feels to appear like he's perfect all the time, as i had highlighted in one of my previous posts on here. and acknowledging that you are actively struggling goes against that, along with the fact that talking to someone is a sign of confidence in yourself. which barton is actually lacking in despite appearances.
though anyhow, i know that this was probably an awfully heavy thing to have to read through, and i'm sorry for that in advance. but barton, kind of like real people, are not the sum of their parts — so i felt like it was important to explain how he feels wholly and without things being sugarcoated / left out. i hope you liked this answer anyhow, though, and are having a great day so far! thanks again for the ask.

so why can't mine be bi?
I mean... I would rather people think he's bi than outright deny his attraction to Daigo. If I've ever said he "can't be bi" at any point, it's not because I don't think anyone should be allowed to interpret him as bi, or because him being bi is entirely out of the question. It's because the concept of him being bi is diametrically opposed to my personal analysis of Mine and the concepts his character portrays.
He's asked out by twenty different women (notably, he has never asked a woman out himself and explicitly says he has no interest in doing so) and he never once shows any enthusiasm when he agrees. He goes to hostess clubs and completely ignores the actual hostesses in favor of the men who drag him there, spacing out entirely the rest of the time when they're not talking to him.
He's also one of the only characters who explicitly talks about sex, in that in he says in Japanese he could sleep with as many otherwise desirable women as he wanted (again, emphasis on the number)... within the context of a list of things that he feels should have made him happy, but didn't.
The one and only time he doesn't act like he's being subjected to abject misery when interacting with a woman who's clearly attracted to him is at the end of his Okinawa character story, but that's... not really saying anything. People aren't gay because they've exclusively had bad experiences with dating. In fact, many people realize they're gay because they've had the "ideal" experiences, but still don't feel fulfilled. Which is exactly the sentiment Mine expresses in the finale.
Like… it's not for lack of trying, or lack of interactions with women. At some point it's just no use looking for the "right woman," because the "right woman" is never going to come along for someone who's not attracted to women in the first place. For Mine, the "right person" was Daigo Dojima.

wigfrid thought pls?
This is another half Wig and half Max hc, but I'll keep it goofier and shorter this time. ig this one's less of a headcanon and more of. idk. a thought i think would be goofy if it was true
I think it would be funny if a lot of the time when Max was trying stuff out, he would force Wigfrid to be his unwilling 'beta tester' to kind of get a taste of how other survivors might fare against some of his new stuff. The harder a time she had with it, it would be ten times worse for the others. She was his metric.
This is my explanation on how she hopped from RoG into DST without actually being in classic DS solo. She needs to play on Hard Mode so maxy can take notes. don't ask me how webber got in rog though bc idk. wigfried gave him a beta access key ig

[mun] note, if the interactions between our muses get deep enough for your muse to give Arceus a name, they will hold onto that name until your muse dies or otherwise stops existing.
Names are something they treasure with all their heart, to them its a sign of recognization, of belonging, and sometimes even of love.
For this reason, if they end up giving your muse a name, even if its not the name your muse told them to call them, covertly, its a sign of love from Arceus. They dont expect your muse to like it, of course, because they understand not everyone holds the same values they do, good grief, of course not. How could they?
But names, for Arceus, are a way to forge a bond that will last a lifetime to them. Even if yours has long since forgotten about them; if your muse has given Arceus a name
they will remember it.
And they will always follow, if you call them by that name.
