At long last the stars have aligned and I can finally Amypost, so I bring you:
Every single thought I have ever had about Amy Dallon ever
- There's a lot of things I like about Amy. I like the trope of 'healers but fucked up', I love her powers and character design, and enjoy what her character brings to the worldbuilding, powerbuilding and narrative.
And then wildbow wrapped it all up in a layer of lesbiaphobia, foregoing the slippery slope and diving straight into the 'predatory gay' trope, spawning discource for years to come and winning Amy the crown of 'most problematic gay' in the process.
- Amy, like a vast majority of worms cast, is a horribly traumatised teenager, and thusly, does some fucked up stuff due to that trauma. Setting out to make her worse than canon feels like you're doing the character a disservice, and buying into Amy's own insecurities about herself
- I don't believe that what Amy did to Victoria was an act of incest on Amy's part but Victoria is victim of incest
- I had to look up how old she was for this bc I realised I didn't know, apparently in worm she's 17? Wild
- If I ever was to pokemon au her, I'd give her a shiny mimikyu (Victoria would have a pikachu/pikaclone, probably emolga), for the symbolism and it fits her colour scheme well
- I don't really think about Amy that much, this is the most I've thought about her ever really, which i feel like is a little bit of a shame. Homophobic tropes aside I do rlly enjoy what this character had to offer (in worm. I am only reading ward if someone pays me) and I think that she would've be one of my favourites in different circumstances. But I really don't want to deal with the fandom discource surrounding her so ill return to avoiding the Amy dallon cube once more

it's been.... many months and i am back with another batch of pokemon teams in my hq pokemon au!
seijoh four edition
oikawa: ninetales, lucario, nidoking, emolga, mawile, sawsbuck
pokemon trainer, of course. his goal right now is to beat the current champion (ushijima) who he totally doesn't have a grudge against. he's challenged him once, and beat the elite four, and is currently preparing for another go at it.
he doesn't hate dragon type pokemon but he has developed an aversion to having any on his team because it was ushijima's advice to him when he lost against them. i also like to imagine this is a rivalry they've had since before ushijima became champion so it's not just... oikawa lost once and is salty forever now lol.
i did take types into account somewhat, at least defensively, but this is mostly just... vibes? pokemon i think oikawa would like having on his team and that i think suit him. lucario is because, like with suga and kageyama, i wanted him to have a pokemon that evolves with high friendship! a way to symbolize one of the things he's better than kageyama at in canon. i will fully admit that nidoking is me shoving in the 'grand king' thing. but!!! he suits him. emolga is simply because i remember getting really pissed off at trainers with emolga when i was playing pokemon white so naturally oikawa had to have one.
iwaizumi: arcanine, heracross, tyranitar, joltik, ceruledge, togedemaru
this is also just vibes... after giving oikawa a pikaclone i was like omg what if i gave iwa one too... <- arcanine and ninetales were already supposed to be their little counterpart pokemon. oh well they get two i guess. joltik and togedemaru are besties. joltik likes to sit on iwa's head.
tyranitar and arcanine were both iwa's first pokemon!! his big guys that he babies so much. this is according to oikawa. iwaizumi denies this. (but oikawa is right)
ceruledge is because... it's a knight and i think that suits iwaizumi for obvious reasons. and well. i don't like armarouge's design lol so ceruledge it is <3 and i love fire/ghost types.
as for his role in the au, he's just a trainer traveling with oikawa. they do double battles a lot. iwaizumi has all of the gym badges but hasn't pursued challenging the elite four, it's not necessarily something he has a lot of interest in. he likes entering tournaments though.
matsukawa: chandelure, haunter, bisharp, morpeko, grafaiai
first off, i have decided to give the seijoh four all pikaclones to mirror the karasuno third years all have eeveelutions hehe. i think it's cute :p and they ended up all being the dual types too which i think adds to it somehow... or at least differentiates them from the other characters i gave pikaclones to haha.
some ghost types because of what he does in canon! which might be what he's pursuing in this au too? or maybe he later decides to settle down in a haunted house to look after some ghost types... that could be cool. bisharp because i think he's cool. that's it.
(oikawa is not a big fan of his haunter because he messes with him a lot. <- guy who pokemon just like to mess with. see: suga's aipom)
hanamaki: dedenne, impidimp, maractus, mareanie
other than dedenne, i don't have much reasoning for these guys? just guys i think he would like. smaller team because i imagine, like matsukawa, he doesn't battle as much as iwaizumi and oikawa do. he does it for fun but that's about it. he's not really sure what it is he wants to do. he's still trying to figure that part out.
impidimp gets along pretty well with matsukawa's haunter. they both make oikawa's life worse.

Would you kindly do a review on the pidove line?
Tumblr media
I gotta admit, I'm not a huge early-route bird Pokemon person. There's typically nothing objectively wrong with them; it's just that they fall into the pikaclone issue where they're usually just Pokemon-style birds, without a whole lot going on for them in terms of visual interest or themes. They're fine, just kind of bland.
With that said though, I do like Pidove here just fine. I have a soft spot for doves, so this design does a good job capturing the charm of them (and the spaciness, judging by the 'dex entries). I love the little heart on the chest and how it parallels the pink flesh around the break, and the expression is charming and reflects its friendly personality. It's nothing spectacular, but for a pigeon Pokemon, it does its job fine.
Also, please take a moment to admire this TCG art while we're here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately Tranquill has the middle-evo issue of mostly being a fusion between the pre- and post-evos. It has one or two things unique to it—the shape of the pink area, the "hair" at the back of the head—but it mostly just exists to transition between Pidove and Unfezant. It's fine, but there's nothing that would make someone like it more than the rest of the line other than minor aesthetic preferences.
Also, the deep pinkish red around the eyes is odd when you consider the line's sexual dimorphism. It makes sense if it evolves into a male Unfezant; Pidove's light pink becomes a brighter reddish shade before becoming an entire wattle. But if it's female, it gains a deeper shade of reddish-pink before abruptly loosing it again. It might've been best just to leave it the same shade as the legs so it still makes sense with either gender.
Tumblr media
I am only now realizing than Unfezant is a play on "unpleasant". I had always been pronouncing it oon-fezant until now, go figure.
Anyway, Unfezant is pretty decent for what it is. I like the patterns on the wings and tail in particular; having a lot of markings is not something we see on Pokemon very often, and the way they play off the shapes of the wings and tail really looks nice, especially with that tiny spot of color at the base of the tail. I also like how the faces retain the heart-shaped marking from Pidove.
The male in particular starts to gain some unique bird-of-paradise wattles, which gives it a bit more of a monster-y flair than most early birds have. I'm also always a big fan of correct sexual dimorphism, wherein instead of basing the differences on human gender binaries, they take inspiration from IRL animals (in this case, the male being extremely gaudy while the female is very plain).
Visually, though, I think I (ironically) like the female more. I like what the male is going for, but the shape of the wattles always looked weird to me; it's supposed to be skin, but it looks more like it's wearing a paper mask due the lack of any depth or texture to it. I'm also personally not a big fan of the green and pink combo—would've preferred one or the other—but they do seem to be basing it on ringneck pheasants so I'll give it a pass.
Tumblr media
Also, the stomach markings bother me a bit. It's weird to have such unique shaped patterns on most of the body, only to suddenly use a realistic mottled texture on the stomach; it makes the design feel disjointed. I would've expected the stomach color to be bordered by either the scallop shape on the wings or the lines on the tail.
So overall, these are some fine early-game birds; nothing ground breaking but nothing bad. Pidove has a lot of charm, Tranquill is harmless but just exists to be a transition, and Unfezant has some unique colors and markings on the males, though the females are better as a whole. This might honestly be one of my favorite early bird lines, but then again, that's not saying much.

New Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, my thoughts! Spoilers obviously.
A bit of a disclaimer but I haven't seen most of these in motion, and sometimes a species' entire quirk or charm appeal is conveyed by gameplay, so it's very possible I may change my tune about many of these later on.
So, for starters... the starters! I actually think they are all pretty good this gen!
*Sprigatito line: you know me, I was hoping it would go bipedal and luckily it got a pretty cool theme going on as a magician. That's fun.
*Fuecoco line: HONESTLY in love with these. I thought the egg that the second stage carries was a sombrero when I first saw it, so I was worried it'd be another Ludicolo situation, but I love the idea of a croc Pokémon that also comes with An Additional Creature to mimick how crocs will sometimes ferry a bird and allow it to pick stuff off their teeth. It's a very inventive idea ESPECIALLY for a starter! My first playthrough pick for sure.
Quaxly line: The ugly duckling of sorts evolves into a very flamboyant peacock-duck hybrid. It's got pretty cool animations, seeming to always be dancing. Miror B is sweating.
*Pawmi line: Honestly a pretty good visual demonstration of why Pikaclones don't usually evolve. I like the idea of its ability, but design wise these could have very easily been one or two stages.
*Smoliv line: Honestly? Outsold. The final evolution was one I didn't think they would have made that cool, but it actually rocks.
*Wattrel line: The first stage is pretty boring, which is kind of a pattern this gen, but I love the second one being a frigate bird with an electric sac. Another one I want for my team.
*Nacl line: MINECRAFT.
*Maschiff line: Honestly my first disappointment. I liked the first stage, but the second doesn't change a lot except for losing the fun coloration? they both kinda just look like an irl dog. Not very exciting.
*Greavard line: I think the first stage was universally beloved, but the second is gonna be polarizing. That said, I'm a HUGE fan. I love how it actually evolved into a spooky creacher with a skeletal look, and I can't not admire the gumption of how its disguise-candle became A TOMBSTONE.
*Lechonk line: Lechonk evolving to be yassified was unexpected but very fun. I like both its gender dysmorphic (maybe) forms, they're simple but very cute.
*Fidough line: Honestly just very good and cute. Making it a dachshund was a good decision and it has a fun ability to play off its design as a toasted bun.
*Tarountula line: I've seen a lot of hate for it but while the first one is kind of underwhelming, I was the only one in that group who got the soldier motif and I think the evolution is great. This gen has great bugs and I'm always happy to see that.
*Nymble line: Kamen Rider grasshoppers. I don't think I need to explain why that's cool.
*Flittle line: BABY. A LOT of mons this gen are microorganisms, and it doesn't always work but I do love this one. Garrish colors match the psychic type well, and its ostrich evolution is super cool.
*Finizen line: First form is cute and simple and we were late indeed for a dolphin Pokémon... sadly, its evolution kind of sucks, not gonna lie... I don't think anyone in the thread liked it at all. Everyone was saying it has an alternate evolution, but it turned out to be more of a form change that makes its evolved form BECOME the Super Hero Dolphin.
*Gimmighoul line: This is one I don't quite know what to think of yet, but if anything, I admire the creativity to make That what it turns into, even if I'm not personally sure I like it. Certainly one of the more outlandish designs this gen.
*Tinkatink line: VERY fun to have a pink cute creature wielding a huge steel hammer. I like that it's going through its Joker Arc. And with THAT move? Girlboss.
*Flamigo: Guys this is quite literally just the animal. Like, outright. I'm not sure what was the idea, but also I DID hear it looks more fun in motion so who knows.
*Tandemaus line: Just Two Guys. I think they're cute, and the fact that they just have kids when they evolve is cute, but also their individual designs are too simple in my opinion.
*Squawkabilly: VERY good. So good, in fact, that it was also my idea for my own fanregion, so... so much for that! The Rockabilly aesthetic is fun.
*Rellor line: I thought I wasn't going to like what they were doing with the dung beetle 'mon but damn that evolution looks amazing.
*Bombirdier: AAAAUGGGG BOMBER CRANE MY BELOVED.
*Bramblin line: Same deal with Rellor that I think the base form looks whatever but the evolution is great.
*Orthworm: I agree with a friend who said it shouldn't have eyes or mouth (certainly not both bc it looks like a snake otherwise) but I'm more mystified by how it summons pseudofeet from its collar. I dig it though.
*Tatsugiri & Dondozo: VERY FUN. A fish Pokémon who pretends it's a teeny piece of sushi but then commandeers a big catfish from inside? It even comes in different colors.
*Glimmet line: I need 7 of these in my room Thank You.
*Varoom line: The Team Star car engine WAS a Pokémon all along! We were right!!!
*Shroodle line: WHAT IS UP WITH GRAFAIAI'S PRE-EVO LMFAO
*Frigibax line: LOVE it. Classic case of awkward first and second stage dragons who become great, an ice type spinosaurus in their case, let's goooooo.
*Paldean Wooper line: GREAT remix of a great Pokémon. A large plush of Clodsire could fix me.
*Paldean Tauros: I had a feeling we were gonna have less Regional Variants from how they've only shown us 1 officially thus far. This said, I think the base form for it is very boring - it's just a black Tauros with slightly shorter horns and one less tail... LUCKILY, this one has two separate forms. Fire/Fighting and Water/Fighting and I do think both look very cool.
*Annihilape: Primeape got so angry it died oh my god. It looks very badass, too.
*Kingambit: Super cool. Bisharp was a good pick for an evolution. Don't have much to say on it.
*Dudunsparce: While I think Dunsparce getting an evolution will make a lot of people happy, I've seen many disappointed it didn't turn into like a Dragon or whatever. I think the idea of a Big and Bigger Dunsparce is funny. I like this one and think it's a better fit for a tsuchinoko.
*Wiglett line: Wiglett is a funny fella, and Wugtrio turned into pretty much exactly what I imagined it would.
*Toedscool line: The other convergent line, Toedscool is amazing, honestly. A mushroom Pokémon that looks like a Tentacool and Tentacruel is such a cool idea. To see what you assume to be a jellyfish walking on land is great.
*Legendary Quartet: Rapid-fire thoughts but I like the idea that all of these are sealed and their vessels are incorporated in their designs. Individually: Snow Leopard outsold. I don't know what I'm looking at with the Deer. The flame Fish seems like it could use more workshopping. The Snail is an absolute legend (literally) and my friend.
*Paradox Pokémon: REALLY COOL MECHANIC. I like them more than megas tbh. I have no idea why they waited until now to reveal them. I know some are disappointed that Violet's all share a theme of looking robotic, but I still think they look better than other Scarlet ones and I think robots are cool. I understand that they have Titles instead of names and I do think it's cool but I'm gonna refer to them as the Paradox forms of the Pokémon they're based on, even if they're not form changes per se. Individually:
*Paradox Donphan: I think the Scarlet version one looks cooler, because the Violet one kinda doesn't look like an elephant anymore.
*Paradox Volcarona: These are both amazing. I think a Volcarona that takes more after Larvesta is a good idea, and the Violet one looks almost like an angelic robot which rocks, and the Poison type is a plus.
*Paradox Jigglypuff: I do really like how not all Paradoxes are fully evolved Pokémon but I do think this one's a flop.
*Paradox Misdreavus: See above and what I said about Scarlet's.
*Paradox Gallavoir: This one is. Awesome! Essentially an androgynous robot version of a Gallade+Gardevoir fusion who's Fairy/Fighting. Nothing could be cooler.
*Paradox Delibird: HOW they managed to make Delibird cool is beyond me but they sure did do it!
*Paradox Magneton: Magneton with legs is CRAZY. I Iove it.
*Paradox Hariyama: Not my favorite still but it looks much cooler than its OG self.
*Paradox Salamence: The clear favorite and for a good reason, too. It looks amazing. I get why many Violet preorders were canned over it. It's cool how it kinda retroactively explains its Mega too.
*Paradox Hydreigon: I am legit surprised they made a Robot Hydreigon but DIDN'T use its beta design from BW's development, as it was going to be a tank. That said, it still looks dope
*Paradox Amoonguss: I love this thing. Not the most dramatic change from its present self but it's ok by me.
*Paradox Tyranitar: MY personal favorite. It has such a good color scheme with what look like LED spikes on its body. It's also very clearly based on Mecha Godzilla (and the RoboTyranitar from Pokéstar studios) and IIIII adore it.

Pikachu Pals, I choose you! For Pokemon Unite!
So, when the game launched, we had pokemon from every type represented in some shape or form. Filling out the Type Chart is easy enough, unless you have a limited number of slots to launch the game with. To that effect, a lot of these initial type reps had to be condensed, which is why Garchomp and Crustle shouldered the burden of repping two types at once for a while.
However, over the course of a few years, we've been receiving pokemon from multiple generations and types, giving us more variety for those of us who like the types but not necessarily the pokemon we can use. Garchomp is now no longer the sole Dragon and Ground type of Pokemon Unite, and Crustle is finally glad that there have been more Rock and Bug Types to party with.
And then there's the Electric Types, who have yet to gain a new teammate since the launch of the game. Pikachu and Zeraora are good company and perfectly adaptable, but after all this time, it'd be nice to have some new faces to amp things up.
To that end, I've decided to make a poll featuring all the electric types that anyone would want to see in Pokemon Unite. But which one do you want to join the game the most?
Now, right away, you might notice that there's something up with this poll, and you'd be correct. These are all Pikachu pokemon, or Pikaclones as some players wantonly use. This is a poll to get the opinions on which is the next Electric Type you'd like to see join Pokemon Unite. If I had made a list of Electric Types proper without all of these polarized pokemon, I'm sure I would've gotten loads of comments asking me why isn't Pika clone number 5 on the list.
As such, this will be a two part poll. The most popular choice of Electric Type listed here will be included in the follow up poll, being pitted against other Electric Types that might want to join Pokemon Unite. If your favorite Electric Type of all time is on this poll, make sure you stick around for this poll and the next one when it shows up, and vote and spread the word through reblogs.
A few things I should bring up. If you vote for Plusle and Minun, you'll be happy to know that I have made a theoretical post on them in Pokemon Unite and how they would play as a pair of Supporters.
Now, if you vote for Pawmot, then I should let you know that Pawmot did very poorly in the last poll it was in, tallying in at 9th place out of 75 votes. 9th place might be bad, but it might even be worse when you consider that Palafin, who got 10th place, didn't get any votes whatsoever. If you want to tip the scales in your favor, then you know what to do; reblog and show this poll to all your Pawmot-loving friends to avoid another crushing defeat.
And with that said, let the voting begin!

ok since i’m so hyped here are my predictions for mikus pokemon and designs (and vocaloP) for project voltage: (disclaimer, the vocaloP choices are probably super unrealistic im not super knowledgeable on vocaloP and i don’t know who they could reasonably get this is just my very limited and biased view)
👁️‍🗨️psychic: meloetta (already confirmed)
🌊water: primarina (already confirmed)
🔥fire: skeledirge (already confirmed)
🌱grass: rillaboom (already confirmed)
⚪️normal: ok i’m gonna be pissed if either normal or fairy isn’t jigglypuff. fits the music/singing theme perfectly AND is pokemon #39 which is the miku number. if they’re cowards or put jigglypuff in the fairy slot, then i could see exploud or chatot for the music theme or maybe even lopunny for the twintails? oh or obv farfetchd cuz it was in the kei art. probably farfetchd.
this design might be closest to regular miku. or they take it in a lass/schoolgirl direction?
Oster project would be cute for this one i think! or 40mp
❄️ice: Alolan Vulpix, cuz there was already a pokemon x miku crossover with alolan vulpix. maybe lapras or frosslass or amaura tho if they don’t go with that.
gotta be tons of pale blue, maybe some pink thrown in. i wonder if they’re gonna go with the cute route or the elegant route. ooh maybe she’ll be snow miku-y
or oster project for this one lmaoo
👻ghost: i can’t wait to see this one. it’s kinda hard to pick tho? i could see oricorio, but that might be used for the flying spot. gengar is basically the ghost type pokemon so i could see that as well, but i think it’s gonna be rotom. i’ve seen fanmade rotom mikus before and they’re perfect. i hope it’s that
this miku is gonna be so spookyyyy. i’m thinkin a lil mischievous and sharp teeth and stuff. wispy twintails. ik she’s an electric gym leader but iono vibes
dudeeee if they got mafumafu for this one it’d go so harddddd. they got him to do the anime op a few years ago i really hope he’s part of this collab. syudo would go hard for ghost too
🐛bug: frosmoth? illumise? maybe kriketune for the music theme… idk this one’s tough. final answer frosmoth.
hmm this one’s hard. i hope they make her a lil nerdy. give her round glasses or smth
oohhh i could see pinocchio p for the bug type one. i really hope he’s part of this he’s my favorite vocaloP
😈dark: i’m feelin obstagoon on this one bc of the music theme. maybe absol or morpeko tho.
yess this miku is gonna be so intense. heavy makeup and spikey collars and shit hell yeah. piers from swsh vibes for sure
syudo!!!!!
⚡️electric: very well could be pikachu. it’s just a shoo in at this point. if not, then toxtricity bc of the music theme, or a pikaclone like pachirisu maybe.
probably leaning into the android/digital theme. definitely super energetic. iono vibes
giga??? giga would be perfect
👊fighting: it’s gotta be sirfetchd right? leek and all. idk if they’d wanna do two pokemon from the same line if they do farfetch’d for normal or flying. or i mean, they could be lame and go for pirouette form meloetta ig… quaquaval? iron valiant miku would go hard tho
…. the only thing that comes to mind for design is seraphim on the ring miku lmaoooo
that makes me want to say mitchie m but i have no clue lmaooo
🧚‍♀️fairy: like i said, jigglypuff. if they put jigglypuff in the normal slot, then i could see gardevoir or togekiss. i would also love tinkaton miku tho. it does kinda have twintails
obv very pink! super adorable. i feel like her eyes are gonna be big and either sparkly or kinda empty like valeries from x and y lol
hmmm maybe toa?
🧲steel: ok hear me out. metang. her twintails could look like it’s arms. realistically, i think they’d more likely go metagross in that case tho even tho it has four arms. maybe klink? it’s got miku color in it. cobalion also has miku color. honedge? magearna miku would go hard too. final answer is metagross tho
maybe kinda robot-y? idk we definitely getting some cool grays and teal tho
nayutalien maybe idk i get the vibes.
🪨rock: amaura or arourus probably. i could also see diancie tho
ok i’m kinda stumped on a design and vocaloP for this one tho. genres definitely gonna be rock tho.
🗻ground: this one’s tough. palpitoad/seismatoad fit the music/sound theme but they’re ugly so i’m doubtful. could go for the fan favorite in wooper/quagsire but idk if they would. idk if wooper has the same impact in japan as he does here. nidoqueen maybe? final answer wooper ig
also kinda stumped.
🪽flying: could be farfetchd. i kinda forgot it was also a flying type. i would love oricorio miku tho. ideally with parts of each form incorporated into her design, but if they just stuck to one form, i’d say pom pom for the vibes or sensu for the color.
oooh we gettin a lil adorable ditzy mikuuuu we got the light blues for sure. skyla from black and white vibes
could see oster project for this one too lmao
☠️poison: ROSERADE MIKU WOULD GO SO HARDDDD. i think it’s unlikely tho :( most likely it’s gonna be toxtricity if he’s not used in the electric slot. if he is, then maybe toxapex or drapion?
i feel like they’re gonna go with a roxie from bw2 vibe for this one and i’m so here for it.
deco*27 i feel
🐉dragon: ok i’m like 75% sure it’s gotta be altaria right? the other 25% is dragonair. i hope it’s altaria tho i love altaria
ok if it’s altaria maybe they’ll do lisia from ora’s vibes i could see that. if not maybe we get dragon trainer miku? clair from johto vibes??? that would go hard ngllll
idk for this one ngl….
anyway i can’t wait to see how wrong i am :D i’m in love with project voltage aaaaa

+++++++
Enchantra, the Wizardly Nakamon
Type: Psychic-Fairy

Type: Fairy-Steel
Category: Ordinary
NakaDex Entry: Now stronger than ever, Knightlaya is the Nakamon’s definition of a loyal, valiant knight, inspired by knights in shining armor; Knightlaya will appear cute and frilly as its original stage, Knightsy, but with armor plates on their head and arms, wielding a blade of energy, Knightlaya won’t back down in a fight, even if it is sworn to protect Nakamon and people no matter the type, and it is also known to have a spiritual and close bond with Sorcera’s, Enchantra’s, and the aforementioned Knightsy’s…
+++++++
Dyoxa, the Reformation Nakamon
Type: Fairy-Psychic-(???)
Category: Mythical
NakaDex: Unknown. It is unknown to man and Nakamon alike whether it is considered a Nakamon or an alien, people say that Dyoxa could be the last pieces of Deoxys formed into a new creature by Arceus, while some people also say that both Deoxys and Arceus created Dyoxa, but no ones knows. What people notice is that it can disguise itself as either a human or Pokemon, a perfect silhouette of the person or Pokemon but only one difference that takes the disguise away is Dyoxa’s color scheme replacing the original’s, it’s like recoloring a character as a different person but vice versa.
+++++++
Oka-Ime, the Raised One Nakamon
Type: Fairy-Grass-Psychic
Category: Mythical
NakaDex Entry: A keeper of the forest and watcher of the Grass-type Nakamon, Oka-Ime is said to be once a priestess of two boar Nakamon and Arceus, but after the tragic “disappearance” of the two boar Nakamon, Oka-Ime is never seen. People, upon seeing the mythical Nakamon, mistake Oka-Ime as a human wearing a wolf’s hide due to Oka-Ime’s humanoid form under the wolf skin. Oka-Ime, though territorial and protective, will have nice conversations with other Mythicals, like Celebi or Jirachi, and will understand the Mythical’s struggles, Oka-Ime can even sense when someone is nearby, like a curious trainer or a curious Nakamon or Pokemon, and can sense whether someone is a friend or foe by their spiritual energy. Though silent, Oka-Ime can communicate to humans through telepathy, though it is considered rare for Oka-Ime to trust a human, but if the human is respectful and cares for nature as Oka-Ime does; Oka-Ime will befriend the human, just don’t mess up the forests, destroying the forest will consider you a threat towards Oka-Ime and other Nakamon and Pokemon. And some people even say that Oka-Ime is the reincarnation of the girl raised by wolves, or the Wolf Princess, but it depends on its context.
+++++++
Hooplina, the Genie Nakamon
Type: Psychic-Ghost-Fairy
Category: Mythical
NakaDex Entry: A split-Evo of Hoopa, the Mischief Pokemon, Hooplina, unlike Hoopa, is shy and doesn’t normally talk to strangers, but if lightened up and comfortable; Hooplina is considered social, well-behaved, and will grant you wishes, literally and metaphorically, even healing and redeeming people from their misdeeds and mistakes, aside from the well-behaved attitude of this Nakamon; the only traits Hooplina carries from Hoopa is that Hooplina can form rings that can act like portals, whether for travel or for bringing in objects from other places. If you give your Hoopa exposure to or reached a high level of friendship, love, and affection, it’ll evolve into Hooplina, but nonetheless for the unbound form of Hoopa; unbound Hoopa stays the same. And another thing, Hoopa will evolve differently if you don’t expose it to love and affection.
+++++++
Hooplano, the Majnun Nakamon
Type: Dark-Psychic-Ghost
Category: Mythical
NakaDex Entry: A split-Evo of Hoopa, the Mischief Nakamon, Hooplano has not only traits of Hoopa but also traits from Hoopa’s unbound form, after experiencing the exposure of being abandoned and neglected; Hooplano has gained a hatred against humans and has malicious intentions, like Hoopa; Hooplano has the power to form rings that act like portals, whether to travel or to obtain objects from other places, but unlike Hoopa; Hooplano gains the power to hypnotize and possess people, making the one who got possessed by Hooplano its “trainer”, but Hooplano can still be redeemed, if one has a Hooplina with them; Hooplina will try and redeem Hooplano from Hooplano’s hatred against humans, and make Hooplano learn more and better about people. How to obtain Hooplano is quite difficult, to obtain Hooplano; you must have both Hooplina and Hoopa on your team and head over to an unmarked island with a cave that’s been blocked by a boulder, on that boulder is a seal, so you must remove the seal and the boulder will turn into sand, once the cave is open; Hooplano will come out and rather than the Nakamon befriending you; you’ll have to fight it, and once you win; bring out your Hooplina and Hoopa to sympathize and redeem Hooplano, and yeah that’s how you catch a Hooplano.
(But in most cases; people don’t use both Hoopa or Hooplina, most people just use one or the other.)

13. Which evil team is your favorite?
Oh Teams Aqua and Magma for sure.
23. What is your favorite pikaclone?
I really like Pawmot to be honest. Before this generation I probably would have said Emolga.
26. If you could make a region based off of anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I was just talking about this with a friend. I think a huge region based on Central and South America would be amazing.
27. If you could create one new Pokémon, what would it be?
Just one? 😭 I really want a feathered serpent Pokémon and no Dunsparce does not count. I would also like a Kirin Pokémon, a tiger Pokémon (I’ve now been teased with this twice and had the ball dropped both times), and I have a couple of ideas for regional variants.

Okay, pokemon spoilers ahead as I check out the new trailer! Giving a shit about little but the pokemon themselves, but still.
Oh look, there’s the fruit again. Plot of the game clearly a feud between different agricultural guilds.
Looks like the games have different professors. I’m liking Sada more right now, she looks like she does badass shit.
It seems we have a new rival. She looks nice enough, like the green streak in her hair we haven’t got that with with other rivals/companions before.
I hate to be assuming pronouns on this, the first day of Pride, but it’s Nintendo we all know what these fuckers genders are.
Hold on she has a new pokemon! A little orange electric(?) fucker that is giving me mole vibes in the same way Eevee gives fox vibes. It’s clearly not one but, it gives the vibe. Is cute I suppose. Love it just because it’s an electric-type and there’s laws but I’ll need some time to get used to it. I have high hopes for it’s line though, little guy could go places. Presuming it’s not the pikaclone, it could be, it’s got the cheek spots, but normally those are more firmly in the ‘cute’ category and more blatantly a rodent of some type. I hope it’s not it’s gonna need an evo and they never get those.
‘Science is amazing’ guy has been elevated to trailer-worthy, good for him
It looks like you’ll be able to multiplayer the game? Like, up to four people doing their run and the same time maybe? They’re brief on it but I think that’s what they’re going for.
Also, character customization lives! Will it live up to my hefty expectations of “give black people some proper hair variety, give redheads some love, and don’t lock unisex accessories to certain genders”? I have no hope. But still, it’s better than losing it int he generation change.
Listen, not being able to wear glasses in Ultra Sun because I’m being forced to present as a girl to get a fucking skirt has broken me in many ways, let me be. Too fucking queer for that game, still haven’t picked it back up...
Mareep line is back! My electro-sheep children!
Either they are giving us a new pokemon based on I think yew trees or this is supposed to be a Budew-line variant. It’s got the same, thing, going as Budew or really any other bipedal bud critter, but that is clearly a yew berry on it’s head.
Also we can still sneak up on pokemon like in Legends Arceus. So that’s nice.
Piggy!!! It’s a pig it’s a pig it’s a pig it’s a pig
Please stay quadrapedal I don’t care about the stupid cat any more stay on all fours I’m begging I’ve been wanting a new pig since the Tepig line I love them so much and I want one on all fours please if you do this I may even buy a switch and the game used just so I can play Mari and give her a proper boar I’m begging please let have this
Lechonk!!! She’s perfect I love her I want five million the only way this could get better is if she evolved into something quadrapedal that just, grew hams or something, I’m begging please I’ll kill
Is? Is that supposed to be a Chewtle variant? Because it looks the same but the colors aren’t right, Chewtle are obnoxiously bright and watery, at least that I remember... I, guess it could be the new lighting and model? I don’t know that threw me the fuck off
We appear to now have trainer charging stations throughout the landscape. Just, little kiosky stops. Huh.
Not looking too bad...
Wait, legends reveal!
Okay, I’ll give these fuckers look a lot more appealing than the last pair of box legends. The one for Scarlet looks like someone tried to cross an anole, a dragon, some sort’ve water critter probably a salamander which with the colorscheme would make this a fire/dragon type, and a peacock, looks pretty cool, not the coolest thing ever but cool enough to work with. Meanwhile the one for Violet looks like ‘take eastern dragon and make it future robot’, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, still got the puffy chest that’s making me think anole (though maybe I’m just surrounded by too many of them), looks kinda spacey, kinda sparky, so I’m gonna guess electric/dragon or electric/steel. Could be steel/dragon but I don’t think they’re gonna go that way. Both of them look really cool in very different ways, I’m liking them.
And that’s it. Gotta say, not a bad showing. Now I just have to run through Serebii real quick to see what information we’ve got. Give me a minute.
Electric child is called Pawmi which, okay not a bad name. Also confirmed electric child.
“In addition to the electric sacs in its cheeks, Pawmi has electricity-discharging organs on its forepaws. It generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks, then it shocks its opponents by touching them with the pads on its forepaws. Not only is the fur that covers its body good insulation against the cold, but it also serves the purpose of storing electricity. When it feels uneasy, this cautious Pokémon will begin rubbing its cheeks, preparing itself to discharge an electric shock.“
Yeah, looks like it’s gonna be the regional pokeclone then. Shame, waste of what could’ve been a good line. Also apparently it’s a mouse which, I’m sorry it just gives mole vibes.
Smoliv? The grass ones are based on olives? I mean similar shape and yew berries are red not green but I didn’t even think for a second. I’m honestly not as interested now. A yew pokemon would’ve been out of left field but an olive pokemon? That’s just baseline Mediterranean. And given how baseline Smoliv’s design already is... Yeah, not feeling hopeful for that one. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong and I’ll love it but, not right now.
“The oil that comes out of its head has a very strong bitter taste, and it is not suitable for consumption. When startled or attacked, Smoliv will shoot this oil out, slowing its opponent down. It will then seize that moment to run away. In the fruit on its head, Smoliv stores oil made from nutrients it gathers through photosynthesis. As a result, it can go for a week without eating or drinking.? It prefers dry and sunny climates, and it seems to spend its days sunbathing.“
Okay, we cannot harvest the Smoliv for oil. Yet. Gotta admit, like the lore here, that’s a very clever way to justify the production of oil for the line.
Lechonk is normal type, I pretty much expected that and it doesn’t change my bone-deep love for it. Presumably it’s one of our early-route normal types, which could go either way as far as usability but are always at least fun.
“Lechonk uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the most fragrant wild grasses and the richest Berries. As a result of its dining habits, it has come to radiate an aroma resembling herbs that bug Pokémon dislike. If attacked by an opponent and startled, it will charge forward in a panic.? It may appear fat at first glance, but in reality, the Pokémon’s body is mostly muscle built by constantly walking around in search of food.”
!!! I was right! This game is for anosmiacs and anosmiacs only! Smelling nose pig! Also pet bug repellant! And it don’t matter whether the herbs it smells like smell good or bad or how strong it is because this pokemon is being claimed for the world’s anosmiacs I am sticking a flag in it right the fuck now! And Mari is one of my anosmiac OCs so it all works out! They are appealing to me specifically with this!
Legends are Koraidon (for Scarlet) and Miraidon (for Violet), nice names. Again, much better than the last box legends.
Rival is Nemona, I like that name, it fits her.
Game can supposedly be played in any order, which makes sense if they’re doing the ‘you can 4-player this’ thing I guess. It’s Serebii so I believe it but still.
Not too bad, Nintendo and Gamefreak, not too bad...

Pokémon: The Remakinating
Using Google Maps as a Base
If you bothered to read that horrendously long post, if you made it to the bottom, you may have noted that I speculated that you might be able to fit in all of the missing evolutions if you cut out the extra starters. This was idle speculation and I was dead wrong: there are 92 missing evolutions and 45 Pokémon that could be cut if we went after the starters. However, there's far more to this than meets the eye, so I'ma run with the idea.
Additional Evolutions
Like I said, if you were going to include every member of every evolutionary line presented in this Pokédex, you would end up with 92 additional Pokémon. They are (in order of their relative's presentation in the 'dex, then from lowest to highest stage) Pidgeotto, Pidgeot, Igglybuff, Wigglytuff, Persian, Golduck, Gastly, Haunter, Magikarp, Porygon2, Porygon-Z, Dratini, Dragonair, Noctowl, Togetic, Togekiss, Mareep, Flaffy, Azurill, Azumarill, Bonsly, Wynaut, Onix, Scyther, Phanpy, Larvitar, Pupitar, Wurmple, Silcoon, (arguably Cascoon and Dustox by extension and included in the 92), Lombre, Ludicolo, Swellow, Ralts, Gardevoir, Gallade, Aron, Lairon, Wailmer, Feebas, Shuppet, Bagon, Shelgon, Beldum, Metang, Starly, Staravia, Shinx, Luxio, Vespiquen, Flotazel, Lopunny, Gible, Gabite, Riolu, Toxicroak, Swinub, Piloswine, Musharna, Tranquill, Unfezant, Scrafty, Yamask, Zorua, Cinccino, Sawsbuck, Galvantula, Ferroseed, Litwick, Lampent, Axew, Fraxure, Beartic, Deino, Zweilous, Diggersby, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Skiddo, Pangoro, Espurr, Honedge, Doublade, Aromatisse, Slurpuff, Malamar, Heliolisk, Goomy, Sliggoo, Gourgeist, and Noibat. If you want to count Mewtwo as being part of the Mew evolutionary line, then you could raise the number to 93; either way, we're just shy of the 100 Pokémon added in Gen II.
If we were trying to hew as closely to the Google Maps Pokédex as we could, these would be more entitled for inclusion than any other Pokémon. Since that's not our goal, we don't really need to consider them, at least not in that regard. And, indeed, including all 92 would be impossible: by gutting all but nine of the starters, we'd be shy 47 slots, as said. If we also got rid of all Pikaclones (those related to Pikachu and Marill for being different enough), we'd still be missing 42 slots. After this point, it's a question of adding or dropping entries, be they members of evolutionary lines (Munchlax, some of the Eeveelutions) or just whole entries in the 'dex. The pseudo-legendaries when including their evolutions make sense to drop, as the inclusion of only their fully evolved forms was meant to replace legendaries in general and in total is equivalent to all of the Kanto legendaries and pseudo-legendaries, but with their evolutions adds twelve additional Pokémon. Regardless, it can't be fully inclusive and still remain at 151.
But there are other ways of approaching this.
Kanto Replacements: This Pokédex in Context
To date, there have been four or five other attempts at constricting the inflated Pokédex: once with the inception of Gen III, once or twice with the Orre games (but only in what you're allowed to use, not with what's present in the setting), once in Gen V, and once in Gen VIII. Each time, we saw a marked degrading of the quality of work put into each Pokémon -- apart from the Orre games, which weren't developed by Game Freak, weren't on the same development cycle, and have always reused models anyway. The short of it is that not only has Game Freak's development cycle per game shrunk, but they spend less time proportionately on each Pokémon as the Pokédex has expanded. To curb this, I think, in the two times they went strongly for a continuity reboot (Gens III and V), they've recycled Pokémon concepts, knowing full well they'd have to include all of the older Pokémon in the end anyway. Some of these are quite obvious: Audino is Chansey for Gen V. Others are more obscure: Minccino was designed as a replacement for Clefairy as a generically cute creature; Clefairy was created with that as its purpose and only later given an elaborate backstory (hence why it doesn't look like a fairy). There are plenty of others.
In the context of this Pokédex, I think a good number of the included Pokémon act as replacements for ones from Kanto, even if they weren't originally meant as such. Bear in mind that these are minor stretches: we're talking replacing general concepts and roles, not necessarily being one-for-one reduxes.
Togepi, as an egg, replaces Exeggcute.
Sudowoodo is the "regional" tree and thus replaces Exeggutor.
Wobbuffet is a defensive Psychic-type with plenty of status moves; that's Mr. Mime, only without Mr. Mime's ability to work as a weaker Alakazam.
Steelix, as the evolution, replaces Onix.
Scizor, as the evolution, replaces Scyther.
Heracross is paired with Pinsir because of Japanese bug fights. Here, it replaces Pinsir outright.
Miltank is supposed to be the female counterpart to Tauros, but since Tauros existed on its own in Gen I, Miltank effectively replaces it.
Combusken is a moderately-powerful Fire-type with a beak that learns Fighting-type moves. The same is true of Magmar.
Blaziken favors kicking attacks, like Hitmonlee.
The Beautifly line itself replaces Butterfree, even as it is on the whole inferior to it. The additional two members and Dustox's typing, move pool, and concept also replace Venonat and Venomoth.
The Taillow line is a two-stage Normal/Flying bird line with little defensive ability, a lot of speed, and an emphasis on physical attacks; that's the Spearow line, mechanically.
Kirlia on its own is an excessively feminine Pokémon, like Jynx.
The Aggron line is a line of ceratopsians that becomes bipedal; Rhydon was probably retconned into being a rhinoceros during development, with Rhyhorn possibly made to be a pre-evolution, but rhinos and ceratopsians fulfill fundamentally similar roles as each other (convergent evolution).
Milotic's evolution is reminiscent of Gyarados's, but in this context it's more of a Dewgong (a beauty evolving from something not so pretty). I'd also compare it to Goldeen, but...
The Wailord line is an extremely generic marine lifeform line with a peculiar but not terribly interesting gimmick (ball/balloon shapes) and as such follows the design philosophy behind the Goldeen line (generic goldfish + odd horn).
Kecleon replaces Lickitung, obviously.
The Metagross line, like the Klink line, uses the Magnemite line's method of evolution, but does it better.
Luxray, as an electric member of the Panthera genus, takes some bits of Electabuzz (which is based on an oni; it has tiger stripes because oni traditionally wear tiger skins).
Combee is a bee, a la Beedrill; it's just less threatening.
As feminine bunnies that rely on kicks and hitting with their forelimbs, the Buneary line is the equivalent of Nidoran Female and Nidoqueen.
Chatot, as a gimmicky Normal/Flying-type, is this 'dex's Farfetch'd.
Being the more majestic of the two dog-lines, Lucario replaces Arcanine.
I struggled with this one, but I think Croagunk is effectively Poliwrath; the Greninja line is the rest of the Poli- line.
Mamoswine is technically a pig that turns into an elephant/mammoth and is Ground-type. The Diglett line is based on Whak-a-Mole moles, but resemble pigs in their snouts (hence the name "Diglett").
Both Rotom and the Voltorb line are conceptually Mimics: creatures that take the form of inanimate objects. Rotom isn't quite a Mimic in that it technically possesses existing objects rather than taking on their form, but the difference in-game is non-existent. The only thing Rotom doesn't do that Voltorb does is explode.
It's not a great comparison, but the Snivy line, being vines and snakes, replaces both the Ekans line and Tangela.
Munna is intentionally a replacement for Drowzee, as both are baku.
Like I said, Audino is Chansey.
Both the Yamask and the Cubone line have to do with funereal masks.
Ninetales was noted as using glamour long before we got Zoroark; the two lines are just type differences on the idea of kitsune.
As mentioned, the Minccino line was designed to replace the Clefairy line.
Emolga isn't a straight-forward replacement for Zapdos, but they do share a type that was unique in Gen I.
The Chespin line is modeled off of armadillos, for which the Sandshrew line (pangolins) get mistaken. Sandslash evolves to resemble a hedgehog; the Chespin line sometimes gets talked about like it had anything to do with hedgehogs, which it doesn't.
Being a three-stage line of psychic foxes, it's pretty obvious that the Fennekin line is a replacement for the Abra line (by way of Vulpix [Fire-typing] and/or Eevee [fennecs]).
The Bunnelby line is a replacement for the Rattata line: both resemble rodents (rabbits et al aren't rodents [Rodentia] but Lagomorphs; however, not only do Lagomorophs resemble rodents, but both orders are part of the glade Glires), both are two-stage Normal-type Pokémon commonly found in early routes, and both learn Super Fang. (The same is also true of the Bidoof line.) For some reason, the Bunnelby line doesn't learn Hyper Fang, like it should.
Talonflame pulls off Fire/Flying bird better than Moltres does.
Gogoat is an elemental, horned ungulate, much like Sawsbuck. It differs in that it provides a mount for others -- like Rapidash.
The Spritzee line is a two-stage line that resembles birds and is technically flightless (by not having Flying as a secondary typing); the Doduo line is similar, save that they are supposed to be flightless birds yet are Flying-types.
The Inkay/Malamar line is themed around using hypnosis as mind-control. While the Drowzee and Gastly lines both did that, the first line of tentacle monsters we saw doing so (despite not being able to in the games) was the Tentacool line.
Goomy et al are slugs; the Slowpoke line is based on the sazae-oni, which is a youkai version of a turban snail.
Pumpkaboo is half pumpkin, half bat, and has fangs like a vampire. The bat part is clearly Zubat.
As a larger bat, Noivern replaces Golbat; however, as a wyvern, it replaces Aerodactyl (which is probably why Aerodactyl didn't make the cut anyway).
You could argue that Monferno/Infernape (Fighting-type monkeys) replaced Mankey/Primeape (Fighting-type primates), but you could make a similar claim with Pignite and Emboar (Mankey and Primeape being pig-monkeys) or, if you really wanted to stretch it, Scraggy and Scrafty (Dark-type vs. anger).
What else I could find is an extreme stretch:
Unown comes in a variety of forms, kinda like Ditto. More like Ditto, it can be difficult to counter owing to the attacking type it may have.
Oshawott et al use "scalchops" -- weaponized scallop shells. This bespeaks of the existence of something like Shellder and Cloyster, but doesn't adequately replace them. (That said, the Oshawott and Buizel lines are redundant; Buizel is infinitely better than the rest, IMHO.)
I did not find adequate comparisons for Nidorina, the entire Nidoran Male line, the Oddish line, Paras/Parasect, the Machop line, the Bellsprout line, Geodude et al, Grimer/Muk, Krabby/Kingler, Hitmonchan, the Koffing line, Kangaskhan, Horsea and Seadra, Staryu and Starmie, the dome and helix fossil lines, or Mewtwo. Several of these are unsurprising, as many of these have equivalents that simply were not included. Others are overly specific: the remainder of the Nidos are needle-rabbits that become rhinos and then bipedal rhinos, which we've already seen; the Bellsprout line's only major similarities to other lines tend to fall apart quickly owing to how Bellsprout evolves; and Kangaskhan has no equivalents apart from maybe Chansey, being a kaiju kangaroo.
This is all to say that we're on track for taking and running with concepts that have already been done; if we wanted to replace Pokémon line-by-line with Kanto ones, we'd come close to recreating Kanto and thus making a region.
What's Next
The next step is not to try to include every Kanto Pokémon or every member of every evolutionary line represented here, but to look at what we have to see what sorts of new evolutionary lines we could put together.
To wit, as demonstrated in my comparisons above, Pumpkaboo works as a basic bat that could evolve into the advanced bat Noivern. Some things would need to change: the pumpkin itself would need to be a ball or a held item, while the bat portion would need to be shaped even more like a bat; types would need changing, probably to Ghost/Flying and Ghost/Dragon; and perhaps small matters of detailing could be given to make the two look more closely related. It's some work, but no more than what you'd expect in type-changing fanart.
Other pseudo-lines:
Sableye -> Gengar
Munna -> Donphan -> Mamoswine (requires type change)
Deerling -> Gogoat (but it'd be better as either Skiddo or Sawsbuck, obvs.)
Pidove -> Staraptor (shared color schemes)
Pidgey -> Talonflame (shared peregrine cheek stripes)
Scraggy and Helioptile (small, yellow lizards; would need a type change, unsure which would be the base form). Either way, Haxorus would be the final form.
Meowth -> Meowstic
Pancham and Cubchoo could be treated as regional forms of another line, like the Teddiursa and/or Stufful ones. This would open up a slot for an evolved form of varying types.
Pachirisu -> Emolga
Since both Golduck and Lotad are based on kappas, you might be able to make Psyduck and Lotad related.
Bunnelby and Buneary are a little too similar not to be related within the context of this 'dex, but that more goes towards replacing Bunnelby with Lopunny than it does having one evolve from the other. An alternative via recoloring would be to have one evolve into Audino and the other into ... I dunno what.
I'm not sure exactly how you would do it, but given that both are ghosts haunting objects, you could have Spiritomb and Cofagrigus be related.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure where else to go with this. What remains doesn't really look like anythign else by even gross approximation, not without major alterations. And the trouble there is that several Pokémon that remain absolutely look like they need to evolve into or from something else. The proportion of such Pokémon is much larger than in Gen I, too.
Thus, I think we've exhausted what we can do with this Pokédex. It is intriguing in what we've gotten from it, but it's not enough for our purposes. It is what it is.

.... ya know eventually they're gonna run out of things to make a pikaclone. they're only so many types of rodent like creatures.
And when they do nothing is safe. not even ferrets or capybara. both of which would actually be cute as a pokemon and or pikaclone but still. nothing is sacred.

Pokémon and the Standard Model: a whole bunch of fakemon
Do you remember Plusle and Minun, the cute electric-type rabbits of Gen 3, based on positive and negative charges... or more physically, on protons and electrons? Do you ever want to see more Pokémon with physical properties? Well good, because I present you the Standard Model, Pokémon version! (...or at least a small part of it!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Posipi and Negapi (Plusle and Minun)
Type: Electric
Talents: Plus and Minus
A reminder of the basics: Plusle and Minun, the two cannon pikaclones based on the proton and the electron. Much like positive and Negative charges attract, Plusle and Minun's Talents Plus and Minus strenthen their Special Attack whenever another Pokémon of the opposite talent appears on the field.
(In the rest of this essay post, I will refer to them using their French names, Posipi and Negapi, simply so I have an excuse to name all the other by "...-pi" too. Sidenote: Posipi, Negapi and all the fakemon presented here are named the Lapi.)
The electromagnetic forces make two charged objects interact using photons, and in the same way, Posipi and Negapi communicate by using like signals. By little flashes of light, the can see if they'll get along, get into fight, or even start hitting on each other.
Tumblr media
Neutrapi
Type: Normal
Talent: Lightning Rod
Neutrapi, the Neutron Pokémon. Due to his absense of charge, he is a Normal type and is unaffected by the electromagnetic force, leading to its Talent being Lightning Rod, the ability to cancel all Electric attacks. Like his cousins Posipi and Negapi, he remains pretty common in the wild.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anti-Posipi and anti-Negapi
Type: Electric
Talents: Minus and Plus
These alternate forms of Posipi and Negapi are based on antimatter! Respectively, this oddly coloured Posipi is the antiproton pokémon, and this Negapi is the positron pokémon. They do not hold much difference from their counterparts other than their Talents obviously being inverted (anti-Posipi getting Minus and anti-Negapi getting Plus). They can be found in alternate universes like the one you visit in the USUM games (Another idea would be the Distortion World if Giratina wasn't alone there).
Tumblr media
Darkapi
Type: Dark
Talent: ?
Darkapi, the Dark Matter Pokémon. It does not exist anywhere on the Pokéworld: to find it, you will have to visit outer space. It can turn "off" the turquoise lights on his cheeks and tail, making them effectively invisible if they are in a place dark enough.
Tumblr media
Gravipi
Type: Ghost
Talent: Levitate
Last but not least, Gravipi, the pokémon based on a particle whose existence hasn't even been proven yet: the graviton! This mysterious little bunny is so hard to find that it has acquired the status of legendary.
How to find Gravipi:
Now that we have imagined all these cute and weird rabbits, imagine a place that studies them: the Lapi Lab. Its owner would really like to see them all, and will only start talking to you about Gravipi once you've found all the other existing Lapi - and even she herself does not really know then answer.
Then, one day, she decides as a scientist to perform a gravity exeriment known as the Pound-Rebka experiment: an experiment supposed to give out infinie amounts of energy if you keep doing it, thus violating the laws of energy conservation. Except, the truth is that it fails because of a property of gravity, called the equivalence principle. But let us pretend our friend the scientist doesn't know that.
So, our friend the scientist tests the experiment. It fails, the energy is conserved. Not understanding why, she tries again with better technology and higher energy levels involved... but the Pound-Recka experiment still fails, the energy is conserved.
She tries again, this time using a huge machine the size of a room, in which she places the needed items. This time, (if the experiment worked) there is no way it would fail no way it would fail, the margin of error is neary zero, the levels of energy involved are huge, the technology is unfallible.
She burst into the room to see if it worked... The items of the experiment are untouched. The energy is still conserved. And in the middle of the room, there is Gravipi.

Although I've heard some people dislike the Pikaclones on the basis that they're just trying to recapture the love that people have for Pikachu. Still, I kind of love these Pokémon because they all have such adorable designs. I just really like rodents and other small mammals, and the Pikaclones are some of the best examples of those animals being translated into Pokémon.
For my version of shiny Pachirisu, I decided that it would be fun to flip the colors of the cheek pouches and the body, to create a yellow design with bright electric blue cheek dots. When choosing a yellow, I was very careful not to get close to the golden color that is used on actual Pikachu, as I felt that it would make someone thing too much of Pikachu, which is always a problem with the Pikaclones.

Things about my fictional pokemon region (which needs a name):
You are raised by an older sister who trains pokemon for service (both Service Pokemon and Ride Pokemon), and is fairly famous throughout the region for her work. She is also a pseudo-Rival, showing up several times during your adventure to battle you. She’s in the area for work reasons and she takes some time to check out your skills, as well as exercise the pokemon she has on her. Her team changes drastically throughout the game because of this.
The last time you encounter her is as the Champion (she’s not famous just for her service and ride pokemon, but for her battle skills as well)
Two different pokemon professors, a married couple similar to Kukui and Burnet, called Wyatt Buckeye and June Dogwood (btw: the whole region is South-Western USA based, or maybe Western Canada? Think that sort of area. If I go Western Canada, I’d have to include mountains and a temperate Rainforest). I’m not 100% sure what Buckeye studies, because what I think suits him is already taken (because I feel like it would be either Relationships between Humans and Pokemon, which is Oak’s Specialty, or Habitats, which is Birch’s), but his wife Dogwood researches Pokemon Evolution Families (a la Darwinian Evolution). She’s the main professor, the one who gives you your starter and pokedex.
The region is HUGE and has very long distances between cities, but lots of small towns scattered here and there, lots of rest houses, one or two tunnels that act as shortcuts, being straight shots to certain cities. There is also a desert you need to cross.
You have two rivals (like in B/W) Rhett and Acacia. Acacia Buckeye is the professor’s daughter. She doesn’t know what she wants from her life. She has the starter weak to yours and is usually found doing whatever fun side thing is available (Contests, etc)
Your other Rival is Rhett. Rhett is haughty. But it is RHETT who first discovers Team Revive and their plans and decides to take action against them and free the pokemon stored in their lab (he rescues two of them near the beginning of the game, and he gifts one to you, the other is on his team til the end)
The Aether Foundation makes an appearance as a Branch. One that actually does what it claimed. Rescuing abused and injured pokemon and helping them. It’s a location where you can do some odd jobs for money, heal, and battle Aether Employees (some are on break, some have pokemon who are restless, etc. And they heal your pokemon after battle)
Now: Team Revive. Team Revive’s focus is on restoring ancient pokemon and eliminating the rock type contamination that most of the fossil pokemon have, giving them their original type combos (Kabuto: Bug/Water (bug/fighting Kabutops), Omanyte: Water, Aerodactyl: Dragon/Flying, Anorith: Water/Bug (Bug/Steel Armaldo), Lileep: Water/Grass, Shieldon:Ground/Steel, Archen: Dragon/Flying, Tyrunt: pure dragon (Tyrantrum is Dragon/Dark) in their Revive Formes. Almost all of the members use Revive Forme fossil pokemon. Their goal is to obtain Genesect.
PLOT TWIST:
Team Revive isn’t evil. Rhett (who was born in another region, maybe Unova?) jumped to conclusions. Their goals are to restore wild populations of these extinct pokemon, and reintroduce them into their natural habitats. I feel like, post game, you could bring them fossils to receive the Revive Formes.
I also feel like you’d be able to get the true forms of the Galar Fossils, and there would be several regional fossils as well, with two formes. The part Rock regular forme, and the Revive Forme. My choices are: one based off of a Maiasaura (i’d love it if the baby was bipedal and the adult quadrupedal), one based off some sort of prehistoric mammal (I’d choose Direwolf, or maybe a Sabertooth tiger...though this is pokemon, it could be both), and one based off of the spiral shark, and Gorochu. Yes Gorochu, as a fossil pokemon who is the ancestor of all of the Pikaclones.
Some of the scrapped pokemon designs can be reworked for new pokemon or regional variants/evolutions.
I don’t have any designs in mind for other regional variants but I love them, so of course I would include them!
Also you can visit your pokemon in the daycare and play with them like you can play with pokemon in USUM, and you can see how compatible your pokemon are from the road (pokemon who are highly compatible would stand closer and play often, pokemon who are totally incompatible would never go near each other. Maybe toss in some pokedex references too! Like Seviper and Zangoose dislike each other, but after a bit of time start to like each other (because they are breeding compatible). Prey and Predator pokemon would say things like "X seems to be hungry..." or "Y seems nervous..." AND!! If you put a ditto in the daycare with another pokemon it would actually show that you have two of the same pokemon!
