when you’re a group of two where one is captain of the basketball team and the other is the weird genius student but you’ve finally embraced your true love for singing (and each other) and audition in the call-backs for the school winter musical after winning the basketball championships and the science decathlon, respectively.

fionna's world being represented by a dandelion makes so much sense ... they're weeds. yet people make wishes through them, changing their whole meaning from something meant to be destroyed to something hopeful.

dandelions are also resilient and it makes sense that something associated with them would. you know. perservere despite the destruction caused by the scarab.

but ultimately i think what REALLY made me tear up over this is that dandelions are really boring plants. when you're a kid you blow on them and make your wish but they're not eyecatching or anything but still, fionna's final wish was for her old world to still exist as it was when she left it (> plain and simple. boring even).

like the moment she realized she would lose her friends, and that her friends might forget each other if the world got its magic back, she immediately decided she didn't want it and I think that ties back to the dandelion metaphor so well... like, do you really need magic to be real to find it everywhere? or can you turn something boring into something magical?

gimleaf has me giggling & kicking my feet but mostly giggling because elf jewelry is so dainty and stringy and elves are like “why…. this jewel contains light reflected off the river which flowed between the two trees of valinor…..” while dwarves are like “want to see me put this 80 karat diamond into my beard”

funniest and most heartwarming thing i rediscovered on my rewatch is when karin roasts sakura about poisoning naruto and then kakashi, who loves all of his kids very much and understands their behavior and isn’t upset with them about their choices but has also been under ABSURD amounts of stress for all of season 10, just bursts out laughing ❤️

I saw a post awhile ago (can’t find it now) talking about a hard of hearing Donnie hc and how soft shells get ear infections a lot and his goggles could be some kind of hearing aid type thing and I thought it was a pretty cool headcanon so I wanted to expand on it :)

Donnie can canonically read lips, I think maybe before he developed his goggles/hearing aids he learned how to read lips so he could communicate easier maybe.

He also uses ASL at one point in the show, he signs ‘explosion’ when they were in the woods, so he knows sign language!

His hearing is slightly better in his left ear

He got a chronic ear infection (chronic suppurative otitis media) when he was four, Leo was the first to realize that he couldn’t hear after he got sick

He still gets ear pains and tinnitus sometimes, and his balance isn’t very good

Leo is the only other one who knows ASL, him and Donnie sign to each other and have secret conversations (comes in handy during missions and for inside jokes)
