Haziel knew he was guilty of course. He had done- unforgivable things. Unspeakable things. And he knew that no matter what was done to him he would not be any bit closer to forgiveness.

But why was he the only one paying for it?

Everyone wanted their vengeance. Aziphem for- obvious reasons. His master for those same reasons, even if Kotarou was not the one who had suffered because of it. The council, stripping him of his apprenticeship, his weapons, and now his clothes as their act of punishment. Everyone felt entitled to their retribution.

And yeah. He deserved it. Every moment of agony and more. But he had been just one of the many aggressors. Kotarou had lead the project and Aziphem's final escape. Alejo had worked from the shadows to make everything possible. The various researchers had passed around Aziphem like a lab animal. A million hands had touched this atrocity. But when blood had to be paid, only his wrists were slit. It was easier to blame the hot headed apprentice. He could be a willing accomplice or a disobedient violent aggressor depending on what he was charged with. And every dirty hand could consider itself cleansed from his torment. This was retribution, reparation, and repentance all in one, even if it did nothing to fix any damage done.

But they needed a scapegoat; everyone demanded their pound of flesh. And as the icy desert night descended, even the coyotes would get it.

Mediwhump May Day 2 - Stitches

CW: Forced medical procedure, stitches

AN: Sorry for the lazier comics, I got a new project at work and need to preserve my wrists.

Kotoru had never been a fan of consecrated whips, and he had never met a wielder who hadn't been a raging sadist. But he was also not nearly high enough in this chain of command to make a point about it. Besides, he had been lucky to bargain for this.

After the recent string of escape attempts, the council had been discussing terminating his project and executing his ward. It had taken equal parts groveling and providing evidence of his success to allow them to settle on a lesser punishment.

Of course this was intended as a punishment for him as well, stitching the bleeding whip marks as the demon wailed on the table below him. With this being a consecrated whip, Aziphem wouldn't heal without intervention and he didn't want to risk the injuries getting worse.

Maybe this would convince that foolish demon to stay close to him, to work with him, that he wasn't the worst angel he could have been given to.

Okay listen... (rambling below the cut)

I had a fucking CRAZY dream last light. I was, coincidentally, trying to induce lucid dreaming which didn't work BUT I still had a wild dream. There was a lab escapee. A tracking collar. TERRIFYING HUMAN HUNTING "DOGS." A chase scene through an autumnal forest. A military airship. Sick-ass aerial stunts.

I don't know if I could ever to it justice in writing.

There's a very overambitious, hubris-filled part of me that wants to make a comic.

As you can see, the art wouldn't be as polished as my work usually is! I may even have to change up my style! It wouldn't be, like... very good, probably? I don't know! I just don't know! I will probably try, I may or may not share it, we'll see. But I wanted to share just this little bit that genuinely took me all day, nonstop... I'm very excited about it.

I do also understand that making comics is very demanding. This could totally go nowhere.

I'm going to tag my regular art taglist here, but if I continue to post about this comic I'll be starting a new taglist, so let me know if you want onto that. I just don't want to bug anyone who only wants to see my more polished stuff.

The Heart; Chapter 1 page 1

This has been quite a long time coming, but I was finally able to get down the first page. This is going to be the first comic series- The Heart- In the Half Lies and Hidden Truths series. Which will all be in comic format. The Heart being the first Arc, and Jane's story.

Please keep in mind this comic is going to be whump. So this first arc in particular will be lady whump.
