When you started going to school in the mornings he would notice your eye bags from all the nights you couldn’t sleep. Since he has a soft spot for you he would ask “what are those grey things under your eyes dumass!?”

The first day you told him “ooo don’t worry I just stayed all night long looking for Yarichin bitclub and I finally found it so I decided to watch it for the amazing opening , guess I got lost on the time.”Then the other days that this happened you would brush it off every day telling him “I am ok I just couldn’t sleep last night” and continued your new daily rutine. The day came to an end and you where chilling with the girls in the common room when they all said that it was late and they were going to bed. It felt so nice and warm to have his hands warming you up. Then he did something that he would be extremely ashamed if anyone found out. He started cuddling you your back was pressed against his build chest. That is a side of him that only you can get to see. He also started humming a sweet lullaby to help you.

You felt so warm and special, soon your eyes were closing. When you opened your eyes again you saw light coming from the window. You did it! You sleept through the night like a normal high school student! He heard little snores from your sleeping boyfriend. wait... i am confusion.... whats going on? somehow ive avoided clique drama for 6 years (no idea how tbh) and so this is the first ive heard of this "pyramid scheme"??? may i ask what thats about?

Tyler’s sister Maddy has been involved in multiple MLM (multilevel marketing) scams to make money. Her most recent one is called BeachBody which sells workout routines and supplements and shakes and shit. She promotes her scams to her Instagram followers, many of whom she has because of her famous brother and many of them impressionable people and children who may get involved just because someone connected to Tyler is promoting it.

MLMs are predatory schemes which drain the wallets of people who sign up for them because you’re always having to recruit more people to buy from you and then sell under your line to move you up the pyramid. 90% of people who get involved with MLMs fail and lose money rather than receive any of the success that is falsely promised. They manipulate and prey upon people’s insecurities— body image, finances, supporting one’s family, especially women/mothers. They steal empowerment slogans like “boss babe” and use CULT LIKE MIND CONTROL TACTICS to convince people it’s not just sales... it’s a whole lifestyle movement that will BETTER YOU. They make it appear like you own your own company when really you’re just a fool making high levels rich.

So you sign up to work for them, investing your own money to start selling the product and you go through training of “winning sales strategies” and if you follow everything they tell you, you’ll be ROLLING IN CASH. Then they tell you exactly what to say to your friends, family, and every single person on your social media to guilt them and deceive them into buying whatever you’re selling. There’s an MLM for everything and most of the products are GARBAGE. Some actually cause damage like Monat hair products (chemical burns). They act like these are the best products ever but are unregulated, not clinically tested, and dangerous... some claiming to cure illnesses and coronavirus and cancer (that’s more of the nutritional supplement and essential oils worlds but yeah they make massive claims).

But the products don’t even matter sometimes... the real scheme is recruiting more people to join. Someone got you to join and they make money off what you sell and who you recruit (your up line). You want to recruit more people so you can become an upline too. These schemes have levels you can “achieve” and they promise you more money, more rewards, cars, vacations, etc. it’s always about selling selling selling and recruiting. They have ridiculous scripting, formulaic social media posts, and people will cold message others to try and recruit them (I’ve seen posts where people message people going through a major loss and being like X product will HELP YOU SO MUCH). Predatory and disgusting. They bombard everyone with their company and often ruins relationships because all they want is YOUR MONEY and are completely disingenuine. I could go on forever about patterns of strategies they us and they’re always changing what they’re doing because people catch on— nowadays they tell the salespeople to not even name the company.

Anyway, I could go on and on forever. There’s lots of anti-MLM videos on YouTube, there’s a website that tells you if a company is an MLM (some may surprise you because they’re established brands and even have physical shops— Pampered Chef, Body Shop, Avon, etc. I learned a lot from the fb group “sounds like mlm but ok” which shares real posts sent in by members, and some members even were formerly involved in MLMs and answer questions about them. They keep a massive list of known MLMs and update frequently. There’s literally an MLM for everything.

So Maddy’s in this MLM which is all about fitness and weight loss (which is scary to be promoting this to young, impressionable fans/children especially while she’s pregnant). She’s been posting NOT SOCIALLY DISTANCED PHOTOS AND VIDEOS with Jenna while working out. She’s trying to recruit people to her team and she frequently posts on her IG story/page about it. Most recently she is trying to get 10 new sign ups and she posted a list of who’s signed up so far and “Jenna J” is on the list. Most people assume it’s Jenna and some are trying to defend her that it may be a strategy of Maddy to trick people into signing up.

Several things could be going on:

Jenna could think she’s just helping out her sister in law with her business. She’s ignorant and ill-informed and misusing her platform of even more followers, many of whom may sign up because she appears to be the ideal standard of beauty and body type— people want to look like her even though that’s extremely toxic. She may or may not even participate in this, but regardless her name is there and makes it seem like she is endorsing a dangerous pyramid scheme to over a million people.

Someone online is claiming Maddy made up her name because Jenna isn’t part of the private Facebook group that Maddy has for people that signed up... 1. Do y’all really think Jenna would have a Facebook or be in a setting where people could find her secret account? No... and IF maddy is using her name and making it up and implying she’s involved... they all need to be more aware of Maddy’s rogue posts manipulating the audience she primarily only has because of her famous brother. Because tying Jenna’s name to this is dangerous.

In conclusion, there’s a reddit post getting a lot of attention and making people aware of what’s happening and what’s the risk. I’ve seen a lot of people on twitter warning people. Some Instagram comments are calling Maddy directly out (though there’s many who are in support.... and the negative comments can be deleted. Be careful what you see people promoting online and do your research. MLMs are insidious and I’ve personally seen people get involved in them.

The irony that Tyler literally posted a few days ago about companies asking him to promote their “garbage products”. He’s extremely anti ads and endorsing specific brands or doing celebrity ads (Josh on the other hand... he sure does love Nike and there was a lot of Nike product placement recently...). I really appreciate that about Tyler and I think it’s awesome he knows the power his support wields because of the very invested fan base. I just wished he’d notice that two of his siblings often use and manipulate the attention they get because of him to try and get rich quick. I get that he’s very supportive of his family, but there’s got to be some line where he protects his fans.

I hope he finds out about this from either reddit or twitter lurking (which he does a lot) and puts a stop to it because it’s dangerous and manipulative and not at all what he is about as a person.

Alrighty, I've watched you blog about Arknights long enough that it's actually piqued my interest enough to want to check it out, and I do love me a good tower defense game but like, should I be expecting to be battered at every turn with microtransactions or nah? Like what's the monatization method here? Anyway I hope this ask finds you well and that you have a wonderful day!

So, with the caveat that I haven’t played FGO or more than about one hour of GBF, so I can’t authoritatively compare it to the big dogs:

There are two real main sinks for money in the game. The first, what with it being a gacha and all, is pulls. Your natural supply of the resource you use for them, assuming you play every day, plateaus around twenty pulls per month. That’s around enough to do ten pulls on every single banner, which guarantees you a 5* or higher in each one. The guaranteed 5*s alone ensure that you should get a strong core team over time. They balance all the story content to be reasonably doable with teams of 3-4* characters, so the vast majority of the game is comfortably accessible without spending a dime, and I think most people I know haven’t spent any money on it. (You also get about 3 pulls per day from a limited pool for free, which has given me about half of my 6*s to date.)

That said, the gacha rates are nowhere near the level where you can guarantee a 6* in those ten pulls you get, so if you’re a completionist or the kind of person who’s absolutely gotta get whatever cool new character pops up, you’ll probably feel some pressure to drop money on it. If you just want your favorites, the shop that uses currency you earn from playing will let you buy any 3/4* character you want, and there’s always a 5 and a 6* character available for purchase, which rotates about once per month. If you just need a character for mechanical purposes now and then, you can borrow one friend unit per mission, so getting any specific in-demand character usually isn’t too hard. And finally, as an alternative to straight-up buying pulls on demand, there’s also a $5/month ‘subscription’ that gives enough for another ten pulls per month. Of the people I know who have dropped money on the game, I think everyone but two people go this route.

A slight digression, but: Mechanically, new characters who fulfill the same role as a character who launched with the game often tend to be weaker. I swear they’ve almost got a... reverse-power-creep thing going. There are only a handful of roles where a newcomer has unseated the old champion. New characters tend to branch out into new gameplay styles more often, so they’re nice to have, but it’s really rare to have a new character come out and people feel pressured to grab them for strictly utilitarian purposes. Of the two times I can think of where it happened... one of them was a 4*. You can bypass gacha entirely to grab her if you want. There have also, to date, been a whole two limited characters. Everyone else is available from the moment they launch until the end of time.

The other place you can spend lots of money if you want is on refilling your endurance. You get enough to run about... ten story missions per day, I’d say? A lot more early on, since it refills every time you level up. Each mission can take several minutes the first time you do them (plus cutscenes,) and then you’ll also want to do at least a few Annihilation runs per week, and those can take like half an hour per pop. So we’re talking like an hour-ish of gameplay per day if you want, and then a few more hours at some point across the week for Annihilation runs. I’ve really never felt like it’s any kind of meaningful constraint as far as how much I want to play, and then they constantly shower you with potions to completely refill your endurance anyway. (At the moment, I have seventeen full refills I need to burn within the next few days.) I’m actually not sure if anyone I know has paid for endurance refills. The limit seems to irritate the hell out of some people though, so presumably it’s an issue for somebody.

The one place it does slow you down a bit is later on, when you need to deliberately farm materials to upgrade your characters. It does gate your progress a bit... but it’s also not the kind of thing that takes ages to do or anything. Farming is mostly automated, so by the time that it really became a concern, I welcomed it being a bit of a time sink anyway. If I wanted to do story stuff or whatever, I could. If I wanted to focus on other stuff that day, I could sit my phone off to the side farming by itself, poke a button to keep it going every few minutes, and burn through my endurance in half an hour or so.

Overall, I’d say it’s pretty reasonable on the monetization front. They make you look at the in-game cash shop once, and after that, it’s pretty out of the way, without anything really trying to shove it in your face. I’ve had to accept not getting a few characters I would’ve really liked to have, but the few times I felt like those characters would really help me, I was able to borrow them from friends anyway.

I'm told I have a gift of finding unique game apps and I know that a lot of you use your phone as a distraction from chronic pain/anxiety/overstimulation/any other reason you may have so I thought I would make a list of my favorites for you all (keep in mind I have an Android):

Spellspire, you play as a young wizard trying to clear a tower of monaters. It's a word game where the longer the words you use, the most powerful the spells you cast are. They have different levels, boss monsters every 5 levels, different upgrades for your wand/hat/robes, monsters drop power ups. My only gripe is that you only get five lives at a time and have to wait for them to refill, you can buy it for 99 cents and never have another ad again but I'm cheap. Android and iPhone

PostKnight! It's super cute, you play as a new recruit for the postal service in that world, you have to fight monsters to deliver parcels and defend the towns you're stationed at. There's a girl to romance in every city and specialized gifts you can give her but it's optional. Different armor/weapon options, unique towns, a good plot, the big bad guy on each town is repetitive but it's a super cute game and draws you in well. You're given lives but there's a bunch of different ways to regain them, it's for Android and iPhone

Battle Cats, create an army of weird cats to conquer the world. It's fun and weird, you don't have to pay for anything and you don't have a life limit, it's honestly just a really fun game. Android and iPhone

A Girl Adrift, you play as a young woman who sails the post-apocolyptic flooded world and try to figure out why the flood happened. You fish for food and to complete different missions and can upgrade your raft/outfit/fishing pole/hair/ anything really. Different bosses, different fish, it's a really cute game and art style, also totes free unless you go out of your way. Definitely on Android, I'm not sure for iPhone but it's worth a check

Don't Touch The Spikes, old but good. Kind of like a flappy bird/ping-pong cross over, there's a lot of different birds you can pick. Totes free, Android and possibly iPhone

Night of the Full Moon, a card based strategy game where you try to solve Red Riding Hoods grandmother's murder. Fun, standalone, immersive story, unique, but can get a little dark. For Android, hopefully iPhone as well

Woody Puzzle, a never ending puzzle game where you put different wooden pieces into a box to complete a row. Kind of like Tetris but the pieces don't fall on you, unfortunately it's absolutely ad infested and there isn't a way to disable it. The only reason I recommend it is that there may be a person who can tolerate it and enjoy it. Android and iPhone

7Days!, This is a super fun game as well and can get tense at times. Basically, a messenger of death has given a different task to seven different spirits with the agreement that if they complete the task, they will get brought back to life. Your job is to make sure they all fail. Also ad infested but I'm told that it's worth it to buy it completely, otherwise only the demo is free. It's a bitch move, especially for such an interesting concept. For Android, possibly on iPhone, but I wouldn't recommend this usually but the story is super cool

Underhand, start a cult and raise the evil sleeping gods with cards. It's strategy based with a cool art style. You don't have to buy anything to play and it's ad free, for Android, possibly iPhone

Light the Way. SUPER. CUTE. You play as a Guardian of light who has to light a way through the darkened world and make bonds with different faeries to help the world become bright again. Hallo, hier ist mal wieder yuti-chan ^_^ Ich habe eine persönliche Frage. Du kaufst doch auch immer das neueste Kapitel von Black Butler über Kobo. Ich auch, aber bis heute ist das neueste Kapitel 155 dort nicht angeboten worden. Jedenfalls kann ich es über Kobo nicht finden. Weißt du, was da los ist? Oder mache ich irgend etwas falsch?? Ich hoffe, du kannst mir helfen. Viele Grüße!

Hallo Yuti-chan! ^^ Mir ging es diesen Monat leider genauso. Ich kaufe mir das Kapitel normalerweise auch immer über Kobo, aber diesen Monat sind die echt spät dran. So wie es aussieht, gibt es das Kapitel da immer noch nicht. Du bist nicht die einzige, ich habe es heute auch nochmal probiert und es war nicht da. Deshalb hab ich mir das Kapitel jetzt über Comixology gekauft (hab ich früher auch schonmal gemacht, wenn das bei Kobo zu lange ging). Das klappt da auch mit einem Amazon Account. ;) Liebe Grüße!

Die Insel Bali und das kleine Fischerdorf Amed hatten viel mehr zu bieten als wir uns je erträumt hätten. Von Amed hatten wir vorher noch nie etwas gehört. Wir erfuhren von diesem Fischerdörfchen erst, als wir bereits auf Bali waren.

Die Vorgeschichte unserer Reise begann im australischen Darwin. Da wir gezwungenermaßen Australien verlassen mussten, weil unser Visa nach drei Monaten auslief, bot es sich an, nach Bali zu fliegen. Schließlich ist das die nächst gelegene Insel.

Insgesamt verbrachten wir zwei Monate auf Bali. Davon waren wir die ersten drei Wochen in Canggu. Dieser Ort gefiel uns persönlich allerdings nicht ganz so, weshalb wir schon bald unseren Aufenthalt von Canggu nach Ubud verlegten. Dieser zum Teil vom Dschungel und Reisfeldern umgebene Ort begeisterte uns viel mehr als Canggu. Ubud sprudelte nur so von spiritueller Energie und dem künstlerischem Treiben der Einheimischen.

Die restlichen drei Wochen wollten wir jedoch an einem Ort verbringen, an dem die Zeit stehen geblieben war. Dafür suchten wir uns die Gegend um Amed aus, die nur aus einigen Fischerdörfern bestand. Dort sollte es schöne Strände, klares Wasser und Glückliche Menschen geben. Das war für uns Grund genug dahin zu gehen.

Die Gegend um Amed ist hauptsächlich für die tolle Unterwasserwelt bekannt, die bei Tauchern und Schnorchelfans die Herzen höher schlagen lässt. Aber auch die umliegende Landschaft beeindruckte uns sehr. Vor allem der wunderschöne Ausblick auf den Vulkan Agung war besonders. Aber auch die kaum von den Touristen erschlossenen Reisfelder, die sich in den Tälern befanden, waren super anzuschauen.

Amed hatte überraschend gute Unterkünfte

Wir buchten uns online eine einfache und schlichte Unterkunft. Natürlich sind wir immer etwas skeptisch, wenn wir in eine neue Unterkunft einziehen. Wir fragen uns vorher immer, ob die eine Klimaanlage haben, ob das Internet funktioniert, ob das Zimmer sauber ist, ob die Toiletten okay sind oder ob die Gastgeber nett sind und uns nicht übers Ohr hauen. Aber in diesem Fall hatten wir Glück und fast alles war richtig gut. Es hatte uns so sehr gefallen, dass wir uns bereits nach drei Tagen entschieden, unsere restliche Zeit in Amed, in dieser Unterkunft zu verbringen.

Wir hatten eine super Aussicht von unserem Balkon aus auf den Vulkanberg Mount Agung. Dieser spuckte ab und zu sogar Asche. Zudem hatten wir eine tolle Aussicht auf den Indischen Ozean und das tägliche Treiben der Fischer. Vom Balkon aus gab es wirklich immer etwas zu beobachten. So spielten abends immer mal wieder Kinder Fußball am Strand oder ließen selbstgebaute Drachen aufsteigen. Es herrschte Leben von morgens bis abends.

Auch das Frühstück, das im Preis inklusive war, war gar nicht so schlecht. Es bestand aus einem Pfannkuchen mit Bananen, dazu gab es Kaffee oder Fruchtsaft und frisch geschnittene Früchte in einer Schale. Abends, kurz vor Sonnenuntergang, bereiteten wir uns einen frischen Tee und einen selbst gemachten Obstsalat zu. Meistens machten wir das, wenn wir mal zu Hause essen und die freie Sicht auf den Ozean und den Vulkanberg dabei bestaunen wollten.

Die Hähne bestimmen den Tages- und Nachtrhythmus im Dorf

Der Morgen begann jedenfalls immer mit dem Krähen eines Hahnes oder besser gesagt mit dem Krähen mehrerer Hähne. An dieses frühe Krähen konnten wir uns in dieser Zeit nicht richtig gewöhnen. Die vielen Hähne, die nicht nur jeden Morgen, sondern im Grunde den ganzen Tag und sogar manchmal die ganze Nacht ihrem Krähen freien Lauf ließen, waren manchmal einfach einen Ticken zu laut für uns.

Ich persönlich wuchs ja mit Tieren auf und bin eigentlich nicht sehr sensibel, was das Krähen eines Hahnes angeht, aber hier lernte ich noch eine andere Art Hähne kennen. Der Tag- und Nachtrhythmus wurde hier wirklich von den Hähnen und dem Sonnenaufgang und -untergang bestimmt. Den Einheimischen machte es offensichtlich nichts aus, die waren es gewöhnt, aber für Nicht-Einheimische war es doch eher ein Stressbelastungstest.

Das Gekrähe der Hähne wurde davon begünstigt, dass die Einheimischen die Hähne in Käfigen hielten und sie entlang der Straße aufstellten. Die armen Vögel hatten darin kaum Platz. Selbst ich würde wahrscheinlich den ganzen Tag krähen, wenn ich bei der Hitze in so einem Käfig hocken müsste.

Bali und sein unruhiger Vulkan Mount Agung

Besonders aufregend fanden wir die Aktivitäten des Vulkans. Alle paar Tage spuckte er Asche in die Luft. Mal mehr, mal weniger. Nach einigen Tagen achtete man gar nicht mehr drauf, was der Agung, also der Vulkanberg machte. Irgendwie entstand mit der Zeit eine Art Beziehung zu dem Berg. Man sprach über ihn, als ob es sich um eine Person handeln würde und wenn er Asche spuckte, dann erklärte man sich das damit, dass er eben schlechte Laune hätte.

Erstmals verstanden wir auch, warum viele Kulturen Vulkanberge für Götter hielten oder immer noch halten. Denn man hat viel Ehrfurcht und Respekt vor so einem Vulkan. Das ist bei der Größe auch kein Wunder. Wenn man in direkter Nähe zu diesem lebt, kann der Vulkanberg daher großen Einfluss auf das Leben der Menschen haben.

Das letzte Mal, dass der Vulkan ausgebrochen ist, liegt schon Jahrzehnte zurück. Damals gab es viele Tote, die vom plötzlichen Ausbruch überrascht wurden. Heute gibt es ein viel besseres Alarmsystem, das die Einheimischen in der Umgebung frühzeitig warnt. Dieses Alarmsystem war vor allem in letzter Zeit nötig, denn der Berg ist anscheinend erwacht und spuckt manchmal so viel Asche, dass der gesamte Flugverkehr Balis eingestellt werden muss. Wir persönlich hatten ebenfalls Glück, als wir Bali verließen. Denn nur einige Stunden später spuckte der Vulkan so viel Asche aus, dass alle Flüge vorübergehend storniert wurden.

Dennoch sollte der Vulkan die Touristen nicht davon abhalten, Bali zu besuchen. Im Gegenteil, es kann ein tolles Schauspiel werden, wenn man im sicheren Abstand zum Vulkan eine Unterkunft sucht. Amed ist dafür ein perfekter Ort. Es liegt circa 20 Kilometer vom Vulkan und somit weit genug von der Gefahrenzone entfernt.

Die Einheimischen in Amed auf Bali

Eine Sache muss man unbedingt wissen, bevor man Bali besucht. Die Einheimischen dort lächeln immer und sie betrachten die Touristen als wohlhabend und versuchen diesen täglich irgendetwas anzudrehen. Sehr häufig fängt die Masche mit folgenden Fragen an: How are you? Where are you from? Where do you stay? Do you maybe like to buy something? I can make good price for you! Die Reihenfolge ist dabei fast immer dieselbe.

Nach der letzten Frage wird dann der Zweck der Unterhaltung sehr schnell offensichtlich, die Person wird versuchen, dir eine Taxifahrt, einen Tauchgang oder sonst irgendetwas anzudrehen. Wir wurden hunderte Male angesprochen. Immer mit den selben Standardfloskeln. Manchmal ließen wir uns einfach aus Spaß darauf ein und manchmal winkten wir auch genervt ab.

Dieses Verhalten wird übrigens bereits den Kindern beigebracht. Auf Kinder, die etwas verkaufen, trafen wir persönlich vor allem am Strand. Nicht selten hatten sie einen Zettel, auf dem in Handschrift der Eltern geschrieben stand, dass sie die Einnahmen benötigen, um die Schulkosten zu bezahlen. Damit öffnet man natürlich nicht nur das Herz der Touristen, sondern auch den Geldbeutel. Allerdings sollte man den Aufschriften, die einem die Kinder entgegenhalten, nicht geradewegs glauben. Die Schulen auf Bali sind kostenlos. Bücher, Schuluniformen und sonstige Dinge müssen hingegen von den Eltern gekauft werden. Ob das Geld, das die Kinder durch die Verkäufe der Armbänder einnehmen, allerdings tatsächlich in Schulsachen investiert wird, ist fraglich :-).

Dennoch sollte man den Kindern eine Freude machen und ihnen eventuell einige Armbänder abkaufen. Sie haben ihren Spaß am Handeln und für einem selbst ist es ein tolles kleines Souvenir und eine bleibende Erinnerung! Zu Beginn des Handelns versuchen die Kleinen meistens ein Armband für 50 000 IDR zu verkaufen. Wenn man gut handelt, bekommt man jedoch auch schon eins für 5000 IDR. Wir bezahlten meist 10 000 IDR pro Stück und kauften gleich mehrere ab.

Der Unterschied zu anderen Ländern ist bei den Verkäufern auf Bali der, dass die Menschen freundlich blieben, immer lächelten und auch wenn sie einem nichts verkaufen konnten, dennoch oft das Gespräch weiter führten. So erfuhren wir viel über die Menschen, über deren Art zu leben, über die Arbeitszeiten und deren Denken.

Die Einheimischen bekommt man in Amed vor allem abends zu Gesicht. Dann kommen viele Familien zum Strand, um mit den Kindern zu spielen, Fische zu angeln oder einfach den entlang zu spazieren.

Viele Einheimische grüßten einander, aber auch Touristen, die einen Gruß signalisieren, werden gegrüßt. Das fühlt sich gut an. Wie gesagt, Freundlichkeit ist das Zauberwort auf Bali!

Was uns noch auffiel, ist, dass die Digitalisierung dieses verschlafene Fischerdorf voll erwischt hat. Wie mittlerweile überall auf der Welt, hat das Smartphone auch Bali fest im Griff. Es kommt einem vor, als würden die Menschen jede frei Minute in das Handy gucken. Egal an welchem Ort wir bis jetzt waren, ob am Strand, in den Geschäften oder sogar beim Roller fahren, sahen wir, wie die Zeit dazu genutzt wird, um ins Smartphone zu tippen, sich YouTube anzuschauen oder mit Freunden zu chatten.

Die Menschen in den Gästehäusern

Wir persönlich würden jedem empfehlen, sich auf Bali ein Gästehaus als Unterkunft zu suchen. Diese Unterkunftsart hat den großen Vorteil, dass es weniger Zimmer gibt, sich folglich weniger Touristen einnisten und alles sehr schnell familiär wird. Nicht selten werden die Gästehäuser auch direkt von den Familienmitgliedern auf Trab gehalten und diese haben natürlich ein großes Interesse daran, dass die Gäste sich wohlfühlen.

In unserem letzten Gästehaus war eine junge Familie für alles verantwortlich. Die Frau namens „Wayan“ kam jeden Morgen und putzte unsere und die anderen Zimmer. Insgesamt waren es nur vier Zimmer. Anschließend servierte sie uns das Frühstück und beantwortete uns all unsere Fragen. Wenn wir irgendwelche Informationen zur Umgebung brauchten, bekamen wir diese ebenfalls von Wayan.

Wenn sie mit ihrer Arbeit fertig war, suchte sie sich einfach eine ruhige Ecke und ruhte sich auf dem Boden aus. Das Ausruhen auf dem Boden ist auf Bali in der Mittagszeit ziemlich normal. Manchmal bereitete sie mittags auch irgendwelche Hakenvorrichtungen für die Fischer vor oder führte die üblichen Zeremonien zur Erhaltung der positiven Energie durch. Ihr Mann half ihr oft, vor allem mit der Pflege der Gartenanlage. Besonders prägend fand ich, dass die Menschen in Amed den Rasen größtenteils mit einer einfachen Schere schnitten. Da würden die Gärtner in Deutschland auf die Barrikade gehen. Wir freundeten uns mit der junge Familie an und lernten auch ihre kleine zweijährige Tochter kennen. Sie hatte den lustigen Namen „Bunga“, was übersetzt so viel bedeutet wie Blume.

Die Kleinbauern in Amed und Umgebung

Neben den Fischern gab es auch andere Kleinbauern, die ihren Lebensunterhalt mit anderen Dingen verdienten. So konnten wir sehr oft einen Bauer von unserem Balkon aus beobachten, der Morgen für Morgen mit dem Aufbau verschiedener Vorrichtungen beschäftigt war. Mal, um irgendwelche Hülsenfrüchte zu trocknen, mal, um Salz aus dem Salzwasser zu gewinnen.

Meist begann der Bauer früh morgens und arbeitete bis vormittags durch. Dann machte er einige Stunden Pause und setzte seine Arbeit abends in den kühleren Stunden wieder fort. Uns beeindruckte die Geduld, mit der er seine Arbeit verrichtete.

Besonders amüsant fanden wir das Treiben der Bauerskinder. Sie mussten immer mithelfen, hatten dabei aber auch einen Heidenspaß. So tollten die Kinder nicht selten in den Salzwasserpfützen herum, anstatt mit dem Rechen die Erde ordentlich zu verteilen. Das ging immer so lange gut, bis die Eltern Ärger machten. Dann gingen sie kurz ihrer eigentlichen Aufgabe nach, um wieder herumzutollen, sobald die Eltern wegschauten.

Die Fischer prägen das Bild von Amed

Was man in Amed nicht verpassen sollte, sind die vielen Fischer, die morgens mit frischem Fisch von ihren Bootsausflügen zurückkehren. Sie liefen fast jeden Morgen um circa fünf Uhr mit den Booten aus und kamen zwischen 8 und 9 Uhr morgens wieder zurück. Je nach Fangglück hatten sie viel oder wenig Fisch dabei. Oft handelte es sich bei dem Fisch um Makrelen, mit einer Größe von circa 20 bis 30 Zentimetern.

Bevor die Fischer das Ufer erreichten, standen bereits die ersten Käufer am Strand und warteten auf den frischen Fisch, um diesen weiter auf den Märkten zu verkaufen oder in Restaurants mittags den Gästen zu servieren. Pro Makrele bezahlte ein Einheimischer nicht mehr als 5000 IDR. Oft kauften Familien durchaus auch mal vier Fische für 20 000 IDR direkt von den Fischern ab.

Als Tourist kann man natürlich auch Fische abkaufen, jedoch werden die Einheimischen den Touristen den Fisch teurer verkaufen. So fragte ich nach, was mich ein Fisch kosten würde und der Fischer wollte mir den Fisch nicht unter 20 000 IDR pro Stück verkaufen. Ich hätte also das Vierfache von dem bezahlen müssen, was ein Einheimischer bezahlt.

Den Touristen würde ich raten, den frischen Fisch in einem der Warungs zu probieren. Dieser wird nach der traditionellen Art zubereitet und schmeckt wunderbar. Neben den Makrelen haben die Fischer auch Fische wie Goldmakrelen, Barrakudas und Thunfisch im Angebot.

Die Reisfelder und Bauern um Amed

Direkt in Amed gibt es keine Reisbauern, aber wenn man circa fünf Kilometer weiterfährt, dann findet man sowohl in den Tälern als auch entlang der Straße immer mal wieder wunderschöne grüne Reisfelder.

Die umliegende Gegend kann man am besten mit einem Roller erkunden. Dazu startet man am besten mehrere kleine Roadtrips. Dort herrscht auch kaum Verkehr, so dass man ruhig nach links und rechts beim Fahren schauen kann. Direkt in unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es ein wunderschönes Tal, dass mit grünen Reisfeldern gespickt ist und indem es insgesamt sehr bäuerlich zugeht.

Es gibt auch kaum Touristen hier. Die Zeit blieb hier anscheinend einfach stehen und die Natur bestimmt den Lauf des Lebens. Eine tolle Aussicht bekommt man auf das Tal, wenn man den Berg hochfährt. Dazu sollte man unbedingt einen guten Roller haben, der etwas mehr PS hat. Denn wenn man zu zweit unterwegs ist, kann es schon mal vorkommen, dass so ein Roller den Geist aufgibt, wenn der Berg zu steil wird.

Das Tal findet man sehr einfach, indem man der Straße „Jalan Bunutan Bangle“ folgt. Am besten macht man die Tour in den Morgenstunden, da es zu der Zeit noch schön kühl ist.

Frisches Obst und Gemüse in Amed oder auf umliegenden Märkten kaufen

Auf Bali gehört frisches Obst zum Programm. An fast jeder Ecke bekommt man Obst zu kaufen, so auch in Amed. In Zentrum von Amed gibt es den einen oder anderen Obstverkäufer, der, als wir da waren, jedoch nur ein begrenztes Angebot an Obst hatte oder es überteuert weiterverkaufte.

Wir holten unser Obst daher immer in einem kleineren Geschäft circa 3 Kilometer von Amed entfernt auf der linken Seite. Dort gab es eine gute Auswahl und die Verkäuferin gab uns das Obst auch zu einem fairen Preis.

Wer lieber direkt etwas vom Markt haben möchte, der kann im nächsten Ort bei Celuc ebenfalls Obst und Gemüse einkaufen. Das typische Obstangebot besteht aus Bananen, Mangos, Ananas, Drachenfrüchten, Wassermelonen, Honigmelonen, Passionsfrüchten, Schlangenfrüchten, Kokosnüssen und der beliebten Balifrucht, die die Fachbezeichnung „Mangostane“ trägt.

Neben Obst bekommt man natürlich auch Reis, Mais und sonstige Hülsenfrüchte angeboten. Eier, Palmblätter und frisches Mehl bekommt man dort ebenfalls zu kaufen. Wer selbst kochen möchte, findet dort also genug Grundnahrungsmittel.

Uns fiel auf, dass die Bauern hier echte Knoblauch- und Zwiebelfans waren. Das merkte man auch am Geschmack der Gerichte, wenn man sich etwas zu Essen in den Warungs bestellt. Oft bekommt man den frischen Fisch mit viel Knoblauch in Buttersauce serviert. Wie man auf dem Bild erkennen kann, gibt es neben frischen Zwiebeln und Bohnen zudem getrockneten kleinen Fisch.

Alles in allem sollte man von den Märkten in Celuk allerdings nicht zu viel erwarten. Es sind keine großen Märkte. Das überschaubare Angebot kommt dafür aber von den Bauern aus der Umgebung. Nach Souvenirs oder sonstigen Kunstwerken wie zum Beispiel in Ubud braucht man hier nicht zu suchen.

Schnorcheln, Tauchen und Schwimmen in Amed

Das Erste, was einem in Amed auffällt, sind die vielen kleinen Tauch- und Schnorchelgeschäfte, die es in Amed fast an jeder Ecke gibt. Kein Wunder, denn in Amed gibt es viele wundervolle Schnorchelgebiete, die man erforschen kann. Wir selbst waren nicht mit der Flasche tauchen. Eine einfache Schnorchelausrüstung reichte uns vollkommen aus. In der Zeit, in der wir dort waren, tauchten wir an mehreren Stränden. Manche hatten mehr, manche weniger intakte Korallen.

Amed Beach: Der Amed Beach liegt im Zentrum von Amed und eignet sich toll, um einfach herum zu schwimmen. Allerdings sieht man dort nur sehr wenige Korallen und der Strand ist sehr steinig.

Pantei Jemuluk: Der Pantai Jemeluk liegt circa drei Kilometer vom Zentrum entfernt und bietet die ersten schönen Korallen, die man direkt vom Strand aus locker erreichen kann. Hier sollte man sich jedoch auf einige Plastiktüten im Wasser gefasst machen.

Lipa Beach: Hier gibt es ebenfalls schöne Korallen, die man ebenfalls direkt vom Ufer aus erreichen kann.

Japanisches Schiffswrack: Beim Japanischen Schiffswrack gibt es unserer Meinung nach die schönsten Korallen, die ebenfalls mit einer einfachen Schnorchelausrüstung bestaunt werden können.

Japanisches Schiffswrack in Amed auf Bali

Das schönste Schnorchelgebiet war unserer Meinung nach das versunkene Japanische Schiff aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Das Schiff liegt direkt am Strand und man kann es sehr leicht erreichen. Auch wenn man kein guter Schwimmer ist, sollte es bei guter See sehr gut gehen. Bereits wenige Meter vom Strand entfernt beginnen die ersten wunderschönen Korallen und circa hundert Meter weiter liegt das Schiff auf dem Grund, an dem sich tausende Korallen und Fische eine neu Heimat gefunden haben. Um das Schiff herum gibt es gewaltige Korallen, die man sich unbedingt anschauen sollte, wenn man ein einigermaßen fitter Schwimmer ist. Die Unterwasserwelt ist atemberaubend, vergleichbar mit einigen Tauchspots am Great Barrier Reef in Australien.

Ausflüge von Amed aus in die Umgebung und zu den Tempeln

Von Amed aus kann man super Ausflüge planen. Das meiste kann man mit einem Roller erreichen und locker in Eigenregie durchführen. Wir würden die Tour um den Berg empfehlen, der direkt an Amed anliegt. Den Namen vom Berg konnten wir leider nicht herausfinden. Jedenfalls ist die Tour circa 60 Kilometer lang und dauert mit dem Roller um die 4-5 Stunden. Man kommt nicht nur an wunderschönen Landschaften und Aussichstpunkten vorbei, sondern auch an berühmten Tempeln.

Bevor ihr die Tour startet, schaut, dass euer Roller funktionsfähig ist, ihr genügend Wasser dabei habt, unbedingt eure Helme anzieht und eure Sarongs nicht vergesst, denn diese werdet ihr für die Tempel brauchen.

Hindutempel: Pura Lempuyang Luhur und das Tor zur Welt

Der erste Anlaufpunkt sollte der Hindutempel „Pura Lempuyang Luhur“ sein. Diesen erreicht man ziemlich schnell mit dem Roller. Kurz vor dem Tempel geht es ziemlich steil aufwärts und so mancher Roller packt den Anstieg nicht, wenn man zu zweit drauf hockt. Also entweder müsst ihr euch einen stärkeren Roller mieten oder eine Person muss absteigen und die restliche Strecke zu Fuß laufen. Oben angekommen, kann man seinen Roller direkt vor dem Tempel parken. Beim Eintritt zum Tempel sollte man nicht mehr als 10.000 bis 20.000 IDR spenden, da das Ganze dort mittlerweile zu einem Theater ausgeufert ist, um die Touristen leicht um ihr Geld zu bringen. Eine Spende wird erwartet!

Vorsicht ist bei den Stufen geboten. Vor allem wenn das Klima feucht ist, rutscht man unglaublich schnell ab und kann sich schwer verletzen. Also immer gute Schuhe anziehen und nicht mit Flipflops hochgehen. Ich machte die schmerzhafte Erfahrung und glitt einige Treppenstufen herunter. Es war so glatt, dass ich mich kaum irgendwo festhalten konnte.

Wer ein Bild an dem berühmten Tor machen möchte, der sollte sich auf eine längere Touristenschlange gefasst machen. Im Minutentakt werden am Tor Bilder geknipst, besonders bei Chinesischen Touristen sollte man Geduld bewahren :-). Wir hatten leider das Pech, dass uns eine Wolke die Aussicht auf den Vulkan Agung verdeckte. Achtet daher auf gutes Wetter, bevor ihr den Tempel besucht!

Der Markt in Amlapura auf Bali

Der nächste Anfartspunkt auf der Strecke war der Markt in Amlapura. Diesen kann man nicht verfehlen, wenn man entlang der Route fährt. Jedenfalls ist ein Stopp für 30 Minuten oder auch länger zu empfehlen. Es ist ein großes Marktgebäude und dort wird alles Mögliche an Früchten, Gemüse und Kleidung angeboten. Sehr schnell wird man hier bemerken, dass dieser Markt sich von dem Markt in Ubud unterscheidet, da man kaum Sachen findet, die für Touristen gedacht sind, sondern alles auf die Einheimischen ausgerichtet ist.

Der Komplex besteht aus zwei Etagen. In der unteren Etage werden Nahrungsmittel verkauft und in der oberen Etage fast nur Kleidung, Taschen und Schmuck. Wer dahin möchte, dem würden wir empfehlen, mindestens zu zweit dahin zu gehen,

Der Wasserpalast Taman Soekasada Ujung Water Palace

Einen Stopp sollte man auch beim Wasserpalast einplanen. Der Eintritt kostet 50 000 IDR pro Person für den ganzen Tag. Jedoch reicht eine Stunde circa aus, dann hat man den Wasserpalast durch, wenn man nicht gerade dort ein Picknick aufschlagen möchte.

Einige Aussichtspunkte sind sehr schön, da man neben dem Wasserpalast noch den Ozean im Hintergrund sehen kann. Wer möchte, kann auch ein Tretboot mieten und in dem ruhigen See herumpaddeln.

Digitale Nomaden in Amed

Wir sind als Reisende auf Internet angewiesen, da wir von unterwegs aus viel online erledigen müssen. Deshalb prüfen wir immer vorher, ob an den Orten eine verlässliche Internetverbindung existiert. In Amed waren wir ziemlich überrascht, dass wir hier die beste Internetverbindung insgesamt hatten. Auch der Strom fiel hier nie aus. Im Vergleich war Canggu oder Ubud, von ständigen Stromausfällen oder schwachen Internetverbindung geplagt, in Amed konnten wir immer nach Plan arbeiten.

Amed besteht zwar aus kleineren Fischerdörfern und bietet kaum eine digitale Nomadenkultur wie Ubud, dennoch finden wir, dass Amed ein toller Ort für digitale Nomaden ist und einen tollen Ausgleich durch das Schnorcheln und die umliegende Natur  bietet. Es gibt hier wenig Tourismus, man kann kleinere Besorgungen ohne Probleme mit dem Roller erledigen und der Verkehr ist kaum eine Erwähnung wert.

Sollten wir wieder nach Bali als digitale Nomaden kommen, werden wir auf jeden Fall nach Amed gehen :-).

Der Müll in und um Amed

Neben den vielen schönen Seiten in Amed oder insgesamt auf Bali, gibt es auch die weniger schönen Dinge, wie zum Beispiel die starke Vermüllung der Natur. Die Menschen hier haben leider noch kein Verständnis dafür entwickelt, dass die Berge an Müll deren Gesundheit und deren zukünftige Lebensweise stark verändern werden. Sie hatten unserer Meinung dafür auch gar keine Zeit, ebenso wie es ihnen noch nicht möglich war, einen ordentlichen Müllkreislauf mit Recycling zu etablieren.

Die Menschen wurden von den Plastikmassen der importierten Produkten einfach überrannt. Dennoch konnten wir kleinere Anzeichen für Hoffnung erkennen, denn immer mehr Organisationen nehmen sich dem Problem an. So konnten auch wir den Trash-Heroes in Amed helfen und gemeinsam mit ihnen den schönen Strand ein wenig vom Müll befreien. Der Müll an den Stränden gehört immer mehr zum Bild und man wird diesem auch in den anderen Ländern kaum ausweichen können. Das Einzige, was man tun kann, ist, sich zu bücken und mitzuhelfen. Denn die westlichen Nationen sind der Hauptverursacher für die Vermüllung dieser Welt. Aber das ist ein ganz anderes Thema. Kommen wir zum Fazit von Amed!

Fazit zu Amed in Bali

Dieser Artikel wurde viel größer als vorher geplant. Dabei haben wir in dem obigen Text noch nicht einmal über die tolle Unterwasserwelt richtig berichtet oder eingehend über den Vulkanberg und die möglich Wanderwege dahin. Amed und die Gegend hat soviel zu bieten, dass man wahrscheinlich mehrere Jahre braucht, um es richtig kennenzulernen. Denn obwohl wir nur drei Wochen in Amed verbrachten, könnten wir bereits ein ganzes Buch mit unseren Erlebnissen dort füllen.

Eines können wir jedem empfehlen, der nach Amed kommt. Geht unbedingt beim Japanischen Schiffswrack schnorcheln, bestellt euch unbedingt in einem Warung eine frische Makrele, spaziert unbedingt abends den Strand entlang und genießt den Sonnenuntergang hinter dem Vulkanberg. Steht außerdem unbedingt einmal morgens auf und beobachtet die eintreffenden Fischer mit ihrer Ausbeute, macht unbedingt eine Tour in die Täler zu den Reisfeldern, sammelt unbedingt ein wenig Müll am Strand, wenn ihr welche seht, mietet euch unbedingt einen Roller um alles selbst zu entdecken und lasst euch unbedingt Zeit bei allem, was ihr in Amed auf Bali macht!

Introduction: What am I interested in?

On this blog I want to share my thoughts about social media and politics. I especially want to see how social media might be able to change our political environment. 

In our seminar we often talked about the effect of technology in our lives. Humans use a lot of technology in almost every aspect of our lives. It is hard to imagine live without technology since we are so used to it. Nowadays, it is always necessary to use technology in some kind of way. It does not matter if it is for work, school or every day life. Of course, technology is just an umbrella term for many things. One of them is the internet, which is not really something that has been around for a long time. The official birth of the internet is “January 1, 1983” (”A Brief History of the Internet”). From 1983 to now a lot has changed on the internet. You can do almost everything on the internet now. Buy stuff, work, book a vacation, play games and more. There is  a specific invention that is only available because we have the internet. It has changed our lives more than anything else. This invention is Social Media. The very first social media site that was made was called Six Degrees and was created in 1997 (Hendricks). You could use it to update your profile and make friends (Hendricks).

Now social media is a huge part of life and has changed a lot over the years. You do not use it to just make friends or introduce yourself with your profile. Social media is not  used for only private matters anymore.

When the topic social media first came up in one of our class discussions I thought about what I see on social media when I use them. There is not just your friends, your family, your profile and things that you might like. There are news, advertisements, products, gossip and much more. Social media is now used by big companies, small business, entrepreneurs, famous people and more. We even have people, who work as social media influencers.

But it is not just economy that found its way into social media. There is a lot od politics on social media. That does not seem to be a strange development since politicians are suppose to be there for the people. There is no better way to connect to the people than social media.

It is also really convenient for me and I imagine a lot of other people because I am interested in politics and I use a lot of social media. I get all the information about different political topics from there since I do not read newspapers nor do I listen to the radio. I sometimes catch the news on TV but that is not very often. Most of my political input comes from Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram. The question now is: Is this something I or we should be doing?

At first, this may seem like a bad idea because social media has this issue of “fake news” but I do not have a lot of trouble with that. Over the years I have learned to always research if I read something important on social media. I do not think that “Fake News” are a phenomena that social media has caused since newspapers and other news providers often show their own bias or make make confusing statements. For example, in a lecture I attended one of our lecturers showed us that statistics are often purposely formatted as confusing as possible. It tricks people at the first glance because most people will not look closer. This phenomena is analyzed by a few professors every month in Germany with their “Unstatisk des Monats” format. Their website is in German (https://www.rwi-essen.de/unstatistik/) but I have found a translation of one of their recently analyzed statistics, (https://www.hardingcenter.de/en/unstatistik/unstatistik-march-2020-english-corona-pandemic-statistical-concepts-and-their-limits). I do not want to analyse this further, with this I only want to say that I think that with social media we have become more aware of this problem of manipulation and “Fake News” but that it is not something that social media has caused on its own.

Once I established this, I realized that there is something something concerning about my intake of political information. Even though I am interested in politics I am not really getting much about politics in Germany or German politicians, which is not really good since I live in that country. I know the basics and current affairs but no more. 

.In contrast, I know a lot more about American politics. Not just the current news I have more background information than I thought I had. I had not even realized that this is something I that I should be aware of. I thought further about it and came up with a few explanation on why this might be.

Not only is social media is very “Americanized” but the treatment of social media in political situations is very different. German politicians do have Instagram, Twitter and Facebook but they are not managed like the accounts of American politicians. Often they are not managed by the politicians themselves but by social media teams (it depends on how known someone is because smaller not so well known politicians do manage their own account). Of course, American politicians do use social media teams too but their engagement seems to be more natural. It actually looks like they were part of the decision on what to post and we know some of them do post their own content for example Trump, Obama, AOC.

If you look at Germany, chancellor Angela Merkel’s Instagram account feels impersonal. I do not believe that she even is aware of what is put on that account. Most of the German politicians have accounts that feel the same way to me. They are some pictures with children etc. especially if they are about to enter voting periods but otherwise they are really straight forward with only political statements. Now I need to ask myself, is this even a reason to complain? Because is that not what we want from them? To be professional? Politics should be about politics only. Does it matter if a politician is popular on social media or known? Manages their own social media?

On the opposite direction we have American politicians. Three examples from America would be Donald Trump, Barack Obama and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

First, we have Donald Trump. There is not much I can say about him that a look through is Twitter would have said if it had not been deleted for spreading too much misinformation, which does make “Fake News” dangerous again if it comes from someone who is suppose to be believable if it comes to politics. I will say though that I could not imagine a German politician doing what Trump did on Twitter during his presidential period. The constant fights and fake accusations against not only other countries but against people and politicians from other parties. Not behind closed doors but in front of everyone on social media. Of course, we can take Trump as an extreme. As a second example, we have the former president Barack Obama, who has an Instagram and Twitter where he for example posts about his yearly movie, book and music recommendations. At last, we have the United States Representative AOC, who makes a lot of “Instagram Live” videos to personally talk and answer questions the people have about politics. She even does twitch game streams with famous streamers. Even I follow her Instagram account and she is not even political responsible for me. I do not follow any German politicians.

Nevertheless, America is a deeply divided country when it comes to politics and I ask myself if social media has somehow affected this development? Think about the storming of the capital in January 2021 which was organized most likely on social media and was actively encouraged by some republicans on Twitter.

In conclusion, I am asking myself a few questions:

→ Should Germany become more like American in the regard of Social Media in politics?

→ Or should American politicians take a step back from Social Media?

→ Is Social Media affecting politics in a positive or negative way? Or is there no real black or white way of seeing this? Is social media a gray area?

I want to try to answer these questions in particular since I want to figure out if social media has hurt the development of politics or if it has helped people become closer to politics. Do we need to limit social media or should we encourage political discourse on social media? I think the effects of social media in politics have only been discussed superficial I want to bring my own view into this equation, too. I want to see the effect social media has on politics. I want to see if it has an effect on people if we get information on politics from social media or somewhere else.

People ask me all the time if what I do is a pyramid scheme or they make some snide remark about MLM.. ...and yet, they have never peeked inside the lives of the women working this business or how it’s changed more than hair... Kein Urlaub ohne Frieden (MARE NOSTRUM)

Die Lounge unserer Festival-Blog-Redaktion ist direkt neben der Eingangstür zum großen Saal im Schauspielhaus. Die Tür stand in den letzten Tagen immer offen.Seit Dienstag: Musik und Walgeräusche und Stimmen. Zwei Kolumbianerinnen standen dort in einer Projektion von Meer, mit Sonnenbrillen auf den Augen und sangen „Somewhere Over The Rainbow“. Unterdessen hielten wir unsere Redaktionssitzung ab: Jacqueline, Jawid, Million und ich. Million, der einen Arm immer in der Jackentasche hat und mit dem anderen, dem linken, Gedichte über den Krieg in seiner Heimat Eritrea schreibt. Jawid, der eine Frau hat und eine sechs Monate alte Tochter und der davon erzählt, dass er vor kurzem wegen einer Anhörung in Berlin war, wo sein Asylantrag abgelehnt wurde. Und wenn sein Anwalt das Urteil nicht kippen kann, fliegt Jawid umsonst zurück nach Afghanistan.

Ich musste an die Einführungsveranstaltung denken, in der dieser Kulturreferent (Harald Härke - Anm. d. R.) den Theaterformen-Geschäftsführer Malte Wegner auf die Bühne geholt hat, um zu sagen: „Hier, 320.000 Euro sind Ihrs.“ Und dann haben ihm alle zugeklatscht. So viel, sage ich mir jetzt, ist das eigentlich nicht, wenn man überlegt was eine Reise von Kolumbien nach New York kostet – nachdem man einen ehrlichen Schlepper gefunden hat. Das ist im Übrigen beinahe so viel ist, wie von Syrien nach Europa, heißt es im Stück: Zwischen 3000 und 7.500 Euro für ein Schlauchboot und die Weiterfahrt an Land. Das wäre richtig viel, dachte ich, für einen Urlaub.

MARE NOSTRUM und die Einführungsveranstaltung vorab präsentierten auch Zahlen und Fakten und Namen von Parteien, von linksradikalen Guerilla-Banden in Südamerika, die sich ursprünglich aus Bauern rekrutierten und nicht – wie fast überall sonst auf der Welt – aus der Riege der Intellektuellen und Studenten und Studentinnen. Mittlerweile arbeiten die aber mit den Drogenkartellen zusammen und verkaufen nicht den Kaffee, der 75 Cents bringt, sondern Koks, das 1 Dollar bringt. Da würde ich auch Koks verkaufen, dachte ich. Ich würde auch Kaffee kaufen, dachte ich, aber ich hatte in der Vorstellung mein Portemonaie nicht dabei. Ich hätte die Möglichkeit gehabt.

Kurz vor der Aufführung versuchten wir für Million noch ein englisch-sprachiges Booklet zu organisieren, waren aber zu spät dran und er sagte, er verstünde eigentlich alles. Nur deutsch sprechen möchte er noch nicht. Und ich dachte: Der hat also eigentlich auch keine Stimme. Aber dann doch, denn er schreibt Gedichte und die werden im Blog veröffentlicht. Und das ist ja schon ein Anfang.

Auch in MARE NOSTRUM arbeitet die Regisseurin und Autorin stark mit den persönlichen Erfahrungen der Schauspieler, hat sie mir später erzählt. Das Blog-Team war hinterher noch zum Essen eingeladen. Wir saßen im ersten Stock der Cumberlandschen Galerie an einem langen Tisch zusammen mit dem Team des Stücks. Die Götter haben mir eine zweite Chance gegeben, dachte ich. Halleluja. Die Fischsandwiches waren als erstes alle. Jacqueline erinnerte mich, dass ich (wegen des Stücks) keinen Fisch mehr essen wollte. Aber ich kaute schon auf einem Happen Lachs und dachte dabei nicht weiter an die angenagten Leichen, die überall auf der Welt an die Strände gespült werden. Ungefähr diesen Eindruck hatte die gesamte Inszenierung auf mich gemacht. Und ich dachte noch einmal: Danke für das Geld.

Gerade als ich meine zweiten Runde am Buffett machen wollte, traf ich mit Laura Uribe, der Autorin des Stücks, zusammen. Sie war gerade gekommen und folglich immer noch hungrig, aber ich hielt sie fest mit Fragen zum Thema Schreibprozess. Früher hätte sie versucht fiktional über Probleme zu schreiben. Aber das sei totaler Unsinn, sagte sie, weil es nie so echt, nie so intensiv sei wie autobiografisches Erzählen. Überhaupt beginne sie erst sehr spät zu schreiben. Zunächst bespricht sie die Themen mit den Schauspielerinnen und Schauspielern. Dann werden von ihnen Szenen in freier Assoziation gespielt, sodass die größtmögliche Emotionalität freigesetzt wird. Erst diese Eindrücke nehme sie mit nach Hause und schreibe anhand derer ihre Texte – leicht fiktionalisiert. So inszeniert sie schmerzhaft authentische Biografien im widersprüchlichen Kontext globaler Fluchtbewegungen und Kriege. Geht dort aber (gottseidank, dachte ich) noch weiter und stellt schließlich auch immer wieder die Frage nach der anthropologischen Finsternis in jedem von uns. Und spätestens da fängt es an, noch für den letzten Zyniker unangenehm und interessant zu werden. --

The lounge of our festival blog editing team is right beside the entrance to the main auditorium of the Schauspielhaus. In the last few days, the door was always open. Since Tuesday: music and whale sounds and voices. Two Colombian women standing there in a projection of the sea, wearing sunglasses and singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. Meanwhile, we were holding our editors’ meeting: Jacqueline, Jawid, Million and I. Million, who always has one hand in his jacket pocket, while writing poems about the war in his home country, Eritrea, with his other, the left hand. First, she discusses the themes with the actors. Then scenes are freely and associatively acted out by them, so that the most intense emotions can be brought up. Only then does she take these impressions home and use them to write her texts – slightly fictionalised. In this way, she stages painfully authentic biographies in the contradictory context of the global movement of refugees and wars. But then (thank God, I thought), she goes further and ultimately again and again questions the anthropological darkness in each of us.
