Is it bad that I like sechskies but hate the seventeen movie I don’t know why I hate it but also like it I hope this makes sense
100% makes sense. It's an awful movie. Also of you think Seventeen is bad check out their musical. Or anything where they try to act.
I say that even as a huge fan of the movie LOL. I know it sucks- one of my hobbies is watching movies. I even have a letterboxd account that I'm stupidly serious about- but Seventeen is special. It makes me cringe so hard but they all look so cute. It's a good movie to watch with a bunch of friends if you want an embarassing and quotable film.

curious about this shenko nonsense???
this shenko nonsense
asdhjfgkajsd A good follow up to my last post. It’s an (abandonned?) Mass Effect fic that I’m eyeing as some of my friends and mutuals get ready for the remaster.
I’m going to put two excerpts so they’re under a cut for being long.
the first is an extremely dated rewrite of meeting kaidan when you fail to save those colonists in ME2
“No, don’t let them get away!”
Delan’s plea echoed painfully through the empty colony. Kaidan squinted and rubbed at his forehead. A hell of a time for a migraine, but he hadn’t expected this stress. He had heard the gunfire, and instinctively headed towards the violence.
“There’s nothing we can do,” came a reply. “They’re gone.”
Staff Commander Alenko felt his heart stop. He knew that voice, better than he’d care to admit. That was the voice, her voice. Pictures, vids and holos had created a visual profile of the late Commander Shepard, and even so, the image of her had started to fade from his mind. He had slowly lost details of the woman to time, the curve of her eyes, the placement of her dimples, the wrinkles on her hands … but her voice had stayed with him; from whispering his name in the dark, to ordering him into the thick of combat in the Battle of the Citadel. There was no mistaking it.
He felt winded as reports relating to her status that he’d been privy to jumbled in his head, but he could only hear his own mind screaming, ‘She’s alive.’
“I didn’t want it to end this way,” she continued, sharp and honest as ever. “I did what I could.”
“More than most, Shepard,” answered yet another familiar drawl.
“Shepard?” piped Delan. “Wait. I know that name. Sure, I remember you -” and Kaidan bottled his emoations as he moved to approach the voices. No one remembered Shepard as he remembered did.
“Commander Shapard,” he greeted and introduced, “captain of the Normandy, the first human Spectre, Saviour of the Citadel. You’re in the presence of a legend, Delan, and a ghost.” Kaidan couldn’t believe he could even look away from the woman to address the engineer, but he had. Delan expressed disapproval and dismissed himself however, and there was nothing to do but look back to her. He hadn’t sought changes in her expression upon revealing himself, afraid of what he might see, and how he might react.
Despite being two years dead, Celeste Shepard barely looked worse for wear. Some faded facial scars were hardly a disfigurement, and Kaidan swallowed uneasily for want of pressing his lips to her matte lips. He twitched a nervous smile as he continued to advance on the woman, and much to his relief, she took him in her arms. If she were a clone or an android, she was an excellent copy.
Her nose bumped the side of his neck from holding him too tight, and Kaidan shivered slightly before pulling away. “I thought you were dead, Shepard. We all did.”
Kaidan saw that Garrus was with her and a dark haired woman with an outfit donning the Cerberus logo, and his hands clenched as they fell to his sides. Celeste was rubbing at one of her eyes, both of which were red – ‘Was she crying?’ he had to wonder. He had never seen that before.
“I missed you, Kaidan,” she sputtered, trying to regain her composure. “I missed you so much.” She cleared her throat with a closed mouth into her first before turning back to her companions and requesting, “Could we have a moment alone? Please?”
“Yeah.” “No.” Came the unified responses. Garrus and Miranda exchanged a look. Kaidan watched the Cerberus operative with increasing distaste as she leaned back on her own hip and swung a pistol lazily in her free hand. The lack of respect with which she addressed Shepard was unfathomable. Why would Celeste put up with this dreg of humanity and her loyalties?
“I will not give you opportunity to run off with an agent of the Alliance,” Miranda began, before waving her free hand in Kaidan’s direction before crossing her arm around herself. “In fact, we could even consider this particular Alliance agent a liability.”
Garrus holstered his weapon while watching Miranda with a harsh eye. Kaidan couldn’t help but notice how sinister the Turian looked, all scars and sharp angles. “Shepard won’t abandon her team,” he said with certainty. “We're fine, Ms Lawson.”
She looked unimpressed as she clipped her gun to her side, repeating, "I’m not leaving.”
Celeste nodded and turned all her attention back to Kaidan, who by this point was fuming. Disappointed, disgusted and confused by Shepard’s behaviour he spoke louder than he’d intended, but with what he felt was appropriate maliciousness, “How could you work for Cerberus? After everything we’d done to try to stop their experiments and-and-and their operations! Have you forgotten Kahoku? Toombs? Even the Fai Dan and the Rachni queen? Did their suffering mean nothing to you?”
The commander flinched as if struck, “I haven’t forgotten.” She sighed and answered more calmly, “I don’t work for Cerberus –”
“That’s not what your paycheck says,” blurted Miranda as she straightened her posture. Shepard’s gaze shot daggers at her companion, but she gave her no vocal response, only gritting her teeth before turning back to Kaidan, whose eyebrows blatantly displayed his distaste.
“I didn’t sign up for Cerberus,” Celeste corrected herself, “this just sort of happened –”
“Then what about me, Shepard?!” the outburst came before he could stop it. Kaidan held a hand over the side of his face and cursed loudly, while internally insulting his own weakness and intelligence, but he’d started his blithering now – it would be easier to plow through than bail out. He dropped his hand to his side and continued, “I thought we had something … something real, and even if,” the words bit his teeth, “I was wrong, I thought I at least had your respect! Thinking you were dead tore me apart. How could you put me through that? Why didn't you try to contact me? Why didn't you let me know you were alive?”
Celeste expressive features twisted into a truly angry sight. ‘Good,’ thought Kaidan, ‘don’t be agreeable.’
“I was dead,” she growled, and she reached out as if to shove him away from her, but stopped. Her hands hovered between them before twitching back to her sides.
“You don’t think this is hard on me?” Celeste continued. “I’ve been “comatose or worse,”” she air-quoted, “for the past two years. And what do you think the first thing I asked after was when I was finally had coherent thought?” The metal of her armor clinked as she balled her hands into fists. “I asked everyone after you: Cerberus, Anderson, Garrus, Tali, Joker – but no one … no one could understand why this was so important to me,” she finished lamely.
“I loved you,” Kaidan answered, cold and malicious. She was all that the Alliance made her out to be and more, it was absurd to think that in the time she’d been active – which was weeks at least, as per the rumors, that she would have truly failed in getting a message out. Regardless, she had just told him Anderson had known – known from her directly that she was alive.
Celeste’s eyes burned red and she breathed heavy, “Kaidan…”
He realized then that it was the first time he had said that he loved her, aloud for her ears, and it was in past tense. Guilt scratched at the surface of his rage, but it was powerless against his injury in this moment. “I still love you … It’s only been a few days for me … Please, try to understand.”
Kaidan inhaled sharply upon hearing her response. ‘Isn’t this what you wanted?’ asked a part of him. ‘To be loved?’ ‘She’s not allowed to love me,’ argued another. ‘Not now.’ He shook his head, “Alliance Intel thought Cerberus might be behind the missing human colonies. We got a tip that this colony might be the next one to get hit. Anderson stonewalled me, but there were rumors that you weren't dead, that you were working for the enemy … and now you’re here Shepard.”
“…What?” she gasped.
Miranda scoffed, “Reports? So much for information security.”
“But Kaidan,” Celeste bud in, “you saw what happened here right? The Collectors –”
“I saw them,” he assured her.
“They’re working with the Reapers!” cried Shepard.
Calmed and vulnerable, Kaidan took a step back as he answered, “Maybe. As morose as it is, I hope you’re right. I want to believe you Shepard, but I can't trust Cerberus. They could be using the threat of a Reaper to manipulate you. Maybe you feel like you owe Cerberus because they saved you, but their intelligence must be as corrupt as their methods. Just … think about it …
“I've got to report back to the Citadel. They can decide if they believe your story or not,” he finished, continuing to force himself to move away.
Shepard was nodding, her eyes tired and unfocused, “Goodbye, old friend.”
He smiled weakly before taking his leave, “Good luck, Commander.”
Kaidan didn’t depart immediately; he simply got out of sight. He leaned up against a shelter and ran both hands through his hair while listening to Shepard leave. He hadn’t been waiting for her to come back. She was dead. There was an ending. It was impossible that she was here. He couldn’t be expected to know how to react or how he would feel. He fumbled with his omni-tool to address his migraine, a welcome distraction for his hands and his eyes, though he could not escape his heartache.
Shepard was leaving him again, and this time it wasn’t by force. Though truly, she’d never left him before, she’d been ripped from him … but now, she was leaving. He wished she’d begged for his company or asked anything of him, he wasn’t fit to oblige but he worried that this might be a sign of her guilt somehow.
And after Kaidan reminisces about their first night from ME1 and is flying back to Citadel space after that interaction.
Kaidan banged his head against the wall of the ship. The size of the vessel allowed for him, as the ranking officer, to be awarded an office, but not his own private quarters. The cool steel felt good on the back of his head and drew him away from wilder memories and fantasies. The degree to which this helped with his mood however, was negligible.
More than one night of intimacy, however. He missed her.
Her advice, her judgement, her sense of humour, of honour and duty; traits he could not find to the same degree in any other person in all the galaxy. Their bond of trust … was that forever broken now? How could one simply fall into the employ of their enemy? Cerberus obviously wasn’t holding her hostage. The Alliance had their own efforts in working against the Reapers. Had she even tried to reach home?
“Oh God,” Kaidan groaned. He would not be the one to tell her parents that she was alive.

Ok so I typed up a super long review of Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and I spared nothing in what you might call a scathing review. It’s below the cut, but if you’d like the TL;DR part, I’d summarize it as follows:
The Starfox stuff is fun, but the rest isn’t. 5/10
Starlink Battle for Atlas review
Being a huge fan of Starfox, I’ve had my eye on this game for a very long time. However, the whole “toys as games” thing was a huge turnoff, coupled with the fact that apparently even getting the physical version meant you needed to devote 15GB of storage space to the game, which makes no sense to me.
Anyway, I watched the reception closely, and it was pretty lukewarm, at best. People generally had very little to say about the game, so I only ever occasionally looked into whether it was on sale or not. Luckily for me, I got my hands on a 400GB microSD card for my Switch at the same time that the digital version went on super sale at 70% off, so I decided the time was right to try it out.
The Good
The Starfox team is at their graphical best in this game, by far. They looked great in Starfox Zero, but they look exactly how I pictured they would in my most fantastical dreams from when I was little. They all move smoothly, have perfect fur and feathers, emotive expressions, and they just fit so well with all the other characters in Starlink. There is a wide variety of allies and NPCs in this game, and they all have just as wide a variety of races and species. One guy looks like he should be a grass type Pokemon. I really think the character design is fantastic in this game. The fact that the entire inclusion of Starfox was an afterthought, yet they all fit in so perfectly is really a huge victory for Starlink.
In addition to how they look, the Starfox team also sounds great. They got the original voice actors back for Fox and Slippy (and I do mean the originals from Nintendo 64!), and the rest of the squad, plus Wolf, came back from the 2011 remaster of Starfox 64 for the 3DS. That game was a great remaster, and the voice work was phenomenal. The characters and their personalities all shine through just as you expect them. They banter slightly less than on the N64, but part of that might just be because sound bytes were at a premium on that system, so they had to pick and choose what lines to include more carefully. So, I don’t think you can really count that against Starlink, which is a game that can include just about as many lines of dialogue as it wants. Fox, for one, has a TON of dialogue and I loved every bit of it. I kind of wish I lived in the Seattle area so I could hear Mike West’s radio show (and hear Fox’s voice all the time), which is how Nintendo discovered him for the original voice of Fox McCloud way back in 1997. Another great piece of work here.
In what very well might have been the source of the “Star Fox Grand Prix” fake leak a few years ago, there is a planet called the Crimson Moon where you can take part in what is essentially pod racing with your Arwing. Now, I really did not enjoy the pod race scene of Star Wars Episode I, and aside from Mario Kart 64, I really don’t find racing games very rewarding. However, these racing levels are actually pretty fun. There are hidden shortcuts you can take, plenty of obstacles, and the computer racers are actually fairly difficult. I honestly found myself getting really into these races. The only downside is, there aren’t very many of them. They’re also kind of long, which is no problem for a veteran of N64’s Rainbow Road, but I was a bit surprised at the length of some of the courses.
The Meh
The music, which I have come to believe might be the element of games that really determines whether I just like a game, or love it, is fairly generic. It sounds like your average Marvel movie soundtrack, except without any real bangers. The Corneria remix is too short and not often played, and the Star Wolf theme is the same deal. That’s just about it for Starfox music, and the rest of it is just so generic that I can’t even comment any further. A real letdown for me, although it doesn’t particularly take away from the game or produce any grating tracks.
The difficulty was a mixed bag as well. I played about 70% of the game on Hard mode because I’m very experienced with Ace Combat and Starfox games, so I thought I’d be fine with the air/space combat. But, the difficulty slider didn’t really make the game more difficult, it just made it take a lot longer. I guess that could be seen as a good thing for people who get upset about dying really quickly on harder difficulties, but it felt like a way to cheat at padding the game’s playtime. I ended up lowering the difficulty just so I could finish faster.
The Starlink characters are a really big missed opportunity. They all have very distinct personalities, but I was shocked at how little content actually featured them. They each have a backstory cutscene that highlights them, but those scenes are so short that it’s more of a 30 second elevator pitch than anything else. None of the characters have more than a sentence or two to comment about said cutscenes, and none of them ever show any growth. Even the “main” character of Mason is basically the same by the end of the game. Although, I do think their designs are excellent and their personalities stand out from one another well enough.
The Bad
Spoilers ahead for the next three paragraphs! The story itself is pretty crappy. I’m still not really sure what was going on or why the Equinox (the main ship) was where it was. In more than one of the character-specific backstory cutscenes I already mentioned, they talk about Earth. So, ok, we understand that almost everyone on the Equinox is human, that’s fine. But...how exactly did they get here and why do they want to recapture the solar system of Atlas? As you play, you essentially claim territory in the name of Atlas, but it’s not clear at all who that exactly is. Does that mean the Equinox is in charge? Is there a government somewhere? Military affiliations or alliances? Because plenty of territory seems to be independent, in addition to enemy-controlled territory. Maybe there was a single line of dialogue I missed somewhere.
But, ok, we just want to fly spaceships and shoot stuff, who cares about politics! Well, there are still issues with the story because I honestly could scarcely care less about any of the plot in this game, which makes it tough to get into any of the battles or things at stake. The entire Starlink team was so unimportant that I literally never used ANY of them even one time, and the game never encouraged me too, either. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the unparalleled writing and character development of the Kiseki series of JRPGs, or maybe I just really don’t like the storytelling methods and style of western RPGs, but I feel like the story should make you WANT to learn more about characters. Instead, I was just constantly asking questions like “Why does any of this matter?”
Now, that would be a totally unimportant question if the game was all about space battles and explosions and pew pews, but it pretends to have this really deep, engrossing story with characters wracked over the (spoiler!) kidnapping and death of their leader and captain. We barely even get to know who this dude is before he’s kidnapped, and then the rest of the story is so bare-bones that most of what we’re “supposed” to be feeling has to be completely assumed under the guise of “Well, I guess he was the captain so we’re supposed to feel bad, right?” He did apparently act like a father figure for many of the Starlink pilots, but we are only briefly told that in those previously mentioned 30 second elevator pitches. We never actually see it.
Ok spoilers done, but I’m not. The enemies that you fight in this game are also horribly boring and repetitive. We get about 10 enemies in total throughout the entire game, and most of those only have very slight variations. They try to spice it up a bit by adding in “elements,” but about 70% of what I fought ended up always being the fire type anyway. Sure, we get five or so “boss” type enemies, but they’re not particularly special, either. Most of these enemies are copy-pasted all over the planets you visit to give the impression of a planet full of activity, but really it’s just the same things over and over.
The real issue here is how the Big Bad, a bird guy named Grax, is supposed to be really feared but we only get like two cutscenes about him. His army is completely faceless. It’s really shocking that we got significantly more development from the Star Wolf team almost 25 years ago on the Nintendo 64, and all of that was delivered in five second one-liners spread through only a couple levels!
All I’m going to say about the “toys as games” thing is that it’s stupid and clunky and should never be used, especially the way they make you mount the ship onto your controller. What an absolutely idiotic method. I can understand having a portal like they did with Skylanders. Still not a fan, but you can toss something onto it and it doesn’t weigh down your controller. If it was required to play, I would have never even tried this game.
Gameplay is supposed to be the real winning point here, with an honestly unbelievable amount of content available for each planet you visit. I think there were six or seven planets you could visit, so there was actually a ton to do. But I can’t imagine beating my head against the wall so many times on each planet to complete any of it. If you really enjoy grinding, monotonous, pointless gameplay, then by all means, try this game.
Conclusion
I mean, if you like Starfox, I think you’ll have at least some fun with it. The Starfox levels are fun, and it feels like legitimate Starfox content. It also shows that Starfox could branch out into something different, but I’m not sure I’d be a big fan of it going such a repetitive route with regards to gameplay. If a game like this were fully devoted to a Starfox story, and not just including Starfox as an afterthought, then I do think it could be a good game. But as it stands, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an example of something that looks and sounds great, but revels in gameplay mediocrity and fails at story-telling. 5/10. If there was no Starfox content, it’s honestly a 3/10.

Retro Games WTB
So for reference, this and the last two posts were written on the same night. We went from serious discussion about sensitive and graphic material in media, to silliness about shooty mans, to this. The thing is, I’m going away on a weekend camping trip (Melbourne got delayed again but at least getting to go on this is a silver lining?), and when this post goes up (assuming I figure out how to schedule it right) is the one day where I’m just never at home. The Saturday of a weekend trip. I don’t know if the place is going to have cell signal, and I’m not letting that of all things get in the way of me posting more bullshit.
It’s been a long night.
I was originally going to do, like, a tierlist thing, but staring at the list of these was just depressing. Motherfuckers put Homestuck in the Video Games section multiple times, and I had to stare at the fact that someone went out of their way to make a FNAF shipping tier list. And lots of people played it. Fuck, man.
I don’t know if me talking about a bunch of games I want to buy is actually more interesting, but I’ll be damned if I can’t do that easily and for a lot of words. Plus, it’ll force me to actually come up with a complete list.
(editors note this is ridiculously absurdly long and it has no images it’s just 2.5K words of jack shit and me tiredly trying to make jokes about old games you probably haven’t heard of you’ve been waaaarned)
N64
The prospect of collecting all the N64 games I want is somewhat daunting, especially considering my region-based issues. But I’ve made some solid progress since that one time I talked about my collection (and I cannot be fucked dragging that post up at the moment). I’ve acquired Banjo-Kazooie and a Kirby 64 cart that I sure didn’t know was coming in fucking box.
Anyway. I’d like to pick up Smash 64 at some point, if only for the novelty of it. I’ve played it, like, once? And that was a very long time ago, the first time I ever played an N64 (possibly the only time I even touched a controller before I bought my own), and I wasn’t as mediocre to functional at Smash as I am now. 64 is kind of a whole different animal, though- no competitively viable maps by modern standards and the engine is fucky- every character combos so well that they run 5-stock matches instead of 3.
(From this point on, I’m literally looking at a Wikipedia list of games and picking ones to comment on, so it’s alphabetical)
Banjo-Tooie would be nice, I suppose, but I’ve barely played the first one- let’s maybe do that before I start thinking sequels. I didn’t realise until I actually picked up the game that Kazooie is like, a massive asshole? Extremely rude? Apparently that’s their character trait and I just didn’t know. Banjo seems like such a cool bloke, why does he hang out with them?
Even though I’d never be able to play it, the Australian version of Beetle Adventure Racing actually replaces the titular cars with Holdens, which is fucking hilarious and I need to see it.
I’ve heard a lot about Conker’s Bad Fur Day, that it’s basically Banjo/DK but M rated. I…don’t imagine it’s aged particularly well. Man, remember when he showed up for Project Spark, though? Yeah, me neither.
Donkey Kong 64 is another classic, and I’m sure it’s really good. I have managed to pick up an Expansion Pak, so there’s half the cost of it gone, too. I’ve never actually finished any of the Country games, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t play like one, so. I also never watched the HBomberguy charity marathon, so I am pure and unspoiled as to the grisly details of this jungle bash.
On the one hand, Goldeneye is arguably one of the most iconic FPS games of all time. On the other, it’s not aged particularly well, and I don’t have a cadre of people to hang around being nostalgic for it, because we’re all either younger than this game or barely out-age it. I hope someone reading this feels old now. (sorry)
Even as a Pokemon fanatic, I’m not buying Hey You, Pikachu. That game barely worked with people in the USA, imagine that shitty microphone trying to decipher my accent on fucking N64 hardware. Also it’s pretty lame even if you can get it to work, so.
Majora’s Mask is currently my White Whale, because I want nothing more than to play that game. I’ve heard so much, it sounds and looks so fucking incredible, and as I said I have the Expansion Pak now so I can actually run it. One day, man, one day. Once again I should probably finish Ocarina of Time first, but like, I know I’m going to play this one, so.
I guess Mario Kart 64 would be worth picking up, apparently it’s one of the better ones. I reckon if people showed up to play fucking Beetle Adventure Racing before knowing the game was actually really good, they’ll show up for Mario Kart. I’d rather buy 64 than 8, frankly.
I could barely get any interest in my bootleg-ass copy of Mario Party 3, I’m not going to spend stupid money on the other ones.
Oh, apparently Mega Man Legends came out on the 64 as well? I thought that was just on the Playstation. I mean, people really seem to like that sub-series, but then people also liked Star Force, so I don’t know if I can trust the Mega Man fandom on anything. (MMBN legacy collection when, Capcom)
Yo so there was a Neon Genesis Evangelion game for the N64, and apparently it’s a fighting game? Japan-only, of course, but my console can run those anyway. And like, that sounds funny and cool, I’ll punch Sachiel to death, why the fuck not? Who needs a progressive knife. Congratulations joke.
God Paper Mario is so fucking expensive god damnit
Perfect Dark rounds out the trio of “hey I have the expansion pak now”, but I know substantially less about it. So, maybe?
The Pokemon games I’m missing (and care about) are Snap, Puzzle League, and Stadium 2. I’ll consider Snap if I can find a cheap copy, as I know it’s pretty limited (and the new one just came out), Puzzle League is probably meh, and Stadium 2 sounds fun but I’d need to then buy a GSC cart to get the most out of it and they aren’t cheap. Unless I get a Japanese one, but apparently, they’re only compatible with Japanese Stadium 2 (er, Stadium GS), so I’d have to double down on illegibility.
Oh fuck, right, Star Fox. Man I thought I was going to get away with just talking about Star Wars here (I’ve already got the good ones), but I forgot about fuckin Star Fox 64, aka The Good One. Shit I gotta get that don’t I? Fuck me. At least searching for one will be slightly easier because the PAL version has a different name.
Oh, and Yoshi’s Story looks like a trip and I don’t know if that’s a good thing. Like, this just looks worse than Yoshi’s Island if I’m being honest.
 GBA
I haven’t actually talked about by GBA collection on here have I? TL;DR- it’s a console I’m very nostalgic for, but my collection is lacking because all the carts in Malaysia were bootlegs.
Jesus there’s so many more GBA games than N64 ones. Like, in general, not just on this list.
Advance Wars is a solid maybe, because the carts are super fucking expensive, I’ve never played the series, and the remaster is coming soon. But apparently they’re good? Big shrug energy.
Wow, they made two whole Banjo games for the GBA. Both of these look like shit, though, so fuck it. No wonder I never hear anyone talk about them.
Boktai is an interesting series I’d like to maybe give a shot. It’s a JRPG made by fucking Hideo Kojima, where the cartridge had a light sensor in it to encourage you to play outside by buffing the main character. Which was an interesting choice on the notably not backlit GBA. It also has crossover stuff with something we’ll get into later.
I’ve played Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow to death, and as a result I’d love to pick up a copy of it’s GBA prequel, Aria of Sorrow- it’s apparently almost just as good. I’ve not heard much about the other two GBA Castlevanias, but they’re apparently similarly excellent- a stark comparison to the mediocre to bad N64 ones.
If someone buys me a cartridge of Crazy Frog Racer I will play it and that is a fucking promise.
There are like three whole Fire Emblem games on the GBA, though only two came out in English. I actually have a bootleg of one of them. It’s another one of those ones that are unreasonably expensive because it didn’t sell well and they didn’t make that many as a result, though. So probably not worth getting a real one unless I fall super head over heels for the series- I don’t see that happening soon.
Oh right, Golden Sun. Another JRPG franchise for the GBA. There were a lot of those, huh? Anyway there’s like no way this guy is getting into Smash, don’t get your hopes up.
Harvest Moon is basically Stardew Valley, but older. Two games of it came out on the GBA, and I’m probably not about to commit to buying one of those rather than Stardew. And that game has yet to successfully appeal to me, soooooooo
I have a bootleg of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, and that’s one of the ones where it probably doesn’t matter at all that it’s a bootleg, so I’m satisfied with it. Don’t have Nightmare in Dream Land, which I’ve played before on emulator and wouldn’t mind retrying, so maybe. I’ve never been massive on remakes if the original is viable, but I don’t have an NES so I’m sure not buying Kirby’s Adventure.
There are two Zelda games on GBA- a port of A Link to the Past which I have, and Minish Cap which I don’t. Minish Cap is very expensive!!! Aah!!!
Yo they ported The Lost Vikings to GBA? Wack. I guess Blizzard gets a shoe in this console’s door, then.
Yeah okay so there are like a million Mario games here, huh. Superstar Saga was the first Mario and Luigi game, and the one of those I’ve played (Partners in Time) was good enough that I’d bite for the original. Or I’d just go buy Bowser’s Inside Story. Mario Kart and Golf on the GBA don’t appeal super hard, and I’ve played Mario Pinball Land (long before that Alpharad Deluxe series), to the point where I don’t feel the need to actually buy it.
Speaking of Alpharad, I played Mario Party Advance on one of my Malaysian Bootlegs long, long before he made that video reminding people it existed. That game actually kind of fucks, for what it’s worth, and since my copy can’t save, I’d consider buying a real one. Assuming that Alpha’s video didn’t lead to a mass buyout or price spike.
Okay, so Mega Man Battle Network is kind of the big one on this list- definitely the White Whale so far, since to my understanding the series had extremely limited release in Australia. I do have a Japanese copy of 4 (Blue Moon) that I picked up because it was like 5 bucks, but A. 4 is godawful relative to the others and B. it’s a JRPG and I can’t read Japanese. But I would Do Things to get copies of 2, 3, or 6. Not so much 1 (because it’s not great), or 5 because I’ve nearly 100%’d the DS version on my flashcart.
Seriously, I’ve considered writing multiple blog posts on this series, I think it’s a super underrated gem. It’s an eSport on GBA for fucks sake! It’s also the series that crossed over with Boktai from earlier- apparently Kojima’s kid was a huge fan, so he got in touch to get some cross-promo content going. Funny how that works.
It’s not like they’re ever going to release Mother 3 anyway. Y’all aren’t even going to let me pay for this game, so you can’t complain if I buy a Chinese bootleg with the fan translation on it. I paid five whole bucks, and if they released it in English for real, I’d easily drop more on it. It’s a 10/10 game.
Oh alright, there’s Pokemon. I’m actually 4/7 on the GBA Pokemon games, which is pretty good considering the price just keeps going up and up. I’ve actually considered making a Living Dex solely in Gen 3- however that would either require all the ones I don’t have (save Pinball) a Gamecube with Colosseum/XD (which I have thought about), or maybe both. A long-term project, for sure, but one I’d enjoy doing.
Apparently the Sonic GBA games are pretty good, save for the infamous remake of the first Sonic game- Sonic Genesis. That is, however, the only one of them I’ve actually played. And for a long time was the only Sonic game I’d ever played. Great first impression, huh? The Marble Zone OST unironically slaps, though.
Yeah okay so there’s like over a hundred games still on this list and I care about, like, none of them. Except maybe some of the Wario games and Yu-Gi-Oh games- and I know some of the latter are complete and utter garbage. Like, I’ve played The Sacred Cards, and that game is genuine shite. I’ve still only played one Yu-Gi-Oh game I’ve liked.
I guess I can close off this wall of text by saying I want to get a GBA flashcart so I can run romhacks on console, but there’s a bunch of different types and it doesn’t seem like anyone can agree on which one is the best, so I guess I’m in limbo a bit on that one. Still, it’s worth a look at some point- I’ve gotten so much mileage out of my DS one after all.
And that’s a full-ass list. Perhaps a little daunting, but something like this is a long-term project, and there’s plenty of time to adjust, or make trades rather than buy, et cetera. I don’t ever expect to like, complete a collection, but I’m happy getting things bit by bit.
Anyway it’s like 2AM now I need to be up in 5 hours oops if I’m late then sorry james lmao except you won’t possibly be able to read this until Saturday and it’ll be too late then ha HA

10 Video Game Collecting Tips (Good For People New To The Hobby)
Game collections are always an awesome sight, the smell of that fresh plastic, the glow of cameras and lights reflecting off their reflective surfaces, and that amazing aesthetic of your home looking like the modern equivalent of a fantasy library. Imagine that Dark Souls 3 stage with the huge library but with significantly less wax.
Getting an impressive collection like that takes lots of time and money, even when collecting small libraries like the Wii U. So I thought I’d share some tips I use and find useful that will help you save time, hopefully time used to play the games, and money, to buy more games with.
1. Rarity Vs Demand Vs Quality
Not all rare games are good, or expensive. Video games are a consumerist market which means the price of these goods is dictated primarily by demand. The more a product is in demand the more expensive it will be. That’s not to say that rarity and game quality don’t effect it either though.
Games like Metroid, Mario, Zelda, etc tend to be pricey because once someone has a copy they’re not keen to give it up, because they’re good and nostalgic. They represent an era. The same can be said about rare games, people hang onto them because they’re rare. But others want those games still and as more people get into this hobby the more people there are trying to get the same things you want.
Just keep in mind that because it is pricey doesn’t mean that it is good. For example Hello Kitty Wii U rose to $100 (not even the most expensive Wii U game) used because it was hard to get and was in high demand to finish Wii U collections. A lot of people are going to use the Wii U as their first collection because of the small cheap library (162 games).
If a game is outside your price range consider waiting until focus shifts to a new game console or game. Nowadays price drops are more common with new trends in the market and that leads to the next tip.
2. Set Trends, Watch Trends
Like previously mentioned a trend can cause a rise in price in games you might want. But there are also trends that work in your favor. Remasters, remakes, and ports are one such trend that has become very popular this console generation. With the rise and commonality of HD gaming a lot of older, sometimes good, and hard to find games are repackaged and sold again on modern hardware to cash in on nostalgia.
This is the perfect time for you to start seeking out copies of those games. You can see a lot of games drop in value of 50% or higher after a couple months of a remaster.
As for trendsetting, you might consider setting out to seek games within a specific genre over a specific console or only looking for popular games. You can find yourself some great hidden gems, some real clunkers, and maybe find yourself a great deal.
A good example would be seeking out obscure games and genres. Like Shoot Em Ups, these games have a niche following so not as many people are hunting them down. Same with older survival horror and sports games are ALWAYS cheap.
3. Set Many Easy To Attain Goals
This is more life advice. There are thousands upon thousands of games out there and it can be overwhelming to try and find everything you want or even just finishing collections. Try to keep lists of games or genres you want to look out for and when you go shopping try to make it your goal to get at least one of those games.
It’s important your goals are reasonably attainable with a few harder ones. Just this week I went in simply to grab a copy of Bayonetta 2 and found a game I’ve wanted since release, Xenoblade Chronicles 1 for the Wii. I was ecstatic, I found something I’ve wanted a long time and I wasn’t even trying for it because I know how hard it is to find on a store shelf.
Think about it like this, how many times have you tried to do something new and set your goal too high then ended up giving up cause it was too difficult? Weight-loss? Working out? Eating better? Quitting Smoking? Ease yourself into things, cold turkey is hard and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. You’re not weak, this is just how human brains work we need small goals to keep us happy til we get the big ones.
4. Get Social
A lot of people tend to think of gamers as antisocial shut ins but this is a great hobby to get to know people through. You should ABSOLUTELY build social connections with fellow collectors, games, and shop owners. Avoid topics they likely hear everyday and always be listening and receptive. It’s ok to talk about yourself but a conversation is shared and both of you should be heard. Think of it like improv, avoid negativity and always go “Yes and...”
A lot of collectors are focusing on a handful of platforms and likely aren’t looking for what you are. So it’s a good opportunity to make collector friends cause they can show you the good shops, yard sales, listings, and even send you spares they might come across or pick something up for you that you might not have thought of.
Most of my consoles are actually ones that were gifted to me or I bought from friends. Including my Wii U, Wii, DSi and Lite, and Xbox Original. Normally I’d have to pay 80 dollars for any one of these alone and I only paid 40 at the most. They all came with games too.
Make sure to share contact info with serious collectors and shop owners. A great way for this is to pick up business cards. I bought some cheap ones from a company called Moo. They only cost me 20 bucks plus shipping and I got 100 cards. Keep it simple though:
Name
Video Game Collector
What you’re interested in, a short about you, maybe a funny quip, and mention compensation
Contact
On the back just a little game controller or maybe your profile picture from social media. The flashier the better and this’ll make you stand out.
I personally don’t give out my phone number, so I use my email and if I trust them I write my number down.
5. Talk the Talk
Knowing the terminology can help you find what you’re looking for more quickly and help you know what you’re getting. Here are the most used ones:
Loose: They’re talking about the game itself, no case, peripherals, manuals, or art.
Boxed: Just the game and box.
CIB: Complete In Box, this means the game is as it was when it released but it has been opened and likely played. At the simplest it means Game, Case, Manual, all original. Modern games don’t have manuals so you know, there is room for wiggle room on the definition.
New: It still has the plastic shrink wrap on the case. Don’t buy if you want to actually play it.
Always make sure to read the seller’s description if online. Know what you’re buying before you buy so you don’t surprised later and you’re back where you started but with less cash.
6. Start Local
Hard to find water if you’re in a desert and you don’t know where to look. Start with your local stores and try to stick to local businesses, they offer good deals most of the time and helping out your fellow hobbyists makes this hobby easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
I actually live in a small country town so we don’t have any “Mom and Pop” retro stores. I shop at Game X Change and rely on gifts and buying from locals. But you can bet Game X Change and local Gamestops have my phone number and business card.
I suggest starting local simply because it might not be a good idea to start collecting online shopping only. It’s not as fun to me personally and you can’t look at what you’re getting until after they have your cash. Start local, and try collecting from their stock first.
Check frequently too, the bigger collectors I know check multiple shops across different cities multiple times a week.People are always hurting for cash and having to sell games or whole collections to make ends meet. This could be a chance for you to provide those games a good home too.
7. Avoid Gamestop
Ok, this is a personal preference one. Don’t buy retro from Gamestop or games online from them, unless you have one of the few retro store Gamestops in town. The reason simply being is that Gamestop will accept games in any condition, loose, scratched, and while you can return a scratched disc it does suck to land something neat just to return it. Especially because it didn’t have it’s original case.
I’ve bought 3 games from Gamestop, and they didn’t have the cases, online and sorry, I will not put those ugly no art cases on my shelves. Go in person to buy them or don’t buy from Gamestop. This also falls under “Know what you’re buying before you buy”.
8. Don’t Put Your Eggs in One Basket
Just a suggestion. some consoles have a lot of stinkers like the Wii and Wii U. Let’s say you buy all the good games for that platform and now you have nothing but the bad ones left to complete your collection. 100% is nice but getting something you’ll enjoy is nice too.
Consider buying multiple consoles and collecting for them all at once. This works with the trend tip very well, cause should one of your systems suddenly be hot you can shift focus over to your Genesis for a bit.
9. Emulation Vs OG Hardware
This comes down to personal taste. I own a Retron 5 because I livestream games and the less cord changing I have to do the better. This takes 5 consoles and feeds them through HDMI. This is great for my purposes especially because I don’t have to dig out a console anytime I want to switch games and I can keep the original hardware looking nice on the shelf.
The Retron line of systems though is NOT OG hardware though. What does that mean? Emulation is the recreation of older hardware through modern software and this can result in a lot of issues. Screen tearing, low fps, inconsistent fps, and other bugs and glitches. The OG hardware will play them as they were intended to be played and the way you likely experienced them.
Consider your needs and purposes and buy accordingly.
10. Include Your Friends
All activities are more fun when you include others. If you have gamer friends that don’t collect consider bringing them along with you on a couple trips. Let them pick out some stuff you two can play together and see if you can pique their interest. Find you your P2. Doesn’t have to be a partner or lover, just anyone who can hang out with you while you do it. Shopping alone is boring.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway that was all the tips I have for y’all right now. If you have any questions for me you can ask them here or on my Twitter. If you want to see me play games live check out my Twitch. I hope you found some new info here and maybe had some of your questions answered. I really believe this can be a very social hobby and considering the times I think we are all hurting for some interaction.

Fallout 76
The rumour-mill has been spinning as fans express concerns about Fallout 76 going free-to-play, when a shortage of Fallout 76 copies was brought to light in Australia.
Recently a customer who visited their local EB Games to find that Fallout 76 was in short supply, of course alerting the internet to the lack of copies available in Australia.
This rumour however turned out to be untrue, a user tweeted out on Twitter that they wanted their money back if Fallout 76 went free-to-play.
The response from Bethesda was short and straight to the point “There is no truth to this rumor”.
The rumour although seems quite a jump to make from shortage of the game instore, there has been a bit of battle with the recent news of the Replacement Canvas Bags For Fallout 76: Power Armor Edition and the price of in-game items that could leave some fans a little sceptical.

Demon’s Souls
In a recent series by gameinformer that has covered the upcoming release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a prominent question has popped up on the topic of FromSoftware remastering Demon’s Souls.
Asking the president of FromSoftware himself Hidetaka Miyazaki whether or not there would be a chance of revisiting the classic and fan favourite Demon’s Souls. It has been a topic that we have covered in the past when the Demon’s Souls Servers closed Down simultaneously which led us to believe a remaster was not a distant possibility.
He said in the interview: “It’s like when you write – when you’re younger, you look back on [previous work] and you think ‘Oh, goodness what was I thinking’, it’s not that I’m embarrassed, I just don’t like to look at my previous works.“
While not ruling out the possibility of a remaster entirely, Miyazaki shares it’s not exactly in his focus at this time. He went on to explain that it’s not just his say so that would determine whether a project like this would go ahead, as Sony would also be a deciding factor.
However he is not opposed to the idea of getting another studio to work on a remaster either, but it would have to be one that would not only want to do it, but be passionate about the original as well.
From what Miyazaki has expressed it looks like this is not one of the possible titles that FromSoftware has been working on. So if this rules out a remaster, what could the two projects hold?

Cyberpunk 2077
In a surprising turn of events, according to Cyberpunk 2077’s Creative Director’s LinkedIn profile, Sebastian Stępień is now working with Blizzard Entertainment.
This news is a little surprising considering that the current game in development is the futuristic RPG Cyberpunk 2077 which is still awaiting a release date. Sebastian Stępień has worked with CD Projekt Red for over 12 years, previously working on The Witcher 3 as well as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. While it isn’t clear what he is working on with Blizzard, he still holds the same position as Creative Director.
In a post on the message board ResetEra, a user posted Stępień’s LinkedIn profile that now says he has joined Blizzard working on an unnamed project. If you look at Blizzard’s current portfolio of games, where Stępień would fit in best, it would most likely be on a Diablo project possibly Diablo 4, as the developer had mentioned last year that multiple projects were in the works and more to be revealed in 2019. Blizzard at this time has not announced what Stępień would be working on.

Anthem
Bioware have announced that their upcoming sci-fi action-RPG Anthem has officially gone gold.
The lead cinematic animator Tal Peleg shared a short but affirmative tweet that simply reads “GOLD” with a picture of Anthem in a golden hue. This indicates that the upcoming action third person RPG from Bioware has wrapped up it’s development and is ready to ship out on launch day. Going gold is an industry standard that means the developers have finished their game, the final master copy has been made and is ready to be produced for retail.
This is great news as it means fans can expect for the game to release on time. It was early this month that EA and Bioware announced the demo dates for Anthem.
Also Lead Producer Micheal Gamble has announced the arrival of Social Hubs, meaning up to 16 players can hang out at the Launch Bay.
Anthem comes to PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on February 22nd, pre-orders are available via Amazon.
To read more about this news find it here in Bioware’s Anthem Goes Gold.
Evoland Legendary Edition
The action-adventure RPG Evoland 1 and 2 are coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One and Switch in the form of the Evoland Legendary Edition this February.
Bundled together in the Evoland Legendary Edition, the action-RPGs Evoland and Evoland 2 are coming to three platforms in February. The title by developer and publisher Shiro Games allows players to take on challenging puzzles, beat’em up battles, turn-based fights all in a 8-bit style aesthetic. But as you make progress in-game, you unlock new technologies, gameplay systems and graphic upgrades, converting your pixel world into a modern 3D one.
While Evoland focuses more on the turn-based style battles mixed in with some real time boss fights, Evoland 2 follows a more enriched RPG structure allowing players to interact with dozens of characters and engage in deep combat with customisable options.
Evoland Legendary Edition comes to Playstation 4, Xbox One and Switch on February 7th 2019.
To read more about this news find it here in Evoland 1 And 2 Comes To PS4, Xbox One And Switch In February.
CrossCode
Deck13 and Radical Fish Games announced that the 2D fast paced part-puzzle part shoot ’em up CrossCode is coming to the Switch this year. The title is a unique spin on the action-RPG that not only combines a MMORPG world setting in a single-player game, but brings fast action gameplay with some adventure and exploration.
In a recent article Deck13 told Gematsu that they cannot currently confirm at this time if the CrossCode Playstation 4 version which is also scheduled for this year, will have exclusive content but simply said “to keep an eye out on possible announcements at a future time (wink).”
If you’ve ever wanted to experience an MMORPG but in a single-player RPG game we would recommend trying this one out.
If you want to know what we thought of the action-RPG CrossCode be sure to read our CrossCode Review – A Fast Paced Sci-Fi Puzzle RPG on Fextralife.com.
CrossCode will be available on the Nintendo Switch sometime this year, no news as of yet of the release window.
To read more about this news find it here in CrossCode Is Coming To Switch In 2019.
God Eater 3
The upcoming action RPG God Eater 3 gets a new trailer from Bandai Namco, this time going over its main game features.
The trailer shows off God Eater 3 with some of it’s major features including character customisation, weapon transformation, the ability to team up with other players and your main goal to take down the powerful Aragami. You can also see how some of weapons look in action and their affect on major beasts found in game.
In the uphill battle to stop the biggest threat to life on Earth the deadly Aragami, players will be able to team up with 4 players and up to 8 in Assault Mission mode.
There is also a character customisation video that as posted on Twitter that showed some of the possibilities for your own God Eater character.

Note
you as well have to do all the numbers, todd coward ass binch
First of all, I’m no todd you muppet.1. First game you played obsessively?Modern Warfare 3. Get all the things, do all the challenges, get the good guns, every now and then remember to actually try to do well.2. A game that has influenced you creatively? Writing, drawing, etc.I’ve never really written or drawn much but I think aesthetically speaking Star Fox 64 got me down the path of Sci-FI and star ships and such. I never actually owned it which just furthered my intrigue whenever I could get my hands on it.3. Who did you play with as a kid?I didn’t play with anyone really. I’d occasionally play against my brother but he would only ever want to play Sport Game 2kYear.
4. Who do you play with now?@thisisbud Tanner who deleted his tumblr @delicontessa @charizardon5. Ever use cheat codes?Usually only the funny ones. Or costumes. And unlimited webbing in Spider-man the game cause it made it actually playable.6. Ever buy strategy guides?I distinctly remember having two strategy guides. One was the official Donkey Kong 64 strategy guide, and the other was this strange off brand Mario 64 strategy guide that had, like, how-to draw-anime-characters looking dudes telling you tips.7. Any games you have multiple copies of?Bioshock and Bioshock 2 thanks to the purchase of the full remaster collection.8. Rarest/Most expensive game in your collection? The Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition for Wii. Bought it on a whim when it came out and never looked back.9. Most regrettable purchase?Either Mirror’s Edge Catalyst or Star Wars Battlefront. I wanted both of them to be so good and they just absolutely did not execute. At least I got Mirror’s Edge Catalyst once it got cheaper though.10. Ever go to a midnight game release or stand in line for hours? The Smash 4 Wii U/Pokemon Alpha Omega midnight release. Just a bunch of people standing in the cold playing other Pokemon games. I was there exclusively for Smash though.11. Have you ever made new friends from playing video games?I probably owe it to Smash for having my best friends.12. Ever get picked on for liking games? In general? Not recently. Occasional crap from a family member. As for specific games I don’t really have any guilty pleasures besides Brink but I absolutely stand by it.13. A game you’ve never played that everyone else has?Any Final Fantasy game, Pokemans Red Blue Yellow, basically anything that only went to a Sony system like Spyro or Crash or Uncharted.14. Favorite game music?Splatoon. All day every day. If I have to be specific Splatoon 2 has passed it’s predecessor.15. If it was a requirement to get a game related tattoo, what would you pick?Probably something Metroid related. Like the screw attack emblem.16. Favorite game to play with your friends IRL?Smash Bros every time. Fun skill game that can be made lighthearted with a few item switches.17. Ever lose a friend over a game? Not for more than a few hours. Yes in Smash.18. Would you date someone that hates gaming?I would date @delicontessa19. Favorite handheld console? You can just say favorite portable Nintendo console. DS. I have no nostalgia for the Game Boy (and Switch doesn’t count)20. Game that you know like the back of your hand?Mario 64. I don’t know any glitches or anything but I can 100% that with relative ease.21. Game that you didn’t like or understand as a kid but love now?I didn’t get Tetris at all cause nobody told me you were supposed to clear lines by filling them. Now that I have that information I like to indulge in some Tetris every now and then.22. Do you wear game related clothing/accessories?A frankly ridiculous amount.23. The game that you’ve logged the most hours into?Modern Warfare 3. I really. REALLY. like clearing challenges.24. First Pokemon game?Diamond. I am like little baby. 25. Were you ever an arcade game player?Physically am not old enough to have been to arcades that aren’t located in a pizza based restaurant26. Ever form any gaming rivalries? That’s pretty much what Smash was for my friends when it came out. A lot of these are Smash based.27. Game that makes you rage?League of Legends. Other than that I tend to avoid anything I know makes me mad.28. Ever play in a tournament?Smash Doubles for a club in college. Think we won? We didn’t go back.29. What is your gaming set up?A TV, four consoles, one HDMI port, and a Macbook that has served it’s purpose in getting me through school.30. How many consoles do you own?5 counting a 3DS I probably should use more. 6 counting a Wii that was made obsolete due to the power of backwards compatibility.31. Does the 3DS and/or Virtual Boy hurt your eyes or give you headaches? Can’t speak on Virtual Boy but 3DS only happens after like several hours.32. Did you ever play a game based on your favorite show/cartoon/movie/comic?I absolutely did. Who hasn’t? Movie tie-ins are pretty much always bad. Show tie-ins are usually the same way. The comic games tend to be fun though. Like Ultimate Spider-man or the Arkham series.33. Did you ever have any bootleg games or plug-n-play games?I had some of the Namco plug n plays that did like Galaga and Pac-Man and Pole Position. They were pretty solid.34. Do either of your parents play video games? My dad used to play our NES and sports games with my brother. My ma recently picked up a Disney themed candy crush clone for her phone.35. Ever work in a game store? Or do you have a favorite game shop?Nope. As for favorite game shop, if you can call it being the only game store for miles being my favorite, GameStop36. Have you ever shed actual blood, sweat or tears over a game?Sweat, a lot. Palms sweaty when stressed. Definitely no blood. I have cried when I was younger but that’s cause I would get kicked off the games I was playing via force from my brother.Oh. And bile. I used to get headaches if I played games too much. These would make me vomit.I would get headaches a lot.37. Have you played E.T. for the Atari 2600? Do you think that’s the worst game ever, or do you have another nomination?I have not. I have seen the footage. This is fair.38. A game you’re ashamed to admit that you like?I don’t really have game shame so here’s a hot take: Nintendo Land is one of the most criminally underrated party games ever and should get a sequel.39. A sequel that you would die for them to make?Dying is a weird kickstarter donation tier. That said, Jet Set Radio Future. I need it. And Sega knows it exists cause it’s in that damn racing game so WHERES THE GAME SEGA?40. What to you think of virtual reality headsets or motion controls?HTC Vive looks lit. So much so it makes everything else look inferior. That said I also think augmented reality headsets are crazy cool.41. A genre that you just can’t get into?Sony as a whole due to shored up bitterness that I’m trying to tone down. Also sport games besides WWE.42. Maybe it wasn’t your first game, but what was the game that started you on your path to nerdiness?Probably either Mario 64 or Donkey Kong 64. Both were the first ones that really game me clear cut objectives in a game that I paid attention to.43. Ever play games when you really should have been concentrating on something else? Most of the time I’m playing games I should be doing something else. Especially sleeping.44. Arcade machine that has consumed the most of your quarters?Tron. Good game. Fun game. A E S T H E T I C.45. How are you at Mario Kart?I can usually podium if I try. 46. Do you like relaxing games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon?I used to like Animal Crossing more but it’s such a hassle to move from entire real life to entire fake life these days.47. Do you like competitive games?I like competitive games with friends and the occasional shooter.48. How long does it take your to customize your player character?Usually a decent chunk of time. The simpler the customizer, the more time I’ll spend making adjustments as well. Back when I played Halo if I saw anyone using the same armor or same color scheme I had to immediately change.49. In games where you can pick your class, do you always tend to go for the same type of character?Nah I like to mix it up. I constantly rotate on wanting to be an immovable object of strength, a stealthy sneaky boy, or some ridiculous meme. Fallout 3′s Rock-It Launcher is the best weapon in the game and I’ll argue about this.50. If you were a game designer, what masterpiece would you create?Jet Set Radio Future sequel. It needs it. It deserves it. In glorious 4k cartoon rendering.51. Have you ever played a game for so long that you forgot to eat or sleep?Yes. Enough that it isn’t worth mentioning all of them.52. A game that you begged your parents for as a kid?Guitar Hero World Tour. No regrets. Quality game with a banging soundtrack. That said I always had to be on drums at parties and stuff cause everyone else sucked at them.53. What’s your opinion on DLC these days? Most of the time it sucks. Seems kind of shitty that you can tell me the contents of the season pass several months before the game releases. Maybe just add that content in? Hmmmmm? Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2 is a treasure though.54. Do you give in to Steam sales?I have a Mac so most Steam games won’t run for me. That said I expect to fall victim to them soon.55. Did you ever make someone you hated in the Sims and did mean stuff to them?I literally never played the Sims before. So no.56. Did you ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon and kill off your guests?Did not play Roller Coaster Tycoon. Maybe I should add these to the “never played but everyone else has” list.57. Did you ever play a game to 100% or get all of the achievements?Any game I like that has a mildly realistic 100% is one that I will 100%. I’ll even do it for games I don’t like that much.58. If you can only play 3 games for the rest of your life, which ones do you pick?League of Legends, Overwatch, Smash Bros. Ultimate. If I can only play them for the rest of my life, I want to make sure that they’ll at least keep getting updated and let the servers keep running.59. Do you play any cell phone games?I am not a fan. I don’t like the way the kill my battery and most of them seem pretty shallow.60. Do you know the Konami Code?Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start Slide to the Left Slide to the Right Right Foot Lets Stomp Left Foot Lets Stomp FREEEEEEZE.EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS61. Do you trade in your games or keep them forever?I used to do trade-ins but I realized that months later I would want to play them again. So now I keep them forever.62. Ever buy a console specifically to play one game?Nope. I got several games for every console.63. Ever go to a gaming convention or tournament? I don’t think Comic Con counts but Immah count Comic Con.64. Ever make a TV or monitor purchase based on what would be best for gaming?I have not. I’m not too picky graphically.65. Ever have a Game Genie, Game Shark or Action Replay? Did it ever mess up your game’s save file?Nope and nope.
66. Did you ever have have an old Nokia with Snake on it?My grandma did. I did play it a lot.67. Do you have a happy gaming-related childhood memory you want to share?I mean they’re pretty much all happy.68. Ever save up a ton of tickets in an arcade to get something cool?I’ve saved up a bunch of tickets and got something so shitty I can’t remember what it was.69. In your opinion, best game ever made? Hey how about fuck this question. I’d probably have to say Breath of the Wild. In terms of games, it was absolute top quality, excellent writing, and a very unique experience.70. Very first game you ever beat? I actually don’t know. It very likely was on the Xbox though. It’s possible it’s The Godfather but that might just be the one I remember clearing most earliest.
