Happy Birthday to Ferdinand von Aegir!
I actually made 33 emotes, affectionately known as Aegirglyphics to some, for my own personal use on discord. However, I figure why not share some of them! They're free to use for discord servers/icons/pfps or whatever. However, my only request is Do NOT use them as subscriber emotes on Twitch. You can make them free follower emotes but you are not to make them locked behind a paywall.
#fe three houses#ferdinand von aegir#discord emotes#i thought long and hard about this bc idk the actual want for emotes i made ages ago but#i still love my son and its his bday ad so i should be nice and share#since i no longer have nitro and can no longer use them myself#the fact i can technically post 30 at once was tempting but#some of them arent living up to my standards and also just might not be easy to use in most contexts#so those im gonna skip on lol#whoever wants 21 aegirglyphics tho have at em#i think i might have posted some before? but only 10 and i dont recall which ones#if you want a secret the last three and the middle on the second row are my favorites to use#i used concernednand (the upper one) so much#the internet concerns me guys it was a valid use every time#debated sharing heartnand but honestly the world could benefit from it imo because gotta spread that love#fun lil trivia i love making emotes and so when i was in a server and people knew me as the ferdinand fan and artist#someone was like why hasnt salmon made a ferdinand emote yet#and im like bc i dont run the server and i cant just demand they add my art#and then a mod was like i didnt wanna put pressure on salmon but i thought about it so i was like bet#and then drew a server exclusive happy ferdinand emote#and that was the start of me somehow being able to have like.... ten emotes in that server#some of them were just me joking and then mods encouraging me#cause i used to use felix for every single art prompt theyd give and one week someone said the prompt was pog#and i just was so upset because dude why would i wanna draw felix for that hes not pog#so a mod was like hey if you make a pog felix emote we ill add it to the emotes here#so i once again was like bet and then posted it and then they really added it lmao#anyway sorry for so many rambles please feel free to use them on discord in whatever server#i cant really expect everyone to credit me but also im not really concerned since i fear people know my nands a mile away

the way sam almost kissed dean and literally offered himself up to him without hesitation in playthings. his smug “so, we didn’t get along then, huh? i thought it was supposed to be this perfect fantasy” (“you want to fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid”) in what is and what should never be. the fact that he seemed almost unsurprised when the siren said “it was you. a little brother that looked up to him…”
he knows how bad dean wants to rail him

i really hope sonic's attitude gets checked by the end of the series though fr. like this whole time he's been sooo adamant about the shattered copies of his friends being HIS friends. when that's just not true. and forcing that image onto them isn't right or fair. shadow was fucking right when he said they weren't the same people, and i hope sonic ends up agreeing with him and able to see the different versions of his friends as their own individuals. especially since nine himself said to STOP calling him tails. like be serious, sonic </3

I think I would need to reread the first book to really commit to this opinion but imo some of the horror of book!claudia is that she really is a terribly inhuman monster. she was a vampire child, so she never learned to be human. she was a vampire child so she'll never grow up and fulfill that potential. companionship is a necessity for her because she can't look after herself and that makes her bitter and disdainful of people who want love for its own sake, especially in the context of Louis and Lestat, who damned her to her current state to fulfill their own emotional needs. it's a stark contrast to show Claudia, who yes, is a vicious mass murdering vampire and has fun with it, but is otherwise a lonely woman who craves companionship and understanding because she's a person. Her beef with Louis is still about his failure to prioritize her and his assorted bad idea relationship choices but the undertones are so different and I really feel like the tragedy is that he didn't put her first and not that he could never have made her happy no matter what he chose.
#tbh i think claudia in the book is perfectly capable of love she's just furious all the time#but there's definitely a particular monstrosity/eatrangement from humanity#which in terms of the other vamps. lol maybe she's just honest!#howevvver#i say again u would not catch her getting love bombed into a theatre cult#she is simply not vulnerable to that particular trap#at the same time i think it honestly was about book claudia. at least more than it's about show claudia. she engineered a situation where#louis had to choose and he did! she had the opportunity to make up with lestat basically whenever and she didn't because she was furious#and unwilling to put up with him.#valid! but imo a much less desperate situation than claudia in the show#who is also i think dealing with a much more serious betrayal#like tell me if i'm wrong but book claudia clocks that he won't give them up without a fight from the get go#in kind of a game recognizes less competent game kind of way#whereas show claudia really thought she could show up and ask louis to leave with her. and if he agreed that would be that#and i think the violence she receives and witnesses in return is what really ruptures their relationship for good. she was mad about the#diaries and the boyfriend and the general state of her existence but unlike book! claudia i genuinely don't think she'd have tried to hurt#him if he hadn't done that. whereas book claudia would gut him for funsies#maybe even a little affectionately if he didn't make her too mad first. however it's lestat he was always going to make her mad moot point#god i love show claudia but book claudia really is an absolutely singular character i should reread just for her#either way always thinking about Her#press says iwtv#interview with the vampire#the vampire claudia

i need to go to sleep. anyways whenever people rag on sally in archie it makes me kind of sad because i KNOW her writing sucks. i KNOWW i know i know. its sexist and reductive and it limits her agency and makes her story revolve around romance about one billion times more than it should. but i loooove her. shes not a perfect leader either! like shes not GOING to be someone who never worries about “frivolous” things, who’s always focused on a bigger goal and who never fucks up her personal relationships for dumb reasons because she was scared and selfish. the things she did in archie werent written in to give her depth they were written in because shes a GIRL and girls are EMOTIONAL and OBSESSED WITH BOYS. but i think her closest friend died and she had one of the worst years of her life and she grew out her hair even though she hated it that long and suddenly he shows back up like nothings wrong and shes terrified of losing him again even though its fucking selfish and stupid of her and she’d never say that! why the hell would she say that she doesnt think that. sonic wouldnt want that *she* wouldnt even want that. but everything is messed up and bad so she said it anyways like she meant it, and she felt horrible about it for months. what kind of leader of mobius’ only force against robotnik says something like that! well the teenaged kind. fuckk. anyways. sally

insane that people hate mitzi may and completely misunderstand her entire character but will reduce everyone else in the show to ‘my poor meow meow’ who ‘has mental health issues’ and ‘is being taken advantage of by mitzi or some other figure so they can’t be held responsible for their actions’ … people really see a grieving woman struggling and will just villainize her huh!

Should we care about actor’s lives outside of their careers? E.g. if an actor you like watching gets a DUI, would you feel obligated to not watch any of their further works.? Or is there a separation between their work, their lives, thru political opinions, etc? sorry idk if that made sense
I think this is a matter of personal conviction. Personally, I tend to draw a pretty stark line in the sand between an actor and his work, for a few reasons:
There is a lot more that goes into a production than a single actor's work. Someone wrote it, someone directed it, multiple other people acted in it, someone scored it, someone edited it, etc. A Hollywood film has hundreds-to-thousands of people working on it, and the majority of them do not make more than 6 figures.
The actor is going to get paid for his work whether I watch it or not. The contract has already been signed. Sure, there are royalties, etc., but the lion's share has already been paid.
If I were to boycott all movies with pervy, crooked actors, I'd never watch another movie again (and that includes the old classics).
That's not an exhaustive list. But just off the top of my head, Harvey Weinstein, Lena Dunham, Armie Hammer, Woody Allen are all super wack people, but I still watch their movies. Why? Because Midnight in Paris is a genuinely good film about a genuinely good story. Because The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is a gorgeously created caper, and Hammer's performance in it is particularly captivating; why? Because we forget it is Armie Hammer we're watching and not Ilya Kuryakin.
The reason the best stories get passed down through generations is that they transcend the flaws of the people who first told them. We know well enough that Shakespeare was a flawed man, and some have decided to do away with him entirely on that basis. Those people would like to pretend that the course of history is innately virtuous instead of depraved. The sane way to view history (and art), is to seek the good where it exists in spite of the people or culture who created it.
That said, I can understand some folks' urge to boycott a certain movie due to the wicked actions of certain of its creators, and I'm not going to call that wrong. It's a threshold for each person to decide for themselves, but it is a threshold. You're not going to find a perfectly pure movie.

watching ppl's reactions to bl4's presentation and remembering vids i watched recently from before wonderlands came out. like oooooh ok that's why this game failed. bc ppl really really put their hopes up into things that would take years to code in these games' system that the devs in no way even hinted to be there, got disappointed, and blamed it on said devs. like i mentioned before that there's a big disconnect between blands' playerbase's expectations and gearbox's intentions but seeing it in action sure is Something

My foundational read on the Star Wars prequels/TCW/other stuff set in that era (and I don't think this is even in the spirit of reading against the text, so much as just...expanding on themes already present) is that Anakin becomes Darth Vader when he slaughters the Tuskens, and the Republic becomes the Empire when it goes to war to preserve its access to the territory and resources of planets that - when you strip away the narrative device of the Separatist leaders' cackling villainy - have textually valid reasons for wanting to leave. Sure, maybe there was a grace period where the man and/or the government could have been hauled back up the ledge they'd already stepped over. But the fall happens in Attack of the Clones; everything in ROTS, everything in TCW, is just Palpatine consolidating his power.
Which does break a bunch of those big broadly sketched light/dark, good/evil, jedi/sith binaries that the space opera is playing with, so I fully get why people who are responding to that part of the story might find my takes baffling or off-putting. But I also think a good bit of the weird dissonance of the PT is that of a story that is trying to have its cake and eat it too, and what I'm responding to is the political thriller half of the equation, and I think it's legit to say you prefer the mythic space opera side of things but not to insist that's the only valid way to read the text.

an unfortunate complication of life is that "it can be helpful to pay attention to your actual feelings, not what you think you should be feeling, and see what information you can draw from that" and "just because you feel something does not mean it is factually true, sometimes you can feel unsafe/anxious/threatened etc. without being actually being in a situation where you are not safe" are both good and true pieces of advice

theres a response on the male suicide post that goes basically "it's not that men aren't allowed to show feelings, it's that men show emotion differently from women which isn't accepted" and I'm sure there is something to that but it's funny to me because i have four straight older sisters with what i'd call average rates of romantic relationships and every single boyfriend that's made it through our family in the last 30 years have had more classical displays of emotion than my sisters have.
which is deeply anecdotal and probably says more about my family than anything else. still funny.
ofc it doesnt matter because to my understanding it's got very little to do with how feelings are shown vs how feelings are recognized, validated, processed or regulated.
