I'm thinking about Ango Sakaguchi. A member of the Lupin Trio but always left out because Dazai looked up to Odasaku and Odasaku only ever considered Dazai a friend. He said so during his fight with Gide. UGH. I'm thinking about Ango knowing he's going to have to betray Dazai and Odasaku, knowing what's about to go down with Mimic, knowing about Gide's power and the only person who can go up against GIde is *his* friend, because Odasaku is *his* friend but he's not Odasaku's. I'm thinking about Ango doing everything in his power to help Dazai live in the world of light. He has a picture of Dazai that he keeps on his desk, he hallucinates Dazai. He wanted to return to being drinking buddies with his friends despite the lines drawn in the sand, he knew where to find Dazai the night of Odasaku's death. He did it because it's what Odasaku wanted and what Dazai needed. He cares about them so fucking much. But he will always be the traitor, the man who played a part in Odasaku's death, the man who Dazai will never forgive.
